Welcome back to Commissar Quest!

Last week on Commissar quest: We meet up with Johnatius, got some information of the ships logs to where we where going and ate a lot of yellow paste, we also spent the rest of the day tending to servitors with him and his family.

"The emperor protects"

Roll rules:

Highest of first three rolls for things the character is skilled at doing.
Median of first three rolls for things the character is "capable" at.
Lowest of first three rolls for things the character is utterly shit at.

You have to "beat" your stats (which for now are hidden by popular demand, this may change) so low rolls are good.

Cont post explained: If there is a post marked at the end with "cont" its becouse your QM is lazy, and can't type fast - or becouse he wants to give you the option to jump into the current events, or offer opinions, if none are offered he'll continue as normal

Disclamer in regards to Re:Spelling: I suck at spelling big time, if anyone actually cares its due to the fact I suffer from Dysgraphia, its the primary reason I got into RP in the first place, trying to practice my spelling. Its not about "don't complain about it!" but rather: "If you've got the time and want to proof read it great! But lets not clog the thread with it, send it to my E-mail! (Yes I do use a spellchecker)

It had been another day now and you where not there quite yet.

The ship was according to the voice now calling out across your "chamber" (The large hangar in which you and so many other sleep) just an hour short of orbit and "all essential personal" had to report to their "designated areas" - which, naturally meant that you had to get your things in order and head to the disembarkment zone.

You, otto Schulte where resting in your rather comfortable-foldable-bed-with-weird-"matress" wearing your typical brown and stained "robe", its original function long lost on you, but it served now as your sleeping dress.

Yesterday had been hectic if nothing else you think while hosting yourself up on your elbows into a sitting position - peering out through the crack in the "cloth" that made up the walls of your room, outside you could see others moving about, getting ready. You'd had the oppertunity to not only learn more about your destination but also spend some time with Johnatius - he had shown your the ships servitor halls, it was a dirty and stained place - but it had taught you some basics of servitors! His dad was even nice enough to let you walk with him through a shift, he had been working with...

>Time to roll! What did we learn from our trip?

>1-20 Servitor refitting (Increased knowlage of imperial standard tools, their names - and purpose)
>20-40 Servitor maintenance (Increased knowlage in regards to the most -simple- of tech rituals)
>40-60 Servitor Biological check-ups (Some more information in how human attonmoy works)
>60-80 General servitor work - you never learned what as he was "working as" As he was checking up and counting some servitors that day, that was all - however, you got to drive his onbord truck!(Increased understanding of driving and vechicals)
>80-95 Servitor Cognitator maintenance (Increased understanding for Cognitators and their basic opperating)
>95-100 Servitor-Armorer (Increased understanding or the imperial tools of war, the kind old man even let you fire his gun a few times at the shooting range)

The old man had been working on cognitators - massive bulky machinery hooked up to the servitors skulls, it had been rather cool seeing all those cables screens and massive cooling fans, swinging into a sitting position you stretch your arms in the air, they had been more advanced then anything you'd seen before that is for certain - none of them had that odd thing the public ones had with a ticking thing on the screen that slowed everything down!

It had been slow work, but you'd learned a lot, particular how to use the "overwrite" key thing on the Humanoid-interfacing-instrument, he even gave you a data-slate containing some more information on how cognitators are working - and their history, you never had the opportunity to read it as after John and yourself split up you went straight to bed.

Outside the sounds are increasing, it almost sounds like someone is having an argument, but your not dressed at all, the data slate is also there - your belly rumbles, but you figure that there won't be any breakfast today, besides you've got packing to do.

>What do we do?

You step out of the bed, moving your arms into the robe to push the entire thing over your head, and down on the ground with a low "thud" - without must ceremony in your buff state you bend down and open up your "bed-chest".

The old piece of junk was a former crate used for storing bolts but you'd refitted it with a trusty Padlock and some elbow grease to be mostly .. somewhat, hard to open without knowing the combination.

>>25472467
While pushing aside the few things of note inside the crate which you own - (a pair of boots, some rope(standard issue - used for when the ships gravs goes down) a pair of old worn gloves - your old overalls, a "wooden" locket (What-ever wood is) that you got from your "family" before leaving) to get to your blue minotorum overall you notice a brown package... Inside rests Uncle Eric's dress, the frilly blue thing that he had worked to hard to get you...

You decide to put it on, something that turns out is harder then expected - despite your aunt having shown you how its done a few times, its so easy to forget - and so hard to get the knots on its behind right.

After about ten minutes of struggling you are inside of it.. but you've got no way to look yourself over. But there are mirrors in the bathroom - outside the arguments are getting heated..

Casually you strip everything else in the tiny "chamber" down - leaving only the foldable bed and "mattress" into your bed-chest, all ready to go you guess...

You casually slip out of your chambers, barefooted and dressed only in your somewhat frilly blue dress - long enough on you to slip past your knees slightly.

Deciding that for now it would be best if you simply avoid getting dragged in by mistake you slip in between the rows of "tent-like" chambers, crossing the space between you and the crowd without trying to get seen.

Its nothing you'd want to get dragged into without proper information beforehand after all, and if you are lucky you'll meet up with another observer before long.

Walking over the slightly cold floor for another minute or so - taking extra care to avoid tripping over a group of youngsters blurting out from a "tent" you are soon in close enough to hear what they are saying - and more importantly in such a spot where you can peer around the corner of a "chamber" to peer at the group...

A large man, clad in what appears to be the gray overalls of the ships crew - with a yellow stripe on his arms suddenly yells: "You stole it, you blasted grak heads! You stole my wallet, its one of you blasted off-shiplings - think I would not notice you sticking your grubby hands in my pocket like that - just spit it out before I call for security!"

- One of the kids, someone you recognize.. nikkobar is answering, waving his fist in the air - his friends nodding "You stumpy void-born, run along to your captain and cry all you want, we ain't takin' naathing, you can't prove anythin' - now get lost, we need to get to docking bay six for departing"

You feel yourself growing ticked off - Nikkobar... This guy, this gakking guy....

Deciding that its long overdue that someone put this oaf you storm out from your hiding spot, pulling yourself together and yell at the top of your lungs, abusing your high-pitched voice to carry the intend as sharp as a sword through the air: "'I am here to diffuse the situation properly!"

The crowds attention turns to you - nikkobar in particular, the overly-large boy, a head taller then everyone else his age.. still, you muse, he never expected that kick to his face, with a smirk you still see he's got a slightly crooked nose, the surgeons onboard had not been advanced enough to correct it completely.

"Nikkobar, stealing again are we?" - You state with a smirk, taking the opportunity to put a hand on your hip to appear more intimidating "You always went on about becoming "The emperors hand - yet the only thing I see, is a thieving heretic (Once again, deciding to use that particular curse all the old men uses, it's suitable harsh you think, not sure what it actually means however)

The crowd all turns to nikkobar - awaiting his response...

"You - little - grak, stomping about lying like usual - what, you ran out of goody feeling with the crew, they give you that ugly dress? You look worse then your mother, oh wait - you don't have one!" (The boys following nikkobar roars out in laughter at this)

You waste no time.

Now that his head is within easier striking distance you deliver a quick knuckle to the side of his face, smiling as he lurches to the side - still standing however - but then again, stepping back to allow some space you manage to deliver a kick straight to his face as he turns to look at you with a slightly running start - you feel his teeth digging into your bare soles, a shudder wandering up your leg, but that is however nothing compared to nikkobar as he floors it quite literally.

You exit the primary holding area, a slight skip in your step, you did just give that oaf nikkobar a proper serving after all - Regardless, the closes large-area bathroom would be a floor down - something you knew all to well after several night-time emergencies.. you know some of the people had taken to use potties - you never really did however.

A low humming coming of the ships plates warns you long before it actually happens, it would appear the ship was opening up its primary docking bays - usually reserved only for loading and unloading of goods and people, it implied they where disembarking a lot sterner then any captain on the vox-horn or event manager.

Cursing your luck on getting stuck in a rail-less corridor like this you push yourself up against a door frame - using your legs to gain some support against its other edge.

You could have grasped the nearby pipes connecting the roof and floor together, but years onboard a vessel of the void had taught you one thing: They where bound to be either incredibly hot, or incredibly cold - either way, nothing you'd want to touch.

The shake is soon upon you and it makes your skull rattle - as the massive doors pushes themselves into "open" mode their engines grind hard, and the entire vessel begins shaking almost like a wet dog - or wait, was that dogs or cats the saying said... You don't even know how a dog or cat looks like now when you think about it... Perhaps like those things in the jar..?

Nearly falling down from the violent shaking however cuts your reveres short as you ride out the "storm" - what-ever that meant.

As soon as the shaking stop you push on, hoping not to get caught in another ship-mess like the one with nikkobar...

Soon you enter the bathroom properly - or well, the "bathroom area", in truth the pure size of the room was slightly offputting, several rows of "small" comparments of a toilet and "sink-like-whole-in-the-wall" the walls where thin but had a mirror mounted.

Still, that did not bother you at all...!

A pang of loneliness hits you as you take the time to correct your hair slightly - its short now, there is no need to comb it but the action comes naturally as you use your hands to at least give it an airing.

Still - you are here to look over the frilly dress that cling to your body - its a bit to large, leaving your arms lots of space to move about, the chest area a bit loose for some reason - it was probably made for someone with a bigger belly perhaps?

Regardless, swinging around as much as you are able in the small stall you look over your bad - several laces are keeping the thing in place - at least four rows of the buggers, they appear to be somewhat well laced.. as good as can be expected - you did it by yourself after all.

Frills cover the sides of the loops securing it over your shoulders - and the very edges of it.

What an overly fancy dress... really.

Regardless, you take the time to wash up a bit using some cloth and water.

No need, we are totally going to make funny faces in the mirror. Try making our scariest Commissar face, for practice. No need to roll.

You tilt your head... before sticking your tongue out, your mirror image following suit.

.. Nobody can see you.

You delve into making a series of crude faces - trying out various forms of "tough looks" using your fingers to spread your lips, ruffling your hair, snarling - anything to look more intimidating, you also enjoy for a moment imitating Uncle Eric's stoic face and goofy smiles, even going as far as doing a silly impression of his speeches "Don't touch the pipes Otto!"

By the end you are laughing, that felt good - you really ought to do this more often.

>>25474101
Still, you'd best get going - gathering yourself up (and wiping some spittle off your chin) you step outside after giving the door a gentle prod to unlock it, the smell of disinfection hits your nose as you begin to return to the door, all around you toilets where flushing, doors opening - places like these served hundreds in just twenty minutes, it was never quiet.

The trip back to your chambers where uneventful, thankfully so gathering up your things are thankfully brief - and the crowd from earlier is nowhere to be found, your chest-box-bed-thing thankfully did have the wheels bellow it - the only way to move a box that size filled with bolts without a servitor after all - hence why you took that one.

Pushing it in front of you the journey towards loading bay six begin.. its now or never.

The corridor lurched bellow you, instinctively you reached out towards any nearby object - grasping onto a particular dentition in the wall - no doubt you muse to yourself while steeling for the incoming shuddering originally designed to house some manner of vox-apparatus.

Pushing your crate in between your legs you try and keep it secure through the happening..

The ship cringed again bellow you, the groan of metal like some manner of wounded beast, straining under pressure - it was common on older ships to have things like these, rare was it indeed for a hallway not to have some manner of dents or hollow spaces, most of them where amazing spots for hide-and-seek games.

The ship was probably turning itself - or otherwise correcting its course, usually the internal dampening systems would ease it, but once the ship began to enter orbit mode most such systems where shut-off to allow cycling of the plasma generators - they needed to be powered down one at a time to allow the tech adepts to run maintenance - you'd know, in the past you had to help Aunt Juliana carry things for the ritual cleansing - like oil and those weird-sticks-that-smelled-like-poop.

You continue the trip regardless, dealing with ships shaking during the final stages where rather common - most ship-board crew that had nothing particular to do would simply rest in their rooms to avoid getting knocked on the floor.

You sadly, did not have this option.

Primary holding area six was part of the ships twelve holding areas - together with number twelve it was the one furthers away from the bridge, and more annoyingly so - closer to the gellar fields, lucky for you, they where turned off while in real space.

Stepping through one of the many side doors leading into the holding bay proper, the dirty gathering hall stretches out before you for the first time, its cold, not due to the open hatches revealing the dark void - no, the ship is venting its excess heat into space faster then its life support systems could compensate for properly, now that it was running on momentum alone. The energy rerouted for heating was focused into the ships primary compartment, to its crew sections, engine housing and cargo halls - little was spared for the disembarkment chambers, the large empty rooms just next to the ships massive hull.

You spot a group of people some distance away, probably several hundred all neatly lined up...

Deciding that the crowd can wait - this holding space is simply put: Massive, you love places like these and feel a faint giggle coming up.

Its time to go exploring.

You rush along the dirt-stained floor, oil spills, feet - incense burn offs and their ilk have stained the entire holding bay floor thought out the years, giving it a slightly burnt look - something which the smell of burned metal and rubber underlines - almost making you feel like your in a giant oven, like the one Uncle Eric would melt things in for his work!

The void outside the shielding was dark, but at least here you could more easily make out stars - in particular this systems sun was glaring at the very edge of the open space, bathing one corner of the holding bay in warm yellow-orange light.

Looking about you sadly find nothing that immediately sticks out as usual.. its just nothing around here really...

The crowd remains where it is - lines facing the doors.. Just as you where about to give up your search however, the sound off footsteps interrupts your line of reasoning - tech adepts!

What do we do?
>Act like nothings wrong.

You snort, and being to head towards the group properly - casually wandering while tossing an eye at the adepts walking in the other direction - they don't seem to be paying you much heed at the moment and soon are to far away to make out properly.

Getting close you quickly notice it for what it is, its a gathering for disembarkment - several of the people appears to be carrying their items, others like you - have them in chests nearby, the coherent lines are only roughly so now that you got closer - you also notice that several crew members are standing about, peering the group over with stern faces - one of them pointing at you, yelling something you can't quite make out.

Joining in with the crowd, you turn to look into the void again... awaiting what-ever is to come.

>That is all for tonight folks! Next game? Properly soon, if not tomorrow on Tuesday. I've got a week or two off coming up and figured I'd jump start us a bit!

So, will life in the Schola be day-by-day, or Intro, time-skip, event, time-skip, event, event, time-skip, event, time-skip, time-skip.......
up to the next stage?
>>
Rolled 56

>>25475098
He said in the first thread that there would be a little time-skip, IIRC,
>>
>>25475298
>>25475098
Indeed, there's going to be some time skipping in the scholia - I can't really make 320 threads for a day - but I won't be skipping years ahead, expect a week, at top a month time skipping at a time - perhaps more.

So time skip - even, time skip -event mostly.
>>
>>25475496
363 threads for a year*

Perhaps more during certain parts - like a summer break*

>Damn you phone
>>
>>25475507

no worries. Though I hope that we could get though more than one day a thread.... or were you expecting it to be that slow...
>>
>>25475549
I dunno, if he's got the perseverence to keep it going that long, I wouldn't mind so much. Would make for a damn epic quest.
>>
>>25475549
>>25475714
Honestly it will be as long as we demand it to - time skips will no doubt happen naturally over time - for the time being we are taking this day-by-day and probably will for several threads more - untill we've had at least a week or two on the school to get to know the place.

There will be other times where we'll take a week or more day-by-day, I'd imagen you'd want time before exams to properly prepare.

Some days will demand several threads to cover them - like today, which already have consumed one thread, and no doubt will consume another.

The ship was designed for me to allow some "manuvering space" to learn what TG wants from this quest - and hopefully for me to learn how to make a good one before jumping straight into the juice cruncy part - for lack of a better term: We are in the prolog.

>On that subject, do we want dates, I've already established our current timeline as 922.M41

Commissar quest is naturally open for all anon(Its sort of the purpose of running a quest on TG, no?), tho tonight is finished. - Read up on the story so far in the archive and join in at some point.
