Good Evening Gentlemen! A pleasure to see you! <3

And so, the story of our very dear murderous toy continues...

Our very dear Akuma-chan... Now known as Faefnir
Forged out of a once-baker's soul named Claire... A pitiful woman that had been strangled to death by a beggar for her creation of love.
Called back by her since child-hood friend, Jacob, that had always looked upon Claire fondly, oh so fondly..
Once I granted the dear her body, she killed the man out of spite for turning her into a delightful monster!

And so now, she wears his skin and kills humans in secret to spread the despair that gave her this wonderful second life!
She has also continued baking bread. <3

Welcome to the quest of the Akuma, Good Evening... <3

This is the story thus far!
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Akuma%20Quest

These are your current stats and abilities as of now!
http://pastebin.com/CuLptHEL

And Something pertaining to your allies! <3
http://pastebin.com/49TZ3QUn

With the Witch known to be good and in chains and an evening that would otherwise be wasted, Faefnir took his dear family out for the night, leaving their camp, woefully unattended...

At the Tavern known as The Staggering Stag, the family partakes in their own choices of festivities, though Faefnir just so happens to be quite a busybody...

After antagonizing a man that simply can't keep his story straight, he hits on a lady in arms in oh-so-suave a manor, causing her to threaten and Schwere to step up in defense.

However, the woman, as one of Schwere's "former" order, demands her presence, and of course you can't have that...

Hunting down the woman, a fight is had in the night, drawn away from the eyes of the people.

Yet the return to camp is not quite too happy...

Let us see where your adventures take you tonight, Dear Faefnir.
>>
You suddenly get a very, very terrible feeling...

You react quickly, using your very natural agility to advance upon the woman with what's almost a single step, the talismans following you, even now. You snort and set yourself aflame with your cloak of fire, burning off some of the papers, even as the woman's eyes go up in horror,” Say. Where do Akuma go when they die?”

Before she answers, you grab her by the face,"May the Good Doctor forgive your sins against him, for I will not" and throw her at the rest of the talismans, walking away with armbrust and not looking back.

An explosion of flame follows, the resulting airflow blowing past you even as you turn off the cloak of flame.
She should have used that earlier... much earlier... It was to your fortune that she must have still had some doubt back in the streets.

You glance back and see that her body has all but been reduced to ash, and already being blown away by the winds. Indeed, her pitiful gambit failed... Certainly serves her right. The only thing that remains is her armor, sword, and shield. You quickly command Armbrust to take up those things, and thank him for his help.
You return to the others, especially after this... loaded night.

- - - - - - - - - -
>>
At the camp, much to your dismay, you find much of it rooted threw, the cart overturned, what goods you had, now gone and the rest of it burned...

It seems that while away, someone decided that it was prudent to outright rob and pillage your things...

You sigh.
Schwere is upset by her missing book, Ivan and Armbrust miss the actual crossbow, Kama misses her bed, the children miss the “toys” (weapons), and Madeleine seems to be quite upset that her church robes are gone...

The only funds you have left are those that are on you...

Oh, and the horses are dead.
This is absolutely wonderful...
>>
This insult calls for vengeance, blood... You have been wronged and someone needs to pay for it... not just you either... they have wronged your family... This was the closest thing that they had to a home and now it's gone, essentially ruined.

“Ivan!” You shout out, to your most dependable friend, and comrade. He's at your side in a moment.

“Yes... What is it?” He speaks sadly after regarding the destruction... yet it's the sorrow that calls for satisfaction.

“Can you track them? The ones that did this?”

“Of course, Comrade. And when we find them, we'll rip them limb from limb, fill them with holes, and otherwise decimate them, yes?” His voice is calm and cold.

“Yes, that's exactly what we'll be doing, and more if possible...”

The demon-man gets down ti examine the tracks... there will be a hunt this night... let's just hope it won't carry on into the morning..
>>
Roll 1d100 please for tracking.
Devil's luck is presumed to be on! <3

Say darling dear Dwidly Duke, if we eat another Akuma, do we simply gain XP?

Couldn't we absorb something out of our fallen yet delicious brother?

Or maybe even bake it...
>>
>>25535547
>fallen yet delicious brother
Who do you mean? The one who attacked us?
>>
>>25535547

Technically, you could indeed consume it directly for an upgrade. Though for Faefnir's own.. shall we say... sanity, it will be limited to exp or a direct stat upgrade. And only provided that the akuma is superior in a given stat. Eating weaklings won't do much for you in the long run after all!
>>
>>25535570
He killed our mascot, stumpy. He's not coming out of this unscathed.

Akuma have shown the ability to devour their kin in the manga, so I think that it is a good way to take our revenge.

>>25535597
Thank you Duke!
>>
>>25535597
so when it comes to it, if it looks weaker, let's have one of the family eat it.
>>
>>25535615
Well, if he look stronger than us, we could eat hin for a direct strength upgrade. Thats always handy.
>>
You and Ivan soon find tracks leading to and away from the camp... Oversized Hoof-prints. The size of dinner plates.

"It must be level 2, much like ourselves. Things may get rough if it finds one of the others alone. They go into the woods, they are fresh.. The tracks are deep, and the stride is long. It is fast and heavy. How would you like to go about this, Faefnir?"

You take stock of everyone's condition... You had all been rather merry up until coming back to a nearly destroyed camp.. Schwere is stoic, as usual, Kama and the children are cleaning up carefully, and Madeleine is livid... She's extremely upset about Mr. Stumpy..

Armbrust stares at you, as does Schwere. They seem pretty calm, considering. Schwere must still be relieved that Rosalin is dead, however she spoke earlier that she may still have to report, that declaration was public, and if she didn't go, it'd still be suspicious...

In fact, it may be regardless.. You'll make the call when it's time...

>[] Everyone goes on the hunt, they'll cover more ground that way.
>[] Divide the groups., we need some to watch and clean up camp.
>[] (Other)
>>
>>25535700
[X] Divide the groups., we need some to watch and clean up camp.

Should either group howl the other group gets to them, I think if it comes back to camp we'll notice it before then, and one group ought to be able to keep it occupied for long enough for the other to catch up.
>>
>>25535700
>Everyone goes on the hunt

Other concerns can wait until later. Now, now is the time for unholy JUSTICE!!!
>>
>>25535700
>[] Divide the groups., we need some to watch and clean up camp.

Group A: Us, Ivan, and Madeleine.
Group B: everyone else.

Group A hunts, while group B watches the camp and cleans up a bit, getting rid of the remains of Mr. Stumpy.
>>
>>25535700
>>[x] Divide the groups., we need some to watch and clean up camp.
Lets leave Shwere, Kama and the kids at the camp so they can clean things up. Everyone else come with us to kill the fucker.

I say we leave Schwere at the camp as her gravity magic doesn't have much effect on akuma.
>>
>>25535770
are we sure it doesn't affect Akuma? I mean, could it affect them if she wanted it to affect them?
>>
>>25535788
The duke mentionned during the burning of the city that her magic didn't affect as strongly being of dark matter like Akumas.
>>
>>25535770

You'd be surprised just how strong her power is.

Despite dark matter resistance, a focused intent is far different than getting caught in the crossfire.
>>
>>25535809
Okay, Good to know.
>>
>>25535700
Some of our stuff was burned, right? This means the Akuma may have power over fire. It would be prudent if we came along for the hunt.

The guy also moves quickly, it seems. It may be prudent to only take along the ones who can keep up, fight at range, or take a hit from a physically oriented Akuma.

Keep Ivan, Kama, Kralle, and Wendel at the camp.

We take the rest with us. Armbrust for his rapid fire, Schwere to slow down the guy/possibly speed us up, and Madeleine for defense.
>>
>>25535809
In this case, I saw we keep her around for the hunt. Gravity will be an asset against a fast opponent.
>>
Final answers?
>>
>>25535901
How good are we at tracking? also, how good is Armburst at tracking?
>>
>>25535901
Splitting seems to be the majority vote, but how to do so varies.

Kama and the kids are definitely staying, but some contention on the others.

Us going in the hunting group is definitely a given. And I retract my vote of leaving Ivan behind; he's the only one with experience in tracking. As for who else we can bring, we should definitely take Schwere along. She can ride on our back, if need be, when we're in combat. Just so that she can concentrate on using her magic.
>>
>>25535932

Faefnir is alright at tracking, can follow prints at the least.

Armbrust and Ivan are much better trackers, with Ivan being your best.

Faefnir: Mediocre
Armbrust: Okay
Ivan: Exemplary
>>
>>25535982
Ivan is definitely coming then. And if I'm reading this right, we're about to fight another akuma. How much exp is a Level 2 worth my good Duke? Probably more than the average poorfag we hate so much, but not as much as an exorcist is my guess. Am I right?

Even if we don't get any exp he still has to die. Y'know, JUSTICE and all that jazz.
>>
>>25536050

More than a tortured victim, less than an exorcist.
>>
>>25535982
Okay, so, my new suggestion is.

Hunting Group: Us, Armburst, Schwere, and Madeleine.

all in favor?
>>
>>25536110
Yeah, I'm okay with this.
>>
>>25536110
What about Ivan
>>
"Schwere, Madeleine, Armbrust, Ivan, we're hunting down this vile perpetrator and destroying it for this insult." The Akuma nod and head for the edge of the woods, They have a conviction that's normally unlike them...

You motion to Kama, Wendel and Kralle," The rest of you clean up this camp while we're gone. Give us a place to return home to yes? We'll need a place to keep a new mister stumpy, after all." The children beam at that and Kama snickers.

"We'll be get this place looking presentable again for the family, Faefnir! If that beast comes back around, I'll slice its kneecaps and howl for the hunting party."
You give the wild-mother a nod and a chainsaw grin,"We'll be back well before morning. Take care."

You line up with the others and find that Ivan's begun to laugh out loud.
"What's going o-" And then you see it as your oculars adjust to the light... A gaping hole in the brush of the trees.. At least a wagon wide.. maybe a wagon and a half.

"Seems we have quite the big quarry comrade. It will be a pleasure to take this one out, yes?" The man's human skin dissolves away as he unfurls his half-spider form. "It would be my honor to be at the back of the line"

"Schwere, you ride on my back," You too shed your human form and your long, slender dragon body unfurls. "It'll be easier for you to focus, yes?" The Mage nods and floats onto your back gracefully.

You hear Madeleine growl, grinding her teeth," Alright, I'm all well and sick of this waiting, let's go back in a head!" Her human form explodes away as she lunges into the woods, loping upon your gold-hued forelimbs.

The rest of you chase after her... into the unknown...

>Roll 1d100

>>25536133
we don't need an expert tracker, the guy left us pretty good tracks.

plus, if he comes back, best to have a lvl 2 at the campsite. also, he can make sure the others behave
>>
>>25536133
Presumably, we're relying on Armbrust to track the guy down for us while leaving Ivan at camp with the rest to act as the leader in charge.
>>
>>25536061
Yay, we now have a good excuse to kill our own kind! Not that I mind being evil Well I do kinda. I always play CG characters, it seems to be my alignment IRL because I despise authority yet love helping people. But I can and have switched that drive off here because you're good at this but if we can maximize our own evil while putting a damper on other sources that would be swell. JUSTICE is an awesome quirk.

There plain and simply aren't enough humans to go around. This is Darwinism here, and we've got a good strategy. Form a family, share in the slaughter, kill anything that's getting in the way of our good time! This fucker must die!

Ah, if only a helpless (and I emphasize helpless because he can really fuck up our shit) Allen could watch as the poor soul powering it fades into oblivion...

Madeleine leads, although brutishly. The rest of you soon catch up to her. You make a mental note that she is rather slow with all that armoring and strength.

With a hiss into her ear, you command that she slow herself and maintain a more... quiet pace.

She quickly concedes, becoming almost sheepish as she does,"Yes Faefnir, I am sorry for my recklessness."
"It will die, have no worry."
Armbrust takes the front and you shut your furnace for now, keeping the light hidden.

It takes time heading on into the night, however the tracks soon lead you to your mad quarry thrashing about carts and wagons upon the road.

"And there he is it seems..." You hear Armbrust whisper back to the rest, and you can all see very clearly A centaur-beast ablaze with blue, astral fires that seem to chill the very air. Frost creeping and the blue fire burning even atop the snow, unmelting.

It spins a polearm about, cutting through the wood of a carriage and eliciting the scream of a woman from within.

It roars and the shed flames suddenly turn red, exploding out into violent flame and the thing laughs, screaming and running down the road, chasing men that flee on horses.

Armbrust and Madeleine actually seem a bit unsettled by the power of the creature...

Even Schwere that sits upon your back trembles with the sudden clingings of fear.. The fear they have for their own lives..

Say, where do Akuma go when they die?

Perhaps we need to have someone find out... You gaze locks on the blue-flamed perpetrator.

You see a volunteer.

You have the initiative.

>I'd normally put options here...
>But you gentlement have such brilliant ideas...
>And there's plenty of ways to go about this..
>What's the battle plan?
>>
>>25536159
We definitely need to get Sadism as a personality trait. Just so that we can enjoy teasing Madeleine.
>>
>>25536159
>loping upon her gold-hued forelimbs.

Don't know what happened there...
>>
>>25536503
What's the area like?

What have I done...
>>
>>25536503
So a frosty fire... interesting. I wonder what happens when this thing gets doused...

We parlay, of course! Then he get Ivan to sniipe, while Madeleine charges and grapples
>>
>>25536544

Middle of the road surrounded by the forest. Upon the opposite stretch there lay sloped mountains. He's chasing the horses towards the town, he's pretty far down the bend of the road as it is so his visage can't be seen yet from Ruinebriar.
>>
>>25536503
First, give every single one of our hunting companions a loaf of black bread to buff them before the fight.

We start the fight off with Armbrust and Ivan taking shots at it from a distance from different directions, they relocate after every volley of shots, harry it. Make it run around unable to find anything.

Once its sufficiently worked up Madeleine will grab its attention and draw it towards her, we'll be hiding with Schwere, once it gets close Schwere drops a pile of Gravity on it, Madeleine bashes its face in, we'll hit it from behind with our chainsaw teeth and hamstring it to further reduce mobility. Once its legs are toast from Gravity, Bolts, and Teeth we keep our distance and wear it down more.
>>
Rolled 17

>>25536503
Lets open with a few choice words, such as:
"Hello, brother. Would you Kindly explain why you attacked our camp?"

Then we brutally murder him. Regardless of answer.
Lets have Schwere focus her gravity magic on him while Ivan and Armbrust pester him with crossbow bolts. We can go in melee against him with Madeleine, flanking him
>>
>>25536591
you just had to give the QM ideas, didn't you?
>>
>>25536628
Let's not waste the element of surprise.

>>25536544
Buff everyone with our Black Bread.

If the trees are high up, we want to set Armbrust and Ivan on their tops. Have Ivan open up initially, perhaps with a shot to the eyes to blind the MANCENTAUR and Armbrust hoping from tree to tree and firing bursts at the guy to confuse him.

Before we engage, ask what Schwere can do with her abilities. If she can simultaneously make objects lighter and heavier at the same time...

Let Madeleine draw the guy's attention from the front. When he comes to attack her, have Schwere lighten his weapon and make his arms heavier. This'll weaken his attack and makes sure Madeleine only needs to tank his charge. From there, we can attack him rapidly from the back with our fangs.
>>
>>25536598
The people would surely blame the destruction of Temes on Hec here, so we have to keep him away from people to keep up our "exorcists did it" ploy.
>>
>>25536607
>>25536648
Huh, our suggestions are pretty similar.
>>
>>25536607
I like this. Make it die slow and painfully. That ought be worth some bonus exp. Maybe even toss a chunk into its mouth. It'll be distracted a bit by the awesome flavor of our immaculate bread!

>>25536633
I learned that lesson from another quest that I now always faithfully adhere to. "Never give the GM any ideas"

After all, a player really does know how to fuck over his character best if he's any good. Never tell anyone about that. It'd be like Superman going around telling everyone "Hey, I'm broken as all fuck but if just hold out this green rock in front of me I become a little bitch!"

Not a very smart thing to do.
>>
>>25536651

In this though, it's risk vs reward.

The harder the enemy, the more exp he'll deliver.

However, as an Akuma, he must be devoured for exp. So you can either claim it for yourself or let one of the family have it. Choose wisely.

As for course of action, unless anyone has amendment between these two >>25536648
>>25536607
Or alternatives, I'll start with this! <3
>>
>>25536821
He seems pretty physically oriented. Might want to let Madeleine have it.

Or split it between the two of us?
>>
>>25536821
let's let one of the 1.5's eat it. Specifically, Madeleine. I can feel that our Imouto is close to lvling up...
>>
>>25536781
The power up takes a second or two, a second or two our boys can use to riddle it with bolts as it just sits there going "Fuck yeah this tastes like awesome!"

Whatever buff he gets won't matter once we gouge out his eyes with bolts and CHOMP his head in before it even gets a chance to apply itself man.

>>25536821
The honors go to whomever lands the deciding blow. It is only fair, JUSTICE demands it. I hope we do but if we don't oh well, someone we like gets the exp at least and that's all that really matters.
>>
>>25536868
by that, do you mean you want to wishbone him?
>>
>>25536868
We should just eat it all and become the akuma we were meant to be. Everyone else is just a pawn.
>>
>>25536876
Why take the risk? If we want to punish him, why not...

>>25536908
This?

I don't think we even wishboned the second exorcist we killed like we planned.

>>25536931
i don't think we did either, and that makes me sad.

>>
>>25536946
but we must remember, even if one dies, we can make another to replace it. kinda like the Noah Clan, although it takes them longer to be replaced

Having a third level 2 akuma might be a better choice strategically. Especially if we are to fight a strong exorcist. Eating a level 2 might give the last little push Madeleine needed to attain level 2 herself.
>>
You reach into your oven and pull out a loaf of your black bread, slicing it into 5 chunks with your claws, and passing the pieces to the family, that all consume it graciously..

You feel your strength surge...
(Strength temporarily increased to (3) !)

"Ivan, Armbrust. Split off down the road and take your shots, moving between volleys, Go." The Wolf and spider disappear into the brush and you already hear another roar from your prey.

Your attention snaps to Madeleine," I know you fear it, but I trust you. Gain it's attention and rely on that hard hide of yours. The rest of us will cover you, On my mark, go.."

Without arguing, the gold-hued brute nods and prepares to pounce at once.

You turn to Schwere, that still sits upon your back," How good are you at that magic? Could you lighten and weigh something at the same time?"
The mage slides down from your back, her orbs appearing upon her shoulders and hands," Indeed, I can. I'll do so from the brush. What's the target?"
"Lighten the weapon, leaden the arm. I want him to swing a twig."
The mage disappears.

You take to the skies, arcing your back and pushing your wings down. You see the target lashing out into the woods with those icy blue flames, and a roar later, they explode into an inferno. It seems the power of fire is strong in this one...

With a roar, Madeleine advances...

>>25537112
Success!

Also. I noticed that the crits are 5 below and 95 above, right? But the dice only go from 1-5 and 95 goes up to 100. That's 5 and 6 crits respectively.

Maybe the crits should be 1-5 and 95-99? 100 being a crit in our favor.
>>

>>25537203

>>
>>25537174

As it is already, with Devil's luck the dice are already in your favor.

Since I take the highest of three, a crit not-withstanding, if 6 7 and 94 are rolled, you get 94.
If 2 7 and 80 are rolled, it crits at 2.

No reason to change that.
>>
>>25537176
I think we were due for a bit of bad luck anyway, it spices things up when things go wrong!
>>

Eugh. Might want to clear up the rules for rolling later on.

>>25537214
Well, she might get incapacitated. Having someone get killed in a success seems excessive.
>>
>>25537246
It may be that we angered the entity that controls the Devil's Luck.
>>
>>25537237
Well yeah, but as it is after thinking about it keeping Devil's Luck on reduces the chance of a crit as 1-5 is a smaller number of numbers than 95-100, I'd personally go for 1-5 and 96-100 so both crit fail/success are equally likely.

When facing stronger opponents, you need better plans, and better rolls.

The plan is good. Success is a given, though not without some kind of damage played out.

I mentioned the other night that Rosalin could've killed Armbrust. A success does not mean unscathed.

Nobody gets plot armor.

Madeleine dashes forward, tackling into the blue-flamed transgressor even as he's pelted with bolts from the two shooters. Some bounce, yet others stick and he seems to be fairly annoyed, especially with Madeleine rocking him.

They roll into the nearby brush and you see an explosion of flame that sinks your heart.

"No!" You roar as your own flaming heart swelters with rage. You see the burning blue machine rise from the charred trees and you dive down, your maw open, chains screaming.

You see an oversized bolt tear into the side of the enemy, right as you meet it, causing it to shutter and fall as you bite for its head, only to be restricted by its polearm.

The thing roars and its flames explode from its body, yet you, you're used to heat... You're a baker after all.

You keep your chainsaws running, slowly tearing apart the pole, you wrap your tail around the thing and see a bolt go into the joint of the arm, only for it to go limp, and the head, now yours.

You crunch down on the head of the demon's body and start twisting and tearing, fully intending to tear apart the creature even as more well aimed bolts skewer it threw the sides.

You adjust the angle of your maw and saw out its eyes, even as you grip at its limbs in a vain attempt to pull it apart, you draw your head back and halt the saws for a moment, to call out the name of a comrade.

"Madeleine!" The roar rings out through the woods. You feel the thing that you've wrapped up move to strike you only to have its one remaining arm locked by intense gravity.

"She won't be answering, Faefnir." Schwere's cold voice is the first to come out, and you snap your head back to lock one eye upon her.
"She is-"
"I saved her from that explosion, though she is hurt badly." She holds her left arm with her right. A fiercely dark energy emanating from her orb. She's really working to keep this thing locked up.

More bolts riddle its side, even as it groans. Ivan approaches slowly and surely, firing the bows on either of his arms as soon at the next one is ready. You spits at the ground before it by the time there's as many as 20 bolts lodged in its armor plating. "Fucking piece of shit. How dare it harm our comrades. Faefnir, what are you waiting for? Finish it off? Or will it be now for one of us?" You can nearly see Ivan's rage in the wolven features of his face, metal teeth bared.

>>
>>25538173
On what grounds?

Schwere and Armbrust are stoics, and Schwere is smart enough to understand that the core may help Madeleine recover.

Ivan cares just as much for the group as us (and did, for much longer).

The kids haven't developed enough of a personality to be jealous and Kama is satisfied with causing general mayhem/mothering (IS THERE A DIFFERENCE?).

I don't think that you understand our character. With the camaraderie quirk, we care a lot about our 'family'.

Madeleine is injured, she needs the help to recover.

The polearm....not sure how anyone aside from us and Ivan can wield it, considering everyone else is bipedal. If we ignore that, we can give it to Armbrust, so that he can mix it up between going melee and range. Make him an even better spotter to Ivan's sniper.

>>25538336
experience allows you to make adjustments to your body, plus, if she lvls up, she gets a whole new body.
>>
>>25538315
Oh, I just realized that Schwere could lighten up the armor. It'd make sense to give her more protection, especially if it won't affect her ability to move.
>>25538336
After our mouth got destroyed from killing Ariel, the experience allowed us to upgrade them and allow them to heal.
>>
You unravel yourself from the body and slam your jaws into the chest-plate, wedging your blade-bits at the edge and revving your saws to pry it off. The thing screams and more fire explodes from its body in defense, yet you shrug off the pain and jam your claw into its chest, pulling away a pulsating black core with wires still attached. The thing's body begins to shut down as the wires snap off.

You find it a bit grim... A bit grim indeed that this is all that stands between you, and your own death...

You turn back, eyeing the others as they gathe in their demon forms, save for Schwere , whom remains in her mostly human form, with a cracked orb upon her right arm.
"Bring Madeleine, she'll consume this. Hopefully it will allow her to repair the damages-"
"I want it." Schwere states plainly. You regard her specifically.
"You what?"
"You heard me Faefnir. I want it. I saved Madeleine. I want the core. I can feel my power growing, and I don't know how long this orb will take to fix. It cracked when I saved her. Give it to me."

"...bring Madeline here, Schwere. The core can wait, for now."

We need to ensure that Madeline is, in fact, still functional. Besides, the kid gloves are off when someone contradicts us. She wants it, she needs to prove what she did to earn it.
>>
>>25538724
amoungst the akuma? no. we rule us all. democracy could get us killed if everyone votes to turn on us.
>>
>>25538724
So that means every time we kill something, we'll have to have a vote over it, we'll lose power, and the family becomes a political shitwash.

Also, we're being pretty freaking condescending to Schwere here.
>>
>>25538754

>>

Sure it is. She has a simple statement, "I want it," and an argument that she earned it. Rather than confronting the argument directly, you're trying to guilt trip and bribe her in to doing it. How is she supposed to take it as anything but an insult?

Madeleine was weak, and could be finished off.

You tear the core from the recently deceased Akuma's body and snarl at her with your chainsaw fangs, Your voice comes out, stern and broiling," "Schwere, I understand your ambition, though this is not the time You saved Madeleine and we will save her again. You will be rewarded, but for now, a comrade is in need. We killed that woman from your old order so that you would NOT be separated from us." You snap your eyes to Ivan," This is so, is it not?"

The Demon man nods," This is so. We endangered ourselves to deal with that woman. You are our comrade. We will keep you alive, and your time will come."

Schwere is about to speak, yet you carry on yourself,"As you well know, everyone in the family will do anything they can to keep everyone else in the family safe. If you have a problem with that, by all means, persist."

Schwere looks to you, mouth shut and looks away. "Give her the core then..."

"Ivan, Armbrust."

The two nod and head over to the burnt brush to pull out Madeleine.

Schwere stares at you the entire time that you wait, her eyes seeming to express more emotion than usual... She suddenly sighs and turns away from you," Are we taking the body? We could probably use the parts." Her tone is flat again, as usual.

"Yes, I had considered it, would you like the armor?"
"I suppose I could make do if you melt the holes shut."

You pick up the partially chewed Polearm, claiming it for yourself and start to move the body, though it's heavy.

"I'll help with that." Schwere points her left arm at the body and her orb radiates once more, making the body significantly lighter. Enough for you to pick up.
You notice that Schwere's Right arm now hangs limply.
"Is it, okay?"
She looks to you, saying nothing.
Armbrust and Ivan pull up Madeleine's body, the armor on her arms has been blown off, her mane fried, part of her face-plate missing along with the armor of her breast, her core is exposed.

>>
"If I hadn't suppressed the explosion, it would have evaporated her." Schwere begins to walk away, her spell still active on the corpse. "I'll see you all back in camp."

You approach Madeline, and regard her more closely, one of her Oculars regards you while the other's been burnt away. Her mouth is slightly agape. "H-hey... Faefnir... G-give a g-girl some... Pri-vacy..." She strains the words out, some of her oil leaking.

"She's looking bad Comrade... I don't know how well our kind heals from this sort of thing. She may not make it, even with the core.." Ivan's voice is grim, grim and choked.

Armbrust whines, and trembles...

"Madeleine..." You shove the core before the broken, bleeding machine, the red glow of her lv 1 oculars fading in an out now.
"Eat this, eat this and live."

She moves one of her arms to grip the core, and nearly slips in her grip, Armbrust nudges her arm with his nose, to help keep it up.

"Eat it comrade, quickly..." Ivan whispers, even as he holds the heavy girl up.

She finally gets it to her fixed shut mouth and the blasted away metal separates into crude teeth, biting down and consuming the dark matter core.

Madeleine's body writhes and she roars out in either pain or ecstasy. A golden light floods out from her mangled joints only to turn pitch black and form into new metals.

Ivan and Armbrust pull away, letting her fall as she takes on a less than subtle transformation.

Her body shifts, increasing in bulk and brutish demeanor. Her golden mane extends all the way down her back and along thick reptilian tail that ends in more golden fluff. Her arms take on a similar hue and her body overall take the form of an Olympian man with the shape of a Black Lion. A Red cross appears on her left hip, extending partway down her leg, stopping at the thigh, extending horizontally on her waist and all the way up her muscular chest and abdomen.

She finally shakes off the transformation, and revels in her newfound form, flexing her newfound muscles and lashing about her thick tail.

You make a final note that the features of her face are also a mix between Feline and Lizard... how odd..

"I feel amazing! Ohh, I want to kill something, A warm body, but not before I snuggle it to death, ohhh, this feels so good. Oh, oh, what's my power?! I wonder what my power is..." She stops her ranting for a moment and her body suddenly takes on a golden hue over the black.

It kind of reminds you of Ariel's Innocence actually... interesting..

"Welcome to the class of Level 2 comrade... Ahh, I wouldn't be showing it to Schwere though, she may be a touch sour..."

Madeleine cocks her head, lizard-like eyes regarding Ivan with some interest in her bliss, yet a touch of confusion,” And why wouldn't I tell her?”

Ivan seems to have trouble with this one..

“She saved you from death, and took damage in doing so. She wanted the core.” You explain calmly, an opposite to the newly formed lioness. “I'd at least give her until we told her your condition.”

“Nonsense, nonsense, I need to show my sister, she's going to be sooo jealous! Oh...” Madeleine puts a claw to her maw,” I just called her... Sister, didn't I....” Madeleine seems to ponder the thought.

Ivan slaps her on the back, “That you did comrade. But we should be going now, yes? It is getting late..”

“I agree, everyone, put your human skin back on. We'll loot the valuables and throw them into the dead body here. Let's get a move on!” You begin to revert to your human form, and assign the polearm to your dark matter as you do, causing it to begin fixing itself and essentially becoming a part of your “form.”

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Back at camp, the sun is nearly up, and everyone is sorting through the valuables pilfered. There were a few gold coins from the wealthy carriage, many silvers, the clothes were burnt to ruins though.

Burnt pearls, and other cut stones with rings... You'll have to see if you can't get a proper price off them from a jeweler or pawnbroker...

You assign Ivan to find the lair of the recently deceased demon to see if he had valuables stashed, it's only right after all.
Kama did a decent job in cleaning up the camp, between her and the kids. The only remaining signs of the attack being the things that had been burnt beyond repair, other than that, there's still and the remains of a cart..

Schwere registers to the armor bits with your promise to weld them together.

Madeleine goes to the taverns or something like that and acts as a beer wench/waitress, lets her listen in on rumors and the tart will enjoy it.

Kama takes care of Wendel and Kralle, mainly keeps an eye on our stuff, but she can take the kids out for "lunch" in the woods, and go hunting if they feel an itch.

Ivan does his thing.

Armbrust can spend time in town if he wants, can't think of anything else for him.

Schwere should probably change robes and lie low for a bit, focus on recovering herself, maybe get some easy pickings from the forest of people to eat.

As the camp begins to settle back in from the events of last night, you head on over to speak with Schwere privately, only to see Madeleine embracing her.
“I'm sorry sister. You got hurt protecting me.”
Schwere pats Madeleine's back with her good arm, and rests her nose against her shoulder,” It's alright. I'm just glad that you're okay... I... did what I could...” Her voice is back to her usual stoicism. Well, it's a good thing, right?
You don't interrupt them, however you wait for a few moments and call everyone together, Ivan having already gone out to find the lair of that other Akuma.

You give them a simple breakdown of what went on last night, everyone, save for Schwere(for obvious reasons) claps for her recent LV2 status.

“Right then, I have a baking job to get to this morning. I think Madeleine should apply for a job at one of the taverns. And, if you could check the witch in stocks, we still don't know if she has the stigmata.”
Madeleine nods, with a smile, almost seeming human at this point,” Will do, They'll simply adore me after all. How could they NOT give me a job?” Madeleine giggles at that and gives her Schwere a peck on the cheek before heading away in the now. “I'll just go and get started.
“I'm not done yet!” You call out to her.
“I'll visit you in the bakery!” She runs on into town without a second care. Seems she's definitely got more personality.
“Well...” You carry on,”Kama, make sure the camp is guarded, take the kids out for a hunt if you get an itch. Schwere, change your robes, and focus on recovery, accompany Kama for easy pickings if it helps, and assess the jewelry if you can. The children can help if they don't get in the way.” The women and children nod, relaxing and awaiting the last of your instruction.
“Armbrust, work on fixing the wagon or gallivant in town discreetly. I leave it up to you.”
“Roger captain.”

You're chastised for your tardiness to work today, Mr. Bool wasn't quite happy as he had expected the extra set of hands this morning, however you soon make up for it with your natural strength and sheer speed in hauling about flour and water and the like.

Around noon, after an influx of customers all morning, you are greeted by a man in red and silver armor, much like the armor that the dearly departed Rosalin wore...
Behind him, stands a second man. Or at least you suspect. They are both in full armor, with that crimson cross emblazoned proudly...

The first man has a sword upon his belt and a shield on his arm. The second, no weapon at all, and though his hands seem to have no gauntlets on, and instead wears red gloves.

Mr. Bool greets them both as a friendly proprieter," And what may I pay the honor to our most esteemed order of Crimson?" The jolly man smiles, though he rubs his floured hands together nervously.

The man's voice rings out through his slotted helm," We are here to question your new hire. He was seen in the Staggering Stag last night, disturbing the duties of one of the sisters. As it is past the time of your morning bake, I am certain you would not mind giving him a full day's pay and turning him over to us."

Mr. Bool becomes visibly shaken by this, and he looks at you with an incredulous look," Ah, well.. Certainly. We are past our morning back, how about half a day's pay."

The Man of the Order clears his throat," I believe I said that you'd give the man a full day's pay. We will reimburse you for the inconvenience."

"Ah, well then, go ahead." Mr. Bool fetches the appropriate amount of coin that had been agreed upon before. It's still not much, however it's better than nothing.

"Very good. Come with us now sir."

That wasn't a request...
And you notice now that you've been suspiciously quiet since the man's entry.

There's something else a lot of you aren't taking into consideration: this is a relatively small town, thus it is exceedingly unlikely that the order had over 4 anti-akuma combat personal stationed here. we killed one of those 4, now there's two of them in front of us, and the last one less than a block away. Going wherever they take us may very well decrease the number of combatants we have to fight should it come to that.
>>
Rolled 26

>>25542371
no. we really don't. they have 3 anti-akuma combatants around where we are, so it would be more beneficial to go with them, away from the actual exorcist, and take care of the 2 of them if necessary.

You clam up for a few more moment before finally sighing, with a scratch of your head," Alright, I was a bit drunk, and she was pretty. A man has needs after all. Now, whatever that woman may have told you, I kept my hands to myself, the entire time. Nothing worth holding a grudge over, right?”

The man bows very slightly, his shield to his front,” Nothing indeed. We'd just like to ask you questions. Come now.” The man speaks kindly, as though he's not talking to a criminal, and that puts you at ease. The other however, seems to stare at you. Without a weapon, you'd normally think that he's just easy pickings in a can, yet... Yet you can't shake the last act of Rosalin... She nearly snuffed you out with that explosion... Who knows what this one can do?

Remember to breath...

You bow your head and come along. The sword-knight at the front, the presumed mage-knight at your rear.

You pass the stocks, and you notice that the witch is gone... Your heart turns a little bit, but you don't let it show, lest they think you have some sort of affiliation with her.

You soon arrive at a guard-house that has been essentially vacated, save for a few other men and women that do not bear the Red Cross upon their breasts, yet wear the Red and Silver armor.

The sword-man pulls out a chair for you, politely offering a seat before sitting down himself.
“Well then, let's get started. What was the last thing you said to Miss Rosewood? That would be the lady-knight you had been seen speaking with.”

“I don't exactly remember, I was pretty drunk..” You put a hand to your head and seem to think hard about it.
“Take your time now.” The man utters the words gently, though you can sense the urgency... This facade of his sickens you to some extent.. Especially with the fact that in all likelihood, they know that Rosalin was murdered... Best not to think about that though.
“I recall telling her something about putting a bun in her oven... Afterward, I called her a prude or something like it. Other than that, the night was a drunken haze. A joyful, drunken haze.”

“I hope that you remember more than that. A drunken haze won't stand up in trial. Especially with you being such a recent arrival.” The Man raps his fingers upon the table, the metal on wood, a distinct sound,” You were seen leaving the tavern with three men last night. Who were those men, and what were their affiliation with you?”

“We're all refugees from Temes. They had horse, supply, and enough kindness in their hearts to let me and my family aboard. We were celebrating our safe arrival after the tragedy that befell our city. They even helped me on my walk back to our camp, we haven't found a place to stay yet, after all.” You do your best at a disarming smile, however you simply must raise an eyebrow for this one,”I'm going on trial for flirting with a woman?”

You notice the second man begin mumbling quietly to himself.

“Ah, well. I suppose I let that slip out.” The man's gentle demeanor suddenly fades,” You were the last known person to associate with Sister Rosewood right before her disappearance, presumed death by our order. Accounts say that you last confronted her upon the streets. She laid claim that you were a demon. One that is not to be taken lightly as our order exists to purge the demons of man.”

The man gestures to the other people that stand in the room,” We all know that the most vile demons wear the shape of man and walk right under our noses. And to throw out such an accusation.. It is indeed suspicious.” The man folds his hands over upon the table, he is perfectly relaxed.
“Accounts mentioned another woman that bore the mark of our order? Is she also a refuge?”

>This... this is getting very hot...

>>25543418
Ah such a shame, but we can't let them know about her. Time to hit the panic button.

Kill everyone, enough talking

I gotta be honest, I thought she was going to stab me when she ran me out of town, but then she just... sorta left. don't really remember what she said though"
>>
>>25543496
and add to that
"And that woman is a refugee. she was planning on heading to your head-quarters today, but last night she tripped and hurt her arm pretty badly. We told her she should stay at least one more night to let to let it heal a bit. We thought it wouldn't be a huge deal if she was one day late."
>>
>>25543548
woah there, let's make it a little more vague, we said we really couldn't remember much after that
>>
>>25543418
I think I was merely at the wrong place at the wrong time.

See, I chatted up that weird out of place looking fella at the back of the bar. That made Miss Rosewood mighty suspicious. Couldn't have known what was going on with those two.

As for the woman that bore the mark of your order, I think its probably just a mistake. When we left temes we grabbed whatever clothing and supply we could before leaving. It's cold outside, we can't be picky about what we wear.
>>
>>25543462
>>25543540
let's not hit the panic button untill it becomes obvious that we can't talk our way out of this. right now is when they're hoping we'll panic, and I'm pretty sure that one of them is laying spells, so going full murder would probably be a bad idea.
>>
>>25543591
other people have probably already told them that they heard Schwere say she was part of the order.
>>
>>25543418
"A demon? A DEMON! I am no demon. That's preposterous. I flirted with a girl, perhaps with too much vigor and a lack of tact, and returned to my camp. I am sorry for your loss but that does not mean accusing me will help you in any way. All those with me could assure you that I was not involved in such a thing, I desire nothing to do with you and your kind after what I saw at Temes.

As for another woman, there are a number of us, and we've all seen a great deal of tragedy. We make a point of not delving into the pasts of those with us, everyone has unpleasant memories that are best left covered. If it is the one who wears robes like yours any delay is because of an injury to her arm, she is resting and recovering at the moment."
>>
>>25543635
She could have been bluffing to get us out of that sticky situation.

Which is indeed what happened.
>>
>>25543591
Sechwere flat out claimed to be of the order. this won't fly.

>>25543581
good point. how about "'yeah... so far as I know. we haven't talked all that much, but she seemed nice enough. I... think I went after the lady knight to appologise. I was the reason she left the bar afterall... outside... she was mad... and that's about all I got."

>>
>>25543662
>>25543783
I kinda get the same feeling about that bit.
>>
>>25543418
Excuse me? Demon? Is this your idea of a joke?

Actually, that sparks a memory gentlemen. I distinctly remember two members of your order visiting my shop asking about demons, before it burned to the ground along with the rest of Temes. I may have been drunk, rude, boisterous, and downright insulting to this member of your order- but that does -not- give any of your the right to accuse me of being a demon. Not after losing my home, my business, nearly losing my life as well.

I came here for a fresh start, but I see that isn't in my future.
>>
>>25543890
[continuing] *stands up* "Now, if you don't mind, I need to go see if I still have a job."
>>
>>25543418
okay, let me try my hand at this.
"Whoa whoa, a demon? I'll admit that I'm no saint, but i'm certainly not a demon. I can very hazily remember walking out of the bar and seeing her walking away. I called to her, I think with the intention to apologize, though I doubt that it came out that way. I must of said something to really upset her, because I very vaguely remember running for my life with someone screaming at me... but after that, nothing. I woke up this morning a little later then I intended, and went to go work at the bakery.

As for the woman, yeah, she is also a refugee. I believe she intended to go to your order first thing this morning, but she tripped and fell on her arm pretty badly, can't move it at all. I insisted that she at least stay at the camp and rest for a bit, and hopefully her arm would heal enough for her to make the journey from our camp to your order with minimal pain. I mean, it's not a crime if she's a little late because she's letting herself rest a little bit, right?"

You hold your arms up, shaking your head,”No, no... Hey, now hold on.. That's ludicrous! We fled from Temes because of an exorcist's demon hunt! And now you're calling me a demon?!”

The man clenches his gauntlets,” This is twice now you've spoken of Temes. What happened there?”
Yes, this is good... change the subject.
“Temes has been burned to the ground because the exorcists thought it'd be easier to find the demons that way. They had been within the walls going on three days and the murders just didn't stop.” You start to tear up for a bit of an added effect,” My home, and my family were killed by the fire, and now, now you go and call me a demon?!” You throw your face into your hands as you let out long sobs, thinking mostly about the loss of your bakery... If only you still had it...

One of the men gingerly approach from standing guard at the walls,” Hey there, it's alright... “
“Get away from him, recruit.”
“But si-”
“Now.”
The guard returns to the wall, and the armored swordsman glowers at you through the slits in his helm,” You say now that exorcists burned down Temes? That is preposterous. It must have been the demons at work. We'll need to detain all possible refugees from the Temes as in all likelihood, they too are possessed. If you pass the inspection of the High Priest, you will be released.”

And it was going so well. Time for a burning inferno of cutting. Start with the swordsman.

'tis alright, we can actually get some info from this before hitting the panic button.

>[] Any Objections?
Give me tonight to tell my friends. We'll all come quietly I swear. If demons really followed us from Temes we'll all want the safety of this place.

Tonight. We strike tonight.
>>
>>25544044
>[] Go Quietly.
They will probably send us to the same place as the apostate. That gives us an opportunity to release her.

Oh, this might actually be a chance....

Ask him how long until the High Priest comes. You heard of his coming to judge the apostate, but you didn't get an exact date.

[X] Any Objections?

"Do not tell me what I saw. I have eyes and I was there unlike everyone else in this room. I saw them with my own eyes, I saw a man in robes like yours, he came to my bakery once or twice and sampled my wares, and on the night of the fires he blew wind upon the flames and spread them far and wide. He did not seem to care a whit for any of us.

I don't know what happened after that as I fled the city fearing him more than any demon."
>>
If we go quietly they'll start going after our family, who don't have the same will power that we do.
>>
>>25544114
>>25544044
you have a point... I was going to object to going quietly, but I'm liking this. If only we could get a message to Ivan telling him to make sure everyone comes quietly, I imagine we'll all be in the same place.

We CANNOT see the High-Priest. We have no idea of his or her power. We "agree" to go quietly, and eradicate this guard immediately, then fill the room with fire, oil, and as many dead bodies as we can manage in a few seconds.

Sorry boys, but cover is blown.
>>
>>25544044
>[] Any Objections?
"Well, I guess that sounds okay, but when is this High Priest supposed to get here?"
>>
>>25544190
eh. you may be right, the exorcists might not be THAT stupid. they're vile, but they're often subtle and cunning too.
>>
There's the problem of Schwere. She's still wearing her Crimson Cross robes. They'll question her harder than any of us.
>>
>>25544044
This guy suspects us of being a demon. We might be imprisoned with the use of talismans. It might be a bad idea to go quietly along with this.
>>
>>25544235
She'll be fine. She's at camp with the Mama Sama and the kids.
>>
>>25544263
Well, if they show us any talisman, we can show them our fang. Hopefully, they will try that only after moving us to wherever the apostate is imprisoned.
>>
>>25544263
they're already using some sort of divine magic, we just don't know exactly what it is.

"You notice the second man begin mumbling quietly to himself."

two posts back. it ain't good.
>>
>>25544263

I will add in that it's not like you'll be "disarmed" or anything...

And you have very high willpower for an Akuma.
>>
>>25544263
My rebuttal: Fire cloak.
>>
is anyone archiving this? we are very very near the bottom
>>
>>25544320

I did, good sir.

And for tonight, the next post will be the last. <3

What'll it be my dear gentlemen? I'll have you know that for everything that they're doing, there are certain... opportunities.

1. Go quietly, albeit a bit of objection.
2. Full Panic-mode.
>>
>>25544265
The guy will ask us to point out where we've been staying and where our companions (Ivan and Armbrust, and our "family") are.

>>25544044
>An Objection
Say that you'll be ruined if you are imprisoned. You and your family have so very little and, once we get out, our reputation in the town could be ruined by rumors of what we could have done. We'd need to move again, and what with the multitudes of bandits in the road, we could die.

Something like this, but not rushed and better worded.

>>
>>25544360
1. We can go full on inferno once we confirm the witch's location.
>>
>>25544044
okay, I say we go quietly, with the hopes of being put together with the Apostate.

If we are check her head for the stigmata. if she is indeed a Noah, break out with her. If she is not, break out with her anyway.

if we are not put with her, break out.

so, go quietly and then go full Panic-mode

Today's thread has just been filled with tense moments hasn't it?
>>
Oh dear, I just thought of how insane it would be if Faefnir cut a cross into his arm to show them his conviction..

hmm...

Wouldn't go over well.
>>
>>25544488
Did....did someone suggest that?
>>
>>25544506

Of course not! I simply thought of it on my own. Random flutterbies in my head after all.

You know.

Want a crossant?
>>
>>25544506
I'd suggest quoting scripture if it would get us out of this mess, but as with cooking we must learn from our failings.
We're going quietly. Hopefully not into the cold night.
>>
>>25544450
well, I'd say there's a lesson to be learned: don't mess around using bad pick-up lines on black order associates.

>>25544531
yes please!
>>
>>25544531
We could say that doing that is what the exorcist at Temes ask of the people.
>>
>>25544488
Wait, why would we do that? We just spent the last few story posts trying to convince them we are afraid of their overzealous heavy-handed approach to "finding demons". Why would we cut a cross into our arm? The story we've presented to them shows that we want nothing to do with them.
>>
>>25544580
but we bleed oil...
>>
>>25544626

It was an errant thought. Excuse my musings. <3
>>
>>25544631
that's probably why

Wouldn't go over well
>>
>>25544631
If we bled oil in human form, Akuma would be easier to find. They'd just have everyone cut themselves a little to examine their blood.
>>
>>25544655
That's how it works?
>>
You resolve yourself, it's risky, however you see it as an opportunity.. If you could rally with the witch, you could save her and fulfill the mission that the good doctor had bestowed upon... That is... if she is indeed the Noah. However, you won't be going away quietly at all... No, you have to show them... your conviction... You stare at the man, despite his visor, you glare at him as angrily as a normal person would, as indeed, they would find this reprehensible.
"Do not tell me what I saw. I have eyes and I was there unlike everyone else in this room. I saw them with my own eyes.” You enunciate that clearly, looking over everyone and stopping back at the man, that's been questioning you,” I saw a man bearing a cross like yours, only silver, he came to my bakery once or twice and sampled my wares, and on the night of the fires he blew wind upon the flames and spread them far and wide. He did not seem to care a whit for any of us.
I don't know what happened after that as I fled the city fearing him more than any demon."
Everyone in the room goes silent for a moment...
“Take him away.” The man finally gives the order, and the weaponless one at his side places a talisman upon the back of your head.
“This is to keep you from doing anything funny before you're detained,” The man whispers into your ear.
You suddenly feel a great deal weaker, as two guards on either side of you grab you by the arms and begin to take you away.
“If... if you imprison me... I'll be ruined... My family has so little.. No job... And rumors of what we could have done.... We'll need... to move again... and the bandits on the road... our lives... forfeit... This.. this is a death sentence...” You mutter out half-sensedly.
The mage-man is the only one to respond,” None of that is our problem until you are found human. I am... sorry. That it must be this way... This is for your own safety.”
>>
It takes a bit of time to get down the winding stairs, however you are soon thrown into a cell with Talismans upon the angle-points of the bars, ensuring that you're sealed... unless the barrier is broken, of course...

You look around you, at possible cell mates. You see a few other broken and likely impoverished people here... serves the scum rig- Ah, who are you kidding, you're here now to..

You see that just across from you, still in mage's stocks, although mobile ones...

The previously encountered, and twice enamored, once for potential Noah, and a second for loving your bread, Morgan Le Fey.

>Until next time! Stay deadly, Gentlemen! Friday at 2200 It's a bit later than usual, so I won't be running as long. Hope to see you all another evening. You gentlemen are grand fun! <3
>>
I'll be here for a while, or until the thread 404's. Time for questions, comments, concerns, and suggestions allow me to know them... <3
>>
>>25544764
can taslismans be destroyed? do they alert or alarm the caster or anyone when they are? we of course have some black bread on hand right?
>>
>>25544764
With the current level of power we have can we start a small fire?

Also I really hope Madeleine can control herself once she realizes what happened.
>>
>>25544751
Hopefully Ivan can rally everyone else.

Thanks for the excellent time, Duke.

>>25544764
You forgot to include the red cross on Madeleine's hip in her appearance on the pastebin.

The polearm has been integrated into our Akuma form, huh? Where does it appear? On our arm/s? Do we only have the one?

>>25544808
The first question is definitely answerable. The second is plot related and I don't think we're supposed to no.
>>
>>25544764
are there guards in the cell with us or did they toss us in and trust the talismans?
>>
Accuse them of trying to rid of survivors to prevent rumors of exorcists causing the fire.
>>
>>25544751
>You look around you, at possible cell mates. You see a few other broken and likely impoverished people here
time to tell these poor souls of the Good Doctor's miracles, what've they got to loose <3
>>
>>25544835
this is good, we need to remember this.

>>25544848
OH BLOODY THIS! If we could get the doctor in here, breaking that seal would be like sand-blasting a soup cracker!
>>
>>25544848
We're done here for tonight.

And who knows if the Doctor would appear here. It'd be bad for our cover.

Anyway, Morgan. She's a witch. She may know of a way to help get the talisman off....
>>
>>25544862
all true, but couldn't hurt to try
>>
>>25544808

Yes,by a counter-magic or brute force.

>>25544810
Despite the power-limiting talisman placed, you can still make fires.

>>25544830
They seem to trust the Talismans. Though the Apostate is still under guard by the exorcist bearing the silver rose upon his plate.
You note that his brother only wears silver armor, and does not have any other defining features.
>>
>>25544848
>>25544860
Great potential to backfire upon us.

There's always one snitch in a prison....watch out for your own ass.

The only one we could trust is the witch.
>>
>>25544886

TRUST THE WITCH!

Wait, we're not burning her?
>>
>>25544908
is she made of wood?
>>
>>25544908
We're not barbarians. We burn her after confirming her allegiance.
>>
>>25544880
so does this guy just ALWAYS guard her with no sleep cause he hasn't left her side all quest
>>
>>25544927
Noahs are immune to dark matter, right? And our fire is made from dark matter?
>>
>>25544916
does she weigh the same as a duck?
>>
>>25544908
Can the dear Duke get into this cell what with these talismans and all?
>>
>>25544880
This
>>25544929
It's important to know whether or not there are any openings.
>>
>>25544947
It will be a literal cleansing fire.
>>
>>25544908
What are the talismans made of? What would happen if they managed to catch fire?
>>
>>25544960
She might appreciate it. Considering that people apparently threw dung at her.
>>
>>25544987
It's made out of paper. Like the talismins the late Rosalin tried to kill us with.
>>
>>25544908
We do have bread on hand, right?
on hand, in oven whatever
>>
Also...

Funny someone thinks Maddy's the one that's going to be on the warpath the most...

>>25544947
The fire is caused by Dark Matter, not necessarily dark matter itself.

That said, if you make the origin point of a spell a noah, it shouldn't really work.

>>25544929

Funny you mention that, you'll be seeing exactly what they do if you pay close attention.

It's actually almost comical...

>>25545001
Already answered I think... Yes, you have one in the Oven as a point.

>>25544997
Magical writings on paper~ This won't burn as eay though, lemme tell ya... These are mahogony paper, laminate. Damn straight, it's mahogany!. The best wood... Mahogany...
>>
>>25545001
Doing that would require us to change forms. With the silver cross man standing right there that is not a good idea.
>>
>>25545035
Now Duke don't you go underestimating a baker's oven.
>>
>>25545035
Oh, I forgot the skill was called Fire Magic.

Can we conjure fire away from our body? How about in human form? Or would we need to transform partially like Schwere?
