LAST TIME ON ZEON QUES- WAIT NO….

LAST TIME ON GUNDAM AGE QUEST: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/25222831/

Check my Twitter Account for updates, reschedules and such; quest related stuff only don’t worry about hearing useless crap: https://twitter.com/Crosswire

Your name is Dirk Crocker and you have helped save your home colony from destruction at the hands of the Magicians and are currently having dinner with the 18 year old female member of the Magnificent 7, Rena Zarth *Not Zakat, my spelling was off last time*.

Everything was rather fine, Dad and Mom would arrive in 6 hours, Scarlet was helping your grandparents home to the Colony Defense HQ where your currently at and Asemu is currently flying around a dumbed down version of the AGE-2 called the Vant.

Then Rena began asking questions about the AGE Builder and wondering how you would upgrade it. Unsatisfied with your answer she removed a Data Drive from her jacket and holding it up, proclaiming it held the secrets to developing Nano Technology and increasing the AGE Builders power exponentially.

What is your reaction to this Dirk? What will you do?
>>
>>25263916
"Nano-Tech?! What is this I don't even..."

Drag her off to a nearby computer to look at the data and geek out completely. It's fucking Nano-Tech! Yeah, if this is legit, Dirk will damn near propose to Rena on the spot.

Anyways, glad to see you're feeling better.

Drawanon reporting in!

I'm in favor of adding as many new technological tricks to our arsenal as we can get, but I'm biased here because I just want to design more things.

Assuming the nanobot tech is legit, what would be the downside of feeding the data to our Builder? The primary mechanical benefit would be the ability to synthesize precision materials at a molecular level (I don't think anybody's going to suggest we build grey goo bombs, that's just asking for stuff to go wrong).
>>
>>25263916
"Okay, see, now I KNOW this is going to end with an army of killer self-replicating robots. This conversation is exactly how that sort of thing begins in every story I've ever read. Though, I suppose I am the kind of person to be tempted by this regardless of my genre awareness. Tell me more."

"How exactly did you get this data?"

This is a honey trap. I bet as soon as the data is input the builder's internal workings will be copied and sent to the Vagan.
>>
>>25263987
Better off trying it on a stand-alone system. Even if Rena's nano-tech is legit, it hasn't been built before. Gotta try it out and work any bugs out before adding it to the AGE Builder.

Nanobots could do some useful shit for us. Limited self-repair systems could be added to MS. Full Psyco-Frame MS (or an AGE equivalent) could be produced. We could finally replicate the Black Raven's fuel storage/armor. There's probably lot's more stuff we could make.
>>
Glad to see you're doing better, man.

Anyway, Dirk, get serious.

"Okay, Rena, who really are you?"

"You seem awfully interested in the Builder - essentially a state secret, you know a lot about it even though it's classified information, and you come out of nowhere with *supposed* data on nanomachinery. Not to mention that you appear to be a X-Rounder prodigy, expert pilot and tech wiz. And I think that as soon as we pop that data drive in the builder, it'll either copy the schematics and upload it to somebody somewhere, or just break it down. Or worse."

"So forgive me if I seem paranoid, I had a pretty nasty week of revelations and plot twists, but better safe than sorry. Hell, at this moment, I wouldn't be surprised if you turned out to be my friend's long lost sister or something."
>>
>>25264032
nanobots actually wouldn't really have self-replication abilities unless specifically built for that, and if we got our hands on the data i'm sure we could use it safely.

so, basically: we need to analyze this on, say, a computer with similar specs as the AGE Builder's computer but not actually attached to the builder- or, for safety reasons, the internet either. Destroy the computer's hard drive once analysis is finished so nobody else gets even a whiff of the data.

>>25264062
not sure how that could possibly happen, unless the data disk itself were a transmitter- there's no reason why the age builder would transmit signals to the vagan unless the disk had some sort of virus to corrupt the builder's signal-sending or something.

in any case to be safe, again, we analyze this on a non-builder computer before we stick it into the real deal.
>>
>>25263987
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Drawanon, you are amazing. Seriously, this is simply fantastic work.

As to the benefits of incorporating nanotech to the AGE Builder, I can think of a lot more than just precision synthesis. Scaling laws mean that efficiency of a machine goes up as it shrinks. In theory, a nanomechanical motor might be a millionth the strength of a regular scale one, but you can put a billion of them and the power linkages to combine their output in the same space. Stronger actuators, high-storage capacitors, incredibly dense computational power, heat pumps that could keep our machine near cryogenic, smart materials that actively maintain their structure...the list of goodies goes on and on. This could potentially bring us to Super Robot levels of power.

Or kill us all as they get out of control and devour the Solar System. That's always a possibility.
>>
>>25264134
Oh, I know the nanites wouldn't necessarily have any self-replication ability. I was posing that as a joke on Dirk's part.
>>
>>25264134
Agreed. If we do pop this bad boy in, better to do it somewhere safe and removed from the outside world, just in case.
Like you said, a computer with no access to the internet, and specifics similar to the AGE Builder (how we'll get access to something like that is another question).
On a side note, why wouldn't the data disk be a transmitter? Or worse, a tracking signal for the Vagans.

>>25263987
Drawanon, that's glorious as always.

>efficiency of a machine goes up as it shrinks

I'm guessing that gundams and mobile armors are exceptions to this rule, eh?

I'd actually love to see, say, a Ma-G level AI end up recursively self-improving after it steals the nanobot technology and uses it to reverse-engineer its own computing substrate, and end up a new faction in the war or something. Self-improving AIs are always one of my favorite tropes.

picture poooooossibly related.

>>
>>25264163
Well, Crosswire did mention a thread or two ago we'd love how much tech we'd have to work with to make 3rd gen Gundams. This might actually be legit. Still need to test it on an isolated, stand-alone system. even if the data is legit, we've never worked with nano-machines before. Gotta work out any bugs in the system and stress-test it so we know the limits.
>>
>>25263916
Wait. Her name is Zarth? As in the name of our colony? Is she going to turn out to be from some old spacenoid aristocratic family? Is that how she has access to ridiculously advanced technical secrets?
>>

>>
Guys how about a sentient Nanomachine colony?
>>
>>25264258
>I'm guessing that gundams and mobile armors are exceptions to this rule, eh?
Okay, maybe it was dumb of me to bring up scaling laws in the context of giant robots. But their size just means we can fit more nanomachines in there. We'll have so many nanomachines that even MGS4 will think we're taking it too far.
>>
Man, Ezelcant better not get his hands on this. Guy's just about mad enough to actually smelt all of earth into greygoo in the name of 'cleansing' it of the earthlings. Forget colony drops, this would easily end an entire planet.

...Also better not let the Feds learn about it either on the other hand. Mars is a planet as much as Earth is, after all- and one far more abundant in iron too by percentages.
>>
>>25264379
We'll have nanomachines making nanomachines. The self-combining robot will soon be ours.
>>
>>25264398
That's why we need to first check it out. If this is a trap, we won't compromise the Deus Ex Builder. If it isn't, we have fucking nanotech.
Better go with asking her who she is and how did she get this, before we get down to testing it. This reeks of sabotage.

>>

Actually, can be.
We know that Zarth is an ancient industrial colony whose only purpose was building pre-AG machinery before it was abandoned.
So who knows what else can we find if we dig through the history of the colony? Hell, that's why the old history society was probably founded for.
>>

We'll install a program that ensures that the suit is always under the command of a Crocker.

That worked so well for Kyoji.

"How exactly did you get this data?" you ask, raising an eyebrow.

"I found it in an old post office in one of the colony walls here" She explains. You think on the matter and realize that's supposedly where Dr. Jones over at the Zarth History Museum discovered Dad's Gundam.

"Okay, see, now I KNOW this is going to end with an army of killer self-replicating robots. This conversation is exactly how that sort of thing begins in every story I've ever read. Though, I suppose I am the kind of person to be tempted by this regardless of my genre awareness. Tell me more." You ask, stating your fears.

Rena giggles. "I don't think it'll come to that. Here let me show you the data..." She fishes out a laptop and sets it up on the table. Plugging in the drive she allows you to go through it's contents.

The drive details some early experiments with Nano-machines and quite a lot of data from these experiments. Schematics and instructions on how to recreate the last model of Nano-Machines made. The process is complicated to say the very least. You have to build a machine, which builds a small machine, which builds a smaller machine, which builds a smaller machine and so on and so forth until it creates a nano-machine. The slide containing the nano-machine should be linked to a computer system and left in a 'breeding vat' with various metal junk so the single nano-machine can become a culture.
>>
>>25264658
You find the biggest sun that you can, pick a direction and call that east. Then subjugate anyone who disagrees.
>>
>>25264702
"This process is very complicated...but I think the AGE Builder can do this" You explain.

"That's what I was hoping to hear. After we make these Nano-machines, let's modify the the AGE Builder to use them, does that sound good?" Rena asks. "Sorry if this is so sudden to intrusive, it's just I've had this data since I was a kid but I've been to afraid to approach anyone with it for fear they'd destroy the world or something. You seem like someone who's smart enough not to abuse them..."

Your thoughts Dirk?
>>
>>25264716
Ask her for the data to run some tests.
Paranoia dictates that we test the data on no less than three different machines.
>>
>>25264658
Depends on the coordinate system. Galactic positioning is a tricky science, and there are several competing styles. But yeah, if we're using the galactic longitude model, East is counterclockwise around the galactic core.
>>
>>25264716
>but I've been to afraid to approach anyone with it for fear they'd destroy the world or something. You seem like someone who's smart enough not to abuse them..."
The problem isn't if I'd abuse them, the problem is if they'd form an artificial intelligence, decide humans were obsolete and attempt to kill off Humanity during a Gundam Tournament by assimilating pilots with Nanomachines and combining itself with a giant colony.
>>
>>25264716
Go over the data with Jake and Flit. We can build a stand-alone system to start making nano-machines for experimentation, but I'd rather have the experts on the AGE Builder look over the nan-machines before adding them to the Builder. Remember too, Dirk doesn't own the Builder, Jake does. Permission is better than forgiveness when it comes to our Deus Ex Machina.
>>
>>25264716

"......"
"Yes.... I can see it now, We shall use it to make the Best Fast Food Resteraunt in the Whole of the Earth Sphere!"
"MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!"
>>
>>25264716
"Two questions."
"First. Is it okay with you if we show this to Jake and Flit once they get here? I'd rather not do something without their authorization, and fuck the Builder up when we need it the most. And we need to test this thing out first. Second, you had this since you were a kid? Who are you really, Rena?"
"Also... Sorry for being a little bit cold back there. This is seriously big news, and I had a rough week. So sorry if it seems I doubted you or something."
>>
On a side note, did we ever make those magnetic mines for mobile suits?
Or holograph projectors that'd serve as decoys in a battle?
>>
>>25264716
"Thanks for trusting me. You're right, this is definitely something that could be abused really easily. If we're going to do this, I'm going to need to set up a lot of security measures. But I don't think I can pull that off on my own. Would you be alright with me talking to my Dad about this? The Round Table development group could get the precautions needed to do this right. And responsibly handling potentially world-ending engineering advancements is practically a family tradition for the Crockers, so I figure he can be trusted with it."
>>
>>25264810
>>25264987
"Mind if I show this to my Dad and Mr. Asuno? Mr. Asuno was the one who made it and my Dad technically owns that AGE Builder. That and The Round Table development group could get the precautions needed to do this right.Responsibly handling potentially world-ending engineering advancements is practically a family tradition for the Crockers, so I figure he can be trusted with it." You explain while looking over the data.

"Alright, that's perfectly understandable. As long as your not going to destroy the info or use it for world domination, I'm just glad to have it out of my hands." Rena stretches her arms and yawns. "Since we aren't going to work on the AGE Builder, do you want to do something else?"

Your Dad won't arrive till another 6 hours. What do you want to do Dirk?
>>

>>
>>25265376
"I've no idea. What would you like to do? I guess could make some more of those new suits and run some test flights."
While we make those things, ask her a little more about herself. After Asemu comes back, we find Scarlet and have a 2v2.
>>
>>25265376
"I'm in the mood for some engineering. How about you?"

See if we can't work on making the Merlin faster.
>>
>>25265376

Run by her the idea for Gundam Bikes (the bike that turns into personal armour not the Gundam sized Bikes...)
>>
>>25265520
Considering how transforming suits are going to be all the rage, we might as well. Heavier suits transform into mobile armor, lighter suits into gundam motorcycles and so on. Make the transformation depend on the currently equipped wear, so we can easily switch and change our forces depending on the situation.
>>
Okay, guys listen to me here.

How about a gundam made completely out of bits.

Like, basically every single component outside of the core block is detachable. The gundam needs never fear getting anything chopped off- removed limbs just break apart into component funnels and start shooting at the enemy. It's impossible to incapacitate the gundam completely unless you destroy every single part of it, and even then the core block is still a viable escape craft.

"I'm up for just goofing off, personally. Though I suppose I should check in with Asemu at some point about how the Zant turned out. Anyway, want to head to the rec center and see if there's anything good to do on-base? With the alert state I can't see us leaving the building for anything anytime soon."
>>
>>25265682
Well, at the moment. Soon, everybody is going to have one. And if I remember correctly, they dropped the wear system in Gen-3 in favor of transforming suits.
So instead of dropping the wear, we combine the two concepts - basically, each wear functions as a suit and can transform into a vehicle/armor/whatever.
>>
>>25265512
Attachable leg and shoulder verniers for the Merlin? That could be useful. Or maybe a beam shield. If we don't add the extra bells and whistles from the Gawain's shield/saber/rifles, 1st gen beam shields should be doable. Maybe some mounted weapons for Asemu's MS. Hip-mounted grenade launchers or folding railguns could be helpful.
>>
>>25265736
The Adeles and AGE-3 still used wears. And we'd end up with alot of weird looking wonky suits, like the transformable stuff from Seed.

"Hey Rena, what do you think about a bike that turns into a suit of power armor?" You ask.

"Huh? Sounds interesting. What were you thinking exactly?" She puts a finger to her chin in thought.

"Well a bike is small, faster and maneuverable, excellent for infiltration. Imagine if it could also act as a suit of armor, probably powered, for the infantrymen riding it? I'm sure they'd have to wear a special suit to use the power armor to prevent chafing or something but other then that the mechanisms wouldn't be too complicated..."

"Sounds pretty damn awesome. The Vagans rely heavily on mobile suits, so if it ever comes down to taking a territory by manpower we could have the advantage with something like that. Your Dad could probably propose the idea to the big-wigs if you want him too." Rena smiles. "Your pretty damn smart Dirk"

What now Dirk? Want to spend some more time with Rena? Ask her some more questions or bail and check up on Asemu?

The AGE-3 did use wears, but wasn't able to transform like the AGE-2.
And they did drop the Adele in Gen-3 in favor of the Clanche, if I remember correctly.

>And they did drop the Adele in Gen-3 in favor of the Clanche, if I remember correctly.
They still used Adeles in Gen 3. The Adele Mk.II Ground and Space type, which was considered a Mainstay Unit in AG 160 because it's easier to handle then the more difficult Clanche. The Adele Cannon was also heavily used.
>>
What if we work on cloaking the Merlin?
>>
>>25265954
Oh yeah, forgot about those. Sorry.
So in our timeline, we'll replace them with the Vant? Because if so, we need to make this thing as modular as it comes.
>>
>>25265981
Well, the reason the Adele stuck around is because it's easy to learn and pilot. The Clanche will probably end up as a Ace/Commander suit unless the Vant is more expensive to build or more difficult to learn and pilot, in which case it might end up limited production run based on Ace preference.
>>
>>25266024
Well, we did make it from the prototype Clanche and the unfinished AGE-2. So there's a lot to improve.
Maybe we should combine it with the Pioneer as well? It's based on the G-Bouncer, the standard for Aces, so it can work.
>>
>>25265981
Upgrade it to an F90-style MS? The F90 had 11 hardpoints and over 26 different mission packs. It could do damn near anything.

>>25265980
We DID capture a Vagan MS with a cloaking system intact. I'd be more interested in detecting Vagan cloaks than making our own. Maybe we can make the AGE-2 Artimes Wear early with that data. The sooner we start down that sensor-tech tree, the better!
>>
>>25266138
Yeah, upgrade it to an F90-style MS. A transforming F90-style MS.
>>
With all the advancements Dirk is doing, I am honestly picturing Gen 3 having him piloting a Merlin... while controlling a entire squad of various Merlins with his mind. Hell, with nano machines, we could use them to make weapon packs and mods mid combat!
>>
>>25265806
>nanomachines

Can you say, "nanomachine superhuman"? (Eve from Black Cat, Black Rock Shooter (PSP game), Suguri, etc.)
>>
>>25266408
I pictured that's how he's going to deal with the Magicians.
He doesn't want to kill Desil's family, he knocks them out cold using MIND CRUSH, and pilots their units with his mind. Then we capture the remaining 6, break free their parents and by Gen-3, we have an entire army of badass X-Rounders. Or the two suits we destroyed were actually controlled by Desil's brother/sister (the Vagans do have the tech to do that), so there's still 8 of them out there, and this was just a test run to see if their new helmets and X-Rounder override systems are working properly.
>>
>>25266408
"Dirk, are you controlling a dozen Merlins with your mind?

"Hey, remember that suit I mentioned earlier? The Vant? Well how about we check how Asemu's tests of it are going? He's been at it for about an hour now, should be done by now..."

"Sure, I'd love to check this thing out!"

You lead Rena to the hanger where the Vant stands, Asemu sitting down and sipping from a water-bottle.

"How did it handle?" You ask.

"Like a deathtrap!" Asemu exclaims. "That thing has so many bugs and issues I'm lucky to be have landed the thing in one piece!"

"Woah, Woah, explain what happened. Tell us what's exactly wrong with it" Rena suggests.

"Everything. Thruster controls, movement macro's, sensor array set up and a lot more. I didn't even want to think of trying the transformation function. It's like someone smashed two completely different suits together..." Asemu wipes his brow and empties his water bottle.

"...Mental note to self, not everything the AGE Builder makes is solid gold..." You think to yourself as you look up at the Vant. "Damn I was really hoping this would be good..."

"Well don't give up on it. I'm sure it just needs to be properly developed. You used data from two unfinished/untested prototypes to make it, so it's bound to have flaws. Let's keep it around and experiment with it. Maybe you could pump out the actual Gundam this thing is based off." Rena suggests.

Well Dirk? Thoughts?
>>
>>25267027
Get cracking on fixing those issues. We will have transforming mechs.
>>
>>25267027

What is more dangerous to try, a transforming mobile suit, or a transforming normal suit? The way I see it, if we get one to work, it will make the other easier to do...
>>
>>25267027
>Maybe you could pump out the actual Gundam this thing is based off.
We wanted to anyways, let's pump out the AGE-2 Flat and another Proto-Clanche. Since it seems like the Vant took the worst parts of each suit, we might be able to play around with the AGE-2 and the Clanche and at least figure out the most beneficial pieces of the data to keep and which to throw out.

Note: Keep the original data seperate, put the new data on a different drive. We don't want to screw up and find our original data ruined.
>>
>>25267100
>a transforming mobile suit, or a transforming normal suit?
One fucks up and crashes or crushes you, the other fucks up and crashes or crushes you. The normal suit one would probably be more difficult though, if only because of the miniaturization the transformation system would require.
>>
>>25267027
"Bah, pumping out the original is silly, what's the point of making something if it's not new and improved, if you aren't working out kinks and making it better, everything can be improved. The actual Gundam it's based on can be used as a starting point, but we don't stop there. We never stop.

Let's get some fiddling with it in. Rena, you interested in joining us as we stare at computer screens and bicker about how to make it better? We might even insult each other because of Asemu's tainted love of beam weapons over solid projectiles."

Time for some engineering. Pull up schematics for the unholy bastard child that we made, and the two suits its based on. See what it grabbed from each one, what the best parts of the component prototypes are, how to mesh them together.

>Bah, pumping out the original is silly, what's the point of making something if it's not new and improved
Because the original is the new and improved thing. This is the unholy bastard child of two unfinished prototypes that we smashed together. Finishing the original would help immensely in developing a mass produced transformable MS, and since it's an Age System Gundam will end up being superior to the Mass Produced version anyways.

We also wanted to make an Age-2 Flat for Asemu ANYWAYS.
>>
>>25267027
Go through the flight data with Rena and Asemu. Let's see if we can iron out some of the flaws. Where IS the AGE-2 anyways? Is it sitting around somewhere? Or is it still in the untested blueprint stage?
>>
>>25267260
>Where IS the AGE-2 anyways?
I believe Frittos has it and is working on it. He just hasn't rolled it out yet.
>>
>>25267027
Let's fix this thing. Asemu will have an unique, what-the-hell-is-that-thing suit. We made the mistake of combining two incomplete suits.

Take the schematics for the naked Merlin and combine it with the proto-AGE-2. That'd give us at least a functioning Gundam 1.5.
If that works, fix the found bugs, and combine that thing with the proto-Clanche. Again, fix new bugs, and see what can be improved.
>>
>>25267027
"One AGE-2 coming right up."
>>
>>25267339
Indeed. LEt's improve the thing so it's more a custom suit as opposed to a MS one, THEN make the MS model later. Let's give it a new name too. Like Gallahad or Lancelot for the knights of the round theme.
>>
>>25267482
Call our new prototype the Mordred, seeing that it's a bastard child of the AGE-2 and the Proto-Clanche. Let's try to fix this thing. Might have to run the first model through the recycler, though. It might be easier to build a new MS than fix our current problem child.
>>
>>25267482
Did Merlin have a brother? Because we should totally name the Merlin-based Gundam like that.
Or let Asemu choose the name - it's his Gundam, after all. And considering how he's Woolf's kid, I wouldn't be surprised if he goes with Fenrir.
>>
>>25267596
>Call our new prototype the Mordred, seeing that it's a bastard child of the AGE-2 and the Proto-Clanche.
That's the Vant. I believe the AGE Builder even called it the Vant.

>>25267482
What?

Also, let's get the transformation system done, and build some weapons before we run out materials on shit like Franken-MS. The only reason we're doing the AGE-2 and Proto-Clanche now is to try and figure out how to get transformational MS to work properly. The AGE-2 will be a superior MS for Asemu in any case.

You decide to take a look to see what exactly is wrong at the suit. After going over the flight data with Rena and Asemu you find that Asemu was right. There is not a single system in the mobile suit that works properly. Now even the AC works right, probably explains why Asemu looked so hot and sweaty. It'll be a nightmare to properly fix this thing without months of work, however with proper data from the Proto-Clanche and AGE-2 you'll have a much easier time fixing it's many, many, many issues. You decide to send this model through the recycler and decide to remake the Vant once you have a proper amount of data from it's 'parents'.

As for the AGE-2, you don't really know where the original is. It's possible Mr. Asuno is using it as his personal unit or is still experimenting with it. Ether way you have enough data to recreate it and the Proto-Clanche.

>>25267364
"One AGE-2 and One Proto-Clanche coming up." You say and begin the manufacturing. The process takes about two hours plus some assembly time that's made rather quick thanks to the R&D Test Team still hanging around.

The Proto-Clanche is reborn and working well and the AGE-2 looks pretty damn cool!

"Wow! Now that's a mobile suit that doesn't look like it'll explode in my face." Asemu exclaims.

"Interesting. A lot more different from the AGE-1 then I thought." Rena says, seeming to like the MS as well.

What would you like to do now Dirk? You have an hour and a half till Mom and Dad arrive.
>>
>>25267027
>>25267260
Maybe we should use the test flight data from the Vant to improve the AGE-2 design. We know what doesn't work now.
>>
>>25267705
The AGE Builder has stupid names. It's a random evolutionary generator, you can't trust it to understand how to name things properly. It's basically just mashing words together. We can name our prototype whatever we want, especially if we modify it from the AGE Builder's original design.

And yeah, we definitely want a functional transformable suit as early as possible. Preferably one better than the AGE-2. Just so that when Flit comes around with it we can be all "Oh, yeah, that thing. Are people still using that old model?" and be really dismissive.
>>
>>25267839
Time to test the suits. Asemu gets the AGE and we use the Clanche.
>>
>>25267839
I assume the data we have for the AGE-2 didn't include the Hyper DODS? If that's the case, let's fab a gun to fit the nosecone spot. Let's go heavy EM Rifle, because until we make some advancement in beam weapons we're not going to be doing anything with DODS tech against Vagan suits.

Let's test-flight these things. We need the data. Get the AGE Builder cracking on the cloaking field data ripped from Zeheart's MS. We might not be able to make the Artimes Wear right away, but the sooner we start improving sensors the better.

The AGE-2 shield looks rather small. Maybe we should upgrade it to a 1st gen beam shield?
>>
>>25267882
>Preferably one better than the AGE-2
I doubt we'll get one better then the AGE-2. That thing is so damn well designed that it and a SUPAA PIRATO can run circles around AGE-3 and fight toe to toe with Legilis.

>The AGE Builder has stupid names.
Vant sounds cool and it's a name the federation would actually use. Let's keep the whole "Knights of the Round" thing to the Crocker Family.

>>25267839
"Like it Asemu? It's all yours. Now you own two MS."
>>
>>25267986
Yeah, but we're not working on a Federation project. We're working on a "Crocker family dicking around" project. We're making something cool for Asemu. Let's give it a cool name.
>>
>>25268096
The cool name can wait until we make this AGE-2 a unique unit. Once we've modded the hell out of it we can give it a cool name.

The AGE-2 is a still a prototype. The Prototype Clanche is a highly experimental model being used to collect data for it. The AGE-2 is still brand spanking new.

>>25267986
"Like it Asemu? Well it's yours. After I modify it so it actually works without the AGE System, but hey, now you own two mobile suits" You smile at Asemu and his expression makes it pretty clear he's over what happened with the Vant. You give him a bro fist.

"How about you test out the Proto-Clanche? Aldrick already flew the thing and it seemed to work alright. I'm going to get the AGE-2 in working order for you." You say, climb into the cockpit over the AGE-2, MID and Haro bringing tools up to you as Rena comes to help.

"I'll consider the AGE-2 as payment for all this test piloting I'm doing" Asemu shakes his head and grins, both of you get to work.

(I mentioned this before, but thanks to Jake's earlier efforts, all mobile suits can collect data that can be used for the AGE Builder. You succeed in modifying the AGE-2 to run without the AGE System. However you add a Haro Port so Asemu can ride around with his buddy. Process takes a good hour and a half. Asemu comes back into the hanger just as you finish up.

"How is the Proto-Clanche?" You ask, repelling down from the cockpit.

"It's OK, it's fucking hard to handle though. Feels very back heavy, clumsy, the response time is horrendous. However it's maneuverability and speed are excellent. Transformation mechanism works great for the most part. Still, it has a lot of issues." Asemu says, coming down and meeting up with you.

"Well it's experimental, but that shows potential for mass production" Rena adds

"In a couple of years perhaps, HQ is still wrapped up trying to distribute the Adele models, they don't want to hear the word 'new' anything for at least 5 years" You turn to see a bearded figure enter the room followed by a women with fiery red hair.

"You boys have been busy, finally get a girl friend?" The women asks.

"Who are they?"Rena inquires.

"His parents" Asemu laughs.

"Nah, Flit's been using the AGE-2. He's a big wig Vice Admiral now so he hasn't gotten a lot of time to test it out. He's actually asking Akito for the AGE-1 back so he can swap out the AGE system and being toying around with the AGE-1 again." Jake perks up at the mention of the X-Rounder suit.

"Really? It doesn't look like the Black Suits my boys ran into. Must be the prototype version, obviously heavily customized. Maybe I can finish that Anti-X Rounder system I've been toying with..."

Jake rubs his hands together as you shake your head. "Dad, wasn't I working on that?"

"Well, yeah you were, but I got bored so I decided to take a crack at it." Dad gives a simple shrug and you sigh before remembering something important.

"Also! Desil has a brother, and his family is being used-"

"I know, Desil called and told me everything. That's why I'm thinking of a rescue mission" Jake stats, getting very serious.

"Rescue Mission to where?" Asemu asks.

"To Mars. Or more specifically, the Vagan homeworld" Mom explains.

Magic Schoolbus- Dorthy’s Ship, Arnold, Tim and Ralphie, with Custom machines.

TREASURE STAR!

Have Scarlet and Akito protect Big Ring.

Maybe have Asemu, Dirk, Woolf, Rena and Yurika head to Vagan? They'd probably love the Treasure Star.

Mission to Mars:

Take the Crocker AGE builder from Zarth.

Colony Protection:
Mellis, Woolf, the Camelot (I guess it has its own AGE builder) and the Diva.
Maybe have Dirk, Scarlet and Asemu stay behind just in case.

Big Ring Protection:
The remaining Magnificent 7, and the Asunos (who can finally see Flit again).
It has the largest defense already, and the Asuno AGE builder can be deployed there.

> Camelot, Diva and Scarlet (possibly pirates) on colony protection.
> Magic Schoolbus, Magnificent 7, Asunos and Dirk on Big Ring.

>>
>>25270043
The Magnificent 7 are Special Forces. Splitting them up would be a bad idea. That would put them and the Magicians 8 (now 6) on par, or if there members weren't in those suits, outnumbered 8 to 6.

You could send the Magnificent 7 with Jake and call in the pirates for back up at the Colonies. Hogan would probably love to visit his 'extended family'. Plus you heard he had some cool suits with him and his personal crew now. Bisbidan has some kickass resources thanks to Jake.

Works for me.

Do we have a secure way to contact the Schoolbus at Big Ring from Zarth? I'd rather not have our Titan-expys get ahold of nano-tech or Photon Cannon tech.
>>
>>25270402
Because Dirk can't control his power. And using his power for too long at the moment could probably kill him.

On a side note, we could make some asteroid decoys like the Bisidians used in the canon timeline. Threaten the Vagans with the destruction of their entire colony if they don't cooperate.
And I guess we can't call in Rysis or Travis for this one?
>>
>>25270501
Speaking of Photon Cannons, if we go with the above plan, we'll have 2 at the colonies and none at the Big Ring.

I'm a bit concerned about sending a team of X-rounders to the home of the only other guy who mite have mind rape powers.
>>
>>25270565
??? We have 3 Photon Cannon-equipped ships. The Diva, Camelot, and Schoolbus all have Photon Cannons and the AGE Builders needed to use them.
>>
>>25270501
You, Scarlet and Dad are pretty sure you can easily set up a secure info line between the ships. No need to worry about leaked info.

Oh, where do you want Mom (Mellis) to go?
>>
>>25270636
Goddamn do I need some sleep. Sorry.

Yeah, that works fine. So, let's finalize this thing:
> Mars - Jake, Magicians 7.
> Colonies - Scarlet, Asemu, Diva, Camelot, Pirates
> Big Ring - Dirk, Akito, Yurika, Magic Schoolbus
Or we switch the 7 with the cast of the Schoolbus, just to be safe from the inevitable Ezelcant mindrape.
>>
>>25270762
She's staying with the Camelot. She's the only X-Rounder we have on colony defense.
>>
>>25270762
Keep her with the Camelot. She's used to working with the Round Table Team, so let's keep her there.
>>
>>25270797
> Mars - Jake, Magicians 7.
> Colonies - Scarlet, Asemu, Diva, Camelot, Pirates, Mellis
> Big Ring - Dirk, Akito, Yurika, Magic Schoolbus

Everyone agree for this set up?
>>
>>25270895
Yep. Big Ring has plenty of defenses and is a smaller area to cover, so they need less forces than the colonies.
>>
>>25270895
Maybe we should switch the 7 and the cast of the Magic Schoolbus.
I don't want to see Jake cut down Desil because Ezelcant possesses his suit.
>>
>>25270895
Looks good to me, but where is Desil?
>>
>>25271006
Part of the Magnificent 7.

>>25270980
Jake's been working on anti-X-Rounder tech. Maybe, with the data from Zeheart's MS, he can whip up a power-armor sized X-Jammer? Worth a try, at least. Ezelcant spends most of his time in cryosleep, doesn't he? He did in canon at least. Might get the chance to fry the bastard while he's out...
>>
>>25271127
Yeah, but wouldn't using anti-X-rounder tech neutralize our X-rounders as well?
Better have a team of normal Aces than risk it, don't you think?
>>
>>25271127
> Mars - Jake, Magicians 7.
> Colonies - Scarlet, Asemu, Diva, Camelot, Pirates, Mellis
> Big Ring - Dirk, Akito, Yurika, Magic Schoolbus

"Alright, I'm going Mars with Desil, Rena and the rest of the Magnificent 7" Jake states. "The less you know about this ship the better"

"OK then I'll stay here in the colony with Asemu, the Diva, Camelot, the Pirates and Mom!" Scarlet says, giving a thumbs up.

"I guess I'm stuck going to Big Ring with Akito, Yurika and the Magic Schoolbus." You shrug. "Oh well, it'll be a nice change of pace"

"Alright, we're all scheduled to leave within the next 24 hours. I'm taking the Camelot, a shitload of materials and Woolf's Old Genoace, the one with that experimental system. Going to need that Red Suit for examination" Jake states.

What preparations should be made? What equipment should be made/taken by the three parties?
(Going to take a shower brainstorm while I'm gone)
>>
>>25271309
>"The less you know about this ship the better"
Man, that sucks. I wanted Dirk and Asemu to have totally awesome funtimes with an older Daiki.

"Nope. As soon as you get back, you're telling us all about your magic funtime ship. Because you know that now that you've told us, we'll spend every waking moment trying to get on it, and if you're not there we'll end up breaking something and erasing time."
>>
>>25271309
While we're at Big RIng we can work on those nanomachines.
>>
>>25271309
>stuck going to Big Ring with Akito
We must sit him down and make him watch Gekigangar III on the trip.
>>
>>25271417
Honestly I prefer not knowing about the magic funtime ship. Because this way I can pretend it's whatever I want it to be. The Treasure Star would be interesting, yeah, but once you introduce the concept of time travel it kind of dominates your thoughts. This way I can just assume it's like, I don't know, an experimental bias field drive. Still incredibly fast and potentially capable of breaking physics, but not disrupting my entire view of how causality works in this story.
>>
>>25271309
Woolf's old Genoace? Was that mentioned as being something special? Because I don't remember that at all.
>>
>>25271309
-Mars team needs power armor. Give Jake beam shield data, current beam/EM weapon data, and red MS as well.

-Asemu's AGE-2 has no weapons besides the beam sabers and Strider Beam Gatlings. Make a heavy EM Rifle for use. His shield is rather small as well. Upgrade shield to 1st gen beam shield.

-Pack extra resources for all AGE Builders, just in case.

More stuff later...
>>
>>25271531
I will say, you don't have to worry about Time Travel outside of that one incident. I believe Ryuji's was a huge one off fluke.

Besides, how can you not want to hang out with Daiki and the Treasure Star. We might even be able to share Wears with him. He's like an AGE version of Judau.
>>
Maybe Dirk and Asemu should give Jake their designs for the G-Bike. It could come in handy for a mission such as this...
>>
>>25271309
Well, obviously the Diva and Armstrong each need their AGE Builders. Appropriate amounts of feedstock for the manufacturing process, too. Parts for everyone's particular suits. EM weaponry should be the standard ranged equipment until the Hyper DODS gets built. Other than that, I can't think of any particular equipment issues that can't be solved from resupply on-site. We'll want Dirk to take the nanotech data with him so he can get started on miniaturizing the stages, but that's as far as I can think of for specifics.
>>
>>25271631
I know it's an anomalous event, but time travel is still really setting-breaking. Unless time travel is a major theme of the story, I'd rather not have it even once. Like, I'd be terrified of the implications if I learned that there was a time-traveler in our universe. Same thing for a fictional one.
>>
>>25271749
Should we make some more stuff for the Merlin? It's forearm and knee hardpoints are taken, but it can still hold more equipment. Shields for the arms, grenade launchers or folding railguns for hip mounts? Verniers, heat swords, or missile/grenade launchers for lower legs? Extra verniers, heavy DODS cannons, long EM cannons, EM Gatling cannons, missile packs, sensor packs, funnels, or incoms for the shoulders?

How about hand weapons? Do we have anything but EM Bullpups and DODS weapons? How about missile launchers? Heavy DODS Rifles? Higher caliber EM weapons?
>>
>>25271808
It's already part of the setting though. Hell, we're using it to get to Mars. And besides, Daiki isn't a time traveller, his father is. And his father went missing in 105 AG fighting the invading Vagan force.

Also, in all honesty it's more the chance to meet Daiki and hang out on the Treasure Star then anything else. And with all the crazy shit and changing of the timeline we pull in these threads, THIS is where you go: "Nope, disbelief ruined."
>>
We should make something that allows us to notice cloaked units, first. Maybe make something that'd allow us to be cloaked as well.
Second, develop advanced shielding against beams. The Vagans are only using those things, besides melee weaponry and maybe bits.
Third, all the suits should be reequipped with EM weaponry, considering how it's most effective. And the various ammo types.
Finally, develop anti-X-Rounder tech that doesn't hamper our X-Rounders.
>>
>>25271918
Yes. It is. Because every other crazy shit we've done has made sense in a causal universe. Treasure Star doesn't. Daiki himself might not be a time traveler, but he wouldn't exist without a non-linear concept of time. And we don't know that's how we're getting to Mars. We just know that we're using some manner of fast, stealthy propulsion system that could potentially mess with physics. There are all sorts of conceptual space drives that could do that. Just let me pretend, man. I know what's implied, but just let me pretend this quest isn't weakly acausal.
>>
>>25272037
-with the capture of Zeheart's MS, new sensors should be available soon. AGE-2 Artimes Wear should be close to buildable

-current beam shielding tech is anti-beam coating, EM-Field tech, and 1st gen beam shield tech.

-Current EM Rifles still work well. Maybe build bigger caliber railguns? Make sure EM Rifles have underslung grenade launchers. Bazookas with seeker warheads could work too.

-Not sure how Crosswire will handle anti-X-Rounder tech. X-Jammers? NT-D style Funnel-jackers?
>>
Is the Core Block System a thing in AGE? Because I could see an ejection pod that can still fight being pretty damn useful.
>>
>>25271616
>-Mars team needs power armor. Give Jake beam shield data, current beam/EM weapon data, and red MS as well.

Jake takes a copy of all the data you have up to this point, including a copy of the NanoTech and the G-Bike Armor idea which he compliments you on.

Dirk begins to pump out a custom EM Rifle some the AGE-2 to use and preps it's shield for a beam shield upgrade.

Scarlet makes sure that extra materials are ordered and ready for all the ships.

>>25271587
Itself? No it's not all the special. Madorna had it lying around and Dad decided to grab it to install his experimental system in. The experimental Anti-X-Rounder system. He did this because it's VERY sensitive and putting it in the Crusader would be a very, very bad idea.

>>25271916
There's only so much you can develop in 24 hours. There's room on the shoulders for bits/funnels, plenty of room on the back, legs, hips and feet for weapon/equipment modules for the Merlin Gundam.

Not at the moment EM Bullpumps, DODS Rifles and some fixed missile launcher pods are all you have. A new DODS Rifle and a "Lancer" Type EM weapon still require data to develop but there are probably other weapons you could make with the AGE Builder.

Anything else?
>>
>>25272349
Could we make an X-Rounder-seeking target system? If they're emitting X-waves, we could probably use that for a target lock. Do it for a missile system and you could have a projectile that precognition can't dodge. That could be fun to throw at X-Rounders who weren't expecting it.
>>
>>25272179
>he wouldn't exist without a non-linear concept of time
Or if Novikov's self-consistency principle is firmly in effect. In layman's terms, anything you do with time travel will only result in the events happening exactly as they happened "before" you traveled back in time, because you already traveled back in time.
>>
>>25272402
Prod Jake to tell us about the ship, since he promised to tell us when we got teams decided.
>>
>>25272445
Jake takes his kids aside, along with Asemu and makes sure no one else is around or listening.

"Dad what's the big deal about this ship?" Scarlet asks.

"Yeah, if it's so awesome and powerful why haven't you used it before?" Asemu asks.

"It's complicated..." Jake scratches the back of his head.

"How complicated?" You ask.

Jake takes a deep breath and says "Because that ship is the reason I exist..."

(Well, I'm off for tonight guys! See you tomorrow at 4:00)

Ohohohoho.

"Lancer-type EM weapon", eh? Gives me a slightly crazy idea: Excalibuster Mk 2. Instead of being beam-based like the original, it would be heat and EM based. Replace the beam emitter edge with a heat edge, based on data from old Genoace heat spikes and new Vagan heat wires. Replace the beam rifle with a long-barreled EM weapon. It could work better against current Vagan armor. Not sure anyone but Jake and maybe Scarlet would use it though.

>>25272537
See ya tomorrow!
>>
>>25272537
Okay, now I don't know what to think. You've gotten quite good at cliffhangers lately, Crosswire. And I like it just as much as I hate it. I mean, what? Are we aliens? Are we the result of time-travelers or dimension-hoppers deliberately altering AGE's timeline? Is the ship the Chouginga Dai-Gurren and Jake really IS young Lordgenome? Curse your tempting ways, Crosswire! At least you know how to keep the audience wanting more.
>>
>>25272810
Why thank you! I'm glad your excited and wanting to know more, it's exactly what I was aiming at!
>>
>>25272810
Maybe the ship just saved Jake's life at one point. Maybe threw some cybernetic augmentations at him.
Or we're about to meet parallel universe Jake who goes by Lordgenome. Or we run into Arthur who is old Jake.
We'll see tomorrow.
>>
>>25272705
still waiting for that Excalibur Mk 2 super size idea to actually happen. How many age builders would they need lined up end to end to flash forge that thing?

And I'm hoping that the Crusader Mk II looks like this.
>>
>>25273028
As cool as that design is (it's on my list of "shit in Anima that I like") it really doesn't fit Gundam's aesthetic at all.
>>
>>25273028
And now I'll be spending the time until the next thread wondering if the ship is the AAA Wunder. The secret of this quest is that Jake is Shinji. Gundam AGE is actually Rebuild 5.0.
>>
>>25273156
Oh please, it would be a new Super Robot Wars game.
>>
>>25273260
That would be a much better way to bridge the two, yes. Especially if Elzam and Sanger were around. There's no way for Evangelion to go wrong if Shinji has those two to teach him the meaning of manly mecha piloting.
>>
>>25273156
How can Jake be Shinji? Jake is awesome. If anything, Jake probably saved the Shinji of this timeline.
Maybe this gets weirder and that ship is Chouginga Dai-Gurren of this universe. Arthur is the Spiral Nemesis.
>>
>>25273353
No no, Shinji learns awesome from Kouji Kabuto after getting a Bright Slap. Haven't you payed F? He even says "Not even my father hits me!" after the slap.
