You return to the hovel that your family dwells within, you are covered in the soot of the fire that's taking the city, your guise suffering minor burns that would be sure to make them worry.

Jacob's Mother throws open the door and runs out to you, throwing her arms around you," Oh my god, are you okay? We, we saw the fire and thought of your bakery in the walls... Where have you been?" The woman looks into your eyes and you manage to return her stare, you feel serene...

You put a hand to the woman's face and smile,"Mother, I feel fine... Better than that... With that fire, I'm sure Claire's murderer will get the fate that he deserves."

The woman throws her arms around you again and you feel the wet tears rolling off of her face and into your smoke-stained clothes. You see the faces of Jacob's father, and your sister and brother...

You think of the names of these people... Mirabelle is holding you right now.. Then there's Jack, the father at the door... The boy's name is Harold, he wants to be a wizard. Audrey, despite father's pushes for you to inherit the farm, she's the one that enjoys the work the most...

These are the names of this family.. and since the first night you slept in their house, you've wanted to kill them, rip their gouts out with your teeth and show them the color of each other's insides...

Even now.. because they are poor... they have no place in the world... However.

They grow wheat.

You hug the most noble woman hard and enter the house and wash up with a few rags...

Closing your eyes and pretending to sleep... The trials of the yesternight melt off of you... Aside from the grand arson of the Slums, everything else will be just the same. Just as you like it...

In *this particular case*, we would be worse off without evidence left behind than with. Medical science and corpse identification are not terribly advanced at this point in history, so any skeleton about the right size would make a good fake "Jacob" - but even in this day and age, the Order would still know enough to ask "Where's the body?" if there was simply no body to be found.

Why simply leave people without a definite answer to a question when you can leave them never asking that question in the first place?
>>
>>25335692
Good point.

We only really need to get rid of bodies that bare our handiwork (like bite marks) or when we'd be unable to transport the body without arousing suspicion (such as that hobo we burned in our oven).
>>
Harold wakes you up with a small shock and you look at him from your cot, you take a deep breath and sigh," What on earth are you doing?"

The blonde-haired by smiles at you with gasps in his teeth," I'ma be a wizard som'day Jacob! See what I can do?!" The boy seems to focus intently upon something and then he suddenly jolts you with another small trickle of electricity, causing you to reflexively recoil.
"Ow, Harold, stoppit you mad bugger! Go an' play your magic elsewhere! I've got bread to get t' baking."
The boy laughs at his little trick and doesn't seem discouraged at all by your chastising," One day, I'm gonna be great an' powerful! I'ma study at the uni... uni... University! The one in Bristol with all th' men an' magic!"

You roll your eyes," Yes, yes, well... keep dreaming.. I've got my own things to deal with, like getting the to the bakery in time to open... Hey, thanks for waking me though." This conversation feels so much more... natural to you... You... A searing pain moves within your chest... A searing pain that quickly turns into that burning euphoria from the last night... You stare at the boy as he runs off and imagine setting his head on fire... That'd be a good one, wouldn't it?

You're off to the bakery in good time for another day... Through the castle's walls and straight through to the town's center where your bakery is... There are still some cinders from where the slums had burned into the ground.... This just makes you so happy...

You mix dough, knead it, and set it to proof, sweeping the bakery as you wait... A very simple yet rewarding task... these are the things that make life so good... This and burning those that are unworthy beggars...

By the time you take your first batch from the Oven, you notice that you have a customer just in time to see a man standing there... So familiar and wearing the mask of a Plague Doctor.

>>
>>25335829

Yes. To keep up with a bit of continuity, and that I represented the "Earl" as a plague doctor in the beginning. The Earl's title in the canon series is actually his human name. while his Noah name is Adam. So, in this the Earl is the Plague Doctor, Nostradamus. He'll be maintaining that chipper and polite courtesy of his however, being the memory of Noah and all.

What we truly need, above all else, is a rolling pin weapon. We're not just a hunter, we're not just a wolf-demon-necron, we are a BAKER.

We produce food, so we use our teeth, chewing tasty guts like the interior of a soft, savory roll. We bake the bread in our oven, so we cook people until they've got a nice crust over the soft inside. Why should we not honor our craft further with a spiked steamrolling pin?

Perhaps I will go unheard today, but it need not be today. Just keep this suggestion in mind.
>>
>>25335959
Why be the rolling pin when we can be the oven?
>>
>>25335991
Why not be BOTH?

Aside from, y'know, detachable chainsaw maw being a priority.
>>
>>25335991
Why not be both? We can become all that we need to bake our bread. (obviously not right now, just saying, anon's idea has some merit)
>>
We can save up the 300 exp we'll need to get a new weapon after we upgrade our fangs.

How about a rolling pin grinder? Like. For our forearms. We could bear hug somebody as they get grinded by our rolling pin arms and blow hot fire all over them.
>>
>>25336066
Considering how much Fangs we have putting in a grappling weapon could have its uses, it means if we catch something we can nom it to pieces instead of it being able to run away.
>>
"Why, you have set up quite the charming shop, haven't you, my adorable creation?" The voice is gentle, proud, yet, noble. All these traits, you dearly admire. His suit is obviously tailored to fit and ends in twin coattails that go down to the middle of his long and slender legs... His whole body an artwork...

He takes off his hat and bows ever so slightly in greetings, and you do so in return as he speaks," It's good to know that you are doing so well for yourself... You and your nii-chan seem to be getting close to your next level... and this is good. There are two exorcists within this city right now.. You seem to have given them the spook by killing that naughty child... Good work in that by the way.. Unexpected that you would grow so strong in but a fortnight. Satisfied?"

"Never quite." You say, smiling as you pass the good, honest man a loaf of your bread and he turns it over a few times before setting a few coins down upon the counter. He tucks it underneath his arm,"Why, thank you.. It smells delightful with the addition of blood and fear to the bake... and the way you let it proof, the yeast to flour to water ratio... Sublime."

This guy is good. This guy knows his bread...

The man tips his hat slightly as he makes to leave,"If you kill the two exorcists, I will return to you. If you are destroyed, you were my favorite Akuma. Good day."

As the tall, lithe man leaves, a black and silver robed man enters the Bakery, nearly bumping into the Doctor.
"Ah, excuse me good man! <3" The Doctor whispers out loud, as he slips past the near collision.

The Black and Silver-robed man looks to your bread and then up to you, his eyes almost judging, trying to look into yours..

"Sir, I don't appreciate being stared at within my own bakery..."

The man quickly looks away and down," Ah, I, I am sorry. I was just thinking about a sister that we lost.. She had bought bread from this place yesterday.. I'm sure that you saw her.

"Yes, she actually hugged me even..."

>>25336184

That was in part why I decided to have this version of the "Earl" wear Plague doctor's clothes. Easy to get around without drawing specific attention... Bringing back loved ones from the dead could be attributed to the fact that he's a DOCTOR.. Doctors are magic, right?

Doing it and then I'll need to hit the hay.

>>25336224

A metallic skeletal hellhound with some mechanized parts (Joints could be depicted as either gears or ball and socket joints, gears would be better for the hind legs though.

An open and toothed maw with large, perhaps even comical fangs, small devil horns atop the head, no ears. and a metal chassis instead of skeletal ribs.

Conversely, the "nii-chan" akuma has a fixed jaw and a crossbow bolt loaded within.

I hope that's rather detailed for you, I'll leave the artistic license to you, of course. Oh, and the tail could either be cropped like a doberman or long and thin.

>>
>>25336487
Nah, let's not spread ourself too thin, level 1 of Gravity isn't that big, specialization is where it's at.

If we want to grab another ability let's grab something synergistic with what we already have. We currently breathe fire, move fast, and have very sharp claws.

Personally I'd go with some shadow control of some kind. Since we're spitting fire everywhere we're going to be leaving a lot of shadows so if we can manipulate them into weapons or use them for travel we get a lot of mileage out of Shadow+Fire and there is minimal synergy between Gravity+Our Skill Set.
>>
>>25336530
gravity slows enemies as we get closer, and since we are faster than most exorcists our close range fang attack would be unavoidable
>>
>>25336530
I agree anon, shadow manipulation is where it's at.
"we flit through the night, a thing born of blood and flame and a darkness so deep it can be felt."
>>
>>25336530
Physically, we're already pretty good.

I'm still partial to getting a "poison fog" ability. We've already got it upgraded, and it'd be cheaper than getting a third ability.
>>
Gravity/the whole making people around us bow from gravity does work with our superiority quirks. We are above the humans, therefore they should bow to our flames of justice
>>
>>25336557
How about a flammable poison fog so that we can poison people and use it as a fuel air bomb.
>>
>>25336530
>>25336555
>Shadow Questing so bad right now anons
>>
>>25336557
It also synergizes with our Fire Magic. Since it's oil, we can spread it around and light in on fire.
>>
>>25336562
Poison gas would achieve the same thing. They are not fit to breath our air so we make the air not fit for them to breath. The kneel over and die from it.
>>
>>25336574
what if flames were enhanced with higher gravity? anything that catches fire is weight down as it burns
>>
>>25336591
It just doesn't fit thematically, to be honest.
>>
>>25336530

What about smoke instead of shadows?

Smoke comes naturally from fire and all that.
>>
>>25336530
>Gravity synergizes with ANYTHING YOU CARE TO NAME like a motherfucker. They can't dodge very well while they're crumpling under the weight of their own bodies. Trying to block is similarly exceptional in its difficulty, unless they have a pavise... and THAT will tip over and crush them under its multiplied weight after a good solid hit.

You are visibly unsettled to some degree by this, yet you formulate an appropriate counter response.. You hold back a wicked, freakish smile as you think of just the right thing to say...

You breath very shallowly, facilitating a degree of breathing, though not quite to be obvious," Well, that's a rather odd thing to say... Though the truth is, I have something of a medical condition.. affects my breathing. That man that just left was my doctor coming by for a quick check up and some bread..." You play it off rather well, the man's stern eyes show a hint of doubt, and you decide that it's about time to curve this around..
"Then again, who's to say it wasn't the young lady herself that caused it, she was rather cute, wasn't she?" He lean over the counter, a bit, staring at the man as he suddenly averts his eyes.
"I am sorry, it was my mistake... she was new... Obviously with her jumping to conclusions and bravado, she'd likely be at fault. Pardon me, I'll be going now... Much work to do.." The man hastily leaves... that last comment seemed to have made him a bit more uncomfortable... or perhaps it broke the mood?

Either way, it gt him out of your bakery...

Your mind begins to whirr with what the Earl had said...And from what this man had just informed you of..

She was a rookie.. the next one is likely to be even more difficult... You'll need to get them alone... you'll need to get them alone, and you'll need help...

Perhaps your nii-chan can help with purging this disgusting rats?

These thoughts run through your head far more easily as your concern for the horrible homeless people has already been alleviated to no small degree. The purging of their kind pleases you.. oh it pleases you so greatly...

You put more bread in the oven and begin to make your next batch... You even begin to whistle something of a song... Perhaps you'll make one about burning homeless people?
>>
>>25336598
I'm fine with smoke instead of shadows. You can do an awful lot with obscuring smoke or being able to become like the smoke we make and be impossible to find or hit.

>>25336600
That just means Gravity itself is good instead of being synergistic, and getting to the useful and powerful levels of it will cost commensurately, Fire and Shadow/Smoke are individually not going to be as expensive for the more impressive cool stuff as it's specialized instead of just GRAVITY and end up far greater than the sum of their parts.

>>25336654
If we die, we'll be one of his favorites.

I don't like the idea of overloading ourselves with non-related abilities. The final effect would look clunky. The best characters are those who don't try to stretch themselves over different areas.

Let's try to regulate ourselves to being melee fighters (with some possible ranged capability) and leave our [possible] partner to ranged duty (if he lives long enough, that is).
>>
>>25336638
if we regrow teeth, can we heat them with our flames, bite into someone and tear them out leaving them embedded?
>>
>>25336638
as strength increases, does this include bite/jaw strength or does that go with Fangs?
>>
>>25336696
I'd say we can, if we chose to get projectile teeth (since that would imply having the ability to willingly remove your teeth at will).

I'm leaning more towards chainsaw teeth, though.
>>
>>25336695
>wants to focus on melee, wants to ignore Gravity that will instantly give increasing melee bonus from stopping targets at close range....
>>
>>25336695
Personally on the teeth I want barbed ones that come out instead of projectile ones. Once we sink our teeth into something they stay in there and tearing them out rips and gouges their flesh apart as they burrow poisonous tendrils inside them.
>>
>>25336712
>>25336696
meant like Arlong (One piece), not shoot them but bite and pull hard enough to dislodge them to grow more
>>
>>25336715
Look, just because some people aren't receptive to your idea, that doesn't mean you have to be passive-aggressive about it.

We operate through consensus.

I understand the benefits of Gravity Magic, but I don't think it'd mesh well with our current set of aesthetics.

Yes. With enough strength, it would've been possiblt to tear, or better yet, crush through that Nemean Lion power. Which you may be seeing again

>>25336696
Sounds like a plan.

>>25336724
The barbing can be auto-added next level as a natural progression rather than specialized.

The entire maw of teeth can be fired and replaced, or it can become a chainsaw. that has loose "blades" which would allow for massive amounts of poisonous teeth to be lodged within targets.
>>
>>25336731
I understand consensus, I also understand my rights to voice my opinion and have at least a few supporters but regardless of that I like the idea of melee focus and not spreading out too far. It's not as if I'm not also thinking of ways to increase our potency in melee combat. Me, I favor Poison. Increase its Potency alongside Flame Magic to end up with the ability to create a poison fog. Inhibit enemy vision and weaken them in the same way "Nii-chan's" poison weakened the girl exorcist.

So 400 exp to get to level 3 abilities, as compared to getting Gravity Magic at level 2. I do think it's a better target to aim for if we want to be lethal enough to take down the two remaining Exorcists.
>>
>>25336892
or our gravity field could also be a poison field
>>
>>25336892

The question is... how will you get the exp to kill the Exorcists?
>>
>>25336892
if this is the case then yeah lvl 2 gravity+lvl 2 fire may be our best bet at the moment
>>
>>25336902
I don't understand your intent, can you clarify?

Drawfag here, I was going through my folder for paper when I came across an old doodle I made, I think the head would be perfect for our Akuma.

I think our horns are currently a bit less prominent, but other than that it looks like a brilliant base.

Maybe sharpen the teeth at bit more as well.
>>

good concept, but to dino/lizardy. we hell hound so more wolfish
>>
>>25337004
Eh, I like tombstone teeth personally, but we'll see how it looks when it's done. And yeah, too big/many horns, but this should make a good base.

It's because we have feelings, people.

So IGNORING the bickering, looks like many want to focus on Poison/Fire with some fair points on Gravity. And Fangs are our melee focus with chainsaw looking preferred.
For what its worth I do agree grav would be a good against multiple exorsists, and lets not forget our Nii-chan has much stronger poison than us right now so lvl2 grav may be a better investment atm.
>>
>>25336993

Quite charming.

I agree with the concerns on the horns, this form is meant to look pretty scant overall and rather basic.
>>25337009
This is also true.

Though, I've always loved monster drawings of all sorts.

>>25337035
I honestly always thought that the floating gun-pods were a touch... over the top... Just not... as cool as it could be.

>>25337057
I agree.

So...

Some thoughts I have for LV 2.

As it stands now, one of the defining characteristics will be poisonous smog.

I figure if you guys enjoy the wolf-form it may be kept as the fire magic does give a sort of hellhound tone... However...

You could indeed end up as a lizard... A poisonous napalm dragon?

A Rodent of some sort, after all, that would very much accomodate the fangs.

A Shark, though I'm not exactly sure how Fire and poison really get into the mix.

I already know what I have planned for "Nii-chan's evolution, should he survive.

Ah. and in the case of wolf-like evolution, I'm thinking of Cerenir as a name. Cerebus + Fenrir. Though I'm up to suggestions as to such. It's still on the floor and if you pump enough exp it could change the theme or even add more into the overall.

What's it goin' ta be?

Aside, Faefnir would be a kickass named for a smog breathing dragon.
>>
>>25337084
but Akuma are machines
>>
>>25337137

Self aware ones.

Don't sell yourself short Akuma-chan.
>>
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barghest

Just thought of this too...
>>
>>25337127
Gah, hopefully when we "graduate" to level 2, we can stop calling him Nii-chan. He's technically younger than us.

Anyway, it's not about having stronger poison, it's about having our own unique way of application. If we want to inhibit our foes physically, poison smog would do just the trick (even if they're immune to it, they can still get sick and weak from breathing it in) and we'd get two level 3 abilities rather than just Gravity Magic at level 2. It's more cost-effective in the long run.

>>25337135
Fuck, we totally gotta go with Fafnir now. Fire and poison smog? Excellent.
>>
>>25337135
like Faefnir if we go dragon, and Barghest is a nice ring for lupine akuma.
whats to say we won't go on an exp hunt in prep for exorsist slaying
>>
>>25337182
or just murder the town in one big exp farm for the 1000 exp or so for all three
>Flame 3
>Poison 3
>Gravity 2
>>
>>25337183
It depends on how well things go next thread. We'll see.

At the moment, they're probably going to be on the lookout for any Akuma in the forest. We've deflected suspicion of ourselves, but they may still attribute the recent catastrophe and hobo killings to an Akuma living in the city. They may even try to trap us. In which case, it'd be smarter for us to set a trap for them, somehow.
>>
>>25337216
>>25337222
>bake huge supply of bread, fill with blood poison and offer to whole town
since it currently takes three days to kill we can get a large portion of town before any signs of plague show
>>
>>25337235

Instant red-flag. Your poison shows pentacles upon the victims.
>>
>>25337241
hmmmm, okay i like a challenge... what about water? if we delude in town well it would be too late for them to stop the spread
>>
>>25337216
I'd be amicable to that arrangement.

We were going to get a third ability anyway, though we'll need to vote it out on whether we want Gravity Magic or a second weapon (the "rolling pin" grinders).

>>25337235
>>25337241
>>25337250
Yeah, we don't want to attract too much attention.

I mean. We'll probably have to leave town once we take care of these two Exorcists. But causing a mass plague? The Order may label us as being a significant enough threat worth tracking down. Maybe if level 3 Poison is potent enough to kill them before anyone can examine the cause of death?
>>
>>25337241
or what about this instead
>get nii chan to gather any others it can find and draw exorcists into woods for a night
>leaving us alone in town to have our fun and gain strength
>which we then use on the returning exorcists as they see town go in flames
>>
>>25337276
in canon, plague victims of akuma poison are covered in pentagrams til they cover body and fall apart. at any lvl the pentagrams show up but at lvl 3 it may work to fast to stop

The poison is in your blood-oil. It's black. Last thread, it was brought up that no one would drink black water. Though some may... They're likely all dead now.

It's been quite fun gentleman, I'll drop by in my own morning, though I may not feel too well given the lack of rest.

I'll check back! A pleasure to have been through this with you all!
>>
>>25337216
I'd personally prefer to spend extra experience on our base stats. We need more Discipline and Endurance.
>>
>>25337322
till next thread, this quest gives me such wonderful ideas for our lovely Akuma chan and soon to be.....customers
>>
>>25337282
Well, we'll be checking up on "Nii-chan" later anyway, right? To make up battle plans?

We may have the time, if the Exorcists are more cautious.

We could try splitting them up? That is to say, cause a rash of killing sprees in both the woodland areas and the cityscape. Make them desperate enough to split up and defeat both Akuma at once (they're probably more experienced than the rookie we killed, so they might be confident enough to do so). Since we've got the ability to jump over the wall, we could quickly make our way to the forests and help "Nii-chan" kill the other Exorcist. Then we could pick off the last Exorcist in the city.

'Course, something will probably go wrong midway, in which case we'd need to improvise quickly.

>>25337318
That's what I said.
>>
>>25337322
Buy, Duke. Thanks for the session.
>>
>>25337365
you asked if they would be able to tell if plague caused it. large black pentagrams and disintegrating corpses would make it obvious, only speculating that lvl 3 would be instant death instead of 3 day plague
>>
So how's this look for a rough design? I'd make an actual posed drawing once I have a design down. The head still looks un-wolflike becasue I figure the jaws are really the biggest thing we have going, apperancewise.

not horrible, still think head needs to be more lupine to fit the wolf like way we fight as well as the sheer number of fangs we have. other than that i like the overall metal-skeleton look that leaves room for our "flame body"

>>
>>25337505
>Maybe if level 3 Poison is potent enough to kill them before anyone can examine the cause of death?
i merely pointed out that any stage of plague or lvl of poison leads to the pentagrams and disintegration of corpse. meaning that exorcists trained to spot signs of akuma would instantly recognize it as blood oil poison regardless of instant death or days long plague

thats the thing though, we specialized in Fangs as our weapons so they are actually our most prominent feature. if it needs to be a little unanatomic or unreal looking than thats good, we're not exactly a real wolf either

>>
>>25337565
>>25337602
We may not even be wolves anymore when we get to Level 2. Maybe a cross between a wolf and a lizard?

I mean. Ever since Duke mentioned it, I quickly got attached to the name Faefnir/Fafnir (I'm more partial towards the second method of spelling it, but only because I'm more used to it). The name isn't used as often as Fenrir, you get what I'm saying?

You could make the teeth on the "outer" area shorter?

But yeah, doesn't look that great as it is. Go ahead with the snaggletooth teeth.
>>
>>25337949
yeah stick with snaggle, but i like idea of rows behind those. we don't need the room for anything else so what if the inside was just rows and rows of regrowing teeth that just shredded anything that we got in our mouth as we bite

I'm back from our most outstanding night together! <3

>>25337654

I do enjoy this design, very much like what I had imagined! The extra bits upon the legs are quite good, quite good indeed!

If you happened to be interested, due to this design being the base, adding in the variations of initial weaponry of a LV 1 would be simple... For instance, removing the teeth, narrowing the jaw and sticking the tip of a bolt protruding from the mouth would show you your "nii-chan."

All in all, good work and a good show.

>>25337675
Do others find this form and name acceptable? Thinking some mechanical abomination of a western dragon would be a touch fitting for the deadly smog machine that you dears have in mind...

Of course, if another outstanding though pops up, that's all well and good too.

Lv 2's can be anything from dragons, to magic cards, to clowns, to werewolves, etc... Though I'd figure that you guys would want something a bit more...

Rule of Cool is it?

I could always install an oven stomach and a fireproof baker's apron if you gentlemen approve! [/spoiler

>>
>>25340853
I don't know what I want our name and motif to be, but I did think up a really fitting name for nii-chan: PAVLOV
Hell, if we can finagle up a code language from ringing bells to communicate with nii-chan while stealthing around in human form... Well, you get the idea.
>>
>>25341614

Waiting, just checking up.

>>25341726

That's a touch brilliant, however he will be getting more intelligent with time. Just think of him as having nearly 0 for personality in your meeting with him.

My thought for him matters more towards what his weapon is... you'll see.
