LAST TIME ON GUNDAM AGE QUEST: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/24884201/

Your name is Jake Crocker and its five days away from your planned assault on the Vagan Space Fortress Ambat. Everything is going to plan, the pirates are on your side, you’ve finished many deadly new weapons and your troops and ships are almost finished getting upgraded.

Getting sick of messing with guns and mobile suits for a change, you decided to go and visit Mellis to check up on her. You have just finished taking her on a spin in your Gundam after looking at the stars and chatting for quite a while. Now it’s time to get some grub, but what would be a good place to eat?

What do you want to do Jake?
>>
Wherever she'd like to go. Maybe that cafe again where we went the first time.
Or, if she wants to go to the lake, we grit our teeth and say fine. It is time we confront our hydrophobia.
>>
>>24901025
See what Melis wants. She's been stuck with hospital food for a week, again. Let her decide.
>>
Have Ma G find the place with the greasiest food and head there.
Nothing is as fun as eating greasy food with a friend.
>>
>>24901197
>>24901085
"Mellis, you've been the one eating hospital food all week, how about you pick where we eat?"

"Hmmm, I'm in the mood for something horrible and artery clogging. Let's go to that fast food place, Burger Planet."

You re-enter the colony the Research Facility is based out of and walk through the the streets, clogging up traffic as you go make your way to the drive through window of Burger Planet.

"Welcome to Burger Planet, May I take your order?" One of the underpaid staff members asks through the drive-through speaker.

"I'll have 3 Cosmic Burgers, a 2 things of fries, a box of chicken nuggets and an iced coffee" Mellis says gleefully.

"Anything else?"

Well Jake?
>>
>>24901712
"Gimme the same. Just place the order in the hand of the mobile suit."
>>
>>24901712
Do they make drive-thru lines for MS? HAHAHA.
>>24901750
Seconding this. I wish I could see the look on the staff's faces.
>>
>>24901750
>>24901808
>"Gimme the same. Just place the order in the hand of the mobile suit."

"Huh? Sure whatever..." The voice through the drive through speaker says with doubt in their voice.

You walk up to the drive through and kneel your Gundam down. Hoping into the hand you have Mellis lower it to the drive through window.

"That'll be 43.96 Credits would you like nap-" The drive through attendant stops midsentance and stares at the crusader-black mobile suit standing outside of the drive through, you standing in it's now lowered hand.

"Yes, I'd like Napkins. Could I have some salt and ketchup?"

"Ugh, Hmmmm, OK?" The attendant leaves and gets you what you want. He's almost surprised when you pay, as if he expected you to rob the drive thru with your mobile suit.

Once you leave the attendant tells his manager. "Well it is a Drive-thru, we didn't really specify with what..." He scratches he chin, wondering if he could pitch this as a new gimmick.

Climbing back into your mobile suit, you enter back into traffic, horns blaring as you do so.

"Where would be a nice place to eat? Maybe a park or something?" Mellis suggests.

Well Jake?
>>
>>24901952
"Tonight, whatever you say, goes. I'm just your chauffeur, milady."

Why can't I stop imagining a giant drive-thru in space with space truckers and mobile suits? That'd be totally awesome.
>>
>>24902006
Convert Ambat into a space truck stop?
>>
>>24902050
Ambat should be converted into a giant Space Las Vegas.
This should be more something smaller, perhaps a retired battleship or something made from scrap by the pirates.
>>
Don't suppose there's a drive-in theater.
>>
>>24902249
YES. We need to do this with the Crusader.
>>
>>24901952
Find a place with a good view and eat on top of Ma G.
>>
>>24901952
Drive-in theater if possible. Park if not.

"How about a drive-in theater?" You suggest.

"Ooh! Good idea, too bad it's not dark out..." Mellis sights, but shrugs. "We can do that after Ambat. To the park it is!" Mellis declares and you take her there in your Gundam. You find a rather nice one with plenty of trees, grass and even a little play/picnic ground.

You march your Gundam to the edge of the Park and kneel down, helping Mellis out along with the food. Once everyone and everything is out of the Gundam, Mellis picks out a nice picnic bench to set up on, right in the view of the park.

Quickly the two of you begin to take out and dig into your foods.

What would you like to talk about with Mellis?

Ask her how she feels about Desil.
>>
>>24902621
Ask her how's she's feeling, how her folks are and so on. I guess they're too busy to come over and visit her / kick our ass for not taking proper care of her.
After that, tell her about Desil and all this shit going on. We haven't told her anything about Vagan and the plan of the attack on Ambat.
>>
>>24902621
Get her up to speed on all the stuff that's happened since the last time we met up with her. Like the kidnapping and the pirate base and the Black Raven.
The last one sounds almost like a name straight out of one of our "LARPs", come to think of it.
>>
>>24902621

Asking for her help to learn how-to swim after Ambat. (Mellis and Disil can bond over our terror.)

If she asks why now, then we tell her about Disil.

>Ask her how's she's feeling, how her folks are and so on.

"My Aunt and Uncle are losing their their minds over what's happened and me 'running away'. They don't believe a word I've told them, but their glad to hear I'm safe and you've been nowhere near me" Mellis says, biting into her hamburger.

"Really? Why do they have such an issue with me anyway?" You ask.

"Remember that time you and I were playing Seige Fortress between our yards?" Mellis asks.

"Oh yeah! I remember building that really good catapult that actually launched and entire motor into...oh"

"Yep. Apparently having engine blocks launched into their bedroom at 6:00 AM has apparently left a bad impression on them" Mellis grins. "I thought it was pretty fucking funny"

>Get her up to speed on all the stuff that's happened since the last time we met up with her.

"...and that's how to I beat the Black Raven" You finish, holding your french fries up in an ever so dramatic fashion.

"Black Raven? Someone needs to find a new penchant if your fighting someone named that." Mellis warns.

"What? No way! I picked Black Devil first!"

"Well if this person has been around since the Colony Nation Wars, he or she picked it waaaaaaaay before you."

"Screw them! Where does it say a rival can't have the same colony scheme or name?"

"Probably somewhere on NetTropes."

"Everything is on NetTropes Mellis, that doesn't count. Besides, Black Devil sounds a lot cooler. I'm keeping it." You cross your arms and produce a mock pout, making Mellis laugh out loud.

"I was just messing with you, I'd never ask you to change your Nickname"

>>24902975

>Asking for her help to learn how-to swim after Ambat. (Mellis and Disil can bond over our terror.) If she asks why now, then we tell her about Disil.

>>
>>24903204
"You want me to help you learn how to swim once you come back? Why are you asking now? Didn't you make a blood oath to never swim?" Mellis raises an eyebrow, wondering if your not some kind of alien impostor wearing Jake flesh.

"Well I made a promise to someone. You know that kid, Desil? Well he's not all that bad. He didn't really mean any of the crap he did, he didn't know any better. He was a child soldier Mellis and I managed to find a home for him and I think I'm on my way to giving him a childhood so...do you think you could forgive him?"

Mellis frowns, letting out a sigh and thinking for a few moments. "He shaved my head and put me into the situation I'm in now. If he was any older I would probably say no...but he's only seven. If you can put a car engine block through the side of my house at seven years old, I'm sure Desil can turn his life around. Besides, I think we'll both laugh our asses off when you break out the water wings"

"There called miniature life preserves damn it!" You say in sheer denial, quite happy and terrified at her awnser.

You and Mellis are just about finished with your food, Mellis taking some of your due to her sheer hunger.

What do you want to do now? Anything else you'd like to talk about?
>>
>>24903290
What time is it right now?
>>
>>24903290
Ask how she feels about the Vagans, and what she thinks should be done with them. After that it's time to take her back.
>>
>>24903290
"So... You have any ideas on what I could make for the following battle? You were the mad genius girl whenever we played as kids."
"And you have any plans what we could do after this is all over? I guess I'm going to join the military while you're going back to school to swoon over that jerkass you like."

I kinda want to upgrade that Chimera cowl we made with additional beam sabers / DODS vulcans in the legs, so we can go capoeira with guns and lightsabers on some Vagan ass.
>>
>>24903326
Seconding this. We can plot to conquer the solar system after Ambat.
>>
>>24903318
It's about 4:00 PM, still relatively early.
>>24903326
"How do you feel about the Vagans? You know the Martian Colonists who kidnapped you and want to kill...well, everyone apparently"

"I think they're a bunch of lunatics who are probably not going to stop what they're doing until something big happens."

"Big?" You ask.

"Big as in they kill everyone, The Federation Kills them, everyone kills each other or you get off your ass and do something about it." Mellis states.

"Hey I'm working on it. Trying to take over the entire galaxy takes time, it's not as easy as it was when we were kids."

"Wait, you aren't using what we did as kids as a basis for your plans, right?"

You look side to side. "...No?"

After a little more discussion you take Mellis back to the lab where you run into Dr. Spriggan.

"Hello Jake, could I talk to you for a few moments?"

Well Jake? What do you want to do?
>>
>>24904012
"Sure thing doc. It's about that hair thing we talked about, right? She's going to bald forever?"
>>
>>24904012
"Sure thing Doc, what do you need?"

Make sure we pick Mellis up in a hug and give her a kiss before we leave.
>>
>>24903355
I'd love to have a design based off the Aegis but with the dual-purpose beam emitters. But now's not the time to talk about that. We're having a nice meal with our lady friend.

We should ask her about her plans for once this is over, though. This is a big life-changing event for all of us. It's hard to just go back to school after you've been kidnapped and experimented on.
>>
>>24904113
Don't get fresh now. I mean, we wouldn't want all the progress we made go down the drain because we took things too far.
A simple hug is fine for now. We save the kiss for when the time is right and the two of us are alone.
>>
>>24904044
Seconding this. Some humor will be good for her, and it will make the inevitable despair more easy to take.
>>
>>24904044
>"Sure thing doc. It's about that hair thing we talked about, right? She's going to bald forever?"

"Like you should talk Mr. Butthair!"

"Hey! It's not butt hair, it's just very low backhair. I've told you this a thousand times"

"Ummm, No...I'd actually like to talk to you in my Office."

You give Mellis a hug and wave her goodbye as she returns to her room.

>>24904135
You make a mental note to talk about future plans later and proceed into Dr. Spriggan's office.

"I've got good news and bad news. Which do you want first?"
>>
>>24904308
Bad news first.
>>
>>24904308
Bad news. Let's get it out of the way now.
>>
>>24904308
Always the bad news first.
>>
>>24904308
bad news first.

Hmm, let's completely fuck over canon. I can see it now: 20 years after the Battle of Ambat. The colonies are growing discontent with the bungling of the Federation and the attacks from the Vagan. Led by Jake Crocker, his wife Melis, and former rival and current mistress/co-wife Rysis, the colonies of Side 3 and Side 5 have seceded from the Federation. Using technology salvaged from the Vagan and pre-war Federation, they have gained dominance over local space. They seized control of several abandoned pre-war forts and renamed them: Solomon, Pezun, Axis, and A Baoa Qu. Their new government: the Repubic of Zeon. The year is A.G. 140.
>>
>>24904368
I'd rather not be sandwiched between the other two factions. My ideal location for any third side we form would be either the Trojan asteroids or Jupiter itself. We'll go full Jovian Chronicles on this setting.
>>
>>24904368

I'd rather work our way up the EFF then start a coup d'état, and expose there crimes.

And no, Mellis!Jake OTP.
>>
>>24904405
I'd rather just nuke Second Moon during Gen 2 and be done with it.

Too bad we don't get Genocide-Flit the way things are going now.
>>
>>24904308
bad news first
>>
>>24904452
No Melis/Jake/Rysis OT3? Gotta toss the OT3 idea over to Flit, Yurin, and Emily, if only for the reactions.
>>
>>24904320
>>24904332
>>24904364
"Bad news first doc"

"Mellis is gonna be dead by the next in a week or so. We've done our best with the implants and if shit hit's the fan I'm probably going to have to try and modify them not knowing what the fuck I'm doing. Unless you can get me the data on her implants"

"Shit doc that's the bad news? What's the good news then?"

"Oh I sent your buddy Flit the data we got from Mellis, he says it's helped him make a jump in developing Bit weapons or something. I know it's not much considering everything, but at least it's not all bad..."

Your reaction Jake?
>>
>>24904368
I don't know, I'm for using the dataminer we made on the Feds first. We get to both test it and have enough blackmail for them to do whatever we want.

We get Grodek out of the prison, he joins Blackmarsh and they form the new pirate faction. The Armstrong gets permission to do whatever it wants as it serves as a "independent research ship", and we go full pre-war tech. Turn the Armstrong into the fucking Harbinger. We save the noncombatants of Ambat and they begin to doubt their leaders, and talks about peace with the Earthlings begin to pop out. Some Vagans separate themselves led by reformed Desil. Flit becomes the savior he wanted to be, and tries to reform the Federation. Rebellions everywhere.

Then an army of sentient pre-war machines pops out and starts shooting everyone.
>>
>>24904503
"Shit. Do your best, Doc. We're going after Ambat in a few days. That's where the Vagan did this to Melis. That's where I'll find that data. Just keep her alive."
>>
>>24904503
Slam the table. "The hell it is! How can you even say that? I will get you that data. I swear to Gundam."
>>
>>24904503
"Not really worth it to me. Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck. FUCK!

We're going to Ambat soon, we can get the data from there, just keep her alive until then, whatever it takes. Would putting her in stasis or freezing buy us some time?"
>>
>>24904503
there's a Vagan outpost before Ambat maybe we can get some info there before the main battle.
>>
>>24904503
"Fuck. Thanks for everything. Just keep her safe, and I'll be back soon with the data you need."

I guess we devote our time here to working like madmen and training our ass off with Dad and Woolf.
Maybe we pull off that "don't think, feel" thingy that made Asemu so fucking awesome in a couple of days.
>>
>>24904503
"You've given her more time than she'd have otherwise. But it still might not be enough. The attack is in five days, and I'm not sure we can speed up the schedule any. We've got three outposts to eliminate, then hit Ambat itself. It'll be cutting it pretty close. I'm not sure we could raid the fortress and get back to you with the files in time.

"Is there any way you and Mellis could come with us? Just pack up everything you'd need to do the surgery onto the Armstrong so that you'll be ready to operate immediately? I know that's asking a lot. But having you there when we're searching the facilities would at the very least help us figure out what we were looking at. Please, Dr. Spriggan. I can't lose her. Not like this."
>>
>>24904503
Panicking won't help her. Just increase the pace of preparation of the assault, and make sure the weapons are much stronger by the time of the fight.
>>
>>24904503
Take a deep breath and keep ourselves composed as best we can. Then say "Doctor Spriggan, Mellis is my best friend. We grew up together, and I don't think I can live with myself if I let anything happened to her. I'll get you that surgery data. I'll get it even if I have to make a clean sweep of every CPU the Vagan own. I'll stop at nothing to save her. Period. Thank you so much for all you've done so far, but you have to -promise- me, that you'll do absolutely everything in your power to fix what they did. I'll do my part, but then I'm depending on you."

"Is cold sleep an option to stall for time?"
>>
>>24904654
seconding especially the cold sleep bit
>>
>>24904575
> "Shit. Do your best, Doc. We're going after Ambat in a few days. That's where the Vagan did this to Melis. That's where I'll find that data. Just keep her alive."

>>24904654

>"Is cold sleep an option to stall for time?"

"I'm sorry but not in this case. The brain is still active during cold sleep, not a whole lot, but enough that she'll still die from the implants during it. Don't worry about her dying before you get back though, I might be able to extend her life by a day or two with some ideas of mine, but don't be too late"

"Fuck, well try to keep her kicking until I get back with the data"

"That's what I aim to do. I apologize if I'm so calm about all this I'm kind of high off my ass right now" Dr. Spriggan explains apologetically.

"Excuse me?"

"Well I lost my breath strips in one of the labs and took what I thought were them when in fact I just took LSD. They should be kicking in right about now, so I apologize if I start to go loopy"

"Oh shit, are you gonna be OK?"

"Oh I'm fine, this happens more then you think, we used to do this all the time around Christmas. Could you close the elephant on your way out?"

You leave Dr. Spriggan's with the information that Mellis is going to die unless you get that data and the fact you should never use breath strips you find lying around EVER.

It's 5:00 PM now, what do you want to do Jake?
>>
>>24904811
Rage that the only person who can save out not-girlfriend took LSD at a time like this.
>>
>>24904811
This fills me with confidence about the upcoming surgery.

Let's give Mellis a proper goodbye before we leave. Let her know we'll be back after we take out the Vagan and save the universe.
>>
>>24904811
Back to work, I guess. Ask dad and Woolf for some training.
Maybe insert those beam sabers / vulcans into the legs of the Chimera.

>>24904855
We're going to spend that Victory party with her, don't worry.
>>
>>24904811
Find Flit and get the bit data from him. Proceed down the bits tech tree until we achieve bits with generators.
>>
>>24904811
give him a "are you kidding me?" look and let's go see Mellis for a proper goodbye, then go see if we can help others with preparations
>>
>>24904811
Plan for integration training. We've got a lot of people not used to working together. Let's try to iron out some of the worst wrinkles.
>>
>>24904852
>>24904855
The fact Dr. Spriggan mixed up LSD and breath strips disturbs you, but he seems like an OK guy even if he's a little weird, as in weird for you.

>>24905001
Integration training sounds like a good idea, especially with everyone and everything you have planned but where are you going to get that kind of training? Grodek hates the Vagan with a firey passion and couldn't give a damn less about integration.

Any ideas?
>>
>>24905126
Team battles with the teams being switched up every other battle. This allows them to learn how to work together with other groups.
>>
>>24905126

A few combat sparring sessions ought to do the trick.
>>
>>24905193
>>24905212
(Oh I thought you guys meant a different type of integration training)

You make a note to start that when you get back to the Armstrong as well as to bug Flit for that Bit data so you can get the stupid pieces of crap to work for once.

Anything you want to do before leaving the colony? You only have five days left to proper are it's already 5:00 PM, wasting an hour coming back her would be a bad idea.
>>
>>24905193
Agreed. Four teams, playing 2 vs 2. Each team switches once per match.
That way, we all get to know each other and how we work. After that, compile all the combat data that could be useful.

Also, did we send over all those upgrades to the Fardain and the Pirates?
I had an idea about creating an improved targeting system based on that custom OS we made for the troops.
>>
>>24905290
Ask if they've done any research on allowing humans to withstand higher Gs.
>>
>>24905307
Has Jake sent the fire-control updates to the other ships yet?
>>
>>24905348
I think he only sent them the data for the beam cloths. The rest was sent to Flit.

Anyway, I was thinking about linking multiple individual targeting systems. Each MS has its own targeting system and radar, right?
The idea is that all nearby suits share this data, and based on that, better calculate where the enemy is and how he's moving, increasing their accuracy.
Kinda like a hive mind of targeting computers.
>>
>>24905348
Oh you gave those details to Madorna and the guys with your ship upgrades. It's nice when you don't have to do everything yourself for a change.

>>24905333
You go around to the researchers who aren't high off their asses on LSD and talk to them about anything that could be be done to increase a human being's G-Force resistance.

The general consensus, nothing to do with the brain anyway. Sometimes a person can increase their G-Force resistance through training or just natural persistence, however they say that with the right surgical, genetic or possibly cybernetic modifications they could withstand a lot more then a regular person could, of course the guy you heard that from was half-asleep and drinking from the coffee pot so your not sure how reliable that info is.

>>24905307
>>24905519
The MX3 OS had nothing to do with targeting, it just allowed more unpredictable, faster movement by allowing the pilots to interrupt the existing movement macro's mid-operation for faster reactions and less interference from the machine itself.

The computer-link targeting systems is a good idea, but they'd have to be very close for it to work, unless you want the suits to be throwing off signals enemies can pick up and home in on.

Anything else Jake?
>>
>>24905557
Yes, I was thinking about them being close for it to work. They're going to attack in squads, so each squad should be linked together, not all the troops on the battlefield at once.
Maybe we even create a proximity trigger - if a friendly unit gets close enough, they get linked and share that data. If the unit leaves the group, the link is broken.
>>
>>24905557
Nothing I can think of. Time to head back to the colony.
>>
>>24905557
>Sometimes a person can increase their G-Force resistance through training or just natural persistence
[X] Find Mask.
[X] Attach godly verniers.
[X] Repaint Gundam white.
[X] Attach red Roman helmet crest.
[X] Call yourself Zech Merquise.
[X] Pilot at LUDICROUS SPEED until you stop spitting out blood.
>>
>>24905557
Do they have something to disable X-Rounders? Maybe some frequency that'd stop their precognition powers.
>>
>>24905557
Do Gundam pilot suits act like real-life pilot suits? Half the time, you don't see Gundam pilots wearing suits. Real-life combat pilots, on the other hand, always wear suits because the suits are made to increase G-force tolerance. If we don't have G-force suits, we need to make them somehow.
>>
>>24905705
We hardly know anything bout X-rounders and that is some data we can look into at the Ambat Invasion.

The More X-Rounder Data we get the more we can develop X-Rounder/Anti-X Rounder Tech

For the most part, but your using a stock pilot suit. If you want to have a heavy duty G-Force resistant suit you'll probably want to make a custom one. Of course there's only so much you can do to resist G-Forces, I mean the Black Raven was moving at speeds that would literally kill you, like Raspberry Jello Jake kind of kill.

You decide to go back to the ship to get some work done and probably get some training in. Bits, Training, then party until...well until something happens.

You leave the colony without any issues, outside of some asshole cop giving you a parking ticket, a fucking parking ticket on your mobile suit, and manage to make it back to the Armstrong after an hour of flying. Liz and the other engineers are busy as hell with the work on the Diva and Armstrong, which is nearly finished.

It’s 6:00 PM, Dad, Woolf and the other pilots are all out practicing. Flit is busy monitoring Largan’s test run of the newly modified AGE-1.2, but has already sent you the data to your laptop. You notice while getting the data that you have received a reply from Dr. Jones.

So what do you want to do? Bits, Training, or Dr. Jones Email?
>>
>>24906275

"All future archaeological finds by the restored Gundam will be forwarded to you. Expect a well preserved custom rifle and a preserved pilot from the Colony Wars soon."
"After the mission is completed, the Gundam will be sent back to you."

Then, when we have time, create a copy of the original Gundam and send it back.

However now we're helping said mutineer to destroy the U.E. Fortress Ambat under the promise Grodek will turn himself in once it's done. Along the way we captured Desil and turned him to our side, saved Yurin, got our girlfriend kidnapped and turned into an Artificial X-Rounder who is slowly dying and found out the U.E. Aren't actually aliens but pissed off Martian Colonists who the Federation tried to kill after they found out they weren't all dead. >So G Gundam mixed with some UC?
Kind of. AGE was always in a weird sort of hybrid state in between Real Robot tropes and Super Robot tropes. We've been trying to stabilize it, and maintain both the cool political stuff and the over the top action and drama. It's worked pretty well so far, in large part due to Crosswire doing some excellent world building based on what little the series showed us.

>What do we have in terms of Suits, pilots, and what kind of ordinance do we have?
The list goes on an on. We've got two Gundams and a large number of grunt suits with varying levels of customization. We've got the AGE Builder, which means we can reverse engineer and modify just about any tech we get our hands on. Crosswire is working on some tech trees, but for now it would be easier to look at the pages on the Gundam wiki for the following mobile suits and extrapolate what we can do from there: Gafran, Zedas, Farsia, Genoace, G-Exes, Shalldoll, Shalldoll Madorna Custom, AGE-1, AGE-1 Titus, AGE-1 Spallow, AGE-1 Beelzerga, AGE-1 Brocka, AGE-1 Goliath, and AGE-1 Badran.

In terms of pilots, we have: Flit Asuno, protagonist of the first arc in AGE; Woolf Enneacle, Flit's mentor figure and wing man; Largan Drace, perennial second-stringer of the Diva crew; Jack Crocker, a Federation ace who is a friend to Woolf and our dad; Jake Crocker(us), a badass in development who is personally responsible for shifting the setting at least three notches hopeward on the scale of Cynicism vs Idealism; Carlos, X-Rounder and horrible punster; Arnold; hypochondriac sniper; Tim, support character with few distinguishing characteristics; Ralphie, a brawler-style pilot who we haven't really interacted with much; and an assortment of nameless grunt pilots recruited from Euba, Zalam, and the Blackmarsh pirates.
>>
>>24907703
Our current rival, all of our former rival-type characters we've either befriended or killed rather quickly, has an absurdly fast custom Mobile Suit called the Black Raven, it accelerates and changes directions at G-Forces that would turn a normal pilot into goop.
>>
>>24907797
Speaking of which, did we manage to make wings for Ma G?
>>
>>24907821
No. It turns out that the level of complexity the Raven Feathers (a name which I have arbitrarily chosen for the armor scale/ fuel pod system) requires is beyond the AGE Builder. Crosswire did say we could probably use the AGE Builder to produce a custom one-off machine that can make the system, though not in time for it to be usable at Ambat.
>>
>>24907776
Just realized I forgot something on the unit list for reverse engineering. We have the AGE-1 Swordia, too. Though in this quest it's been retconned as being the result of reverse engineering from the Crusader Gundam, instead of an original AGE Builder creation.

"Captain, one of the ships is hailing us!" Dorthy Ann relays.

"Put it up on the main screen" Captain Frizzle orders.

"This Stoller Guavaran of the EFF 8th Space Fleet Special Detachment. We are here to arrest the mutineer Grodek Ainoa. If I understand correctly the Armstrong is supposed to be here to capture Grodek as well. Explain why you and the Diva have been docked her in this colony for nearly two weeks!" Stroller bites into a candy bar, Genoaces Deploying from the Darwin Class ships.

"We have Grodek in our custody, but he has a plan to attack the U.E. Fortress known as Ambat. We also have come across more information about the U.E that they're re-"

"I do not care about the U.E. Your mission was to detain and arrest Grodek, you have obviously gone against orders. We do not let mutineers off so easily. Prepare to be boarded" Stroller cuts off communications.

"How is this any different than what will happen after Ambat? One way or another, the story will get out. We can be the heroes who defied orders for the sake of the common good, or we can be the ruthless mutineers who disregarded all bounds of decency. That's our choice."
>>
>>24908515
The better plan is to fire the canon and make on full speed to Ambat. Let the future generations of peace time judge our actions
>>
>>24908405
(No, Language: English is only for understanding dialects and uncommon words, you really haven't had to use that)

>>24908314

You bite your lower lip. "This isn't right Frizzle, we can't just kill him! He's on our side, lemme talk to him before we do anything."

Frizzle shakes your head as you open the comms with Stroller.

"Listen to me! We're fighting humans! The U.E. are martian colonists from the Mars Birthday plan. The Federation left them there to die when they started getting sick. Then they sent ships to kill them off when they tried communicating with the Federation again. Don't you understand!? We started this, the Vagan want to kill us because of bullshit like this. We need to stop them here and now or else it's all over!"

Stroller shakes his head. "Even if that is true, I can't let you go. If you go free to do what you wish then how many others will abandon the Federation? One colony, then three colonys, then all of them! That is how the Colony Nations War began, by mutineers and dissidents! How can we hope to defeat the Vagan if we are not united as the Federation? I cannot let you go with a clear mind. You are coming with us and if you kill us, your not better then the Va-"

Suddenly there is a blinding light, the whole ship shakes as a massive blast of energy cuts through space, completely disintegrating the approaching Genoaces and the ships. When the blast ceases, there is nothing left of the ships.

"Captain, the Diva fired it's Photon Blaster Cannon..." Dorthy says, turning back to Frizzle.

"Grodek...you really do intend to shoulder all the blame, don't you?"

What is your reaction to this Jake?
>>
>>24908560
"Idiots, everybody is an idiot. The Vagan, us, the Federation, nobody is ever willing to listen to the others and it ends up with dead people on all the sides.

FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!!"

"WHAT. THE. FUCK. GRODEK."
"NOW WE'RE ALL GOING TO PAY BECAUSE OF YOU, YOU DUMB PIECE OF SHIT, YOU AND YOUR STUPID REVENGE."

>>24908497
Honestly, true, but I kinda doubt that the Vagan are going to give us two weeks of prep time.
They attacked once, and right now, they'd find us with our pants around our ankles. And now, we're fucked either way.
>>
>>24908560
" I wish it didn't have to end this way. What's wrong with these people? Genocide, incompetence, greed, hate. Why can't they fucking learn!? You know what? Fuck the Federation. Fuck the Vagan. My priority is helping Melis and keeping my home and family safe. The Vagan and Feddies can burn."
>>
>>24908625
They tried a couple of days ago. Our forces slaughtered them. The Vagan have the upper hand in tech, but they're incredibly arrogant in the beginning. They won't take us truly serious until Jake levels Ambat.
>>
>>24908560
"well thats going to haunt me for the rest of my life, lets get this show on the road before something else gose wrong."
>>
>>24908560
Shit. That societal reform can't come soon enough. Time to start a propaganda war.
>>
>>24908560
"And how is that going to work? We're already guilty by association. It's going to get out after Ambat. What, are we just going to pretend that we showed up after the battle was already over? Because we're in too deep for that. How many people have seen us working with the Diva? Or maybe we'll say that he forced us along to help him. Because we certainly don't have the capabilities to oppose him, right? Getting out of this with no one knowing we went rogue is impossible. From the beginning, our only hope was to succeed and win the battle so spectacularly that the Federation couldn't punish us without political fallout. The only way out is through. All that this accomplished was needlessly killing soldiers just doing their job."

I want to ask Grodek what his family would think of him now that he's both a killer and a traitor.
They must be so proud of him, now that he's no better than the Vagans he hates so much.
>>
>>24908641
"How are we going to get away now! We're fucked by association!"

"Grodek does intend to take the blame for everything. The Federation loves it's scapegoats. As long as Ambat is gone and Grodek confesses to 'forcing' everyone to do his bidding, we'll all get off scott free. He'll probably get 20-30 years in prison, if I can get an entire fleet butchered and only get bumped down to Captain then why can't he get jail time over the death sentence?" Captain Frizzle states.

"UGH! Idiots, everybody is an idiot. The Vagan, us, the Federation, nobody is ever willing to listen to the others and it ends up with dead people on all the sides.

FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!!"

" I wish it didn't have to end this way. What's wrong with people? Genocide, incompetence, greed, hate. Why can't they fucking learn!? You know what? Fuck the Federation. Fuck the Vagan. My priority is helping Melis and keeping my home and family safe. The Vagan and Feddies can burn." you grit your teeth and storm off the bridge.

You don't know if you'll ever be able to forget that. Sure he was an arrogant ass but he obviously just wanted to protect the Federation and probably his family.

"Oh, so killing three crews of people is fine with you? Great, real great Dad" You hang up in anger and call Flit, hoping for someone to agree with you.

I'm seriously fucking tempted to when we get done with the Vagan to march Gundam up to the buildings full of corrupt politicians and hold a sword over them, they're the problem, the ones who cause all of this stupid bullshit."

If you let the info about the Vagan leak out onto the web, it could be disastrous. People could actually begin to side with the Vagan, more lives could be lost from the new found Vagan sympathy. It's doubtful that anything that comes from this will be good and it's very unlikely people will ask for a stop to the fighting or the Vagan will even be inclined to listen.

All of it would be on your shoulders...

What do you wish to do Jake
>>
>>24909984

Lets not do that. That will turn this into an Total War with billions of dead.

Go to bed.
>>
>>24910091
Oh my, yes. And I'm still going with my "rebuild Ambat's communication array to hit the whole Mars Sphere" plan from last thread. The first step to ending this problem is ensuring accountability from our leaders, on both sides. Clearly the system is too heavily based on scapegoating and evasion if Grodek could manage to take the fall for the entire fleet we've built. Likewise with the Vagans, if their military is willing to employ the people we've seen from them.
>>
>>24910146
I say we work out the frustrations by making something.
>>
>>24910146
Focus on the task at hand. Make sure Carlos knows how to work those fancy new bits we made for him, and check up on Hogan and the pirates to make sure everything is in order. Everything else will have to be last minute changes. We got less than 4 days, so we better make them count.

This generation is going out with a bang.

Clearly good politics is lost on you. We need to keep that shit secret until the time is right.
>>
>>24910146
We don't do it yet. We leak it slowly, using our knowledge as currency to make backroom deals and establish support for our cause. Let the rumors from what we do tell spread, so that general distrust in the Federation grows. But we ensure the same happens to the Vagan. We end this by making both sides unwilling to trust the story their leaders tell them.

>>
>>24910189
You didn't make the bits, you modified his suit so that it'll be able to use the bits, you hope. You'll have to make the actual bits tomorrow.

>>
>>24910227
What a load of shit. Causing chaos for the sake of chaos? Put yourself in their position. What will really be gained for this? Piece of mind? Bullshit.
This is war. Revealing the true origins of the Vagan will only stir conflict in every echelon of society. We're not fucking anarchists. That would cause suffering that would put the deaths of 3 federation crew to shame.

I'm for making Ambat a secret base of our own, where we'd use more data miners to uncover everything, on both the feds and the Vagan.
We use that data to protect colonies and innocent people, and slowly leak out particular parts that'd change the world for the better.
You know, scandals, politicians, bribes...

Indeed they are. I liked the complication of the Federation ships you threw us today. Made for some fun debate.
>>

Timing is everything. Letting it out now would just cause anarchy, yeah. Not a good thing. If we could just find the right time and place, Jake might be able to throw the brakes on everything. Timing...

I agree with this. Make the virus, but hold off on using it until something really atrocious happens. Then set the world fire, because by that point it probably already is and the two infernos could burn each other out. Don't deploy yet, because the facility Mellis is at could be compromised because of riots.

I suppose we shall feed them humans for their consumption.

Wait. No. Seriously, it takes scrap to make shit. We're better off joining the pirates. Maybe infiltrating Vagans like Kincaid Nau did to Jupiter.
>>
>>24910451
They could always be made semi organically. Just have them take in solar energy and have that fuel their growth.
>>
>>24910353
That could actually work. The Federation doesn't acknowledge the Vagan threat, and certainly won't acknowledge their origin. Do we even have to tell them we took Ambat? They managed to cover up a major military operation, why can't we? It's not like it would actually change anything in their policy. Hell, they don't monitor Ambat, or else we wouldn't be in this position to begin with. Let's just stay there. We can use it for our own without anyone but the Vagans knowing.
>>
>>24910485
Vagans are in bed with Feddy high command ala Axis and Titans. There's a reason why I compared the Titans with the Federation just now.
>>
>>24910485
I think we must tell them about Ambat and what happened and why we didn't take Grodek in immediately.
So, we tell them that he threatened us, forced us to attack the colony, and that he's to blame for everything.
In the meantime, the pirates set up kip there and chill out. I doubt that the Feds are going to bother with them with a full out war going on.
We also get MaG and CD to create dumb AIs whose only purpose is to slowly and carefully leak out information.

Who knows, maybe we even get the Black Raven to join us when she realizes that we're also anti-Feds.

Why wouldn't it be viable to make AGE Builders that can produce their own mining facilities? It's the most advanced fabricator in the world. It can clearly make all the rectifying crystals and electronic circuits needed for all the toys we've been building, so it can do very complex refining processes. We set it up to make more tools as it needs them. Put some limit on total number of generations that can be built, then throw it at the Trojan Asteroids. Power isn't a problem. There's no mention of any Jovian Energy Fleet equivalent in AGE, so clearly the reactors run off a different cycle than the deuterium-helium 3 reaction. Probably something like hydrogen-boron, given how hot they run. Whatever it is, the fuel is probably commonly available. Even if it isn't, we can just send them to Jupiter or Saturn for the threelium they need. We can totally bootstrap ourselves up to having an army of robots all by ourselves.

Good point. I hadn't made that mental connection between "collusion between leaders" and "knows where the bases are". I guess I figured they'd be too paranoid to reveal the location of their forces.
>>
>>24910548
Doesn't matter until Jake becomes aware of that. Right now our only priorities are to take Ambat and save Mellis, while making sure as few of our bros die as possible.
>>
>>24910641
And as many Vegans dies as possible right?
>>
>>24910655

Fuck them. We have a job to do, and they're in the way.
>>
>>24910641
Don't worry, I was only objecting "Take Ambat as a base, Feddies won't know".
>>
>>24910675
Woah now. Let's not go full butcher here. We will need the scientists for all we can get to make sure we can properly help Mellis and killing the civvies now would just make things harder for us with dealing with the Vegans. Military though, we deal with as needed.
>>
>>24910742
Agreed. I'm all for saving the noncombatants and sending them home under the protection of the Black Devil.
And promising them how the Federation will pay for their crimes as well. You know, fighting the war in the hearts of men.
>>
>>24910742
I'm talking about the regular army, not the civilians. We're not going to talk down every Vagan that comes on that battlefield. We're killing them without a thought, because if we don't, we're dead as dust.
The noncombatants will be unharmed.
>>
>>24910780
Sounds logical.
