Welcome back, hopefully this isn't too late a start to draw the smart crowd. Last we left, we had just not died like a pig in a slaughterhouse on our kitchen floor, and then Daliah took Rezna into town to visit people, and see the clinic. Melissa had come into the bedroom wearing something lewd, and sex occurred in the smutbin. http://pastebin.com/6M7BVxKJ It's not a big addition, but feel free to read. ~~~~~~~~As you lie in bed, enjoying the post coital glow, you idly wonder where Daliah is. It's well past dark now, which probably means she's staying in town with Rezna. It's not a big deal, but you're used to the bed being fuller than this. You cuddle closer to Melissa as a result, and she makes happy noises. [ ] Talk to Melissa about the strained relationship between her and Daliah, be specific in what you want to say[ ] Go to town looking for Daliah[ ] Other
I really need to stop posting the porn in the OP. I've been told this, too, so it's doubly my own fault.
Well...guess it's not happening tonight.
Hey OP.Im really happy i finally caught the thread. Long time HM fan. Ive been following and voting up the threads since #1 on suptg. Love the quest. Wont be able to participate much, which is a shame because i have lots of input to provide. I have a professional background in horticulture, so maybe i can drop a pastebin with some info or thoughts?Keep doing your thing!
You should start posting a link to the archives in the OP
>>24796780I feel like that would only discourage posting further, and god knows I don't need that.
>>24796752It's nice to have fans. A shame you can't participate though. Feel free to pastebin anything you want.
>>24796587Lets pick Melissas brain. How does she like her life here? What are her hopes, goals, wants? Get everything. Have a big heart to heart. Discuss Daliah. We love both of them, seperately yet equally, as well as together. Maybe suggest an outing for the two of them to bond a bit?
>>24796825Im going to participate as much as I can.B-but its not like i like your quest or smut or anything, baka goddess!
>>24796318For discussing the strained relationship between Melissa and Daliah I would like them both here. But since we're cuddling with our sweetheart let's talk to Melissa, not necessarily about her and Daliah, but about her. Ask about her past, if she's happy now, what she wants, her hopes and dreams, all of that. And cuddle the fuck out of her.
>>24796952Bitches love cuddling.
>>24796952Actually, on second thought, scratch some of that.We should probably talk to her individually about her and Daliah. But first we cuddle a lot, and talk just about her, we'll bring up her and Daliah after that, but start by paying attention to the woman in our arms and not someone else.
Just got an idea -Its winter, right? Would that mean some sort of Christmas or New Years analogue may be coming up, OP? They were a nice part of the games, and it could be a good way to interact with the town and the girls. No pressure (quest is great already) just an idea. We could bring Santa to these people. Sneak into houses. Deliver gifts. Muahahaha.
>>24796318>Talk to Melissa about the strained relationship between her and Daliah, be specific in what you want to say"Melissa, I know that I don't make it any easier for either of you, but I need to talk to you about you and Daliah. You and her seem to be fighting more and more now."
>>24797117You bring up an excellent point that I had been mulling over the last few days myself. I made a harvest moon world without festivals. Should I have keith introduce his own, or spontaneously add traditional ones, or ____?I'm leaning towards adding real world holidays myself.
Am I the only one who thought it was super fucking retarded to give the corrupting blood amulet back to the girl who, just a few days ago, finely broke free from it? I mean, the first thing she did when we gave it to her is STAB US IN THE FUCKING THROAT!
>>24797391Why not both.jpgThe town should have some small celebrations (weddings, birthdays, harvest days, i wanna get drunk days) that you should feel free to fudge at your whims. Maybe they release lanterns at the river? Have crab eating contests? Build jenga towers out of corn husks?Other times, maybe we could vote on keith trying to liven things up? I think it would be nice for our wives to stumble upon our old customs and traditions via conversations as time goes on. Seems romantic. Anyone else have any thoughts?
>>24797482But in a good way!But seriously, I promise I won't kill you off without at least two warning posts, so don't overthink the choices, there's nearly no meta.
>>24797482Yeahhhhhh.... About that... When i was reading that in the archives i was facepalming everywhere. I think we should encourage her to learn more traditional healing, as others suggested. It should help her mentally to have a skill she can feel proud of and be helpful with. The amulet is bad news.
>>24797391Well speaking in general terms pretty much everyone is going to share some number of common holidays even if they're under different names. You're going to have fall ones at the end of harvest season to celebrate the bounty from nature, you'll have one at each of the solstices, the winter solstice to celebrate the longest night and the return of the sun, spring ones for the return of life to the world, summer ones tend to involve bonfires, being outside, and other revelling, fall ones are tied into the harvest festivals. The other holiday times are more individualized for a certain culture or region, things based wholly in religion or the remembrance of certain events or people. Those you'll have to make up.
>>24797521I know you won't kill us without a fighting chance, but I still suspect this will backfire horribly.Anyway, since there are people finally here, will we play? I've been waiting all night for this quest bro. Maybe you should set up a time to start to avoid confusion and disappointment.
>>24797482>>24797571Sometimes it feels like I'm the only rational person left.
>>24797641Yeah, we're playing, I'm just a slow typer. As for a start time, I'm afraid my life is rather hectic. Roughly 9:30 to 12:00 EST some days.
>>24797641I would set up a twitter account if OP started announcing thread start times. I acknowledge the fact that OP doesnt owe me shit, tho
>>24797716I owe you all a great deal, don' t sell yourselves short.
>>24797699Type faster or Ill go Daliah on your ass.I kid.
>>24797742You'll fuck him in a muddy hole?
"Melissa honey, while I have your full attention...can we talk?" Melissa tenses up. "Y-you're not leaving me for that new Rezna girl, are you?" You suppress a laugh, and stroke her hair. "No, silly. Never. I want to talk to you about the relationship you and Daliah have." Melissa tenses up, then relaxes again. "I'll be honest with you Keith, I don't fully trust her, and she doesn't fully trust me. I think she puts her precious relics, and now Rezna, above you and your health. She probably thinks I'm a self absorbed sex toy, too dumb to do much else. But you know better, don't you Husband?" Contrary to her words, Melissa grinds into you generously. "I know you put my life above everything else, honey, it's completely obvious to me. I trust you implicitly. As do I trust Daliah. I know her motives may seem a little...muddled sometimes, but you have to believe in me who believes in her. Understand?"Melissa shakes her head a bit. "No, Keith, I don't. I won't allow her to put you in danger anymore. You've told me about these Relics, and while some of them, like Providence, have come in handy, some others, like that damn medallion are so dangerous. You could be killed in your sleep if Rezna gets her hand on it. How many other evil trinkets like that exist? Why do we even WANT to gather them?" Melissa pauses, gathering her thoughts. She's a bit cold, now, as though afraid of something. "Keith, listen to me. I know we've built a life here, the farm is huge, the animals healthy, the crops good, barring evil storms. But that's nothing, really. Our lives are all that matter. With life, and hope, and years, we could do this anywhere. We could leave New Bounty, you and I. We could search for a new town, or hell, even found one ourselves. I'd bear you dozens of children and we'd settle somewhere nice, and safe. We could live out our many years happily and simply. There'd be less adventuring, maybe, but not none. We could explore for ores, or for other settlements."
With tears in her eyes, Melissa turns to you. "Just no more damned magical weapons of mass destruction! Please Keith, I don't want to lose you again and again to some otherworldly....BULLSHIT! Why can't we just go somewhere and farm!? Why!?"She's really serious. [ ] Well, we could just leave, I suppose. It'd be an adventure going somewhere, but you'd have to start fresh.[ ] Talk her down, it's gonna be just fine here.[ ] Other
>>24797809Kuso Miso Technique, lol.
>>24797809>>Youll fuck him in his dirty hole.Ahhh, not what i was alluding to. But close enough!
>>24797888Well fuck. Would we leave with just Melissa?
>>24797954That's the deal. She'll remain utterly loyal to you, and you'll continue on as a pair, but Daliah would be left behind. If you ever saw her again, it would not be on friendly terms.
>>24797888>again and again to some otherworldly bullshit.Woah,Woah,Woah. Bitch, you be getting all Meta here. Explain that shit now.Besides, I think there's a whole bunch of Silent Hill fog that makes it so we can't leave.
>>24797888Lets talk her down, and promise to try to cut down relic hunting to the off season. I wanna farm too!
>>24797999Rezna killed you, or nearly, then brought you back with the medallion. Also, the fog only prevents you from getting to the city you came from. There's plenty of world to see otherwise.
>>24797986Im too biased for this, I much prefer Melissa. But I do think the Relic thing may have gone far...
>>24797999>getting all Meta here. And then Yellowman and company decide to drop in on our little farming community, and next thing you know you're fighting for your life against a Mobster and his Muscle while a Smurf and Bolter Bitch chase you from behind.
>>24798057Yeah, but again and again implies she's lost us more then once. If it was only that time, she would have just said "she didn't want to lose us again."
>>24798077You were dying when you met, if that makes you feel better. Poor writing, or accidental plot drop? You decide!
>>24798036This sounds reasonable. As well, the town needs a doctor. We'll get Renza to learn normal skills, besides it gives Daliah something to focus on other then relics.
>>24797888Hmm. Gonna have to talk her down from this carefully... Hold her, reassure her, but be firm. "Darling, i know you say these things partly out of your immense love for me, and partly out of fear, but we must all work hard to keep ourselves in control of our own lives. We cant let fear or anger cloud our thoughts. In a way, we would be like Rezna under the amulet. Speaking of the amulet, i understand your apprehension. Thats partly why i think we should collect them. They are dangerous, and we might keep them out of the wrong hands. Whats more, its very important to Daliah. Now, im not putting her above you, thats why i suggest we sit down and talk about this. You deserve to be heard. I cant agree to leave our new home just yet, but what else would you suggest we do?"
>>24798103It makes me worried she's experiencing this with some kind of save game function, and every time we die she reloads to try and keep us alive. ...Like all those shit rolls when we met Rezna. What if Melissa actually experienced those.
>>24797888>[ ] Talk her down, it's gonna be just fine here."Melissa, I love you, and I love Daliah too. I won't leave her just as much as I won't leave you."I suppose we also need to explain our desire to gather the Relics, not because we want adventure, and not even as just an obligation for Daliah, but because items of power like that, just out there for people to find and abuse, we saw too much of that back in our old world.
>>24798061If you want a silly thread after we conclude the whole tale, I can drop all the relics on Keith, and we can have him toe to toe with a tac squad. He'll probably wind up marrying the Sororitas and teaching her to farm.
>>24798155Oooh, that WOULD be interesting. You guys are much better writers than I am.
>>24798162Best Wife. We can purge the heretics together with the flames of love.
>>24798162Keith attracts the attention of an employer, who is looking for some employees with unique skills. The right man in the wrong place, after all, makes all the difference in the world.
>>24798178You dont give yourself enough credit. You run a tight quest.
>>24797888[X] Talk her down, it's gonna be just fine here."Sweetheart, I promise that I will not die, no matter what I will come back to you. And I also promise that I will make our farm prosperous through my blood, sweat, and tears no matter what. It will have orchards of trees, fields of crops, a barn full of animals, and a distillery producing the finest alcohol around. I promise you this. But I am not leaving Daliah for you in the same way I will never leave you for Daliah. You remember what we went through together to obtain these rings. That did not produce two different marriages, I am not married to you and also married to Daliah, all three of us are bound together in the same way, we all belong to each other. And this is why I wanted to talk to you about this. You're jealous of her in some ways and she's jealous of you. I am not comfortable with the loves of my life being separated from each other in that way, with my loves bickering and fighting. This isn't right, when the two of you fight it hurts me to see your hurt each other. You're both beautiful and wonderful and I just wish you could see that, I wish you could see that my love for one of you doesn't diminish in the least my love for the other, and that you should love each other not fight each other. As for the Relics, there are two reasons behind me seeking to help gather them when I can. The first is their power, whether it is the type that will improve our lives, or the type that ushers in destruction, for the first it is for us, for the second it is because I do not want them free in the world to hurt others. But the second part is because of what they are a part of. This world has so much wrong with it, what happened to Rezna, the fog that leads travelers here, the people of your village, and so many more tragedies. The Relics are part of the Harvest Goddess, and should they all be gathered and sacrificed properly she will be whole again, the world will be whole again."
>>24798178I enjoy this quest, give yourself more credit. Also, I appreciate how you're not above writing fapbait, but then politely put it in a pastebin out of kindness to those who may not want to read it. I'm just a guy giving ideas to the GM to piss off the rest of the party.
>>24798158>>24798125>>24798036You plan your next words carefully. "Listen, Melissa. I'm going to tell you a story. Where I'm from, some years ago, we had a war. It was big, and involved about 80% of the world. Various world leaders acquired technology that could be fairly called Relics in their own right, these were weapons of great power. Imagine a house made of steel, killing everything in sight. Now imagine one that flew like a bird, and dropped rocks that made enormous craters and set towns on fire. That and more was used over, and over, and over again. Finally, one last relic was uncovered, and one of the leaders used it to subdue the entire world in fear for decades."Melissa is silent, eyes wide as she takes it all in. "Now, imagine, all those relics were collected by one trustworthy person, and hidden away, or destroyed if possible. Sure, people still die in wars, but not nearly as many as do when Relics run rampant. I don't want this world, wherever it is, to become like my old one. I want to collect the relics, and keep them safe against the wicked people in the world. I trust myself, and I trust you, and I trust Daliah to do this. No one else. Will you not help me?"
Rolled 1>>24798267Rolling for how much i appreciate Goddess who is awesome
>>24798351>Rolled 1Not very much it seems.
>>24798320Could we also work in the "make the Harvest Goddess whole again, to prevent the tragedy of Old Bounty and Shady River"?
"Also, Daliah thinks that if we sacrifice the Relics, we could resurrect the Harvest Goddess. Imagine what that could do for the world."Without hesitation, Melissa replies. "My life is yours, Keith. It always has been, and it always will. I can't promise you that I'll agree with Daliah, and if she does something that puts you in harm without explaining herself first, I will stop her. But other than that, I will be the faithful, obedient wife you deserve." With that, Melissa rolls back over, and pushes back into you. "Now, let us enjoy a little personal time, shall we? I don't mind sharing you, but I do like our time together. Try to spend more with me, yes?"~~~~~~~The next morning, you awake to a dull grey sky. It's snowing lightly outside, you note. Rolled 13You decide the primary main objective must be obtaining breakfast. You head to the barn to see if any chickens have laid this morning, you feel like eggs. ~~Knocking around the barn you find d20 eggs, and hardboil them. You feel like they'd go better with salt, but you don't have any. Perhaps you could introduce salt to the village. Where might you find salt, you wonder?
>>24798519I propose that sometime soon we have family game night. Charades could be fun. OP could describe their actions, we guess ourselves or roll for foolishness?

Rolled 9>>24798632Not a bad idea. Do you want to run a quest inside a quest?

>>24798613hmmmm. if we are capable of doing rudimentary geological surveys, we might be able to find a salt deposit... (and probably oil as well)
Rolled 8>>24798718>find saltGo on>find oilNow you're gonna tell me there's easily reached near surface deposits that don't require years of grinding to render useful.
>>24798613Well there are two basic ways to get salt. The first is to find rock salt and mine it, that seems like a pain in the ass. I mean not only do we have to locate it, which isn't the hardest thing, just look for an evaporated lake or the like, and then the fun part of digging it out of the ground. The second is to find salt water, given that we aren't near the ocean that'll be a bit more difficult, and evaporate it.
>>24798748>we aren't near the oceanu shur bro?
>>24798801Very well, let me correct myself. We haven't seen the ocean yet and its location relative to our farm is a completely unknown quantity that ought to be investigated at some point.
>>24798801...we didn't see it on the map you provided, and no one in town has talked about it.

>>24798874Water you talking about bro? I laked your pun but I'm not entirely shore why you made it.
Satiated by the bakers dozen eggs, you move outside once more. The snow is beautiful, though it does render an entire season irrelevant for the farm. You don't see your wives anywhere, so you do what you always do when you're bored, and head into town. You pat your chest to make sure that the medallion is still there, though you can easily feel it's weight. ~~~~~~~The first place you go is the General Store, to collect the extra coin they owe you. It significantly ups your cash flow, which is always a nice feeling. You ask after your wives, but they haven't seen Daliah since yesterday.Moving on to the pub, you have some old cider and speak to the barkeep about gossip. He mentions that there's a strange girl in the town clinic with Daliah, offering services. With that in mind, you thank him, and head out. Who knew the bartender in a dry town would have useful information? ~~~Arriving at the clinic, you find you have to get in line. Daliah has rounded up about half the village, easily, and is telling them to wait around to be seen for a stiff leg here, a scratch there, a fever there. You wave to her, but she's so busy she doesn't see it. You decide to just jump the line, and enter the clinic anyhow. Inside, Rezna sits on a short stool next to a bed, where the blacksmith lays. "I burned myself rather badly the other day, and it hurts like a bastard." Rezna nods, expressionless, then turns to a bookshelf, choosing a book slowly. Flipping to a page from the index, she reads slowly, "chew bark from such and such a tree, then spit on the wound. Do this every day until you like it." She closes the book, and dismisses the smith with a nod. The next villager lays down in turn, and begins his litany of woe. Deciding everything here is in hand, you plan your next move.[ ] What do?
>>24798859Your post reminded me of pic related. It's subtle, inn'it?
>>24798993Before we go interrupt Daliah and give her a kiss, or several kisses, because we love her. Ask if she knows where our other wife is and let her know we're starting mead production later today.
>>24798993Give Daliah a quick hug and kiss as soon as she's done with the person she's talking to, and tell her that we have a few things left to do in town and will see her back home.Ask around for Melissa. Also make a note to go and collect barks of certain trees that have medicinal value.
You bade Daliah a fond farewell as you leave, surprising her, but she's quickly back to flogging the line into shape. She must really want the clinic to succeed as a part of the village. No one seems to have seen Melissa though, so you head back to the farm. Gotta make mead, you suppose. It'll perk Melissa up, regardless, to have liquor in the future.~~~~~~Once home, you head down to the root cellar. There you find the large jars of honey, and the fermentation kit you bought earlier this year. There's a small instructions sheet, and after a few quick reads you think you have it down. So much fresh water, so much honey, and so much yeast. You mix it all, more or less as the instructions read, and then put the lid loosely on the barrel. With that done, your time is once again free. You're starting to wonder about Melissa, so you head into the house to see if she left a note. Aw. Fuck. Fuuuuuuuck.
>>24799220>Aw. Fuck. Fuuuuuuuck.Aw fuck, that doesn't sound good.
"Dear Keith,Since you won't stop without retrieving all those damn Relics, (not blaming you, you made your point quite well), I figured I could help you recover some of them. >>24799329The problem is that if we go back to town to get Daliah, we may lose Melissa's trail.
>>24799385No, best tracker is DOG! Hopefully. Okay, we need the dog, it might be able to smell her, then look for tracks in the snow, and try to remember any locations, general or otherwise, that Daliah gave on Relics to give us a starting point on what direction to go.Remember to leave a note for Daliah saying that Melissa had a fit of madness and we're out grabbing her, that she shouldn't worry and we'll be back soon.

>>24799536He would be better at it than the shepherd dog.Has Daliah given us specific known locations of any Relics lately?

>>24799578Alright, we'll go towards the mountains, then.Include that information in the note to Daliah.Make sure we've got the knife, rations, the dog, extra blankets. Make sure to leave out extra food for the animals.I think that's everything; let's go.
>>24799578Right, then we'll probably have to head out to the mountains.

>>24799656Make sure that we top off the water and extra feed for the animals. We'll feel mighty stupid if we let the ONLY FARM ANIMALS IN THE KNOWN AREA die off because we were hasty.

>>24799765I thought we had them all locked up in the barn, though?Or does the barn door not lock?
>>24799785>>24799772The barn does not lock. There's never been a need for a lock, the dog keeps them on the farm quite handily. The dog is next to useless at tracking in snow, are you sure you want to bring it? I don't mind, really.
>>24799765It probably won't be any help, leave it with the animals or nothing will take care of them.
>>24799807Damnit. Leave the dog here. Leave it and the cat extra food and water.
>>24799807>The barn does not lockYeah, that's actually something that was never mentioned, and kind of important since I think most people are used to barn doors that can be locked, even if it's just with a simple bar across the doors.
With vigor, you write a note for Daliah, detailing how to take care of animals in your absence. You grab your long knife, your wolf cloak, and some trail food. You rush to the barn and dump a bunch of fodder on the floor, and point to the dog on the way out. "Be good!" "Woof"In a flash, you're gone down the road towards the mountains. You run, mostly, trying to make up for lost time, but Melissa has most of a day on you, and the snow is only getting stronger. ~~~~~~~You're walking into another storm, but there's nothing unusual about this one. Just a winter blizzard, driving snows, howling winds, the usual stuff. It's so natural, it'd be picturesque if you were watching it from somewhere with a fireplace. But you're not. You're out looking for your damn stubborn fool wife, who's out playing the hero. Head down to avoid the whipping winds, you advance at the fastest pace you can, still trying to close the gap. You're not sure how much time has passed, due to the storm blotting out the landscape more than ten feet away.
>>24799844You're right, it's an oversight on my part, since everyone picked the "dog that watches the animals" dog, it'd be like buying scratch protection on your invincible iphone.
>>24799867It's not even that. I think most people have only seen barns that lock somehow from the outside; even on farms that dedicated herding dogs the barns can be barred from the outside. Also, does this mean that the dog is always with the animals? I thought that he slept with us inside the house at night.
>>24799845do we know how far we are from the nearest relic?
Determinedly, you muster on, cursing Melissa loudly. "Stupid girl! Who's she trying to impress!? She doesn't know the first thing about relics, or finding them! Neither do I, for that matter, but that doesn't mean she's more qualified to do it!"As you rant, the storm goes away for about ten seconds, and then comes back. You knew it was too good to be true. Damn storm.
>>24799901The dog sleeps with the animals. >>24799902In the mountains, roughly a day away.
>>24799906>the storm goes away for about ten seconds, and then comes backIs this a sudden break, like what it would be like if we were in the field of effect of Providence?Let's retrace our steps real quick, see if the break in the storm was due to Providence or not.
>>24799906It's not that she's incompetent in any way; it's that she ran off alone to do it, after both she and Daliah gave us no end of grief over doing the same, and for something significantly less dangerous.
>>24799939She's going full PC Adventurer. Never go full PC Adventurer.
>>24799932Ding, nice catch. You stop in your tracks, for a moment. Something seems off. As you stand there, suddenly the storm dies down to nothing again, and you feel rather warm. You turn around to see your wife, in a matching wolf pelt, and your backpack, standing in the middle of the road. "Fancy seeing you here husband, did you miss me that badly?"[ ] Say something[ ] Turn around and go home[ ] Might as well pick up a relic or two, we're practically already therePick up to two.
>>24799984"I love you"Grab her and hug her"I was so worried, we should head homel
>>24799984Scold her for running off alone, hug the fuck out of her, and return home. From now on, all future relic hunting will not be attempted without all three of us together.
>>24799984Smack her across the cheek, not hard, but not gentle either. Then give her a big hug and tell her we were worried about her, especially since she decided to wander off after a relic on her own after bitching to us about doing it and to never do that again. Then we go home.
>>24799984Say something, namely an apology for the rant we just had and that she probably just heard, and a legitimate complaint about the hypocrisy of her going off on her own and complaining when we do the same. We care about her, and we'd feel the same way if something happened to her that she'd feel if something happened to us.Then head home by the route Daliah is most likely to take if she sees the note and runs after us. And if we meet up with her on the way back, we can go ahead and look for some relics with the three of us together, which is how we're strongest.
>>24800029No smacking, we ain't that kind of dude.
>>24799984>[ ] Say something>[ ] Turn around and go home"Please don't get as stubborn as me. "I love you, Melissa, and I appreciate the intention behind going to get the Relic on your own, but please, I'm supposed to be the one who doesn't think ahead. "Any Relic hunting we do, can be done together, with all three of us."This isn't because I don't trust you, but because in this land of magic, it's better to expect the unexpected and be prepared. And we're best prepared when it's all three of us together."
>>24799984[X] Say something"Yes I did, and I'm supposed to be the idiot in our marriage."Give her a hug and a kiss."Please don't worry me like that again. We're supposed to be married, all three of us, if we go looking for Relics or going on adventures we don't go off alone like that. Do you have any idea how worried we would have been, knowing you were off in a blizzard, not knowing how you were, if you were ever coming back?"
You spend the next ten minutes solidly explaining why you're mad at Melissa. You give well reasoned arguments on why she shouldn't have done what she did. You list the number of ways she could have been injured, or worse. You stop, feeling like you've done a good job of getting the point across. "That's all well and good Husband. I know that you care for me. Now. Go home."You're shocked. She's never this straight forward, or contrary. "Melissa, I'm not going home without you. This is silly.""No, Keith, you are silly. I was alive long before I met you, I'm not going to just die on the road. It might not feel like it, but winter is at least half over. If I don't bring you home some relics, you're going to be all 'Ohh Melissa honey, we have to spend part of the harvest seasons fetching relics because of Daliah's dead mom, boo hoo'. I'm not having that. We're at the base of the mountain range now, I'm not leaving without some stupid bauble to please your other half. Now, support your wife in her quest for world peace, or go. home."She's super serious. You're not going to be able to bring her back outside of physical force.[ ] _______
>>24800151"All you had to do was ask"And many lessons were learnt that day...
>>24798468Melissa>The wife keith deserves.
>>24800151"Melissa, she isn't just my other half, or third in this case, you're her other third, and she's your other third. We were all married together, this isn't two separate marriages that I happen to be part of.So tell me sweetheart, are you doing this for me, Daliah, yourself, or for all three of us?"
>>24800151"I think I've brought enough rations for maybe 3 more days. All you had to do was ask and wait for me to get the mead started and get that kid to watch the animals again, you know."Do you have any idea how bored I'd get without you and Daliah at home? I'd probably do something foolish like teach the cat to speak or something equally absurd."
>>24800151>Now, support your wife in her quest for world peace, or go. homeJesus, boy. Who wears the pants in this relationship?
>>24800241Melissa, the other white meat.Melissa, it's what's for dinner.
>>24800252>>24800263Can we combine these together?
>>24800268are you suggesting we use the long knife we brought? or is this plan C?
>>24800151"I'm not saying we shouldn't be searching today, and if you're dead set against going back and making this an expedition of three, then I'm staying with you. I just want to know why you left without me. Or perhaps it wasn't me you wanted to leave without? You have nothing to prove here, to me, or to Daliah; do you have something to prove to yourself?"
>>24800316i'll just file that away as plan c anyway. JUST IN CASE.
>>24800316Let's go for a combo then.
"Alright honey, I bow before your conviction, I just want to know why you left like you did. Why didn't you ask me to come with you?"Melissa turns her head a bit. "It would be bad if it appeared I was running the marriage, and your life by proxy. You're already housing my animals, brewing my liquor, and generally doing whatever it is I want. I figured it would be best if I proved my own worth. Daliah is useful for her knowledge, you are useful for your tenacity, I am useful for my _____"She drifts off. "Anyhow, let us sleep here, together, and we will continue into the mountains in the morning. Don't worry about the storm, it won't touch us, even as we sleep."You hold your wife very tightly that night, thinking about what she said. The worst part is that you can even see how she arrived at her conclusions. Daliah IS useful, you're the guy who everyone turns to for whatever, but Melissa is sort of a quieter person, who effects the world less. Next to a veritable superpower like Daliah, you can see how she'd feel inferior, though it's still silly. ~~~~~~~You wake early, in a circle of dirt, surrounded by two feet of snow. It's such an odd looking thing, the physical manifestation of Providence. You break some food up with Melissa, and start your journey into the mountains proper. The book had mentioned a specific place, one that would seem fairly noticeable, apparently. d100 for perception, please.
Rolled 55>>24800471Phallic tower obvious?
Rolled 20>>24800471We do need to shore up Melissa's self-confidence.
>>24800471"You have nothing to prove, Melissa. You seem to think I'm only keeping you around for your looks; I love who you are, Melissa, and your looks are merely an amazing bonus on top of that. Of the three of us, Melissa, you are often the one with the clearest head, able to calm things down, reason your way through, and suggest the obvious flaw missed by those who let their emotions run their brains. You're the sane one, here." [Look around at our current situation.] "Relatively speaking, that is."
>>24800570Second, sounds pretty good.
>>24800570So Daliah's the Brawn, Keith's the Skills, and Melissa's the Brains of this family?
>>24800506Nicely done.As you pass through the pass, you wind upwards. The air becomes a bit thinner, and your ears pop once. However, one pile of rocks seems out of place, as though put there intentionally some time ago. You nudge Melissa and indicate the pile. She nods, agreeing with your judgement. The two of you begin shifting the rocks, eventually uncovering a doorway hewn out of the mountain, that leads down into the living rock itself. There's an inscription on the doorway, which you read, poorly. "Oh my wha moe shin dare you? What does that even mean?" Melissa has no idea either, but you came here for a reason. Melissa strikes up a torch she pulls from your bag, and the two of you enter the darkness of the mountain.
>>24800617Daliah is the brawn and the fiery passion, in all the good and bad senses of that. Keith is the sheer cussed tenacity, along with the outside perspective and thinking. And Melissa is the reasoner, the thinker, the calm voice and the common sense.
Do you guys want to run the dungeon for the next hour, or call it a night?
>>24800681Let's go for it, if you're up for it.Though I want to take a minute and stare at that inscription.
>>24800681Run the dungeon.>>24800641Also, "You are already dead" we're so fucked.
>>24800696How'd you get "You are already dead" from that?
>>24800681Do the dungeon.>Oh my wha moe shin dare youOmae wa moh shinderu."You are already dead". Well, that's not a good sign.
>>24800730Ohhhhhhh. "omae wa mou shindeiru". OK, this is going to suck. Warn Melissa, and think back to the descriptions of the relics from the book.
Rolled 27>>24800730>"You are already dead"We should have dragged her back and teamed up with Daliah.
>>24800749Was there a Kenshiro Relic? Are we trying to farm in the Fist of the North Star's Post Apoc future?
>>24800749As you wind back down, you can't help but think this would all be so much more efficient if there was simply a door at the base of the mountains, instead of 3/4 of the way up one. "Okay, let's see Melissa, we're here for two rings, Risk and Reward, and some gloves. The book didn't say much else, but we can probably assume that they'll be obviously placed. Someone made this tunnel, and so there'll be a chamber at the end, probably some pedestals, the works, you know?" Melissa nods. "I'm sure we'll know them when we see them."There's not much else to say, and the darkness is oppressive, so you simply walk in silence, holding your wife's hand. ~~~~~
>>24800872I wish we'd picked up a long branch now, to use as a 10-foot pole and to keep in front of us.
Rolled 34, 94 = 128Time passes, and the corridor ends. Not in a wall, but in a vast chamber. Melissa's torch doesn't light it all up. You can see about twenty feet in any direction. You don't hear anything, but you draw your knife just in case. The two of you walk forward, and shortly, the torch casts a flickering light on a throne of stone. It's massive, easily four times larger than a chair needs to be. On it, sits a skeleton, gray with age, and covered in dust. It's impaled through the ribcage with a spear, which cuts into the stone of the chair. You can see a small box in the lap of the skeleton, protected by it's hands. What do you do?
>>24800937Watch our step, we don't want to step on anything weird.Don't approach the throne guy yet, take a better look around the room, see if we can find the edges, look for inscriptions especially. Is the throne in the back or the center of the chamber?
Rolled 19>>24800937"I guess he got the point."
>>24800965This. We need to check carefully for traps, or for information on what we're facing here.
>>24800937Carefully examine the rest of the chamber first. Pay extra attention to the floors and the throne.
Rolled 24, 39 = 63>>24800965The floor is plain hewn stone. The room itself seems to have been created carelessly, out of necessity rather than pride, perhaps. Turning your head and thrusting the torch around, you see a few inscriptions on the wall to your left. It's a picture wall, but the quality is poor, again, as if someone wanted to be done, quickly. The story told is rather basic though, and you recite it to Melissa for plot purposes."Here lies Sh'aal, Lord of War. May he rot forever for his crimes against the world, and may his precious relics rot with him." You look back at the skeleton, then back at the wall. "Looks like someone looted most of the relics though." The wall has more to say. "Disturb not the rest of the dead, for we may forget him in time, but he will never forget himself.""That's all I'm getting out of the wall, honey." Melissa calls back to you from the throne. "Okay, so lets just grab the box and go, then.""Honey if you touch that box before I tell you to, so help me god."What's the next step?
>>24801046Carefully look at the spear, and the throne.
>>24801046>The wall has more to say. "Disturb not the rest of the dead, for we may forget him in time, but he will never forget himself."Sounds like skeleton king boss encounter to me, dismantle him first and then take the box.
>>24801046"Melissa, I have the feeling that if we touch that box wrong we're going to have a very bad day."Approach the throne, don't touch anything, take a closer look at the spear, the throne, and the box.
Rolled 44>>24801046Find a box-shaped rock and try to pull an Indiana Jones.Or run away and come back with the ass-kicking wife.
>>24801046>>24801090>skeleton boss fight>no bludgeoning weapons, only a knife"Melissa, I've seen this set up before. We touch the box or the spear, and that skeleton is going to get up and try to kill us."Let me check the throne first."Examine the spear, the throne, and the skeleton.
>>24801136We could probably find some bricks or other pieces of masonry.
>>24801145I'm pretty sure the cave has been carved into the mountain by one of the relics, bricks are unlikely.
Rolled 61, 78 = 139>>24801088Making your way back to the throne carefully, you inspect the scene in more detail. The spear seems to be of high quality, it has little tarnish on it for all the time it's been down here. It's a metal haft, which you imagine would make it rather heavy. The throne itself is hewn stone, as is the whole chamber. It's rather unremarkable. Again, you sense a desire on the behalf of a long dead mason to just halfass the job and be somewhere else. The skeleton is just a skeleton, as best you can tell. You've not seen a lot of skeletons, other than where you found Rezna, but it seems a standard kind of skeleton. The box is old wood, it's rotting through a bit, and you can see something inside, though what it is, you can't tell. What now?
>>24801225Suplex the skeleton.
>>24801225The box is rotting through? is there enough room to pull whatever is in the box out without moving the box?
>>24801225Could we open the box or widen the hole with our knife?Maybe we can take the contents without disturbing anything else.
Rolled 57, 42 = 99>>24801247Nope. The skeleton's hands are covering it quite well. >>24801246You guys wanna suplex the skeleton?
>>24801225First off the dice are scaring me.There has to be something we're missing. Would it be possible to carve the old rotting wood on the box with our knife without disturbing it?If so tell Melissa to get the heaviest object she can and be ready to smash the skeleton's head if we give her the word and get to widening that rotten wood.
>>24801259>You guys wanna suplex the skeleton?Fuck no.
>>24801259>You guys wanna suplex the skeleton?Let's do this.
>>24801273Shut up you stupid shit.
Rolled 38, 20 = 58>>24801270>>24801273best of five posts decides on skeleton suplex.
>>24801259No, no no no no. Do not suplex the skeleton until we have exhausted all other options.Won't work anyways, it's stuck in the wall.
>>24801273>>24801277Hell no.Is the weight of the box resting on the skeleton's hands, or something else?Where is weight resting in this system? Is there anything around about the same size and weight as the box?Is there anything around that appears to be the same
>>24801266We should also consider pulling out the spear at the first movement from the skeleton, as well. Seeing as the spear was what killed the guy, it might be needed to defeat the skeleton.
>>24801259No we want to smash it to pieces with the relic staff, a sitting skeleton doesn't work, it should be a pile of bones, which makes it very probable it's going to wake up.MELISSA SMASH!
>>24801282Suplex not required...
>>24801301Good things to check before we start fiddling with anything else.
Rolled 24>>24801282No, we are not suplexing the skeleton when there's a FUCKING SPEAR KEEPING IT IN PLACE!
Rolled 15>>24801246I foresee no repercussions in this action.Or we could get our little miss chocolate thunder to deal with it.
>>24801326>Or we could get our little miss chocolate thunder to deal with it.Daliah isn't here you stupid fuck.
I dunno, what kind of ancient necromancer plans on a suplex? A luchadore necromancer. But Mexico is nowhere near here. So, therefore, the way to foil this trap, is to tap in to the mysteries of muscles, and suplex this bony motherfucker. He doesn't even have a bicep, much less any core muscles that would be required to resist us.
Rolled 6, 51 = 57>>24801301Suppressing an urge to simply manhandle the skeleton, you inspect the box further. It rests on the skeleton's lap, with both hands folded over top of it. You could search the chamber for something of equal weight if you like. The idea of removing spear and immediately skullfucking the skeleton with it also comes to mind.
>>24801282Let's talk to the skeleton. It said he'd never forget who he is, so be polite but not brown nosing. "Greetings Lord Sh'aal, may your death be filled with glories beyond that of life. We seek your relics."
Rolled 27>>24801337I meant leave the tomb of Rape McRapenstein and go get her.
>>24801371Which will literally take days.
>>24801351We did a pretty good inspection of the room as we checks for inscriptions and all of that earlier. If we didn't see anything then we probably won't find anything. If we don't remember any loose stones or anything like that then try carving a hole in the side of the box.
>>24801351I say we use plan C on the skeleton, but give the bones to the dog.
Rolled 3>>24801393Very well, you decide to tamper with the box. Everyone give me 2d100 as I write this up.

Rolled 54, 95 = 149>>24801428This is not going to go well.
Rolled 61, 97 = 158>>24801428Here goes...
Rolled 33, 70 = 103>>24801428Well shit.
>>24801428Here's to hoping.
>>24801465Well. That was embarrasing
Rolled 17, 89 = 106>>24801428Okay, yeah, we're fucked.
Rolled 30>>24801428You take your knife, and try to dig at the box a bit. The wood looks terrible, so you figure you can cut through it no problem. The problem isn't the wood, which indeed crumbles under the point of your knife, the problem becomes the fact that the skeleton reaches up with one hand, and pulls the spear free of it's chest. The bigger problem is that with it's other hand, it bitch slaps you across the room. Standing back up, you rub your jaw in shock. The skeleton is also on it's feet, and it has it's spear crossed with Melissa's staff. The poor girl looks so determined, you think to yourself, before you shake the dust out of your head. She's in some pretty serious trouble, probably. On the other hand, the box is now broken open on the floor, and you might be able to reach the relics inside it.[ ] Go to Melissa's aid in combat, d100[ ] Grab the relics instead, I roll d100

>>24801564You rush over to Melissa, knife still in hand, and plant the dagger in the skeletons' skull. It worked on gregor almost a year ago, but this enemy is made of sterner stuff. It does, however, distract him long enough for Melissa to take a two handed "over the fences" swing at him. He raises an arm in defence, but it shatters under her blow. Rolled 30>>24801716Wait, suplex is dumb, but punching something with our bare hands isn't?
>>24801716Only if we get to use that 92.

>>24801798>There are bloodier places to sliceYeah, but all of those other places could kill us. And we need time and experience to become accustomed to a Relic. A +1d20 doesn't seem worth it. Just keep the 92 and have Melissa smash skeleton's skull or Relic arm.
Melissa continues to swing at the bastard skeleton, breaking a rib here, a rib there. She cracks it's skull, and then it seems to really get pissed. First d100 is Melissa's saving throw.
>>24801813I think we should stick with the palm.
Rolled 67>>24801840>saving throwAw fuck.
Rolled 81>>24801840Don't suck.
Rolled 79>>24801840You reaaaaallly want us to use the medallion, huh.
>>24801862I'm ambivalent to the idea. I just want to make combat difficult. /tg/ dice are my ally here, it seems.
Should have gone after the other Relics. They could have given us a boost for this fight.
>>24801854seems like we'll have to be edgy so we might as well go all the way, WRIST SLITTING HOOO~
>>24801878The relics were supposed to be the rings right?Doesn't seem like they'd be much help right now.
>>24801900Risk could have, risk is reality breaking.
>>24801900Risk has the potential to supercharge anything we do. It either doesn't do anything, or gives us an auto-crit.Reward doubles whatever we do, doubling any effort we undertake. So yes, they could massively help our fight.
Melissa makes a final swing, as does the skeleton. Going full armed, double handed, Melissa completely shatters the Skeletons' skull, and he goes limp and separates into his component bones, like a good skeleton, right after shoving his spear into Melissa's heart. The weight of it drags her to the ground, but she's dead as she hits it. You watch helplessly as the light goes out of her eyes, dying cold in this hole in the mountain. You drop to your knees over her. "No! It wasn't supposed to be this way dammit! Why? Why'd you have to be so brave?"You cast your eyes around for anything that could help. The medallion can only heal near death, so it's out. The box of relics catches your eye though. You scramble over to it, and open it. Two rings, one white and the other an odd colour that seems to shift as you look at it, fall out of the box. They roll along the floor, coming to a stop near Melissa. A pair of leather gloves flop out of the box, too. [ ] What do you do?
>>24801961First, try the medallion; use it to bring her back, as Rezna did.If that fails, use the gloves to turn back the clock.
>>24801961Seize risk and reward, use both at the same time as we use the medallion to heal Melissa.
>>24801961Put on both rings, and use the gloves, try to turn back time.
>>24801961use the odd color ring, which I assume is Risk, and use it to supercharge the medallion, hopefully to bring back the recently dead.
>>24801961>Why'd you have to be so braveI'm thinking she was a whole lot of something else myself.
>>24801961The gloves are Sisyphus, a pair of leather gloves. They seem to fit any wearer. The singular name and the plural nature of gloves has not been explained. The wearer of the gloves may redo one activity a day as though it had not been already done. Example Given, if one wearing the gloves made a social faux pas, they could utilize the gloves, and everyone present would forget the conversation had happened. It seems the gloves only allow for around two hours' time dilation. Experimenting is dangerous, obviously. Put them on, reverse the act of her getting stabbed, hopefully without reversing the act of the skelly dying.
>>24801975>>24801983>>24801989The medallion can reverse near death, not death death.
>>24801986>>24801975Donning the rings, and then the gloves, you concentrate as hard as you can. This isn't going to be how it ends. Not by a long shot. Your hands warm, and you watch dumbstruck as time flows backwards. You see Melissa getting unpierced, and you go back a bit further than that. Removing the gloves, you clutch the medallion tightly in your hand. The skeleton seems surprised that you're standing in front of it, and not across the room where he would swear he just hit you. Melissa gasps a bit as well. One more d100 for bloody falcon punch, lads.
Rolled 12>>24801999So we use the gloves to go back to before she was stabbed, use the medallion, and punch the fuck out of Mr.Bones.
Rolled 11>>24802035Goddamn this had better work.
Rolled 79>>24802035You REALLY want this falcon punch don't you?
Rolled 81>>24802035FALCON PAWNCH!!!
Rolled 68>>24802055I REALLY hope it isn't the first roll this time.
Rolled 41This fist is the fist that shall pierce the skelly!
>>24802066No, no it doesn't.
>>24802039we are so fucked. I say we go with plan B.which is whimper.
>>24802035>>24802066One of the relics better be a drill. A heaven piercing drill.
Rolled 87 + 81>>24802056Rolling for Risks' effectiveness.
>>24802076well, obviously, it a FALCON DRILL PUNCH
>>24802083what about rewards?
>>24802083So, 249 judging from what you meant to put in.
>>24802083Note that only one of those +81s counted.
>>24802083Outside, it's still snowing. Hardy birds that didn't fly south are sitting in leafless trees, huddling against the cold. Suddenly, as one, they all take off in flight, heading uniformly away from the mountains. Squirrels and other small woodland creatures also make good their escape in the peaceful snow. The trees themselves seem to lean away from the mountains, as though in fear.Back in New Bounty, your cat sits up straight, then heads for the root cellar, squeezing in through the ventilation shaft.
>>24802083>>24802104>>24802137Guys I think we just became One Punch Man.
>>24802101Reward doubles your roll. Risk has a 15% chance to crit each roll. You technically had two rolls thanks to reward. You rolled two nat 100's, in effect. That's without adding blood magic.
>>24802089Mfw that's my roll.
>>24802137uh-oh, this ain't good. we shifted focus
>>24802153>Reward doubles your roll. >Risk has a 15% chance to crit each roll.Should have just gone for the rings in the first place instead of using that 92 on Melissa that only got her killed.
>>24802170Yes, we obviously should have. I kinda expected a 92 to not get her killed though.
>>24802176We just had to see a falcon punch though. We're never going to farm again.
>>24802197not with our drill punching arm, that's for sure.
>>24802137>your cat sits up straight, then heads for the root cellar, squeezing in through the ventilation shaft.Cat: OHFUCKOHFUCKOHFUCKOHFUCKDog: Hey Cat, what's wrong?Cat: SHUTUPANDGETINTHECELLAROHFUCKWEAREGOINGTODIE!Also, with a double crit like that, did the Medallion just drain all of the blood out of us to power this punch?
>>24802226And then Melissa takes the gloves to fucking wind back time so we'll survive, she'll die, so we'll take the gloves to save her, and on and on and on and on.
>>24802137For a moment, the wilderness is quiet. Then, suddenly, the southern face of the middle mountain explodes outwards violently. There is no adequate way to describe the noise, as there is no adequate way to describe how much everything weighs. Shards of mountain the size of towns are ejected for miles, and more. The dust cloud rumbles forward and blankets the forest, knocking over trees, and felling the slower birds in it's wake. The earth trembles under the assault of debris, and the shockwave finally forms and hits the trees not felled by the dust, tearing them out of the ground for no less than six miles. ~~~~~~~Hours later, as chips of diamond continue to rain down, Melissa supports you on her shoulder as you walk home. "Keith?"It's the first sound you've heard in hours made by a living creature."Yes?" You manage weakly. "Do that again some time for me, okay? It kind of...turns me on."[ ] Say your piece[ ] Shake your head[ ] Other
>>24802245"I hope never to have to. Now you know what lengths I'll go to to save you. You died, Melissa."
>>24802245>[x] Shake your headWho needs Reap or whatever the natural distaster geography changing scythe was called? We have drill punches.
>>24802245"Must. Remember. Not. To. Use. Relics. In. Tandem... Will. Die. Again. Otherwise..."
>>24802245>[ ] Other"So long as you don't worry me like what happened back there. You were...really hurt. I'm just glad that Sisphyus was one of the Relics."Besides, I don't know if there's enough MOUNTAIN left for a punch like that again."
>>24802245Did this make us lose all our hair?
>>24802245[x] Otheronly if i have to again to save someone
>>24802245"Watching you get stabbed in the heart and reversing time to punch out a mountain is something I do not wish to repeat anytime soon."
>>24802266>"You died, Melissa"She nods, "I did. But you learned something valuable from it, I think. If you're going to do something, do it all the way. Don't hesitate, don't waffle, don't second guess. Once you've decided, just go for it. You're your own worst enemy sometimes, Husband, and with a hand like that I feel bad for you. On that note, please remember to remove those relics before we're intimate again. I believe I have somewhat less fortitude than a mountain range."
>>24802245>chips of diamondHow hard did we hit that skeleton that not only did we compress it to that point, but that we actually transformed calcium into carbon?
>>24802245[X] Say your piece"Sweetheart, if you want me to act all manly and forceful just ask, you don't need to go off climbing mountains to fight skeletons for that. But I can't promise I'll punch a mountain like that again any time soon, you can always think back to it if you need to. And I never want anything like that to happen again, you know how scared I was about you, I saw you get stabbed in front of me and somehow managed to save you.On a related note you, and me for that matter, owe Daliah an apology for running off like that, she's probably worried sick about us both. You're married to her as well, and it's poor form to run off from your spouse like that. You made her miss all the adventure, that wasn't very kind of you. And I forgot to mention this, you're beautiful, strong, intelligent, and usually the smart level-headed member of our marriage. You don't have any need to be jealous, we need you as much as you need us."
>>24802319>how hard did we hit that skeletonI was almost certain I was pretty fucking clear about that.
>>24802318What a bitch.
>>24802334Clear as the diamonds I assume we're filling at least one bag with.
So is there enough diamond there to take and make some fancy jewels or something?
>>24802334WITH OUR POWERFUL FALCON DRILL PUNCH, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
>>24802318>she remembers she died. Melissa confirmed for having the Reading Steiner ability.
>>24802342Eh, they're poorly formed. What you'd call industrial grade. If you plan on having CNC machines soon, they'll be useful.
On a random note I think we should give Risk to Daliah and Reward to Melissa, it fits their personalities and handily deals with any thoughts of favoritism. Besides, we want the two of them to grow closer. We can keep Sisyphus for ourself.
>>24802356and now.... we make a drill
>>24802356Or any number of other uses, quite apart from giving a few to the smith just on general principle.Among other things, the glazier will have some use for them, too.>>24802370I was actually thinking about giving Sisyphus to Melissa, Reward to Daliah, and keeping Risk for ourself.
>>24802370With all the feet we stuff in our mouth it should come in handy, though Melissa seems to be partly unaffected by it.
>>24802318>I did"You...shouldn't be able to remember that. Now I wish I'd paid attention to those time-travel shows and books more.">>24802370I disagree.Using both Risk and Reward together increases the chances of Risk criting, since they stack with each other.Sure they might be fine for one to use one or the other on the farm, but during combat, the two rings and the gloves should stay on one person.
>>24802318"No lesson on this earth is worth you dying, Melissa.">>24802399I agree that this is just for everyday use. But in any case, Risk and Reward probably should go together. Perhaps we give Daliah Sisyphus, and keep Risk and Reward for ourself?
>>24802417Since Melissa has Providence already. But on the other hand, Daliah has Sow, as well. So perhaps Melissa should carry Sisyphus.
we could always stick to the plan of putting them into a Vault until such time as we can destroy them...
>>24802385The problem with that is a logistical one, giving time manipulation to an NPC is just asking for the story getting bend backwards on itself.>>24802399Sure for a fight we can stick the rings on Daliah, make sure she has Sow, and point her in a direction and just watch everything fall apart.Risk/Reward are meant to be pair-bonded as evidenced by them being able to sense how the wielder of the other one is doing.
Thread end, discuss how you'd like to split up the relics among the three of you. I'll try and answer some more meta questions about them to help your decision.>RiskHave to roll natural 85 or higher to have any effect. Above that threshold, whatever roll it was to augment is a natural 100. Can augment multiple rolls, but they have to be taken at the same time.>RewardBasically doubles a dice roll. Can only be used three times a day, intentionally. Has a latent effect that generally improves the wearers' life.>Sisyphus Contrary to what the relic book said, these gloves are huge unknowns. Some things get erased from happening when you use them, others no longer have an effect, but still happened. EG: A tree falls, you rewind time, the tree is standing again, but the noise still happens. The nature of it all is highly...unstable.
>>24802434Absolute power corrupts absolutely. There is no way the playerbase will give up on relics that let us turn mountains into diamond showers.
>>24802442Yeah, there's huge value in keeping Risk and Reward together.>>24802434>we could always stick to the plan of putting them into a Vault until such time as we can destroy them...As suggested in a previous thread, I think using them to help others, rather than ourselves, makes them far less likely to corrupt.
>>24802442No drawback on the Risk? Not much of a risk then.>The nature of it all is highly...unstable.so you are saying Melissa doesn't have Reading Steiner?
>>24802442I say Reward on Melissa, the synergy it has with Providence is absurd. Risk on Daliah, partially because if we take it it'll seem like we're favoring Melissa by binding ourself to her as she has the other one, partially because it fits her role well, and because it amuses me.Sisyphus goes to us, because I don't want to imagine the horror and confusion that will precipitate from someone we as a playerbase don't control completely fucking around with time. And it's unstable. Or just stick it in a vault, that's cool with me.
>>24802473we may never know...
>>24802481>I say Reward on Melissa, the synergy it has with Providence is absurd.>Risk on Daliah, partially because if we take it it'll seem like we're favoring Melissa by binding ourself to her as she has the other one, partially because it fits her role well, and because it amuses me.Both of these, and on top of that it'll bring them closer together.> Sisyphus goes to us, because I don't want to imagine the horror and confusion that will precipitate from someone we as a playerbase don't control completely fucking around with time.I don't see it as that challenging of a logistical problem, but I do agree that if we split up the rings in the obvious way then we should take the gauntlets.
>>24802489I kinda like the idea of Melissa living through all our failed rolls, and it makes me incredibly sad.We should obviously cuddle Melissa more.
>>24802489there is only one way to find out.we must use these gloves on Melissa. thoroughly.for science
>>24802473>no drawback on risk?Yeah, I know. It's supposed to be kind of a last ditch "this is the only option left" kind of thing. It's especially unreliable given the nature of /tg/ dice, though, so in itself that's a drawback.
>>24802442Reward to Melissa should probably get reward. Daliah should get risk and we should keep the gloves. Although during combat I would suggest we combine them all on one person if we have the chance to.
>>24802442Do we have an idea of how many relics there are? Do we know of any Relics outside of the ones we currently have and Reap?On a scale from 1-10 how peeved is Daliah with us and Melissa? On a scale from 1-10 how aroused is Melissa from us punching a mountain? Should we spend more time being a bit forceful with her? What is the cat's secret? Will we get a chance to sit both of our wives down and give them a talking to about how they're married to each other, shouldn't be jealous of each other, are both spectacular and shouldn't bicker as much? And then tell them to kiss and make up while holding hands? We should also cuddle with both of our wives more, just because.
>>24802329We definitely need to say something like this to Melissa before we get back. She's *still* having self-worth and jealousy problems.
I vote for Melissa getting Reward, Daliah getting Risk, and the gloves for usin case of future spaghetti.
>>24802535>how many relics are there15.>do we know where they are?We need to read Daliah's book more.>how pissed is Daliah?1/10, we left a note, and she's a pragmatic person about that sort of thing. Plus she's been busy with Rezna.>how turned on is Melissa?11/10. >should we be more forceful? Not necessarily. It's more of a "I'm banging the dude who makes mountains go away" thing than it is a "he's so strong, I bet he could hurt me" thing.>what is the cat's secret? The cat knows when shit is about to go down. She's the result of a lucky nat100 roll in an early thread.>will we talk to our wivesIf you ask me to in the next thread

>>24802566well, to be fair, it was only half a mountain.

>>24802659Well at least my critical failure didn't lead to Keith going into celibacy, I hope.
>>24802659Right people, next thread, relationship talk. First I suggest something like >>24802329 with Melissa on the way back, something to reassure her about her worthiness and jealousy. We might need a similar talk with Daliah. Then we sit them down together and try to get them to understand that they're not just married to us, they're married to each other as well. Possibly get them to strip in front of each other and we can tell each of them the myriad ways in which they're beautiful and we love them, preferably actually have them tell each other that. If they both realize that the other thinks they're beautiful as all hell it might deal with some of the jealousy and envy going around between them. And then threesome. Or lesbians, either way.
Rolled 86>>24802697Or we could not try to shoe-horn lesbians into this.Roll for not shoe-horning lesbians.Oh god I'm going to fuck this up.
>>24802726Lesbians is just a possible bonus for getting them to get along better. Like the frosting on a cake of a happy marriage. They are married to each other, it's not really out the question for them to fuck each other, and threesomes ought to happen, they can share us.Women also tend to be much less polar with their sexuality and have a greater degree of sexual and erotic plasticity. So while I admit the core of my reasoning is because I'm a shameless pervert, it's not overly unrealistic or out of the question.
>>24802817Goddess has been pretty clear about not wanting to take this in a lesbians direction and the waifus not being jealous doesn't have to lead to lesbians, neither does threesomes. It's not that I dislike lesbians, I'm actually a pretty big fan, but it doesn't mean we should force goddess to cater to our tastes against the characters' personalities.
>>24802895As I said, possible frosting on the cake of a happy marriage. Nice if it happens, if it doesn't happen I won't complain, there's still delicious happy marriage cake.
