As an apology for the failed thread the other night, I updated the smutbin. Feel free to read it and give me feedback. Due to low numbers, I killed the last thread shortly after beginning it, so the summation won't take long.

>walked for days with the wives to find Rezna, the alleged blood witch
>entered a warm scrubland with tall stone pillars of various sizes
>found one particular pillar with thousands and thousands of animal skeletons at it's base
>snuck all the way up the tower, and have come upon the back of a woman

~~~~~~~~
The girl you see before you is short, shorter than Daliah by a few inches. Everything about her is thin, and though her skin tone is coppery, she looks somehow pale. She's covered in scars of various size and age, and that's all she has on. One large scar appears to start on one side of her, and disappears around her front and works it's way to the other side of her back. She has long black hair, but it's unkempt, and appears damaged. She looks in ill health in general, though that's all you can surmise from behind.
You crouch down to confer with your wives. "She hasn't seen us yet" you whisper, not enunciating the sibilants to avoid being heard, "what should we do?"
[ ] Sneak attack, let's get this over with!
Get Daliah's opinion first, then either follow her plan, or if none is offered, see if we can't restrain and bind her. If this is her old friend, she needs to stand trial for her crimes... that and it should allow Daliah to 'tie up loose ends'...
>>
>>24773565
Daliah looks conflicted. "You don't want to kill her outright, do you? You want to know what, and why and how, don't you? Damn your curiosity darling." You kiss your wives gently, hopefully not for the last time, and stand fully. You continue the walk around the pillar, following the path. As you come into the woman's field of vision, you don't get a reaction. Her eyes are fixed on the horizon, far on the horizon. She's as emaciated from the front as she is from the back, and no less covered in scars. You cringe to imagine the time required to destroy yourself like that. You stand directly in front of her now, but still, she seems to look through your chest.
"Hey, you. You're Rezna, aren't you?"
Her mouth opens, but only air issues forth. She seems to be trying to speak, but long disuse has ruined her faculties. She slowly begins to focus in on you, and then your wives.
Rezna backs up, and you notice one hand clenched around something, dripping blood. She's as dangerous now as she ever could be, appearances aside.
You take a step back.
Buy time, distract her, keep on talking to her as if we're being diplomatic, tell her that she doesn't have to do this, that we don't have to hurt each other. Move so if she is looking at us she can't see Daliah or Melissa.
This'll give Daliah a good opportunity to stab her in the back if it's needed.
You pace around Rezna, trying to draw her attention to you, so Daliah can get a good angle on her.
"Listen Rezna, we came all the way from the village to find you. Daliah suspected you might still be alive, and she wanted to rescue a childhood friend! Just stay calm, we're not here to hurt you."
Rezna seems to be coming around a bit more, and speaks softly, "I...You...here..."
"Yes, Rezna. My name is Keith, and I married Daliah, and Melissa here, too. We thought you might need help out here alone, for so long, and we came as soon as we could. You're bleeding, you know, can I have a look at your hand?"
That seemed to cut through the fog a bit. "NO!", Rezna shouts, belying her apparent weakness, and she steps back again, looking around wildly. "It's mine! It's the only thing that's kept me alive!"
She's getting cagey, you're a bit worried.
"Stop Rezna! Please!" Daliah shouts suddenly. "Remember when we were children, and you stole my bear? I was so mad at you, but you were just cleaning him for me! You gave him back and he was cleaner than he's ever been! You did it because we were friends, you were a good person then, and I believe you're a good person still. You've just been corrupted by that damn medallion!"
With that, you take your cue to knock the disc out of Rezna's hand, and catch it midair. It's sharp, and pricks your hand. Upon inspection, it looks like polished gold, a sunburst with clockwise facing spikes. You pocket the medallion, and turn back to Rezna. She's crumpled to her knees, the life knocked back out of her. Daliah rushes to her side, whispering to her, and holding her up. Melissa sidles up to you, and whispers herself.
"Keith, that girl is in terrible shape. I suspect she'll die if we just leave her here. I'm not suggesting we do that, but it's not technically murder that way."
"No, honey, we can't just leave her here. We have the only dangerous thing here in my pocket, so the situation is fully defused. We'll go home, let her recuperate there. Surely Daliah will tend to her, though if you lend a hand with Providence, it'll probably speed her recovery."
Melissa nods, undaunted. "As you wish Husband, but I fear Daliah is blinded by friendship long lost, so in her stead, I will keep an eye on you. I will not have some raggedy bint harming you in your sleep." With a kiss to your cheek, Melissa goes to help Daliah. What strange and wonderful wives you have.
~~~~~~

The journey home takes longer than the journey in, due to Rezna not being fully on her feet. Daliah piggybacks her a fair bit, as do you. When you rest, Melissa tends to her with Providence, and as the days pass, Rezna seems to become slightly healthier. She'll only speak with Daliah, and only in whispers, to your mild irritation.

~~~~
Finally, you arrive home as the first snows begin to fall. You dismiss the village boy who's been tending to your livestock, with a silver coin for his trouble. He skips happily out of sight. The girls have already taken Rezna indoors, and after a brief survey of your farm, you follow suit.
The fire is well set already, and the three sit in a semi circle in front of it. You don't blame them, but you stand back a bit in the shadows. You want to hear the conversation. Unfortunately, you catch only snippets.
~~~

Later that evening, Daliah comes to you. "She's told me everything that happened, and I think she's telling the truth. Do you want the long version, or the short version?"

Well?
>>
>>24774894
"Long version, you already know I go for the long versions sweetheart, no matter how much harder it is to hear."

>>
With a slow kiss, you tell Daliah "Give it all to me. The story, I mean. It's been ten years, right?"

Daliah nods. "I'll start where I left off myself. The night we were raided by Shady River, Rezna's whole family was killed. They were from another village, originally, but they arrived long before Rezna was born. Anyhow, Rezna saw the destruction wrought in Old Bounty, and assumed everyone was dead. She swore revenge, even as a child of 11, and began walking off in search of somewhere to live while she grew up. She walked for weeks, and eventually found the desert that lies beyond the scrubland we were in. There she found a small travelling caravan, and lived with them, for a time. Before long though, the Patriarch of the caravan attempted to...mate with her. She was only 12 at that time, so she used the Medallion to kill him, and she escaped back into the scrubland. Since that time, she lived in the sandstone tower we found her in, using the medallion to survive, by summoning coyotes to eat, and so on. But as you can tell from her size, it stunted her growth, somewhat, bleeding every day like that. Not to mention the scars. She went fairly mad, over time. A few weeks ago, she wanted to kill herself in a rage, so she cut herself from side to side with the medallion, and screamed at the sky. Apparently that got interpreted as a storm, and you know what that caused. She didn't die, as you can tell, but she spent the rest of her time until we found her near death, only surviving off scraps of old coyote."

Daliah takes a drink of water.

"She has no where to go, and she's still fairly unstable. She needs a friend. She needs me. Please, Keith, I know she almost killed you, but it wasn't intentional. Let me take care of her until she's better, at least. Please."

Daliah looks at you with tears in her eyes.

[ ] Well?
>>
>>24775241
"Of course you can take care of her. I fear she may be too far gone to ever truly recover, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't try to help her heal.

I have one obvious caveat, do not let her near the medallion. I do not think that would go well."
>>
>>24775241
"Alright, Daliah. No one died during the storm, and for all that it nearly killed me, I can understand that it was just a case of bad luck and being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
"I'll see about getting another bed ready for her tomorrow, and maybe some clothes."
>>
>>24775241

>>
You nod, and stroke Daliah's face. "Of course we can keep her honey, though I liked it better when you brought me a cat." Daliah laughs lightheartedly, and then kisses you. "You'll see Keith, this will be good for all of us."

You wonder what she means by that, but she's off to tell Rezna the good news. Melissa has already brought her some clothes that hang off her small frame, you'll need to get her fitted tomorrow or the next day.

That night, your bed is even more crowded than usual. You're sleeping on the far right, instead of in the middle. Melissa insists upon this, for your safety. Melissa, then Daliah, then Rezna fill out the rest of your bed. Daliah is spooning Rezna, and stroking her hair. It's sort of weird, but you let it slide. Melissa falls asleep last, true to her word, and then you allow yourself to pass out. The medallion is in a small pouch inside your shirt, safely tucked away.

~~~~
The next morning, you're treated to breakfast in bed, by none other than Rezna, guided by Daliah. It's some halfcooked eggs, and a slab of even less cooked chicken.
"Please. Thank you."
That's the most you've heard from her in days, you take it as a good sign. You offer her half the food, and though she denies it once, the second time you offer it disappears into her. She needs all the food she can get, you reckon.
[ ] What now?
>>
>>24775686
Feel slightly depressed over not getting our usual cuddles from everyone in the bed.
Then go out to the field, check on the trees, make sure everything is ready for planting when the next season starts.
Also draft out plans for a basic seed drill, it'll make planting easier. They're not that complicated and allow for even spreading of seed which means more efficient use of seeds and higher yields.
>>
>>24775686
Well, The way I see it, we need a Guest Quarters and the Relic Vault.
Let us go Chop some Wood. we can plan out the Guest Quarters and prepare the Lumber.
>>
>>24775686
Find the cat, and thank her.
Feed the animals, pet the dog, and tell her she's a good dog.
Check on the saplings.
I think we should make a cart with the help of the carpenter.
We can get the wood, and he can cut and smooth it.
>>
>>24775780
I don't think Rezna is going to want to part from Daliah for a while. If we build a guest quarters, we're liable to share a bed with only one wife for some time.
Not saying don't do it, just saying.
>>
>>24775832
Oh yeah, the cart. Let's get a cart.
>>
>>24775879
Guest quarters can wait. We've got other things to worry about.
The cart should be easy, and will make things much easier.
The seed drill, we'll probably need to spend the rest of winter messing around with it till we can get one that works properly.
Remember that we're doing all of this off of memory, without access to modern tools or schematics, and we're not a specialist.
Here's a basic 2-lane seed drill in action:
http://youtu.be/2ug8YX-vuDE
>>
>>24775969
Yeah, they're not the most complicated thing, I mean they've been around in some form since 1500 BC, and multi-tube versions since 200 BC, but we'll need to draft up plans and spend some time with the woodworker and blacksmith to get it made.
But it'll make planting so much easier.
>>
>>24776001
>But it'll make planting so much easier.
Easier, and increase crop yields by 900%.
>>
You're going to need a cart for next year's larger harvests. You head outside to check your lumber supplies, in your wolfskin cloak to ward off the cold.
You judge that you likely have enough for a midsized cart, should be good enough for your purposes. You head down to the carpenters' house, with Melissa in tow.
"You know honey, I'm safe enough off the farm, if that's the only reason you're following me."
Melissa puffs out her cheeks, and looks offended. "You're my husband and I love you, do I need any other reason? Perhaps you're just mad that I'm not Daliah, your F.A.V.O.R.I.T.E. wife."
You laugh loudly, and hug Melissa closely. She squishes against you pleasantly. "I jest honey, I do. I love having you around me. Relax, and enjoy the time away from the farm."
The two of you snuggle your way to Douglas' house, where you're greeted warmly, as usual.
You get straight to business though, as you want to do some shopping in town. Douglas hears you out, and then nods to himself. "A cart, eh? The hard part is going to be the wheels, give me until spring to do a good job on it, I'll talk to John about the metal bits, I'm sure it'll be no problem." You slip Douglas some silver to cover costs, and head on into town.
"Keith, I want to go shopping at the tailors for...something. Can I, please?"
You portion out some coin, and Melissa accepts it gladly, though she takes an extra one with her tongue sticking out.
"I'll meet you back at the farm, I'll show you what I got there, Okay?" With that, she's gone, though you watch her leave for a while.
With that, you're a bit stymied with what to do.
You're reminded of the empty clinic in town. It's not good for a community to not have a doctor, but the building had clearly never been used. Obviously no one in town had the skills, but there was one possibility. You head back to the farm pensively.
~~~~~~~

Arriving home, you find Daliah, Melissa and Rezna sitting at the table, discussing various girly things. You clear your throat, and they turn to look at you. "Say, Rezna, I was wondering, do you have any skill as a healer?"

Melissa cocks her head a bit, but Rezna answers quietly. "On my own, no. The Medallion...with that, yes."

"I see, I was just thinking, this town has no doctor, and even if you could only heal small wounds, and colds and such, it could be really useful. It'd be a great way to bring you back into society."

She seems to consider this. "Yes. But...I need the medallion for it. Small things, I can learn from a book, but with the medallion, anything."

You rub your chin with your hand. Dare you give her back the medallion? Daliah seems to trust her, Melissa, not so much.

"The problem is that it would make people too reliant upon it. Better that we develop your healing skills, so that you are able to work without it."

I don't know if Daliah has told Rezna and Melissa that she wants to destroy the Relics to bring back her mother; if she has, then it's obvious that we'd have to destroy the Medallion and the people who depended on it would be out of luck.
>>
>>24776774
Perhaps, but we relied on Melissa's relic to live, who are we to deny other villagers the same? In the name of some goddess?

[ ] Give her back the medallion
[ ] Ask for a demonstration of it's healing powers

[X] Give her the medallion, you can easily take it back

"Rezna, I wish for you to be very careful with this and only to use it when absolutely needed. Healing other's wounds with your own blood fixes little.

But as Deliah trusts you I trust you as well. I trust you to help people and to learn everything you can to not need the medallion.

You'll be in a unparalleled position to help people, please make the fullest use of it."
>>
>>24776718

"The medallion it unquestionably powerful, though all power comes with a cost. Would it be acceptable if it were kept for emergency use only?"

there will be times when it's powers will be needed, but there is no requirement for it's application at every situation...
>>
You decide Rezna can handle the medallion for a while, at least. Pulling it from your shirt gingerly, you place it in Rezna's outstretched hand.

"Now, Rezna, can you show me an example of it's healing power? What are we talking here, light scratches, slightly deeper wounds?"

Rezna seems to think for a minute, then takes a long knife from the kitchen table, and plunges it into your neck. In the same motion, she removes it, and puts it back on the table. You see your blood shooting out of your body at regular intervals, you hear the gurgle of fluid in your windpipe. You drop to your knees.
>>
>>24776718
We shouldn't give her the medallion. She just got free of the influence and should continue to live as such. Giving the temptation to use it would only make things worse. And just think of your wives that see you trying to make her use it for any reason at all.
>>
>>24776853
Ow.
>>
>>24776853
I would have preferred a less dramatic demonstration.

And weren't we going to make her less reliant on the Medallion? She's going to try to use it every opportunity.
You've just given a morphine addict an ampoule of morphine and told them that they should only use if they need to.
>>
>>24776853

after the demonstration, we have to make a comment about spending too much time being Fatally wounded...
>>
You look her dead in the eyes at this height, clutching your neck fruitlessly. Her expression never changes, she watches you dying impassionately. The room begins to darken before you, and she slowly raises the hand holding the medallion. She holds it right up to your face, and then clenches her hand around it, freeing her blood. She then touches your forehead with the medallion, and you feel an instant shock. It's like really strong deja vu. You get the sensation of movement, like falling, and then you snap into your body again with a jerk that sends you to the floor.

The first thing you note is that your floor is covered in blood, yours. The second thing you notice is that no more is coming out of you. There's no pain, there's no wound that you can feel. In contrast, Rezna seems to be in a fair amount of pain.

Your wives are screaming, at each other. "I told you to watch your insane little bitch!"
"She's not a bitch, she's just been through a lot!"
And so on. You get to your feet, slowly. You hold your hand out. "That wasn't pleasant for you, was it? Why did you do it?"

Rezna straightens a bit, and hands you the medallion without hesitation. "Killing something sends pleasure through the medallion. Healing something sends it's pain to me. The medallion is equally strong in either direction, only the user notes a difference. I am sorry I scared you."

"Well it certainly works, though I think it'd be best for everyone if you didn't use it unless it was needed and didn't put on any more demonstrations like this one.

There ought to be enough information on medicine, herbs, remedies, and so on that you will only need it for the truly grievous wounds once you learn more.

Melissa, Daliah, I'm fine, calm down."
>>
>>24777008

"To be fair to Rezna, I DID kind of ask for it... Though Rezna, It seems that the Medallion, while useful, is too damaging. While I do not dispute the many ways it can help, I would like to request that it only be used in dire situations. Though, now I know what it can do, I suppose I better get used to dying, as My lovely wives are now able to kill me without the true consequence of my death..."
>>
>>24777008
>[ ] Calm your wives
"Alright, that was stupid of me, we should have gotten something else for her to test it on. Calm down, both of you, please.
"Rezna, I think it best if you used more conventional methods of healing, and only use the Medallion in emergencies."

Can we stop making our wives angry at us for doing stupid shit like this?
>>
>>24777141
We wouldn't have these problems if we'd stop being stupid.
And don't forget that the farm's prosperity is dependent on how happy our wives our; you're going to run this farm into the ground with how angry you make them all the time.
>>
>>24777152
>can we stop making our wives angry?

It only makes them love us more, silly.
>>
>>24777008
so it basically sends jolts of pleasure when you kill someone?
put that away in a deep dark place until it comes time to put all the mcguffins together.
>>
>>24777168
There's a difference between making our wives mad, and actually upsetting them by raping Rezna or something.
>>
>>24777189
I would have thought that getting ourselves killed for no good reason (even if we did get better) would fall into the latter camp.
>>
>>24777189
It's still stirring up a fight between Daliah and Melissa, though.
Melissa is supposed to be the calm one, and look at how mad this got her.
>>
>>24777008
"An artifact that gives pleasure on killing, and pain on healing. Balance in all things, I suppose. Still, next time you want to demonstrate something, perhaps warn me first. Because if you hadn't been able to heal me, no power on this Earth would have stopped my wives from killing you.

Be careful, and try not to become too reliant on the medallion as the only way to heal. Practice some non-magical healing, too."
>>
>>24777231
No one could have seen that coming, it's not your fault, don't worry.
>>
Getting stabbed in the neck wasn't our idea.
We need to both calm our wives and get Rezna to not stab any more people.
>>
>>24777008
"Well, having now experienced both, I must say I prefer the little death to the big one. Don't do that again, and save the medallion for when someone truly is dying."
>>
>>24777285
Actually, I expected Rezna to injure us in some way in order to demonstrate the Medallion's power. Just didn't expect it to be a knife to the jugular (I expected a knife to the gut).
>>
It takes an effort, but you pat Rezna on the head. "Tell you what, why don't I hold onto this for now, and you can learn about herbs and basic wound care from Daliah's books, and we'll see where that gets you."

Rezna nods, then goes off into the other room while you sort out your wives. They're at each other's throats.
"You care more about that little psychopath than you do your own husband!"

"You dare? If I kill you now, maybe she won't bring you back!"

You put a hand between them. "Ladies, please. I'm fine. You're not to blame. And neither is she, really. She just needs to be socialized. The same could be said of you too, sometimes, Daliah. Why don't you take her into town and introduce her to a few people while I recover from my own death?"

Daliah holds you tightly, and cries for a while, while Melissa stares daggers at her back. She eventually lets go, and strokes your face before collecting Rezna and heading into town. It'll be dark long before they're back, but the two of them should be safe, together.

"Melissa, I..." She puts a finger to your lips.

"You're a silly man, but I love you. Go have a bath while I clean the floor up, I'll meet you in the bedroom afterwards, and I'll show you what I bought at the tailors, lest you suddenly die on me and I bought it for naught."

Her advice seems sound, so you head into the bath, quite freezing though it is. You consider finding a way to heat it.

~~~~~~
Some time later, you're lying in bed with a few candles lit for light. Daliah and Rezna still aren't back, you suppose they have a lot of catching up to do in the village. A knock comes at the door to the room. "Come in", you say softly.
Melissa enters with her head high, but blushing fiercely. She's wearing a one piece corset that pushes her already considerable breasts up into veritable titty monster status. The corset amplifies her already perfectly feminine appearance, and you're utterly thrilled with how it looks on her.
>>
"I figured I had to do something to compete with Daliah, you pay the girl so much attention. I'm jealous, frankly."
You laugh deeply and for some time. "Come here you gorgeous fool, make me feel alive again."
End thread for the night, my wife needs me.
Feel free to discuss what you want out of the next thread, I'll read it for as long as I can.
>>
>>24777473
While we're certainly going to be appreciative, Melissa has some serious problems here. Jealous doesn't quite cover it; she's clearly very insecure about her appearance compared to Daliah. Maybe it's the "goddess's daughter" thing, or maybe it's that we met Daliah first, or that Melissa is from the "enemy" camp, or all of the above, but we really need to tell her and show her that we're not playing favorites. Yeah, Daliah has a bigger bust; so what? We didn't marry either of our wives for their looks, that was just an incredible bonus.
>>
>>24777473
Do you even read?
>>
>>24777600
>Yeah, Daliah has a bigger bust
Actually, no, Daliah is Delicious Flat Chest.
Daliah is jealous of Melissa because Melissa has a very feminine figure and a large bust.
Melissa is jealous of Daliah because we pay her more attention, and usually take her side in any arguments.
>>
>>24777647
This, basically.
It's probably not going to be an issue, except for the guys who like the smutbin, and are hoping for some D/M action.
Not gonna happen unless they really like each other.
>>
>>24777747
>Not gonna happen unless they really like each other.
With the way that people make choices that always cause fights between the two to arise, that'll likely never happen.
>>
>>24777627
I do, but it's late and I got the name wrong there. (Fortunately Keith didn't, that'd be a fatal mistake.)
To rephrase: Melissa is emphasizing her appearance and her bust, trying to compete with Daliah, and thinking that's her main advantage to try to get our attention. She's clearly very insecure about her position relative to Daliah. ("insecure about her appearance" was a poor choice of phrasing; rather, she often seems to be thinking her appearance is all we care about, or all she has to offer.) If Melissa continues thinking that her appearance is the main thing we care about, that's going to lead to serious problems.
Put that together with them still seeing each other in competition for Keith, and that's a really dangerous situation.
We really need to make it clear that we love the fact that they're different, and that they complement each other in so many ways. For instance, Melissa is often the clearer thinker, complementing Daliah's fiery temperament. Daliah is a lot more forceful, which is again neither good nor bad, just different.
>>
>>24777814
Those fights are itching to happen already, and while Keith's actions sometimes trigger them, it seems like a more significant issue than that. And in this case it wasn't what Keith did, it was what Rezna did, and Melissa going after Daliah for puting too much faith in Rezna.
>>
>>24777814
You should have been in some of the threads I made past midnight.
>and picking TPK options.
Yeah, that was pretty bad.
/tg/ is bad enough normally when it comes to decision-making, but that was just out and out retarded.
>>
>>24777915
>>24777926
I know right?
I wasn't being cryptic about it either, I don't think.
>>
>>24777856
>in this case it wasn't what Keith did, it was what Rezna did
We could have prevented it from becoming a problem by either not letting Rezna use the Medallion, or by specifying a wound or how she should show us the Medallion's power.
>>
>>24777956
Again, don't take this sort of thing too seriously. I wanted it to be shocking, but I swear I won't kill you off without warning you first.
>>
>>24777982
I'm not worried about being killed off; I'm worried about the relationship meter between Melissa and Daliah.
Now (or rather, next time they're both around), and frequently. It's a building problem, and we need to deal with it.
>>
>>24778065
Remind me then, if you can.
>>
>>24778034
We definitely need to deal with their relationship with each other, as well as making it clear that neither of their relationships with Keith is in competition with the other, though they do complement each other in many ways.
>>
>>24778097
If we fix the relationship I'll add a /u/ segment to the smutbin.
>>
>>24778072
>It's a building problem, and we need to deal with it.
>need to deal with it
That depends on if the same people that wanted to move sticks and rocks around a farm that's out of season so can't grow anything when our wives are going to hunt down a witch, or who questioned bringing along an extra person who can empower a Relic that can defend against harmful magics, are going to be voting.
>>
>>24778120
As much as I don't get this mindset, the point of a quest IS to have choices available, I suppose.
>>
>>24778294
Just as it's a choice to eat dirt or go 'a cat is fine too'. Just because it's a choice, doesn't mean that it's a good choice, or that it even makes sense.
>>
>>24778108
That's not the reason we're doing it. Not complaining (and more interested in having them not play disappearing-act tag-team with Keith in the bedroom), but I think we need to get the relationship repaired for its own sake.
>>
>>24778365
True enough. I honestly have no idea what I'm doing as I run this quest, so I rely on you all to correct me as needed, so please continue to do so.
>>
>>24778378
Duly noted. Thank you.
>>
>>24778389
You do an amazing job of listening and playing it by ear while still producing good results; just don't let it turn into full inmates-running-the-asylum mode. There's a balance, and you're hitting it very nicely right now.
>>
>>24778414
This is extremely rewarding to hear, thank you.
>>
You know, while we grew the figs for other reasons, once it and its leaves get large enough, I think we ought to use it for a fig-leaf sight gag.
(Now wondering whether Melissa or Daliah would be the one to play along and offer us an apple from the apple trees...)
>>
>>24778571
That depends, which of the two do you think is more easily corruptible? Melissa through her love for you, or Daliah through her desire to bring her dead mother back?
>>
>>24778649
Daliah is probably more corruptible in general, she's more impulsive than Melissa most of the time.
>>
As a side note, I've had 300+ hits to the smutbin.
>>
>>24778713
Yeah, but the question isn't who is more corruptible, but who is more likely to corrupt Keith.
>>
>>24778841
It's well done. The most recent one really felt like it was dovetailing with the story, especially with the Daliah/Melissa rivalry.
>>
>>24774198
Belated response to this: no, we didn't want her as a love interest and still don't, but we didn't want Daliah to have to kill her either. Yes, she's capable of it, but to kill someone she thought of as a childhood friend would be much worse than previously killing people she thought of as her enemies and the murderers of her family.
The truly glorious things about this quest have been the combination of an unexpectedly deep quest plot (as opposed to "Harvest Moon farming wat do?"), well-written characters, and a willingness to throw in the pile of shockingly detailed knowledge from your readers about farming, cooking, distillation, and other fascinating skills.
More specifically, not just plot, but that you actually took into account many of the same factors as Harvest Moon games: actual farming, interacting with the town, adding onto the house, romance, and adventuring. Plot, setting, characters, it fits the concept of a good Harvest Moon game.
I kinda took those half-jokingly. Seems more likely that a 100 would have helped her be a little less crazy sooner, so we might have had a little less tactical stabbing action later, but I honestly don't see this little threesome becoming any larger. I think we're already seeing the realistic side of having more than one love interest, in terms of having a third side of the triangle to deal with, and that problem has already become quite acute due to Keith's obtuseness.
Quite frankly, leaving aside the speed at which the courtships occurred (not entirely unnatural given the adventurous backdrop and what they've been through together), I think this is a more realistic portrayal of a more-than-two-person relationship than you'd ever expect from a quest, especially the post-marriage relationship.
It being stupid doesn't stop questers for trying for it though, we did have people actively pushing for staying at the farm during the witch hunt even after it was made perfectly clear that the waifus would have less than a 50/50 chance of making it without us.
>>
>>24780712
I saw a few people asking about staying and farming before that was mentioned, but there was very little time after it was stated to be a 50/50 shot and before we decided to go with them, and I don't see anyone actively suggesting we should still go with that 50/50 shot in that time.
>>
>>24780722
I just checked the archive to refresh my memory, and while it's true that no one posted about staying between the 50/50 post and the next plot post one of them did make a post standing by his previous decision.
>>
Right now we only have four trees, but if we end up doing some larger-scale long-term tree growing (which, unlike crops, is not seasonal in the growing, only in the harvesting), we might want to seriously consider espaliered trees. Major space savings, and more efficient to harvest.
Also, in planting the trees, we need to keep them far away from the foundations of the house; roots can cause serious damage, and we need to keep an eye out for runners.
>>
Here's a disturbing one for anyone who eats figs: figs, and fig trees for that matter, aren't actually vegetarian. Fig wasps don't live through the pollination process; they become a snack for the tree, and there are non-trivial amounts of fig wasp present in figs (enough that those with severe bee/wasp allergies are advised not to eat figs).
