LAST TIME ON GUNDAM AGE QUEST: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Gundam+AGE+Quest

Check or Follow My Twitter for Updates and Reschedules: https://twitter.com/Crosswire

Your name is Scarlet Crocker, daughter of Jake Crocker and the pilot of the Gawain Gundam. Your father has left to go to Mars through from rather questionable means and your brothers choose to go to Big Ring in Dad’s stay. You decided to stay back to help with the colony defense preparations however shortly after everyone left you were led back to Commander Aldrick Abis and had a uniform thrown into your arms with Aldrick saying “Congratulations, you are now Commander Scarlet Crocker.”

“Woah, woah, woah, what the hell is going on here?” You ask, looking down at the rather official looking uniform.
“What does it look like? I had an old friend enter you into the Federation military roster and boosted you up to my position. You are now a Commander in the Earth Federation Forces and after my resignation you be in charge of all the Colony Defense Forces on Zarth…well what’s left of them anyway.” Aldrick pulls a duffle bag out of the closet and begins taking things off his office wall.

“Is this really necessary? Isn’t this against well…everything in the military? ” You ask as Aldrick packs his things.

“Yes but when has your family ever really been about rules and regulations?” Aldrick asks, making you realize Dad wouldn’t have a problem pulling this stunt. What he would have is Aldrick just running off.
“Why the hell are you doing this Aldrick? I’m confident in my abilities, but I don’t know anything about being a Commander or running what equates to a small army, you have to stay-“

(continued)
>>
>>25530580
“No.” Aldrick turns back at you, eyes furrowing. “I apologize if I’m coming off like a coward and a prick to you Scarlet. No one should be in your position, but after that near death crash in the Proto-Clanche I realized that the grim reaper had a fondness for me that I didn’t realize. On top of that my wife and child were told I was dead. If I don’t get back down to Earth I may never see my son again and I refuse to leave Seric in the hands of that psychotic bit-“ Aldrick catches himself and sighs, continuing to pack his things.

“I can’t stay here Scarlet. I can’t. The forces here are completely disorganized and mostly destroyed. The whole base needs to be rebuilt, the survivors need to be located and brought back to duty and you’re going to need fresh men to be recruited and trained from the local residents and…well a lot more stuff. However I’m sure you’ll be able to work things out yourself…”

>[A] Fuck you Aldrick. You’re not going anywhere. You’re going to stay here weather you want to or not. I’m the Commander now remember? You’re not going to leave me high and dry

>[B] I’m sorry for your situation Aldrick but you can’t just run off and leave me without any kind of assistance. What would your Son think of you if he found out that you left me here knowing there’s a good chance I’ll get screwed over?

>[C] Fine. Go. Whatever. If your wife is as bad as she says she is I don’t want to know what she’s going to do to your son now that she thinks your dead. Get the fuck out of my office and don’t come back.

"...fuck. Fine, I understand. Go to Earth and solve your stuff out. Best of luck with that."
"Just... Could you at least give me a quick tour on what I should do? What's the status? At least brief me properly, damn it."
"I guess I could call grandpa to help as well, he was the first commander here..."
>>
>>25530647

seconding this.

Also Crosswire, you asked for reminders to update your Twitter with a link... So, Consider yourself reminded...
>>
So Scarlet is going to end up a commander without graduating high school.
Damn, Mellis is going to kill Aldrick for this.
>>
>>25530591
"And you chose me rather than any of the other people here who actually have military experience? We've got three capital ships worth of soldiers, even if a third of them are pirates. I understand that you need to go work things out with your family, but what the hell are you doing giving command to a 17 year-old girl with no formal training?"
>>
>>25530934
That's actually a good point.
I can understand his situation, but I can't understand him choosing Scarlet when there's a bunch of more competent people running around.
Maybe Seric's dad is actually a Vagan collaborator?
>>
>>25530591
"Okay, sir, I understand your situation, and I wish you the best of luck with that. Just, before you leave, two questions."
"Number one. Could you at least tell me what to do, what's the status of the forces? I'm the best pilot around, but I don't know shit about commanding."
"And number two. Why the fuck did you choose me when there're dozens of more competent people with more military experience running around?"
>>
>>25530982
This.

This is all so very suspicious.
>>
>>25530746
(Thank you for the reminders)

>>25530934
"And you chose me rather than any of the other people here who actually have military experience? We've got three capital ships worth of soldiers, even if a third of them are pirates. I understand that you need to go work things out with your family, but what the hell are you doing giving command to a 17 year-old girl with no formal training?"

"Because your Jake's daughter Scarlet. Your family is capable of great things. That and..." Aldrick looks around and walks over to you. He leans over and whispers in your ear. "You are the only person I trust besides your father..."

He backs up and continues packing. "It'll take to long to brief you or anything else. I need to leave as soon as possible. You have family and friends here to help. I'm sure you'll do fine. Goodbye Scarlet..."

[A] Let the man leave, it obvious something fucked up is going on.

[B] Refuse to allow him to leave unless he stays and helps you through at least the basics of what you need to do.

[C] Refuse to allow him to leave period. Not until you get answers on all of this shit, he's acting way to suspicious to be allowed to go anywhere.

>>25531118
"Just give me a minute."
Take out your phone, and write a message on it, but don't send it:
"We can talk like this. What's going on? You're acting really suspicious."
All the while, just keep making small chat to throw off the bugs (if there are any bugs in the office).

>>25531087
Option A: He's working for the Vagan, or they have his family and he must do what he's told.
Option B: He's working for Leviathan, and they hope for Scarlet to fail so that they can swoop in and save the day. That way, they tarnish the Crocker's reputation, and come out as big damn heroes.
>>
>>25531118

Nothing is going to stop him leaving. And it seems that we now have a considerable amount of learning to do...

Firstly, Get in contact with Uncle Hogan. He has experience in leading troops and technically now one of our Co-Commanders...

Technically we have virtual experience due to Games and LARP...
>>
>>25531194
Uncle Hogan, Grandpa Jack, and Mom. I think Mellis is in charge of the Camelot and it's test pilots, so she should be of great help with this.
>>
>>25531118
"Oh no. You don't get to leave that easily. I'm sure you'd rather have your son think you're dead for another few days than have him die from a colony drop. I'll let you go, but not before you brief me properly on the situation so I don't get us all killed. You have three days to assemble your report."

And then while we have him occupied get Mom and Aunt Dorothy to run whatever checks they can to tell if Aldrick's being blackmailed or some such. I wouldn't be surprised if the "psychotic bitch" he cut himself off from talking about isn't his wife but a Vagan agent.
>>
>>25531312
Would the Vagan spy holding his family be okay with him spending 3 days here writing a report?
He probably has been in contact with whoever is holding his son hostage, and that he's obviously following their orders.
We definitely should check out if he's been blackmailed, but there's no reason to risk his son's life for a report.

Let him leave after you communicate with him using some secret way, like writing a message or something.
After that, investigate the living shit out of this, while being tutored in the art of commanding.
>>
>>25531613
Good point. I had overlooked that. We should still get him to give us a brief briefing before he goes, though.
>>
>>25531660
Agreed on that.
He can probably bullshit his way through the report ("They'd be suspicious if I didn't brief them") while writing Scarlet a secret message about what's going on.
>>
what are the chances that he isn't being manipulated or blackmailed by anyone and just really wants to leave....
>>
>>25531721
There's always the chance that he's a coward, sure, and that his son would have to work his ass off so that he could restore the family name.
He could have called his wife and told her that he isn't dead, or he could've called central command and inform them that he isn't KIA. Being reported dead would allow him to escape from active duty, but God have mercy on his ass when he's found out - and he's been seen by too many people here for that thing to work.

On a side note, him being still reported dead even though everybody knows that he's alive could mean that he's being blackmailed by someone working in the intelligence / reporting (I'm not sure how you call that) department. So our blackmailer is probably someone going through all the reports from the colonies, which is pretty bad.
>>
>>25531312
"Oh no. You don't get to leave that easily. I'm sure you'd rather have your son think you're dead for another few days than have him die from a colony drop. I'll let you go, but not before you brief me properly on the situation so I don't get us all killed. You have three days to assemble your report."

Aldrick looks at you, stressed, aggravated and in the mood for zero bullshit. "I'll write the report now, in three hours and I'll tell you what you need to do as a commander"

-Base-
HQ is still intact. It can house and feed about 50 guys. It has a basic infirmary, a moderate mess hall, an advanced brig, two large hangers, a basic barracks and a small machine shop. However several wings were completely destroyed in the attack and until you send down some people to fix them up you won’t know what they were.

Outside of the HQ just about everything was demolished.

>Personnel
37 men available at the HQ
15 are HQ personal, they work in the various facilities keeping everything running and secure. Taking them away and asking them to do other jobs may hurt the upkeep and operation of the HQ; it also might allow unsavory people to enter

10 are the 101st Technical Evaluation and Testing Division, the guys who were working with the Proto-Clanche. They are great at repairs, engineering and get bonuses towards working with untested or prototype equipment. They can also kind of function as replacements for scientists if you’re in a pinch.

12 are surviving base personnel, you’ll need to look them over and evaluate them but most of them look like standard mooks, but you’ll have to check them yourself to make sure

>Equipment
Outside of some EM Bullpups very little equipment survived the Vagan onslaught.

(cont)
>>
>>25531883
>Outer Colony Situation
All of our defense forces in Minsry have been wiped out, however the research facility there and CDACE are perfectly fine with no casualties and very little damage.

Fairdain is doing fine, the Vagan didn't focus too much of their attention on there. They should be able to provide additional protection for Minsry until we're back on our feet and back to sharing responsibility.

"As for what you need to do to be a good commander. First is to stay organized. There is a lot of fucking paperwork and bullshit you need to get through, having someone to help with that is key. Second thing you need to do is keep in mind the condition of your forces and the facilities under your command, maintaining them and upgrading them as you see fit sounds good but you also have to keep in mind the people involved with them. Third thing is your reputation. What your men think of you is important and who they see you interacting with is also a big issue. If they see you hanging around pirates and criminals, they'll start to think negatively of you, so keep that in mind. You can't control what they think, all you can do is make yourself come off as best as possible." Aldrick grabs his shit and throws on his coat.

"Good luck, god speed and watch yourself." Aldrick leaves after the three hours with the report and a speed run on what a commander should do.

"Commander! Best of luck, and if you need anything, give us a call, alright?"
>>
>>25531981
You are left alone in a mostly empty, un-decorated, and barely furnished office holding a Commander’s uniform with the knowledge the fate of about a million people or so lies in the decisions and choices you will make.

You decide to start with the first, simplest but oddly important decision that comes to your mind. Your Commander's uniform.

>[A]Fix the uniform. If you’re going to wear this monkey suit you’re going to make it look kickass. Make it red, maybe add some red leather and latex. Make it look cool like something one of your PC’s in D20 Future would wear!

>[B] You must be formal, must be desecrate. Just put the uniform on and try to act like normal even though it would look cool in red…

>[C] Forget the uniform. Not like anyone would believe you’re the new Commander anyway, even though it wouldn't be totally farfetched to those who didn’t know you.

>[D] Other
>>
>>25532036
>[B]
Remember not to wear the scarf too tight, and the hat crooked. Captain Anus got alot of disrespect for being unsure and little things and hints like the state of her uniform. And the soldiers WILL pick up on shit like that.
>>
>>25531981
"Good luck with your family, Commander Abis. But stop acting so nervous. It doesn't look good for a base commander to leave so suspiciously. We wouldn't want to give anyone any ideas about your reliability, right? Anyway, feel free to keep in touch. Give your son my regards."
>>
>>25532036
At least try to look formal, but it's obvious that you really don't care about the uniform.. If we had the time, we should make our own badass captain's coat like dad has.
Call mom, grandpa, and Hogan to fill them in on the situation. We need every bit of help we can get.
>>
>>25532036
We make ourselves look respectable. Custom uniforms are something we can do after we've established a reputation. For now we need to look official. If we really want some personal expression we can do it with an insignia patch on our pilot suit. For our command post, we do things by the book.
>>
>>25532036
>[B] You must be formal, must be desecrate. Just put the uniform on and try to act like normal even though it would look cool in red…

May as well look the part.
>>

You take a deep breath. As kickass as a custom uniform would be, you realize you have to earn the right to wear something that cool. You decide to put on the uniform as it is and look as formal and professional as you can.

Once you are properly dressed you call Mom, Grandpa and Hogan and explain the situation to them. They are concerned about Aldrick, but considering he narrowly escaped death and his family thinks he's dead it's possible he just wanted out of the military. At the moment things are quiet which might be a good time to get your office in order and think about some basic stuff.

The office is a goddamn mess. Paper’s strewn about, file cabinets open and Aldrick forgot to unlock his computer! Absolutely wonderful, the prick obviously kept up to date so you could figure out the current condition of everything but he didn’t bother to clean up? Ugh. You’re going to need to appoint someone as your secretary or something so they can help clean and organize this crap and keep everything in order while you focus on the important stuff
Let’s see there is…

(cont)
>>
>>25532312
>[A] Mellis! Mom fucking hates paperwork but it would be amusing if you could for her to wear some kind of formal secretary uniform or something. She probably would suck at organizing but she’d have plenty of advice and ideas to spare, of course if you want that you could always just ask for it.

>B] Aunt Rysis! She’s insane but she’s obviously a good planner. However you suspect she’s been trying to convince you to ‘join her’ for quite a while. She’s completely insane and you have no idea the lengths or plans she would go to convince, trick or force you into becoming her personal side kick. However she’d probably make for a brilliant secretary, good planner, organizer and advice up the wazzo along with plenty of material for a case of work place sexual harassment.

>[C] Didn’t Aldrick has a secretary? Last time you checked most secretary’s didn’t charge onto the battlefield so she/he should be alive somewhere, it should just be a matter of hunting them down and dragging them back here. However you have no idea if they are competent or incompetent.

As long as we're aware Rysis is insane, and trying to get in our pants, then she's probably the best bet for a Advisor/Secretary. Just have someone else around to keep an eye on her.
Besides, she'll probably wear a short ass skirt and show some cleave as her secretary uniform.

You decide to make Rysis your secretary. She's completely insane and has been trying to corrupt you since you first hit puberty but outside of that she has all the good qualities for a secretary/adviser.

After calling Aunt Rysis to your office you decide to try and hack Aldrick's computer so you can adjust the settings and check the staff database to make sure it lines up with the written reports.

"Apparently, I got selected to be the commanding officer of the Federation forces, without anybody asking me or telling me that I was even considered for the job, and apparently I can't refuse. And now... I'm lost. I have all this responsibility on my shoulders, I have to organize and help and lead these people, something I never even dreamed I'd have to do. And it's frightening me."

"So please, Rysis. Please. I need your help. I need someone to help me organize this sorry mess and save the colonies And someone who can teach me how to do with whatever resources I have available. And someone I trust. I know you have a history with the Feds, but this has nothing to do with them. Help me protect the colonies, something you did long ago."

Seconding this one. Just don't order her to clean up, she'll probably make a bigger mess just to spite us.
We can shoot ideas with her while we clean up and she hacks that thing. After that, we go do the commandery stuff with her giving us tips.
We should probably ask Mellis as well, considering how she's the de facto commander of the Camelot.

As for our forces, we should call that guy from Fardain and ask him if he could spend some troops to help protect Minsry while we get everything going.
Local forces are to be regrouped, have their suits repaired and rearmed, and the pilots should get their deserved rest and get their injuries treated.
Hogan and his men could patrol the perimeter, while the Camelot crew should get working on producing better suits and weaponry. Or at least upgrade the existing.
As for repairing the base, we could call in the local workers, while the military's engineers should focus on the suits themselves.
>>
>>25533960
>working on producing better suits and weaponry
Which reminds me, what about a DODS Carbine or something? If one DODS beam doesn't work, we could try making a gun that shits one area with a couple and see if that has any effect.
>>
Let's see what do we know of the current situation:

> Fardain
Relatively untouched by the attack.
Is the largest colony.
Lots of military personel.
Lots of resources.

> Minsry
All troops are obliterated.
The colony itself is protected by CDACE, but he can't leave the colony except in case of it being destroyed. And in that case, his primary function is the evacuation of civilians.
Has the secret base where the defected Vagan scientists work.
Possibly lots of resources, but most of them are either food or medicine.

> Zarth
Large part of troops defeated.
Currently docked with the Camelot and the Baronche.
Damaged HQ for the local forces.
Lots of industrial resources.

Did I miss something?

>>25534119
I think we made those back in Gen-1. We have DODS shotguns, snipers, Gatlings and so on.
I'd rather that we focus on railguns - our bullpups have proven effective, but we should definitely upgrade their damage output.

Anyway, idea for the DODS: can we somehow add a magnetic property to the beam? Or heat?
We know that it is actually a particle weapon, so can we somehow make it fire ionized particles that could fuck up that EM armor.
>>
>>25534196
I don't think we did. We made the shotgun and gatling. But this would be designed to pretty much be a Beam Machine Gun. It'd fire DODS shots really fast to try and hit the same general area a number of times.

Honestly, hopefully we figure out Hyper DODS soon.
>>
>>25534340
It could work.

How about this, the Devastator Adele.
Basically, take the Adele and give it the Titus Wear, just modify it so that it isn't melee oriented, but focused on reducing recoil from firing it's heavy weapon.
It carries an assault DODS rifle (the beam machine gun) in one hand, and a pretty bigass shield - think something like a riot shield, but that almost covers the entire suit.
Give the damn thing a backpack power supply so that it doesn't run out of ammo anytime soon, and place it in a fitting position where it can cover an area.
It's mobility will be slow, so we could add some grenade launchers, and some smoke deployment system. Hell, we could even fit some rocket launchers on its shoulders.
>>
>>25534438
Speaking of Adele Wears, can we build the Starks Wear? Melee seems to work really well against EM Armor, and Starks was pretty effective in canon.

The biggest problem with it being:
>Despite the Stark's overall performance, the wear pack itself is deemed to be dangerous in high speeds when used by a normal MS pilot and only those with powerful X-Rounder skills can fully utilize the Starks Wear Pack.
>>
>>25534481
I don't see why not, the only problem is that we haven't researched it yet or lack of trained personnel (read, X-Rounders).
Those things would come in handy in protecting the Devastators and driving the enemy into their firing range, or just splitting the enemy formation apart.

If I remember correctly, there was no tactical thinking in AGE, most of the battles were just throwing wave after wave of identical mooks against each other while the main characters got to do their shit.
So, we could have the Starks blast through an enemy formation, the Devastators suppressing the enemy so they can't regroup, and some other wear just kill their shit.

"I'm going to look at what we have in regards to men. Could you clean this place up and crack this computer while I'm gone? I need to look over what we have before I call in for backup from Fairdain" You ask as you check yourself

"Commander Scarlet, amongst one of the people we have here on base one of them is a doctor..."

"Are you saying I need to see a doctor?" You ask.

"No, no you're perfectly healthy and besides I don't think she would agree to do a boob job. Mostly because she's not a normal doctor. I believe she was doing research into drugs to enhance a pilots performance, I believe you might want to talk to her if you get the chance. She's in the barracks along with some of the survivors." Rysis suggests as she begins to pick up the man scattered papers.

Where would you like to go Scarlet?

Would you like to view over the entirety of the HQ and the destroyed base, or do you only want to look over the personnel?

full inspection. Should give us more information in regards to prioritizing the reconstruction work...
>>
>>25534711
Let's view the entire base. We're going to spend a lot of time here.
Call Mellis along, we could ask her for some advice and catch up.
>>
While we're getting acquainted with the HQ, let's hunt down Aldrick's assistant.
He probably has some info he could give us - contract, whatever, as well as some clues about why Aldrick acted the way he did.

Yes, finding the secretary would be important.

Officers and directors may come and go, but the secretary always stays.

You call up Mom to see if she'll join you for your full inspection of the HQ and the destroyed base.

"Sorry hun I'm...busy with something at the moment" You hear cheering in the background and the sound of someone yelling "UNCLE" in a rather painful voice.

"Jeez Mom, brawling with the pirates AGAIN? Just come over when you can I need some advice right about now..."

You tour the HQ and the base by yourself. For the most part the HQ is intact, save for the Armory, the Sub-Offices (which included things like the Quartermaster and the usual hum-drum workings of the base), and the Lab which is a caved in wreck that you can't even walk into. The places that aren't damaged are perfect, the places that are need to be rebuilt from scratch.

Going out to the base seems a waste when you get there. Nothing but craters, burnt out mobile suit hulls and the smell of death. It makes you realize just how hard you got hit and how you're going to need to step up the defenses when you rebuild the base. However you should probably get the HQ in operating order before you do anything else.

>>25535144
>>25535176

You go to the barracks again and meet the 12 some odd survivors. They're mostly paper pushers and greenhorn Ensigns with only basic training. One of them is Aldricks secretary who is currently sporting a cast. You inquire to why Aldrick left in such a hurry and the secretary, named Steve, frowns.

"He was pretty shook up about nearly dying. The thought of leaving his son with his wire terrified him more then death..."

"What's wrong with his wife?" You ask, hands on your hips.

(cont)
>>
>>25535216
"For one she's chemically imbalanced. I frankly don't know how Commander Aldrick got hooked with her in the first place, but I think it's because he can keep her in control and calm most of the time. However she's violent, abusive both emotionally and physically and tends to over medicate herself. Frankly I don't believe she should be up and about, however Aldrick never had the heart to institutionalize her."

"So he resigned and left me in this position because...?"

"Because if his wife thinks he's dead...well I don't want to think about what she's going to do. She might very well try to kill herself and her son." Steve looks rather worried. "Aldrick missed his flight by three hours and only got to leave a couple hours ago. He lives all the way on Earth so it'll be a while. God I hope his wife hasn't done anything stupid..."

"Fuck. I didn't know... I held him back to give me a proper briefing, I hope nothing bad happens."

"That's all we can do right now. Hope" Secretary Steve offers to come back to work and help out once his arm is healed, but that will be at least a month.

>>25535236
You looked around and find a young women, probably somewhere in her early 20's, sitting and reading what looks like a dictionary. She's not dressed in military fatigues, but civilians clothes and a labcoat.

"Excuse me are you a Doctor?" You ask.

"No I can not give you a boob job." She replies with a sigh.

"What? No. I'm Commander Scarlet, Commander Aldrick's replacement. I'm trying to figure out who's still alive and kicking. Who might you be?"

The women looks you up and down, quite surprised. "Such a young women at this rank? Hmmm, there's something about you..." She gets up and begins to circle you, looking you over.

"Doctor?" You ask, snapping your fingers to get her attention.

"Oh! I'm sorry. Forgive me, I have a thing about analyzing people in powerful positions. I'm Doctor Halsey. Doctor Halsey Hearts. I was the chief researcher here until the lab was blown to high heaven. Shaldoll crashed right though the ceiling. I only survived because I left to take a piss."

What questions do you have for the Doctor?
>>
>>25535267
Hopefully Seric doesn't die. He's one of the best Gen 3 characters.

Rysis recommended I meet you. Apparently you specialise in Combat Drugs?
>>
>>25535323
"What exactly were you working on? It was mentioned it was something about combat drugs, nobody around here seems able to give me a straight answer."
>>
>>25535323
"Well, glad to have you still alive, I need every person I can get.

I was told you were researching combat drugs for pilots. What other fields are you capable in? Have you gotten results from the drugs yet? Any major side effects?"
>>
>>25535323
"What's the situation on the men here? I'm thinking of calling for additional doctors and supplies from Minsry, so I came to ask you about that."
"That, and I'm getting acquainted with all the people here so... It's nice to meet you. What were you working on here, exactly?"

>>25535327
Hopefully. Hey, for all we know, Dirk saves him when he arrives at Big Ring.

>>25535367
>"What exactly were you working on? It was mentioned it was something about combat drugs, nobody around here seems able to give me a straight answer."

"Not combat drugs really. My research involved, well to put it in simple terms I was researching in developing a drug cocktail or a series of drugs that would allow for the permanent enhancement of a pilots physical capabilities" Dr. Halsey explains.

"Wait, you were making Super Soldier Serums?" You ask, knowing enough about Sci-Fi to catch on.

"I guess you could call it that. Yes. However I still haven't found a good combination. I have some working serums and drug combos but it's a work in progress. There's a lot of factors, the person, that person's genes, the drugs being used, the amount of the drugs being used, how much is being injected, where they are injected..." Dr. Halsey shakes her head.

"Have you had positive results?" You ask, your interest peeked.

"Overall yes. LEVITHAN sent me over some candidates and they're doing excellent in the field with no or very minor side effects. At this point I can make moderately potent serums specialized to a suitable candidate, however I know the serum can produce much better results. All I need to do is find or develop better drugs and research what factors would make the perfect candidate. However until my lab is rebuilt I'm afraid I'm only good has a quack Doctor." Halsey shrugs her shoulders.

>>25535372
"What's the situation on the men here? I'm thinking of calling for additional doctors and supplies from Minsry, so I came to ask you about that."

"The men are mostly healthy. 15 are the surviving base workers, 10 are from that test team that was working on that transforming MS and the 12 oddballs including myself are a mishmash of survivors. I would suggest getting Doctors and supplies, but I don't think Fairdain will send any permanent replacements" Dr. Halsey states, pointing out some men to you.

"Why not?"

(cont)
>>
>>25535519
"Wait. Leviathan?"
>>
>>25535519
"Well the Zalam/Euba troops are all trained separately but are trained to work together. When their men are stationed in non-Zalam/Euba units they tend to pick up habits or techniques that make it difficult for them to synchronize with their fellow troops when they come back. They may send a squad of men and an MS team, probably plenty of doctors, but they'll only be temporary" Dr. Halsey explains. "It's nothing personal, just a flaw in their doctrine."

Any other questions Scarlet?
>>
>>25535323
Is this Wendy's mom? We are just all about meeting the parents of Gen 3 characters, aren't we?

Incidentally, we should ask Secretary Steve if he knows Mrs. Abis' phone number or email. We will send her a message as soon as we're done talking to the doctor. We're not getting Seric killed.

"Rysis told me that you were doing work on human augmentation. She was kind of sparse on the details, just said that it was useful for pilot performance enhancement. What are we talking about here?"
>>
>>25535546
"Leviathan? You've been doing stuff for them? Any chance you can twist their and Grodek's arm into sending us the stuff I want?

What do you know personally about the other 'oddballs'? Have your serums shown any side effects?"
>>
>>25535546
"I see. Yeah, too bad about the Fairdain men. I'll try to get some doctors and supplies over from Minsry, at least - they have those in bulk."
"Do you have any other ideas what I could get? Maybe something that'd improve our infirmary - as far as I know, it's really, really basic. Hell, we could get that from Minsry as well."
"Also, you mentioned Leviathan? Could you tell me a bit about them?"

>>25535634
Wanna bet that Akito is one of the super soldiers? And that the Yamato guy (the geneticist Rena mentioned) is working with them?
>>
>>25535540
"Wait. Leviathan?" Concern spreads across your face, confusing Dr. Halsey for a moment.

"Oh I forgot no one knows about them yet. They're this Anti-Vagan task-force gearing up to launch a massive offensive against the Vagan. They utilize and fund a tremendous amount of research programs, my own included." Dr. Halsey explains. "They're dedicated men and women, but just a tad on the fanatical side if you ask me. I accidentally broke a needle off in one of the candidates arms he barely dashed an eyebrow."

>>25535634
"What do you know personally about the other 'oddballs?" You ask, looking over the mixed group of men.

"Outside of the secretary they're mostly new recruits or paper pushing grunts. Not very useful, they'll probably be able to help out with simple manual labor and other minor tasks but not much else."

"Have your serums shown side effects?" You ask, going back to the serum topic.

"Not my recent ones, but the older serums had rather nasty side effects. Internal bleeding, hallucinations, panic attacks, seizures, and eventual coma or a complete psychotic melt down. Thankfully they were all deranged criminals, god bless the Federation for it's semi-ethical human testing program."

>>25535688

"Do you have any other ideas what I could get? Maybe something that'd improve our infirmary - as far as I know, it's really, really basic. Hell, we could get that from Minsry as well."

"I guess you could get medical supplies, but your real priority should be to rebuild my lab and the other destroyed wings, then get to work on recruiting more men and rebuilding the base. Sick men will be the least of your problems when the Vagan attack." Dr. Halsey warns.

>>25535584
Secretary Steve gives up Commander, or rather Former Commander Aldrick's contact information however he's probably in transit to Earth so he probably won't have anything new to share.
>>
>>25535784
No, not Aldrick's. His wife's, if Steve has that. We're a commander now, there has to be something we can do to get the death notice rescinded and her informed of that.
>>
>>25535784
First off, introduce yourself to the oddballs. Tell them that you'll do everything you can to keep them safe, and that we're going to kick some Vagan ass. Ask Steve if he has the email of Mrs Abis, we need to inform her that her husband is alive and coming home. Then, send Aldrick an apology about how we didn't know about his problems, and how we wish him all the best.

Then call Minsry, tell them to send us some medical supplies and a couple of capable doctors. Hell, maybe we can move the rehabilitation center (for those too wounded to do stuff, or those unable to quickly return to active duty) over there, where they can heal and recover properly.

Finally, call the construction agency (Zarth has that, right?) and tell them to send us some of their workers over here, we need this base up and running.
>>
>>25535784
>>25535892
Secretary Steve apologizes, he doesn't have Mrs. Abis's contact information. He's not even sure he owns a phone. Besides, if Mr. Abis could have called her, he would have.

"God damn it, this is when I wish I could hack and shit. I'm sure an intelligence agency would be able to find her easily..." You groan to yourself.

"Don't feel to bad about it. Knowing Mrs. Abis she's ether already done something horrible, or is wracked with grief and practically catatonic." Secretary Steve pats you on the shoulder comfortingly.

You try calling Aldrick but don't get a response. You send him a heartfelt apology text and hopes he bothers to read it.

You call up Minsry and have them send over some doctors, medical supplies and after some begging from Dr. Halsey, some scientists/researchers.

"I'll have them over as soon as I can Scarlet, just try to get back on your feet as soon as you can OK? It was a close call last time, they were gunning for us." Uncle Zeek explains.

You call up Zarth Constructions and get in contact with someone named Bob. You explain the situation and the man replies. "OK, but how do you plan to pay?"

You pause in thought...

Well Scarlet? How will you plan to pay. You aren't familiar with how a Commander would go about this. Do you bill it to the Federation military?
>>
>>25536334
"You're aware that if we don't get this goddamn thing running we're all toast, right. But I see your point."

"Let me cut you a deal."
"I'll bill this job to the Federation, and I'll arrange that you get jobs on Minsry and Fairdain if you get here as soon as you can and somehow improve the already existing structure. I'm talking about reinforcing this thing, adding new stuff, improving the living shit of this baby. And as an extra, I'll see that Jake Crocker himself gets you new jobs in the future."

"How does that sound?"
>>
>>25536334
We can bill it to the Federation military, and if need be we'll dip into the Crocker family fund, because with all the patents and production our family has done we have a lot of money floating around.

>>25536458
This looks good.
>>
>>25536458

"Hmmmm. Alright. I didn't know it was that bad. I'll take an IOU on this one and you can put it on the Federations Tab. However you'll probably have to come back and confirm everything when it comes time for me to collect my money, the Federation is finky on this shit. It's a deal. I'll send some of my guys up and an architect to talk things over with you. It should be about an hour." Bob explains.

"Alright. Thanks" Hanging up the phone, you feel a little more secure now that you've gotten things moving. However there's still some spare time left before Bob's builders stop by.

What do you wish to do Commander Scarlet?
>>
>>25536760
Do we have an AGE builder lying around, or at least some manner of manufacturing? As we really need to replace our contingent of Mobile Suits and weaponry.
>>
>>25536760
Call Fairdain. We need their troops.
Minsry's forces got destroyed - Fairdain should send some troops over there. And they should send some troops over here as well - tell them how we'll make sure Jack Crocker teaches them some nasty tricks they could later introduce to their combat doctrine. I'm hoping they send us some of their military instructors so that Gen-3 Fairdain forces are all dirty fighters inspired by the Jack of Pumpkins.

While this is going on, send our engineers to repair the mobile suits and make more weapons. Also, link all the suits (all of them) with the AGE builder - hopefully it can make something new using all that data, like the HDODS rifle.
>>
Rolled 95

>>25536824
We actually have two. The one at our house that we moved to the base, and the one on the Camelot. We have all the rapid prototyping we could want.
>>
>>25537134
Fucking. Awesome.
First, let them exchange data, then have one get all the combat data from the suits to develop new weapons while the other works on manufacturing stuff.
The engineers should repair the suits and make stuff while we arrange for Fairdain forces to haul ass over here.
>>
>>25536965
You call Fairdain and explain the situation. They agree to send some men and mobile suits, but they are only temporary. An infantry company and a squad of mobile suits are on their way. However due to the nature of the Zalam/Euba's soldiers unique training, you'll probably have to ask Grandpa Jack to train all the recruits you get.

>>25536824
>>25537200
Yes. There is an AGE Builder currently aboard the Magic Schoobus to allow it to use it's Photon Blaster Cannon and another AGE Builder aboard the Camelot.

You'll have them exchange data but you realize you should focusing on actually getting

Actually, you should probably call and set up a meeting with Dorthy and Hogan. Your lack of men is a big issue, so you'll probably need to borrow some manpower from them.
>>
>>25537336
Oh, did we move the home Builder to the Magic School Bus? Makes it a bit more inconvenient, but I'd rather have to haul parts to and from the ship than not have Photon Blaster Cannon support when we need it.
>>
>>25537336
Yeah, let's do that.
Call Hogan, Dorothy, Mellis and Rysis over for a talk. Hell, call grandpa as well, he'll be in charge of training from now on.
We're going to need all the manpower we can get, and the pirates and the MBS are our best bet for that.
>>
(Kind of slowing down a bit)

>>25537381
Dad had the AGE Builder moved to the Magic School Bus. After all, you'll need the long range firepower of the Photon Blaster Cannon since you don't have any proper defenses remaining.

>>25537419
You call together everyone important and set up a meeting in the cafeteria.
Hogan, Arnold and some of his crew come along. Dorthy, Ralphie, Tim and Arnold come from the Magic Schoolbus. Liz is absent since she's at Big Ring working as head of the MS R&D section now. Mellis brings some of the test pilots from the Camelot out and Grandpa Jack comes along as well. Grandma and him are staying on base where it's relatively safer.

What do you want to talk to the assembly about exactly?"

Well Commander Scarlet?
>>
>>25537667
Ask for people to point out whatever problems they see that need to be resolved, and how they feel the problems should be resolved.

That should give us something to do.
>>
>>25537667
Liz is at Big Ring? Cool. Is she going to wind up mentoring Remi Ruth in the fine art of not dying?
>>
>>25537667
"So... Yeah, hi. I wish we could meet without the imminent threat of death looming over our heads, and me screwing everything over."
"I guess you've all been briefed on the situation - most of our defenses have been defeated, the HQ is wrecked, and the list of crap we're in goes on."
"And that's what this meeting is for. I've no idea what to do, and I need all of your input and help if we're to manage to get through this."

"First, a small update: I've managed to get us some scientists and doctors from Minsry, as well as medical supplies."
"And a local contractor is going to begin repairing the base in about an hour, and Fairdain is sending us some men over, so at least something's being done."
"I'll give the order for the engineers to begin repairing and manufacturing new suits, weapons and ammo."

"But even so, we need more men, which brings me to my first question: Would Captain Hogan and Captain Dorothy be willing to exchange some men with us?"
"Next question, would the legendary Jack of Pumpkins be willing to train the local recruits?"
>>
>>25537806
Let's first save Aldrick's son, then we can take care of Remi.
On a side note, Dirk's first encounter with Liz is going to be interesting.

Everyone seems pleased with the news that things are getting done around here thanks to you. The questions are received somewhat positively.

"I should have enough men on my crew to lend you some, however it would depend on what specifically you want them for. If it's something simple then I have plenty of men, if it's something specific like surgery or engineering then I'm going to be hard pressed to spare anyone without risking the efficiency of my ship" Dorthy explains.

"My crew is used to running on a below average crew level. Have as many men as you like, just leave me a skeleton crew OK?" Hogan asks.

>>25538355
"I'd happily train any young farts you bring to me. I'll whip them into shape." Grandpa Jack says with a grin. "Quick question though, what you do plan on focusing on first? Recruiting or recovering your scattered men? Not all of the defense forces were killed, many of them were disabled or shot down, however they haven't returned. They may have deserted...but maybe something else happened to them. What do you plan to do Scarlet?"

(Alright guys I think I'm gonna stop here tonight. Things as slowing down and we can pick this up tomorrow. So, thoughts on playing as Scarlet?)
>>
>>25538373
"First, thank you all. Second, right now we need to split into groups so we can multitask."

"One group will need to stay here and help with the restoration and protection of the base, while another groups goes searching and recovering our men. Captain Hogan, I'd like you to stay behind and help with the base for two reasons - number one, each one of your men is a capable engineer, and number two, I don't want friendly fire when somebody notices a pirate out in the open. The Camelot crew will join you in this, if they're willing."

"Another group will have to go out and recover our men. I'd like the crew of the Magic Schoolbus to do this job. While I'd love to have some fresh recruits, I'd rather save our men that are out there than start from scratch. So, I'll be joining you in this search and rescue mission."

"We recover who we can, but I'm not counting on them to form our forces. Hogan, do you think your men are up for a search mission? Not to stereotype, but I expect pirates would have an easier time of hunting down derelict mobile suits than the average person. I want any leads we can get on where the pilots could have gone. Still, we can't rely on them for the majority of our soldiers, even if we recovered the survivors we took too many casualties. I'm going to need to run a recruitment program. I'll contact my friends in the mobile suit club, see if I they know anyone willing to pilot a real machine instead of a competition model. I hate to say it, but I'm probably going to have to recruit from the graduating class of students. Oh well. If I'm old enough to be drafted, so are they."
>>
>>25538824
She can be both. She'll be a lead from the front commander, going full-on Lady Char. You know what, I want to contrive an excuse to call her that in-character, now. Sort of a parallel to Captain Ash. Like, she fights through so much enemy fire that her paint job is carbonized black, and she becomes known as the Charred Lady to her soldiers. Or something less stupid than that, I don't know.
