You gently place Daniu on the ground. He's breathing hard. He backs away from you, dusting himself off.

You keep your gaze locked on Jun as you move back toward Abigail. <Fang,> you say. <I can confirm it was him that interfered. Do we act?>

<No,> Fang replies. <I barely felt it myself. There's no concrete evidence, and I don't want to reveal your intelligence.>

<Understood.>

Abigail runs up to you. "You did it!" She raises her hand. "High five!"

You very gently give her a high five, then fold back up into her shadow, vanishing from sight. Abigail walks over the Daniu, and curtseys. "My uncle said I should thank you for a duel after it, so, thanks. It was kinda fun, we should do it again! I mean, if you want."

"...I underestimated you," Daniu says. "I apologize. It won't happen again." He walks back toward his father.

"...did I make him mad?" Abigail asks you.

<He'll get over it,> you tell her. <He's probably not used to losing.>

"Oh." Abigail walks back to Fang. "Did I do good, Unc - I mean, um, archmage?"

Fang smiles - and for the first time you've seen, it's not disdainful, or evil, or full of spite. It's just the smile of a proud uncle. "You did quite well, Abby. You can...call me uncle, anytime. Alright?"

"Really?!"

"Really really."

Abigail gives him a brief hug. Fang seems to have no idea what to do with all the affection. He gives her an odd pat on the head, and she breaks with him to talk to Adavan.

You wonder if that's what you looked like the first time she hugged you.

Jun swiftly makes his way over to Tae Wong. "My lord, Ive have some business to attend to. I apologize, but I must leave early. I thank you for your hospitality."

Tae Wong gives him a smirk. "The Cheung family is always welcome in my home. I'm glad you got to see the duel."

"Yes," Fang said. "The families should all have a good measure of the other's strength. It's important to build trust between the members of the next generation. What better way than to have them exercise against one another in the privacy of our homes, -unhindered- by outside influences?"

Jun gives him a brief nod, then continues on his way.

Wong chuckles. "That was cruel."

"Hae Cheung has gone too far," Fang says. "If his nephew's message does not firmly put him off, it will be the last time he crosses the line."

"Well, archmage," Tae Wong says, extending a hand. "Shall we adjourn to my study...to talk?"

"Certainly."

The two men walk off for a private conversation.

Meanwhile, Yan is flustering over Abigail's performance in the duel. "That was amazing! You truly are one to inherit the tower. There's been a lot of rumors, but seeing it for myself was something else!"

"Well, um...Mr. Shadow did some," Abigail says.

Yan waves a hand. "Well, I don't know what happened with that revenant, but if it hadn't, Daniu wouldn't have had enough time to bring up the full armor. He doesn't have father's speed. Anyway, we should duel next time! I've been practicing controlling water in a sort of sphere, kind of like your shadow, and I'd love to put it up against that revenant! What do you say?"

"Um...well, sure!"

"Good. That, and we can get your nails properly painted," Yan says matter-of-factly. "I'm sure your uncle won't mind you visiting."

"You think so?"

Adavan chuckles. "I bet I can convince him to let you wander over."

The rest of the group adjourns to the parlor. When Fang emerges from Tae Wong's study, you can tell he's in a good mood. After a few goodbyes and promises to meet and speak again soon, you're walked out of the manor grounds and board Yi Fang's ship. It swiftly rises into the air.

<Well?> you ask.

"Vote number four," Fang says. "One more - and it's already lined up."

<What's next?>

"Councilor Ming To," Fang says. "She'll be a bit easier, I think. She just wants a bribe. I can handle that myself - much more simple. Probably a book from my collection, or a spell. Something of that nature."

You cruise along, content in Abby's happiness and pleased with the outcome of events. It seems, that for once, everything went smoothly. You can't help feeling that it's about damn time.

The boat trembles.

<...what was that?>

Fang frowns. "...the flight spell. Something's - "

The boat quakes, then begins to plummet from the sky!

Adavan grabs the railing, dragging Abigail tight under his arm. "We're under attack! Ten of them, at least!"

Fang looks at you as he wraps an arm around the ship's decorative mast. "Stop us from crashing! I've got to focus my magic to fend them off!"

You sprint toward the rail of the ship.

You fly under the boat and spread your wings. You press your back up against the underside of the ship, and it begins to slow immediately. It's a strain, but you manage to land it without too much trouble.

You hear Fang shout, and not 1 - but 5 - gates to the nether open around him.

What steps out of them is not a revenant. They're ghostly, ethereal - and they wield massive scythes wrapped in dark magic.

Reapers.

The enemy forces converge on the ship from all sides. There's a succubus, three crow demons, two enemy reapers, and four earthen golems of a variety of shapes and sizes. No actual mages.

Fang uses his magic to propel himself up to the crows nest as his phantoms streak off to meet the enemy assault. Succubi fire engulfs the ground on its side of the ship, and rapidly spreads. "Adavan, protect her!" Fang shouts. "And try to put out those fires. Shadow - find these damn mages and kill them!" He begins to form some sort of barrier around the ship - not unlike what you saw Magnock use back in Palthair.

<Guard Abigail!> you tell the wisp. The wisp zips around your head, then flies toward Adavan, who is building some kind of shield out of Spirit and Shadow magic around the two of them.

>mana: 28/34

You use Deep Focus.

With their powerful magic active, it's not difficult for you to find them. The souls of six mages burn behind the next ridge, about a half-mile distant.

Fang can probably fend them off, given time, but a moment of inattention could prove disastrous. Speed is vital. But you worry about charging six mages head-on...

Oh, I just had a thought. If we eventually go "public" with Haven and us leading, the people in Archon just might possibly realize that the shadowy thing Abby summoned wasn't really a summon? It's a stretch, but I think electing a figurehead with us as the de facto leader would still be worth considering. It is the shadowy thing to control from behind the scenes, right?
Of course, the secret approach would have its own share of problems.

>>

>supersonic. Make yourself a distraction

Do this the other way around: close a quarter-mile of distance while letting them see you coming, then while they still think you're a quarter mile out, blink right up on them and start smashing away with Hydra.

Don't use Nightblaze, since it'll end their concentration and stop the summons; better to let Yi Fang and Adavan hold them off and force the mages to keep half of their focus on maintaining control of their summons.

You flap hard to bring yourself above the level of the ship, then gather your aura behind you and tuck in your wings...

BOOM

You roar toward the ridge, clearing the edge in an instant. You're not sure if you distracted the mages, but you sure are making a lot of noise. It would be hard to mess that up. And then you do two things.

You fire a Shade on your exact path. For a moment, you're almost hiding within it.

>mana: 27/34

And then you Blink, instantly appearing on the ground next to your targets. Every face is turned toward the sky, watching your oncoming shade. They wear robes with deep cowls pulled low. You can't see their faces.

But you're a little surprised, because there's a seventh mage standing right next to you. This close, you can feel him - Shadow.

Seems they're good at hiding. Heh. Of course. You should really watch out for them in the future.

You stretch out before he can turn and snap his neck like a twig. You catch him, setting his body down gently so it doesn't make any noise.

Your shade is about to meet a magic barrier they're setting up. They'll see through the illusion in moments, but they haven't noticed you.

The strongest mage is in the center of the group, surrounded by the others.

They're already focused on maintaining 10 summoned creatures, as well as maintaining a magical barrier they think has to keep out something capable of breaking the sound barrier.

Similarly, we were able to break out of Darkxis' Shadow Control when in Berserk, as well as breaking Magnock's magical barrier, where we weren't able to while NOT berserk.

Since Spirit mages are likely to try and Bind us to stop us from doing things, and an Earth mage is likely to erect a physical barrier, the Berserk strength boost should be just as effective as burning a Nightblaze, if not moreso.

Everyone voting 1: WE ALREADY HAVE THE ELEMENT OF SURPRISE.

We don't need to disguise ourselves from the people we're attacking in order to get the drop on them; we've already done it.

This is the time to start killing them, not the time to try and do EVEN MORE subterfuge to the exclusion of actual attacks.

We aren't really a shadow elemental, we're the elemental lord of SURPRISE!
>>
1 is a really stupid option and this is a waste of our time.
Just sayin.
>>
>>25594554
Everyone is too focused on being clever and replacing the shadow mage to realize that it doesn't actually benefit us to do so.

Either they turn around and try and take out the Shadow Mage that they think betrayed them, or they turn around and try and take out the Shadow Elemental that showed up behind them. Either way, their course of action is the same; the difference is only our decision to waste an action trying to be unnecessarily sneaky.
>>
>>25594554
I think the concern was that berserk lowers our defenses, and we are in the middle of a pack of mages.

We can go berserk afterwards, and this gives us a second to consume the body.
>>
>>25594505

No. Darkness Within is Berserk turned up to 11. Even with Tao, while you're berserk, you can't use other abilities. It would be broken as fuck. Pocket is bad enough already.

BUT SO MUCH POTENTIAL

>inb4 kinetic bombs from SPAIS

1 wins by alot.

Yes, you'll be consuming first, otherwise replicating him would be ridiculous.

You could attempt to do this with the speed afforded by gaping maw. You don't have to make a mouth - just an opening.

------------------
------------------

You eat the shadow mage like a starving leper, setting a new speed record.

>you've gained 3 EXP (5 total)

An interesting idea strikes you. Why not take his place? You step forward as the mage, perfectly disguised.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQ1QMTQgt2I

You level a hand at the stronger spirit mage in the center of the ground. Shadow condenses in your palm, and fires a pinpoint beam of darkness.

>mana: 22/34

A gaping hole appears in the chest of the Spirit mage, destroying his heart. His hand feebly feels at his torso, and then he drops like a stone. You feel strong magics vanish in the distance - the two reapers are gone.

The mages spin toward their fallen comrade, shocked. The two closest to you run forward. That's a mistake.

You fly into a berserk, smashing them both into the ground like ragdolls. Their spines snap from the force, and they're dead even as their bodies bounce into the air from the strike.

The remaining three mages back away from you. Expressions of fear are plain on their faces. They look ready to bolt.

Roll 1d100 to continue your berserk.

>>
You sprint forward toward the the next closest mage - another spirit mage. A berserk, spiked shadow of many-armed death, you don't particularly care, as long as you kill something that stands in your way.

The earth mage throws up a wall to stop you, but you smash through it without too much trouble.

>you've taken 3 damage (45/56)

You slam into the spirit mage and snap him in a way you're pretty sure he wouldn't normally be able to go. His life force immediately starts to fade.

You turn toward the remaining two mages. One turns and starts running, and the other follows. It's the last Spirit mage, and the Earth mage.

What do you do?

>>25594946
Nah, it's just that the deck was greatly stacked in our favour. Ray of Darkness is a really powerful single target ability, he had no Resistance, AND shadow magic power was doubled. That he survived that spell shows he had a pretty stronk HP pool. Sandalphon himself would probably drop to three of those, barring outside interference.

The mages should have defended themselves with magic, or used it to escape. But panicked as they are, they fell back on that last defense humans have: their feet.

You sprint several times faster than they can run, catching up in just a few seconds. You clothesline both of them, catching them in clawed limbs, and slam them together in front of you.

It's a...crushing defeat. For the enemy.

You could consume these mages now...or some of them. Either way, Fang should probably take a look at some of their faces. You can already feel him on his way.

He's coming in slow, though. Any souls you wait on will have already dissipated by the time he gets there...

What do you do?

If that mage with the broken spine isn't dead yet, stabilize them with healing for Fang to interrogate. Eat the rest while memorizing their faces.
>>
>>25595350

Can we just memories their faces and eat them all? We can later mimic their appearances.
>>
>>25595385
Doubt it, but it would be neat to throw the heads through Jun's window.
>>
>>25595335
Interestingly, depending on his level of mastery of Spirit magic, it's possible that Yi Fang would be able to re-summon one of the summoned entities (probably the Succubus, as they are probably easier to communicate with than Reapers, Crow Demons or Golems), and have them testify as to who it was that summoned them, and for what purpose.

Not sure if it's possible to ascertain a summon's true name, or even enough distinguishing information to resummon them, barring that, just by sight, even with Yi Fang's level of expertise, though.
>>
>>25595350
>and slam them together in front of you.
>It's a...crushing defeat.
You fucker, that was horrible.
I can't stop laughing help.
>>
>>25595350
>consume all but the stronger Spirit mage
We need SOLID evidence. Hopefully this Spirit mage is the evidence they need.
>>
>>25595350
>check all their faces yourself, then consume them. You can use Replicate to show Fang each face.
>>
If we eat them there is no physical evidence for Fang to use to punish his enemies. Come on dudes.
>>
>>25595405

Excuse me, I am a idiot for now reading it all.
>>
>>25595406
We could try eating all but the head of one of them, and seeing if we get the normal exp for mages.
>>
>>25595423
>evidence
Nigga this ain't Law and Order. We just gon' deliver SHADOW JUSTICE up on they asses.
>>
Memorizing each face doesn't give us solid evidence in court. We can handle this issue easily, and give Abigail the support she needs from the public. How many votes will the failed assassination attempt get her?
>>
>>25595423
We can leave any identifying family jewelery/crests I'd imagine.

Archon seems like the kind of society where people would be wearing distinctive family jewels around places just to flaunt your status.
>>
>>25595399
>>25595423
alright, you have convenced me. eat all but one of the weaker ones, unless the strongest is stil alive. if he is heal him up for a snack later. if not eat him. we need physical evidence to back us up. but we do not need to strongest.
>>
>>25595441
If we get approval to go eat the guy sending the assassins all those votes he bought will have be up in the air again.
>>
>>25595454
And with unanimous support behind Abigail, no one (or at least fewer people) are going to send assassins after her.
>>
>>25595350
>check all their faces yourself, then consume them. You can use Replicate to show Fang each face.

This is all the evidence we need in Shadow court.
>>
>>25595384
>>25595451

Changing my vote to some variation of keeping one of them alive, if there are any. We can always eat them later.
>>
>>25595480

We aren't going to be able to use this evidence in Archon Court, and at the moment, it's Archon Court.

>>
>>25595526
Or have someone honest, like the councillor Yi Fang just got the vote from to take the place of judge. Besides, with infallible evidence, the man would have to be executed or jailed.
>>
>>25595545
We can easily deal with this asshole of a councillor, and gain Abby huge amounts of support. Right now, the political gain is greater than the exp gain of eating the best of the mages.
>>
>>25595557
If Fang was able to do that he wouldn't have build a SOUL TORTURE CHAMBER THAT HE ALREADY MADE PUBLIC WAS FOR ANYONE THAT TRIED TO HARM ABBY
>>
I'm pretty sure Archons justice system is pretty primitive, considering Yi Fang had us EAT the family that tried to kill Abby several times.
>>
Guys; we can just mentally communicate with Yi Fang right now. It doesn't matter how slow he's moving towards us physically.

Just ask if he needs a body or not.

Not sure how people have been forgetting that this is an option.
>>
>>25595579
That's a bit different. Someone has tried to harm Abby, and if we can prove that it was the councillor who tried to unsummon us,then we can have him executed and removed from the picture.
>>
>>25595570
>>25595557
Just stop posting, your "argument" reminds me of the things people said to justify not eating the wind mage when we already knew that we would face a fucking demon lord later in the warzone.

Seriously. Mr.Fang's Wild Ride is pretty much proof that the justice system in Archon is basically nonexistant

You consume all of the mages.

The ones you killed first have almost 'bled' dry...but you absorb a scant bit of their energy. The strongest Spirit mage should make a good meal.

You're not surprised when you pull back his cowl. Jun Cheung. He'd been planning this from the start.

You finish off your snacks.

>you gain 8 EXP (total: 13)
>you gain 5 HP (50/56)
>you gain 5 mana (27/34)
>you gain 6 temerity (227)

You wait patiently for Fang to arrive. And arrive he does. He settles to the ground next to you. "Good work, Shadow."

You warp your face to replicate the appearance of Jun Cheung. <Guess who led this little ambush?>

Fang slowly smiles an evil, evil smiles. "Now, Shadow. You didn't tell me you could do THAT."

<Do what?>

"That disguise...is perfect." As impossible as it seems, his smile widens. "A dash of spirit, and you'd be the spitting soul of Jun Cheung."

<...what are you planning?>

"I won't need to buy a vote if we annihilate the Cheung family," Fang says. "I warned them - I warned him, personally, to keep his ugly face out of this. And now, I've got the perfect method of infiltration. An undetectable replica of his favored nephew!"

Fang cackles like a madman bent on revenge - which is exactly, you realize, what he is.

You think about how Abigail might have been harmed, and you feel as though you're more than up to the task.

We also didn't have proof that they attacked Abby. Besides, the justice system isn't so important as the fact that if we can prove publicly that the asshole councillor was behind the assassination attempt, then we can cause him to lose his public support.
>>
>>25595579

Well, for reference, he only privately announced it to the councilors.

Of course, that means all the families know about it...and the rumor mill churns, and the city knows about it, too.

But it wasn't publically announced. The benevolent and caring ruler of Archon would never do something so barbarous.

Goddammit. I'm getting real sick of going along with all of Fang's plots just because he's got Abby's safety at heart too.

We've spent most of our character development on breaking out of the cycle of revenge and I don't want to help him with his. We really need to see what we can do to reform this country's political system. Being surrogate father of it's future ruler is a start but I feel really hypocritical doing all this to give her that chance.

>>
>>25595782
Except it's not something we need to do? Fang already said getting the next vote would just be an easy bribe. This new plan is just personal revenge with direction.
>>
>>25595758

If we're to make our dream of establishing Haven a reality we need some serious backing behind other powers in this setting. Getting Fang into our good graces by getting Abby placed at the top as his successor will be a huge asset for us, and we also need his help to cure Flint of the parasite as well.
>>
>>25595811
Why not get Construct first and see what it leads to?
>>
So since we've got it confirmed that one of our guesses is correct as far as unlocking Darkness Within goes, I'll try to list them. Or the ones I can remember which aren't completely ridiculous.

-Plot (SM has strongly suggested it isn't this.)
-The remaining resistances in the physical trees PLUS Schattenkrieg as part of a preliminary tree, as SM pointed out.
-Shadowrage
-Pure Darkness
-Schatterkrieg by itself

Can't remember any others, but Shadowrage as a "berserking" ability makes sense to me as a prerequisite.
>>
>>25595829
That's what I really want to do.
>>
>>25595758
This is one of those times where Vengeance and Justice align in a happy little coincidence. Fang gets his revenge, Shadow eats some dude who hires assassins to kill a 9 year old girl.

>Fang already said getting the next vote would just be an easy bribe. This new plan is just personal revenge with direction.

Are you retarded? This isn't about the vote, the Cheung family stopped using lesser families and finaly attacked Abby in the open. We NEED to stop this cause they won't rest as long as Abby is a candidate for succession.

Guys, why don't we get something from the summon tree for once? Ghost or Ghoul obviously lead to things we'd want to get in the future, especially since whatever follows after Shadow Totem has to be interesting, and we know Grave Silence would help with being sneaky, one of our strong suites. It also happens to be our least explored tree, and I'm pretty sure SM said that future upgrades would allow us to get off the summoning templates which means muscle wispbro could become a reality.

but summoning one removes any chance of low level summons breaking control, at least wisp, ghoul, fae, and ghost

My preference is on using mana for other things, damage, buffs, magic cancelling, etc. I want as large a pool as possible. I'm fine with two or three summons because I can think of several situations where they would have been useful already, but my preference remains.

>>25596088
It was a reference to the regents requires for the summoning of the succubus.
I've got no way of knowing if our high level summons would need something similar but in meta, agreeing on what to summon when and how to use it is another layer on SM's vote cake. I'd love to sling ethereals around to have scouts but many opinions and plotting just takes so much thread time. Which is good, but clunky.

I guess now we know what that instant teleport ability for great distances that SM hinted before was.

>>

Okay, so our buying list for next upgrade should be : Wind resistance,Schattenkrieg, Gaping Maw, and start with the Natural immunity tree since we almost have that completed.

Guys. I would like to posit that the Shadow tree, as the biggest and thus most costly skill tree will net us the biggest of rewards.

Picking up Wind resistance and/or Schattenkrieg for a quick super skill is fine, but we should focus our efforts on Shadow exclusively for a while.
>>
Wind resist would be a good one to finish off since it's gonna give us some defense buff. Hopefully it's another passive thing like Vaporal, because I don't see these spend XP abilities getting much use.

When it runs low on mana, it will have to close with us in melee if it wants to refill, and then we just get to manhandle it as it will have low mana reserves and we would 100% outclass it in physical combat..

and that's exactly what he'll do
>>
>>25597076
Or Flint
>>
>>25597066

>implying we're not powerful enough to maybe kick his shit in if he tries
>>
>>25597061
I mean, we've gotten XP from OTHER summoned creatures before, not sure what would stop us from getting XP from these (hypothetical) ones.
>>
>>25597087
He wouldn't do that to Flint.
Never to Flint!
>>
>>25597065

I KNOW

>>25597076

I KNOW!!!

COME ON GUYS

WHAT'S THE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN

Anyway, I really do have to go to sleep now, so I'll stop having a hilariously good time throwing gasoline on your speculation.

Next thread probably Monday? Maybe. Depends on how tired I am, family, etc.

OH FUCK THE RAGNAROK TRACKED THE NOIRALEV TO THE BREAKERS

MFW

Socksandsandlefon says fuckit and launches a full scale war on Archon because he thinks we belong to Fang and so he holds him responsible for the shadow mage jailbreak. and Abby-sabby is caught in the middle
>>
>>25597044
>Summoning shard summons Dave.
>Dave curses and then partly posseses Yi Fang
>We must put Yi Fang down all while he screams at us to kill him before he hurts Abby-Sabby.
>>
>>25597106
That's beginner level speculation. We need to embrace the KUBOVERSE if we want to get to 5th level predictions.
>>
>>25597087
But Flint is not the waifu, so he is safe (for now at least).
>>
i dont think we have to worry about losing any shards. every shard we have found comes from a shadow mana pool somewhere nearby. so i think that if we make a shadow mana pool, and there is an unused shard, the mana pool over time will generate the missing elemental
>>
>>25597115
>We call him Dave
>He gets depressed
>Stops possessing Yi Fang since his name is that average
>>
>>25597132
>On the other hand:
> A new age of evil descends upon the land.
>All come to know and fear the name of DAVE, SCOURGE OF VENIA
>>
>>25597127
>the mana pool over time will generate the missing elemental
>We kill the Titanic Berserk shard
>We fail at consuming
>The shard is lost to us and it gets revived at the nearest shadow pool at max health
>>
>>25597132
Adolf was a pretty average name up until the 1940s
>>
>>25597155
>And then, even more vile and cruel than DAVE,
>a shadow elemental named Mr. Shadow rises to power, and topples him empire with a mighty CONSUME
>>
>>25597173
But it doesn't sound as rediculously normal as Dave.
>>
>>25597173

"Hitler" literally meant "Cobbler." If only the never-sufficiently-to-be-damned fucker had taken his dad's name.
>>
>>25597155
>in covert whispers, there can be heard rumors of a secret cabal whose goal is to overthrow this great tyrant
>whispers that speak of JUSTICE, and a benevolent shadow who works tirelessly to unite the land under something besides an iron fist
>and sometimes, rarely, in even more secretive tones, the whispers speak of how Dave is such a stupid name for an ultimate evil, anyway, c'mon
>>
>>25597124
Well, it sounds plausible but how about something extra.
>rumors spread that we are Abigail's summon and not Fangs
>Abigail becomes the main target for both our attack on the Ring City and her lineage
>>
>>25597210

Father Shadow and the Justice League.
>>
>>25597238

Shadow: Superman (Manhunter?)
Flint: Batman
Auriel: Wonder Woman
Ila: Hawkgirl
Adavan: Green Lantern
Yi Fang: ???
Abigail: ???
Tyrael: Hawkman?
Obis: ???
Joey: Redshirt
>>
>>25597309
>Yi Fang
DOCTOR DOOM
>>
>>25597309
Yi fang is obviously Flash and Obis is Aquaman.
>>
>>25597309

>Abigail: Supergirl
>>
>>25597309
>Superman
Why not super girl? You scared of a STRONG FEMALE LEAD?

In all seriousness, though, I bet you're one of those people that thinks shadow can't be female purely because we haven't been sexing everything up.
>>
>>25597352

Because we're the leader, and Abigail, as a confirmed female, fits better as Supergirl.

Also, why do you think I put Martian Manhunter? If anything, Yi Fang might be Superman.
>>
>>25597352
>in all seriousness
If you are actually being serious, you seriously make too many serious assumptions.
>>
I came into the thread late and missed the archives and links to the ability trees, can someone help a curious anon out?
>>
>>25597309
>implying Shadow isn't The Spectre
Fuck the Justice League, we're Justice Society now.
>>
Shadow is batman. Anyone who says otherwise chews knobs.
>>
>>25597309
>Auriel

>Zauriel is a fictional character in the DC Universe. Originally a guardian angel who served Heaven for millions of years, he willingly fell to Earth and becomes a superhero, having been a member of DC's all-star Justice League.

FUCK, THIS SHIT IS TOO EASY.

Flint's gonna be sad that she'll need to grow a dick to complete the transformation, but it's a necessary sacrifice, man! Take one for the team!
>>
>>25597387
>I came into the thread late and missed the archives and links to the ability trees, can someone help a curious anon out?

Just search for shadow quest in sup/tg/.
>>

>>25596216
>>
>>25597399
I feel like SM did that on purpose.
>>
I'm really, REALLY curious about that area of WHITE tree in between the Servant tree and Titanic.

Look at the edges. WHITE. It might be the fuckin' light tree. Holy shit.
>>
>>25597399

Yi Fang could be Doctor Fate or Zatanna.
>>
>>25597414
Mother of god...

We need to go through the other magic trees and search for the magic powers.
>>
>>25597414
Nah.
It's probably negative space.
>>
>>25597428
>Negative space
>On the Shadow Quest skill tree
Laughingwhores.jpg
>>
>>25597414
look in between pool of darkness and shadow eater.
>>
>>25597456
>implying I did not mean engative space literally
>it is a skill which inverts space
>>
>>25597459
Not the same level of whiteness.
>>
>>25597420
>The Demon is a fictional character, a superhero and antihero appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Created by Jack Kirby, the titular character, named Etrigan, is a demon from Hell who, despite his violent tendencies, usually finds himself allied to the forces of good, mainly because of the alliance between the heroic characters of the DC Universe and Jason Blood, a human to whom Etrigan is bound.
>He has a very high command of magic.
GOING WITH IT. Sorry, Abby. You have to pull double-duty as your own hero and the Shadow Quest version of Jason Blood keeping Yi Fang stuck working with the good guys.

Doesn't fit totally, but I don't care.
>>
Looking at this Summoning is pretty damn large. Its almost as big as our own elemental magic. I wonder why.
>>
>>25597521
If we make Shadow The Spectre than Abigail would also be the human that he is bound to too.

The Spectre's whole schtick is that he's an incarnation of God's Wrath and that he needs an anchor of humanity or he'll just indiscriminately murder anyone for the slightest misbehavior.
>>
>>25597568
Because it spans three different element types and the crossovers between them, and relevant other skills like Magic Power. Probably also has some unrelated things that boost other skills on the other side of the tree, like how Tao is in the shadow magic tree.
>>
>>25597586
I'll allow it!

/co/ pls halp. I'm out of my depth.
>>
In spirit, poison movement, defense, and stealth trees it is 116 xp to unlock every single ability that has been revealed.

This is NOT counting anything that these abilities will unlock.

Once we buy them and unlock the dark grey area, we will have to spend 70 more to unlock only those within it that have been revealed.

To unlock the deep purple special completion ability for the dark grey area will cost over 200 xp assuming everything we have not yet unlocked is only one or two xp cost. More realistic estimates put us at nearly double that.

I don't know what the special completion unlock will be for dark grey, but it will have to be crazy to justify that cost.
>>
>>25597586
>an aspect of a God
>outside of obscenely powerful magic or Divine Intervention, the only thing you can really do about The Spectre is take advantage of his poor judgement when separated from his humanity to trick him into killing your enemies for you
Fit's pretty well.
>>
>>25597782
>>25597633
Of course, there is a (reformed-ish) villain called The Shade in DC universe and he is one classy motherfucker but he's a little too...neutral for our Shadow even if his powerset is more aligned with Shadows.
>>
>>25597764
>Spend 20 xp to win fight forever
>>
>>25597865
Then there is the classic hero, The Shadow. Not much in terms of powers compared to our protagonist, but his ability to hide from all human sight, is seemingly omnipresent voice. and the way he intimidates and terrifies his enemies with it before dispatching them in the name of Justice align pretty well with him.

Honestly, there's a lot to choose from for him.
>>
A thought. We ate that Spirit Elemental way long time ago. I wonder if we got a shard of spirit from that and we just didn't notice at the time.
>>
>>25598443
Unlike Erebus the Spirit didn't split into shards. She sealed herself under Jacob's Field.
>>
If we get Wind Resistance I bet the tree unlock will be immunity to the Sky Sever.
>>
>>25599844
That is some wacky logic there, my friend. It's the defense tree, not the wind resistance tree. Also getting around a heavily plot related problem by unlocking a skill from the basically the smallest skill tree in the game is cheap.
