You roll to the side as a different wolf hollow launches itself at you and tries to bite down on your mask, but your MASSIVE CRAB ARM stops him and you bat him aside before launching a cero of your own at the beast, catching his leg and blowing it away.

You flail wildly, kicking and spinning and screaming as you fire ceros randomly in all directions. By all accounts you shouldn't hit. By all rights, you should be dead. But something strange happens, you hit. You manage to score a glancing blow on Sid which takes his feet from under him as a rain of spikes somehow managed to miss you. The monkey hollow tries to catch you, but something catches his leg and drags him into the sand, a small geyser of blood erupting from the sand as you stab into the dog Hollow with the crab arm.

Everything seems to fall perfectly into place as you perform the strangest movements which no trained fighter would even dream of. It is around the point you are using your "windmill attack" and spinning your arms around to hit the body of a rat hollow that you realize everyone is already dead.

You use the pincers of the crab arm to sever your enemies heads and then walk over to Sid the Squid as Charlotte crawls out of the sand and Jäger climbs out from behind his dune.

As for the other thing, more human-like emotion and cognition wouldn't be out of place for a VL or an arrancar. Grimmjow had immense pride, Nel was like a little kid half the time, Nnoitra had selfishness and ambition, Starrk had loneliness, and Harribel was protective of her subordinates (leaning more toward the maternal than the possessive). So for now a lot of things should be off the table outright, but later on a little more lenience wouldn't be amiss.

We never saw most of the Espada back when they were adjuchas, but Grimmjow and his crew seemed to at least have had SOME complexity to them. Grimmjow himself seemed particularly brooding.

Maybe that sort of cognitive process is what allows a hollow to reach VL? Maintaining an ego as a Gilliam is the key to becoming and adjuchas, after all.
