>Don't be afraid to jump in if you are new!

You are a creature of simple desires. You desire to eat things. With every delicious thing you eat you grow, morph and change.
>>
You have just eaten your way through the gun shop, first you ate a vicious little mantis who wasn't delicious and you didn't gain any new morphs, then you ate a silph, a creature made of wood and leaves, and gained photosynthesis. Then you went hunting for lone individuals, avoiding the room full of noisy aliens and finding a lone human watching tiny little mantis fighting in the television in his bedroom. You killed and ate him, but he sprayed an awful lot of blood around, and broke off the door to the room. Which would have been fine, except that someone came looking for this particular fleshbag.

"Hey guys, I think something happened to Steve."
The delicious meatstick draws a phaser and, holding it steady in front of it, steps through the only exit of the room, following the trail of crimson across the room towards you.

You are currently hiding behind the bed, out of view, where you ate the delicious human. The delicious meatstick, has 4 feet and a soft voice. It has many eyes and chitinious plates covering its form. It wears no clothes.

The bedroom is sunk into the rock of the cave wall, solid stone for two of the walls, and the other two cheap plaster, damp and decaying. The room is sparsely furnished. It reminds you of your college days. Or at least the college days of the fleshbag whose memories you stole. There are two doors, one back out to the corridor, and the other probably leads to a bathroom.

What do you do?

You wonder if you could emulate the mantis' clicking noises. You haven't gained any particular mimicry skill, not the mantis' voice, but you do have mandibles...
You touch them together... nothing. You slide them over each other... nothing. Frustrated you mash them together. There is a click! Yes, excellent! You can't help but giggle at your success.

"Abraham? Have you gone mad and killed Steve?" The many legs get closer.

Uh oh. You scramble under the bed. Under here there are numerous plastic balloons, scrunched up sheets of dead paper and a thick purple rod. None of it seems particularly delicious.

The insectoid sack of deliciousness approaches the messy pile of blood and clothing that you left behind, with its pattern of grey, brown and now also red splotches. Its four feet are spaced wide apart.

"Sweet Broodmother, you did. Come out little mantis, I won't shoot you and blow you up and eat the remains, I promise~," the voice lilts.

The feet begin to pace about the room.
>>
>>25520845
>numerous plastic balloons, scrunched up sheets of dead paper and a thick purple rod.
... Yeaaaaah, that's what they are.

Let's throw some of the scrunched paper across the room, make it make a knocking noise across the other side, and then jump onto his back! He won't be able to use that phaser on us then.
>>

It's sneak sneak chomp chomp time.

Also:
>Broodmother

>>
You claw at some of the scrunched paper. But it is soft and unlikely to make a noise. Also you lack digits, and are not sure you would be able to throw things with just your immobile claws.

The creature continues to wander the room. It lowers a thick abdomen into view, as it peers beneath the couch. You see that it has a large red stripe down its chitin.

You go to pounce on its delicious plump rear end...

You spring from your hiding place and pounce onto the black and red body. Your claws can hardly find purchase on the smooth carapace, but your mandibles can. You bite down hard, digging your teeth into the things abdomen and cracking the chitin. White fluids leak out of the cracks, but you aren't causing more then superficial damage.

A curious urge overtakes you, flows through you. Your Hunger fills you mind as you clamp your jaw down on the thing and suck... Something from it. Something beyond the fluids and flesh.

Why do we need poison? We've killed everything when we fought it, and we're going to get bigger and badder as time goes on. Poison is important for small creatures killing larger prey, but it's a waste for us because, long-term, we'll end up big enough that it doesn't matter. Web is useful for more than that, and limbs are always better.

>>

All we need to do now is turn our poison into one that paralyzes it's target.

Upgrade the poison. We are the ultimate mighty morphin power ranger. We are WIZARD!
>>
>poison not useful
>You are gaining the way of applying the poison you already have. You can get more powerful poisons with different effects from other kills.

Your body twists and reforms. Two more limbs sprout from your spine, identical to your forelimbs, muscular and with hooked claws. Your mandibles sprout special teeth, hollow and filled with your irritating poison. Curiously, the quills on your back fluff up into feathers, just like they were before.

The creature turns and looks at you with oddly... empty eyes.
"Do you want to live?" You ask it.
It opens its mouth... and hisses.

It drops the phaser from two of its four hands, and starts clawing at you. You jump off it onto the bed, giggling. It doesn't even have claws.

>Spinners are many limbed creatures with powerful poison and can throw webs, but they heal slowly from injuries

The thing tries to get away from you, knocking the television over in its panic and presumably killing the small mantis inside with the impact. You leave the disgusting undelicious creature cowering in a corner of the room and scrabble on your newly begotten limbs out into the corridor of the gun shop.

The nearby room from which all the delicious voices came from is dark and silent. From the canteen you can hear voices. There is another door you didn't notice, with a dull orange light coming from under it, and a metal plate on the door. You can hear the sounds of a horrible evil fan from behind that door. The gun shop storage room and store front are beyond the canteen, past the loud voices.

The walls are old yellow plaster, and you know you can climb along them with your claws.
>>
>>25522158
Lets get on the walls and investigate the voices.

>>
>>25522068
The poison would be in the database, but it would need to be analyzed before correct anti-venom is applied.

And even in real life freak situations occur like a black widow getting to a place where they don't have a repository for the correct anti-venom.

Poisons are a triage nightmare. Usually the only way they're figured out is either by analyzing the venom posthumously before it has a chance to dessicate, or by someone going "I was bit by a fucking black widow" or "I was bit by x type of snake"
>>
>>25522158
Check out this orange room and see what secrets it holds.
>>
Sounds like everyone is in a panic room. There's easier nuts to crack on other places in the asteroid, lets move on from the gun shop.
>>
>>25522158
Let's investigate the sound.
>>
You quickly go back to grab the phaser with your mandibles. It is not delicious. It is slightly warm. There are some glowing lights on its side.

You climb up the walls, and creep over to the open doorway to the canteen. Peeking your head down from where you hang you can see two figures, silhouetted in the bright light from the next room. One are humanoid, but stands on legs with an extra joint. The other is floating at head level, flying in slow circles. It is shaped like a deltoid, flat. There is shattered glass, cans that you remember the human drinking and translucent yellow fluid all covering the floor.

"-a bit of a sod, didn't even clean up before running off to get a new light.'
"Well what did you expect, they can drink with their feet, they probably didn't even think it was a problem."

The door with the orange light is nearby. You can hear that horrible fan whirring away, eager to bite your feathers... You can also hear a quiet noise, similar to that you make when eating too fast. Something gaseous.

You drop down on the handle of the door with the orange light, and slip into the smallest room you've seen so far in your life. It contains nothing but a single sink and a light. There is a door to another room. Above the door is an open space, the wall to the next room there is missing, just a few pieces of long dead timber. You stand off for some time, both determined not to back down...

Your concentration is broken when you hear a loud wet noise from the room beside you. The fan goes silent, and the light beyond goes dark. Something claws at the door, and it begins to open...

Your rival is distracted by something in his room, now would be a great time to attack!

You leap at the fleshbag... But your paralyzed leg doesn't work, throwing you off. You manage to catch yourself on it's clothes with your working limbs, and claw your way up towards his throat. You get shocked twice more, your spine growing stiff, but you reach the top with your mandibles open, fangs ready.

Swiftly you impale them into the human's neck, filling it with venom, true venom. The things eyes go wide, and it stutters and drops the still sparking rod.

Wordlessly, with its mouth open and eyes still wide, it falls backwards into the tiny room beyond, landing with its back on the toilet with a crack. It died before it even hit the floor.

digits, 6 arms + digits means are on the way up the tech tree to something cool+we can use the phaser.

Take the heal, we can always go back and finish off that creature that gave us the poison.

Oh shit OP, we have an actual HUD now? Awesome

I vote for Knowledge, if simply to grow our brain power yet again.

Also, Healing, we took quite a beating back there.
>>
>>25523750
Digitz and healz.

Lets be able to use them boomsticks
>>
>>25523750
I would take digits, we could drag things with them without the usage of our mouth, also going for healing.

Seems my desire for Knowledge is overwhelmed, OP

Saddened as I am, it would be nice to climb better, I suppose

Just saying guys, we're not gonna be able to shoot shit. Seriously, our aim would probably only hit on a nat 100
>>
>>25523859
Why would we ever want to know that?
Is hilarious to fight mirrors!
>>

OP has stated in previous threads that the more you progress into one 'path' so to speak, the more potent and crazy shit you can unlock. We have built up our limbs quite sufficiently, we have muscles, claws, jumping legs and multiple limbs. Let's not try and spread ourselves too thin and just stick to our strengths for the time being.
>>
Pain courses through all of your limbs, as the ends split and reform. It passes after a moment, and you find yourself completely healed.
You look at your legs. You have three digits on your fore legs, one opposed to the others so you can grab things. They are tipped with your hooked claws, which seem to have shrunk and straightened. Your mid legs are similarly changed, but their digits are smaller and thicker, and the claws are larger and more curved. Your rear legs have the smallest digits of all, little more then the smallest of protrusions that your longest, and bluntest, claws extend from.

You ruffle your feathers and giggle to yourself.

Above you the fan continues to rasp angrily. You can't hear anything from outside, with it making such a noise.
>>
>>25523912
But then we can grab the broken shards with our digits!

move outside, gotta be sneaky, and find something else delicious. our evolution cannot be halted
>>
>>25524009
If we look like spider/raptor thing, all of my yes. Anyways, try to find a way to stop the fan.
>>
>>25524009
Leave the room, make sure we're careful about doing it. We don't want to get to confident

I wonder...is there a 'box' with a 'little flippy thingie' nearby?
If so, let's jump and smack at the flippy thing...it...uh...offended us!

go back into the other room and finish off that creature we horribly maimed before, eat him, acquire venom and then finish those other 2 bastards off.

For now, just go to the other room.

Pic related, it's what I imagine we sort of look like right now.

You flush the toilet. It flushes with a heavy sploosh. Somewhere behind the wall you can hear water flowing.

You open the door with your new digits. It's a little difficult to reach up, since you're so low to the ground, but the lever design of the handle lets you put your weight on it. When the door opens, the fan goes silent and the light fades away.

In the next room the sparking rod lies on the floor, amidst the pieces of your rival. He had a lot more eyes then you realised. The windo to the other room seems to have vanished, replaced by a blank patch of wall.

Beyond the next door is silence, so you carefully open it like the last. You see shadows playing in the light being cast out of the bedroom, where you left the undelicious creature. You hear low voices from that direction. There is silence from the canteen.

Awww...hoped it was a fan button

Head for the low voices stealth-fully.

Actually I think its time to abandon this place. Everyone is on alert and they know something is around. Lets head towards telecommunications
>>
>>25524205
let finish them off....... head towards the occupied room

also do we have the knowledge to take the shocky stick with us? if ti hurts us, it must hurt them as well
>>

We should grab the shocker, it seems useful
>>

Hold on guys, if we can kill everyone here, we can sabotage the weapons somehow! Then, when we finally grow in size, we'll be unstoppable.
>>
pretty sure we ate the owner, place is gonna close down while they sort that out.
>>
You grab the sparking stick with one forelimb, being careful to avoid the sparking end, and the phaser in the other, then slink away from the voices, padding along the stone floor as quietly as you can on your claws.

You make out a few voices as you leave. They sound delicious.
"Come on, just talk to me! What did you take?"
"I've never known Hyacynth to take anything hard, this is just insane."
"And she's hurt herself."
There is a hissing noise.
"Just Tell us what happened to Steve!"

You enter the canteen, with the yellow liquid, lifeblood of the silph you ate earlier. You scramble through the open you entered by, and fall out into the alleyway at the back of the large cave.

As you slink towards the telecommunications shop you can see red and blue flashing lights from over at the Sushi shop you ate at not so long ago.

We're attracting attention OP, I'm a little worried.

Congraz tho, the next thread will bring Bioweapon Quest into the double digits! That's gotta be worth something.

I'm imagining we're looking something along the lines a cryssalid from xcom but with a centipede-like bottom half....I am pleased!

Pic related, a cryssalid
>>
>>25524443
no apologies needed man, twas excellent.

I'm the guy from a few threads back who offered a few suggestions as to how you could improve your quest.

I've been keeping up in the archives and these ones have been excellent, you have been really creative and put us in some really interesting scenarios.

I'm really curious if you could give us any hints before you leave, just about further abilities like you have in the past? (I'm really keen to find out where appendages will go.)
>>
>>25524490
Yeeeeees
YEEEEEEEEEES
God we get creepier and more awesome every time.
>>
>>25524490
chryssalid face+ genestealer body that walks on all 6 legs instead of upright, we are genius.
>>
>>25524512
What he said, but also OP, I wanted to know if, when we increase our size, will we be able to expand our...'slots' so to speak?
I mean, I assume we only have so much room on our small self.
>>
>>25524521
Yet, we still look horrendously adorable somehow.
>>
>>25524536
OP, has mentioned before that yes we can expand our slots, he said if you invest tons of shit into knowledge you can become a psychic beast (a la zoanthrope) we can use our stinger and spawn babies (it has been alluded to). The moer you eat the more potential slots there are to unlock.
>>
>>25524635
....then I'd say, as followers of this quest, we should discuss the proper time to evolve our size

I vote we get a ranged attack, and maybe pincers or stronger armor, before we take the plunge.
What do you guys think?
>>
>>25524655
agreed, now that we have a few limbs and some nice attacks maybe it's time to upgrade our size or durability. Maybe swap our feathers for a carapace and then get jacked and increase size. I also agree with you as far as getting a different method of attack, claws are nice, but if we become a range tank with claws then people are in trouble. (im sort of curious to invest in some psychic powers as well?)
>>
>>25524778
Knowledge too, of course.
I'm hoping there is a race of armadillo people who we can
A: Steal armor from
and
B: Be able to roll up into a small form, so we can still use vents in emergencies.
