Well, /tg/, how has your week been?
I hope you're ready.

>Last time on Digimon Quest, we met a talking rock named Gotsumon, learned about the Dead Zones plaguing the Digital World and the tyrants who took control of them, and spoke to four Gods about saving the world.
>It was after this, in the camp at the base of our first objective, that we began to talk with Sally- and she pointed us in Zoe's direction.

I motion for her to go first, and she nods, before closing her eyes and taking a deep breath to calm herself. When she opens them again, she looks me right in the eye, albeit shyly, and asks me:

"...Wayne, do you like Sally?" Again, I'm not sure just how to answer this.

"W-well, yeah. She's my friend. And my partner. I like her...why?" I stumble over my words a bit, but I don't do too badly, I suppose. Zoe just pouts and makes a "hmmmm" noise; she's not too pleased with my answer.

"What is she to you? Is she your digimon, your ally? Is she your friend? Is she...is she something more?" She looks away, her cheeks coloring slightly. "I...I want to know, Wayne."

[] Sally is different. She's...fascinating.

[] Sally is special...and so are you.

>I'd also like to remind you that you have two Luck 20's saved, and one action 20.
>The only way to use them is to eschew rolling for that post, and agree on using them before anyone starts their dice.
>A 20 in luck does not guarantee anything the same way an action 20 does not always end an encounter in other games.
>think carefully about your actions and answers, anon.

Sally was okay with us having a harem, right? Do we use one of the 20s for securing this?

"To be honest, I'm still figuring that out for myself. When I first met her, I thought she was a pet if you can believe it, though I learned better almost immediately. And then I thought she was a child, but it truly seems as if Digimon handle maturity in a more... efficient fashion. And now as it stands, she's another person who "friend" seems insufficient to describe.

Even though I've only known her for several days, I already can't really imagine her not being around, and I'm... not sure what to do about that. Especially since everything that happened has made me realize that it's not even the first time this happened to me."

I'd be down with using a 20, what's everyone else think?

Also, wasn't the plan to give her some sort of jealousy-boost to evolution?

Evolution Path for Sally.

Gale, how many points do we have?
>>
>>25717166
I think we do know how much Sally matters to us - saying we don't know strikes me as a bad thing, because Zoe might be able to tell that we're lying.
>>
>>25717222
If we use a 20 and get the harem, we'll probably get some interesting situations - I'm hoping for some drama. I say we do it.
>>
>>25717254
I was trying to do "I know she IS more than a friend, but I don't know what to do now with that information, especially since suddenly I see this happened to me before" but I see your point.

>>

>Drama

Dear god, can you imagine how much worse it's going to get when we learn just how deep Sally's "corruption" goes?

Still feel as if that's a bit too limited with only two Ultimate options.
>>
>>25717314
It's a good one - but Gale has said we need to think carefully about how we phrase this.
One wrong choice of words here, and our party might splinter.

...Hm, how about "I don't know - I mean, I know she's very important to me, but the information still needs time to settle down.", or something like that?

We need to acknowledge that Sally is very important to us - I think it's pretty clear that Zoe isn't going to have a chance to get us on her own, since Sally seems way more popular, so the best shot she'll get is sharing him.

But we need to phrase it right...
>>
>>25717330
That's what I want to see.
>>
>>25717334
...Are we using original (where Ultimate = highest level) or dub version here?
>>
>>25717330
You mean the whole 'I can become onf of the Great Demon Lords, representing Lust'?
>>
>>25717356
Dub version. ...I forgot what the name of the third stage is in Japan.

As far as final forms go, if anything we have a surplus.
>>
>>25717011
>[] Sally is special...and so are you.
use the action 20
>>
>>25717359
Well yes, though first becoming the angel of BDSM won't exactly help.
>>
>>25717369
Our evolution possibilities have, like, 5 different Ultimates, from what I can tell.
>>
>>25717381
You mean 'luck 20', right?
Because action 20 won't really help since this isn't a fight.

>>25717383
BDSM/Femdom Angel can always help
>>
>>25717334
>implying those are the ONLY options

Ladydevimon always struck me as a sadomasochist, not a sadist. I mean, look at the placement of the chains- those are some hardcore and kinky as hell piercings, and there's no way they're for a dom.
>>
Got to admit...
With some rephrasing, this >>25717166
might be a good option.

We just have to make sure that Zoe understands we care for Sally that way (because that'd be a lie - once you handfeed a girl apples, there's just no going back).

>>25717426
You say this as if dark magical girl route isn't the best route
>>
>>25717426
Even Wargreymon?
>>
>>25717398
It seems like Gale has indicated that Sally's personality will change less than we thought, despite her forms definitely carrying some very explicit connotations.

When we say they're both important to us, let's make it clear that we consider Sally really important.
I don't think we can afford to be vague, here.
>>
>>25717528
Gale, sorry if this has been asked before, but how many points do we have?
I'm curious if we can spend points to upgrade our abilities again.
>>
>>25717559
just wondering, do we use points to upgrade our abilities, or is that a different system?
>>
>>25717559
Considering we haven't seen any Perfect level digimon yet, I really hope we're pretty far away from that.
>>
>>25717528

Would Ofanimon technically be Sally's 'Dark Digivolution'? Based on the inversion to her current chain.....
>>
>>25717600
>>25717583
OK, here's how I understand it; there's two sets of points.
The first set, is what we can spend on digivolutions - we used it help Sally go from Salamon to Witchmon.
The second set, however, we can spend on her attack abilities.
>>
>>25717603
>do you REALLY want to know?

>>25717615
>This is correct, but the two are linked.

>currently, you have 860 points (After the last thread) and your skill data must be checked using the digivice.

I'm going to say..... No....

It must be a surprise! that way we can panic and self-doubt over it, just like any Digidestined should after they have made their Digimon Partner Dark Digivolve....
>>
>>25717656
Huh.

>860 points
Not bad, not bad at all!
Granted, LadyDevimon is likely to be quite a bit away, but still, every little bit helps.

>>
>>25717781
Meh, long as we don't insult Sally in any way, I suppose my own vote doesn't have to win.

Would've been fun to get some sort of boost in the middle of a fight, by keeping him ignorant, though.
>>
>>25717781
Yes to both, please
>>
>>25717798
Think of it this way, it's probably best that we get everything in the open now, before shit gets all kinds of real.
>>
>>25717795

Makes sense to go that way...

Wayne probably does not even see the relationship side of things, only that he needs the help of Zoe and Sally to try and understand things here...
>>
>>25717798
Maybe the lion is getting one or a dark digivolution; he's going to be so jelly.
>>
>>25717807
I kind of miss the whole "completely oblivious" mindset we were originally going with. It would have been fun to slowly infuriate Zoe with our constant misunderstandings.
>>
>>25717805
Eh, if things were getting real, that would've been a good time to introduce it, for a last-minute boost.

we can still do it. Just because she brought this out in the open doesn't mean we can't be completely clueless to romance

here's a fun fact. According to Wikimon, a Witchmon's Min Weight is 15g....

>>
>>25717969

>Now, are we sure about this option? I'm seeing people start to change their minds, so I just want to ask before I post.
>>
>>25717994
Eh, it says that Lillithmon is only 25 g, so I'm going to assume either that 'g' means something very different than grams, or the one who assigned the weights thought digimon were tiny.
>>
>>25718016
Both, use the 20. I don't think we've actually changed our minds; at least I am just discussing a bit while waiting for you.
>>
>>25717969

well, Salamon weighs 12g...

And multiple sources confirm that her weight is 15g....

Lady Devimon weighs 18/20g
And Lilithmon is 25g

One does have to remember that Digimon are made of Data... and Data is rather low density...
>>
>>25718016
"Now, Zoe, I may not be a clever man, but I almost get the impression that you might think of me as more than a simple friendly acquaintance."
>>
>>25718016

>>
>>25718044
Heh, this would be hilarious.
>>
>stored luck: 20
I sigh, and run a hand through my hair, trying to find the right words to answer her.

"To be honest, Zoe... I'm still figuring that out for myself. When I first met her, I thought she was a pet, if you can believe it, though I learned better almost immediately. And then I thought she was a child, but it truly seems as if Digimon handle maturity in a more... efficient fashion. And now as it stands, she's another person who 'friend' seems insufficient to describe..." Zoe, who had begun to look more and more downtrodden as I went on, seems to stiffen at "another." though she still doesn't say anything.

"Even though I've only known her for several days, I already can't really imagine her not being around, and I'm... not sure what to do about that. Especially since everything that happened has made me realize that it's not even the first time this happened to me." I lift one hand, but hesitate, both our gazes drawn to the limb, then put it back at my side.

"Zoe, Sally is special...but so are you. I don't really know what's going on with me, or you, or her; I'm not good with this kind of stuff...I just know that I care about both of you, as friends and... and something else." I can't believe how awkward that sounded. Zoe is looking down at the ground, her cheeks red, and for a second, I think that I've made her mad by not giving her a clear answer. I hear her mumble something under her breath, before she crosses the short gap between us, and wraps me in a hug. Her slight frame isn't enough to completely wrap around mine, so her arms lock around my neck instead, while she buries her face in my chest. I can hear her mumble something that vaguely sounds like "you're an idiot," but I don't push the matter. Instead, I just return the hug, absentmindedly noticing that even out here, Zoe still smells like she used to as a kid- a bit like vanilla and lavender, the shampoo she's always used, and that despite how small she is, her hugs really are comfortable.
>>
>>25718040

Maybe Wayne might misunderstand and think that Zoe asking us about Sally because she is interested in her.....
>>
>>25718043
So, basically, weight means nothing but don't make the mistake of asking how many Megabytes she takes up?
>>
>>25718016
I guess the key points are
A: We are really really bad at feelings
B: Despite only knowing her for a very short period of time and her effectively being an alien lifeform, we can tell that Sally is really special towards us
C: Realizing that, caused us an additional revelation, that someone who is also very special has been right in front of us all along
D: We have no idea what to do with these feelings and problems now.

Essentially, Wayne finally started experiencing the mental/emotional aspects of puberty at literally the worst possible moment.
>>
>>25718069

We sit like that for a couple minutes, until I pick up a set of small, light footsteps outside. There's another rap on the tent's fabric, and Sally pokes her head inside, grinning widely.

"Hey, Wayne, Zoe! You two make o-...up, yet?" With Zoe's shy nod, Sally's smile grows, and she claps happily. "That's great! But, I just was wondering..." She looks between us, then the tent. "How're we all gonna fit in there?"

[] We take shifts- I'll go first/Someone else go first

[] We'll find a way

[] I could find somewhere outside...
>>
>>25718043

You know, perosnally, I'd like us and Sally to keep watch for now - Zoe has just gone through something big, she could use the opportunity to talk to Aslan (who might be feeling jealous at how he's not gotten to talk to his partner for a good long while)

I stand up, Zoe only reluctantly letting the hug end, and rub the back of my neck, looking around the tent, before turning to the girls.

"We're not, actually. I'll be outside, keeping watch. Probably with Aslan. You girls get comfy and get some rest- we've had a long couple of days." Sally looks like she's about to argue, but instead just pouts and nods. I pick up the bag with my supplies, tussle Sally's hair a bit, and, looking to both her and Zoe, wish them a good night.

Outside, the air is cool, but not chill, and the campfire's begun to burn lower. Feeding it a few more tree branches, I sit beside the flame, looking through my supplies and trying to gauge just how much food we have.

It's interesting, but for some reason, hunger and exhaustion haven't been working like they did in the real world; it takes much longer for us to get tired from walking, and even now, I'm not as hungry as I should be. I idly wonder if it's the same for digimon.

One of said Digimon stalks silently into my line of vision, looking dirty and dejected. Aslan flops down in front of the fire, and I can hear his stomach growling even from this distance. Looking through my bag, I dig out a frozen and ziplocked bag of hotdogs. I stick a few on a stick, and let them hang over the fire. Slowly, the aroma of cooking beef wafts over to the small lion, and he lifts his head, licking his lips unconsciously. When he glances over at me warily, I move the stick over to him.
>>
>>25719182
"Want some?" I ask, simple and concise.

"Yeah." He answers in the same manner, taking half the sausages from the branch. We sit in silence for a while, just eating, before he sneds me a questioning glance. "Where's Zoe?" I jerk my head back to the tent, and he nods. "And...Sally?" I repeat the motion, and he just sighs and nods again, something I didn't expect. I raise an eyebrow at his behavior, and he sends me a short, but ultimately harmless glare.

"What?" He continues to munch on a hotdog. "She's stronger than I am. If there's anywhere Zoe ought to be, it's near your Witch." I can sense some slight relief in his voice, but also some bitterness, and can't help but sigh.

What should I say to him?

It's not like you're not a powerhouse too, you know. You both just have different kinds of strengths. Sally's a standup brawler, and you're a quick jab type of digimon. That's why I thought you'd prefer to stay watch with me. After all, your speed's kind of wasted stuck inside a tent, right?

Or something like that. I kinda suck at speech writing, but basically "You're just as powerful as she is, you just have different strengths and weaknesses"
>>
>>25719190
"Just because she's stronger now doesn't mean you shouldn't be the one protecting Zoe. You're her partner, after all. I know you'd give your soul to keep her safe, and I know you'll keep getting stronger because of that."

Zoe is NOT for lew-okay, I can't even finish that, she's completely "for lewds", as they say.
But I don't think he'll have a problem with us doing lewd things with Zoe.
Sally doing lewd things with Zoe, however...
>>
>>25719190

"Then why not use that as a reason to Get stronger? The greatest power comes from a desire to protect. Anyway, Those two should be sleeping now, so it's Our Job to protect them..."
>>
>>25719303
speaking of protecting, how 'bout a quick sparring match? I should probably learn how to dodge Digimon's attacks before we find a smart one that'll go after the humans first
>>
>>25719354
I agree with a bit of a sparring match, iirc the bukakemon (or what are those ghosts called again?) went for zoe directly.
>>
"Just because she's stronger now doesn't mean you shouldn't be the one protecting Zoe. You're her partner, after all. Use that as a reason to get stronger- the greatest power comes from a desire to protect." He looks at me with a surprised expression, probably not expecting me to be encouraging. "And it's not like you're not a powerhouse too, you know. You just have different strengths. Sally's pretty much a bulldozer, but she's not a precision fighter like you are- you're faster on your feet, and you've got that bite of yours. You took down a couple of those Bakemon by yourself, didn't you?" He nods, still looking unsure.

"I did, but they were the same level as me. And still, I lost to that Ogremon..." He hangs his head low again. "..And I put Zoe in danger in the process. I failed, as her partner, because I was too selfish, and only wanted to fight MY enemy, not Zoe's."

So that's what it was about, and why he was so eager to hunt the Gotsumon- he wanted to redeem himself, be useful. I almost smile at his earnestness, but suppress it; it wouldn't do to make him think I'm looking down on him. So, instead I say,

"You're right. That was reckless, and dangerous, and everything Zoe's already probably said-" But when he starts to look down again, I continue. "BUT: you regret it. You're trying to do better. You WANT to do better. And I think that makes you a pretty good partner." I turn back to the hotdogs I'm cooking, rotating the stick a little. "That's what I think."

He looks from the fire to me, then back again, obviously in thought. There's a relaxed, peaceful quiet, with nothing but the crackling of the fire and the sound of the wind around us.

The next morning came quickly- far too quickly, actually, and with a start, I realize I had dozed off some time in the night. Aslan, however, is where I remember him, and while he appears to be asleep, I can see that his eyes are open. I sit up slowly, rubbing my eyes, and take a look at the sky. It's still morning, but not too early- maybe around eight, if the Digital world's solar cycles even work like ours. Now that I think of it, I can't remember ever seeing a sun, either. Huh.

Then I notice that the reason I can't see any sort of sun is that the sky is filled with clouds- huge, billowing, almost solid-looking clouds of all types, radiating out from the mountain before us. Having never looked straight up at the mountain, we probably missed them coming in- that or they arrived while we were sleeping.

However, the mountain is our destination, and something is obviously going on up there. I make my way over to the tent, and knock on the flap to try and get the girls' attention. "Zoe? Sally?" There's a muffled groan, and then a small exclamation of surprise that I recognize as my fellow Chosen, before my partner answers.
>>
>>25720459
"We'll be out in a minute! Just need some time." I figure that's pretty fair, and step back a bit, and after maybe ten minutes of watching the clouds roil and crawl across the skyline, Sally comes out of the tent, hefting both Zoe's and my own bags. When she reaches me, it's with a mirthful expression, one that quickly fades away to one of seriousness as she notices the sky above us. "What in the name of the Gods is THAT?" She asks, and I have no response to give her except a shrug.

Soon, Zoe emerges, looking both rested and a bit perkier than she was yesterday, before coming to join us in our little "stare at the sky like an idiot" party.

Aslan is the first of us to break away from the sight, turning his attention to the camp.
"We are going to need to break camp, soon- staying in one place too long, or leaving any signs, wouldn't be smart of us." He advises, and I'm forced to agree with his logic.

Zoe and I pack the tent back up, and after collecting all of our things and scattering the evidence of our stay, we set off for...

Looking at the mountain and the area surrounding it, I can't help but feel that we should learn more before doing anything. And Sally is perfect for that. I place a hand on my partner's shoulder while retrieving my digivice, and relay my plan to her.

"Sally, do you think you could fly around up there, see if you can't get an idea of the area and what's going on? I'll be able to communicate with you over the digivice." She looks thoughtful, then nods, a determined smile on her face.

"Leave it to me, Wayne!" She bounces up and down a few times, before hopping onto her broom, strapping herself on, and flying off to investigate.

Meanwhile, I've opened the digivice, and selected the option I know will open the link between the two of us. After a couple seconds, Sally's voice comes over the small speaker. "Wayne, I can't see what's up with the clouds, but they're all coming from the mountain-top, it looks like." I turn this over in my head, before asking,

"And what about the base of the mountain? Anything?" The sound of moving air comes over the line, before it ceases, and I can tell Sally's changed location. "No, not that I can see." She replies, and I nod to myself, and

All this talk of Sally Kneeling or lifting...

well, one anon WAS right- she wouldn't MIND kneeling, but that doesn't mean she's an outright sub.

as her fights reveal, she does have a sadistic streak, but that also doesn't make her a domme.

Whichever method makes it easier for her to be closer to her partner, that's the one she'll use. Kneeling or lifting wouldn't really have anything to do with her being S or M.

Sally's more complex than that.

"Sally, once you're done scouting, meet us back at the site. Splitting up now would be too dangerous." I get an affirmative over the digivice, and the line closes. Flipping the phone-like machine shut, I store it in my pocket again, and send a glance in Zoe and Aslan's

direction. They're talking quietly, and Zoe is smiling, something that always succeeds in lifting my spirits...but now, I guess Sally does, as well. The recent developments in our little group have left me a bit disoriented, when it comes to my own feelings- something I do my

best to ignore, in this case. Aslan is looking a bit more sure of himself, and though I can't quite tell how much, he does look a bit happier. I guess that talk really did help him, more than I thought.

With a whoosh and burst of wind, Sally rejoins us, her hand on her hat to keep the red accessory on. With my partner now back, our group of four begins the trek out of the small forest and onto the rocky terrain of the mountain.

Aslan, ever attentive, is walking a distance in front of Zoe, testing all the rocks he steps on to make sure that there's nothing for his human to trip over or slip on. Sally's floating beside me, seemingly ready to reach out and grab me should anything happen.

We're climbing for quite a while before something happens; we hear the crack of thunder, but there's no lightning accompanying it. Looking about, we can't see the cause of the noise, until Zoe looks up, and exclaims, pointing as she does so;

"Up there! The Clouds!" We all look up, and see one of the streams of clouds darkening, turning from a pleasant white to an angry, malevolent black. Every now and again, cracks of thunder can be heard, but all the flashes seem contained within the cloud itself- or above it,

as it may be. I know next to nothing about the physics of this world- it could simply be that thunderstorms happen...upside down.

I highly doubt it, though.

Above us, there's a sudden noise, and though I whip my head towards the sound, I can't tell just what it was. The others didn't seem to notice, but when I glance at Aslan, I can see his ears turned in the same direction the noise came from.

I motion for the others to slow down, and when they catch up, relay what I heard to them in hushed tones. Sally and Aslan are instantly on guard, scanning our surroundings warily, and Zoe looks nervous at the prospect of being attacked on this mountain.
I don't blame her.

We advance slowly now, continuing to climb, but much more aware of our surroundings now that we know we're being watched.

This goes on for about a half an hour, with short breaks for Zoe to rest her feet, and for all of us to hydrate some with the water we brought along. We don't have that much, but we have refillable canteens, and I have a feeling with Sally's Aquary Pressure, gathering clean

water wouldn't be a problem at all.

Eventually, we reach what appears to be a fork in the path we've been taking; ahead, there's only the rocky but servicable path we've been using, but then it branches off to the side, winding around the edge of the incline.

The second path seems promising, and is a welcome break from the constant uphill climb. Following the curve, the four of us discover that eventually, it cuts into the mountain itself, opening into a gaping maw of a cave. From within, I can hear a faint, rhythemic sound.

If there was any time to turn back, I think this might have been it- but we don't. We keep going into the cave, as the thunder gradually grows quieter, and the sounds within begin to grow louder. It's dark inside, but every now and then there'll be a torch to light just enough of the path that we can see the next one. Even further in, I begin to wonder just how deep this cave goes

Now, I can tell what they are- the harsh clang of metal striking metal. This doesn't sound like a fight, though- it's too steady, too measured.

It's more like something's being struck with a hammer, repeatedly.

We come around to a bend, and now the sound is nigh defeaning; we must be right at the source.

And as if to prove me right, just around the bend is a large cavern, with torches all along the walls and ceiling, proving light to the whole space.

And the entire thing is filled with weapons.

Swords, axes, spears, things I can't even name, and here and there I even see a gun, and they all have two things in common- they're all massive, and they're all stuck into the ground in a massive field of steel.

But the true marvel of this place is the being in the center-

He's huge, easily larger than the Ogremon and Fuugamon. Bright crimson armor covers the entire top half of his being, and that's saying quite a bit, considering that he has eight arms. His head is covered with a translucent bubble of some kind, and therest of his body is garbed in red and orange clothes that remind me of what a ninja would wear. In each of his eight hands, he holds a different tool- at least three of them being different kinds of hammers that he's using to strike a white-hot slab of iron over and over. Periodically, a burst of flame will erupt from his chest, reheating the metal. He never stops working.

I instinctively know that interrupting this massive blacksmith would be incredibly unwise. The slightest change in his concentration could ruin the piece, and I don't want to see the aftermath of that. Apparently, neither do any of the others; Sally edges to my side, though whether it's to hide behind me or step in front, I don't know. Aslan is also nudging Zoe back, but before we can leave, the red figure lifts one of his arms, and brings the hammer clutched within down in one final blow, before lifting up what I now recognize as a gigantic gladius. He brings the blade close, turning it this way and that, before letting loose a growl of frustration and tossing the still-red-hot blade to the other side of the cavern. It flies into one of the other finished weapons, and both of them seem to glow, before exploding in a shower of molten metal and sparks. The red giant seems unaffected by this development, and simply picks up another piece of metal, placing it on an anvil in front of him, and lifting his hammer- then he stops, and turns ever so slightly, and I can tell that he's looking at us.

"...I thank you for waiting until I was finished with that, but you needn't have bothered." He puts the hammer down, and turns to face us fully. I can now see that he has a huge nozzle in his chest, where I assume the fire was coming from, and that even under his helmet0bubble, he wears a gasmask of some kind. His gaze is intense, and when we make eye contact, it's as if I'm staring into the earth's very core. His voice, distorted by the mask, still booms out just as loudly as his hammers.

"What business have you with Vulcanusmon, the smith of the gods?" He all but demands, and I struggle for the right words...

"My pardons smith, we are the ones chosen by some of the gods of the digital world, in hopes that we could save it from destruction.

We came to this mountain in the hopes of gaining some insight into the cause of this calamity, and how the world may be restored.

There is also one additional matter. Pardon my boldness, but do you have any apprentices or servants?

I would like to purchase some weapons, but doubt my worthiness to wield anything forged by the smith of gods, the god of smiths."
>>
>>25726162
Would it be metagaming for Wayne to connect the dots to "Smith whose name includes Vulcan" and "Twelve who live on the Mountain" to the Greek Gods?

I mean I assume any child with even mild interest in reading would know of them.

armor as well, if we can.
>>
>>25726885
Yeah more or less.

Probably more respectful that we were with the first gods, because we have read numerous times how capricious Olympians can be.
>>
I'm dimly aware of the fact that I'm speaking to one of the Olympian gods, and that one slip could potentially end all of our lives, or worse.

"M-my pardons, Smith; we were chosen by the Four gods in the tower, in hopes that we could find a way to prevent the digital world's destruction." The red giant says nothing, obviously waiting for me to finish, so I hurry on. "We came here in the hope that we could learn more about about this calamity, perhaps gain some insight into its cause, and how to restore it."

Vulcanusmon nods, his expression never changing, before turning back to his anvil, picking up the hunk of metal with a pair of tongs and turning it around.

"So what would you ask of me, human? You should know that I am not one for anything but creation- if it is information you seek, then elsewhere you must look." He turns slightly, and looks back at us.

"Or perhaps...you do wish to ask something of me, after all? If so, then do not hold your tongue- I have spoken with ruder on friendly terms before." He spins the hammer in his closest hand around, gauging it and the metal, before releasing a gout of flame from his chest, and striking the iron with quickness that would put boxers to shame and envy.

It springs to mind that, perhaps, we could commission a weapon from this Smith-god, who is obviously the analogue to Hephaestus and Vulcan, gods of fire and smithing.

This idea is insane, but it's worth a try. Maybe.

I see what you did there.

"I-...I wish to obtain a weapon, or perhaps armor, for myself and my friend so that we may, if not fight alongside out partners, at least ease their worries by not being completely defenceless. Can you grant us this, Smith of the Gods? God of Smiths?" Sally gives me a surprised look, while Aslan nods approvingly. Zoe looks unsure about it, but doesn't say anything. I'll have to talk to her later, then.

Vulcanusmon lifts his one brow, and stares long and hard at the four of us, before shaking hs head and turning away.

"I apologize, young one, but there is nothing I can do for you at this time." He picks up the hammer again, and slams it down upon the metal, causing a cascade of sparks to rain down about his feet.

"If I were to carve this very steel into a weapon for you, it would be nothing more than metal."

He strikes again.

"The metal, the steel, the blade..they choose the one to wield them. I may create these weapons, I may create many weapons...I could make you a sword, a shield, a spear, out of every scrap of iron in this realm..."

Another strike.

"...And still, none of them would be *yours.*"

He pauses before striking again, and sends an appraising glance to Sally and Aslan. "But you two....I can see where your roads shall take you...the two of you may yet wield something of mine." He turns back to the anvil, and strikes twice. "But for you children, I can do nothing yet. A time will come when, perhaps, you have grown into one who may wield one of these you see before you...but that is not today."

So, that's that. He can't do anything for us right now, even though he sounded genuinely sorry about not being able to help. Well, it wouldn't do to just walk out on the guy.

"...Thank you for your consideration, then. Is there anything we could do to help you? It would be impolite of us to come across one such as yourself and not offer what little aid we could give..." I offer, and the giant smith stops hammering for a second, before chuckling to himself.

"Yes, actually..." He idly picks up the still-hot weapon he was making- what appears to be a gigantic throwing star of some kind- and spins it around, testing it. "If you ever meet my deadbeat apprentice, tell him he still needs work. No matter what he says to the contrary, he still won't be up to scratch; I'll bet my favorite hammer on it." Vulcanusmon throws the star, and in the blink of an eye, it's embedded deep within the wall, completely intact. The God nods to himself, and heaves out another hunk of metal. "If there's anyone who could supply you with something, however...it's him. His weapons may have always been several grades below my own, but he did have the gift... If you can get him to talk to you, then ask him to make you something. He's too proud not to, especially if you tell him what I said." He begins hammering again, before stopping mid-blow, and turning away in a...slightly sheepish manner.

"And since you're going up to the mountain...tell Venusmon I'm doing alright on my own. She doesn't have to worry about me." I'm a bit taken aback, but then I remember his origin in mythology, and have to bite back a chuckle at the irony of the statement.

"It will be done, thank you." I answer, and he waves us off, pointing to another door on the other side of the cavern.
>>
>>25729378
"There's a faster way up the mountain through there. You'll get back some of the time you wasted with me." He doesn't say anything else, and just goes back to his hammering, which I assume is a dismissal, and we hurry through the maze of blades, both exotic and plain, so that we don't interrupt the driven god smith any further.

The tunnel through the Mountain, which I suppose is Olympus, is winding and steep, but interestingly enough, once we reach the incline, the smooth floor becomes stairs, leading straight ahead.

After a while of climbing, even my feet were hurting; Zoe nearly collapsed once, and Sally offered to carry her the rest of the way, an offer Zoe surprisingly accepted.

But it didn't last long- soon, I could see an opening, a doorway of light in the murky black of the tunnels- the exit onto the summit of Olympus.

Once we're through, we arrive at a breathtaking sight; Before us is a volcano- Olympus is a VOLCANO- but...it wasn't ash that was spewing forth from the basin of the mountain. Instead, clouds, white and with the consistency of cotton candy, poured out, spreading and coalescing into a plain of white in all directions.

I reached out to touch one of the stray clumps of cloud, and was shocked to actually feel it- the cloud was solid. Then... I looked about, a sudden realization dawning in all of us at once;

these clouds were all solid. Olympus wasn't just the mountain- these Gods live in what is literally a cloud island!

But...where were they? I look about, but can't see anything but white. I feel a tapping on my shoulder, and turn to see Zoe pointing up: directly above us, on another layer of clouds, was what appeared to be a massive complex of marble and granite.

That was the City of the Gods.

But how to get up there?

Looking at Vulcanusmon's bio, it says that he's the one who created Beelzebumon's guns, the Berenjena.

So it's not something the two of them will receive in their current forms, but they might digivolve into something that does wield one of the smith's weapons.

Considering their potential to Digivolve into members of the Twelve, It is likely that he would craft a varient of 'Aztec' for Aslan, and 'Olympia' for Sally...
