Hey look! It's VALKYRIAN MERCS QUEST!Archive: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Valkyrian%20Mercs%20QuestPastebin: http://pastebin.com/y5vehknADon't know what Valkyria Chronicles is? Check it out here! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valkyria_ChroniclesYou are JAGER STURMFUHRER, leader of the fledgling mercenary company DEMONS OF RANDGRIZ. In addition to fighting Imps for money and vengeance, you have your own private mission to hunt down Karla, your former fiance who sided with the Imperials and destroyed your home. You've arrived in the Federation nation of Albion to help defend it against a possible amphibious attack. However, your boots barely hit the deck before you were assigned a mission to break up a spy ring. However, through a chain of extraordinary events, you not only smashed the spy ring apart, but also managed to capture an Imperial u-boat (mostly) intact, which you repaired and rechristened the Vergeltung. After rooting out more Imperial spies, you were sent out with the Vergeltung to investigate a possible staging point for Imperial infiltrators, only to find that it was a staging point for the entire Imperial invasion fleet. Thinking quickly, you came up with a daring (and crazy) plan to sink the Imperial flagship, the Lion of the Empire, which you somehow managed to pull off. However, despite their loss, the Imperials have pressed ahead with the invasion anyways. While defending the beaches, you've inflicted massive losses on the attacking Imps. You then drew the attention of their Commander, Sir Fleisher the Red Swallow. Playing to his pride and honor, you convinced him engage in a duel, which you managed to barely win. Defeated, Sir Fleisher agreed to pull back his forces, essentially ending the Empire's plans to invade Albion. After a pretty raucous victory party, you've been summoned by Lynch.>Might as well see what he wants.>Nope. Don't want to deal with that level 12 rage of his.>Other

>>24793913We ARE a professional, even if we can act a little...unconventional, at times. So, go see Lynch.
Merc, I think you forgot to update Julia's potentials.
>>24793913>Let's go get paid
>>24793913>Might as well see what he wants.Time to see his angry face
we need to steal some imperial gold one day....
>>24793913You sigh as you read the note. You were sort of expecting this to happen ever since you blew him off the other day, but that still doesn't mean you're looking forward to it.For once, you actually wake up rather late in the morning, so you assume that the rest of your squad is awake, in some form or another. Maybe you'd like to take a couple of them along? Just in case?>Yeah, let's bring some backup. [up to 2]>Nah, I can handle this myself.>Other

>>24794510You got something against Ramirez? Haven't you ever wanted to hear "Ramirez handle the situation diplomatically!"?
>>24794626Five minutes later, half of Albion is on fire. Ramirez starts writing apology letters.
>>24794626Sure, when I wanted a brawl....
>>24794234You suppose you can stay consistent and roll with Sam and Tarin again. You're pretty sure between all three of you, you'd be able to deal with any curveballs Lynch might try to throw at you.You find Sam where she usually is, in her "office" managing unit rosters and paperwork. It seems like the more assets you've been adding to the Demons, the more work she seems to get. However, she doesn't really seem to mind."Oh, hey Cap." Sam looks up from her desk. "Whatcha up to? Just gotta forge your signature on a few more papers...""Nothing incriminating, I hope." You grin."Nah, just clearing up some red tape." Sam shrugs. "What do you need?""Well, you see, I've got a meeting with Lynch...""...and you want me there to back you up in case things go south... again." Sam finishes for you. "Yeah sure I could help out."You don't even need to go find Tarin to ask her. She's already waiting outside the door. Honestly you're not even surprised at this anymore."It's that time again, huh?" She asks."Yep. Hopefully this is the last time I've got to deal with him in person.""We can only hope."By this point, you can find Lynch's headquarters pretty much by heart. You let yourself in, with nobody paying you any attention. As far as the AIS was concerned, the war was still on, so they still had plenty of work ahead of them. The same guard as last time is standing guard in front of Lynch's office. He gives you and Tarin a rather scary glare, but you respond with your own deathglare, almost daring him to start something. Deciding this wasn't a fight he could win, the guard steps aside and lets you pass, his scowl still evident on his face.Lynch's office is still the same as before, barebones and spartan. Lynch still looks mostly the same, though you can tell he's a bit less than pleased."You disappoint me, Captain Sturmfuhrer." Lynch says simply. "I was under the impression you would do anything to win this war.">What say?
>>24794626But, this Ramirez is a career soldier. His "diplomatic solution" probably involves "not" killing the other guy.
>>24794662The letters explode upon opening. It would appear that his fingers have remnants of explosives.
>>24794680"I'm pretty sure I did. With minimal bloodshed, might I remind you."
>>24794680"Winning this war coincides with my interests. It would appear you assumed otherwise."This is all about that vengeance.
>>24794680" Why the hell should I care if you are vaguely disappointed? My job is to keep Albion safe from the Imps, last I checked, the only reasons Sir Fleisher isn't picking his teeth with your bones are my men and I.
>>24794680"Disapointed? That's odd. Doesn't having a round of fisticuffs between men not count as 'anything'? Besides, didn't my way save many others lives? Hrrmm?"
>>24794680"My goal at the time was to prevent the invasion of Albion. I believe I accomplished that quite handily. I know this because Albion doesn't have Imperials marching through its cities right now.Now I could have kept Fleisher as a prisoner for you, and that would have had its advantages. However without the Red Swallow with them I believed many Imperials would have stood and fought instead of retreating. This would have led to us losing many more troops and quite possibly with them breaking through our lines in the places that I wasn't and doing serious damage to Albion in one way or another whether it be Albion's manufacturing, morale, or the number of men available to fight. You were horrendously unprepared for the invasion, I just gave you time to build up and actually attack."
>>24794820Damn is that one thorough telling off.
>>24794680>"I was under the impression you would do anything to win this war.""Lynch, exactly how much do you know about the Belkan knights? Not about their victories or their names. I mean how they're selected, how they're raised. The training that every soldier who wants to someday become a knight volunteers for--that's all of them by the way--and the vetting that each prospect undergoes before their name is even put forward for a position in the lowest tank crew. Add that to their delightfully old-fashioned notions of honor and duty and you get a corps of soldiers who would bite off their own tongue before talking under any form of duress you could devise."So yes, I would do anything to end this war, but my information was better than yours."
>>24794820I like this it tells him off thoroughly while still being somewhat polite to the guy signing our checks.
>>24794680"And I have.""Perhaps you were expecting me to keep the knight prisoner and let you have that feather in your cap, but I am a tactician, a leader of men, not a career bureaucrat. It is plain to see from the results of battle that the soldiers of the Empire had utter faith in the leadership of Fleischer and many would have ignored the results of the duel to rescue him. We would not have held that beach if that happened."
>>24794820>>24794888I think you guys have forgotten how the Imps ran with the tails between their legs the second Fleischer fell down.
>>24794905That was the deal we had with him. Our troops would have had to do the same if we had lost.
>>24794905They left because of the terms of the duel.
>>24794820You know, I can back this
>>24794920>>24794930The point.Your heads.
>>24794950Shhhhh. No one must know that you were joking. Ever.
>>24794905The ones on our front left after we beat up Fleisher, but we had no way of knowing if the ones on the other two fronts would just retreat happily without the Red Swallow telling them to retreat.
I wonder how much imperial weapons, gear and ammo we salvaged...
>>24795087Probably whatever the dead had on them.Personally, I think we should arrange for the bodies to be returned to the Empire for proper funerals. If that's not feasible, make sure they receive proper military funerals here in Albion. If we wanna subvert the entire nation of Belka, we gotta be honorable as fuck, and proper due to the dead is both honorable and easy.
>>24795087It was a retreat not a rout. They probably left destroyed or compromised equipment and picked up the wounded and those of the dead they could identify. I wouldn't bet that there's a massive amount of equipment to be had.>>24794935>>24794911...Aren't you referring to the same post?
>>24795169oh ya send the body's back with personal belongs
Fairly easy to just mention that letting him go will have in the long term effects on both Imperial morale. It sends a message back after the destruction of the lion that Albion has its shit together far better then it actually does if they can afford to just let him go. Makes imps more willing to surrender to him if they think they will be treated well. It was a battle field judgement call for the long term.
>>24795194Spiral and Spectral are 2 different namefags.
>>24795194They're different people, they just both have names that start with S and are two words.
>>24795211Probably misread the names.
Sam and Tarin seem to be shocked that you've gone on such a long winded speech which was basically a fancy way of telling Lynch to sod off.To his credit, Lynch seems to take it pretty well. He just sits there silently as you talk."You realize, Captain, that under the Federation Unified Military Code, which you are subject to under the terms of your contract, the unauthorized release of a prisoner of war can be considered treason." Lynch says calmly. You turn to Sam to check if he's just bullshitting you. However, the nervous look on her face suggest it is most definitely not."But, after that little show you put up there, I can't very well have you sent off to the firing squad." Lynch shakes his head. "I'm afraid this is the end of our arrangement. Albion is safe and we no longer require your services. I do hope you'll have more success in your future ventures."---"Well, I guess that could've gone better." Sam says as you walk out of the office."Not really. He was actually fighting the urge to throttle the Captain during that whole meeting." Tarin points out. (cont)
>>24795211Sorry, momentary lysdexia. The second after I hit Submit I saw the mistake.
>>24795246Its all good.
>>24795236we never work for lynch again....EVER!
>>24795291Spies are best avoided from now on, I think. Unrealistic expectations, and too many connections.
>>24795291I sure hope so
>>24795236He better not skip payment
>>24795291No we won't. Now all we have to do is find someone else to pilot our submarine. Or offer Davos permanent employment under an honorable officer.
Time to head to the south. There's imps to kill.
>>24795305we can work along side them just not take contracts from them
>>24795236I guess that means no more Parker then...Unless Lynch gets her to try and kill us
>>24795320Also, 'borrow' Qyburn.
>>24795326... provided they are not going to kill us. Either way, we need to make sure Beta isn't pilfering our office or something.
>>24795336So what your saying is...we nned to kill Beta first
>>24795236"You would've stopped him, right?" You ask."Fifty fifty." Tarin responds."Good to know.""I guess we'd better get ready to go, huh?" Sam says. "We got a lot to pack.""Wait..." You stop. "What'll happen to the Vergeltung?""Technically, even though Vergeltung's lease was handled by the AIS, the actual leaseholder is the Navy. I don't think they'll have any problems keeping that arrangement in place." Sam reassures you."Okay....""There's still Lieutenant Parker." Tarin points out."Right..." You frown.>We should go deal with Elizabeth.>Let's go check in on Qyburn.>Let's get the hell out of here before Lynch changes his mind.>Other
>>24795337Damn, no more Qybum.>>24795347Nah, she's a good person, I doubt she'll pilfer our office for their own secrets.
>>24795305Nah. Lynch isn't retarded and spy's are valuable assets so shouldn't really avoid them. Just let'em do their jobs and stay out of it.
>>24795347well the spy always has a knife ready to STAB you in the back with
>>24795367>Let's go check in on Qyburn.Buy as many upgrades as we can afford and then attempt a headhunt.
>>24795369Tell that to Oswald.>>24795367>Let's go check in on Qyburn. He's on the way. Then,>We should go deal with Elizabeth.
>>24795367>We should go deal with Elizabeth.I don't want to lose our adorable beret wearing spy.
>>24795367QyburnAlso where is our money?
>>24795367>Let's go check in on Qyburn QUICKLY>Let's get the hell out of here before Lynch changes his mind.
>>24795367>>We should go deal with Elizabeth.I know a lot of you guys don't like her, but she's a decent sort for a spy, better than Lynch anyway.
>>24795367Qybum, then Beta.>>24795401Thats different, and you know it.
>>24795404something tells me she will follow us like a lost puppy
>>24795367>We should go deal with Elizabeth.after collecting our pay
>>24795407>>24795315We all know what's gonna happen if he doesn't pay, don't we?
>>24795404Me either. I want to waifu so bad but karla..;_; That and pragmatically lynch is right we need info based units.
>>24795424No, I am not convinced. We barely know her, and her loyalty has yet to see a true test. I feel we will be finding out shortly.
>>24795369Oswald would disagree friend>Let's get the hell out of here before Lynch changes his mind.
>>24795454It's not even a waifu thing for me, I just think she's adorable, and incredibly useful.
>>24795447Nah, we'll just spread word to all the other merc groups that Lynch doesn't pay. Ruin their reputation and leave them open for invasion.
>>24795470Thats how they get you. They look as cute and gentleThen then stab/choke you when your back is turned
>>24795468Oswald had a reason to die and she hardly knew him. Be flat out retarded to mess with someone who is the national hero at the moment and gets the job done. Lynch may want to use us later on. He isn't stupid.
>>24795447We'll sing to him until he caves in and starts tossing a considerably larger sum at us just to make us leave?
>>24795502>mfw i'm already listening to that
>>24795497But half the reason I like her is because she's deadly and damn good at her job. She won't kill us unless she has a damn good reason to, and in some ways she might be questioning following Lynch, because Lynch is a dick.
>>24795502It'll be a just a cause as any.
>>24795534I think you guys are allowing the cuteness to cloud your judgement, we have absolutely no reason to believe she follows us over Lynch. None at all.
>>24795534>But half the reason I like her is because she's deadly and damn good at her job.And its for those reasons why I personally fear her.
>>24795553This. The only reason she's working with the Demons now is because Lynch told her to.
>>24795553Even if she does follow lynch why does it matter? We are just mercs anyway so it isn't like we have anything to hide and she is useful as hell.
Maybe she'll honor her promise?
then we give her a choice. The Demons or Lynch
Also guys before our next mission we should get lessons from Tarin in CQC.
>>24795581Addon. Just have to keep her possibile loyalty in mind when we use her. That's all.
>>24795581If you are asking me honestly why having a trained spy reporting on our actions to a foreign intelligence agent who dislikes us is bad, I am flabbergasted.>>24795604This I support. She breaks her word, we throw her out.
>>24795608Our fundamentals are a bit weak, aren't they?
>>24795523The surprise is......n't.
>>24795624True facts. We've gotten though all of our prior fisticuffs on nothing but piss and vinegar, which admittedly we have no shortage of, but some actual technique would sure be fucking useful.
>>24795604Thing about spys is, they can say they are with you and still betray you later. You can't put much faith in their words. Just like a politician
>>24795620Mainly it is because lynch isn't a idiot and she is useful. If you worry so much about that you might as well be worried about our squads loyalty because who says they are who they say they are. I don't mean truly trust her. I mean not throwing about a valuable asset we might have a chance to change to our side. In other words use her pragmatically like she plans us pure and simple.
>>24795643I advocate for Knifegun. Knifegun is what this quest needs.
>>24795711No. Make her choose. It's the best option. She's a hole in the organization otherwise.
>>24795726This. Though we will always have to have an eye on her even if she does 'leave' Lynch
>>24795726Then we lose the possible ties to the Albion AOE spy networks. We might be able to get something done with that tie as is. Though yeah at the base I agree with you.
>>24795726No true spy would leave their country with a merc group without orders.
>>24795762Yes, but at least then we can give her some level of trust.
Though right now this is kind of pointless. We really need to see what she does first then react to that.
>>24795777She'll say she has no orders. Doesn't mean they were not given. If you can't see the benefit to Lynch of keeping tabs on a Mercenary outfit with a god damn Uboat I cannot help you.
>>24795714Fuck yeah, knifegun.Knifegun with a Mauser M712 Schnellfeuer?
What's the consensus anyways?
>>24795367"We need to talk to Elizabeth, find out where she stands on this." You say. Both Sam and Tarin nod in agreement. It's not hard to find her. She's back in the hotel lobby, reading the exact same book she was last time you visited her there. "So... guess you're not in Lynch's good graces anymore, huh?" She says, not looking up from the book. "Now's going to be that awkward part where you question my loyalty and all, except there's going to be that whole fallacy in play where you'll assume I'm lying no matter what I say because that's what I'm supposed to do. So I'm just going to simplify this whole ordeal. Do you want me to stay or not?">Well?
>>24795821" Yes. But I need you to cut ties with Lynch if you want to stay on. It's that simple."
>>24795785Oh yes. I'm all for offering someone a chance, don't get me wrong. I would love keep her skills around. And showing her we 'trust' her, is a good idea for that
>>24795821"Yes."What about the waddlin' man?
>>24795821"Oh, you're good."
>>24795821I for one want her to stay.
It's better to have her close where we can see her instead of somewhere else.
>>24795821"Up to you. I'm just gonna stop second-guessing things for now and just roll with whatever comes up."
>>24795809They already go the info about the U-boat and we are only 8-9 people not a whole frontier.>>24795821"Stay. But promise not to send Lynch any info on us." That way if she catch her doing so we will know something is up.
>>24795821"I like you to stay on. You had proven that we could use someone with your talents when we sunk the Lion. But you would know how short of leash you'd be on, right?"
>>24795821"Thanks for clearing all of that up, it makes thing much easier when people are blunt about this sort of thing.I would like you to stay. The Demons like you, you're good at your job, and you have great choice in hats."
>>24795821>>24795832This it's the only way we can remotely trust her. >>24795883Your a fucking retard
>>24795832This, but we need to make sure she looks us in the eye. See what direction her eyes go to see if sh is lying
>>24795900She killed a man, and is a trained spy. She is not going to have obvious tells.
>>24795821"Depending on two things, I'd like it if you stayed on. One's that you're going to have to cut ties with the AIA, the other's whether you think you could live with yourself if you joined up."
>>24795821"Miss Parker, I would like you to stay, if you're willing to. But I understand that won't be easy for you, seeing how you're sworn to defend Queen and Country. So I want you to ask yourself, can you put the good of the company ahead of the good of Albion? If we're lucky, it'll never come to that, but I'm not going to get my people killed unless we're getting paid for it."Turn that around on her.
>>24795817Can we combine it with a trench knife for maximum styling?
>>24795914Never hurts to look for them anyway
>>24795932I can because faking tells is easy for a well trained spy.
>>24795920That seems counter intuitive to using a gun.
>>24795832>>24795900If she's going to report back to Lynch it doesn't matter if we ask her not to, she can do it under our nose if need be, and if she isn't going to do it then there is no point in asking. It doesn't really accomplish anything.
>>24795937IT no I fuck.
>>24795951what part of >>24795643 do you not get?
>>24795953We are here, asking for her word not to.This way, we can give her the benefit of the doubt. If she ever betrays us, we will have a right to remove her from the organization.
>>24795972Having all your fingers in a fixed position isn't going to make using a gun very easy.
>>24795898She's turned this into a yes or no decision. Either we admit we find her a valuable asset that we want to keep and to a certain extent even trust her or we admit the opposite. Either way she gets an idea of what we think of her and we don't get any idea of what she thinks of us.If we turn it around and make it her decision that changes that.
Hell personally I would just say she can send anything but stuff about us back. No real reason to withhold info on the Imperial movements we see because we hate the Imps anyway. We really just don't want private info sent back.
>>24795821"I'd like you to stay, I really do." You say. "You bring some useful skills to the Demons. But I need you guarantee that you won't stab us in the back just because Lynch tells you to. I don't care if you have to ignore his orders, or just quit AIS entirely. If you feel you have to turn on us, I want it to be over your own conscience, not somebody else's."Elizabeth stays quite for a second.>roll 1d20
Rolled 14>>24796049Oh boy.
>>24796049oh dear dice gods don't fail us now.
Rolled 5>>24796049'ere we go.
Make her cut her ties with lynch.Guys, remember that if she misbehaves, the pimp hand will keep her in line!
>>24796049Hey, no one voted for that, but fuck consensus, right?
>>24796071Yeah, I REALLY wanted the simple question here. Not sure how we ended up saying that.
>>24796080Consensus was to take her in, but cut her ties to Lynch. This is the natural course of action that decision goes to.
>>24796071Son, there are women you can keep in line with the pimp hand. But then there are women who will garrote you while your back is turned. Which do you think our supers-py is?
>>24796128Yes indeed. She misbehaves, explosives and bullets will be more appropriate.
>>24796128Ooh! Ooh! The second one! The second one!
>>24796137Yep. And we'd still have to watch our backs after she was dead.>>2479614210 points for Gryffindor.
>>24796128The kind we keep in line by shooting out the torpedo tube?
>>24796171...but... but I'm in Hufflepuff.
>>2479618610 POINTS TO GRYFFINDOR, AND IF YOU SAY ANOTHER GOD DAMN WORD I'M TAKING 50 FROM SLYTHERIN.
>>24796137>>24796171You guys really suck with this spy business yo in that situation you send back false info though proxy.
>>24796207...Another god damn word.
>>24796210I would, but personal betrayal must be met with blood. This is Jager we're talking about.
>>24796230And thanks to your efforts, GRYFFINDOR WINS THE HOUSE CUP!
>>24796252I did something useful! I did something useful!
>>24796246Eh. I think he would see far enough ahead to notice that killing someones spy only alerts them they know making them more subtle next time. Isn't like karla who he knew for years before hand.
>>24796284>Down Periscope oh god yes!
>>24796309If someone violates their word given, I think he would not want them continuing on in any capacity. He's not the type for such subterfuge.
>>24796284anyone who betrays us at sea walks the plank now!
>>24795988Shh. No logic now, only knifegun.>>24796210She knows we know about her. We can only feed her false info if she doesn't know she's been compromised, she's only going to send information she can independently verify.Honestly, for a merc commander? Safest thing for us to do is claim we trust her and then arrange for her to die in combat immediately, even if we have to do it ourselves.
>>24796284So you're saying that if she betrays us we should force her to walk the...plank?
>>24796059"Okay, I guess we can work with that." Elizabeth sighs. "Look, just to put this forward, I can't just 'cut ties' with Lynch or the AIS. Spy goes rogue, and joins up with some random mercs. You realize how bad that makes everybody look? The best I can do is give Lynch just enough intel to keep him satisfied. As long as he gets something out of it, he won't complain."You nod. It makes sense from what you've seen of the man."Okay, but understand this. If I have ANY reason to suspect you're going to go against us, you're out of the Demons, one way or another.""Roger that."Well, that was a lot easier than you thought. Still, you make it a point to keep a little closer eye on her in the future."I guess that's one knife in the back dodged." Your reactions the the development that we did during a side quest, via player action, was, We cant trust her, Shoot her in the head asap. She was effected hard by the kill, who wouldnt, she was trained, and prepared to kill, but it's still rough. She's Human, and it showed. I'd rather we work with someone who could cry after fooling someone with a honey pot.Not to mention, if Jager ever learned about the tale from he, he'd very likely understand Completely.Karla aside, he was a very influencial noble in a powerful house. If his family didnt warn him of sly woman using their charms on him for gain they didnt do a good job raising him. That in turn is the inverse, a noble is also taught to strive towards that gain through their own seduction and persuasion. Its underhanded, but, Understandable.Regardless, she hasnt given us much to trust her, But, her background can only benefit us. Why would Jager want to tell her about Karla? So, he can learn more about what happened. She could possibly find some of his family if any made their escape, or, find Imperials who took part in the attack, who we could track down and ambush. And Parker knows just how to interrogate. Afraid of the spy? Maybe be a little Afraid of Tarin, the woman who kills without batting an eyelash. We do seem to be slowly seducing her by accident, so less cause for concern there.

>>24797698>mortar and 88
>>24797698>Mortar TeamMore useful for are small team.>88mm CannonNot even a question.
What's the difference between a mortar and a howitzer?
Question, Commander! Does the armor upgrade only apply to Scouts or is it teamwide? I ask because I just started playing VC2 again (sue me I have a commute) and I recall that armors are shared across certain unit branches.
ACHT ACHT UND MORSER TEAMBetween Sam and Julia our AT capabilities are quite thin.We don't need a howie since we're quite a mobile team, mortars are far more suited to our needs since we're closer to mech infantry, role wise than straight infantry which howitzers can expect to provide good support for. Besides High Angle fire = lob over cover = good for clearing out baddiesUnless ofc those howitzers are fucking 25 pounders.
>>24797853Range, power, and portability
>>24797858OP has stated all upgrades are teamwide unless otherwise stated. Also, pretty sure he mentioned that we are having no VC2.
We also already bought the advanced steel alloy for our tank. So durability wise we are decent right now on durability.Next pay day we should try and get Trauma Plates, Howtzer team, Mags, and scope I'm thinking.
>>24797858Trauma Plates will apply to all soldiers.>>24797853Mortars are big boom. Howitzers are even bigger boom.
>>2479769888mm cannon. As much as I'd like a mortar team, our upkeep is kinda hefty atm.
>>24797901Will the Mortar teams get different types of ammo? Smokes, WP, etc...
Keeping our mobility up might be a bit harder with the mortars, but I suppose we could add a bustle rack to our tank that could carry the mortars around (but not the ammo). Also we should ask Q about possible torpedo upgrades. Floating torpedoes for shallow water would allow us to hit anything in water 3 feet deep.
>>24797929No smokes for mortars... yet. Smoke rounds are a relatively new development in VC. They just have the standard explodey ammo right now.
>>24797901>>24797892Much obliged. Only mentioned VC2 because it's what I'm playing when I'm not playing Soul Hackers.Regardless, changing my vote to mortarers and Trauma Plate.

>>24798091For time being until we hit our next mission area. Also need to looking building Mother Base.
>>24797698Voting for the 88 and perhaps the mortars if we can devise a way of mechanizing them. I don't like having things that cannot move. Hell, I would be down for the howitzer if we could mount it to some manner of mobile chassis, a la M109.

Can't we just put mortars on the tank?
>>24798215No. Half-track sure.
>>24798038>>24798165Depends on the size of the mortars I guess. Back in WW2 they used to have tiny light mortar tubes the size of a tall water bottle. They were so small that the user had to judge the angle by eye. Guys, I don't think we got enough cash to be increasing our upkeep any further then it already is. I'm all for increasing the tanks firepower, but maybe we should hold off for a bit on the mortars?

>>24800205No one can be that bro so no issue here.. Judeau is basically the patron god of being a bro.
>>24799769Also, I'm voting for this.Because.
NAME: Silvia CastalaniGENDER: FemaleCLASS: EngineerPERSONALITY: SoldierBRIEF BACKGROUND: An Ustian daughter of a greengrocer, Silvia went into engineering to escape the small town she was born in. After an Empire-sponsored insurgent movement bombed her university, killing her comrades and teachers, Silvia joined the Alliance army corps, clearing mines and building fortifications on the central front. The experiences there has left her resentful of nobles and with a firm belief that chivalry is a foolish notion that is best discarded on the battlefield. Silvia has somewhat of a "sixth sense" when it comes to detecting mines.
>24799806>Name: Kirk Sampson>Gender: Male>Class: Engineer>Personality: Valiant, but polite. But has a forgettable presence, enemies often consider him a lesser threat until it's too late. Even his allies tend to forget he exists, much to his annoyance!>Background: Raised as a lumberjack in eastern Cascadia (that's across the ocean eh?) Kirk volunteered for the Expeditionary Corps and has served across Albion and much of the Federation. Discharged after his unit was considered too understrength to continue fighting, Kirk turned to mercenary work rather than return home or join the navy. Has an impenetrably dense Cascadian accent and tries to compensate by gesturing a lot while speaking.
>>24800233Do you know much about fanfiction? A quick rule for telling good stuff from shit that you get one crossover if it's a small crossover and if the two franchises share thematic elements. This quest's cross is Ace Combat, and no actual characters from AC have shown up. This is good, and it works because AC's setting is similar enough to VC's that the elements we're referencing (Belka) fit into Europa without much rewriting.Nanoha in this would be a great example of a bad crossover. She is from a setting with completely different philosophy behind its creation, and the themes her franchise represents--magical girls and lesbianism--are nothing like those in Valkyria Chronicles unless VC4 goes horribly wrong. Nor would her presence be a small reference either, she's either the magical girl herself in which case she's going to be horribly out of place, or she's a completely different character from this setting, in which case what is she doing out of the Japan equivalent?See >>24800060 for doing a reference right; a new character with an image that instantly brings to mind character tropes associated with the source character.Speaking of which, well done 24800060. You've got my vote.
NAME: Karla?GENDER: FemaleCLASS: LancerPERSONALITY: SoldierBRIEF BACKGROUND: A daughter of a former general. She retreated into her delusions due to having seen her entire family killed in front of her eyes. Though her mind is not entirely together her skill with a weapon has not been dulled.
>>24800743>lesbianismOh come on, that's just the yuri goggles talking! There's nothing at all suspect about the friendship between these two!On a more serious note, a character who's a walking reference to Signum could MAYBE work if it were handled very well (basically doing something similar to what >>24800060 did, and even then it would be hard to get right), because her core personality (proper and devoted knight) can fit the setting.
>>24800823her name would cause all the akwards
>>24800743>magical girls and lesbianism...You've never even watched the series haven't you?>she's a completely different character from this setting, in which case what is she doing out of the Japan equivalentAnd you most certainly never even read the profile.Seriously, can you get any more anal about this?
>>24800823I stuck here wondering if you gave her that name on purpose or not.
>>24800829There IS a point where subtext becomes text I think...But yeah, you've got the right of it. A new character with Signum as her base would work fine.
>>24800879>Jager has one of those dreams again>Wakes up screaming KARLAAAAAAAA with a cry of pure rage>New Karla shits herself having no idea what the fuck is going on
>>24799738No love for Costanza?
>>24800926>There IS a point where subtext becomes text I think...That's the joke. They live together and adopted a daughter. Nanoha spends the entire first season's "previously on" and "next time" segments describing Fate as having "sad and beautiful eyes".Hell the ONLY straight women in all of the TSAB are Lindy and Amy. Apparently Harlaown cock is magical.
>>24801060What about that loli on the StrikerS team?
>>24801081Okay yeah, you're right, there are three. My mistake. However, Subaru's gayness more than makes up for Caro's lack thereof.
Using Nanoha's image for a character is is one thing. Not terribly creative (completely different setting, and Nanoha is anything but mercenary/tanker), but ok I guess.Using her exact name and not even TRYING to change it or scramble it is another. That's just bad.I'd recommend changing the name, doing away with the Nanoha image reference, and just make a nice original-ish character, like several others have.
>>24801587Yeah, I can tolerate ripoffs/ports of existing characters, but 1:1 copypastes really push it.
>>24799534>Name: Alessio De Luca>Gender: Male>Class: Engineer>Personality: Soldier. Pyromaniac, wants to shoot fire at everything. Enough enthusiasm to generate its' own gravity well. Suffers from tunnel vision when confronted with an engineering problem, to the detriment of his ability to not get shot.>Brief background: Darcsen Osean reservist who was denied reenlistment and incentivized to do industrial work. Concluded 'fuck that noise' and emigrated to Ustio, currently seeking employment as mercenary.
Alright, I'm done arguing, if people don't like it, people don't like it. And I could see your point. So I'll try again.>>NAMEIsolde Reinhardt>>GENDERFemale>>CLASSLancer of Tanker>>PERSONALITYStoic and devoted to her knightly code of honour, Isolde nevertheless is deeply loyal to her comrades. She is also extremely embittered over her current situation, especially against the noble responsible for her charges of treason.>>BRIEF BACKGROUNDBorn into a long line of Belkan knights and a highly decorated veteran of the first Europan War (though many have commented that she doesn't look it), Isolde's rise to the top was meteoric, and it was rumored that she would soon earn the title of Grandmaster of the Order, something few females have ever achieved. Her promising career was abruptly cut short when she slew the son of a prominent Imperial noble in a duel over a serious disagreement on prisoner treatment. The erstwhile noble's father, a confidant of the king, enraged over his son's death had her charged with treason, forcing her to flee to Gallia. Bitter and set on revenge, she took up arms against the nation she would've once given her life to serve.
>>24802015Fuck, make that Lancer OR Tanker.
>>24802015Much improved, except for the part where we've already got an EW1 vet who doesn't look her age driving the tank we've already got. Still. HUGE improvement.>Lancer of Tanker...D rank luck?
>>24802015decent enough, but I think it comes too close to the backstories/roles of two well established characters
