1 vote Male.
1 vote Female.
1 vote each for willlingly given, forcibly taken, and dead blood from a vial.

Actual age has been determined to be 3 and a half decades. This makes us neither young nor old, as vampires go, tending more towards the younger side of the spectrum.

If there is no tiebreaker, Blood and gender will be determined randomly.

You grimace. The blood in your mouth is old and cold, long since parted from its owner. But even in its dead state, it's enough to breathe life into your doll-like body once again.
You grasp the edge of the indentation you lie in and drag yourself into a seated position, blurry eyes searching for the one who revived you.

A familiar face swims into view. A minor servant of yours, will long since broken by the long-term effects of your eyes and teeth. You take a moment to take stock of your surroundings, and catch a glimpse of a silver key upon your servant…

> What is the servant?
> Human - An ordinary human, long-since enthralled by your mesmeric gaze to the point where it has no will of its own. Still as smart as it was before, though. (Male or female at your discretion.)
> Ghoul - A human that has fed of your blood, transforming it into a stupid, lumbering revenant under your direct telepathic control. Incredibly strong and fast, but dislikes sunlight.
> Warg - an animal you've ridden the senses of for long periods of time, becoming more intelligent than its comrades and becoming dependent on your control. Lacks hands, but otherwise loyal and intelligent.

> Where are you?
> The vaulted halls of a grand catacomb
> In a coffin, freshly dug up from a cemetery
> Sitting upright in a hastily-dug shallow grave.

What does the key unlock?
> The door to a particular castle you own.
> The front door of a house nearby where you can take shelter.
> An emergency chest you prepared and planted nearby, filled with supplies.

OP, lay down the rules for vampness in this universe.

We're 300 something so unless it's ohnoamnesia we should know this shit.

Sunlight is kill? If yes is it immediate?
Can only human blood be drunk or does animal also work? Are the detrimental effects to any kind of blood? I know that in some universes dead blood is poisonous.
If sunlight doesn't kill, stake through the heart? Does it have to be wood?
Decapitation?
Do we regenerate? If yes does it require actively feeding afterwards to heal or will we always regen assuming we're well fed?
Mind fuckery? What scale are we at? Number of people? Strength of influence? Is it instant for the full effect or does it require multiple sessions?

Probs more I forgot.
>>
>>24965549

Sunlight and other vampire weaknesses depend on how well you are adapted to them.
Regeneration and power of mindfuckery also vary by vampire. Some vampire are "old-master" types, some are "nosferatu" types.

This has yet to be determined in full for us; we're still undergoing character creation.

Human or animal blood can be drunk. Dead blood or animal blood tastes terrible though, and doesn't sate hunger as well as living human blood.

You shake your head, and the world clears. Your dedicated butler from the castle stands over you, pressing a glass vial of long-dead blood to your cold lips as he leans over your sepulchre.

You smile, fangs tinged with red, and seize his arm, biting into the flesh and taking his living blood to sate your rekindled hunger. He doesn't even flinch. For a long moment, your mind is once again filled with nothing but red; but the moment passes. You snatch the key from his belt, and beckon him to follow you. It's time to retake your rightful place in the castle above from the foe that struck you down.

Who managed to lay you to rest, however temporarily?

The stats are:
Ferocity: Physical power and intimidation through savagery. Also may affect how animals treat you.

Eeriness: The degree to which you can radiate eldritch wrongness. Affects the strength of your magical abilities and mindfuckery, and how good you are at scaring the hell out of people.

Celerity: How fast and dextrous are you? How good are you at flying?

Masquerade: How good are you at ignoring standard vampire weaknesses and hiding your vampiric nature? How good are you at persuading others?

Acumen: How smart and obervant are you? How much occult and esoteric knowledge do you possess?

Discipline: How much mental fortitude do you possess? In a contest of wills, can you protect yourself? How long can you survive without blood without entering a feeding frenzy?

From chargen, you have bonuses to base stats of:

+20 to Eeriness
-5 to Ferocity
+15 to Acumen
+10 to Discipline

We'll probably have tea parties with everyone. Does vampire blood in this setting do anything to humans?

Heal wounds? Hallucinogen?

Vampire Rules as they apply to us:
We may choose to cast a reflection or shadow without particular effort. (also applies to cameras)
We can cross running water easily.
We regenerate from wounds, but it will raise our Hunger to do so quickly. If we sustain major damage, we retreat to our coffin to regenerate. The taste of blood will wake us immediately; otherwise it may require a few days to fully revive from major damage. If we're killed while regenerating, we stay dead.
Indirect sunlight is uncomfortable but can be withstood. Direct sunlight inflicts pain immediately and will set us on fire after about a minute of exposure.
Fire is bad and takes a lot longer to recover from.

> I will be away for roughly an hour. Feel free to discuss names and actions.
>>
>>24966437
...4 unspent.
Out of curiosity, what would it take to get a fully staffed orphanage up and running?
>>
>>24966698
Well that would depend on the guest, there are some guests that it would be wholly unwise to fuck with whether it be through their own power or organizations they are tied to, and it would be bad to get the reputation of enslaving everyone who came to us for advice if we ever wanted more guests.

I was thinking more the social forcing than the mind fuckery forcing, make them have a creepy tea party with us, you know with us talking to stuffed animals during it and pouring them tea, properly placed cobwebs on the china, taking 'advice' from stuffed animals over them, gently but firmly reprimanding everyone at the table, including the stuffed animals, about proper etiquette. See how much they take before they snap or we start laughing our ass off because they actually believed us.
>>
>>24966727
Don't care about the name. I just want her to look really pale and have white hair like those first couple dolls.

We could walk around with a parasol (counts as indirect sun?) and the look would complement our mini-eldritch horror thing we got going.
>>
>>24966727
Mind control:
Direct eye contact will let us dominate people outright with no save at our level of mindfuckery.
We can hold about a score of people dominated.
We can nudge people with our voice to do things in our interest. Weakly, this is just general inclination to like us (charm person); with our full weight behind it it becomes a compulsion. More reasonable requests are less likely to be resisted.
Long term exposure to our gaze, voice and feeding results in revenants or absolutely loval slaves.
>>
>>24966742
Who said anything about enslaving? Just puppeting for a while or demanding a half-pint or so from a convenient vein if that want our help. They did come to us after all, so they should have been aware of the risks and be appropriately desperate.

Oh, jest read your description of the tea party. No. If we do that then they'll try taking the poor, lost child back to civilization where we will immediately be shunted into social services pool of orphans.

Oh. Oh that works well. Assuming that the hunters don't screen foster care for vampires that could work very well for what I have in mind. Good thinking anon!
>>
>>24966727
Could you give us an idea, when you get back, on what sorts of magical bullshittery we can pull off with our Eeriness and Acumen?

I say for dealing with this motherfucker we use home field advantage, we know the terrain. Sneak up on him, start decaying his willpower by hitting him with illusions, creepy voices on the edge of his hearing, seeing things out of the corner of his eye, once he's in a suggestible state we can start telling him with compulsions to put down his weapons, that we'll protect him, that we can make the voices go away, if that works we can then easily look him in the eye and Dominate the fucker.

>>24966778
I'd prefer pale alabaster skin and long black hair, and probably a nice dress as well. I agree on the parasol.

>>24966798
Okay, I misunderstood. What we take in payment would probably differ depending on what they had to offer. If they had knowledge, books, or were of sufficient power that a favor from them was worth a fair bit we'd take that, otherwise some blood, forced servitude for a time depending on the level of favor, and so on.

>>24966823
It's not about moralfagging, it's about not developing a reputation in the community as a backstabbing mind-enslaving tart. We do want guests, life gets oh so dull if nobody ever comes to visit.

PLANS FOR WHEN OP GETS BACK!

Observation 1, our servants were able to carry us away to safety and we can't hear the sounds of a full scale battle above. (OP should have mentioned something like that)

Conclusion 1, It was a small group or single individual. Our castle hasn't been overrun.

Observation 2, we can enslave whole groups of people with a single look, with no saves allowed.

Conclusion 2, clearly a surprise attack. Either someone came to us as a guest then turned on us, or some stealthy fucker crept in the window.

Suggested action: Use MAGIC to turn invisible, (with our scores I assume we can do this) make eye contact with the cunt that attacked us and insta-slave him.

Opinions?
>>
>>24967149
I'd rather use MAGIC to have the furniture and the massive doll collection that we surely have come alive and attack him.

>>
>>24967232
YES! YES! YES!
>>
>>24967149
I put my suggestions >>24966856

It's probably a solo individual and we know our castle better. I'd prefer to lure him into some part of the castle and wage psychological warfare on our opponent with Magic first rendering him off balance and suggestible, then using our Voice to get him to drop his weapons and put himself in a position where we can dominate him.

Invisibility might help as well, either through making ourself invisible or just fucking with his head so he just doesn't see us.

>>24967232
We can't just go turning people who have tea with us into dolls willy nilly. Seriously, think long-term. If we get a reputation in the vampiric/supernatural community of everyone who comes to visit us disappearing off of the face of the earth nobody will ever come have tea with us ever again.
>>
>>24967149
I'd like the irony of running to a nearby village and convincing them that a "monster" recently invaded that castle and that they must rise up and a torch and pitchfork wielding mob to deal with the menace before it is too late. Yours works though. Also, if our eyes are invisible does it count as eye contact?
>>
>>24967232
If by dolls you mean puppetable blood bags, then I had already assumed that was the plan. If you mean desiccated corpses, then these tea parties just got much more interesting.
>>
>>24967232
Have this playing.

"Would you like to see my doll collection?"
Then smile innocently as we close our eyes and tilt our head to the side. The music starts.

The guests sit there, visibly perturbed. They're starting to shake as the doors creek open.

Dolls made from the bodies of previous guests saunter through the entryway, moving in an unnatural manner that would betray their inhumanity were it not for their emotionless visages.

The guests are sweating at this point. They want to run. We can hear their brain screaming. But they remain seated.

"Would you like some more tea?

>>24967283

>>24967355

>>
>>24967355

>>
>>24967418
>blood bags go bad after a few years.

>>
>>24966727
How long have we been out? A few days? A week? A month? Decades? Dare I ask CENTURIES? (Maybe our butler became immortal somehow). How do we know that our enemy is still in control of our castle? Maybe our butler can tell us.
>>
>>24966856
Honestly I sort of agree with him. We get in the good graces of the nearby town, raiding a more distant town for blood and servants. At our level of magical ability travel to a more distant town should be trivial. People are far less likely to rally torches and pitchforks if they'd have to travel a month barefoot to even reach the vampire.
>>
>>24967283
>>24967232

Defiantly not turning on our guests or clients.
We are the mistress of this castle. Well educated, ancient and noble. We would never turn on guests in such a way.

But turning our victims into beautiful polished dolls for our collection sounds awesome.

Not just ant rif-raf though. We do have standards.

They can populate our dungeon and and we can sic on our enemies. Nothing says "you're fucked" like a tidal wave of twisted hobo-flesh.
>>
>>24967485
Agreed. No turning on guests/clients.
However, we should hold tea parties with them, and require "payment" for our "services." A pint or two of blood to speak to us, then the costs can be discussed at the tea party. If our customer cannot pay their dues, then we "repossess" their bodies and turn them into dolls.

I'd like to play a vampire with at least a basic sense of morality. You know, doesn't abuse the slaves and all that. Keep the local villagers loyal for reasons other than fear or mind-fuckery. Let the torch-and-pitchfork mob lynch well-meaning hunters. Trumped by self-preservation, of course, and sometimes we just have to eat some dumb fucker.
>>
>>24967625
>guests/clients
I wanted to have some murder tea parties with random people that we kidnap purely because we like their aesthetics and they would make pretty dolls.

Not a regular happening, but we would gather up a dozen or so, paralyze them to stay in their chair, and have the tea party. One by one the older dolls come in and drag them away to the crafting chambers while the other guests look on in horror.
>>
>>24967669
Moralfag get out.
>>
>>24967485
Exactly what I was saying. We maintain a good reputation, we might not be exactly good, but if we want to accrue favors, allies, and not have kill teams sicced on our neotenous ass we treat our guests and clients well, aid them in what they need help with should they be able to pay the price we name, we might throw creepy tea parties just to fuck with their heads because it's hilarious, but they leave as they came, intact, even if we do not come to an agreement and they reconsider purchasing our services they walk out the front door unharmed.

This isn't about moralfagging, this isn't about wanting to white knight anything. This is about playing smart. We may be damn good at what we do, but there's bigger fish out there, and smaller fish can gang up and fuck us over.

Now anyone who violates hospitality or comes with intent to harm us or take things from us, them we can do whatever horrific things we wish to.

>>24967625
Not all guests or clients would be required to pay to see us, if they're powerful in their own right, represent a group that we don't want to mess with, or anything like that we don't take any. Honestly blood is easy to get, we'd only take it for small favors for small people, unless it's very rare and interesting blood. Knowledge, favors, books, artifacts, magical items, blackmail on others, that's what our prices will usually consist of.

And yes, if someone reneges upon our agreement they're open game. If they simply say "I'm sorry Ms. Markova, the price you have asked for your assistance in this matter is too high. I wish you a pleasant evening and shall seek for aid elsewhere." Then we let them go.

Their shrivelled, mummified forms shrunken and delicate.
Dressed in fine cloths and adorned with well groomed wigs.

It is only when the dolls begin to move and draw true attention to themselves do people begin to notice the macabre truth beneath the surface.

May have been old friends or confidants. Even evil people have friends, people they trust, liked, thought of a interesting to talk to, and may have had access to the best tea leaves we'd ever had.

But we knew they were going to get old, and they would not adapt to the life of a vampire well. So we keep them around as a reminder of the times we shared.

Yes, whole groups of people who make direct eye contact with you.
However, at some point you'll start losing people from the edges of your control- you can only maintain so many dominations at once.

If you have someone dominated and focus on them you can make them hallucinate basically whatever you want.

Magic:
With your Eeriness, you can do all the standard vampire transformations (bat/cloud of bats, wolf, mist), be a living shadow, move invisibily and noiselessly, and may choose to radiate passive sanity damage. Minor telekinesis and illusion are second nature to you.

Your Acumen means you're intelligent and perceptive, meaning you're highly unlikely to be ever caught off guard. It also means you know a decent number of rituals and some advanced shadow and blood magic. If you want to cast as an offensive thing, you're best off fighting on a full tank of blood and in a dark area.

As people are talking about animated dolls etc:
You can make nonliving dolls appear animated through applications of your Eeriness- (telekinetically maneuvering them and causing others to hallucinate voices.)
For actual animated dolls, you'd have to use a ritual to make them, either from regular dolls or from something with a brain.

Yes, you can turn people you dislike into toy animals to play with. That's a thing. But it'll require domination and ritual - in other words, personal attention.

We won't be getting that many boring bog-standard average people knocking at our door for our expertise.

And it's not tiptoeing, it's standard hospitality etiquette, I can't really think of anyone that would have more adherence to tradition and etiquette than a vampire.

The castle, as befits a true vampiric castle of a vampire of your caliber, does not have one location. Nor does it necessarily have sensible geometry. Other entrances form and dissipate according to your will and that of the Castle; it has somewhat of a mind of its own.

We know illusions. In fact we're very good at them. And implanting thoughts, I think. Reports of an evil blond little boy a few towns over that keeps showing up in conjunction with 'dissappearances' should prove a decent distraction for the local hunter community while we recover and rebuild.
>>
>>24968080
Given that we're 350 years old and sharp as a tack due to absurd Acumen can we just assume that we probably know whatever languages we need to know.

Do parasols allow us to move around at day under partial sunlight? (Keeps us from combusting?)

I vote for renaissance Europe.

Given that we live in a castle and our name is (unless we get some swing votes) Isabella Katarina Markova, we're probably in Europe.

I vote for the renaissance time period because I think is has a lot of potential.

As long as we're still in excruciating pain I would support this.

>If we ever have sex our hymen will just regenerate.

If we can form connections/portals through space, why not through time? Seriously, just gene us a door to wherever you think is interesting and let's see how it goes.

>You're uncertain about the world outside, as you don't know how much time has passed.

For starters, we can get an update from the butler.

A parasol will let you move around a city in daylight, so long as you stay in the shadows of buildings. It will generally suck for you, but it won't do permanent damage.

Open field? Yeah, you'll combust.

This is why the turning of vampires with intact hymens is considered a taboo. Also, tends to lead to rebellious progeny and murder of the sure down the road.

Then again, our pain tolerance might be decent?
>>
>>24968223
Please don't.

Time travel shenanigans never goes well. It's just annoying and convoluted. It will detract from the quest more than it could possibly add.

>>
>>24968223
Well first we deal with the Hunter, we can use our Vampire Magic to find him, remain unseen, psychologically set him off balance, then dominate him after we've used our Voice to get him to drop his weapons, or something like that.

Y'know, I just wrote up a serious post explaining that I just want to play a vampire quest that includes all of urban fantasy, traditional horror, victoriana, and japan, but you know what? I can just fucking make a single setting that involves them all.

He had a good start, has a system in place, people are just bitching because they think that just because our castle is magical as all fuck and the 'when' of our doors isn't necessarily consistent that it's going to be a clusterfuck. I somehow doubt we'll be having tea in ancient egypt and then going to a cyberpunk future.

Just give him a chance and see where it goes, don't start bitching before anything has even happened.

>>
>>24968467
This.... This could work.

A world where magic and monsters are real. There are societies where magic is prevalent and technological advancement was nerfed.

Societies where magic was weak so the people relied on technology instead. Some countries had their industrial revolution a thousand years ago. Some had it just decades ago. Some probably never will.

Just like the IRL division between the developed world and 3rd world nations that are still effectively in the iron age just with imported cars and stuff.
Only far more exaggerated because of magic being present.
>>
>>24968517
And after a nap we could be 420 and smuggled into Rome at the height of her power. Another nap, we in 1960s England. We dream as see ourselves out for a Parisian stroll long ago, smelling gun smoke and blood in the streets. Stories don't have to be linear is all I'm saying.

>>
>>24968593
Actually, I doubt there's much of a story at all, going by the lack of a setting and the wildly varying choices we were given as for who put us where.

Either this was all meaningless and we were going to get shuffled somewhere anyway or OP is going to pull everything out of his ass as we go with no planning.
>>
A few people seem convinced this is going to crash and burn. Can we give it a chance, please.

That stuff with our doll collection and tea parties was fucking gold! I really want to see that happen.

I've seen good quests die because no one bothered or just shit-posted them to death and I've seen shit quests thrive because people gave life to the story and saved it.
>>
>>24968631
Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, OP might be pretty good at that sort of thing.
>>
>>24968077
You concentrate a moment, and everything the butler knows is now known to you.

As his memories pour into your mind, your own return as well…

A man asked you to tea.

He paid the tithe.

He poisoned the tea with holy water.

You caught it, of course.

But it distracted you long enough for him to throw holy magic and crossbow bolts at you.

Of course, you blocked the crossbow bolts and shielded yourself form the light.

But meanwhile, he was burning your dolls…

And while you were shielding them from the fire he'd kindled, he somehow snuck in under your guard and hit you with a massive fucking hammer.

He's faster than he looks, and he's not an idiot. He knows not to look you in the eyes.

But he made a massive mistake when he went for your dolls.

As for the butler? He says you were only out a few hours. You have him specifically to revive you. He knows very little of what happened in the castle upstairs- he's essentially a personal servant for your sanctum, dedicated to reviving you when necessary. Shame your vintages of blood are running low at the moment...

But he does know the current state of the castle portals.
>>
>>24968661
The doors that are currently open are to:

Mark, in Grand Victoria, the land of the Ever-Shining Sun. Fields fleets of airships that cross oceans to many other lands, trading for spices, silks and tea. Watched over carefully by inquisitors both official and unofficial, carefully guiding the light of the Empress to where it is needed most. Dangerous political waters for a known vampire, but extremely profitable if played right.

An abandoned castle in Ulvenwald, the land of bountiful forests. Dark and foreboding in its rocky crags and forgotten groves, a perfect place for a vampire who doesn't want visitors to live. Other, stranger creatures are rumored to live in the woods as well, and the villagers give sacrifice to pagan gods to keep away the things in the dark.

Shadescast, the Vampire City. The true location of the castle, passed down through vampire sires. An eternally-dark city hidden in the depths of the earth, where vampire clans strive for dominance and the purity of your blood is everything. Founded by a direct child of Dracula- but the both that first vampire and his direct children have been gone for centuries. Some say he is dead. Few believe it.
>>
>>24968685
So this dickass made it all the way into Shadeclast and hit us with a hammer after burning our dolls.

How the fuck is he still alive. Are all the vamps here incompetent? Apathetic?

Perhaps he's a hitman. Well fuck
>>
>>24968661
>But he does know the current state of the castle portals.

>>
>>24968724
Actually, he would most likely be from Ulvenwald.
>>
>>24968661
>he was burning your dolls…
His death will be slow and creative.

Let's get started, turn invisible. Moving unseen and unheard, go upstairs and figure our what's happening.

If the dicks still here looting our home....

If he's gone already, we'll know more once we've had a look around and got our bearings.
>>
>>24968685
Good stuff to know. But first we have an unwelcome intruder who ought to be taken care of.

Turn on our silent movement and being difficult to see. Head into the castle proper and determine his location, he will not live through today.

Once we have his location we can get creative, I like causing a lot of san damage.
>>
Are we good enough to mindfuck other vampires?

How populous is Shadeclast?
>>
>>24968766
I'm not the OP, but my guess would be that it depends on the vampire.
>>
>>24968724
>So this dickass made it all the way into Shadeclast and hit us with a hammer

He came as a guest and paid the tithe to enter.

Then the dick turned on his host as we offered him tea!

Rolled 42

>>24968751

You shift your form, easily slipping beneath the door as a shadow and creeping along the floor of the familiar hallways of the Castle.

You nudge the Castle, and for once it seems like it's in a helpful mood. You find the intruder after two right hand turns that inexplicably place you on a third-story hallway, the stained-glass windows looking out over a darkened forest.

The hunter is smashing them.

You specially warded them so that the stained glass would protect from the sun.

Nothing you can do to this... person... will be enough.
>>
>>24968791
Despite your rage, you manage to prevent yourself from immediately attacking the damned fool.

No. He will live a long life yet.

With knowledge of blood magic, I bet we could keep him alive for years.

He burned our dolls. Our beautiful collection. Our memories. Some of them had been with us for centuries, we will never see their faces again.

He will no die a quick death.
>>
>>24968804
Time for the mindfuckery to begin.

Have him start hearing giggling children in the edge of his hearing, seeing things our of the corner of his eye, shadows he sees form into monstrous images before disappearing in the blink of an eye, have a woman's voice tell him that he failed, that he failed and he couldn't protect anyone. Have any paintings in the room watch him and move subtly. If possible make him feel chills down the back of his spine and creepy-crawly sensations.

Make sure to stay hidden during this and behind cover if possible. Let's break this fuck.
>>
>>24968804
>>24968791
Spooky magics to make the castle come alive around him.
>>
>>24968766
We're stronger than many other vampires when it comes to mindfuckery.

But any of the truly dangerous ones would be a challenge.

And vampires are harder to hold on to than humans. They'd put up a fight at least.

Nominally, shadescast has an aristocracy based on blood.

This means something quite different when you realize that vampires who want to be nobles will just eat the nobles.

So the nobles are naturally powerful, and have many, many followers.

You are a minor noble. You're small enough that none of the major houses will pay attention to you unless you do something to make them. Still, you're not a commoner.
>>
>>24968854
Wait.. Vampires eat eachother in this setting?

Brootal.

But I asked the population. How many vamps live here?
>>
>>24968804
>What will you do...?
I assume OP has seen Evil Dead? (original, not the remake)

Once we've given him some nice san damage. Mind-slave and lead him to our torture chamber. (I assume we have one)

He will be our long term project for the next 20-30 years.
>>
>>24968845
>>24968850

You creep along one wall, perching as a shadow atop the lintel of the window he is defacing.

And then you get to work.

First, you let him hear voices.

Small voices. Whispers, just on the edge of hearing. Tiny sounds, just eluding comprehensibility.

He twitches. He looks over his shoulder. He fingers his warhammer.

He goes back to bashing the glass.

So you make the air temperature around him drop five degrees. Then raise five degrees. Then drop five dregrees...

Before long it's clear that he's starting to feel seriously unwell and unsettled.

So you keep going.

Flickers at the edge of his vision. Things that vanish from the shadows as soon as he looks. The momentary impression of something cold brushing his neck...

He jolts bolt upright and swings his hammer to a readied positon. Every muscle in his body is coiled and ready.

The voices still linger in his ears. Still tantalizingly close...

"Die!"
The briefest, most momentary flicker of a massive fanged beast dropping from the shadows to feast on his flesh...

The vampire hunter reacts on pure instinct, throwing his warhammer at the foe...

And it sails out the broken stained-glass window.
>>
>>24968825
I'll support this as an opener to mindfuckery. He'll lower his guard to that if he thinks we're trying to strangle him.
>>
>>24968877
Yes, when they want to inherit.
>>
>>24968804
I believe it's time for him to start hearing the agonized wails of our dolls, and to taste a bit of tea on the air. Then we telekinetically (assuming we can) stab him through his right Achilles tendon with a convenient knife or broken doll limb.
>>
He screams, full of rage and fury, and rushes fowrward- and holds just short of the three-story drop to the forest below.

Basic fear takes over, and he retreats hastily from the edge...

And then the doubt sets in, as he realizes he's just thrown away his only physical weapon.

The hunter backs up against the opposite wall to the window, planting his back firmly against it.

You smile.

You touch a finger to the circle you drew in your own blood around him as you were having fun tormenting him.

And he feels the power of whatever pathetic god was aiding him wink out.

He raises his fists defensively, flinching away from every artful noise you make...

And then you let the copper tang of your blood reach his nose.

He blanches pale white. He falls to his knees, shaking. He slumps against the wall, praying for anything, anyone, someone, save him, this castle is possessed...

You slip in behind him, a shadow's thickness between him and the wall, and slowly, gracefully, reach around just so he sees the hand in his pheripheral vision…

And then you have him by the neck.

And he has no chance, no chance to struggle whatsoever.

Not that he could.

And the breath is gone from his lungs in a single, choked-off scream.

The clang of metal on stone rings throughout the castle, and the distinct smell of piss rises from the hunter's prostrated body.

You frown. Even unconscious, he just keeps adding to his crimes…

But it's not you he really has to answer to.

It'll be your dolls.

You smile at that thought; and the barest thought brings their gleaming porcelain shells to your side.

"Transform him. Make him everything you are not. He deserves it. Make him understand that he deserves it."

The dolls nod their perfectly proportioned faces in unison, and bear the fallen hunter away.
>>
>>24969083
Assuming a "what do?" here, have our dolls start talking to him (brokenly ethereal voices), some telling him how much it hurt to break and others how much he'll come to enjoy tea. Find a way to disable him without engaging in combat, and mind spell him to keep from running.
>>
>>24969132
What a complete pile of scum, soiling our carpet, hurting our dolls, and breaking our windows.

We're going to have to get a servant to clean all of this up, we'll probably have to repair and reward the windows ourself.

Do we have the necessary tools and reagents to remake the windows or are we going to have to purchase new ones to ward up?
>>
OP, you might want to add a >cont. to the end of posts that are to continue.

And maybe a wat do at the end of your updates so that we know when to start answerin.
>>
>>24969169
You have the magical art to repair the damage he's done here. It's a relatively minor amount- Though you shudder to think of what else he might have done to your castle.

>>24969178
Yes, good point.

>What do you do?
>>
>>24969122
>stab him through his right Achilles tendon with a convenient knife or broken doll limb.
A load of broken glass around. That'll do.

Continue the mindfuckery. Make him see things no mortal should ever see. Fill his ears with screams and steal the warmth from his bones.

When he tries to run, slash his tendons and drop him like the bag of shit he is. Let him crawl through the broken glass, trying to escape the horrors surrounding him.

Once we've done as much san damage as we can with the hands-off approach, mind-slave him and take him somewhere 'comfortable'.

Also, be sure to pull out his knowledge and secrets when we mind-slave him. If anyone sent him, we should find out about that.
>>
>>24969190
Go interrogate the dumb fucker. Put him under piles of magical restraints so he can't throw holy magic around.

Who is he?
Why attack us?
How could someone possibly be this stupid?
>>
>>24969190
Call for a servant to clean up the piss, there's no way in hell we're touching that.

Then fix up the windows, we'll survey the rest of the damage later but the first priority is to keep the sound out of here.

Will the doll's treatment of the Hunter render us unable to get answers from him, whether through questioning or mindfuckery? If so we ought to get those answers about who he is, where he's from, who supports him, where he got the information about our location, that sort of thing, he's probably just a stupid holy man who saw a creepy castle and dropped by, but you can't be too careful. If we won't lose any information by letting our dolls play with him for a while then move onto surveying the rest of the damage the mongrel caused.
>>
About the windows...

I thought Shadeclast was subterranean. Why do we have sun-proof windows, exactly?
>>
>>24969235
He'll be permanently damaged by the dolls, but not in any way we care about.
>>
>>24969190
>wat do?

Have him taken away for a few decades of torture before he's made into a new doll.

Check the castle. We need to know what else this dick broke. Oh, fuck. We were out for a couple of hours.....

Just have a servant make a list.

Later, we should do some mind-rape and pull his memories and secrets. Did anyone send him? Will others come looking?

Also, any appointment scheduled for today? We expecting anything?
>>
>>24969242
Because you can see Ulvenwald from those windows.

The castle exists in many places. Some of them have daylight.
>>
>>24969242
Our castle isn't inextricably tied to one location, it is in Shadeclast but it also opens to other places. Right now these windows lead outside to Ulvenwald, a dark foreboding place of crags and ancient forests where strange creatures roam the night and scared men burn fires to their pagan lords.

>>24969252
Cool. Then I say let the dolls have their fun for a while and just get on repairs and checking what this miserable fuck did to our precious castle.
>>
>>24969242
Our doors can connect to different places. I guess our windows can too.
>>
>>24969259
The damage report makes it abundantly clear.
This man was deliberately sent to hurt you. Not to kill you. But to enrage you and make you suffer. This must be the work of another vampire.

There can be no other reason why he would burn your library.

You're going to wring his employer from this man...

But you have another appointment in an hour. The mayor of Mark, from Grand Victoria. He enjoys playing chess with you, though he avoids your eyes. And your place in his town depends on his carefully-held favor...

Being absent would be inopportune.

What do you do?
>>
>>24969453

What an unpleasant creature.
We need material to repair our little darlings, scraps of leather, tufts of hair.
What his line has stolen, it shall replace.
Make certain that he had no compatriots.
Then take him to the tower of our Art. Cast the circles and name the stars that hide behind the face of night. Call out to the blood in his veins. His parents, his siblings, his children, make them look with longing to the wilderness. Call them in daydreams and flights of fancy from the land beyond the forest. Call them to our door.
>>
>>24969498
Gotcha.

First, task our servants with fixing the mess the Hunter made, salvaging what can be salvaged from the destruction he caused, and preparing a room away from the clusterfuck the Hunter caused for us to play chess, drink tea, socialize.

Then quickly fix up the window, we don't want to let the sunlight in. Change outfits to something clean and appropriate for our guest. Frilly dress, elbow length gloves, put up our hair, make sure to look properly elegant and snazzy.

We have a Mayor to entertain and a lady does not let down her guests no matter what the state of her personal affairs.

I like this.

Some we will call to their blood.
Some will be carried off by figures in the night.
But they will all come to us.

And we will parade them in front of him when they arrive. He will see us work our art. See us transform the fleeting, transitory things into objects of lasting beauty.

And someday, long from now, he will join them.
>>
>>24969664
Bah, the Hunter was but a tool, a tool of flesh and blood, but a tool nonetheless. It was merely his hand that burnt our dolls, that devastated our collection of tomes, manuscripts, and journals, it was the will of another. While we can bring retribution to the hand, the wrist it sprang from, and all the fingers that have spawned from it, we will not have struck our true enemy.

We ought to focus our vengeance upon the one who commanded the Hunter, the one who spoke to him of us, our secrets and weaknesses, who set him upon us. We shall investigate and follow whatever leads we can, whether it brings us to the darkest pits or the brightest fields we shall find the answer, once we know who is to blame then we may retaliate for the suffering they have caused us, for the insult they have paid us. For Isabella Katarina Markova, vampire both ancient and noble, brooks no insult and always pays her enemies back in kind.
