You are a Magical Girl, and you're currently trying to be a professional here.

It's something you've been trying out since the last time you woke up and forgot who you were.

It hasn't exactly been working out, but you're trying. You're trying your best. No one can begrudge you that, at least.

Now if only the idol you're working for would stop fucking around with you, maybe you can stop thinking about being unprofessional.

Like, shoot her in the face and dump her body in a lake unprofessional.

...Well. You're not going to really do that, as much as it's tempting. Kirishima Ruri is proving to be a somewhat decent perrson, despite the fact that she'd done pretty much everything she could to piss you off. From what she's told you - and you're trying your best to give her the benefit of the doubt, here - she was only testing you, or something along those lines. The stuff Iori told you about her? Simply her looking out for a fellow idol, because apparently she knows first-hand just how bad of an idea it is to have a Magical Girl for a partner.

Of course, it does have to be said...why'd she pick this suite, when she knows fully well that Iori was almost raped here?

"Hmm?" Ruri blinks up at you as she opens yet another hulking piece of luggage. You glance at its contents, expecting more hardware, like the rifle she'd just unpacked and assembled - but it's only clothes. Idol stuff. "Oh, that! Well, I wanted Iori-chan to get over that incident, too. One time we passed by here, she very nearly threw up because of the trauma. I thought...well, I should show her how it's not the same room anymore. I heard the hotel management pretty much had everything stripped and burned and replaced, even the flooring." She taps a heeled foot on the floor.

"I wanted to show her that she shouldn't dwell on it anymore, and whoever did it...well, they're not going to do it anymore, thanks to Chiaki-chan." It's here that she whistles slightly. "I watched that video as soon as it went online, you know. So brutal. So chilling." The idol shakes her head, shivering slightly as she hugs herself. "Still...it must be pretty nice to be protected by someone as dependable as you, Chiaki-chan."

Dependable? You audibly snort at this. You fell asleep on the job. You very nearly slept through the entire thing, if it weren't for--

[1/2]
>>
>>25733112

You barely manage to stop yourself here. ...No. No one outside the industry needs to know about Pinky, or about what happened in that hotel suite.

Wait. WAIT. What video?!

"You didn't know?" Ruri blinks as she steps away from her luggage, walking towards you with her smartphone out. "Apparently those guys who tried to do the job on Iori was using a webcast camera. Only they set it so that once it detected that nothing was happening that it'd stop recording and upload the entire thing." She taps at her screen with a perfectly-manicured finger, before flipping the screen towards you. What you see is a high-definition recording of you...well, shooting Iori's would-be rapists dead.

And you were laughing. You...yo're sure you weren't, at that time. But you were laughing, a rough cackling that reached its crescendo as something golden and shiny snapped into your hand, bucking as it spat fire and brimstone.

But...but if the video did go out, then...

"It got deleted as soon as it came up, but a few people saw it and saved it." Ruri says, stepping up beside you so you could both watch it, and you could feel the soft heat of her body as she presses against your side. Her lightly-perfumed scent - one of a sugary peppermint - filling your nostrils.

Another finger comes up as she fast-forwards the entire video. "Don't worry, the video doesn't show Iori=chan at all. I've made sure to buy the license to the video and have it blocked from everywhere, too, so that she doesn't see it again by accident."

That's...huh. Despite how disconcerting it is to watch you gleefully murder a bunch of people who really deserved it, you think that Ruri seems to be not all that bad. Sort of.

"Really?" She grins cheekily at this, pressing against you just a bit more. "Ah, but I'm the sneaky, scheming idol, right? You should be careful about me, you know, Chiaki-chan. I could turn on you right this instant, and you'd be helpless."

[2/3]
>>
>>25733126

You narrow your eyes at her, before gently shrugging her off. Restoring the distance between you and your client.

She can fuck around with you like this, sure. You'll let it pass to an extent. But she shouldn't do any more of the stuff she did earlier.

"Hai, hai~" Ruri snaps a sharp, textbook salute, one that's spoiled somewhat by the fact that she's winking while doing so. "No more funny stuff, Chiaki-chan! You can count on me!"

Well. So long as that's straightened out.

You idly rub at your arm - the arm that'd Ruri had, either by accident or design - had pressed herself against. It was...warm and nice, sure. But nothing you shouldn't care about.

You should start giving the room a once-over, then. For security purposes.

With a metallic snap, your Shield materializes around your right arm, clicking faintly before falling silent.

Where should you start?

That would be the most shocking twist yet. Somehow Midori's illusion causing Chiaki to go into a coma where she's been dreaming everything since. Possibly some of it being thought up by Pinky for Reasons.

In the real world, the Iori mission was totally botched, Midori's still hiding in a dark corner of the 10th Officio condo feeling miserable, and everyone else wonders when Murderface is going to wake up...........

Wait, so there are a select few otaku who got to see our snuff film. This is the kind of thing that when you try to cover it up it only comes out even more. Just like with the shit we do on 4chan, someone on their forums has already posted a pic showing the similarity's between us then and us now.

You decide to check the bedroom first. It's the main area of the suite, anyway, and you're already here. But...you should probably check to see if you're not currently snoring in some Callidus' barrier before that. Not that you're paranoid or anything. It's just you being careful. Cautious. Professional.

Midori taught you this trick, during your final days in Sibaria. Apparently, Callidus are also trained to detect illusionary barriers, just in case a double agent or whatever is trying to get the jump on them. All they had to do was to get their Soul Gem back in its jewel form, and think very hard about finding a Witch in the vicinity. Apparently, the Barrier of a Witch and a Callidus were quite similar, and anyone's Soul Gem would react distinctly to either once they were close enough.

She did warn you, however, that it's not exactly a one-hundred percent thing. Some Callidus are known to be very good with their illusions, and it takes more than that to root them out. But in that case, Midori would sense it - and immediately contact you through your attunement with her. The both of you tried it out, during one evening - and you discovered that you could talk to each other with short sentences just fine, only that it was completely exhausting to keep up for a while. You agreed on only doing it during emergencies.

You tell Ruri to go back to whatever she was doing - the idol giggling here, before doing exactly that - and it's with your back turned to her that you manifest your Soul Gem back into the form that reminds you of an overly-elaborate Christmas tree bauble. You tap at the golden gilding gently, peering at the darkened purple gemstone - before taking a deep breath, closing your eyes, and concentrating. If there was a Witch or Callidus Barrier nearby, then it'd grow warm, almost hot in your hand, and glow in urgent pulses.

[1/2]
>>
>>25733698

Only takes one magical hacker to shut down everything. Though it's probably more efficient to just have a bunch of people laughing at the "obviously doctored videos".

Whatever the case, it's really a minor thing, no? Murderface is already a legend so there's probably dozen of such "sighting videos" and things floating around.

One more won't change a thing.

You open your eyes after a moment, and see that the Soul Gem is inert. Nothing. Witch Barrier OR Callidus Barrier.

And Midori hasn't contacted you yet.

...Well, that's good enough. For now.

You turn slightly to glance at Ruri. She's humming as she holds up what seems like a very frilly and very...scant nightgown, holding it against her and looking at the mirror. Normal stuff.

You shake your head as your soul gem sparks into existence on the back of your right hand.

Idols.

You give the bedroom - and the living room, as well - the once-over you also gave it a few lifetimes ago, back when all you were guarding was a brown-haired idol getting on your case for not taking personal hygiene all that seriously. Nothing seems to be untoward, here - no hidden cameras, no weak locks or anything that could give easily with a shove. Nobody hiding underneath the bed or in the closets, either. The ceiling, which once had a skylight, was now firmly boarded up and skylight-less, so you won't have to worry about operapists rappeling down from it ever again.

"Chiaki-chan, can I ask you a question?" Ruri suddenly asks you, as you go down on your knees to look for anything under the furniture. Bugs and whatnot. "That Magical Girl whose knees you shot off in the video. What happened to her?"

...Well. She didn't even wait for you to say if she could ask you, but...

How do you respond?

You give the underside of the sofa another thorough look, before finally getting back up, patting your knees clean as you do so. Everything seems clean, from what your initial sweep tells you. That leaves the bathroom, which you make a beeline for. It's also here that you decide to indulge Kirishima Ruri on her curiosity.

The Magical Girl whose knees you shot off in the video? Well, if Ruri was at all familiar with standard operating procedure as far as captured Magical Girls are concerned, they're usually taken to a cold and dark room where they can't do any harm. They're kept there for a while until they're ready to be interrogated, the methods of which an idol like her doesn't really need to know. After that, depending on how the captured Magical Girl behaves - and the general temperament of those who captured her - then she's either set free and left to return to her Officio in shame, or killed and then disposed of.

"Has anyone ever told you that it's scary, the way you talk about stuff like that and sound like you don't care at all?" Ruri says this just as you check the bathroom's expansive clothes closet for anything amiss. Her voice trembling just so very slightly. "But hee, it's a bit exciting. Oh, please continue, sorry to interrupt."

Has anyone ever told her she was strange as fuck? Of course, you don't say this, merely grunting in annoyance before continuing.

You followed standard operating procedure on the Magical Girl, to the letter - except for the last bit. That was taken conveniently out of your hands by your boss. The last thing you know is that she's somewhere else, alive and well and most likely going to think twice before she takes another job like that.

[1/2]
>>
>>25734335

"Hoh~ I see, I see. That's just a bit too convenient, though, but I'll take it, I suppose. I wanted to hear a sad ending, but a happy ending's not all that bad." Ruri's voice seems to grow wistful at this, before turning cheeky yet again. "Although...it'd be weird, wouldn't it, if you somehow fell in love with that Magical Girl instead of killing her like you were supposed to? Right, Chiaki-chan?"

...Just how much does this fucking idol KNOW?

You open your mouth to snap a reply, before seeing what looks like a frilly pair of green-striped underwear lying on the sink.

AND WHY ARE IDOLS ALWAYS LEAVING THEIR PANTIES AROUND FOR YOU TO FIND? FUCK.

How do you respond?

At worst they die after becoming the sort of monsters they were brought up believing they should fight against

She's attempting to rattle us or confirm suspicions by idly saying things like that. Whether she actually knows or not is debatable.

Although, if she has extremely fanatical fans or informants in mundane positions around the city, it would not be that far-fetched if she was informed that a certain broccoli-head was seen with some Mayumi cosplayer.

Possible. The head could have been done by a hired goon of some sort.

We should ask about the box or that Ruri look-alike thing. Turn the pace around and ask her some questions again.
>>
>>25734561
Why did I just picture that being part of a cheesy 80's montage?
>>
>>25734576
You were supposed to kill a girl? That's a little odd, even before the part where how you got together with her afterwards.
>>
>>25734576
the point is to pretend that Midorin is working for our officio but has no type of relationship with us at all.
We should send her a quick message to see what sh's up to when we get the chance.
>>
We should probably ask Midori to throw a few red herrings into her mango when she gets the chance. The last thing we need is an accurate representation of our life just out there. Ruri probably only reads the manga and picks out the details, which is why she knows so much.
>>
>>25734594

Haha.
>Midori intercepting a cig going into Chiaki's mouth
>Midori refilling all of the booze with water in the bottles in Chiaki's secret stash.
>Midori updating the day counter again
>Tugging on Chiaki's cheeks to try and get her to smile properly
>A tattered and bloody Chiaki and Midori walking into the warmaster quarters at the end of a busy day. Midori dispondantly pulls the day counter off the poster while Chiaki lights up a cig.
>>
>>25734660
Uh, Iori spilled, like, everything.
>>
On the subject of Shadowruns:

Ruri's info is way too accurate and too up to date.

I'm not saying she's The Prophet like some other anon suggested, but there's definitely something fishy with how she keeps coming up with information and pushing Chiaki's buttons.

If everybody weren't so decided on playing nice, I'd suggest trying to scare her into spilling.
>>
>>25734660
I don't think Midori has actually gotten too much of our real life into the manga yet anyway
Remember she had a backlog of unreleased stuff over ten volumes long so anything she is still writing will only be coming out when they clear it up
>>
>>25734676

I do think that we need to grab Iori and figure out just exactly how much she's spilled to Ruri.
>>
>>25734676
She's running interference for or assisting Oriko (Or some other person who is a prophet). Why? Because the person knows about Homu's powers.

Possibility: Mami is a distraction and Homura is the actual target.
>>
>>25734712

Likely everything.

When one is infatuated, he/she tends to spew every possible thing about him/her.
>>
>>25734660
On the other hand, it's pretty interesting to see Midori turn people like Kharn and Pinky into h-characters, so I'm kind of tempted to let that part keep going.
>>
>>25734712

She's coming up with info that Iori has no way of sharing because she doesn't know. So that is out as a source.

There's a chance that she's just throwing guesses out to see what Chiaki reacts to, but the rest of her information has been spot on.

It's just pretty weird, I think.
>>
>>25734670
Actually she would probably be replacing whiskey with cold tea

Watered down black tea can pass for whiskey or bourbon at a glance
>>
>>25734745
She actually isn't coming up with anything
We are spilling far too much in our answers and she so far is just fishing
>>
>>25734745

Yes, but sadly we can't just start BLAM'ing everybody who knows something about us. This one's been fishy from the get-go, but this isn't the 'kill all the things so there's no loose ends' mission.

Yet. I mean, despite the fact that Ruri is triggering a ton of people's shadowruns, we just can't waste her to be sure.

>Suddenly the second season of GITS:SAC makes more sense to me now.
>>
>>25734610
>You were supposed to kill a girl? That's a little odd, even before the part where how you got together with her afterwards.

No, the part about her panties lying around in the bathroom.
>>
>>25734745
>>25734763
>>25734777

I dunno. She's been very spot-on with little input from us. Or maybe because my "Shadowrun" meter is ticking madly at the moment. We'll just have to see how this'll go.
>>
>>25734793
What she has been spot on about has been things Iori could have told about us
What she hasn't been spot on about she could be fishing for information and we are connecting too many dots
>>
>>25734793
You're probably right, but for this specific situation, it is worth considering that Chiaki's hung out with Midori in public (at the very least heading to the airport, probably other times that slip my mind) which could have been seen, and Ruri might have gotten a clear look at Midori in the video, and then she put two and two together. Unlikely but not impossible.
>>
>>25734821
>>25734793
For example she is asking what happened to the girl we shot the legs out of then randomly went to falling in love with her
I don't think that Chiaki has reall fallen in love with Midori despite going out on limb for her in getting her switched to Coobie

Also given Ruri has been around for a while she may know Kharn and we know how good she is with secrets
>>
That video thing is going to be pretty harsh if that finds any traction. Because EVERYONE'S going to want to get their hands on "See a popular idol almost get raped until she's saved by a lunatic schoolgirl with a gun in each hand messily murdering everyone" tape that was supposedly DELETED FROM THE INTERNET. "See what the government didn't want you to know!" or something.

Not only is it a blow to Iori, it also wouldn't look good for Midori to be identified as aiding and abetting in the crime.
>>
>>25734670
Drawfags, you know what to do
>>
>>25734858
It has been a while since it was out and if that hasn't happened already then I really doubt it is

I am inclined to think Ruri actually has this under wraps aside from a few people who saved it
>>
>>25734858
Somehow, I don't think she was telling the truth about how she got it.

We seriously need to doublecheck with Coobs about that.

You see Ruri grinning at you as she looks up from her luggage - before blinking somewhat as she sees what you're currently holding.

"I...um...I could explain that, I was--" The idol stutters, suddenly off-balance for the first time since you met, before you shake your head and toss the scrap of cotton and silk at her direction. Whatever her explanation is, you don't want to hear it - only that she should probably learn that there's a thriving market for an idol's used panties, and she should pack a bit more neatly. And used clothes go IN the hamper, not all over the place.

"Aheh. I'll...I'll remember that. Sorry..." Ruri knuckles her forehead, sheepishly sticking a tongue out in yet another cute, endearing idol-gesture. Making you quickly avert your eyes AND dampen what little satisfaction you earned from being able to lecture someone who earns millions just by prancing around on a stage while singing badly.

...Man. It's only been the first day, and you're already sick of this mission. It can't end soon enough, can it?

"I don't know how I left it there, though..." The idol tilts her head this way and that as she examines the pair of frilly underwear. "I'm positive I had Noriko-chan take care of my laundry before you got here, and--" It's then that her expression twists into a rather miffed one. "Oooh, that Noriko! That does it, she's definitely staying in the box for an entire night!"

You blink at this, before narrowing your eyes at her. What's this about a box you keep hearing about? She should really take it easy on Deepthroat--er, Noriko. The poor girl tries her best, even you could see that.

[1/2]
>>
>>25735420

Instead of rebuking you, the idol seems to take your suggestion seriously, a grunt of frustration issuing from her. "Nnn, I know...and really, I do treat her as nice as I could, even when it looks like I don't! But sometimes, you can't help but try and tease her, you know?" Ruri looks at you with an expression of mingled despair, like someone desperate to get her point across. "It's...it's like she's this perfect M, and you just want to bully her and make her cry whenever you see her--"

No. No you don't know anything about that. And what the hell is the damn box about?

"Oh, it's nothing bad. It's just whatever huge box I can find, and she has to stay inside it for a while with the lights out. When she falls asleep inside of it, I sneak up and shake it while making ghost noises."

...Yeah, that thing about her changing your opinion about idols? She had an awful start, then began to do well until she's back into horrible again.

Although...well, that does sound hilarious. Awful, but hilarious.

Anyway. It looks like her suite's clean, for now. You don't need to start getting paranoid at the moment. You let out a sigh, before turning to Ruri and opening your mouth to ask about her twenty-four hour webcast - before someone suddenly entering the suite cuts you off.

It's...well. You've seen a lot of Yakuza, and they're Yakuza, alright. No matter how well they dress or how much they'd like to pass off the bulges inside their suits as nothing particularly illegal or high-caliber, you could spot one from a mile away.

But this one - at least, the one with the more expensive suit and the one to first step into the room looks...sharper. Young for a yakuza, too, probably in his mid-thirties or something. No disfiguring scars like his goons, but he does have quite the shit-eating sneer that, combined with his perenially-narrowed makes you want to grind clean off his face with the pavement.

"Ah, Miss Kirishima?" The lead Yak says, his voice smooth and oily. "Please, allow me to bid you welcome, on behalf of the Tojo Group, to Mitakihara. We appreciate you choosing our city as the final venue for your world tour - no doubt we'll be feeling the boost in our economy and popularity for years to come."

He seems civil enough. You turn to Ruri, and--

...Well. She doesn't look like she was expecting him. In fact, she looks positively livid.

"What are you doing here?!" Ruri's shout is a whip-crack in the relative silence of the hotel room. "You're not supposed to even be in the same building as I am! What...how did you get past security? They weren't supposed to let you in--"

"They weren't, I'll agree," The yak says silkily, not missing a beat despite the obvious discomfiture of the super idol. "But we reassured them that we were only here for a very brief meeting with you. Business matters." It's here that he snaps his fingers, and one of his goons gives him a manila folder. "Now, I'm sure you've read my emails, Miss Kirishima, so you must know why I'm here. It's the matter of--"

"I'm not signing your damn contract," Ruri snarls. "I've got my own production company, and no matter how many zeroes are there on your check I'm not leaving! I know what happens to Tojo Production idols after they sign!"

"All rumor and baseless conjecture, I assure you--"

"GET OUT! JUST GET OUT!"

How do you react? From your count, it seems like there's the lead yak and four, maybe five goons with him. All of them probably armed.

>Even in a dark, cynical world, magical girls murdering indiscriminantly is still frowned upon, and tends to be grounds for retirement.

Good thing they're in the way of our work and probably won't go quietly. Gonna need several bodybags for this. If we see anyone else from the organization after this, might have to think about purging them for causing trouble to our client.

The lead yak sighs the sigh of the massively-bereaved, his rather bulky shoulders going up and down in a theatrical shrug. "Please, just hear us out, Miss Kirishima. I'm prepared to offer you twice what I did the last time, along with all the benefits of being a member of Tojo productions. Why, we'll even make you our flagship idol, if you're worried about starting from scratch. Please reconsider--"

"No! I don't care about your damn offer, I told you to GET OUT!" Ruri takes what appears to be a walkie-talkie from her bedside drawer. "Hello? Hello, security! Get up here right this minute!"

It's here that you finally insinuate yourself into this little scene, placing yourself in between your client and the yakuza. For some reason, they didn't seem to have noticed you, all their eyes riveted to the idol. Suits you just fine, really - and you'd have taken the opportunity with a machinegun if you could. But not right now, not when a pile of bullet-riddled bodies would prove inconvenient to your client.

"Excuse me?" The yak stops in his approach, his piercing eyes narrowing at you. "Stand aside, girl. I've business with Kirishima, not you. Don't get involved."

Cute. You shake your head at this. "Miss Kirishima is asking you businessmen to leave. This meeting has ended." You say this as quietly and as politely as you can, and it's with nonchalant slowness that you place a hand on the rim of your Shield. Ready to slam it into Time Stop the very first moment you're given a reason to.

The lead yak opens his mouth to protest, before realization visibly dawns upon him - his eyes straying to your costume, then at the Shield on your arm. It's then that he steps back and smiles, like that of a shark just sighting its next meal.

"Ah. I see. A Magical Girl escort, Miss Kirishima? How every quaint. And very clever." He chuckles. "Although, one has to wonder if this kind of security is warranted? Surely Miss Kirishima doesn't think she's in any sort of danger that requires the protection of one of...them?" He cocks his head towards you, the gesture making his slicked-back hair gleam in the overhead lighting.

"I do, if scum like you are getting up here like you own the place," Ruri spits, clearly frazzled by this encounter. "Chiaki-chan? If one of them makes a sudden move, you've my permission to shoot their kneecaps out."

She doesn't even need to say it.

"Oh, don't blame them, please. They're just hardworking men who wish to go back to their wives and families after a hard day's work, of guarding one of Japan's most precious jewels." The yak smiles again, before looking down at you. "Young lady, I do apologize that we had to meet like this. May I ask your name, and from which Officio do you hail from?"

Well, this is new. Normally, yakuza don't last long enough to ask you your name. Normally all they do is screaming.

Yes, murdering them all when they're being "civil" may be a bit of overkill and would be a pain to justify to coobs afterwards, but this just seems reaaaaaaaally suspicious.

Kyuubey wasn't entirely happy with how Kharn operated, and it wasn't just because she slept around. And Kirika was slated for retirement for similar.
While we can get away with substantially more murder than the average bear, it's still something to keep in mind that there is an upper limit, especially when it may come to people who may possibly be unaffiliated with whatever our potential target is.

The Magical Girl Ruri was in love with was actually the original Ruri. When she broke their relationship apart, current!Ruri murdered her, then in a fit of grief and self-loathing contracted with a wish to take the original Ruri's place and live out her dead lover's dream of being a world famous idol. This accounts for the dead body double; that was original!Ruri, murdered by her former lover, current!Ruri.

I was originally thinking that something like this had happened - either that current!Ruri contracted to live out original!Ruri's life, or that current!Ruri is original!Ruri's Callidus lover, who then used her powers to replace original!Ruri after her untimely death. I think either way the timeline doesn't work out, though? We were told that the dead body double was several albums in, and she was singing about Magical Girls and being famous from her first album?

>We were told that the dead body double was several albums in, and she was singing about Magical Girls and being famous from her first album?
Original!Ruri was a Magical Girl and an idol. Current!Ruri was just a regular girl caught in a whirlwind romance. When she says she knows it's a bad idea to date Magical Girls, she knows because she killed the one she dated and took her place in every possible way - except in her own heart.

Ruri is Ruri, her meguca waifu was originally a girl who looked up to Ruri and fell in love with her, whose wish was to be more like her love? So she slowly started changing physical appearance until she was almost Ruri's body double. That explains why there was a family who identified the body as their daughter - it *was* their daughter, who'd slowly taken on Ruri's appearance as part of her (Callidus?) powers.

You shake your head at this. "I'm sorry, I thought your business was with Miss Kirishima. Not me. And I just informed you, that business was concluded." You step forward, suddenly, causing the six-foot slab of italian suit-wrapped muscle and oily pompadour to step back again. "Don't. Let me. Detain you."

This is diplomacy, right? Mami told you you'd need to be diplomatic sometimes, as Warmaster. It isn't so bad, after all - it's actually pretty fun. The only hard part is stopping yourself from shooting someone.

"Yes, well. I see Miss Kirishima has chosen her escort well." The yakuza seems to compose himself after a moment, before suddenly bowing to you. Holding out with both hands what looks to be a calling card. "We of the Tojo Group respect the hard work you and your fellow Magical Girls do for our business. It's not much, but please accept this."

You blink at this sudden show of...reverence, before taking the card. You don't have one of your own, and despite yourself, you find yourself apologizing for this.

"Perfectly all right." It's then that he straightens up, and looks back at Ruri. "I'll take my leave today, Miss Kirishima, but if you change your mind--"

"I WON'T!"

"...If you do, please don't hesitate to call me no matter the hour. I will be happy to accomodate and welcome you to the Group personally." He turns to you and nods, the smile on his face almost servile, craven, except for the fact that they never seemed to reach his eyes. "Good day to you both." It's then that he turns around, and ushers his goon out of the room - but not before nearly bumping into Sayaka and Deepthroat, with the latter holding up the camera.

Actually, she doesn't have to have killed her. It could simply be that the original Ruri died. And so she grieved, and decided she wanted to take over to finish keep doing what Ruri herself did -- singing.

"Huh? Who're you guys?" Sayaka asks, confused and angry about being confused. "Hey! Watch where you're going, you fu--nny-smelling idiot!" The Eversor deftly censors herself as she gets pushed aside by a rather beefy goon shoving past her. Deepthroat doesn't fare any better, being buffetted here and there, but she makes a valiant show of keeping the camera trained at the yaks - which probably helped in getting them to leave all the more quickly.

"Fucking yaks," Blueberry snarls as the last of them finally leaves, the door closing behind them. "Heard you from next door, Murderface. They give you any trouble?"

No, they didn't. Nearly did. ...If she heard everything, why didn't she burst in, too? You'd have appreciated the help, at least. ...And where's Iori?

"Nah, you sounded like you got everything under control. I was actually waiting for the gunshots to start. Color me surprised when you didn't even pistol-whip one in the face just to make a point." It's here that she grins, before noticing that Deepthroat's still going on with the camera, her knees knocking together.

"Er...you don't hafta pretend anymore, they're gone. Oh, and Iori had to go, earlier. Told us she'll be back, she needs to get to the dance routine practice early, something like that." She catches the look you're giving her. "Jeez, I made sure she got to her car fine, okay? Yaks weren't here yet when she did. Told me to tell you to be careful, too, and she'll talk to you later.

Well. Alright, that's fine -- wait. You're not webcasting right now?

"N-no, that's not until later," Deepthroat replies shakily. "It was...it was Miss Sayaka's idea, to make them think they were gonna end up on the webcast..."

Huh. There's a thing. You thought Sayaka was all about the choppy, not the cunning.

"Hey! I can be cunning too!".

Is there any other way?

And which megucas work for the Yaks?
>>

BURN THE CARD
>>
>>25736909
Well I think it is time we explained who Sayaka really is to Ruri

And to get Ruri to talk to Sayaka so that she can see that she is what she originally thought ( apparently ) instead of what she got which was probably full Idol mode
>>
>>25736964
>And which megucas work for the Yaks?

Juubey I'd guess. Yakuza wouldn't be any worse than Otaku rape squad.
>>
>>25736963
>"Hey! I can be cunning too!".

Brutally cunning? Or cunningly brutal?
>>
>>25736961
Now how do you feel?

Blueberry is really growing on me.
>>
>>25736964
From in game knowledge?
The tenth and his Pleiades Saints

Every time I think of Jyubey having a group called the saints I get this images of the cockney voiced third streets saints boss as an incubator for some reason
>>
>>25736963

"It...it was very cunning, really.." Deepthroat smiles, before shakign her head. "Those yakuza has been...f-following Ruri-sama ever since she got back to Japan...we think...um..." Her sunken, ringed eyes look towards Ruri, who seems to be breathing in and out into a paper bag. Visibly trying to calm herself down.

Well. Who'd have thought. Super idol gets nervy because some yaks came to visit.

You glance at the card you're given.

>Mine Yoshitaka
>Hakuho-kai President
>Tojo Group

Mine Yoshitaka, huh? You put the calling card in your inventory. May come in handy. You should probably ask Kyuubey about this group later, too.

"We think that someone in my own production firm's in cahoots with them," Ruri finishes Deepthroat's hanging sentence for her, gasping all the while. "And because of that, my...my security's compromised. That's the other reason why I hired you, Chiaki-chan. I want you to help me root out whoever's behind it, and get them to the proper authorities to be dealt with."

...To the proper authorities? No, she can just give you five minutes alone in a room with all of her staff, and you'll find who it is. They'll be leaving the place in a bodybag.

Ruri blinks at this, before shaking her head. Managing a smile and a wink despite her obviously frazzled state. "That's...that's not how Justice works, Chiaki-chan."

"Yeah, that's not how Justice works at all." Sayaka says, suddenly smug as she crosses her arms under her chest."Besides, I can do it in three."

She can just shut up.

"No."
>>
>>25736963
>You're not webcasting right now?
Ohhhhh, thank fuck. That could've been problematic. We need to get a chance to debrief Sayaka before they start filming, and to talk to Ruri about the webcast and how we may need it switched off if we're about to start shooting.
>>
>>25736963
Yeah, pretty cunning.

But I was diplomatic.

Praise me

Fuck. I want a MGNQ saints row mod now.
>>
>>25737015
We should phone Mami and tell her we didn't shoot any Yakuza. We didn't even draw a weapon of any sort!

This, of course, call for pancakes.
>>
>>25737010
Actually the webcast might be our best protection of all
If the Yaks think that anything they do will end up on the Internet then they will probably think twice about trying anything direct to get Ruri to sign while we are on this job

So avoiding the shooting and preferably doing anything too violent off camera is a good idea since it will keep our client safer

The character even matches it pretty well which is what made me think of the cockney boss being Jyubey

Roll eyes and comment that even if the Yakuza were brought to the proper authorities, they could easily get out again, either through bribes or by putting pressure on one politician or another.
Our method is much quicker and less of a hassle.

>>25737155

That's pretty possible, considering Murderface needs to be with Ruri at all times, even when she's sleeping!
>>
>>25737182

At the end of the first day of this job at the earliest, IIRC. The day is not over yet.

What... What if Noriko was the insider and acting weak like that?
>>
>>25737338
Then we give her an Oscar before dispersing Justice.
>>
>>25737338
I want to guess that if Ruri weren't extremely certain Noriko was trustworthy she wouldn't be here. She's probably not even part of the company, and even if she is, she's also the only one in the company we've actually dealt with here, and the only one, likely, that's privy to this information.

Or she's a great actor and Ruri is a sap. Or is in love with her. And she's Magical Maso Noricchi.
>>
>>25737338
Or because she hated how she's being treated, but is too afraid to straight up quit/ she's geen given an offer she can't refuse.
