You're a Magical Girl, and quite frankly, a hair's breadth from pulling out your gun and start shooting people. In their fat, stupid, perfectly-made up faces. Idol faces.

Fuck idols. Fuuuuck all of them.

Especially this Kirishima Ruri in particular.
>>
>>25618919

Ever since you got back home and started being Warmaster, you've been having very bad days back-to-back.

There was that thing with Kharn's hat. Then, that thing with Iori, which you probably could have handled better but you tried your best with.

You're not even going to think about the box you got. Fucking boxes, you hate them now, and you'd always thought about getting gifts as something positive.

Now...well, Kirishima Ruri or whoever the fuck this idol thinks she is, it looks like she's doing her best to drive you up the goddamn wall, here. That, or get you to Witch out early, you don't know what.

For...for fuck's sake, she's having sex with Iori in her suite. IN THE PENTHOUSE SUITE, where the 765 Productions idol almost got raped in months ago.

Either the world has caught up with you and had decided to start fucking with you once again, or it's simply a portent to tell you that it's all downhill from here.

You have the sneaking suspicion that it's the latter.

Because nothing else would apparently get the world's cock hard enough other than seeing you suffer for something you've done that you have absolutely no memory of.

[1/2]
>>
>>25618922

"Miss...Miss Murderface?" The sweaty, shivering little lump of idol gopher that got shat on with the codename 'Deepthroat' quakes beside you, her voice shakier than your chances of keeping yourself together. "Is....is everything okay? You're...you're kind of growling, and...your...your eyes are..."

...Fuck this. You've had enough. Right now, you've had enough, and you're not in the mood to tolerate any more crap. The ticket thing? Fine, that was amusing, hilarious, funny ha-ha. This? No, this shit will not fly with you.

You're Warmaster now, and you didn't allow a psychotic monster with blades for hands and swords for feet to fuck with your Soul Gem to get jerked around like this.

Kicking the door open is a terrible way to clear a room, leaves you fully exposed to return fire from anyone waiting in the room.

If the door is unlocked or we have some sort of key stand to the side of the door, open it, and slice the pie as we enter.

If the door is locked knock, stand off to the side in as hidden a position as possible prepared to assault whoever opens it, just in case.

If we break the door we'll have to move locations for the principal and that's annoying, or fix the door, which is even more annoying.

Thinking about it.

Spaghetti-chan hasn't reacted to Iori orgasm noises. Meaning that.

1. The noises are fake.
2. She didn't hear them.
3. Ruri does his a lot.

I wonder if she should go full shadowruns and assume that Spaghetti-chan has orders to knock us out and tie us up when we enter the room. So we all have an NTR party!
>>

No. We need to figure out who she's really working for first (yes, I'm assuming things, whatever). After that...
>>

This is more or less why I suggested we have Spaghetti-chan open the door. Besides, I'm sure Ruri is just schlicking to a video. Possibly one she had commissioned awhile ago.
>>
>>25619100
It's not the most effective NTR really. I mean, we're cut all romantic ties with her already, so it's not even NTR at all. I know I don't really mind beyond the fact that it seems somewhat OOC for Iori, which makes me suspicious that either one of us is being fucked with.
>>
>>25618948
I think we are well beyond taking a deep breath and calming down.

We`ve had some mean fucking days behind us, with dealing with the box, dealing with Pinky, dealing with Sayaka which is especially aggravating and now we have to deal with another Idol who deliberatly tries to piss us off at every step.

And this is why, taking a deep breath and calimg down is not even a fucking option.

[x] Kick down door
[x] Murderface-Glare
[x] "I’m mean nasty and tired. I eat constintino wire and piss napalm, and I can put a round through a flea's ass at 200 meters.

Time for a classic.
>>
>>25619118
> OOC for Iori, which makes me suspicious that either one of us is being fucked with.

The only way it would make sense to be IC for Iori would be if she was being really petty about it and used the knowledge that we would be protecting Ruri to attempt to get back at Chiaki for breaking things up, and thats a real stretch, Iori does not seem like the kind to do that to me
>>
I say we bust down the door. Why? Because even if it was just a ruse, we fucking show her we do NOT play along nice. Fuck her. Fuck her and everything she stands for.

What do these two have to do with each other? Murderface didn`t have a problem with self-control, mind you, she wasn`t a psychopath, she was just numb all over or at least pretended to be numb to the shit that happaned all around her.

Oh boy, Time for Shadowruns!
From the last thread:
>...What's the 'box' she's talking about, though? Is it really that bad...?
>"The...the box is..." Deepthroat swallows audibly at this, before shaking her head. Holding both hands over her ears. "N-no, don't make me say it out loud. It's horrible. A-and I'm not supposed to talk about it, a-anyway..."

What's in the box? What's in the box?
Deepthroat's head.
Ruri's the prophet and she sent the box with Fake Mami's head in it. She hypnotized one of her fans with a golden weapon and took her head without any struggle. Ruri's songs are laced with golden-weapon magic hypnotism, so everyone who's listened to her first album has already been hypnotized, and they're just waiting for a trigger phrase before they do whatever they were hypnotized to do. Said trigger phrase will be in whatever song she's singing the concert. By protecting Ruri, we are letting her enslave everyone who's listening, including magical girls.

How many shadowruns do we have regarding the concert now?
>>
>>25619267

But you basically will be admitting that: "Yes, they got to you, got under your skin and made you fucking mad."

We're a Warmaster. We're suppose to be operating on a different level now. They can play their games. We will be mad but we will not show it. It will wash over Chiaki.

And then when it comes to pay the piper, the Warmaster of the 10th will pay back this insult. With interest.

Just as you raise a heeled foot to drive it right through the heavy teak door - it's then that you force yourself to slowly lower it, and then back away with just as much deliberation. Willing yourself to pace around in circles, both your hands moving to pull out a fresh pack of cigarettes from your inventory. A metallic snap, a hiss, and two cigarettes are now rapidly being burned down to their filters, your lungs filling with calming smoke.

...No. No. No, you're not kicking the door down. Focus. Kharn may have fucked around with your Soul Gem to make you immune to whatever it is the Golden Weapons do to its users, but Midori didn't pull you out of your own barrier just for you to go full Murderface on a client. You promised yourself that you wouldn't, unless they gave you exact reason to.

"Um...Miss Murderface?" Deepthroat tries to get your attention.

Not even when they're obviously trying to get a rise from you, doing everything they can to remind you of what you've done in the past. No, no, you're better than that. Better than that. Mami pushed for you to become Warmaster because she knew you'd grow into the role, and not become another Kharn.

You let the still-smoking stubs of cigarette filter fall down from your lips, and you start sucking on two freshly-lit ones even before they've hit the expensively-tiled floor.

>"Well, there was that one time where a dead body was found that looked exactly like her, right when she was holding a concert. Found only a few miles from the concert grounds. They say it was some sort of cosplayer that got killed on the way to the concert, but the conspiracy theorists think an alien killed Ruri and took her place. That was forgotten about quickly, because she was right there, and a family quickly identified the corpse as a missing daughter

Sayaka mentioned that this happened two years ago, just when Ruri was starting a solo and she was supposed to be under the protection of the eighth offico at the time.

So either:

1. This is a read herring
2. Ruri got replaced under the eighth offico's noses
3. The eighth officio was actually involved in Ruri's replacement.

We got lots and lots of stuff to be paranoid about.

"Miss Murderface...?" She tries again, and it's here that you finally trust yourself enough to interact with someone without drawing a killshot bead on their skulls.

"The...the door's here, Miss Murderface," Deepthroat murmurs, a rather desperate smile curling her lips. "You...you were walking around in circles, and I thought you were confused..."

...What? She thought you were...what?

Does this girl really work for Ruri?

"Of...of course." The girl looks back up at you with her sullen, droopy eyes, blinking in rather wary surprise. "Is...is there something on my face? Do I have a booger hanging out--"

N-no. No. Er. Can she just open the door for you? You'd do it yourself, but...

"O-oh. Sure. Just let me..." Deepthroat seems to smile at this, and walks over to the door, one hand coming up to grasp the doorknob. She tries, fails, tries again, and then manages to do it with both hands.

"U-ugh. Haha. Er. M-my hands are a bit sweaty, haha..." the girl giggles to herself in a slow, rather sad sort of way. "S-sorry...please don't touch the doorknob, I'll clean it..."

No, she doesn't need to do that. ...No, not with her own dress--

"I-it's okay..."

It's like looking at a mirror. Then again, mirrors have always been much more entertaining than television.

No, she said nobody that she had given a Golden Weapon to would send us Mami's actual head in a box.
And I've been certain that Ruri was behind the moment her name came up.
>>
>>25619461
We could follow up on the family just to be sure.
We could contact the 8th in an official capacity, and cite the discovery of a head as the reason. With Ruri in town, we want to see if there's any similarities with the corpse from 2 years back, just to be sure.
Of course, that depends on if the 8th is on speaking terms with us after the last Incubator meeting.

It's here that you step through, finally. Bracing yourself for whatever it is they've been doing.

. . .

Well. It's...no, it's not what you expected.

The suite, as you remember it, seems to be have been completely redesigned from the bottom up - it's no longer the suite you defended Iori from a group of well-equipped otaku looking to get their jollies balls-deep in an idol.

You don't even see the set of chairs you stole your favorite chair from. It's a bit more like an old-fashioned suite, with velvet cushions, a shag tiger rug complete with the stuffed head, and expensive mahogany furniture all over. The floor's carpeting has also been replaced with rather tasteful marble. Probably so that inquisitive guests wouldn't see the bloodstains, the sort that never do come off of floors no matter how much you scrub.

But that's not what you're focusing on at the moment. It's...well, the scene you came into, the scene you'd planned on bursting into by kicking the door down...

They're not even on the fucking bed. They're sitting on the couch. Iori and...what you assume to be Kirishima Ruri, a rather gothically-dressed idol with long blue-green hair tied into two very long twintails. Seriously, they're draped down the couch cushions and touching the floor. Either she's been growing her hair for a long time or someone is making some serious bank providing her hair extensions.

She's...well. She's pretty. In a rather cute, priceless, expensive sort of way. But pretty enough to set your alarms off.

Blue eyes shouldn't glow that much. Not without magic, at least.

"Aha~! Chiaki Matsuda-chan, I presume?" She's holding what looks like a...script in her hands, and Iori, in casual clothes and a complete burning crimson from the neck up, is also hiding behind a similar script. The...the title of the script, printed in bold letters on the cover, is damnably familiar.

'Miracle Midori x Murder Mayumi Deluxe Uncensored OVA Episode 1 of 20 / SEASON 1' familiar.

"You're just in time, we were practicing VA lines on my new project! Iori-chan was helping me out! Oh, and say hi to the folks watching our webcast!" She gestures behind you - and you see Sayaka, seemingly rather...downcast, for some reason, and holding up a video camera. A little red light shining from a spot near its lens.

...Wait. What webcast?

"Say hi, Murderface," Sayaka monotonically cheers, giving you a rather limp wave with her free hand. She looks as though she'd be anywhere else BUT here. Gone is the fan fervor. Gone is the energy that saw her elbowing two fans three times bigger than her in the face.

We can wright this off as them not fucking with us. Practicing lines. As much as we hate it, MM x MM is a thing and it is happening no matter what we do. Well, we could kill Midori.

Let's just entertain the idea for now while looking for the best couch to sit on, or leave the room for a moment and steal one from an adjacent room. It's in the best interest of the client, since it will make us happy, and that will keep her alive.

Shit, I just realized, we are in magical garb right now. We need to play the part of Murder Mayumi. Best way to not have our cover blown right now. What do we remember about the manga we read. We need a one liner.

But Chiaki always walks around like this. She literally just wears her magical girl outfit everywhere. If normal people on the street haven't commented, I'm not sure it's even that strange of a thing anymore.

[X] Look at the camera. Cunt-breaker hat-flourish + ponytail-hair-sweep-equivalent.

This is a fucking global webcast going out to potentially millions of people who DO read MMxMM. This has the potential to not only reveal our identity, but also CONFIRM THE EXISTENCE OF MAGICAL GIRLS TO THE WIDER PUBLIC.
We really, REALLY need to call QB about this.

You narrow your eyes at the idol, before turning back towards the camera, breathing smoke from your nose. You give the glinting lens a glare, before grumbling something approximating a greeting at it - and it's then that you step out of the shot, making a beeline right for the couch that Sayaka's sitting on.

"Ah~? Oh, well, it seems Chiaki-chan's a bit camera-shy, everyone, but don't worry! You'll be able to see much more of her and Sayaka-chan too in the next few days, and they'll be right there with me at the concert!" The green-haired idol flashes the camera a cheerful, dazzling grin as you firmly plant your ass on the expensive cushion. Yeah, fuck everything about this job.

"Kill me now, Murderface," You hear Sayaka murmur to you, low and slow. Her voice low enough not to be caught by the camera's microphone, as the both of you continue to watch the two idols practice what sounds like a very frantic and heated scene between Miracle Midori(Ruri) and Murder Mayumi(Iori). Deepthroat is bustling quietly about, giving the camera an awkward, droopy smile as she tries her best to keep out of its range as much as possible, while unpacking what looks like a rather inordinate amount of luggage.

You've sufficiently clamped down enough on your anger to be surprised at what's happened to the Eversor. What happened to her energy, earlier? Is she under mind control, or something? Do you need to put her out of her misery?

"What? No. It's just...uh..." Sayaka shakes her head. "I...you know that saying, where you're not supposed to meet your heroes?"

Yeah?

"I met her. And..." Sayaka's shoulders droop even lower. "Man. I just...I just don't wanna talk about it, Murderface. Not with you, sorry. But I wish I never got into the fucking car with you."

...Well. That's...this is the first time you've felt bad for Sayaka.

What about this webcast thing, though? Was this part of the contest?

She gives the camera a shake. "This thing is supposed to be on all the time, unless she's sleeping or in the bathroom or changing and so on. Hot springs and swimming are included, though."

...Who the fuck watches this sort of thing?

"Fans," Sayaka murmurs. "Real fans."

"N-nhh! M-Mayumi-san, that's...! If you do that, I'll go crazy...!" Ruri wails, one hand even coming up to her cheek for effect, her breathing hard. Iori herself is trying not to look at Ruri, while attempting to deliver her lines with the same kind of enthusiasm.

"She's just...she's just not who I expected, Murderface." Sayaka murmurs hollowly. "I wanna go home."

Guys! Fuck! GUYS! IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW!

FUCK!

This is why Ruri wanted us as a Bodyguard. Its supposed to be a PR-Stunt.
MMxMM is hugely popular right now, Ruri got a job offer for VA work for it months ago, when Iori told her about us she figured that while we may not be Murder Mayumi (HUE!) we resemble her darn close when it comes to behaviour and character. While we will be around she has some free PR thanks to Chiaku being a MurderMayumi lookalike.

Jesus christ, Decu, you are a mastermind!

Soon as we get the camera turned off we should grab her by the collar, get right up in her face, and ask her what the FUCK she thinks she's doing.

I know this seems like a troll suggestion, so let me go through my reasoning:
If she IS an android, we'll be able to tell from how heavy she is.
If she IS a magical girl, she'll break free.
If she DOES have a golden weapon, [x] THE FLESH OF FALLEN ANGELS.
If none of these things is true, we intimidate an arrogant civilian who thinks she can just treat the Warmaster of an Officio Assassinorum like some sort of toy. We deal with reality-breaking monsters on a daily basis, a prissy idol bitch is literally nothing in comparison.

I'd expect that to be kind of expected, what with our contract to escort Ruri during one of her biggest concerts ever.
The 24-hour webcast I'll grant you, but since we're supposed to be escorting an idol during a very public concert, and not just keeping her safe in a hotel and then to the airport like with Iori, I'm fairly certain that QB expected a higher than normal profile on this contract.

I mean, really, we're going to be an escort for one of the biggest idols at her concert and you didn't expect us to be photographed by hundreds of rabid fans?
>>
>>25620462
I meant that the dead fangirl was literally just a fan girl, a real person as it were; and that she was mentioned only as bait to mislead us.
>>
>>25620474
Fitting more than two sentences into there would have been nice.
>>
>>25620460
It's not THAT bad imo. Iori seems to be fine if out of place (seriously, why is she here) so as long as we're behind the camera and new issues don't pop up, we're basically just bored in a tedious situation with Sayaka who's in a terrible mood.

Actually, I take it back, this is pretty much the worst.
>>
>>25620460
To be honest, we're the Warmaster now. We're expected to be able to adapt to changing situations and get the job done, without handholding or backup. The whole reason for the position is so that QB doesn't have to do everything himself and he can have a Magical Girl who can get things done without his help.
>>
>>25620494
"Why she's here" may be because Ruri wants to make her miserable and one of our initial thoughts was that some of this mission was in fact a gamble to do just that.
>>
>>25620460
Oil platform is catharsis for when we're done here.

We just have to keep a lid on it until we're done, then we get to go and blow everything up and kill a lot of people.
>>
>>25620474
Are you fucking serious? This is mission-critical information that was deliberately withheld from us, likely just to ANNOY us.
>>25620483
>>25620499
Yeah, we're the Warmaster, which means we've got more important shit to be doing that acting as eyecandy for some self-absorbed press queen.
If she actually needs protecting she's going the wrong way about making us give a fuck. And if she doesn't, she will soon.
>>
>>25620507
Well sure, but why would Iori's agency (presumably, can't see her volunteering to make orgasmic noises on camera) want her to be doing this? The concert makes sense as a publicity thing, this doesn't seem to match her image at all.
>>
>>25620489

We could have done our own research as well. It is a publicly hosted event. A schedule was probably posted all over the internet. We can still probably get our hands on a schedule.
>>
>>25620512
Did we send that recon team to scope out the oil rig yet? What about preparing separate ingress and egress routes?
As much fun it would be to destroy the rig, we're supposed to recover an item safely and deliver it to the client. We don't even know if the item is a thing or a person.
>>
>>25620523
Our job is still to do what the fuck we are told
Kyuubey told us we could take this job and in doing so we have agreed to follow the orders for this job

We don't get to play boss with this, we only get to boss around our subordinates in the officio and choose our missions

Surprise surprise we took a mission so now we have to play along
>>
>>25620531
I imagine we'd have know this was going to happen then, I doubt Mami would miss something like that unless it was released after we left..
>>
>>25620523
This is information that was publicly available that we didn't bother to check.
For fuck's sake, Sayaka knew about it because she's a fan, we could have just asked her Ruri's itinerary for the week and we'd have had it.

As for being the Warmaster, our Incubator decided that we ARE going to be acting as eye-candy for a self-absorbed press queen. So you're just whining about the situation at this point instead of going about it professionally.
>>
>>25620549

This seriously. We could be sour and brooding over this whole thing. Or we can have some fun with it. We basically have an excuse to act debauched and drink on the job.
>>
>>25620523

Then we shouldnt have taken the job in the first fucking place.

We had a choice to refuse, we didn't.
>>
>>25620523
We've got no real arguments for dropping this shit though. The initial ticket-thing we were fully in our right to ignore - and we did - but nothing that's happened since we arrived is in any way a break of contract or misinformation - there was never a chance Ruri would stay out of the limelight for several days on end after all, you can't exactly use the camera as an argument unless she tries to drag Chiaki in front of it and won't take no for an answer.
>>
>>25620557
>unless it was released after we left.
But Sayaka was already prepared for it, and so were hundreds of fans.
Obviously this information must have been available.
So it's probably because we didn't ask or pay attention.

The fan thing, yes, that we should have known.
That we were the fan and getting a 24h stream of us? Even Sayaka seemed thrown by that.
>>
The tl;dr thing:

Call QB. See if he knew about this shit.

If No, he doesn't know about this shit, get him to extort more money out/see if we should withdraw or whatever.

If Yes, just go skulk in the corner while smoking, keeping out the way of the webcam and being suffering with Sayaka and waiting for a chance to shoot people's legs off.

It's that simple. We don't need to worry more than that.
>>
>>25620539
We probably wouldn't be told 'item' if they meant 'person', unless said person was a corpse.
Shoot our way in, stuff it into inventory, shoot our way out.
>>25620549
>the orders for this job
Which were 'provide escort', if I recall correctly.
We will provide escort. We will NOT play along with her stupid little games that seem designed specifically to irritate us to the point of just murdering everything within a five mile radius.
>>25620561
We were told we were meeting her for lunch. This isn't lunch.
Hell, we technically haven't even started the job yet.
>>25620570
If the job had said anything about a mob or webcast I sure as fuck would have voted to refuse it.
>>25620574
>We've got no real arguments for dropping this shit though.
Yes we do. We're the Warmaster. If we decide we have better shit to be doing, we go and do it. Ruri wants to complain, fine. QB wants to complain, fine. Neither of them have the ability to actually MAKE us comply.
Hell, QB promoted us specifically so we could make calls like this.
>>
>>25620576
Honestly, this should not be something we'd need to explicitly ask for. We have people putting together dossiers for every mission every magical girl in the Officio takes, it's their job to catch stuff like this that could significantly alter the mission parameters and put it in the fucking dossier.

>>
>>25620608
You are so full retard it isn't funny
QB can and will make us do this, being warmaster means we are his second not his equal

If we start acting like a fuck up again we will very quickly find our time as warmaster and quite possibly our time in the land of the not quite dead coming to a very abrupt end

See we aren't the boss of shit, we are a contractor. We are hired to do a job which if we don't do, we die

Very simple thing which you seem to be catastrophically failing to understand

>>
>>25620642
Kyuubey is not going to kill us off for walking off a job.
He would not kill us off even if we just murdered every person in the hotel.
Kirika fucked up multiple missions to exactly that degree before getting a retirement order. And I think we're a tad more valuable to QB than she was, considering our connection to Pinky and the Golden Weapons.
>>

>Which were 'provide escort', if I recall correctly.
It was
>specifically asking to 'have a good time' with the Warmaster of the Ninth

>If the job had said anything about a mob or webcast I sure as fuck would have voted to refuse it.
We were going to be with Ruri for 4 days and during a major concert. Of course there would have been mobs! Not thinking that there would be mobs or any webstreams at all is to completely be ignorant of what being at a concert entails.

And QB can MAKE us comply. We are his second-in-command, NOT his equal. We work for him, and under him, not beside him.
>>
>>25620672

Probably more than what QB is paying his warmaster.
>>
>>25620672
Sounds good to me. And after that, send Midori a picture of dickbutt on her phone to show our displeasure about the MMxMM situation.
>>
New rule:
When we get jobs from QB, we get from him:

1: What the client said they wanted
2: How much they're paying for this bullshit.

Then we hand that to Midori and get her to summarize.

It'd save us a lot of asking "what the fuck is she actually paying for".
>>
>>25620680
He isn't going to murder us outright but if we start acting like this every time something goes wrong we are going to very quickly run out of favor with him and when we do he is going to cut his losses as he thought he should do the moment he saw us

You reach over, and...drape your arm over her shoulders, giving her a quick squeeze. On any other day, in any other situation, you'd have shoved your arm into a woodchipper instead - it'd have the same exact result, and would probably be a lot less painful. But right now...well, you're just not used to Sayaka being this way. You're supposed to be the sad sack of the team, not her. It's wrong, unnatural, and all your fault.

And you're so, so sorry.

"Christ, don't apologize. You're going to make me cry." Sayaka mutters, with the tones of a child that's just been told that Santa Claus isn't just nonexistent, he's also dead. "Well, if anything, at least I know what I'm doing when the mission's over."

What's that?

"Taking my entire collection of Ruri memorabilia and burning it." The Eversor lets out a sigh that sounded more like a week-old balloon pitifully deflating. "Just...everything."

Now, come on. You're not well-versed in this sort of thing, but isn't that a bit excessive?

"No." Sayaka shakes her head, mournfully. "It really isn't--"

There's a knock on the door, stopping the action inside the suite cold. Both you and Sayaka turn towards it, you with a hand straying inside your jacket, the Eversor immediately aiming the camera. Deepthroat, very loudly, drops a heavy-looking piece of luggage on her foot as Ruri calls her to open the door - and the short, sweaty assistant limps the entire way, squeaking in pain with every other step.

And you want to fuck with them.

We get paid in grief seeds and guns, both of which we are perfectly capable of acquiring on our own, with a bit of effort.
>>25620697
>if we start acting like this every time something goes wrong
This isn't 'something going wrong'. This is 'the client is actively sabotaging the mission'. Small difference.
>>
>all this talk about how much we are getting payed

I was under the impression the Murderface doesn't really give a shit about money. Especially because she has more than she will ever need already from previous jobs.

What she cares about is the universe not shitting on her.
>>
>>25620708

...It's room service. Apparently, this is the breakfast part of the four-day date. Two hotel attendants dutifully set up what looks to be quite a spread on the suite's dining table - and you narrow your eyes as they lay out four plates, for four people. One of the plates is already stacked with an foot-high stack of pancakes. The other plates are, predictably enough, filled with western breakfast food. Bacon, sausages, eggs, toast.

...Just how much does she know?

"Ah, breakfast's up! Everyone, please gather around! Ah, Noriko-chan, please get the camera from Sayaka-chan so she can eat."

"..R-right away, Miss Ruri..." Deepthroat's tremulous reply is faint as she hobbles towards Sayaka, sleeve-covered hands held out to receive the gadget. Sayaka gives her a small frown, before placing the camera in her hands, which is almost immediately dropped had it not been for the Eversor's quick reflexes.

"Hold onto it a bit more tightly, jeez," Sayaka mutters, and the extent in which you've damaged Sayaka just hit you right there. She didn't even bitch at Deepthroat (now Noriko). It was...yeah. Your partner in this case is severely compromised. You'll have to take her drinking after this.

All four of you manage to sit around the table, in your respective places, with you facing the stack of pancakes. ...Well, of course it's for you. Otherwise the butter on the uppermost pancake wouldn't be styled into a desert eagle lying on its side, gently melting.

This idol. This fucking idol.

"Ah, so, Sayaka-chan! How are you feeling right now?" Ruri is all smiles, all excitement, annoyingly chipper. "Hee, I know you want to know more about the anime Iori-chan and I were practicing lines for earlier, but sorry, that's still a secret! Right?" She winks at the camera, and you could swear stars and glitter exploded in the air as she did so.

>>
>>25620719

Iori, sitting beside you, is firmly keeping her gaze down on her food. Just poking at it with her fork, pushing stuff around on her plate. Apparently just as uncomfortable with things as you are.

"Ah, and everyone, please meet Chiaki-chan! She's the best Murder Mayumi cosplayer there is, bar none! She'll be performing up on stage with me in the concert, along with Sayaka-chan here!" Ruri finally turns from the camera to address you, while Deepthroat moves around for a better angle.

"Ah, can you tell the fans a bit on how you've worked on looking like a very S, very violent, and maximum ero-ero magical girl?" Ruri smiles at you, widely and innocently, and you hear Iori gently choke on her orange juice.

How do you respond?

Technically true, we could. We could let Sayaka suffer here on our behalf.

Ruri either is a golden weapons holder, or managed to get the almost-rape video of Iori (which is where she saw the golden deagle of course).

We can get out of here quite easily by just faking a phone call and saying "Ah, a family emergency came up", then just stake out the place OUTSIDE the room

We need to blow off some steam,
I'd argue for shooting the camera itself, but, equipment and all.

Shouldn't dignify that question with a spoken response.

We really need to call coobs, it's one thing to stick to the mission, but this can really blow our cover in future missions.

It'd be funny though if Chiaki had a secret cult following for her "cosplay" and we never noticed though

A thought:

People watching the livestream are expecting Chiaki to act like Murder Mayumi and to generally not steal the show from Ruri. Nor does Ruri expect anything but this show to go the way she dictated so she can milk all the publicity this is worth and also establish her power over those participating.

Instead of going along with the role, what would happen if Chiaki instead acted vastly out of character and started stealing the show away from Ruri? Like instead of acting all growly and stoic, Chiaki started channeling Moemura Mode x 1000 (or going full Brian Blessed)? While Ruri's fans are all obsessed with her, there's something to be said with exploiting the demographic which may certainly be into ~moe stuff, or just upstaging the entire thing.

Decu, did you only gave summaries of each of the three assignment letters that QB gave us back in his office, or were the letters really that terse?

As in, did the Escort Mission actually say that we are to "escort" Ruri, show her a good time and be her arm-candy as well as her bodyguard for the 4 days? What exactly were the parameters of the mission?
>>
>>25620950
I don't think Chiaki's even capable of that. Trying to act "out of character" is pretty damn difficult - she can barely open up in front of her friends, trying to do so in front of everyone would just make her want to start shooting until there's nothing else to shoot.
>>

Okay so due to various events that have occurred in my life (specifically 'being lied to by an authority figure' and 'appearing on camera despite being told I would not' and no the two are not related but the effect is compounded and yes those are just summaries of what actually occurred) I won't be able to follow this quest until either a. the cameras are gone or b. It seems to me that there are a considerable amount of people (or a smaller number of very argumentative people) whose approach seems to be "I am the Warmaster, and you will OBEY ME. This is all beneath me! ALL OF YOU SHALL! SHOW!! THE PROPER RESPECT!!".

I partially agree, but sometimes I think that course of action would show that Chiaki has let the position get to her head. I'd be more in favor of beating Ruri at her own game, or subtly sabotaging the camera or somesuch. Ruri is probably the Queen Bitch of all the idols, who probably deal with the vicious politicking and rumormongering and mudslinging that celebrities deal with on a daily basis. Even moreso in what appears to be a cut-throat industry. She isn't going to be cowed or truly intimidated by any displays that Chiaki shows. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised at all if she's planned for this sort of outburst of anger/RESPECT MUH AUTHORITAH that these participants are advocating.

We're going to either have to beat her at her own game, or find some way to go around it.

Really should be on our to-do list. Check whether all this 24-hour camera and going on stage shit is actually getting pulled out of nowhere, or if we were just retards and didn't read the mission file thoroughly enough.
>>
>>25621069
The problem with plan Moemura is that even though she used to be us, and she might still be in there somewhere, it might not be feasible to actually tap into that. Hell, even normal anime Homura was so fundamentally broken I'm not sure she could have acted much like her former self, and we're two or three levels past that now.

Well you agreed to that.

Too bad. You got more than you bargained for. So suck it up and go along with it. Be professional, finish the damn mission without incident.

Like I said, pretty vague. We can sit in the corner and brood, act as a proper body guard, fuck shit up, get drunk, have sex with everyone in the room, act like an idol ourselves, or any combination of the above and many other options and still be within the bounds of our contract. People seem to be under the impression that we have strict limitations here, when we simply do not.

Thanks again Deculture, great quest.

Might I be right in thinking that if we had taken the ticket we'd of been filming Rumi esentially miming fucking Lori... as us?

By which I mean, who's was playing what role in the anime? It shounded like Rumi was playing us and Lori was Green.

Also, just encase it isn't obvious to everyone: there's a 100% chance that Rumi is just fucking with us because she hates us or some shit.
>>
>>25621099
>The information YOU, the DM, gave US, the players, was incomplete? Why would you do that? Why would you think that to be a good idea?
Because even the best of players will be influenced by out-of-character information, and if you want players to play in-character it's most effective to give them only what is known in-character?

Do you get mad at the DM for not telling you what you didn't see when you fail a spot check? It's the same basic idea -- Decu told us what Chiaki took away from the files, not the full actual contents. It's a perfectly reasonable method ensuring more immersive in-character play.

Chiaki might not be a complete utter genius, but she's still someone who shadowruns for a living. Hell, even when a "normal" magical girl she set up a deathtrap that could have killed a large tank division and planned out everything meticulously. Being able to read a damn mission briefing correctly shouldn't be *that* hard.

Even if Chiaki fucked up reading it, though, that doesn't mean we'll be remotely detonated because a client cries that we didn't fingerfuck her on-camera. As long as Ruri survives to pay up, QB's not going to give a shit. And if Ruri doesn't survive that's either going to be because she's the enemy or we had bigger problems, so we don't give a fuck then either.

According to my messy count as of 20 minutes past the last content post:

1 FOFA

5 "It's natural."

1 Growl.

1 Tongue thing.

1 "I had a good teacher."

3 Don't say a word. Just eat.

3 "I get into the mind of character that Green-Green created. It's not always easy, because sometimes it feels like there's four of us, but at least three can agree on the pancakes. The voice required a lot of practice."

4 Try to hate them into a fine mist.

2 "Classified information."

1 Get different, non-poisoned food.

3 "Get that camera off of me before I shoot it."

1 "It was a struggle at first, but soon everything just feel into place. It feels like Murder Mayumi was made for me"

1 Shoot the chair leg out from under the table.

1 Move discussion toward discussing the mission while Sayaka and Iori entertain the viewers.

2 Murder Mayumi Experience. (Most of the above, probably.)

6 "Miss Ruri, you seem to have things mistaken. You have hired me for bodyguard services. I am not, going to and never will, perform on any stage with you. I'm playing along with this cosplay shit, but that is the very limit of my patience."

1 vote specifically for not doing the thing right above this

1 "Huh. And here I thought an idol would know how it is to have an overeager fan making porn of you. Consider me surprised."

1 "I didn't. I'm a personal friend of the author. She based the character on me. The magical girl parts... eh, that's just her."

1 Hair-flip.

>IT BEGINS
No, it ends. Thread over.

God damn it though, I can't believe I forgot about that.
>>
>>25621229
That is the funniest thing I have heard all thread
Murderface would only ask who she is allowed to kill and who she isn't for a given mission at best

And the not asking for more detail is entirely our fault
Now we are just reaping the rewards
>>
>>25621265
>And the not asking for more detail
Because we thought we HAD all the details.
>>
>>25621252
THIS, jesus christ.

Anyone who's saying that someone who does this shit for a living would NOT KNOW WHAT SHES SUPPOSED TO BE DOING ON A MISSION has serious fucking brain problems.
>>
>>25621276
Have you considered the possibility that most of the details were supposed to be handled by Ruri's security agency, and that we were mostly being hired as high-power personnel to be used (mostly) as they saw fit?
>>
>>25621256

Unfortunately that is not the case.

As per knowledge as told by the 10th Dickbutt, information on warmasters is posted publicly. Whether this is only restricted to warmasters + Incubators or includes a select circle of Top Clients is still unknown.

What we also know is that Iori had been talking to Ruri about us for quite some time. It is possible that she might have had knowledge about Chiaki as being the next warmaster and thus specifically requested for her.

Of course this is but one interpretation of the circumstances.
>>
>>25621252
Actually she doesn't't shadowrun for a living
Murderface was like a wild animal more than a competent anything
This was shown many many times before the operation

The most information we ever went looking for in regards to a mission was Kirika and that was mainly "what are her strengths, what can we use to make killing her easier"
>>
>>25621229
Spoken like someone who's never overlooked/misread something before.

It is out-of-character information, because after having read the contract the only information available to Murderface is what she took away from it, not the actual words itself. If Decu gave us the full wording, then we as players might take away something different than Murderface would in-character, which would influence our decisions.
>>
>>25621257
hey, it's technically a plurality even with just 15% of the total vote!
>>
>>25621257

The
>"Miss Ruri, you seem to have things mistaken. You have hired me for bodyguard services. I am not, going to and never will, perform on any stage with you. Now get that fucking camera out of my face before I break it."

option

Doesn't have the [x]
>>
>>25621280

Considering that most of her mission were with Kharn, theres likely only one thing required on her missions.

Loads of killing.
>>
>>25621285

This is pretty much how I saw it. It's just that one guy who seems to be pissed that "WE DIDN'T HAVE ALL THE INFORMATION!"

Read between the lines man, and chill out.
>>
>>25621257
See, if Decu QMs anything like I do, he'll condense these down into a few general common categories and pick the details within that category based on a synthesis of the suggestions/whatever strikes his fancy.

In which case, the overwhelming weight of votes is for something to the effect of a brusque dismissal of the question.
>>
>>25621313
I can't quite remember, why did Kharn step down from being Warmaster again?
>>
>>25621308

I think Decu relaxes that requirement for writeins. Half of the previous writeins would have failed, then.
>>

>>
>>25621326

We were never told.

Likely its due to the death of Malal and her squad and WalsdssdgdsIcannotspellthatdamnthing.
>>
>>25621285
Except that is the opposite of what happened. We're being used a toy for an idol's whims.
At the very best, there is no threat. Slightly less than best, Ruri herself is the threat. At worst, every single person in that stadium is going to be a threat, including Sayaka, Iori, and Spaghetti-chan.
>>25621326
Because she went full Witch and murdered all the extremely valuable Culexus.
>>
>>25621257
Quite a number of those don't even link back to the content post or have an [x].
It's not that hard to do, and it makes actual votes easier to count than discussion posts or go hunting for a post that's linked as a second.
>>
What I'm worried about is the disturbing amount of details that Ruri knows about Chiaki.

MMxMM is reasonable.

Hotel setup is suspicious, but still reasonable.

Knowing about pancakes could be coincidence or simply seeing Matsuda at a western-style breakfast restaurant, but still registers as pretty suspicious.

Knowing about shooting legs off is very suspicious.

Knowing about the Deagle gives off at least 2 Shadowruns.

Though she is *just* an idol, she is also rich and influential and LOVES to throw her weight around. I have a suspicious feeling that she may be the one behind hiring/funding those Otaku who videotaped and orchestrated Yayoi's internet debut, as well as those who attempted the same thing on Iori.

All it would take is one of them hanging back to observe (or another camera installed somewhere) to know about Leg-shooting and Golden Deagle.
>>
>>25621341

I don't think she murdered them, I get the feeling that the entire squad was expended to bring her back when she witched out.
>>
>>25621322
Yeah he's probably less OCD about it than I am, but a lot of the time it's specific questions or phrases with specific expected results.

Also no seriously stow the autisms about the [x]s. People would get really pissed off if an overwhelming vote lost because of a lack of [x]s and we don't need another Thread 98 or whatever it was.
>>
>>25621288

Goddammit. Chiaki asked for files. We said "check the background". We grilled Iori for information.

Chiaki did the damn research.

Agreed that something is off, she knows too much.

The get her off balance route is thus the best solution. She'll be more likely to reveal stuff when shes not in complete control.
>>
>>25621175
Hello, Decu, gonna answer this or what?
>>
Since Iori is here, It's probably her recommendation that got Chiaki the contract, so all Ruri knows about Chiaki is from Iori.

The contract was set purposely vague to give us/them a little leeway for 'fun' stuff (Idol shenanigans).

Poor Sayaka, Chiaki should note to tell her to sell the stuff instead of destroying it like that Aya Hirano fan did. Get a pure breed dog from the money. (Dog debate go!).
>>
>>25621416
Call Kyubey, have him repeat the contract verbatim.
>>
>>25621374

Possible. But given her propensity for antagonizing other idols and perhaps narcissistic personality (this is kind of stretching the extrapolation from her actions here), it could be more likely that she's using this to crush Iori while getting her kicks over manipulating Chiaki. She wants to feel like she's in control here, and has spared no expense in getting information about Chiaki and Iori's relationship.

While eldritch horrors and rogue meguca powered by eldritch gilded weaponry are certainly dangerous... there's also something to be said from a clever/driven/cunning individual who has ridiculous amounts of money, PR, and connections.
>>
>>25621392
...which is fine and good until half the thread's votes are ignored over it and we get another shitstorm. I've been counting votes in threads since that happened and I'm positive it would have made a difference before, by fucking over a solid majority of voters. And then they would shit themselves.

Because that's what people on /tg/ do. Shit themselves. So we have people who shit because votes don't have [x] and people who forget the [x] that will shit just as violently when their vote isn't counted.

Stop being a person that will shit. This isn't a dog training school and people will not just be trained into going 'oops i fucked up guess i learned my lesson' when their votes suddenly don't count, although it's pretty lame of people not to do the basic thing that makes votes easier to count. Just [x]. remind other people to [x], and move on.

Whew. Got that out of my system. Neat.
>>
>>25621432
I don't like it but it might be necessary for Chiaki to blow Ruri off.
>>
>>25621433
That doesnt mean shes not out for revenge.

>>
>>25621445
>Just [x]. remind other people to [x], and move on.
Except that you seem to get riled up whenever we DO remind people that they need to put an [x] on their posts for their vote to count. You're doing the exact same thing that you say you're against.
>>
>>25621391
Not to mention, it'd take an unreal amount of skill to be able to sculpt butter with the proper amount of detail to make it distinguishable as a specific type of handgun. To say nothing of the fact that said detail would start melting away as soon as you put it on top of a stack of hot pancakes.

Decu's messing with us by stating in-character interpretations as fact again. Our shadowruns are bleeding into Chiaki's perceptions.
>>
>>25621457

Eh, it's probably a little of both. Revenge plus fascination over something new that she must absolutely must have. Probably with some other ulterior motives that aren't readily apparent right now.

You're basically arguing to allow for a hanging chaff situation.

>>
>>25621611

>>
>>25621606
I think the point with the [x] is that it's not like the vote is invalid without it, but you're not allowed to complain if your no-[x] vote gets overlooked as a simple mistake. It's not so much "votes without an [x] only count when Decu feels like it", but rather "votes without an [x] count so long as Decu notices them, and if he doesn't see them then too bad, should've marked them with an [x]".

Seeing as that's the whole point of the [x] in the first place -- to make votes easier to sift out from the general chatter.
>>
>>25621606
Here's how I see it: If it's a vote for something it's counted as a vote. I use context to determine whether something is a vote, and almost all of them either link back to the original post or link to another vote which is easy to read. It's not actually very hard to do. Takes at worst ten minutes, if everything's a write-in and people's opinions are scattered.

>>25621627
This anon has the right of it.
>>
>>25621620
>You're telling me that someone who has likely never heard champagne being corked has absolutely no chance of confusing it with, say, a low calibre pistol?
But this person has a rather large amount of experience with firearms, so no, they would not confuse the two.

There is a very large difference between a gunshot and a cork going off, not the volume, but the length of the sound, the intensity and 'impact' if you will.

If it was someone who had never experienced either? it would be understandable, but not really for chiaki
>>
>>25621627
>"votes without an [x] count so long as Decu notices them, and if he doesn't see them then too bad, should've marked them with an [x]"
Okay, that's one way to see it. But it's kind of different from the actual thing Decu posted:
>[Voting ends in 20 minutes. Only [x] marked votes will be counted.]
>>
>>25621645
Mmm, that is kind of a miscommunication. But knowing Decu, he doesn't want any more huge shitstorms to erupt because of how he counted votes, so he probably tries to accommodate everyone anyway. He's a marshmallow like that.

If you're still reading this Decu I mean that in the nicest way.
>>
>>25621637
You can use whatever system you want in your own quest, but since we're in Decu's, it makes more sense to work within his.

If you want him to change it, fine, talk with him to change it. That's your right.

But he very clearly and explicitly posted how he wanted it done, so why are you saying that he should do it differently from the way he said he would do it, without an update on how he does it?
>>
>>25621642

And also once again, it got Kumatoradora too.

So, from all of this, should we now operate under the assumption that Chiaki is an unreliable narrator? And if all of Ruri's actions thus far fall within the parameters of the contract when we tell QB, and he tells us to continue without making waves, would that be enough to make Chiaki begin reading orders more carefully and thinking more deeply about her decisions?
>>
>>25621692
The results agree with the way I've been doing it so far, so there's that. Hopefully we don't reach a point where the hammer needs to be dropped on the subject.

But this is still the day before the 4-day concert begins, so maybe Iori's security detail hasn't arrived yet?

Either way, yes, contacting QB should be done.

I'm more inclined to believe that the contract was worded in a broad enough manner that everything Ruri has done thus far falls within its parameters.
We can confirm it with QB when we call him to ask about Iori's security detail.
>>
