He's a formal Imperial Guard commander, a clone of Sly Morbo who went rogue and led his unit to capture a titan from imperial forces in the hopes that he could use the threat of it's arsenal to change imperial policy.

This is all a ruse, however, since he's being manipulated by Shuriken Ocelot, an eldar spy quadrupal agent.

Solid Knight

Part of a prototype stormtrooper unit that is outfitted with light power armors.
The only problem was the antiquity and rarity of the tech meant the armor should be fused to the body. Volunteers that have been chosen from those who underwent horrible battlefield traumas and injuries.

The constant supply of drugs and stimulants to her body means she and her unit has very low self conciousness and do what they are told by the built in radio inside their helmet and nearly unresponsive to the outside orders or talks.
Making very very small tlaks and acknowladgements.
Between missions when the drugs and stimulant pumping is decreased they chat amongst themselves a little and may have very small flashbacks to their previous lifes.

They are highly augmented and they are on par with kasrkins, even some commanders say better.
Current accomplishments include raiding a ork camp and killing the warboss inside ending the waagh.
Blowing a chaos cruiser
Defending the fortress gates against tyranid hordes with guns first and when out of ammo punching and smashing them with inbuilt electrical charged fists.

Currently out of the original 20 candidates only 4 survived.

So we all know that Punished Snake is not being voiced by David Hayter, and at first I thought "Well they are transitioning his voice to his later Big Boss voice" but then I realized, Solid Snake is alive by the time of MGS5, the only reason Hayter would not voice Big Boss is because he is already voicing Solid Snake in the game.
