Predator Quest: Episode 30

You are Three-Claw, a Yautja hunter of the Cloud Viper clan. You have been tasked by your clan Matriarch to investigate breaches of forbidden knowledge by clan Weyland on the planet Fey'lenn, or Pandora, as it is known in the human tongue.

You glance at your sensors while fending off the remaining fighters. More contacts light up in the distance, including something larger, possibly a capital ship. You're running out of time.

"We need to make a run for it soon." Steel-Arrow tells you.

"Burning-Scythe?"

"I heard. We'll move on your mark."

You look around. There are only five enemy fighters left. The dropships are making a run for the surface. You glance at Steel-Arrow. He's busy fending off two fighters on his tail.

Do you:

A. Continue dealing with the fighters (DC: Medium-Easy)
B. Go after the dropships before they release whatever it is they're carrying. (DC: Medium)

>>B. Go after the dropships before they release whatever it is they're carrying. (Pass, DC:11)

You ignore the fighters and dive straight for the dropships. You shred two of them before they reach the ground. The remaining two attempt to pull up, but you have them square in your sights. Your gatling-cannon roars briefly, and the third goes down in flames. The fourth and last dropship, in an act of desperation, opens its cargo bay. Two exo-suits tumble out and smash in the surface below.

You look up. Steel-Arrow has destroyed one of his pursuers. There are only four left, but more are on the way, and you can't afford to tangle with endless reinforcements. You glance at your long range sensors. You detect LIDAR beams going active in a 1200 km circle all around you. Weyland is activating their SAM sites.

Do you:

A. Tell Burning-Scythe to take off and hug the ground, avoiding the AA.

>.B. Tell Burning-Scythe to take off and go into a vertical climb.

"Go!" You tell Burning-Scythe. "Now's our chance. Climb hard, climb fast. We'll take out anything that gets behind you."

He acknowledges, and you see his ship decloak and lift off. Steel Arrow banks to follow, and takes down two enemy fighters as he goes.

You wait until the two of them are clear, and swing your craft around. You select your fission torpedo, and depress the trigger.

The warhead streaks through the air and slams right into the top of the facility. You twist your ship around and gun the throttle. A brilliant white flash hits your visors, forcing them to close momentarily.

The island cracks audibly and quakes the air around you. You watch as it crumbles from within by the force of the explosion. Whatever force holding it aloft seems to die as large chunks of the floating island begin to peel and fall.

"Good bloody riddance," you hear Mickey mutter.

"That got their attention!" Steel-Arrow yells.

You glance at your sensors. Four destroyers are beginning to shift their position in orbit, possibly heading towards you. Then, there's the matter of the high atmospheric mine field.

Do you:

A. Have Burning-Scythe wait while you and Steel-Arrow clear a path through the mine field. (DC: Medium)
B. Try cloaking your way through it, as you did coming in. (DC: Hard)
C. Have you and Steel-Arrow take the vanguard and shield with your point defences while Burning-Scythe follows close behind. (DC: Medium-hard)

C. Have you and Steel-Arrow take the vanguard and shield with your point defences while Burning-Scythe follows close behind. (Fail, vs. DC 14.)

You bring your ship into formation with Steel-Arrow's. "Get behind us, and keep that ship steady!" You tell Burning-Scythe.

"As best I can," he tells you.

"Ready?" You ask Steel-Arrow, as you maximize your throttle.

"Let's plow the way," he answers.

The pair of you scream through the atmosphere at an almost vertical climb. You gain speed as the air pressure around you drops. The first layer of mines hover into view.

Your point defence turrets flare and engage. Plasma bolts slice through the incoming mines. As you climb, you realize the mine field is denser than you expected.

Suddenly, you see an explosion flash on your left. And a second.

"I'm hit!" Steel-Arrow roars. You can hear the audible warning of alarm sounding though his cockpit.

A mine slams into your right side and detonates. Your entire craft shakes, but otherwise holds together.

You see a third explosion impact Steel-Arrow's ship.

The comms become interlaced by static. "My engine... shredded. Don't think... make it."

>>B. Move your craft in front of his to shield him, and continue to ascend. (Critical Success)

You grit your jaw. "Keep her steady!" You shout. You give every bit of power you can to your engines and bank left to position yourself in front of Steel-Arrow.

Your point defenses strain as it now needs to track mines from both sides, but it holds.

You ascend steadily through the exploding metallic rain. Two more mines slam into your ship. Ablative armor peels and burns away with each hit.

What seems to be an eternity later, you burst through the mine field and sail into the calm space beyond.

"What's the damage?"

"My left engine's gone. Reactor's bleeding plasma, but otherwise fine."

"Foldspace engine?"

"At the rate we're bleeding plasma, I'm not sure. Will give it a shot."

You say to Burning-Scythe. "Ashen-Blade?"

"Pod is steady. Still working. It doesn't look good. Even if it extracts the infestation, there may be permanent damage. Three-Claw, we need to get him home, but at this rate, I don't think he'll make the six days journey."

In the distance you see the human destroyers close in.

"Fold," you order. You power up the foldspace drive and engage. The three of you are on the way home.

Do you:

A. Ask Burning-Scythe about Ashen-Blade's status.

"How's your ship holding up?" You ask Steel-Arrow.

"It's holding. Foldspace is draining power fast, but it's steady. Would like to set down somewhere and get some repairs going."

You acknowledge, and check in with Burning-Scythe.

"What do you need?" You ask Burning-Scythe.

"A full medical facility, and a skilled surgeon. But it's not likely he'll make it. The pod can only do so much. We need a surgeon to operate on him. I can put him in cryo, but considering the stage of the infestation, I think it may do more harm than good."

"You have experience treating wounds on a warship. Can you operate on him?"

"I'm not qualified. But I can try."

"We're out of options."

"There is one... I can forcibly lase the infestation out, but it's latched onto a good section of his central nervous system. He'll be paralysed, if I succeed."

Mickey turns to you, and shows you a data slate. It's a galactic map. He zooms in on a section of space near you. "Station. Marines. My people. Big medical facility. Experience. Xenomorph. Can help. Friends. Mine."

You punch the coordinates into your nav calculator. It's half a day of travel.

You take a moment to think about your options.

Do you:

A. Ask Burning-Scythe to put him in cryo.
B. Ask Burning-Scythe to try his best to operate on him. (DC: Very Hard)
C. Make the call and have Burning-Scythe lase out the infestation.

You come to a decision.

"Divert course here," you tell your teammates, as you pass them Mickey's coordinates.

You emerge from foldspace 10 hours later over a small planet. Your sensors tell you it's a human colony, with a population of a few hundred thousand. Three destroyer-sized warships hang in orbit. They have "USMC" marked on the side.

Mickey turns to you. "Hail. I speak."

You open up a comms beam with the lead destroyer.

You hear a gruff human voice respond. "What the hell. This had better not be a joke. Who is this?"

"Captain Flanner, it's Mickey Rourke."

"Well I'll be. The hero who saved my colony. It's been a long time Sarge. We'd all be dead if it weren't for you. That's a funny looking ship you've got there."

"Not mine, Cap. But these are friendlies. One of them needs medical attention."

He hesitates for a moment. "I'll need some ID on your ships. I can't match their signatures to any in the database."

"Right. And you won't be able to. Remember on my report in the defence of the colony?Remember the extraterrestrial ally who helped me hold the xenos off?"

"That's them?"

"Yeah. And one of them is hurt. Bad. We owe him, Cap."

"Yeah, suppose we do. Shit. Don't suppose I can get you guys to power down your weapons."

Mickey looks at you.

Do you:

A. Agree to divert reactor power away from your weapons systems and retract your plasma turrets.
B. Disagree, and maintain your weapons power.

You divert reactor power away from your weapons systems and retract your plasma turrets, and ask your teammates to do the same.

"Right. Thanks. Set'em down at the space port. I'll have a medical team waiting."

Mickey directs you to a landing zone on the surface, next to what looks to be a large military garrison.

You adjust your course and begin to make the descent.

You touch your ships down on top of the pad, and lower the ramp.

You exit, to see a large number of human soldiers pointing a variety of weapons at you.

A short distance away, you see Seeking-Eye's targeting beam power up in response.

Their leader steps forward. "Right. Put your weapons on the ground. We'll treat your wounded, but we can't take any risks of you shooting our colonists up," he tells you.

Do you:

A. Agree, and place your weapons on the ground.

Mickey step forward in front of you.

"Colonel, look, that's not gonna go well with these guys. It's a... okay, it's a cultural thing. They don't put down their weapons, and they don't shoot anyone who doesn't shoot back. "I agree. But they must also hold their bargain."

"They will," Mickey tells you. He turns to the Colonel. "They agree. Look, one of these guys helped defend this colony. Come on."

The Colonel squints his eyes, and waves his hand. " At ease, men. We're marines. We pay our debts. Doc, do your thing." The marines hesitantly lower their weapons.

A few men step aside to make way for a dozen or so humans dressed in white. The female, dragging a gurney, leads them. "Who's hurt?" she asks Mickey.

Burning-Scythe exits the ship, bringing Ashen-Blade's surgical pod out with him. He presses a few switches, and the cover slides open.

The female human rushes up and examines Ashen-Blade. "Advanced stage of xenomorph infestation. Stabilized, but not excised." She turns to her team. "Go. Set up the bio lab. Get Doctor Hartmann." She points to Burning-Scythe. "You! carry that pod and follow me."

Burning-Scythe glances at you, and follow.

The doctor turns to Mickey.

"I've read about his species. I'm reasonably certain I can help him, but the infestation has had too much time to latch onto him. I can't promise a full recovery."

You proceed to follow. The marines part and allow you to pass. Mickey trails close behind.

You stop outside a large and well furnished surgical room, as watch as Burning-Scythe lifts the unconscious Ashen-Blade from the surgical pod and lay him down on a large operating table.

Several humans begin their work. You wait tensely.

Suddenly, you see the Colonel storm towards you.

He turns to Mickey. "We've got a problem. Pirates!"

He stuffs a data-slate into Mickey's hands. Mickey glances at it briefly. "Pirates my ass. Those are Wey U ships. Where are they?"

"In a standoff with our destroyers. The Captain is having trouble holding them off. They've managed to sneak a few dozen dropships through him, en route to the surface. I'm ordering a civilian evac from the outer farms.

B

The Marine's duty is to protect the colonists.

Because they are helping us, the colonists are in danger.

Thus, honor demands we protect the colonists.
>>
We really need to find a rogue Ai that we can recruit to our team to pilot our ship as top cover when we are on the ground
>>
>>25336451

>>
>>25336373
>.B. Help deal with the forces that have landed on the planet.

You open a comms to your team. "Steel-Arrow! How's your ship?"

"Grounded, until I can get this reactor patched."

"Right. Take Ashen-Blade's. We've got inbound in orbit. Sharp-Strike, take mine. Follow Steel-Arrow. I'll deal with the ground f..."

You're interrupted by a massive series of quakes. Dust spalls from the ceiling and one of the pipes along the wall snaps in half, billowing gas.

"Artillery!" You hear someone shout. "Get down!"

Another quake shakes your footing.

The Colonel rushes over and taps the glass window to the operating chamber. "You need to get him down to the bunker, NOW!"

"Negative, Colonel. We're at a critical juncture. I move him, he dies."

"I'll take that risk. Get to safety!" He roars.

"Can't do that," she responds calmly, absorbed in her work. Another quake hits the facility.

A young lieutenant rushes over. "Gunships are taking off again. They're firing missiles at us. We've also got reports from the outer farms of... xenomorphs moving into the sewer systems."

"Xenomorphs? Oh hell," the Colonel mutters.

He flips the data-slate over. "More dropships are breaking through."

"You got any good news, kid?"

The young marine shakes his head. "No sir."

Do you:

A. Tell Steel-Arrow and Sharp-Strike to patrol the airspace around the garrison.
B. Tell Steel-Arrow and Sharp-Strike to intercept the inbound dropships.
C. Tell Steel-Arrow and Sharp-Strike to help drive off the Weyland fleet.
>>
>>25336520
A. If this garrison takes any direct hits Ashen-Blade is dead.
>>
>>25336520
Tell Steel Arrow and Sharp Strike to handle the dropships, tell Colonel Jiggles we'll handle the Xenomorphs.
>>
>>25336520
A?

Also I was unaware that WY had enough pull to be THIS brazen.

B. Dropships, THEN gunships.

WY is essentially the East India Trading Company in space. You'd be surprised at the kind of shit they can get away with.
>>

C. We can't just have them patrol. The humans are sacrificing lives for us.
>>
>>25336588
If anything, we'll deal with the Xenomorphs. Humans are kinda shit at killing them.
>>
>>25336550
>>A.

You open the comms and tell Steel-Arrow and Sharp-Strike to patrol the airspace around the garrison. They acknowledge.

The Colonel turns to Mickey. "Who the hell are these guys? We've been having trouble with pirate raids but this is a full goddamn invasion."

"It's Weyland, sir," Mickey explains.

"The corporation? Hell, I know they're practically their own empire, but why the hell would they be after us?"

Mickey looks around. "Wiping evidence. Weapons testing."

"You got any proof of that?"

"Shoot down one of their ships and we'll see."

"Right. Whoever they are, they'll regret fucking with my home."

He turns and hurries off.

Mickey turns to you. "Xenomorphs. They'll shred the colonists to pieces."

Do you:

A. Suggest you hold your position and defend the garrison.
B. Suggest you actively seek them out in the sewer systems and hunt them down.
>>
>>25336642
B. Better to get them in the source. A sewer acts as a good funnel.

Funneled into this narrow corridor, their numbers count for nothing.

Off topic, why is Mickey speaking in Yautja to us? I appreciate the cross-cultural effort, but our mask fluently translates his native language.
>>
>>25336675
...That's a good point.
>>
>>25336675
At first I thought it was a quick way to identify him as an ally. I'd assume not many humans can speak predator. Now I just think he doesn't know we can translate whatever he says.
>>
>>25336688

Well can we tell him? He won't be too happy about that, but I'd rather be speaking my native language in a combat team against Xenomorphs.
>>
>>25336675
Perhaps he's unaware of the translation ability. He might just believe that Ashen-Blade was gifted with languages.
>>
>>25336642

B. You had us at the word hunt.
>>
>>25336661
>>B.

You suggest to Mickey that you should actively seek them out in the sewer systems and hunt them down.

He agrees, and leads you down through a corridor leading to a large garage. Parked inside are several APCs.

Mickey follows a squad of marines as they begin to board one of them. "Hey, Sarge!" One of them greets Mickey.

"This thing going underground, corporal?" He asks.

"Yessir."

"Right. We're hitching a ride then.'

He steps inside. You follow. The ceiling inside is too low for you, and you're forced to duck.

One of the marines slam his fist against his rifle, and remarks "Let's kick some alien ass!" He glances at you. "No offence to you, you giant scary-ass motherfucker."

The APC's engines roar to life.

You find yourself driving through some sort of underground transit system. You hear several audible blips. "Movement!" a marine shouts. The APC slows to a stop, the doors open, and the marines disembark. You follow.

The main passage is well lit, but there are several smaller corridors extending from every junction.

Do you:

A. Stay with the marines as they slowly proceed forward.
B. Run up and scout ahead.

Doctors/healers are in the territory of non-combatants (unless they're also hunters).

You need to kill something and be recognized for it to be blooded. This is usually done on a blooding hunt which is mostly a method of going 'are you going to be a liability when hunting?'.

If you survive, kill something and dont piss off the huntmaster congrats either he will etch his symbol into your forehead or you'll come up with one of your own. Blooding hunts are most often done against xenomorph drones - because while the average drone is no smarter than a dog they make damn good prey.
>>
>>25336798

You take a few leaps and begin to run forward, scanning the surroundings with your visor as you go.

You sense movement ahead. You stop, crouch, and zoom in. You see several drones moving quickly in your direction. At first, it's difficult to count their number, but as they get closer, you see there are at least thirty of them. Their glossy head carries a tint of blue - it must be a new strain from Fey'lenn, you gather.

You instinctively thumb your mine dispenser. You have five mines left.

Do you:

A. Lay down the remainder of your mines and retreat to the marines.
B. Fight a running battle and try to take out as many as you can while retreating. (DC: Medium)
C. Stand your ground and try to take them all on. (DC: Hard)

We pass, vs. DC 11.

>>B. Fight a running battle and try to take out as many as you can while retreating. (Pass, DC 11)

You lay your targeting beam into the mass and fire. Your plasma-caster whines and disgorges one bolt after another. You snap off as many shots as you can before the gap closes, and you're forced to sprint away.

You continue firing as you run. Several screech and drop from the ceiling as they're hit. Others leap from wall to wall in an attempt to dodge your shots.

You manage to take down at least eight or nine before catching sight of the marines. Mickey shouts an order, and the marines form a neat gun line with discipline.

They open fire. Aimed shots pass over your heads to the hard-meat behind you. The screeching intensifies. You reach the APC and slide into cover beside it. Its auto-cannons twitch, and begin to chatter at a steady pace of two rounds per second. The drone horde begins to thin under the withering fire.

Suddenly, they disperse, and disappear into a nearby passage.

Do you:

A. Leave the APC and chase after them.
B. Hold your ground, and proceed slowly.
>>
>>25337001
They're fine as long as things go according to plan, but if the xenos catch them off guard it can turn in to a bloodbath very quickly since they have little answer once inside melee range.

Its also not uncommon for them to have morale issues against the xenos, since not every Colonial Marine is a rock-chewing whiskey-chugging hardass.

Honestly, Hudson is probably closer to the norm than Hicks or Vasquez. Confident as long as the lights are on and the xenos are safely in his arc of fire, but when the lights go out and they start coming through the walls...
>>
>>25337048
A) They use simple traps without leaders... and the first part in avoiding a trap is knowing that its there. We want trophies damnit.

What's the effective range on a queen anyway? Does she need to be within a few miles, a continent, or just somewhere on planet?
>>

Generally its a hive based function. So a few miles, with drones getting dumber the further they are from the queen.
>>
>>25337048
A

We've thinned their numbers, lets run them down before they pull something tricky.

>>25337075
>Xeno's only get really smart when there's a queen.

I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Wey-Yu used a captive Queen as a C&C node. If they've reached the point of deploying xenos shock troopers it wouldn't be a huge stretch, the increased efficiency would be worth it to them. Not to mention the ability to recover surviving xenos after the battle, which would be nearly impossible if they were feral.
>>
>>25337048
A. I think us scouting ahead of the humans is a good strategy

You scramble around just in time to deflect a tail swipe from the second warrior.

You notice the second beast charging towards you. You twist, and with a roar, batter him aside with the body of the first beast. You charge forward and slam both against the wall. You rip your blades free, and despite the pain from your injuries, decapitate both with one swing.

Your breathing becomes ragged as the adrenaline leaves you. Your shoulder and back flares in pain, but you suppress the hurt and look down the passage way.

The band of drones you were chasing are long gone by now. Suddenly, you hear sporadic gunfire towards the main passage. You turn and begin to head towards it.

The colonists are under a full-scale assault from WY, and it's pretty unlikely that the corporation would just stop attacking once we leave. So the colony will have to be evacuated anyway, they're fucked and they know it. I believe yautja honor mandates we help them evacuate. And in exchange, we wipe their databanks.
>>
>>25337416

They already know all of that, we're hardly the first Yaukta humanity has encountered at this point. Hell, some Yaukta helped defend the colony from the last Xeno infestation. But more importantly, they're at the very least enemies of our enemy WY. At the moment, that outweighs any indirect technology leak. And we're certainly not gonna respond to their cooperation and assistance by wiping out their planet.

Even in pragmatic terms, these colonists are a layer of ablative bodies and gunfire between us and Weyland. They're sheltering and helping Ashen-Blade, in the same way as a medpod would. There's no sense in wrecking the medpod when it's treating a patient, and there's no sense in turning on the colonists when they're assisting our cause.
>>
the very fact that some of you want to wipe out this whole colony who is under attack only because of us, and are still defending us...

what the fuck is wrong with you
>>
>>25337580
No. But they get all the information they need to get that same info BACK to other planets to then perform testing, readying countermeasures, and genetic information to make anti pred bioweapons.

Survival of the fittest. They aren't our species.
>>
>>25337584
No, we don't do it at all. because doing it would be retarded. It would fuck over ashen-blades credibility, it would fuck up our word of honor and it's completely sociopathic and there's no reason to actually do it aside from a small number of screaming retards who want to be sociopathic murderhobos.
>>
>>25337595
It's cause some people think Yuatja are some edgy-only race that can only solve problems by killing people.
>>
>>25337575
HOW WILL THEY GET OUR TECHNOLOGY?

We have not given them our technology.

We are specifically on the lookout for them messing with our stuff, just in case.

If they try to steal our technology, then they are no longer acting in good faith and we waste them. But they haven't tried to do that, nor have they shown any indication that they intend to do so.
>>
>>25337599
THEY ARENT TOUCHING ASHEN BLADES WEAPONS IDIOT. THEY AREN'T GOING TO DO ANY FUCKING WEAPONS TESTS OR ANY CLONING OR ANYTHING AT ALL. QUIT BEING A FUCKING RETARD.
>>
>>25337595
AFTER we get things sorted out.

Besides, in canon predators aren't helpful helpers to humanity. They hunt them for sport. Unless it's a mission, in which case they kill them ruthlessly.

At the moment? We're on a mission.
>>
>>25337586
> The most they could conceivably get is some genetic information from Ashen-Blade, which Wey-Yu probably already has

THIS. They had him in their facility and had implanted him with a facehugger for fuck's sake, you don't think they've got enough samples to clone a fucking predalien army by now?

Holy shit, they're probably doing it as we speak.
>>
>>25337601
I'm sure it won't matter anyway. When and if the decision has to be made, I'm sure the majority will not decide to destroy the whole colony

You are all being trolled.

>>25337606

WHO SAYS? We left Ashen Blade alone with the doctor. And don't we also have a ship grounded on the landing pad because of damage?

Our tech is open to any human that gets opportunistic. We don't have guards on that tech. We can't take this risk.
>>
>>25337610
So therefore we should just let everyone ever have the genetic info because fuck, one person has it, why bother trying to protect it? While we're at it, let's give them plasma tech so they can fight WY better too! We can all be pals, everyone can be blooded, and everything can be hunky fucking dory.

Glass the colony troll is a picture perfect example of "JOKES ON THEM I WAS ONLY PRETENDING TO BE RETARDED".

This.

People want to prance around throwing flower petals because we're dealing with a human sci-fi military, and there is no species, canon, or character that /tg/ won't rigorously twist out of place to play buddy buddy with spess marines.
>>
>>25337628
>We left Ashen Blade alone with the doctor.
No, Burning-Scythe is with him. Because of the fucking Predalien baby.

>don't we also have a ship grounded on the landing pad because of damage?
If anything of any importance goes missing it will be noticed. Its not a fucking pickup truck, a bunch of mexicans can't just run up and strip it for parts while the owner isn't looking.
>>
>>25337639
For thinking in character, I need psychiatric help? Christ, come up with a better argument.
>>
>>25337638
Three-Claw is not one to break promises. We promised that we would not harm the colonists, so we won't. It's that simple.

You really don't want to destroy our only human allies. Keeping the humans divided keeps them weak, and unable to strike against us. Backstabbing the colony would make us an unquestionable enemy, and stain our honor forever.
>>
>>25337644
I don't even care that they're space marines. You don't wipe out people who have your back especially in difficult times
>>
>>25337644
Thank god there's somebody else here that isn't all up on predator on marine loving.
>>
>>25337644
OP isn't really following canon strictly anyways. If he was, Naavi wouldn't have existed.
>>
>>25337644
We're not twisting it out of canon at all. Yaujta *have* worked with colonial marines before. They've also killed them when necessary, but as an intelligent species you don't fuck over a friends reputation or credibility with allies he has built after they have helped them.

>>25337655
You need psychiatric help for being a sociopath. Yaujta are an intelligent species - we're not breaking our word to these people because we respect ashen blade who has a *very good relationship with them*. Glassing them doesn't just ruin our honor - it ruins his too.
>>
If we really need the colony destroyed, WY will take care of that with no problem. If news of this gets out among the human clans, they will turn on the corporation and weaken it. If we destroy the colony, WY can use the evidence from our weapons impacts to rally humans to them, against the yautja.

You don't seem to understand.

If they fuck with us, we go full RIP AND TEAR and leave no survivors. Not a single person is debating that.

But they have not fucked with us.

They have provided medical care to our comrade.

They have fought to protect us from our enemies, rather than simply throwing us to the wolves.

Mickey, who Ashen-Blade trusts and we have fought shoulder-to-shoulder with, has vouched for them.

And most importantly, we gave an oath on our honor not to start butchering them unless they gave us cause.
>>
>>25337660
After our agreement comes to a close, we either do this, or we go back home and have to face some seriously stern questions.
>>
>>25337676
Yes. Because actions recommended in game mean that I'm a sociopath. This is a roleplaying board, right? Do you think that because you roll a barbarian and go diving in dungeons for loot and kill goblins you have to worry about your mental balance?

And honor or no, we have our duty to our species to consider as well. Part of that involves keeping our tech lead, which involves eliminating issues exactly like this one that we're blindly walking in to.
>>
>>25337682
We've faced hard questions before. Ashen Blade hasn't gotten into shit for associating and hunting alongside humans before and for doing things like SAVING A HUMAN COLONY BECAUSE HE APPARENTLY FUCKING FELT LIKE IT.

The precedent for behavior tolerance already exists - there's 0 fucking reason to do shit to these people.
>>
Rolled 10

>>25337700
If you think about the long-run, destroying this colony does immense harm to our species. Weyland will be able to use this incident as proof that Yuatjas are enemies to humanity and will basically have Casus Belli to start an all-out war.
>>
>>25337700
>I really dont understand why backstabbing people we promised not to backstab is being called sociopathic behavior. I killed the merchant because despite my billions of gold I didn't want to pay three copper for my knife.

Ashen blade already sets the standard for yaujta working with humans. Don't give them your tech and things are fine. They're *not* touching his tech and they sure as hell aren't fucking cloning him so there's no reason to attack these people.
>>
>>25337721
It's much easier to deal with humanity if there are fragmented groups, some who are in league with us.

Hell, if we killed every human we came across, Ashen-Blade would be destined for the grave, with no human willing to help him.
>>
>>25337721

Well, they already have casus belli since we nuked their facility.
>>
>>25337739
That's only weyland. Nuking a colony is a slight against the Colonial Marines, a more or less official source of authority for humanity.
>>
>>25337747
So, you think the Colonial Marines aren't moving at WY's beck and call? Cause in that case, there is a movie or two I think you need to see...
>>
>>25337721

Humans are hunted for sport. What you're saying has all the intimidation factor of "if we're not nice to the deer they'll declare war on us."

The Yautja vastly outstrip them in terms of technology, and have little reason to worry unless that gap starts closing.

Honestly, if Three-Claw was that set on fulfilling his promises he maybe should have used looser terms, or something. At the moment not only have we gotten our ass kicked by our -prey-, but we've had to have other prey bail us out against them, and we're going to let those prey escape (potentially with valuable information) because we were too weak to make it on our own.

"Hey, Bill, how did your hunt go? Shoot any rabbits?"

"A few. But I didn't bring many back because they started beating me up, and I had to make friends with these other rabbits so that me and my buddy didn't die. Oh, also, the rabbits are now learning how to make guns."
>>
>>25337760
>Weyland drops bioweapons on colony

>... aaaaaany second now.

You bring critical thinking to a new low.
>>
>>25337739
We nuked a Weyland facility. The rest of humanity doesn't give a damn, because Weyland is basically their own separate nation by this point.

If we start blowing human colonies to bits, the rest of humanity suddenly starts caring. If we glass this facility, all Weyland has to do is make sure there are no survivors, show everyone the gigantic plasma crater where the colony used to be, and suddenly we've got a united humanity out for blood.

Remember that our entire plan hinges on getting the Marines to fight Weyland, which is exactly whats happening right now. We like this status quo.
>>
>>25337787
Hunted, maybe. That would not be a hunt, it would be genocide. We'd dishonor ourselves.
>>
Rolled 4

>>25337787
Do you not remember the thread a while back where we agreed our long-term goal was to fragment humanity and turn public opinion against Weyland?

We don't do that by nuking the first organization that is sympathetic to us.
>>
>>25337760
>So, you think the Colonial Marines aren't moving at WY's beck and call?

Did you forget the part where the plan, which our Matriarch has bet most of her political clout on, involves getting the Marines and Weyland to fight each other on a planetary scale over Pandora, right?
>>
>>25337791
Do you want to ENTIRELY ignore the movies?

Wey-Yu has demonstrated a brazen disregard for peoples lives quite often. Yet, the Colonial Marines still help them out. Why? Because they're a mega corp that can make the government sit up and sing. Money > colonists.

...Unless of course you want to stick with these humans and reform their government as well? Because at this rate, we're going to be starting a human rights campaign.
>>
>>25337818
A plan, yes. But I don't think allying with the marines, much less arming them with our knowledge was part of her plan.

>Humans are hunted for sport.
Because they are the ultimate soft meat. They're incredibly smart tool users that provide a challenge even to the most elite of hunters, even would be clan-leaders underestimate just how intelligent humans are, many in fact think we're barely sentient.

>At the moment not only have we gotten our ass kicked by our -prey-
Yes, because Xenomorphs are the ultimate hard meat. Very, very, very few yaujta manage to kill xenomorph *drones* unarmed, its like a 90% death rate.
>we've had to have other prey bail us out against them
Not really a point of shame, we're in an area with the two deadliest forms of prey around - one is sentient and can be reasoned with. It's like being a lone man with an assault rifle and teaming up with aboriginees against a lion pack out for your blood.

>we're going to let those prey escape (potentially with valuable information) because we were too weak to make it on our own.
No, we're going to let them walk away with a few steel knives because they saved the life of our friend (who works among and with them often) because a poisonous snake bit him. You dont murder people for doing you favors.

Try to make less flawed analogies.
>>
>>25337824
And yet once those marines are betrayed they don't go back to sucking weylands cock because 'hurr money' they get pissed, and right now weyland is pulling shit on such a massive scale that we are getting *everything involved to wipe them off the face of the map*. IE no more weyland ever.

It's like your completely ignoring everything in the setting up until this point. Quit being an idiot.
>>
>>25337824
You're way behind the timeline.

Weyland doesn't need to spend ludicrous amounts of money bribing the Marines anymore. They have their own private army and space fleet. They are a separate nation-state in all but name.

Hence why we've never fought the Colonial Marines before, and why the Marines are currently fighting Weyland tooth and nail, and why the end goal of our plan is to maneuver the Marines into a confrontation with Weyland on a large scale.

If the Marines were in Wey-Yu's pocket not only would we be dead right now, but our Matriarch's plan would have been dead in the water from the very beginning.
>>
>>25337875
The grunts get pissed.

Their brass on the other hand, don't. Look beyond local individuals. The soldiers here will get transferred out, diffused, and brought out of any range to support us. The replacements that come to their colonies will have no idea that they're supposed to be BFFs with the invisible Jamaican stabbers, and will be glad to help out fellow humans when they have a distress call.

Anything else would be pure canon breaking nonsense. The universe isn't a place of gumdrops and sunshine.
>>
>>25337824

/tg/ will always side with the space marines. It doesn't matter what setting, what's going on, who you're playing, what your role is supposed to be, or how stupid or contrived it is.

I'm just tired of seeing otherwise unique quests turn into the same tired checklist of "make friends with humans/dwarves/nazis, genocide the elves, get waifus.

Bro, one secret. This quest has it's own canon that exists in head of op.

Just stop. We made a pact, we cannot go back on it.

If you don't like the way the QM runs it you're welcome to do your own. Otherwise quit your bitching, we're not breaking any sort of canon at all, AT ALL. we're also working well within established setting canon.

There are zero benefits to fucking over the marines and plenty of negatives to doing it, it is not even a remotely viable option so stop samefagging it because you are overwhelmingly in the minority.

We were given the option of helping sway the humans to our side, we passed it up in favor of capturing the battlecruiser. The QM introduced the distress signal, the QM introduced mickey, the QM gave us the option of having our friend saved by colonial marines he trusted.

We overall had very little influence on it, and the bit of influence we've had is "We're not breaking our word and being sociopathic murderhobos because we're not oathbreaker badbloods'. Get over it faggot.

Did you miss the part where a human Marine, FROM THIS COLONY, went on a solo sneaking mission to fucking PANDORA just to rescue Ashen-Blade?

I suppose Mickey breaking in to their facility, breaking a bunch of their stuff, assisting in our escape, and bringing us here was all some sort of elaborate plan set up by Weyland? Because humans are clearly universally evil and never to be trusted, especially not when they go out of their way to help you at great risk to themselves.

Probably by hitching a ride on a Wey-Yu ship.

>The train tracks were there the whole time.
We had the option of accompanying Ashen-Blade on his mission. We chose not to.

We had the option of turning down the rescue mission. We chose to take it.

Ashen-Blade is renowned for his good relations with humans. Low and behold, a human turns up to rescue him.

We had multiple alternatives to coming to this colony. We went here because we thought it was a good idea.

So if by "train tracks" you mean we aren't an omnipotent god capable of shaping the universe to our whim, then sure, train tracks.
