Rich is comforting Saori as she's on the verge of tears. "I-I'll be ruined for marriage!" She howls, burying her face in her hands.

You are the commander of the M26 Pershing Tank Black Jack, and you're still largely in the dark as to what this "Anglerfish Dance" is. You and the rest of your crew are making last minute adjustments and maintainance to Black Jack as you prepare to have him transported to the battlefield. The exhibition battle against St. Glorianna's Academy for Girls would begin at noon and a tie would be called if there was no decisive winner by eight that night.

"So wait... I'm still not getting what this is all about..." You say, genuinely confused. "It's just a goofy little dance, right? How is that a problem?"Saori looks up at you. She opens her mouth to say something before she bursts into tears. Rich rubs her shoulders, trying to comfort her. You are even more confused now.

>"Get your game face on- if we win today you won't have to worry about it."
>"Saori, shouldn't you be helping the rest of your crew get ready?"
>"Hey Rose, think a goofy dance would ruin you for marriage?"

British Tanker quote goes better with the Britaboo characters than with Kampfgruppe Miho.
>>
You grab a 90mm shell from Patrick, handing it off to Rose who then hands it down the gunner's hatch to Roy. "You know, Saori, you only have to do whatever the hell that is if you lose." You're handed anothe shell and repeat the process, glaring at Rich in the hope that he'll get back to work. "I think it might be productive to, instead of crying and worry about it, figure out the best way of making sure it doesn't happen."

She looks up at you, eyes still red from crying. "R-really?"

"Everyone does their jobs and you won't even have to think about doing the Anglerfish Dance." You promise. It might be a bit premature, but she needs to be thinking of today's battle, not next week's embarassment.

Her face toughens up. "Right! We'll do our best then!" She says with a strong nod before running back to Miho's Panzer IV, ready to help.

Rose looks down at you. "You really think they've got a chance today?" She asks quietly.

You watch Saori help the rest of her crew with gusto. "Doesn't matter. She'll fight all the harder as long as she thinks she does." You say, perhaps a bit more grimly than you thought you were being. You look back up Rose. "So, think a goofy dance would ruin you for marriage?" You say with a wide grin.

"No more so than being seen with you clowns already has." She says without missing a beat.

Dat Hugo Boss
>>
>>25271170
Hugo Boss started his clothing company in 1924 in Metzingen, a small town south of Stuttgart, where it is still based. However, due to the economic climate in Germany at the time, Boss was forced into bankruptcy. In 1931, he reached an agreement with his creditors, leaving him with six sewing machines to start again. The same year, he became a member of the National Socialist party and a sponsoring member ("Förderndes Mitglied") of the Schutzstaffel (SS) therefore was economically raised due to their help. [9] He later stated himself that he had joined the party because of their promise to end unemployment and because he felt "temporarily" withdrawn from the Lutheran church.[9] He joined the German Labour Front in 1936, the Reich Air Protection Association in 1939, and the National Socialist People's Welfare in 1941.[9] His sales increased from 38,260 RM in 1932 to over 3,300,000 RM in 1941, while his profits increased in the same period from 5,000 RM to 241,000 RM.[9] Though he claimed in a 1934/1935 advertising that he had been a "supplier for National Socialist uniforms since 1924", such supplies are probable since 1928/1929 and certain since 1934, when he became an Reichszeugmeisterei-licensed (official) supplier of uniforms to the Sturmabteilung, Schutzstaffel, Hitler Youth, National Socialist Motor Corps, and other party organizations.[9] To meet demand in later years of the war, Boss used about 30 to 40 prisoners of war and about 150 forced (i.e. slave) labourers, from the Baltic States, Belgium, France, Italy, Austria, Poland, Czechoslovakia, and the Soviet Union.[9] According to German historian Henning Kober, the company managers were "avowed Nazis", "the Boss were all great admirers of Adolf Hitler", and Hugo Boss himself had in 1945 in his apartment a photograph of himself with Hitler taken in the latter's Obersalzberg retreat.[10]

As you look down the tank line-up, you notice several brightly colored flags fluttering in the breeze. They are attached to the StuG. Yeah, no. "Alright, keep loading the tank, guys." You slide down off the tank to the ground. "Need to go talk some sense into our tank destroyer before they get themselves killed."

You jog down towards the already garishly painted StuG. "Hey. Yeah! HEY! ERWIN!" You call out, getting one of the commanders' attention.

She salutes and crawls down from the top of the StuG's superstructure. She's got a smug grin. "What do you think? When we shoot, they'll know exactly who knocked them out!" She brags, patting the side of the self-propelled gun.

"Yeah, about that..." You start. "Are the flags absolutely necessary?"

She nods. "Absolutely. We've written inspirational phrases on them! What do you think?"

My maternal Grandfather was a navyman. I know he was stationed on a destroyer, possibly in the Mediterranean, but beyond that, I don't know anything about him, as he died when I was a little kid.

My paternal grandfather was a (I believe) Master Sergeant in the Air Force back in the 60's.

So, as much as I respect the both of them for serving, I know that feel

"Erwin. We're going to be setting up an ambush." You say, pinching the bridge of your nose before you realise exactly how you need to phrase this. It really is devious in it's simplicity. "Right, would Rommel put flags on his tanks if he wanted to take the British by surprise?"

She seems taken aback momentarily, but then nods in understanding. "You're right!" She turns and hollars to Saemonza, who's attaching the last flag. "Hey! He says we need to stow the flags!"

She shrugs as she begins unbolting them. "Told you they weren't a good idea." She mutters.

Oryou's head pops up from the hatch. "But I worked all night on them!" She says, hurt.

"I know, keep them in the tank and we'll use them later!" She says and you almost miss a devious grin on her face.

Short answer: No.
Long answer: Hell no.

As you make your way back towards Black Jack, you see Miho standing in front of her Panzer IV. As you pass, she turns and looks at you. "Do you really think we can win this?" She asks quietly.

"Today?" You shrug. "Maybe? It's their first real taste of combat against real opponents." You look up at Saori and Yukari loading ammunition- Saori clearly giving it her all and seeming to exhaust even the inexhaustable Yukari. "On way or another they're gonna learn just how hard this game is. Did you ever find out what the deal is with this Anglerfish Dance?" You ask, attempting to switch the subject to something a little lighter.

She shakes her head. "When I mentioned it to Saori she got really upset- Hana had a double breakfast this morning she was so worried." She shudders. "Even Yukari refuses to give any details- she just started talking about the range and penetration values of the T-34."

You're actually a bit spooked at this point. Yukari is quite possibly the most gregarious person you know. She literally gives zero damns about anything that isn't tanks- if she won't even talk about the Anglerfish dance... What is Anzu trying to do to these girls?!

"Well, just keep your crew focused." You sat, patting her on the back. "We're gonna win this fight- it won't be pretty, it won't be elegant, but we've got it. Alright?" You say, trying to encourage the girl. "Alright?" You repeat.

She nods. "Right." She affirms, steeling her face. "We're going to win."

"Make sure your crew knows it." You say. "Make sure everyone knows it. We're going to win today and we're never going to hear about the Anglerfish Dance again. Unless some other poor sod is doing it." You say with a big grin.

That's the neat thing about confidence- it doesn't matter how much you have so much as how much everyone else thinks you have. You know just how thin your chances are- underperforming tanks, inexperienced and unpracticed crews and a class President who seems desperate to destroy what little confidence these girls had left.

Miho knows too, but the rest of the team is looking at both of you, so you'll have to put on a brave face and lie to their faces- they are unstoppable warriors and nothing can defeat them.

You check your watch as you get back to Black Jack- the rest of the ammunition has been loaded, the turret has been reversed and the gun locked. "Alright, mount up. We've gotta be at the loading dock in fifteen." You yell, climbing up onto the tank. All down the line, the other crews are doing the same.

You adjust your jacket, plug in your headset as the engine rumbles to life. "Richard, roll out."
