Once the unnerving feeling of being watched fades, you let out a small sigh of relief. You fiddle with your phone in one pocket, debating on calling John and warning him about his trap, or perhaps you could use this as a chance to eliminate him and his Servant. Either way, you have some time to prepare.

I was thinking of getting rid of John, but it doesn't seem right, man. He's obviously got something for Monster, and doesn't even have a wish!
There is, however, the dilemma of making Monster "powerful."
I'm gonna wait a bit before I make my decision...
>>

>[X]Warn John and Tomoko
We don't betray our allies.
>>
>>25162842
>[]Use this opportunity to eliminate John

Since we've dealt with the Archer problem we don't particularly NEED him as an ally anymore, so we may as well get the betrayal train rolling.
>>
On a slightly less important note, can we ask John for his leyline so that we can increase the power of one of our generators? But only if it can give enough power... Can it?
>>
>>25162980
Enough power to fulfill Monster's wish, I mean.
>>
>>25162952
>we may as well get the betrayal train rolling.
There is a significant chance that Assassin is watching us right now. We will die as soon as she thinks we are a threat to her master.

I thought we were all on board with keep Tomoko as our ally.

Hell, this might actually be an attempt to get us to help kill Monster before turning on us.
>>
>>25162991
A single leyline alone could not sustain a Servant without a Grail. Even with your current generators, the Servant would have to be incredibly conservative, likely spend weeks or months sleeping if it wanted to be anything beyond get up and move around active.
>>
>>25163000
I don't particularly see how stabbing John in the back would affect our alliance with Tomoko.

Sure SHE might have some issues with it morally, but its Assassin we have to keep happy. Our alliance with Team Monster has been tenuous at best since it was built on vague promises and the fear of a threat we've since eliminated, so I doubt Assassin would bat an eye at us murderizing them.
>>
>>25162991
Did Monster ever tell us what her wish actually is? We should use the good will that not betraying her nets us to determine how we can help her fulfill it.
>>
>>25162842
>[]Warn John and Tomoko

We don't backstab. We frontstab, and now is not the time.
>>
>>25163084
>I fail to see how backstabbing one ally would make another ally nervous
At the very worst, we should let Tomoko know and try to surreptitiously she if she wants to warn Monster and John or kill them.

>"I'm doing it for her, really." He answers calmly, jerking his thumb up into the shadows.
>"I'm doing it for my people. My Master, my family, my home. I want to help them all. Watch over them all." Monster replies from above, "I either need the grail for my Incarnation, or an immense source of power. If you can provide us with either of those you would have our alliance."

You flip your phone out and give John a quick call.

"Rook," He says, picking up on the second ring.

"Archer. Listen, Another Master is trying to set up a trap to deal with Monster and Assassin using me and Caster. Nicolas feels we can use this opportunity to turn the trap around on them." You inform him. You hear him curse softly on the other end.

"Alright, thanks for that. I'll be sure to let Monster know. Bye." He says, hanging up quickly. You're a little surprised at the abrupt end to the call, but shrug and make your way back to your current hideout dialing Tomoko as you go.

"Mega Man reporting in!" She greets excitedly.

"Tomoko. Be careful tonight. Another Master is planning a trap with 'Archer' to try and eliminate Monster and Assassin." You advise her.

"Right. I'll have her stay on full alert then, and conserve my MP." She replies, suddenly coldly serious.

"Good. We'll meet up later tonight." You tell her before you both hang up as you arrive at your hideout. You've got a bit of time to either rest up or experiment. Or you could look into identifying some of the Servants you have been exposed to.

The problem isn't in being able to move about like an ordinary person, the problem is building her reserves enough that she isn't restricted from her abilities. I'm pretty sure the fact that Saber already had a physical body and hadn't died yet was a major factor in their ability to do that. Remember that she wasn't a traditional Heroic Spirit, since instead of being summoned in spirit form from the Throne of Heroes, she was actually just being catapulted through time in order to take part in the Grail War.

Guys, I think our brain is busted.
>>
You spend much of your time poring over various books in libraries and using the internet trying to find out who the various servants might be. Saber seems to come together pretty quickly as Oda Nobunaga since he's a Samurai and he has to be famous to be a Servant. Assassin, however is being incredibly frustrating to identify, but you think you've made some leaps forward with Monster. More than likely, she's not going to be associated with someone pure and heroic. Probably somewhat demonic. And if she has people she was protecting, that narrows it down even further and you saw spider like traits in her fight with Archer. You have a strong suspicion that she either is or is related to the Kashikobuchi Jorogumo. The demons were known for the stealth and trickery, and it would explain the abundance of water in the school when you returned there. You do, however, have difficulty in finding out if she actually has a name, or confirming that it is her. But for now, you probably ought to get ready for your trap.

If she's with Rook, we're with Rook, Tomoko's with us, then we've got more than half of the living Masters on our side. That can't mean anything good, can it? Especially not if she's actually got a wish. I'm not too sure that Rook will side with us. We really need to make sure that Assassin is around and ready to insta-gib Monster if this gets nasty.
>>

>Saber seems to come together pretty quickly as Oda Nobunaga

Nicholas, Nicholas please. Nobunaga wasn't especially known for his swordsmanship, at least not any more than your average Sengoku period warlord. Thats a bad assumption and you should feel bad. Such is life when we can't roll above 50 on a d100

Plus, there is only one version of Nobunaga fabulous enough to take part in a Grail War, and this Saber is most certainly NOT him.

Your phone buzzes with a text from Marianne on where to meet her. You forward the text to Tomoko with a request to make sure Assassin is on watch. With that taken care of, you call John up.

"I can't find her. She's already gone out on patrol, and hasn't been answering any of my attempts to call her. I've sent her a message with your warning, but..." John answers, sounding a little confused. This is a worry development, but maybe Monster is laying low to avoid being caught?

"Well, I trust you two. I'm headed there now." You tell him.

"Good luck." He replies before hanging up. You meander into the area of the park and see Marianne waiting there with a figure standing off to one side in the shadow of a tree. Next to Marianne herself is a man clad in green that it almost takes you a minute to place, but when you do you find yourself at a slight loss of words.

"Archer, good to see you could make it in time. I would like you to meet two Servants who have agreed to help me in this endeavor, Hero and Villain." Marianne greets, gesturing first to the green clad man and then to the insect clad figure. You incline your head in greeting and Hero nods in acknowledgement. Villain seems to merely ignore you.

"And the final piece of the puzzle, Monster." A familiar voice says from behind you and you manage to twist out of the way as Monster attempts to grab you. Immediately Assassin appears in front of you, fog spilling out of a lantern on her belt as she stabs at Monster who deftly dodges. Hero has drawn his sword and shield and Villain seems to burst into insects as Marianne laughs.

Sayaka goes after Hero, Candeloro goes after Villain.

If we can break away to a safe distance try to call John and get him to Command Seal Monster back to him. We aren't responsible for what Assassin does to her otherwise.
On another note, the Servant roster is now Caster, Assassin, Saber, Archer, Monster, Hero, and Villain. That accounts for all 7, assuming we're still operating under the standard 7-Servant cap. That would mean that Lancer, Rider, and Berserker won't be making appearances.

"Caster! Do what you must to win!" You order as Candeloro forms behind you and launches herself towards Villain. Sayaka materializes from where you had thought Caster was, and she swings at Hero who deftly blocks with his shield. You turn to Marianne but she's already gone by the time you can see where she had been. You reach for your phone in your pocket but jerk as several bees stings your hand, causing you to drop the phone. A swam of insects cover it and carry it towards Villain whom Candeloro is failing to capture as the Servant keeps turning into a swarm of bugs whenever she is caught and stinging your ally. As the fog is over taking you, you hear Assassin whispering. "Maria the-"

"Kashikobuchi! Waiting in the Water's Shadow!" Monster growls as a torrent of water and darkness spreads out from her feet, knocking you off your feet. You hear an angry buzz from the direction of Villain and you hear Assassin curse as she gets swept up slightly in the current and collides with you. You're now blinded, in the dark, and you can feel something in the water with you. But now you know for certain that Monster is the Jorogumo.

That legend is what gave her this bounded field. That might do something, but I'd rather go for either candeloro's barrier (access to familiars, though we'd have to bait our enemies into it to make it really work) or Archerko's Reality Marble (likely a high DC, but if we manage it we fucking win this shit easy. >>
So, do we have a vague consensus for a plan?
>>
>>25165540
That's actually a good idea. The question is whether or not those items exist within UBW. For technically, all he has is everything that's inside "Gate of Babylon". Anything that isn't had to be encountered in life somehow (eg. Jewel Sword of Zelretch).

If they do that's the easier option. If not we must go for full activation.
>>
>>25165610
Remember, we have Archer's full suite of blades, not Shirou's. Archer spent an entire lifetime fighting and adding blades to his arsenal. Shit, he might even have more than single lifetimes if the blades somehow get preserved in-between summonings.

For the bee man, could it be Fritz von Meyer, the Spider-man villian?
>>
>>25165609
Do we actually have a reasonable chance at manifesting UBW, or is that outside our capabilities?

If yes, then we should do that. Because fuck you Monster. If no, well, I'll have to keep thinking because this situation is pretty fucked.
>>
>>25165669
You think you might. You don't know how mana intensive it is, and you've never had to practice in projecting a Reality Marble before, but you know the basics.
>>
>>25165459
I figure if that's what you were going for, it's probably better to represent it with "???" like you've done with all other unverified stats/abilities.

>>25165486
The point of the stump is that in the versions of the legend involving it, the stump is what she mistakenly drags away under water rather than her intended target. It's less about the fact that it's an element of the legend as it is the fact that it'd be a mythologically resonant decoy.

It'd be like if we were trying to combat Balder by using mistletoe, or Cú Chulainn by sneaking him dog meat. (Albeit not as much of an instant I Win button as either of those would be.)

A weakness that is canonized by virtue of being part of the legend itself is generally going to be waaaay more efficient pound-for-pound than one that is just conceived out of general combat experience.

That said, it might very well not work at ALL, seeing as the tree stump ruse working was only due to an error on the part of the jorogumo, rather than a weakness enforced by an outside power. That's actually a legitimate interpretation of the EX rank in F/SN. It doesn't necessarily connote an extremely high rank. Is there a precedent for an ??? rank skill?

>>25165697
Let's fucking do it. It's really our best shot in this situation. Do that, then perforate Hero with swords.
>>
>>25165697
Fuck it, lets try it. Its that or get chewed on by Monster.

It'll probably lead to us burning out and losing Archer's body, since it does use a fuckton of mana, but if we drop an enemy Servant or two I'll take the trade.
>>
>>25165835
You mean perforate everyone who isn't on our side with swords. UBW is termed "unlimited" for a reason.

Though I would say we just crucify Monster and order Rook to burn a Command Seal saying "You will never harm Nicolas in any way" if we do manage a full activation. How do we get him to do that? Simple, we tell him we pierce her heart, cut off her head, and mince the remainder of the corpse if he doesn't. We'd hold all the cards in that situation and he loves her, he'd do it to save her. We'd pull a Malcom Reynolds. We do the job, and then we get paid, at gunpoint if need be.

Bee-man will be difficult to hit without grabbing a fire-based phantasm and activating it, which will burn a fuckton of mana.

We shouldn't risk trying to take her alive. While I still say prioritize Hero perforation, if we gun for Monster, we gun to kill. Just be careful not to hit Assassin

>>
>>25165961
That only works if it's a single enemy, or that we can't get anything behind or beside him. If UBW fully activates, we can get him from all angles. He can't defend against such an attack. He'd be fucked.

>>25165989
Not really. UBW reduces mana cost for most anything to virtually nil. If the Phantasm is fire based, it's mana cost would likewise be reduced. The only real cost is that it is of one full rank lower strength than the "real thing".
>>
>>25166021
Also, just thought of something. We project Gae Bolg. No matter where we thrust, it always pierces the heart, because it has ALREADY pierced their heart. It is literally an attack that cannot fail to hit the target unless it has godly luck like Saber did.

Sadly, it won't instafuck monster as she has said luck. But it'd instafuck most anyone else here.
>>
>>25166021
>UBW reduces mana cost for most anything to virtually nil.

True. We probably aren't going to be able to keep it active for very long though since UBW itself is highly mana intensive, so our biggest obstacle is going to be the indeterminate time limit before we run dry.
>>
>>25166016
Can't block arrows from all directions, and at least a few of the NP's that we hurl at him will be of high enough rank to blow through that.

>>25166075
We might not know of Gay Bulge. I'm thinking for individual weapons, we might just have to try projecting something that fits what we want and hope that that works. Otherwise, we could just try projecting a flamethrower. Archer has definitely seen one of those.
>>
>>25166087
You only need a few moments of full activation to really fuck shit up if the marble is powerful. That is why it's a forbidden spell by the Magic Association. A man with a RM like "Depletion Garden" or "Unlimited Blade Works" could decimate an entire army of Executioners. Can't exactly retrieve their Crest if all the guys you sent to grab it are dead.

>>25166127
He knows of many legends and has researched previous Grail Wars. He knows about it man. Also, a flamethrower is a ranged weapon. UBW explicitly cannot copy those. Only melee weapons, or things that are almost exclusively melee weapons (because you can throw spears and such) exist within it.
>>
>>25166180
Archer can trace ranged weapons though. He projects bows all the time.
>>
>>25166237
Which he then uses to fire swords at people.
>>
>>25166237
He had that bow in life. That is why he can project it. It's his/hers, so of course he/she has access to it. In truth he never had to project it, it was something he/she always had on their person.
>>
You begin to pump mana through this body's foreign circuits, trying to push them deep into yourself to root out what you can feel is something embedded deep within you. "I am the bone of my sword." You begin, reciting what you can remember of Archer's activation phrase. You grunt as you get jerked by your feet and are pulled into the water when someone manages to grab you. Probably Assassin judging by their size.

"Archer...not yet." You hear Tomoko's voice whisper.

"What are you doing here?" You hiss.

"Killing Monster. I've got her taken care of if you can handle Hero." Tomoko replies softly, her voice fading as she moves away from you. You feel the shadows themselves moving and pushing you, helping you stand in the water.

"Steel is my Body, Fire is my Blood." You continue, the fire deep inside you beginning to burn even more. Something nicks your face and so you begin to move in a semicircular fashion, tendrils of shadow pushing and guiding you, "I have known Death, and I have met Life." You add, ignoring Monster as she unleashes a pained scream, "Through my pain, I have created many weapons." You mumble as someone lands in the water next to you, "And so, these hands will never claim any." Your voice begins to raise as you prepare to finish the incantation, the furnace within you glowing red hot and pulling on your reserves with greater speed than you could feed it yourself.

"So as I pray, Unlimited Blade-HRK" You cry, your voice suddenly cut off as pain shoots through your body as your skin seems to blacken and char. Your bones creak and stiffen and you let out a howling scream that sounds like metal on metal. You find yourself split for several intense moments between your body in the warehouse, also screaming, and Archer's body.

"Archer!" You hear Tomoko cry, and then she suddenly screams.

"Tomoko!" Assassin adds. There's an angry buzz, and Assassin curses as you fall to your knees. The darkness begins to fade and you see Hero stalking towards you with his shield out. Assassin is bound tightly in silver cord with Villain standing over them and Tomoko, Monster standing between. Tomoko's face is bleeding and Assassin is practically frothing at the mouth, trying to crawl closer to Monster. Your flesh is blackened and burned and molten metal is dripping from your wounds. Underneath your skin you can see interlocking scales of blades. Tomoko gasps upon seeing you as Hero raises his sword high above your head.

She could have won this easy, but again, he's saving her. She's his ultimate trump card that he is holding in reserve. "Friends...my friends. Don't touch my FRIENDS!" Tomoko yelled, squirming in her bonds as shadows lurched out from under her and swelled up and around everyone as buildings of dark stone and metal sprout around you. Hanging in the sky is a blood red moon and the streets are slick with blood. "The City Sunken Rises!" She screamed as pools of blood and shadow began to stand taking familiar forms. A man dressed much like Hero manages to block the attack from hitting you. Next to Monster a bloody and dark woman much the same as her lashes out at her. In the sky, you see two swarms of bugs merging into one, with more bugs rising from the blood and shadows around you. Next Tomoko a bloody version of Archer's body appears and cuts her and Assassin free. They quickly rush over to you.

"Leave...We...need...to leave." You rasp out. She nods and the bloody version of your current body gently scoops you up as Tomoko and Assassin run over to Candeloro and Saber where they are down. Saber seems to be recovering, albeit slowly, while Candeloro seems slower to heal. After Tomoko whispers something to them, they both fade into spiritual form. Tomoko glances back into the city where the enemy servants are constantly being blocked by their blood shadow duplicates.

"Assassin. Make sure Monster stays dead." She ordered.

"Yes, Master." She mumbles, disappearing as the streets begin to fill with fog. Tomoko leads you and your bloody shadow away. Once the fog has built, Monster lets out a gut wrenching scream. As it fades into sobbing there's another scream and another until finally silence. Shortly afterwards Assassin reappears covered in blood and holding a heart. With one last forlorn glance from Tomoko the city fades and Assassin leads you out through the fog. Your bloody duplicate carries you back to the warehouse and then collapses into a pool of blood on the floor and Tomoko collapses into bed with you, panting from exhaustion.

If we die here, all we lose is our hijacked Archer body and maybe Assassin. A loss here would hurt us tactically, but we're not in imminent danger of losing the War.

Also, I'm guessing the reason he won't summon Homura except as a last resort is because after she deals with the immediate threat, she'll try to fucking kill him. Otherwise he could have summoned her already and be using her to win every fight.

We have to have faith. Tomoko is a young, naieve girl. She likes us too by the looks of it. That adds to motivation. After all, you are more motivated to save people you know and like as compared to people you don't know at all or people you DO know and do NOT like.

We are in the first category. She knows us and likes us. Thus, she is at least somewhat motivated to save our sorry ass. Human nature, it exists. That means saving our sorry ass is in as favorable of a position as it could ever hope to be. Let's hope she does.

Monster is already dead. Frankly, Rook knew combat was going down. He could've used magic or a CS to ensure that she didn't try to betray us. We should use this as a good chance to test the Stealth Myr's combat abilities.

A thousand thank-yous to Tomoko, accompanied by a hug and hot cocoa. She went from zero magical capacity to shutting down a 5-servant melee in the space of a few days. She done good.

Put Caster on full alert in case anything tries to attack us while we're weak, and send the stealth-bot to scout out Rook and see how he's reacting to this. If Monster went rogue we don't have to kill him, he's a decent enough guy and its not his fault his Servant dun goofed behind his back.
But if he WAS in on it, oh boy will there be hell to pay. And by hell i mean Candeloro. She's probably pretty hungry after that fight.
>>
>>25166959

>Agreed. We must discover if if Rook planned this, or if Monster acted of her own volition. If the former, we tell him about it. If the latter, we murder them both ASAP.
It's mostly irrelevant at this point; he will already know Monster is dead for one reason or another when he sees his command spells fade, so it's basically game over for him as far as the grail war is concerned.

That, and contacting him in a conversational capacity seems pretty difficult what with the fact that our phone is off floating in a cloud of bees somewhere.

If we're able to contact him, though, we basically have to go "Ok, jig's up. You get to tell me everything you know about Marianne Hyde and any servants she has been in contact with, or I'm going to murder you so hard the bloody pile of meat that used to be your body will have to put itself under the overseer's protection from beyond the grave."

That said, IS there an overseer for this Grail War? I know the whole grail system for this war was sort of jacked out from under the Einzberns, so I dunno if this thing is being done entirely aboveboard, so to speak.

I've only suggested we romance her if it was in our best interest. Think of me as the "Chamber" of this quest. I only suggest the most logical course of action, devoid of such things as "emotion" and "ethics". She has proven herself to have a great power that can deter multiple servants. As affection is now confirmed to be a driving force in her motivations. I logically recommend we increase the amount of affection she feels towards us. In order to ensure she continues to save us with her powers. Indeed, the ultimate goal is to have her sacrifice her own life to spare our own in the closing moments of the Grail War. She and her servant die in order to see our dream realized. We must win, and we will win. Fuck all considerations to the contrary. Though the best possible scenario is to get her to share our own wish. To fuse the Mundane with the Magic... What true nerd could say no to that?

I don't think we've been contacted by one, and as far as I know nobody else has mentioned it either. With a quick thought, you switch to your normal body and wince as even there you hurt. But you can move again, which is a vast improvement. "Tomoko. Thank you. Thank you so much." You say softly, "You too Assassin."

"You showed concern for Tomoko." She says simply.

"Nee-chan, I told you I can hold my own now." Tomoko whined as you work to make some hot cocoa. Your arms shake as you try and pour it and Assassin comes up beside you, taking the cups and pot from you and pouring them with practice. You can feel Candeloro's presence wrapping around you as Assassin stands so close to you, and then it fades as Assassin brings the tray back to the bed. You sit down next to Tomoko and Assassin as the stealthy servant hands the cups out. As you and Tomoko slowly drinking the cocoa, Assassin carefully inspects the Archer body's wounds before breaking into your small reserve of first aid supplies.

"Tomoko, are you okay? That was a rather impressive feat of magic you pulled off there." You ask her.

"I'm just...tired. Only small nicks and cuts, from when Assassin and I were trying to find Monster. Her stupid field thing blinded us both. Assassin could have killed her earlier, if we could have found her." Tomoko grumbled, "But...when I copied them like that, I learned so much more about them. Monster was tracking us in the water with spiderwebs spread through the currents. If anyone moved, she could snare them. That's how she caught us...And Villain wasn't there. Not really. Only the bugs. Hero...I didn't have enough time to grasp him."

"Don't worry too much about it." You assure her as she grumbles, "For now, just rest. Assassin and I will keep watch."

"Promise not to do anything without me?" Tomoko asks. Assassin nods, so Tomoko finishes her cocoa and immediately passes out on the bed. You stand with a sigh and glance at your familiar and give it a mental nudge. It's a bit sluggish at first but then bounds off towards where you hope John is.

Technically the Grail just needs prana to power it, not Servants specifically. Its just that Servants are by far the easiest method, since their essence naturally travels back into the Grail when they die. So if we could locate the central Grail its possible we could hack it if we had a way to gather the necessary prana.

Of course we'll probably just Command Seal gank poor Caster, since we don't trust him even a tenth as far as we could throw him. But we CANNOT say that out loud, ever. In fact, just take what I said at face value, since we probably shouldn't even be thinking it just to be safe.

Poor Rook.... I wish there was a way we could help.

>>25168006
This. And burn the hotel for good measure.
>>
>>25167921
Haha. So John isn't a Magus like us. Too bad for him.
>Spend the day recuperating
We must lick our wounds, make additional preparations, ect, ect...

Also, make sure he understands that you don't backstab until you are damn sure you are at the very end of a Grail War. We cannot even be sure that the 7 master limit applies. Gotta be damn sure of that before you start trying to figure out the best time of betrayal.
>>
>Spend the day recuperating.

It sounds like Marianne and Hero and Villain came off much better than we did in that exchange, right? In which case, its better for us to marshal our strength before we retaliate.

[X]Spend the day recuperating

As much as I want to go murder the bitch, we came out of that fight worse off than they did i think. If we're lucky the Hero/Villain alliance will come apart since their plan backfired and Monster is dead. In any case, we can fight better on our home turf, especially since all the Servants with Presence Concealment other than Assassin are gone.

Let's take out that hotel.

You spend most of the day recuperating, fading into and out of sleep for most of the day. When you finally do awaken, Sayaka and Assassin are sitting at a small card table and Caster is in Tomoko's lap being pet. Tomoko looks much better than she did the previous night and Sayaka seems to be in perfect shape. Monster manifests by you and you can see that she's still recovering, welts across all of her exposed skin. The bugs really got to her, it seems. Night will be falling again soon, and you probably ought to do something now.

I like it.

Probably won't harm him, but it'll piss him off and possibly ruin anything he was working on in there.

"Caster, we probably want something fire-based to deal with bug boy. Got anything on tap?"

Also hook Candeloro up to one of our generators while she recovers so she isn't putting strain on QB, that should allow us to maintain a third pseudo-servant so longs as she just chills and lets the generator power her, right?
>>
>>25168348
This.

Hero will be fairly straightforward to deal with, if annoying. Saber as well most likely.

But all we have on Villain is that he uses bugs. And bugs traditionally do not like fire.
>>
>>25168348
Thirding this. Once that's determined:

>Have Caster supervise the Stealth Golem going out to watch Villain's hotel
>Buff our own defenses
>Have Assassin go watch Marianne's place
>Have Tomoko focus on recuperation

Reality Marbles are serious business, and we can't risk her frying any of her circuits. If she really wants to help, have her help us buff the defenses. We've already had Caster work on them once before, so we've got his alien magic. We can focus on more mundane type shit that a normal magus wouldn't bother with. Maybe use Tomoko's shadows to help conceal them.

"Candeloro, I want you to rest today. Use the secondary generator to help speed it up. Tomoko, you also need to rest today." You tell the two. They both frown but nod. With that taken care of, you turn to Caster. "Caster. You wouldn't happen to have anyone with a bit of a fire bent available, would you?" You ask him.

~In fact, I would. I have just the Servant for dealing with Villain. She is a bit mana intensive, but so long as Candeloro is recuperating it shouldn't be too much of a problem.~ He tells you. With a minor glow, a young woman appears before you, clad in a white dress with a long brown ponytail and a katana by her side.

"Servant Caster has answered your call." She said softly, "What is it that you would have me do?"

Ayase Souju: the Magical Girl that collects Soul Gems...
I guess we should test her out on the hotel.

"Oh, you know the usual, groceries, clothes need to come in off the line. a bit of Arson here and there."
"Also, if you could tell me a bit bout yourself before a firefight starts, i made a bit of a mistake with one of you before and i want to make sure I don't fuck up this time."

Don't fucking tell her that. Just ask her to give you a rundown of her combat capabilities.

haha, time for BUG HUNT!

"We've got a little bug problem of the Servant variety that Caster believes you're qualified to deal with. Could you give a run-down of your abilities so I know what to expect once we get into combat?"
>>
"Groceries, laundry, cleaning around the house. You know, the usual stuff. But first and foremost we have a bit of a bug problem and Caster says you're well suited to dealing with it. Do you mind giving me a quick run down of your abilities?" You ask her.

"Very well, Master. I am capable of both strong fire and ice magic, and can combine them to devastating effect. As well, I am also practiced in swordsmanship, though probably not enough to keep up with a Saber." She answered.

"I see. Anything esle?" You ask.

"Yes. I have two souls." She replies. Her clothes change to a red dress as she curtsies. "I am Luca. I have the same skills as my sister."

>Any last minute preparations before starting the bug hunt?
>>
>>25169056
Let's send Sayaka with her then. Have them retreat if they encounter the actual Saber. If they run into Hero alone, try to tag-team him. If they run into Hero and Villain, try to stall Hero with Sayaka and burn down Villain.

The best bet might be to just head to the hotel and light it on fire.

Let's have Cubes follow in the Stealth Golem so we can bolster the defenses. We'll switch roles when they encounter an enemy.
>>
>>25169104
Seconding all this.

We've got a remote viewing platform with the Golem so there really isn't a reason for us or Coobie to leave the base.

Also I was a bit leery of leaving Candeloro unsupervised in the base with Tomoko. Not that I don't trust her as much as its possible to trust a soul-devouring horror, but still.
>>
>>25169146
Frankly, the sooner we can use Candeloro on Saber and get rid of her, the better. She's already getting antsy about Assassin being near us.
>>
Since things seem a little slow, I'm going to call it here. We'll pick up next time with the Bug Hunt. If someone doesn't mind archiving this?

Before I update the Ebook, does the Monstrous Nature skill do anything specific, or does it just signify she wasn't human in life?
>>
>>25169549
Er, let me update that in the GDoc. Forgot it was a skill I had to fluff up
>>
There, it's updated. Its similar to Monstrous Strength, just more permanent and with less of a straight up boost.

He might very well have immortality or at least multiple lives. It's part of his story.
He's also immune to fear and wields the power of the gods.
And he can pull equipment out of nowhere and produce magical songs.
>>
Why does QB's contract power specify girls?
iirc any intelligent being with emotions can be contracted.
Using little girls is just a matter of strategy. Just like JB's purifying of soul gems without grief seeds.
>>
>>25168843
The Batman part of that equation is what bothers me. He's like Hassan. All will depend on what version of him was summoned. If they got a broken fusion of all versions of Link we are well and truly fucked.
>>
>>25172060
We've got Caster and Assassin, as well as two masters with unique combat abilities and the Stealth Golem. We are extremely well-suited for going around a single servant to gib his Master. Especially with our particular Caster.

Frankly, I'm more worried about Saber than I am Hero.

Strongest emotional response. The emotions of young girls are more intense than they are in males (he says young girls are the best source of emotional energy), thus, they are more efficient to contract because they pump out more energy.

This also makes them more predictable, a male might come to more logical conclusions if he ever discovered the truth because of dulled emotions. Still not likely, but more probable. In short, the contracting of males is an unnecessary risk. If the right magical boy/girl came to a rational decision the whole system might break down because they have enough suffering in their destiny to make it happen. Homu and Madoka reformatted the system, best not to risk contracting someone who could potentially annihilate or fuck up everything rather than reformat. Thus, he sticks to girls, whom he and his race are largely certain they can manipulate.

I wonder if the Master Sword can banish Candelero.
She's basically an unholy being, after all.

I'd say we keep that possibility in mind. His light/silver arrows are the same thing.
And let's hope he doesn't have beam-attack equipped on his sword.
There's so many pieces of equipment in each incarnation that could fuck us up...
A staff that shoots fire. An Ocarina that can allow him to teleport, to affect the flow of time, to... Fuck, I actually forgot most of the tings that it could do.
He's got a shield that can blow back any magical attacks and is able to breath infinitely under water or equip very effective defenses against fire.

The problem is still that he is still essentially "Batman", and you know what that means. There are many versions of Link, and many tools at his disposal. So many I can't recall all the potential tools at his disposal. Magic, weapons, armor, shields, swords, ect... too many potential items/weapons/abilities to calculate and identify based on current information.

That's the problem. And God help us all if we gotta face the unholy fusion of all versions of Link, with access to ALL of his abilities and tools. In that state, the man is pretty much invincible (even has a spell that makes him so for a few moments, or at least, swings his Endurance stat to the EX rank).

>>25172254
Exactly my point. I've played damn near all the games, he can pull so much shit even I can't recall all of it without recourse to internet research. Too. Many. Potential abilities!
>>
>>25172296
>Exactly my point. I've played damn near all the games, he can pull so much shit even I can't recall all of it without recourse to internet research. Too. Many. Potential abilities!
Even emotional control might not work.
Look at Twilight Princess Link. There's nothing going on in his brain. He just stares off into the air, even during the most emotional moment with his childhood friend.
We have nothing on him.

And that incarnation also has dedicate sword techniques that might fuck our shit up. Only two or so were useful in the game, but they might be a lot better in the Grail War.

And don't get me started on familiars.
Can he summon his fairies? The talking hat? The boat?
>>
>>25172296
We bog him down with megucas and assassinate his Master.

>>25172254
I think saving Candelero for Saber is our best bet. Or maybe seeing if QB can forcibly unsummon her, freeing up space and helping to keep us safe.
>>
>>25172329
>There's nothing going on in his brain. He just stares off into the air, even during the most emotional moment with his childhood friend.
I'm fairly certain that we can safely ignore technological limitations and foibles. Otherwise he should be able to save-scum us to death (Septim style).
>>
>>25172349
>I'm fairly certain that we can safely ignore technological limitations and foibles.
That's not a technological limitation.
It was a stylistical choice.
Wind Waker Link did have emotions and paid attention to his surroundings.
Even the fucking N64 version looked surprised in some situations.
TP Link is basically a robot.

That's about all we can do. Gotta find out who that is first though sadly. Dear Lord I hope it's a girl, Assassin is still in the game. Any Female is, in Kenshirou's words, "Already Dead" at night with her on the table.

>>25172349
He still has to play the song on his Ocarina in the worst case scenario. His save scumming comes with a casting time. We simply interrupt his melody with beam spam, bullets, and/or other such fuckery. Don't let his gay elf ass play a full tune on whatever instrument he's holding, period, and we keep him from save scumming.
>>
>>25172349
No we can't. Dude is like Lancelot, he almost assuredly has his own version of "Knight of Honor".

>You are now imagining Link in a fully loaded F-22 from a local U.S. Military Base on the hunt for any magus in the area.

Scared yet?

He's basically Homura with offensive powers and only global bullet time instead of time stop.
