LAST TIME ON GUNDAM AGE QUEST: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/24976729/
Follow me on Twitter to get Quest related updates!: https://twitter.com/Crosswire

Your name is Jake Crocker. You have successfully stormed the Vagan Space Fortress of Ambat, blasted the hell out of a shitload of Vagan suits, save your Dad from the crazy Pre-AG ace known as Black Raven and had him immobilize her and destroyed a giant ass mobile armor only to pierce and breach a reactor apparently designed by the “Special Needs” Engineering Corp.

You are sealed in a small room with the reactor releasing large amounts of coolant, 7 minutes away from going critical. The room is sealed by two large blast doors on both ends of the room.

You are currently wielding the Excalibuster, the Head of your Gundam is gone and your sensory capabilities are shot but backup visual sensors allow you to see fairly well.

Dad’s suit is missing its legs and has taken a major loss of speed and maneuverability.
The Black Raven and the crazed Rysis is currently tied up with a several nets and a couple hundred pounds of thruster clogged, joint ruining goo and won’t be going anywhere.

You need to get out of here and back to the Armstrong.
What will you do?

(Sorry for being late guys! I stayed up late working late night and just got up)
>>
Tell everyone to pack their things, we need to leave, now.
If it's anyway possible, find a way to help Hogan and the pirates in the command center first, and from there move towards the hangars.

Maybe we should hack into the Vagan communications, tell them to evacuate as well.
Also, save Rysis. She probably has the authority to open those blast doors instead of forcing us to blast through them.
>>
>>25035111
There you are! I was wondering what happened.

Evacuate Jack into the Crusader, then get the hell out! Open, hack, or cut through the blastdoors.Broadcast a warning over all channels about the oncoming explosion between while cursing about stupid Vagan and their stupidly exposed reactors. Run like a bitch!
>>
>>25035111
Are there any ruined Vagan MS around? We might be able to glue them together with the door, and send their reactors into critical. A Smaller reaction should bust the door open, and in space explosions are round so hopefully we'll be able to survive it. Then we grab Dad and Rysis, make like a tree, and split.
>>
>>25035189
No atmosphere, no shockwave. It could work. If Rysis asks why Jake is saving her, sheepishly admit his weakness for tsundere-types.
>>
>>25035233
It can work, but so far, the only thing here is the Defurse which probably blew up. And that would take too much time.
Better to ask Rysis to open the doors for everyone, considering how she trapped us here in the first place.
And if asked why are we helping her, better to go with something like "You fight for no reason, I help others for no reason."
>>
>>25035255
We could always use the J-Exes.
>>
>>25035111
"Okay, Rysis? You need to listen up and listen good. If we don't open the doors and get the hell out of here, we're going to be blasted into sparse carbon atoms. I know that we haven't seen eye to eye, putting it mildly, but I think we both would prefer to live a little longer. before we continue our fight."
>>
I have no idea what this quest is about, but is the name "Jake Crocker" a reference to what I think it is?
>>
>>25035393
probably?
>>
>>25035293
It's still capable of fighting, it's just much more slower. And I'd rather have an additional suit nearby when we carry Rysis out.
We should probably head through the command center towards the hangar - the path Hogan and his men have supposedly cleared.

The only Vavan MS around is the giant ass one you stabbed through and destroyed. It's currently splayed out on the reactor getting more and more frozen by the rapidly leaking coolant.

You have dad ditch the J-Exes which is just dead weight at this point and climb into your suit, all the while cursing how fucking stupid the reactor is designed. However for all you know it could be the old Federation one.

You run over and grab the Raven by it's head, dragging it over to the door as you begin to hack and slash through the blast door, slowly cutting through it.

"What the hell are you doing?" Rysis growls, thrashing her the Raven, the nets and the goo totally immobilizing her suit.

"You fight for no reason, I help others for no reason." You say kicking open a hole in the blast door after cutting a large circular hole in it.

You fix the Excalibuster to your back and blitz down the hall at top speed, 5 minutes on the clock.

"Dorthy? The reactor is going critical! Can everyone get out?" You ask, making a sharp turn, the Raven smacking against the wall as you do so. Your going the way you came from before to save time.

"Yes, Flit just assisted Captain Blackmarsh and Hogan, they're on their way out. All of are forces are pulling out already, the Vagan seem to be making a tactical retreat as well although most are still pretty focused on killing us"

You arrive at the Armstrong, 3 minutes to go and see Tim's abandon Shaldoll, radome crushed, cannon melted and legs severed, thankfully the cockpit is open and he is probably inside. Vagan suits litter the floor and large burn marks, a few holes and nasty gashes litter the Armstrong and Diva's hulls.

Flying into the hanger you see that most of the Armstrong's suits are totally trashed. missing climbs or missing all together.

"Dorthy, did we lose anyone? What's the status on Flit?"

(No, his name isn't a reference to Homestuck. If it's anything similar then it's purely coincidental)

>>25035448
"Everyone's fine, a bit bruised up by OK. Flit's on his way, but he's moving pretty slowly". Dorthy warns.

After sticking Rysis's gooed up suit to the wall you think on what to do.

There is two minutes left on the clock, Flit is moving slowly and is probably carrying Blackmarsh and his men. If you leave now you'll barely have enough time to reach him and get back. The Armstrong is already heading out of dock to put as much distance between them an Ambat.

What will you do Jake?
>>
>>25035511
Help Frittos
>>
>>25035511
Tell the shipboard ones to clear out and go help Flit and Blackmarsh.
>>
>>25035511
Help Flit, goddammit.
>>
>>25035511
Go help Flit. Tell the Armstrong to provide covering fire while we all evacuate.
>>
>>25035511
For explanation to those who care, Homestuck has a pair of characters named Jake English and Jane Crocker who happen to be friends. It seemed like too much of a coincidence to me, but okay.
>>
>>25035511
Get out there and help him. No one get's left behind.
>>
>>25035647
Someone suggested the name after we realized the name Eric Heartman is used too often in /tg/ quests.

See that the ship is leaving and your suit is in the best condition out of all of them, you take off and head back into Ambat at top speed. "I'm going to get Flit! You guys get as far away from here as possible."

You fly back into the heart of Ambat, following Flit's IFF signal until you find him. The Gundam AGE is in it's Badlan gear, it' right leg is gone, it's left arm has apparently been pulled off and it's head and thrusters have apparently been flattened. The AGE-1 is carrying Blackmarsh's shuttle, pushing itself along with it's two remaining bits.

"Flit? Are you alright?" You ask, grabing hold of the AGE-1 and beginning to push it towards the exit.

"Jake? Ugh, yeah I'm OK" You hear the sound of ducktape on his end as he patche's something up. "There were four of those big suits attacking Blackmarsh and his group. I managed to destroy them, but they wrecked Gundam and most of my bits"

"Well it's time to leave Flit, apparently I stabbed the reactor and things are going to blow sky high in about...90 seconds" You increase the thruster output and fly down the hall, pushing your max speed as the seconds slip by.

"Wait, WHAT? Who made a reactor that exposed, how did you..." Flit seems to be as awestruck at the stupidity of such a possible design as you are.

"We can bitch about this when we make it back home!" You watch as 30 seconds hit the clock, glad that Dorthy already sent the data to Dr. Spriggan's.

You move as fast as you can, but time trickles away and things seem bleaker and bleaker.

"Jake I don't think we're going to make it" Flit murmurs.

"YES WE FUCKING WILL! BECAUSE I'M JAKE MOTHER FUCKING CROCKER!" You push the Chimera's light propulsion thrusters to the max as you blaze through the maze of hallways, your entire mobile suit shaking under the strain as alarms and warnings of overheating pop up around your panoramic cockpit. (Cont)

Eventually you see the light of the hanger and the Armstrong in the distance, Ambat is already falling apart around you, plasma fuel and Vagan ammo dumps causing large secondary explosions that nearly throw you into the walls of the hallway.

You let out a power shout as you drag the AGE-1 and Blackmarsh's shuttle out of the hanger at top speed, streaming at the top of your lungs. Moments later the hanger behind you explodes in a violent blast, all of Ambat beginning to crumble and collapse.

By the time you make it back to the Armstrong Ambat has already broken to pieces and is beginning to drift apart from one another.

You drop Flit and Blackmarsh off in the hanger of the Armstrong, getting out of your suit with your Dad, triumphant in your victory and the knowledge that...wait a minute.

"OH SON OF A BITCH I LEFT THE KING ARTHUR IN PARK!" You yell out suddenly, realizing your Mobile Armor is probably drifting in space or was burned to a crisp in the explosion.

Flit get out of the AGE-1, his helmet wrapped in ducktape and watches as you throw a god damn hissy fit at the loss of your very nice mobile armor, Flit beginning to laugh in amusement.

After a couple minutes to calm down you and the rest of the conscious pilots called to the bridge where Grodek is on the screen.

"I know some of you may not forgive me for what I've done over the past few weeks or what I may think but...thank you. If it weren't for you, none of this would have been possible" Grodek takes a small bow to everyone.

"Now you'll come with us like we agreed?" Captain Frizzle asks.

"Of course. I'll take the blame for everything." Captain Grodek says reassuringly.

"So do we take him to Big Ring or have him picked up at Minsry? We're carrying all those Vagan scientists and doctors..." Dorthy ponders.

What do you think you should do Jake?
>>
>>25036306
We drop everyone off at Minsry. The Feds have waited so far, let them wait a little more.
>>
>>25036306
Minsry I suppose, though I have half a mind to just tell the Feddies to fuck off and choke on a massive bag of horsecock.
>>
>>25036306
Yeah, Minsry sounds good. We should give the prisoners to CDACE to hold for us. Maybe even bury CDACE back under the mountain, if it's a viable tactic. I'm not sure we want the Federation to know we have ANOTHER pre-Silver Chalice machine imprinted on us. Then we call up the Federation and get them to pick up Grodek.
>>
>>25036391

Maybe we could set up a private lab in CDACE's hanger... somewhere for us to go do MS-y things...
>>
>>25036391
Yeah, we can possibly bury CD and tell him to reactivate in case of an eventual attack.
We should also inform Yurin and her father to take care of the big guy for us, in case something happens.

While we're at Minsry, we should repair the ships, resupply, and probably discuss our next move concerning the prisoners.
We could drop them off at Fardain - they'd be safe there, under our observation, and the Feds can't bitch on us for hiding them considering how Fardain is still a Federation colony.
That way, we both keep the prisoners, get the Feds off our back and keep Desil as far away from them as possible.
>>
>>25036448
Yeah. We'll want to wait a few days to do as much repair work as we can, anyway. Plus, like hell we're not going to be there for Mellis' surgery. We're going to be the first thing she sees when she wakes up, and then we are taking her to meet our Diva friends once she can safely be around X-Rounders. It will be heartwarming and a great way for Jake to deal with the horrors of war.

Speaking of which, what are we going to do with Rysis / the Black Raven (do we know her name in-character, yet)? She's stuck in her suit for now, but we can't leave her there. But I'm not sure I want to actually let her out to move her, though. She is a combat cyborg, after all. Maybe cut her cockpit out of her machine entirely, then place it in a cell and blow the hatch with breaching explosives?
>>
>>25036520
We take her in as a prisoner, as we did with Zeek. I guess a solitary cell and constant watch, plus restraints are in order.
I kinda doubt that she'll go berserk on us once we cut her out, but still, better be careful around psycho cyborg chicks.
>>
>>25036520
Shit, what ARE we gonna do with Rysis? She's a cyborg, so she can likely crush normal people like soda cans. Can't leave her in her MS, either. Never know when she might manage to free herself or self-destruct.
>>
>>25036580
Maybe Ma G can talk with her?
>>
>>25036580
Its worth a try, we can't really let her stay in the cockpit, can we?
>>
>>25036580
That's why I suggested cutting her out. I didn't mean with power tools. I meant with a mobile suit. We take the Spallow's knife and carefully cut her cockpit out so she can't blow her reactor. Then we grab the cockpit so as to keep the hatch closed, and carry it right into a cell.
>>
>>25036580
I doubt it. Is she insane? Yes. Dangerous? Fuck yes. But suicidal? Nope.

She's possibly going to join us if we offer her something to fight. Or something to fight for.
Right now, I guess she just wants to see what happens next.
>>
>>25036580
I wonder if her cybernetics are in any way a life support for her.
If not, we could just shut them down if she gets too erratic.
>>
>>25036686
We could always pull a Lord Genome and just keep the head.
>>
>>25036710
I doubt that we have the tech for something like that.
I mean, we don't even have holograms at this moment, and cybernetic tech has been long lost due to that Silver Chalice treaty.
If we cut into her, she dies. Better to keep her as a prisoner and possible ally than risk it.
>>
>>25036351
>>25036381
"Let them pick him up at Minsry. I don't care if stopping at Big Ring gets us brownie points, those assholes can wait" You state firmly.

"Minsry it is. Besides I'm sure some of us have a lot of unfinished business. Set a course for Minsry, full speed" Captain Frizzle orders.

>>25036417
>>25036391
>>25036448
You remember CDACE and the ancient abandon bunker there on Minsry. You could easily transfer the prisoners to CDACE and store him in the bunker before the Feds arrive. Your sure Yurin's father would be perfectly fine with keeping him maintained and safe, after all he was designed to protect the colony after all.

Desil should be safe with Yurin and Birmings, he basically been adopted anyway so the Federation shouldn't be all that keen on finding him (especially since you've made sure to erase every mention of him from record).

>>25036520
Mellis is your utmost concern, you want to be there when she wakes up. You haven't heard anything from Dr. Spiriggans yet, but all you can do is pray at this point.

>>25036547
>>25036580
>>25036622
>>25036630
>>25036636
>>25036669
>>25036686
>>25036710

At the moment your strongest immediate concern is Rysis. You have an idea she's a cyborg from what she hinted at and from what you've gathered. However you have no idea where your going to keep her. She's obviously gunning to kill you and everyone you love and she, if your many movies, anime and video games have taught you anything about cyborgs, could probably punch out of a cell without any problem.

You could:
-Try Reasoning with her, or have Ma-G speak with her.
-Cut out her cockpit and place it in a cell of your own design
-Kill her and stop her from doing any future harm
-Try to examine her using Ma G to see if her implants can't be disabled
-or something else entirely.

So how are you going to deal with Rysis Jake? Any ideas?
>>
>>25036825
Try to reason with her. MaG should probably keep her monitored and examine her, simply in case she decides to jump at us.
>>
>>25036825
Cutting her out would not be my first choice, I'd rather keep the Black Raven intact for reverse engineering.

At all times in this keep things ready and able to disable the Black Raven and turn it into Swiss Cheese, just in case things go wrong, and have a complement of armed guards around so make sure that if she does get out of the Black Raven that she politely makes her way to a containment place that is rated for a fucking tank.

Then talk to her, open comms, tell her that she lost and if she surrenders we'll be polite about things.
>>
>>25036825
Suggest the cold sleep pod and wake her up in 6 years?
>>
>>25036825
>Try to examine her using Ma G to see if her implants can't be disabled
>>
>>25036825
No reason we can't take multiple approaches to this. First, let's move the Black Raven to being stuck on the outside of the hull, not the inside. Cut off the limbs, stick it to hull, and plant explosives to detonate if the hatch opens from the inside. She might be able to suicide herself, but she's not getting out of high explosives and hard vacuum. Make sure she's aware of her situation.

Then we get to work on building a specialized cage for her. Use the AGE Builder to make something out of scrap armor plating from the remains of our mobile suits, something that can take a punch from even the strongest of human-sized machines. While we're at this, have Ma G analyze her to the extent she can without giving Rysis a chance for countermeasures and reverse hacking.

When the cell is done, cut her cockpit out, place it in the cell, seal it, then blow the hatches to her cockpit. Make sure the cell has its own life-support systems, so we can leave it attached to the hull and blow the atmosphere if she becomes a threat.

Then we talk. Let's see what we can get out of her, in a calmer environment.
>>
>>25036825
I'd like to have Ma G hold a conversation with her since she might be able to talk on a common ground..
>>
>>25036968
She's still human, just augmented with ancient tech, not a machine. MaG should focus on examining her and her implants, while we talk with her.
We could bring MID to our talks with her, he might even know her, although I doubt it.

>>25036956
I'd rather have the Raven intact for reverse engineering, but yeah, we should be prepared for anything when dealing with crazies.
>>
>>25037078
It'll be mostly intact. A few control and power lines will be severed, but if we're careful we should still be able to analyze its technology just fine.
>>
>>25037078
I was talking about their experiences, not their physical composition.
>>
>>25036890
>>25036913
>>25036968
>>25037078

You decide to have Ma G reason with Rysis while at the same time examining her for a better idea of how her implants work. In the mean time you stick her to the outside of the hull and plant some plastic explosives around her cockpit. If she does anything funny, you'll space her.

>>25036956
>>25036913
>>25036911
Leaving Ma G to her diplomacy you begin work on making a cell for her and check up on everyone. Ralphie and Arnold are exhausted but fine. Carlos got a nasty concussion but is relatively OK and Tim has a few broken ribs from getting curb stopped by one of the Big Legs, but he'll live.

Blackmarsh and Hogan have returned to what's left of their ships and Ract is alive and well aboard the Zalam/Euba ships.

T. Touchdown has been removed from his cold sleep pod, but is still unconcious. He should wake up after 48 hours, some nutrients pumped into his blood stream and a hot bath. The Cold Sleep pod is open for anyone who wants to use it...

You work on making a "Cybrog Cell" for Rysis until Ma G contacts you.

"Rysis is severely mentally unstable. Several trama's, a long and abrupt de-thawing from cyrostasis and a combat enhancement effect from her implants blind her to any peaceful solution." Ma G informs you.

"Can her implants be disabled?" You ask.

"Full shutdown would bring her vital systems to a halt, however it would be possible to implant a limiter program to temporarily dampen her non-essential implants. However it would only last a few days before she could adapt to it and override it."

What will you do Jake?
>>
>>25037260
We talk to her. We've done the impossible before, we'll do it again now.
Have MaG create that limiter program just in case.
>>
>>25037260
I say go for it. If we can make her a bit more stable it'll help negotiations. If we're lucky, we can convince her not to turn them back on. If we're not, well, we have the cage. It won't hurt, at least.
>>
>>25037078

Nothing wrong with taking the Raven apart if you know how to put it back together. Hell, Flit was able to do that with the Crusader Gundam.
>>
>>25037306
Speaking of the Gundam and Flit, we should eventually share all the combat data our troops gathered with the AGE builder and make something new.
We need every advantage we can get, considering how probably the Vagans got their hands on the Arthur and how they have most likely analyzed and reverse engineered parts from the Raven before us.
>>
>>25037260
Let's have Ma G work on the Limiter program, just in case we need it, and have a talk with her, see if we can do this politely.
>>
>>25037260
Again, I suggest we put her under Cold Sleep and let her and melis play tug of war when the time comes to wake her up.
>>
>>25037343
What we need to do is convince Flit to proliferate the AGE Builder technology. Yes, it's a bit of a risk, but if we could make the rapid design and manufacturing tech widespread we'd more than make up for the Vagan technological advantage.
>>
>>25037368
Putting her in cold sleep after she's been in it for 100 years? Dude. No.
>>
>>25037260
May as well put her in the tube until we have a better solution.
>>
>>25037393
Agreed. Not the full thing, but something that could allow our pilots to be prepared for everything the Vagans throw at us.
And it would allow our ships to use Photon cannons as well.

We could also create minor AIs, that'd help our pilots in the coming conflict. Each suit equipped with its own mini-MaG.

On a side note, I'm a bit worried about the fact that Rysis went to the Vagans and that they probably took a look under her hood.
Gen-2 is probably going to be us against X-Rounder cyborgs.
>>
>>25037305
Let's shut down her non-essential implants, then talk to her. Maybe, given some time, Jake can help Rysis calm down and help her deal with her trauma. I'd rather have Rysis as a semi-stable friend than a fully crazy enemy or a dead former rival.

>>25037368
OT3 is the way to go! Melis/Jake/Rysis and Emily/Flit/Yurin. Think of the envy (and pity)!
>>
>>25037302
>>25037305

You decide to have Ma G work on the Limiter program. It'll take 36 hours. In the mean time you decide to try talking with her. If worst comes to worse you can stick her in the cold sleep pod, but you won't do that unless you have too you'll just stick her in that cell you made.

What do you want to say to Rysis? How do you want to try and convince her to you know, not hunt you down and kill everyone you love?
>>
>>25037539
"Hey, sorry about all this. I'm sure you understand - I don't want you to hurt anybody or somebody to hurt you."
"How are you holding up?"
>>
>>25037539
We could start by asking her why she resents the fact that we remind her of Arthur.
>>
>>25037539
"Hello there Rysis, you seem to have picked the wrong team considering they lost. Fortunately for you we're much nicer than you or the Vagan are.

Rysis, would you mind telling me about Arthur? I'm flying his Gundam, and I've learned some about him, but I get the feeling you know him better than anyone else."
>>
>>25037625
>>25037664
I don't think reminding her of Arthur right now is the safe way. She's already psychotic, no reason to push her buttons.
Better make her see we're going to take care of her and treat her well, and let her tell us about him when she feels like it.
>>
>>25037539
She can kill Jake once he's at the top of his game, but if she kills him right now she'll just be depriving herself of a fight.
>>
>>25037539
"Are you sure you've been thinking straight? You had superior numbers, technology and skill and still couldn't kill me. I'm good, but not THAT good. You're right; I'm just some stupid kid. You're the Black Raven. Something isn't right here. Did you ever consider that something went wrong during your cryosleep? The systems weren't designed to suspend a person for that long. Ma G scanned you and she found evidence of brain trauma. Between your pre-stasis injuries and the stress from dethawing, you've received considerable damage. Damage that your implants have prevented from healing, because you've been in a constant ready state since you awoke. Isn't it possible that what I did isn't so horrible as to deserve murdering me and everyone I know? I never knew you as you were in the war, but doesn't this all seem like it's below you?"
>>
>>25037793
Seconding this. Let's try to get Rysis to mentally step back and look at her recent actions. She may not be able to pinpoint the problem, but she should notice that it's there.
>>
>>25037832
Yeah.
No need to mention Arthur or anything, just show that we care for her, that we genuinely want to help her and that she should probably examine her actions.
>>
>>25037793
>>25037832
>You've received considerable damage. Damage that your implants have prevented from healing, because you've been in a constant ready state since you awoke. Isn't it possible that what I did isn't so horrible as to deserve murdering me and everyone I know? I never knew you as you were in the war, but doesn't this all seem like it's below you?"

Rysis seems to think on this. "Maybe I did receive some damage. So what? I'm not thinking totally straight, but I know for a fact I don't like you. I can't really place why now that I think about it...but I could use a break. I know I can bust out of any chicken shit prison I get sent too, since you probably won't kill me, a chance to heal up and relax could do a girl like me a favor"

Your responce Jake?
>>
>>25038009
>you probably won't kill me
She's giving us far too much credit.

May as well let her relax, but make sure it's in a place that we can monitor her.
>>
>>25038009
"Yes. You're right. I'm not going to kill you, so long as you don't try to escape. So why not disable your augments for now? Like I said, they're preventing you from healing properly. If you want to kill me, you should be at the top of your form first. I'm sure you could do it anyway, but wouldn't it be more satisfying to know there was nothing holding you back? Just rest for now. I'll contact you when we're ready to move you."
>>
>>25038009
"Perhaps we can help each other out, then. I have a habit of disregarding the ban on Pre-Silver Chalice tech, and it's a habit I intend to keep at. We can help you relax, recuperate, recover, and MAYBE let you go free if you don't go totally batshit in the meantime, and in exchange you can let me in on how that lovely MS of yours works, and how I can replicate those nanoscale plasma generators."
>>
>>25038009
"I think everyone here needs a chance to heal up and relax. It's been a long week.

And you're not entirely right, I have killed before, I don't particularly like it, but if I have to choose between you killing people dear to me or you not surviving I'll choose the latter.

But for now, you should probably turn off some of your implants so you can heal up properly, you don't need combat drugs and other such enhancements running through your system. Later if you find out why you hate me and still want to kill me we can go back to our old song and dance routine, but not right now.

Say, just wondering since the Black Raven is a bit of a technological marvel, would you happen to know how the feathers on your wings were made? Because that nano-scale plasma integration is really remarkable. I mean seriously, I'm curious as fuck."
>>
>>25038009
"So how about this? My AI buddy has designed a limiter program for your implants to turn off your 'war mode', so to speak. If you want, we have a working cryopod you can use if you wish to sleep it off and wait for me to be...ripe for picking, I guess you would say? Of course, by that time you'll probably have to fight my girlfriend tooth and nail to claim me..."
>>
>>25038009
"Listen, Rysis. I don't want to hurt you nor do I want you to hurt me. Why you don't like me, I don't give a fuck, I've got bigger problems to take care of right now. But I do want to help you."
"So, let me make you a deal. If you promise to come quietly and not start any shit, you can relax, heal up, eat some pancakes and watch some TV or whatever. How does that sound?"
>>
>>25038116
>"Yes. You're right. I'm not going to kill you, so long as you don't try to escape. So why not disable your augments for now? Like I said, they're preventing you from healing properly. "Hmmmm, how do I know this isn't some kind of trick?" She asks in a mistrusting tone.

>>25038213
>>25038184
>"Listen, Rysis. I don't want to hurt you nor do I want you to hurt me. Why you don't like me, I don't give a fuck, I've got bigger problems to take care of right now. But I do want to help you."So, let me make you a deal. If you promise to come quietly and not start any shit, you can relax, heal up, eat some pancakes and watch some TV or whatever. How does that sound?"

"Or you can go to sleep in a cryopod for a couple of years until I'm 'Ripe' for the picking and you won't feel all bent out of shape for being sexually attracted to me"

"I don't really age all that much thanks to my implants. Even without cryosleep I can retain my beauty for a long time. The more I think about it, the more appealing a 'vacation' sounds to me right now. I guarantee I will come back to kill you, just not now. Maybe a few years from now, but not anytime soon. Also, don't expect me to help you with any tech stuff. Your on your own in that department." Rysis says with a yawn.

Well Jake, does this seem alright too you?
>>
>>25038590
"Vacation it is. Disable your implants, and I'll let you aboard to relax, heal and grab something to eat. Deal?"
>>
>>25038590
Sounds fine to me.
>>
>>25038590
Alright with me. Maybe when Rysis comes back she'll be calmer and less homicidal. I just hope noone in the hangar mentions the UST between Jake and Rysis. We just calmed her down. No need to get her homicidal again. Don't forget to raid her MS while she's resting!
>>
>>25038590

sounds good...
Maybe mention about the Museum Curator who might be interested in her experience in the colony wars...
>>
>>25038590
"Vacation it is, maybe you can consider why you actually want to kill me while you do that. Come back in 5 years and you can bicker with my girlfriend over who gets me. I'll be sitting nearby watching with popcorn.

And really, if we wanted to hurt you we could have done it by now. You've got no real reason not to trust us."
>>
>>25038590
"That's fine by me, Rysis. You can kill me all you want, just let me clear my schedule first. You want to move to your new 'room' now, or you going to nap for a bit?"
>>
>>25038676
>>25038870
"That's fine by me, Rysis. You can kill me all you want, just let me clear my schedule first. You want to move to your new 'room' now, or you going to nap for a bit?"

"I'd like to be taken to my room, thank you very much" Rysis says as you have her mobile suit unstuck and brought inside.

You made Rysis's prison cell to be spacious, strong, easily monitored while seeming private and portable since you'll probably have to move her off the ship once the Federation arrived.

Opening her cockpit, you grab Rysis with your Gundam's hand and gently place her inside the custom made cell. This is the first time you've seen Rysis but you can easily say she's very hot. 5,11 with long blond hair, an athletic figure and great...tracks of land. There are large bags under he eyes and she obviously looks crazed/tired as she crawls over to the bed you placed in the cell and promptly falls asleep.

Well that went over fairly well. You doubt she'll come over to your side, but at least you won't have to worry about her for a few years, even if she does escape.

You have a few hours till you arrive at Minsry and the Black Raven is now yours to look over. What will you do Jake?
>>
>>25039392
Get out of Gundam, give it a hug, give it a long ass fucking hug. Thank it for being so damn awesome.

Send someone to get us massive piles of pancakes while we look over the Black Raven.
>>
>>25039392
Look over the Raven. See what MaG and the engineers can get out of it. Go get some food. Jake's been working his ass off.
>>
>>25039392
Call mom to tell her we're okay, and call Dr Spriggan to check on the operation.
We could relax as well. Probably while checking out that badass suit.
>>
>>25039392
Could we get a description of visible cybernetics, or are they well disguised?

Get the Raven's combat data and look it over for anything interesting.
>>
>>25039433
Seconding this.
>>
>>25039433
>>25039459
These sound good to me
>>
>>25039433
You give the Gundam a long ass hug and thank it for saving your ass. You call the cooks in the mess hall and order a couple dozen chocolate chip pancakes and warm syrup for when you get there.
>>25039438
You ask Ma G and Liz to look over the Raven while all the other engineers get to work on the massive amounts of repairs all the suits and the ship needs.
>>25039473
All of the cybernetics are internal, or very, very, very well hidden.
>>25039459
You call up Mom and tell her you and Dad are OK. She immediately bursts out into tears of joy and demands you come home as soon as possible. You explain you still have some crap to take care of, but you'll be home eventally.

You give Dr. Spriggans a call, but don't get a reply. You recall several times but he doesn't answer. That ether means he's in surgery or just got finished with surgery and is sleeping it all off.

You head to the mess hall and begin to dig into your pancakes, thinking on what you should do next.

Well Jake? Any ideas? Minsry is only a couple more hours away.
>>
>>25039951
Let's go check in on Flit, I think an epic bro-fist/bro-hug is in order at this moment.

We won, I think it's about time for that to sink in.
>>
>>25039951
lets use all the combat data we have to start on the King Arthur Mk2, lets give pincer claws with anti-ship beam sabers.
>>
>>25039951

Let's go see the rest of the pilots and crew. Especially Flit.

For all who fought by our side is now our brother.
>>
>>25039951
Start looking through the take from Ambat's computers. Might be new tech, might be intel to pass on to the captain.

Jake needs a new railgun too, since the Ballista was trashed at Ambat. Maybe instead of the Ballista, we should make a bullpup rifle design. Integrate the grenade launcher into the rifle frame since it's been so damn useful. Build extendable rails into the rifle for greater shot velocity. The extended rails could give the rifle the punch it needs to get through heavy MA armor.
>>
When would be a good time to take down the Federation?
>>
>>25039951
Feed the AGE builder all the combat data - from us, the pirates, the Armstrong crew, the Diva crew - everyone. Especially from the Black Raven.
When MaG finishes with that analysis of the Raven, let her comb through the data from Ambat.

While this thing works automatically, check out how the other pilots are and what the hell happened out there. It's time to exchange war stories.
>>
>>25040022
Flit moved back over to the Diva, the last time you saw him was when he was laughing at you for throwing a fit over losing the Arthur. You call him up on your cell and he's just glad to be done and over with everything.

"I'm tired, I'm going to catch some sleep. Let's talk back on Minsry when you get the chance, OK?"

>>25040080
>>25040118

You check around on the other pilot. Carlos and Tim are in the infirmary, Carlos took a nasty concussion but is back in talking and punning order.

Tim has a few cracked ribs and is currently loopy on pain killers, he'll probably be out of commission for a couple of months.

"Hey, maybe you might get a medal!" you say, playfully punching him in the side, completely forgetting about his broken ribs.

He lets out a shout and glares at you before sighing. "If I can survive that long, do you KNOW what it's like to sleep next to Carlos? He talks in his sleep. PUNS. PUNS IN HIS SLEEP"

"So what happened to you two anyway?"

"Well I was defending the ship while in port with Carlos. The enemy kept funneling down the hall, so they were pretty easy to defend against. I handled them at long range and let Carlos carve up anyone who got too close. Arnold and Ralphie were defending the exit of the hanger from the forces still outside. Everything went pretty smoothly outside of a few unlucky shots and taking a couple pot shots. Then, this MASSIVE Mobile suit starts walking down the hall towards me. It soaks up everything we throw at it, the Armstrong's rear beam cannons couldn't get through it's armor. The thing was on top of me before I knew it, if it wasn't for Carlos stabbing the damn thing in the back, I would have been dead" Tim explains.

"Those Long Legs have powerful long range defense, but limited melee defense. I guess you could say it couldn't defend against melee attacks to save it's life! Get it?" You roll your eyes at Carlos, used to the horrific puns by now.

(cont)
>>
>>25040703
You check up on Ralphie and Arnold and heat what happened to them.
"Mostly just smashing mooks up until they start bringing out Colony Buster Missiles" Ralphie explains.

"Colony Busters?" You ask.

"HUGE Missiles they use to damage colonies. That's how they fucked up Nora so badly. They started firing them at the ships, so me and Arnold have to start shooting them down and killing the guys before they could launch them" Ralphie says, stretching his arms to give you an idea of how big the missile were.

"They shot down two pirate ships and one of the Zalam ships, but it could have been a lot worse if we hadn't been there." Arnold says, holding an ice pack to his head.

"Those fuckers should have stayed home today shouldn't they?" You ask Arnold with a laugh. "Seriously, good fucking job guys."

>>25040095
Yeah, about the data. See, Black Marsh and Hogan got ambushed and the Data-Miner got shot to shit. They thought it was still running, when it was completely dead. You have a little bit of data, nothing substantial just some more vague X-Rounder data, this plus all the drives you got off the shuttle should allow you to develop something, but it's nowhere near the amount of data you were hoping for.

What do you want to do now Jake? You have 2 hours before you arrive in Minsry.
>>
>>25040703
"Carlos, that wasn't even a pun. Step up your game, man. I expect a better quality of terrible word play from you."
>>
>>25040833
Go and examine the Black Raven more thoroughly.
>>
>>25040833
Fuck, so much data we didn't get. Damn it Hogan, I expected better from you. Won't even be able to replicate their armor properly.

At least tell me we managed to loot some of the wreckage of the stuff we blew up.

Start swearing like a sailor and tromp off to look more at the Black Raven personally.
>>
>>25040833
The important thing was that we got the data Mellis needed. Anything else is just a bonus.

For now I'm entirely up for just sleeping it off until we get to Minsry. We've had a very dramatic day, and we still have work left to do. Let's nap.
>>
>>25040849
This.

After that, we should check out the Black Raven more thoroughly.
Since we can't replicate Vagan armor, might as well replicate the Raven's armor and thrusters.
>>
>>25040833
Nothing from the miner? Shit! Hope Jake at least gets some better reactor, armor, and thruster tech off the Raven. Most of the weapon development Jake can do himself (if the Dice Gods will it!) but armor, reactors, and thrusters we really need pre-war data for.
>>
>>25040945
What I like from the Raven is the ridiculously high thruster output. It's got ten times the acceleration we do. Even if the Raven is very lightweight, that's still probably enough thrust that we could double, even triple the Crusader's mass and see no decrease in speed. Place them as verniers throughout the frame to increase turning speed, and we could have a ridiculously huge Gundam for the next generation with no mobility loss. I want full-on Super Robot scale. We will be victory.
>>
>>25041002
I'm just hoping for more power output for the reactors and thrusters, though lighter and tougher armor is always a plus. If we get better reactors, we can start developing the more exotic weapons of UC and AGE. Some VSBRs or beam shields would come in handy next generation. Jake needs to work towards E-CAP tech as well.
>>
>>25041091
I just want the combination tech. One day we'll combine with a battleship.
>>
>>25040849
>"Carlos, that wasn't even a pun. Step up your game, man. I expect a better quality of terrible word play from you."

"I just got a concussion. Give a punster a break" Carlos says in his defense.

>>25040918
>>25040887
>>25040884
You look over the Raven with Liz and Ma G. Immediately you discover the Raven is a performance machine. It has a significantly limited array of weapons that it makes up for with sheer unadulterated speed and maneuverability. It's transformation function gives you a ton of data in that regard. It's thrusters, verniers, the set up of the suit's structure and it's miniaturized reactors give you a tremendous amount of data in that regard. You send the transformation data to Flit who said he was interested in the concept of a transformable mobile suit.

You get more of the fuel-cell plating from the wings and your pretty sure you'll be able to replicate this material once you make the proper machinery.

There is also an interesting neural net set up. Since Rysis is a cyborg she can patch herself directly into the suit, giving her a tremendous performance boost. That explains the unusual cabling you found in the Raven's severed arm.

Your getting pretty sleepy. Any specific examinations you want to make before taking a nap?
>>
>>25041104
Well, the AGE-1 is the first step to that. By the AGE-3 it's full-on core block system, so with our and Flit's heavy weapon pack work we could probably bootstrap our way up the tech tree a bit faster.
>>
>>25041128
Look at the thrusters and verniers primarily, see if they could be scaled to a less complex point that would make it suitable for mass production at a slightly decreased performance, as well as evaluation if it would be possible to integrate it into things like the solid cowl.
>>
>>25041128
Examine the Neural Net more thoroughly. This may be what will allow normal people to use more advanced weapons.
>>
>>25041128
Any data on how the Vagan technicians repaired it after we took out the arm and wing the first time? It didn't seem to have replaced the second mega beam rifle, so they couldn't have just replicated all the parts of the original.
>>
>>25041128
Examine those thrusters and verniers first. If we manage to replicate them for our Gen-2 Gundam, we'll be fucking unstoppable.
On a side note, if we manage to replicate that Neural Net, we can pretty much turn ourselves into Fleet Command from Homeworld.
>>
>>25041128
How's the armor compare to the Crusader? If its better, can Jake replicate it? Get a better look at the thrusters, AMBAC thrusters, and verniers. God, I wanna look at everything!
>>
>>25041190
They could be. It's take time and proper research to do so, but you could probably make a mass production version of the Raven's thrusters with proper time and research in about a year. You could pump out copies of the Raven's thrusters and vierners but they are pretty complex. Very effective, good on fuel consumption with a ridiculous power output, but still pretty hard to work with from what you can tell. Making a simplified mass production version would take time and effort.
>>25041193
The Neural Net is useless to a regular person. Rysis obviously has enough implants in her brain to make taping into her mobile suit a breeze. Still, if there are any future cyborgs they could definitely use this system. For regular people, it's pretty useless due to the need for a physical connection between the brain and the network.
>>25041253
Really the suit isn't all that impressive in terms of armor. Just a simple ablative Titanium/Ceramic blend, weak to physical weapons but able to stop beam weaponry dead in their tracks. Overall, your standard reinforced Titanium with Anti-Heat gel under the plates works better.

Any last things before your nap? Not much left to do.
>>
>>25041447
Thank Ma G for everything and then sleep.
>>
>>25041447
Have the AGE Builder go over all the combat data from our forces.
Maybe it can create something ridiculously strong based on that data and the Raven.

Also, thank MaG for being there for us. If it wasn't for her, we'd be toast.
>>
>>25041447
Nothing right now. Need to make a new railgun and work on a new DODS Rifle design when Jake has the time. Both could use some significant improvement.
>>
>>25041525
You hit the hay with the idea of making a new DODS Rifle and Railgun design when you get the chance.

You wake up after a pleasant nap and find that the Armstrong is in dock and the Federation will be arriving in 12 hours. The Pirate have already left for the Graveyard and the remaining Zalam/Euba ships are returning to Fairdain, leaving only the Armstrong and the Diva in dock at Minsry.

You have Rysis, The Vagan Prisoners, CDACE as well as the Raven to deal with. However you should really go and visit Mellis to see if she's alive and well.

What do you want to do Jake?
>>
>>25041686
Get CDACE to pick up the Vagan Prisoners and dock back in its hangar, then move Rysis's cell to the hangar as well. Leave the work of concealing the hangar again to the other people we've authorized to command CDACE.

Then we fly over to the Spriggan Institute (or whatever its name is. I don't think it's ever actually come up) and check on Mellis. We should aim to return from the lab about two hours before the Federation arrives, at a minimum. We want some time to check over everything and make sure our affairs are in order before we have to start lying.
>>
>>25041686
Arrange for the Vagan prisoners, CDACE, the Raven, and Rysis to be moved into hiding. Frankly, we don't want the Feddies near any of them. Then go visit Melis. New weapons can wait for a bit. That, and until Jake knows how well Melis will recover, he can't do any major upgrades to her Farsia. Be kind of stupid to put 26 funnels on it if Melis can only handle 6 after the surgery.
>>
>>25041686
Go and see Mellis if she's alive and well. The others can deal with the rest.

>>25041817
Agreed. We need to hide our future assets from the Feds. Who knows what they'd do to them.

Speaking of Rysis, we could possibly get her to chat with that historian fellow that gave us the Gundam.
Or if that's not an option, we go over there to chat with her. Might as well get acquainted with her properly.
>>
>>25041890
>Speaking of Rysis, we could possibly get her to chat with that historian fellow that gave us the Gundam.

We still need Travis to scream in terror when he comes out of cryo,
>>
>>25041956
Yes. Bonus points if the first thing he sees is the Black Raven standing over him.
Speaking of Travis, is he going to fight in a suit with an enormous beam katana?
>>
>>25041817
>>25041780
You talk with Captain Frizzle and have her and the security team move the Vagan prisoners aboard CDACE and move him, the Raven and Rysis back to the Mountain Bunker. It's pretty well concealed already, but they'll make any additional camouflage they can. You also have the Gafran, Zedas and Farsia moved their as well as the Federation would be keen on taking such suits for examination.

>>25041890
Rysis isn't really in a talking mood. But you can probably bring it up later.

>>25041956
Travis is still unconscious, but he should wake up in another day or so.

You head off to the Federation X-Rounder research institute, taking a Space Launch shuttle instead of your Gundam due to it being repaired at the moment. You land and move into the colony, sprinting into the lab, hoping over the reception desk and running into Mellis's room.

You see her, sleeping peacefully in her bed with bandages wrapped around her head. A wave of relief washes over you as you sit down in the chair beside her bed, overwhelmed by the fact she is safe and alive.

What would you like to do Jake?
>>
>>25042087
Gently hold one of her hands and tell her that we're back.
>>
>>25042053
It will actually be several beam katanas, joined at the hilt into one massive spinning club of doom. Because the Tsubaki Mk. 2 was always the coolest of the swords.
>>
>>25042108
This. Also, sit there until she wakes up.
>>
>>25042125
Each one of those blades is an Excalibuster as well.
So it's both a laser beam katana club and a giant cannon. That spins.
>>
>>25042087
Let her sleep in peace.
>>
>>25042087
Now that we've made sure she's safe, let's find Dr. Spriggan and give him all of our thanks. Ask how long he thinks it'll be until she wakes up, then go back and wait by her bed for a while.
>>
>>25042173
You leave Mellis to sleep in peace, but not before leaning over her bed and giving her a proper hug.
>>25042204
You find Dr. Spriggan's in his office, asleep at his desk and shake him awake.
"Great job doctor! You saved Mellis's life!"

"Thank you. I don't believe I could have done it without that data though. So you played just a big a part as I did" He says humbly.

"How long will she be until she wakes up?" You ask.

"Oh a couple of hours. 4 at the least. I'd like to keep her here for a week for observations, but you can take her out to have some fun when she feels she's ready".

You head back to Mellis's room and fall asleep with her, waking up to find her leaning up in bed, yawning.

"Hey, I'm supposed to be the one sleeping, remember?" Mellis says groggily, rubbing her eyes.
>>
>>25042432
"I just saved the Federation, blew up a space station, talked down the craziest bitch in space, and saved the life of a beautiful girl. I deserve my beauty sleep.

How're you feeling Mellis?"

After a bit of chatting tell her the EPIC STORY of Ambat.
>>
>>25042432
"Hey, I just got back from fighting the greatest pilot who ever lived. Granted, she was suffering from brain damage at the time, but I still feel I earned a nap."
>>
>>25042472
This right here.
>>
>>25042432
"Shut up."
"I just saved the Federation, blew up a space station, outrun a nuclear explosion, fought in a war and captured a psycho cyborg, all for saving your sleepy ass."
"I deserved a nap. Or a kiss."
>>
>>25042472
(sorry about the delay, had to restart my computer)
>"I just saved the Federation, blew up a space station, talked down the craziest bitch in space, and saved the life of a beautiful girl. I deserve my beauty sleep. How're you feeling Mellis?" After a bit of chatting tell her the EPIC STORY of Ambat.

"I was feeling great until I woke up. Head is killing me, but not as much as it was before. Thanks for...well, not letting me die and everything."

"No problem. Now let me tell you about Ambat..."

You proceed to tell an over exaggerated, awesome version of the battle of Ambat while including some real details like the reactor designed by idiots.

She listens, appearing doubtful but amused the entire time.

"So what's this about this Rysis women. You mentioned her like a couple dozen times. You don't have feelings for her, do you?" Mellis asks, speculatively.
>>
>>25042921
Well she did give me a good fight.

Make insinuations and see how she reacts.
>>
>>25042921
I'll just let you know that you give me bigger fear boners.
>>
>>25042921
"Are you jealous?"
>>
>>25042921
"Mellis, she's a couple steps beyond crazy, I mean that girl has gone full Looney Toons. She tried to kill me because I reminded her of someone who died 100 years ago who banged and didn't like the thought of banging me, she has crazy eyes, I saw her eyes, they're crazy eyes, and randomly went on crazy rants about destroying the Federation and teamed up with the mustache twirlingist villains this side of the train tracks. So, I suppose yes, to a degree.

She's also incredibly hot and I will not deny numerous fear-boners were caused, I mean cyborg femme-fatales are pretty attractive.

But you know what Mellis, the fear-boners she invokes in me are nothing compared to the terror-boners you give me. She's nice, might be a fun lay, but I couldn't see a future with her. Mistress material, not wife material, I mean she's carrying a torch for a man who's been dead for 100 years."
>>
>>25042921
"Well, she is rather beautiful. And she admitted to finding me attractive, as well. Hell, that's half the reason she tried to kill me, because I made her feel like a shotakon. Maybe in a few years."
>>
>>25043032
Correcting my post here.

"She tried to kill me because I reminded her of someone who died 100 years ago who banged and didn't like the thought of banging me when I'm just 15, she tried to kill me because I made her feel like a cradle robber." Then back into talking about crazy eyes.
>>
>>25043083
Fifteen years is far too old for her to be labeled that.
>>
>>25042921
"Did I not properly convey how crazy she is? I'm pretty sure that any attempt at romance would end with her making clothing out of my skin. Sure, she's interesting, she's one of the greatest pilots to ever live. Pretty hot, too, if I'm being completely honest. Clearly she has implants other than purely functional ones, if you get my insinuation. But come on, an exciting fight isn't the sort of thing a relationship is based on. That would just be crazy.

"Besides, I've already got a crazy lady in my life. It would be just redundant to get another one while you're here. You're all I can handle, Mellis. All I want to, too."
>>
>>25043104
>"She tried to kill me because I reminded her of someone who died 100 years ago who banged and didn't like the thought of banging me when I'm just 15, she tried to kill me because I made her feel like a cradle robber." Then back into talking about crazy eyes.

"So you don't feel anything for her?" Mellis asks.

"If I told you I didn't find her hot, I'd be lying through my teeth" You admit.

"OK, as long as you don't go plotting any three-way nonsense I'm fine" Mellis says with a a shrug.

"Damn it..."

"What was that?"

"Nothing, just glad to have you back"

Now what would you like to do Jake? Take her back to meet your friends she no longer wants to kill?
>>
>>25042921
"What's up with her? Let's see. She's a crazy, hot cyborg chick piloting the fastest suit in Federation space, with severe brain damage and who wants to kill me for reminding her too much of her former lover who died a 100 years ago. And apparently, she wants to bang the living shit out of me before she caves my skull in. And who can blame her, I mean seriously, look at me."

"But you know what? The Scarlet Witch is so, so much scarier. She almost did manage to kill me a couple of times. And she's my best friend for whom I'd go to the edge of the galaxy for. And beyond."
>>
>>25043182
"I wouldn't have gone through all that effort to keep you if I had any intention of getting a replacement. Who the hell do you think I am?"
>>
>>25043188
Let's take her back to see the others, she never really got a chance to meet Flit, or really any of them for that matter.

And hey, she can see Rysis and admit, that yeah, she is pretty damn hot.
>>
>>25043188
Let her heal up. The others are in no shape to be having visitors.
>>
>>25043188
"So, do you feel up for a trip? Dr. Spriggan said he'd want to monitor you for the next week or so, but that you'd be fine to walk around as soon as you feel strong enough. I'd love to introduce you to the rest of the gang now that Flit and Yurin aren't going to drive you into a homicidal frenzy from their presence. Besides, I've got cool toys to show you. I know you can't resist looking at cool new tech, even if most of it has been destroyed from beam gun fire. So what do you say? Want to meet some psychic people and roam a scrapyard?"
>>
>>25043188
Let her rest until she feels better. We're not going anywhere anyhow, considering how the feds are coming to take Grodek in.
Might as well spend the week here on Minsry while she recovers before heading home to Zarth.
>>
>>25043299
But there's engineering to be done. We can't very well leave weapons un-upgraded now can we?
>>
>>25043329
Yeah, but the Armstrong can stay here for a week to preform necessary repairs.
And while the Armstrong is here, we can engineer whatever we want, and we get Yurin's dad to provide us with resources.
>>
>>25043329
We've basically made Jake into a hoarder, haven't we? He's got an irresistible compulsion to acquire new tech, even if he never really does anything with it. Let's grab the wear packs that Flit never got to using for ourselves. We will have all the tech. All of it.
>>
>>25043271
>"So, do you feel up for a trip? Dr. Spriggan said he'd want to monitor you for the next week or so, but that you'd be fine to walk around as soon as you feel strong enough. "I wouldn't like anything more" Mellis says with a smile.

You help Mellis get dressed and take her back to Minsry. 4 hours before the Federation's arrival.

Who do you want Mellis to meet first?
>>
>>25043531
Have her meet CD and then Desil.
>>
>>25043531
The Armstrong crew, of course. Our comrades in arms.
Besides, I want to see Jack asking them embarrassing questions.
>>
>>25043531
Before anything, let's swing by Dad just to share the good news that Mellis is healed. Then let's find Flit and introduce him. We were going to meet up for a fist bump, anyway. Show her some of the stuff in the Armstrong's and Diva's hangars along the way. From there, let's see where the circumstances take us, but at some point we need to take her to Desil so we can get the "Sorry, I had mad scientists perform brain surgery on you" conversation over with early.
>>
>>25043531
Start with Jack and the Armstrong's crew. Then move over to the Diva. Finish the visits with Yurin and Desil.
>>
(Sorry for taking so long, I had to put the dishes away, I'm writing a post now)
>>
>>25043684
>>25043624
You decide to show Mellis to Dad, to show him she's not dad. The meeting is very friendly since your Dad already knows Mellis.

"Your lucky to have a boy like my son looking after you. Not that you can't look after yourself." You Dad says with a smirk.

"I think I have to watch out for your son more then he has to look out for me. Minus the whole me dying thing of course" Mellis says, trying not to give you too much credit.

You move on to the crew of the Armstrong, introducing her to Captain Frizzle and Dorthy Ann before showing her the pilots, Arnold, Ralphie, Tim and Carlos. Outside of her trying to strangle Carlos over a particularly bad joke, the meeting is very nice and she's seem to like your new found friends, taking a particular interest in Liz who Mellis says "Acts sort of like a big sister to you doesn't she?"

Next you move onto the Diva, Woolf immediately making some rather inappropriate comment and getting slapped by his wife-to-be Mrs. Alloy.

"I like her" Mellis says with a laugh.

Vargas, Emily and Dique all take kindly to Mellis, although Mellis is kind of creeped out by Grodek.

"That facial hair makes him look evil" Mellis states.

You go over to the mansion where Flit, Yurin and Desil are. How would you like to introduce them to Mellis?
>>
>>25044589
>That facial hair makes him look evil
Gendo disgrace the beard and sideburns.
>>
>>25044589
Have her wait outside for a minute while we go in and tell our X-Rounder friends she's coming. Make sure Desil knows that she's not holding a grudge and isn't going to hurt him. Then bring her in and be baffled as they proceed to have an entire conversation by X-wave transmission that we can't hear.
>>
>>25044589
"Yo." Short and simple.

Off-topic question for everybody: What is the diameter of the DODS Rifle beams? In most of the animation it looks like the beam 'blooms' to 4 or 5 times the barrel's diameter. But sometimes the beam matches the gun barrel. Which is it? I want to know for later retooling of the DODS Rifle.
>>
>>25044589
Mellis say hello to my comrade, my friend, and my surrogate little bro. In that order.
>>
>>25044589
Casually. Saunter on in with her. She already knows about them, we've talked to her plenty of times.

Introduce Flit as our co-hero and fellow batshit insane engineer. Yurin as a living saint and the nicest person ever, and Desil as our little bro as we pull him into a hug and a noogie.

Introduce Mellis to them as our ex-psychotic, as in she used to be crazy but is better now, coolest person ever and she often goes by the Scarlet Witch.
>>
>>25044685
Beam weapons always do that in Gundam. I always just assume that it's not actually blooming and it just looks like that because the beam is very bright. Which doesn't actually make much sense, but neither does particle beams being visible in vacuum, so I'm willing to handwave it.

What retooling are you thinking of doing for the DODS guns? You mentioned making a VSBR-style system earlier. Something like that, with very focused beams for high penetration?
>>
>>25044695
Seconding. We're cool with them, they are cool with us.

>>25044685
I guess they didn't really care when portraying that. Maybe it depends on the proximity of the target?
I'd say that the rifle shoots the beam matching the barrel, and that the shotgun fires the larger blast.
>>
>>25044742
Exactly. If the beam really does bloom out of the barrel, then focusing it more tightly could give it the punch to pierce MS-grade EM Armor without having to up the output. In canon, they simply doubled the DODS Rifle output (Hyper DODS Rifle) to bull through the armor. A narrower beam could travel faster as well, further improving penetration.
>>
>>25044813
Not a bad idea.
Would mass produced railguns do the trick as well? I doubt that EM armor can properly deflect EM crossbow bolts.
We could perhaps lower the mass of a typical bolt and create rapid fire kinetic weapons, or rail uzis.
>>
>>25044813
Hmm. Well, looking at a few clips, the blooming beam mostly seems to be when the DODS Rifle is being used for a sustained fire or high-powered shot. The rest of the time the beam is roughly the barrel diameter with only a twirling little muzzle flare effect expanding past that. So I'd say that any bloom is either a stylistic effect or a result of weakened containment of the beam when used at higher output. A Variable Speed DODS Rifle could probably work.
>>
>>25044909
This is a good point. No need to put all out eggs in one basket. We've demonstrated the worth of solid ammunition weapons, especially against EM Armor. I think mass production would be a good direction to go.
>>
>>25044909
I was leaning towards a 2-stage railgun solely for the Crusader and later the Farsia. A bullpup railgun with concealed adjustable rail extensions in the frame around the barrel and underslung grenade launcher. Normal mode would work like the now-deceased EM Ballista. The extra rails could extend out to double the accelerator length. At the cost of slower recharge, Jake could double the velocity of the rifle. That should give it the punch needed to pierce Mobile Armor armor.
>>
>>25045024
Yeah, mass-produced railguns and VSDODS rifles would be the way to go. Just need to introduce E-cap tech for the beam rifles. Oh, and attachable grenade launchers, too. We've seen many times now just how damn useful grenades are.
>>
We could invest in rail weaponry, ion weaponry and plasma weaponry.
Ion weapons would be extremely effective against the EM armor - it' would exhaust the shield in a shot or two, and it'd have a nasty EM effect on machinery.
Plasma weapons would deal enormous damage at close range, possibly melting the suit altogether. Or be a bitching bomb against enemy capital ships.
Also, we need to invent proximity mines. And mines with magnetic locks that attach to an enemy to fuck him over.
>>
>>25045116
Definitely. Explosive weapons are often underused in modern Gundam shows in favor of yet more beams. Hell, the G-Exes has missile launchers in its legs and never actually uses them in the show. Grenades should be a standard feature on any mass-production suit we design.
>>
>>25044695
>Casually. Saunter on in with her. She already knows about them, we've talked to her plenty of times. Introduce Flit as our co-hero and fellow batshit insane engineer. Introduce Mellis to them as our ex-psychotic, as in she used to be crazy but is better now, coolest person ever and she often goes by the Scarlet Witch.

You walk in and introduce Mellis to the people you've talked so much about. Flit, Yurin and Desil, who looks rather uncomfortable around Mellis for obvious reasons. Mellis introduces herself and the four of you stand around and talk for a little while, Mellis commenting on how nice Flit's hair is.

"Why don't we all sit down for lunch?" Yurin suggests.

"That would be wonderful" Mellis says with a nod as you go out to the back deck and sit down to a nice lunch of grilled PB&J sandwiches, Desil looking extremely uncomfortable sitting next to Mellis.

What do you want to do Jake? Anything you'd like to say or address?
>>
>>25045181
Well, arguably the beam weapons already are plasma weapons. Ostensibly they're particle beams, but their relatively slow speed, primarily thermal damage, and the fact that they can be spun around a central axis implies that they're plasma.

A true particle beam, firing either electron or ionized particles, could be very useful. It would impart both thermal and kinetic energy, and induce electric fields in the target by bremstrusstralung radiation(why is that word always left untranslated from German?). It would deal damage by multiple means, and be very hard to create a single defense capable of blocking it.
>>
>>25045181
Proximity mines could be very useful, especially when Jake makes a replacement for the King Arthur. I'm not too sure how the EM waves from Vagan EM Armor would affect magnetic locks, though. Could work normally, or the EM field the armor puts out could repel the mines. Time for an experiment!

>>25045207
Mm-hm. Grenades, bazookas, missiles, mines, heat weapons. Never really see any of them being used in AGE the way they were in other Gundam universes.
>>
>>25045246
Sit next to Desil and tell him to relax. The worst she'll do is punch him.
>>
>>25045246
Pull Desil into a noogie.

"Desil, little bro, she isn't psycho any more, the only one she's going to be terrorizing is me, and I'm used to it. The SCARLET WITCH is a force for good. Just relax a bit.

She won't bite, well she might bite me but that's only because I'll ask her to."

Distract him from his fear through embarrassment.
>>
>>25045246
Whisper to Desil: "It's alright, little bro. I talked with her about the situation. She's upset, but more at the scientists than you. Don't worry. She's a nice person. Just get to know her and I'm sure she'll warm to you.
>>
>>25045357
Seconded. We don't let Desil fall back into old thought patterns of everything being in terms of combat. The best way to do that is to be a dorky big brother. No one can think about their past as a child soldier when getting a noogie.
>>
>>25045246
I'd kinda ask for Flit to tell us what happened to him during the battle, but Desil is sitting right there.
Sit between Desil and Mellis, tell Desil to relax and ask everyone what their plans are now that this is all over.

>>25045315
Huh. I didn't count mass in, but it makes sense. If they were laser weapons (what I originally thought) they couldn't be spun around.
I was thinking of making plasma weapons more like that plasma cutter from Dead Space, just larger. It'd impart both kinetic and thermal energy, and induce electric fields.
We definitely need to make something like that particle beam gun.

Anyway, good old missiles would be killers out there. We could use those Vagan thrusters to make them run fast and silent.
A battleship with a lot of missile launchers and a small replicator / factory module inside would be near unstoppable, considering how everybody relies on that anti-beam chaff.
Or, replace missiles with attack drones and you've got space CDACE.
>>
>>25045574
Mobile suit laser weaponry doesn't appear until generation 3, actually. The AGE-3 has a "SigMaxxis Rifle" that's a miniaturized version of the Photon Blaster Cannon. It's pretty damn powerful, especially because light is barely affected by magnetism and as such goes straight through EM Armor. They never mass produce it, though. Only the AGE-3 and the AGE-FX have them.
>>
>>25045574
Supposedly, Gundam beam weapons are neutral particle beams. They do impart some kinetic damage, but the bulk of it is thermal and electric damage. Just being near a beam can damage a MS or kill a person from particle wash. Most of the time we don't see the kinetic damage, originally because of art limitations, and in the new art, because the beam pierces completely through most targets. We do see kinetic impacts from blocking shots in some series, but that's as scatter-shot as beams keeping to the diameter of their barrels.
>>
>>25045715
Well, UC beam weapons are neutralized. But outside of UC the beams are often charged. Gundam SEED beam weapons are explicitly referred to as plasma weapons. Beams in Wing and AGE can be deflected with magnetic shields. After War Gundam X never makes any particular reference, neither does G Gundam. Turn A references I-Fields, so they're basically UC tech. And beam weapons in 00 are some exotic particle bullshit that only causes secondary radiation showers if they're red, which I don't even know where to begin on the physics of that.
>>
>>25045690
Weird, I imagined they'd perfect laser weaponry before plasma weaponry, and that it has proven to be ineffective against the Vagan.
So, our next technological breakthrough should be photon weaponry. Or eventual tachyon weaponry, if we're being dicks.
>>
>>25045843
Why would they use charged particle beams? Don't those scatter more quickly from repulsion? And 00 is bullshit from start to finish. No need to bring that shit up. What effect would an electro-magnetic field have on a neutral particle beam?

>>25045851
I don't know how they handled it in other universes, but in UC at least beam weapons had 4 times the output of laser weapons for a given input of energy. Lasers were faster, but beam weapons were much more powerful.
>>
>>25045932
Well, I'm heading for bed. It's 2 am here and I have a family reunion to go to at noon. Fucking reunions. I'll be the only one there sober and under 45 I bet.
>>
>>25045932
Well, charged beams are easier to generate, as you don't have to do any fancy neutralization. They also have more than enough range for most purposes. Mobile suit combat tends to take place at very short range. Charged particle beams in atmosphere "self-focus" from interactions with the ionized air they produce at the leading edge of the beam. This means they should have sufficient range. You can't do that in space, but if you use protons or ions instead of electrons, they've got enough mass to avoid too much scatter.

Magnetic fields would have no effect on neutral beams. The beam has no electric moment to interact with the field, and passes right through. It might manage to scatter it a bit from separating the component particles into separate positive and negative streams, but thermal effects would basically mix them back together almost instantly. That's why Minovsky beam weapons in UC are so powerful. Regular charged particles could be deflected with magnetic fields, but Minovsky beams would ignore them. Only the interaction with the M-particles comprising an I-Field, which was implied to be some sort of nuclear force issue, could block beam weaponry.
>>
>>25045932
AGE has really weird tech.
I mean, they have giant robots and plasma weapons, but no holograms or cybernetics (besides what we introduced in this quest) or stuff you'd expect to be commonplace at that time.
If we assume that most of that tech was banned after the Colony Wars, and that somewhere out there are additional databases like EXA-DB, but containing all the tech, medicine, cybernetics and so on that was used during the war. Which again doesn't make a lot of sense, since that would imply that they decided to step a collective step backward in all the fields of science, regardless of whether they have military application or not.
>>
>>25046071
>I mean, they have giant robots and plasma weapons, but no holograms or cybernetics
All the Gundam series are like that.
>>
>>25046115
Well, Mobile Suit Gundam is the future as viewed from 1981, and the franchise as a whole sticks with that. So it's a bit backwards in a lot of ways. Hell, if we're going by depictions in the series, the internet didn't exist in the Universal Century until UC 96, when Unicorn is set. And then it's gone again within fifteen years for F91. Clearly something really bad keeps happening to the information technology infrastructure. I blame the M-Particles.
>>
>>25046115
I know, I know. I guess I'm still in the Alpha Centauri tech mindset.

Eventually, yes. That's called dramatic conflict. Without it, the story would be boring.
