"So..." You start before Rose hands you another 90mm shell. "La Presidente thinks we could earn some money for the team if her float wins some prize in the parade." You hand the shell down to Roy. "We need some cash for this team, but I'm not sure if I like her idea..."

You are Commander Russells, commander of the M26E1 Pershing Heavy Tank "Black Jack" and you're not sure if Anzu's idea might actually work, or is just hairbrained. A lot of her ideas are like that- just on the very edge of "crazy enough to work."

"She's not planning on painting Black Jack again." Roy states- not so much a guess as a confirmation of fact. He places the 90mm shell into the last spot of the turret's ready-rack.

"She wants me to convince the rest of the team to do that Dogfish dance or whatever..." You say, taking another shell from Rose and passing it down to Roy, who stows it in the ammo rack under the gunner's seat. "Says it'll really appeal to the townsfolk."

"So what's the problem? The team does a stupid dance and gets some liquid assets." He stops. "Maybe replace that junker the Duck Team is driving with something that can actually hurt other tanks."

Shared humiliation/experience is a good way to tie the teams even closer. Something thats used to good effect even outside.

And regarding the full story? We know thanks to meta. Do the characters need such a sword hanging over their heads? It'll affect their tankery performance too, on top of how it'll affect their outlook on everything. Much better to just let them assume Anzu is a little bitch.

Besides, theres also the need for it or something very similar for the pravda match. Nothing says to hell with you like a silly dance.

"Why don't you guys do the Anglerfish dance, then?" Rose says, handing you yet another 90mm shell- the plan was to head out and do a bit of target practice later- loading and deloading ammunition was perhaps one of the most time-consuming activities on a tank. "I mean, you guys certainly can't be any more embarassing than you already are..."

You look down at Roy. "Well, as long as it doesn't involve leotards or funny hats..." You say, "Maybe if we do it the rest of the girls will follow?"

Roy nods, thinking. "It's an idea... Any more shells?" He askes looking up from the innards of the turret.

Rose's head pops over the hatch again. "Commander, one of the Glorianna girls is out here..."

"Which one?" You ask, starting the climb up.

"Not Darjeeling." She says flatly.

As you come out the top of the commander's hatch you see a girl in a Glorianna uniform- she's a bit shorter than the other two, her long blond hair pulled back from her face with a black bow. "Pleasure to meet you, Commander Russells." She says politely. "My name is Assam, you've heard of me?"

>Hello Assam. Where's Darjeeling."
>>
You nod politely to her. "Afternoon. So, how can we help you?" You ask, resting your elbows on the top of Black Jack's turret.

"Actually, I was hoping to talk to your gunner and give my regards for their performance yesterday." She says politely. "She showed excellent marksmanship at every range she engaged at. She is certainly among the best I've fought against."

"That'd be Rose here." You say, tilting your head towards her. "Best gunner I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of 'em." You're proud of all your crew, they've trained to be the best, but Rose is probably the biggest reason your team has been successful- her knack for pulling nearly-impossible shots has ended more games in your favor than anything else.

"Thank you, Assam, it means a lot to hear that." Rose says earnestly. Despite her ability to remain cool and modest, you can almost feel the pride radiating from her. She knows she's the best and, like anyone, loves to hear about that particular fact.

"Actually, I was wondering if you'd be up for a challenge at target practice today?" Assam says politely. "Three-Meter target, Eight-hundred meters range, up to three ranging shots. After that, the first to miss loses."

"I'll do it." Rose says without hesitating. "But I have one stipulation- we both use the same gun. That way we compare skill, not who's gun is more accurate."

"Agreed." Assam says. Assam has no idea what she's getting herself into.

As soon as the girls wander off to go make arrangements you climb out of the turret and start making your way dwon the front of the tank.

"Where are you going?" Roy says, poking his head above the hatch. "C'mon, we aren't even close to fully loaded!"

You smile at him. "Assam just challenged Rose to a shoot-off. Rose is going to win this, and I'm going to go see if I can get that to be something more than a moral victory..." You say with wry grin.

"A bet?" He says. "What do you even have to wager?" That was actually a pretty good question- you really didn't have a lot to wager with. "I'll think of something!" You call out as you head over towards the Lee, the last place you'd seen Darjeeling. Roy's right though- you don't have much to wager with.

You don't have a lot to bet, so you're going to need to go to someone who's got the resources for a worthwhile ante.

That means Anzu- even if she's no longer the captain of the team and no longer has a say in strategy or training. (Beyond any other tea member, anyway.) she still has control of the purse strings that fund the team. You find her about where you'd left her, this time she's at least pretending to know anything about the 38(t)'s engine while she stares at something on her phone.

"So, heard about the Glorianna gunner challenging Rose?" You say as you come up to the Czech tank.

"Yep." Anzu says, glancing away from her phone/the engine for a second to acknowledge you. "Should be interesting..."

"I want to make it more interesting..." You segue. "Rose is going to win this. We can either be happy about that and count it as a nice little morale booster for the team, or we can do something with it." You say matter-of-factly.

"What were you thinking of doing with it?"

"A bet. I want to make a bet with Darjeeling." You say bluntly. "Only problem is I don't really have anything to put up as Ante. But you do."

She nods with a slight smile. You're playing her game now and she obviously approves. You feel a bit slimey for it. "What did you have in mind?"

"It's not much, really." You say, glancing over at the M3 Lee where Darjeeling is still helping the Rabbit Team. "I'm thinking if we can get them to do the Tunafish dance, then maybe some of the rest of the team will be ok with doing it as well." You say. "I just don't know what to offer them if we were to lose."

Anzu thinks for a moment. "If Rose loses..." She snaps her fingers. "If Rose loses, your crew and the student council will sing their school song for the float." She pauses for a moment. "Rose had better win, Commander, because we won't get a single vote if that happens."

"Rose doesn't lose. She hates to lose, even more than I do." You say, completely serious. "She won't lose this- not to Assam, not to anyone."

Anzu nods. "You had better be right."

Stop playing a dedicated scout and start messing with autoloaders.
>>
>>25788088
Well enough.
Haven't been playing for a while and recently started again so I can't really compare it since it's more than one patch since I last played.
I don't know if it was the latest patch or earlier, but gods I'm glad they lowered the exp cost for artillery.
>>
>>25788190
I've never played on SEA mostly because Southeast Asians are some of the most consistently obnoxious people I've ever met. Like, even on NA if you see someone playing a Chinese tank, they're probably going to be an asshat.

Don't know about him, but I'm loving the new patch.

Yes, arty takes longer to properly aim now, but even when not aimed all the way you can still reliably hit the target.

>>
>>25788295
>said by NO ONE EVER!
don't tell her.
>>
>>25788335
You're right, I haven't. They can drift? Which ones? I will start on the tree right now.
>>
>>25788291
That thing is about as qualified as a scout tank as the 38(t).

It has much more in common with a medium than a light tank. Even the guy reflects that.
>>
>>25788365
>he's never seen an ELC AMX drift around a corner and finish off a weakened foe with a well-timed shot right up the ass
I don't even play Lights, but it was the most beautiful thing I ever saw. I will remember it until the day I die.
>>
>>25788365
ELCs are the only ones that can drift regularly, not to the point of the t50 series but very close.

The tier 6 up can drift in particular conditions such as going downhill or similar.

The autoloaders are absolute murder and I often hear about how unfair they are. That said, it's still a light tank so you're not a brawler but a flanker. That said, their tanks are incredible fun.
>>
>>25788365
AMX 13 90. The skill ceiling is very high though, and considering that you've never heard of speedy baguette cannons before, you'd probably fail hard when trying it out.
>>
>>25788407
ELC's are hilarious and beautiful to watch drifitng. I personally enjoy drifting down hills in my Hellcat to pull shots. And people tell me the 76mm is useless!
>>
>>25788429
French light line: one of the many MANY lines in which tiers 1-4 are completely different from the higher tiers
>>
>>25788365
>>25788418
Oh btw.

The tiers before 5 are VERY irritating. More heavies than lights. It'll be absolute hell going through them but it's totally worth it.
>>
>>25788246
I think the worst nerf is the travel time the shell takes now.
It takes something like +4 seconds for a shell to get to the other side of the map.

Also, my formerly lovely agile Hummel has it's engine power cut by half. Can't outrun even the heavy tanks now.

The nerf had to come sooner or later, for sure. However it doesn't mean I have to like it.
>>
>>25788474
The Rubber Duckie is a lot of fun if you're near the top of the tier listing.
>>
>>25788366
>That thing is about as qualified as a scout tank as the 38(t).

>>
>>25788453
The dude stole my hard-earned kill (the enemy and I had been harrying each other the whole match), but all I could do was applaud.
>>
>>25788490
Whining about kills when EXP and coin is rated by damage caused...
>>
>>25788518
I was one kill away from Top Gun, dude.
>>
>>25788225
This. I don't know what it is, but every time I see some guy in a Chinese tank, I know he's going to be that asshole pushing me out of cover so he can have it or waiting around until my target's at less than 4% health to shoot or ram a stationary ally and blame them when he takes damage.
>>
>>25788546
in that case, His French Douchery is confirmed.
>>
>>25788487
Considering most Tier 7+ tanks have the same, if not better, viewing and radio skills, yeah, that does make it unfit for scouting.

Against things closer to it's own tier the Chaffee is good, but when most tanks can spot it before it sees them and can 1-shot it then having it there is pretty pointless..

Oh yes. I had one match in the Duck and managed to bounce a hundred odd shots (no autocannon fire) in a tier 4 game before getting unlucky to a Marder. It was glorious; it's almost the Maus of it's tier.

>>25788366
Seconding >>25788487. Chaffee is great; the problem is with the player, not the tank.
>>
>>25787792
we've been getting 1's all night. And the roll system is d20. At one point we got three consecutive 1's in a row because each poster taunted fate.
>>
>>25788613
I had a similar experience in the Valentine, oddly enough.
>>
>>25788613
It's camo is pic related, even before you train up a crew with Camo skill. Especially since lights have identical camo values when moving and stationary, while all other tanks are easier to spot. Gives it a higher "effective" view range because the enemy has to get closer to spot you.
>>
I found getting desert camo helped my scouting a lot. I mean it's hard to bush babby when there are no bushes, but now that camo paint stacks with camo net even the little tiny bushes do okay.
>>
>>25788613
That's every on-tier match in my Matilda. A thing of beauty she is, bounces damn near everything.
>>
>>25788879
I dunno. I can get through the matilda in my T-28 if I flank it or aim for the turret rung, but the rubber duck? I need to hit that thing right in the viewport to have even a hope of dealing any damage.

Times like this make me glad my Tiger can usually either penetrate anything or at least aim well enough to hit a weak point.

I've had a few times where I got into brawls with Lowe or Tiger II's and, by some miracle, come out on top because damned if all later-model German tanks don't have the same weakpoint, and I keep running into people who don't bring a fire extinguisher,
