Alright, folks, here's the deal if you haven't seen it on Twitter. I had a chance to think over some stuff the day after the thread ended, and Nicolas has some potential to survive still. So we're going to continue with him if people want. But, I will warn you that Bad Ends in my game are not going to be of the typical take a step back and try again. I want the bad ends to mean something. As well, I apologize if the difficulty seemed a little high, but you only needed 1 success to live, the rest were going to determine how injured you got getting away from the revenge obsessed madman(and there were some background details going on). So, without further ado, I present you with two choices:

Continue as Nicolas, and make an attempt to return to the world of the living. If this is your choice, give me a d100 roll. Higher is better, lower means you may have to play a short bit as Tomoko.

Or you can leave Nicolas to his fate and restart with Marianne. We would continue from where I last posted concerning her in the previous thread.

In the meantime, here are the normal thread links:

You're uncertain of how long you existed in that inky blankness, reflecting upon yourself and your Origin. Mind, what an interesting concept it was. And you had thought to take care of yours, but in doing so you had neglected you body. As well, even the greatest minds make mistakes. Perhaps you should have had Caster with you, to counteract John's sudden alliance with Hero and Villain. Perhaps you should not have approached a man so lost in grief. Perhaps you should have had Caster prepare a spare body ahead of time, or told Tomoko what to do in a situation such as your death.

It is in the midst of this musing and flexing your magic, that you notice. You still have a connection to...something. Caster, perhaps? Were you still able to sustain his contract from here? Then again, your reserves aren't really being taxed very much. Or perhaps Caster or Tomoko have found a new body for you to use! Though, you will kind of miss the old one. Still, at least you don't have Archer stabbing your soul anymore. You're rather certain this would be much more unpleasant right now if you still had that body.

But, this connection is a good sign. You tentatively prod it with your magic, and feel it out, attempting to find where it goes. As soon as your magic reaches out, you feel Caster's familiar presence and suddenly you're gasping and coughing on the bed in your warehouse with Tomoko panicking as Caster watches you calmly from his position at the foot of the bed.

"Nicolas! Thank goodness you're okay! Caster said he wasn't certain if you would be able to remember how to connect to a body and that you might be stuck in that place forever!" Tomoko wails, latching onto you. Your brain is running at a hundred miles an hour, trying to catch up with everything. Sayaka is slumped on a box, her armor and outfit cut up, skin pale and clammy. You do not see or feel Candeloro's presence, either.

~I apologize for the lack of quality in the body we appropriated, Master, but I merely hypnotized the first available person that Tomoko could find.~ Caster apologizes as you look over your new body. A young woman in a skirt and white shirt, wearing a denim jacket over it. Your hair is fairly long and strawberry blonde, although it is currently done up in drills. As well, this body feels a little weak compared to your old one.

"...She was pretty..." Tomoko mumbles shyly as you stand and stretch slightly. You're shorter than before, probably a little shorter than Archer had been.

"It's alright. It's alright." You reassure her, giving her a light hug as she sniffles slightly into your shoulder, "I'm here now."

"Y-you were right." She mumbled.

"Hm?"

"About John and Monster. You told me that someone who summoned Monster couldn't be very good." She mumbled softly.

"You couldn't have known. Hell, even I trusted them." You point out. Tomoko pouts slightly but she seems a fair amount calmer than when you first woke up. "So, Caster, who do we have left?" You ask him seriously, as you rub Tomoko's back reassuringly as she clings to you tightly.

~Ayase and Sayaka. I very nearly had to boost Sayaka and summon my last resort.~ He warned, ~Luckily, Sayaka's battle continuation and allowed her to escape. The others didn't pursue her as they dealt with Candeloro, and they are still alive. John will take some time to recover, however.~

"I see." You mumble. On the one hand, its disappointing to lose someone so powerful, on the other you had fears of her being a liability.

~As well, you were luckily only out for several hours, the time it took for us to acquire your body and adapt it quickly.~ Caster informed you.

"Dr. Jeckyll and I still have to work on some stuff as well. Oh, and Assassin said she couldn't find that person you thought you saw at the old school." Tomoko tells you.

"Ah, thank you. Also, don't bother trying to return here, I plan to move bases." You add.

"Where to?" She asks curiously. Which is a good question. Where do you want to try and set up a new base?

I'm going to assume they came with us, because our Seals being gone is something Coobs would have both noticed and alerted us to, presumably.

Prior knowledge tells me this shouldn't be the case, since cutting off the arm they're on is a known way of removing them, but then again there isn't a precedent for a Master developing the ability to transmigrate his soul freely between bodies.
>>
"At the school, probably. I'll meet you there, so don't bother waiting up for me, okay?" You tell her. She nods and bids you goodbye. Once she's gone you quickly check your body for your Command Seals, in a fit of worry. Both hands and arms are bare.

~Ah, Master. If you are looking for your Seals they are upon your back. We managed to salvage them from the imprint they make upon your soul, although it meant we had to attempt to artificially reconstruct them upon the body that you are currently wearing.~ Caster informed you, ~As well, magic may difficult for you for a while, as I had to attempt to make artificial magic circuits in your new body so that they could connect to the circuits in your soul.~

"Ah, thank you for that warning. If you wouldn't mind coming along and assisting me in attempting to find a suitable body or two?" You ask him. He nods and hops up onto your shoulders with ease. "Sayaka, will you be find here for now?" You ask her.

"Yeah. Ayase is patrolling around. I'm just trying to recover some energy off of the generators. I'll be fine with some time." She assured you. With that taken care of, you head out into town to try and find a new body.

You roll your shoulders slightly, getting Caster's attention, and gazing over towards the young man walking down the road. Caster shakes himself slightly and prepares himself as you walk up to the young man. As you get closer to revise your opinion of his age. Less of a young man, and more a boy on the cusp of adulthood. Probably around 15 or so. A uniform for one of the private high schools, too. "Hey." You call out, placing your hand on his shoulder. He turns to look at you and Caster's eyes stare into his.

"Oh, hey, Julie. How're you?" He says suddenly, a faint pink outline around his pupils.

~I've hypnotized him into think he knows you. It should last long enough for us to get him to the school and restrained.~ Caster informed you.

"Hey, I need your help moving some stuff around. Mind coming with me?" You ask.

"Sure, no problem." He says, turning to follow you.

------------

Caster sits atop the boy's chest as the body lies on the stone slab in the basement of the library, his long ears extending into the chest of the body. ~There, that should do.~ He said, ~Now, I shall return to the warehouse to retrieve Sayaka and Ayase and your materials.~

"Thank you." You say as he disappears. Dr. Jeckyll is at the desk doing something to some of the sludge from the pit in the center.

"Oh, not much. Just trying to see if I can attune this to more than one person at a time. Currently, it only bonds to one person at time, limiting its utility." She mumbles.

"Wait, is this stuff like a Mystic Code?" You ask her.

"Akin to one. Maybe a bit more than that, but far from a Noble Phantasm." She replied.

"I see. So its like that one guy, Lord El-Melloi or some such, with that mercury blob? Just that this one is made of flesh?"

"A little different. This one is more symbiotic than familiar like." Dr. Jeckyll replies. Upstairs, you hear a door open and close and Tomoko chattering in her native language with Assassin who answers back in her typical soft spoken fashion. "And our current patient arrives!" ...I can't think of a reason why that shouldn't work. Hell, it would be a bit easier for Coobs to manipulate it to better suit our soul, or for him to cycle through non-essential megucas to find one that matches our element. There would be a bit of a prana cost, but if the body hibernates on the leyline when we're not using it...
Downside is that the body won't last after the war is over. When Coobs goes, that body goes.
>>
>>25574971

Not as experienced as a servant so our fighting style will be weaker. Not only that but servants are far easier to notice then humans. If we get a servant body it should be a real servants body. Not a magical girl a magical girl has the experience of combat enough to fight. Meaning we would just be tossing away the girl really. On the other hand if we get a new servant well it isn't like we can keep it around to began with so the body is worth keeping.

"How's that going by the way?" You asked.

"Really awesome!" Tomoko exclaims.

"Yes, well, the results are proving to be rather excellent. As well, the material responds to her Origin excellently, and incorporates itself into her body with ease, healing certain problems she was, ah, born with. As well, she's managed to adapt to her own unique magic." Dr. Jeckyll replied.

"What do you mean?" You ask her.

"Look, I'm Assassin!" You hear from behind you. When you turn around to face Tomoko and her Servant, you see Assassin in her maid outfit, and Assassin in Tomoko's clothes wearing Tomoko's classic grin.

"I...See. And how are you doing this?" You ask her.

"Well, the more of the black goop life of blood stuff I have in my body, the more I can reshape my body when I mimic someone with my Magic! Also, I've gotten pretty good at just reshaping myself a bit!" Tomoko said as her flesh seemed to ripple and she became her normal self again.

"And today we're going to attempt to add another 20 kilos to her tonight." Dr. Jeckyll added. Tomoko nods and begins to strip down and Assassin picks up Tomoko's clothes as she sheds them. Once completely nude, Tomoko climbs down into the pool of sludge and Dr. Jeckyll begins to inscribe symbols around the pit and pouring chemicals into various parts of the inscription.

"It's good to see that you're alright." She says softly.

"I wouldn't have been without you and Tomoko helping Caster." You reply. She merely shrugs as she falls in step with you a pace behind and slightly to the left. You both quietly walk to the old warehouse where you find Caster directing the two Magical Girls in dismantling some of the magical generators and any of the materials put into defense that you could salvage.

"Good. We want to salvage as much of this as possible." You tell him.

~Excellent. We should, hopefully, be able to get many of the raw physical materials back from this, which should help us in the long run.~ Caster replied.

"As well, do you think its possible to adapt one of your Servant's bodies for me to use?" You ask him. Sayaka stiffens slightly at that as she piles up the materials from one of the traps.

~Technically, yes, but there is risk of contamination from the Witch of any of the girls running rampant. Particularly if I used my ability to enhance one of the other girls. And then there is the mana cost involved. I made shortcuts so that Archer's body was still siphoning mana from her Master to assist in maintaining the body. The load would increase dramatically without such assistance.~ Caster explained.

"I see..." You mumbled as Ayase and Sayaka finished gathering the last of the salvageable materials. With that taken care of, your group sets off to the college again. Halfway there, you were walking through a back ally when you spotted a little boy, probably only eight or nine, standing in the street, staring at you.

While we wait I might as well make a list of what I think we should do for people to think on. No real order.

1. Move base and get a few possible back ups.
2. Gain 2-3 bodies bodies.
3. Get some real weapons just in case we get in combat again. Check to see if cubes can enchant a few.
4. Start working on getting a hard counter to what we have seen so far. He should have a magical girl we can use.
5. Build more familiars of the stealth type and send them all over the place.
6. Work on mana generators and the like so we can get more magical girls online faster and perhaps lighten the load of keeping cubes active.
7. Build our defenses up big time and check to see how well our roommate has grown. May need to use her in combat more often.

Yep. gotta vote this, i mean seriously, we just got back from the land of the dead, we should enjoy some life.
>>
I'd say we should work on not hitting the land of the dead twice. Though I do think we should talk with Tomoko just not right now. Lets get our infrastructure up right now so our defenses and generators don't suck when we are attacked again.
>>
>As well, I apologize if the difficulty seemed a little high, but you only needed 1 success to live.
42% chance of killing off a character independent of situation seems a little excessive

You will admit, you're a little tired and Assassin's gentle insistence is very hard to argue against as she assists you in undressing and crawling into the bed. Tomoko mumbles and sleepily grabs hold of you as Assassin folds your clothes. The last thing you remember is Assassin crawling into the bed with you two before you fall asleep.

Throughout the night, your dreams are haunted by flashes of pink and pure white interspersed with splashes of something dark and purple. But when you awake, you awake comfortable and warm with Tomoko clinging to one side of you and mumbling into your shoulder. Assassin is sleeping lightly on the other side, clinging to one arm. You'd never really noticed how tiny Tomoko seemed until now. Even the small Assassin had more of a figure and mass than her Master. Groggily, Assassin blinks her eyes open and looks up at you.

"Morning. Would you like breakfast, Master?" She asked quietly.

[]Yes, please.
[]No, but a coffee would be nice before I head out to work

Coffee's for old people, just splash yourself with cold water or something.

Think i'd let Tomoko field this one, as Assassin is asking her master, not her master's... good friend.

Thinking we should leave. Get cubes to strengthen our defenses around this joit while we sit about 3 feet away building a generator discussing strategy like any useful magical girls he can see us using and how many prana generators would we need to keep a magical girl around without straining ourselves. Then cofee/food/whatever we chose.

"Assassin, is it odd that I don't find waking up in bed with two women, while inhabiting the stolen body of a third woman, particularly strange? Because logically I should be really freaked out right now, and yet I'm not."

"Anyway, don't mind my ramblings, coffee please."

Does this girl ever NOT look ill?

"Ah, no thank you. Just coffee would be fine." You tell her as she gets dressed into her maid outfit.

"Very well. Creamer, sugar?" She asks.

"Black, with a few chunks of ice." You request as you carefully extract yourself from Tomoko's grip and sit down at the small table in her room as Assassin sets about preparing your coffee and breakfast for the still sleeping Tomoko.

"Mmm, Nee-chan, are there pancakes?" She mumbles sleepily.

"Yes, Master. They'll be ready when you're up." Assassin informs her. After several minutes Tomko manages to crawl out of bed and over to the table as Assassin serves you your coffee and Tomoko a plate of pancakes.

Want to get the basics out of the way before trouble. Faster we get on it the least likely it will happen with us unprepared.

>>25577936

A true magi cares naught for the body but the soul of course. heh.
>>
>>25577970
talking about her current experiment seems like a civil thing to do, with or without asking why she wanted to become more proficient with self modification. Though i suppose disguises dont always work if you look exactly like a specific person all the time
>>25577953
Nope. she pretty much always looks like that, though its not really sickness as much as its too much internet and eroge.
>>
>>25577953

Tomoko is basically /jp/ only in female form. This ends about as badly as you would expect.
>>

>[]Take a moment, talk with Tomoko about her current experiment thingy

Please Tomoko, don't use your new-found shapeshifting powers to go full /d/ on us. Or do, your call really.
>>
>>25578127
Can't help but wonder what sort of shenanigans epilogue us got up to as DAA #7 (originally the forest in canon. Forest was killed and 7 is number of the lovers in major arcana so it fits) in the bedroom. When you have two bored immortals one of whom is a shapeshifter and the other of whom is a body hopper then you have a formula for all sorts of weirdness developing.

"So, Tomoko, what prompted you to try this experiment with the whole shapeshifting?" You ask her, taking a sip of your coffee as you do so.

"Well, first I just wanted to fix my disorder that prevented me from ever developing, the shapeshifting abilities caught us a little off guard when I was trying to mimic Dr. Jeckyll's skills to help out. Now, I can be whoever I want, which is kind of nice, actually." Tomoko explains. She stands and her skin ripples as she grows taller and curvier. "I can have all the curves, or the DFC! World domination is at my fingertips!" She declares proudly, "Although I keep having to put on an awful lot of weight to have the mass to shift around as I need it." She admits, sitting back down in her now too small t-shirt.

"I see that. You know, I thought you were just fine before." You assure her. She blushes slightly and her form ripples, shrinking back to normal.

"I know, but...I like being like that sometimes. Its nice being the tall one and the pretty one sometimes." Tomoko grumbled.

"Anyways, today I'll probably be rather busy with reinforcing my current position. I'll probably have Caster cover your room as well, if you don't just move in with me. Hopefully the others assume I'm dead." You tell her.

"Ah, okay. Should Assassin and I go hunting for John and the others?" Tomoko asks.

[X]no it's too dangerous.
Assassin can start shanking bitches soon but for now we need to be ready to defend at a moment's notice
>>
>>25578627

[X] Info is key. Don't let her get into a fight yet though just scout out everywhere.

This is also a good time to jack some fire arms for our use.
>>
>>25578627
To dangerous to move against them for now,
>>
>>25578627
>[]No, it's too dangerous

Lets see how the situation develops before we make any moves. Acting hastily is what got us killed the first time around.
>>
Honestly I would rather have intel on where they are at least. Attacking right now though is a bad move however. We need more generators more defenses. More meguca. More bodies to spare. Better Intel. All in all we are lacking most of what we need. Though at least we have a good alliance right now.

We might want to figure out a place to hide a few spares as well. Just in case our position is compromised.

Well guys, I'm calling it here for the night. I need to get some sleep. If someone doesn't mind archiving this, it would be much appreciated. We'll pick up next week with Turtling Defenses and whatnot.

I wonder how long it will take until Sayaka tries to murder us.
She's definitely really fucking uncomfortable with the way we treat people.
>>
>>25580831
I'm wondering that myself.
First we make Mami witch out. Then we have her work with said witch for several days. Then we summon another meguca that sets her on fire. And then we talk about taking over another Meguca's body.
As much as I would like to patch things up between us, I think it might just be easier to kill her off. We've pretty much let the statute of limitations run out for apologizing for accidentally turning Mami into a witch, so there's no way we could really apologize for that.
