Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to another edition of Succubus Lord Quest! I was going to do a thread on monday, but that was before my house flooded followed by the water shutting down in the entire house.

Last time on Succubus Lord Quest, we managed to successfully change the twins into Gemelli Succubi over a dinner which Queen Janine went *way* over the deep end. After sharing some of our aether with the twins, we escorted them back to Fort Hope then went to a bar to feed, feeding on a barmaiden and accidently draining a little too much, so we brought her home like a gentlemen. After heading out to pick up Mina before visiting the twins and seeing that she had shapeshifted into us for giggles. After snacking on Mina, we set out to see the twins once again!

“I hope the girls are doing well.” you say to Mina as you enter the Red Fox Inn.

“Why wouldn’t they be?” Mina asks you.

“Well it just seems lately that every day has their own little disaster.” you reply to Mina. “I can understand there’s work to be done, but still taking a small break to maintain my sanity is also nice and welcome.”

“”Oh yes! Having small breaks for everything is something that is absolutely needed!” Mina says as you climb the stairs. “Even I often took breaks when training all the time!”

“Thank goodness for the bath house. If it wasn’t for their hot baths I would’ve gone insane by now.” you say as you reach to knock on the twins room.

Just as you go to knock, the door flies open, with Katlin yanking both you and Mina in. It appears she underestimated her own strength, as you fly through the air, skipping off one bed landing on the other. Mina however appears to do a graceful somersault through the air and lands gracefully on a bed corner pole.

“Ow! Katlin! What the hell!?” you complain as you slowly try to get back up.

“SSSHHH!” Katlin says putting her lips to her mouth before pointing over towards her sister.
>>
[2/2]

Looking over, you can see Stacy currently crying in her hands.

“...Stacy? What’s wrong?” you ask her.

“...Uh... Brooklyn?” Mina says in a hushed whisper pointing down.

Looking down on the floor, you can see the shriveled remains of what appears to be the mummified remains of a male worker from the Red Fox Inn lying on the floor from your upside down advantage point. You know this from experience, the main being completely drained.

“...Oh...” you mutter to yourself.

“I-I-It was all an a-a-accident! I swear!” Stacy says sobbing. “W-W-We could sleep... S-S-”

Stacy appears to have difficulty saying things as she’s most likely stricken by horror at this point. You’re having trouble hearing both her extremely low volume whispers while she sobs.

(Stacy's sheet isn't done, mainly as I was lucky to get Katlin due to the water issue)
>>
>>25800642
Oh damnit, this is my fault. I should have insisted on Bandits... but I wanted to spare you that. And instead I made it worst.

Hug them both.
>>
>>25800713
any ideas on how to go about this, i'm drawing up blanks.
>>
>>25800642
start with >>25800713

Then we should try to teach them evidence removal. Fire is a very efficient way of removing evidence. Ashes are easier to hide than a body.
>>
>>25800771
I'm not letting her fire control the body, is there a fireplace in the room?

If so cut the body with darkness throw on fire, the get her to make the flames more intense if the bones aren't burning.

if not use darkness to pulverize body to fine dust sologram a handbag and get outside and hide the remains under some snow or somthing.
>>
>>25800642
Damn it, I suggested last time to get them food before taking them to bed, and look where not doing so got us.

Okay, damage control time. There are two things we need to do, comfort them and get rid of the body.

First, make sure the door is closed, we don't want anyone peeking in.

Then pull them both into a hug, spread out wings and wrap it around them so they are more enclosed. "It's alright, I know it was a mistake, it wasn't your fault, it was my fault, I should have kept a closer eye on you, I should have paid more attention.

It'll all be alright, okay, everything will be fine. I know you didn't mean to do this."

For body disposal I don't think having the twins take part in it would be good, they already feel terrible from killing him, I don't think having to set a corpse on fire and let it burn would be good for their mental well-being. For disposing on it we can just take the body, put it in a sealed box of Darkness, squish it into dust, and we can use lasers from Light Control to take out any remaining traces while keeping it in the sealed Darkness Box.
>>
You give a small sigh to yourself as you turn over onto your stomach and look at the body a bit more closely. “I probably should’ve insisted on the bandits after all...”

“I’msorryI’msorryI’msorryI’msorry!” Stacy says as she continues to sob into her hands.

“Ssshhh... Don’t... It’s my fault. I shouldn’t been keeping a closer eye on you both.” you say sitting up and giving Stacy a hug.

“Yes... I had the same thing happen to me once before. Just take some deep breaths for now, as panicking will get you nowhere.” Mina says as she also gives Stacy a hug.

“What are we going to with the body!?” Katlin asks in a strained whisper.

You look over to the pot belly stove in the room. You could fit most of the body in there, but not all of it.

“Hm... Katlin, can you control your fire any better?” you ask her.

“A bit. I can start fires in locations no where close to me. I haven’t really tried controlling them yet as I don’t know a good location for that.” Katlin replies, before an expression comes across her face. “Wait, you don’t mean-”

“Yes, we try to incinerate his remains. Ashes are a lot easier to transport than a body.” you reply.

“What about Brodin? Doesn’t he excel in this sort of thing?” Mina asks.

“Brodin wouldn’t be able to stand at this point.” you reply to Mina.

“But his injuries should’ve been healed by now!” Mina replies.

“...Who said anything about his injuries? At this point in the day he should be in an alcohol induced coma.” you reply to Mina.

Should she does have a point. Brodin’s ability to dispose of a body without any evidence on it could be useful. But there’s an issue of getting a dead body halfway across town in the early morning where people are out and about. You wonder if there are any other possible options.
>>
>>25801105
Hmm, I don't suppose we could we could either send the body into the abyss via darkness control (yeah, didn't think it worked that way)? We could cloak the body (and Mina carrying it) and just walk out with it,
>>
>>25801105
Okay, possibly clever plan. We can wrap the body in a thin layer of darkness stuff, and use that to make it walk like a normal person, then we use our Light Control to put an illusion on some random dude on top of that so it just looks like a person walking, we march it over to near Brodin's location, have Mina drag him outside, and tell him to dispose of it.
>>
>>25801239
>either consume the body via darkness or atomize it via light (using a darkness bubble to shield us, our friends and the building, from any adverse effects)
Whoops, got lost somehow...
>>
>>25801105

well, we could always use a tiny verson of darkness spike graveyard to turn it into little meaty chunks....
>>
>>25801346
Not seeing how that helps keep this low key. We're trying to minimize the mess and trauma to the twins.
>>
>>25801346
I am sure covering them in Dragon Age blood and gore will not help. Some sort of magical disposal within the room or disguise to carry it out like Weekend at Bernie's.
>>
>>25801105
We could shield the area around the body with a bubble of darkness magic, the same kind we use to shield us defensively. Then have Katlin burn the body. minimal collateral damage.
>>
>>25801284

At this point I'm wondering if I should give another suggestion or go with what this anon said. The only thing that I'm worried about is that giving too many suggestions would make me fear I'm babying people too much/railroad.
>>
>>25801668
Do this
>>25801346
Then this
And then burn it without looking inside
>>
>>25801105
Can we get a time line for this? I mean, how long has the guy been missing? That might limit our options.
>>
>>25801668
This works
>>25801731
Figuring out how long this guy has been dead and what happened will be needed to finish cleaning up
>>
>>25801731
True, his absence might have been noticed by now or we might have an hour or two to work with before acting if he was off duty when Stacy drained him.
>>
>>25801668
Would that require air flow to keep the fire going?
>>
[1/2]

“OK, I got an idea, but we need to know some information. How long as he been dead?” you ask.

“About two hours. We were practicing our... abilities since we couldn’t sleep. We accidently knocked over a pot and one of the staff came to check on us. Stacy... felt a little hungry so she thought she could take just a little bit of his aether...” Katlin says while avoiding your gaze.

“Good, it means no one will be after him for a little bit longer at least.” you reply.

“I’msosorry!” Stacy says once again sobbing into her hands.

“Ssshhh... Don’t worry... It happens to all of our kind...” Mina says giving her a pat on her back.

You summon up some darkness to come and envelop the dead body, making what appears to be a darkness coffin for the man. You give it some extra reinforcement so you’re sure it can stand up to the next phase of your plan.

“Katlin, how are your aether reserves?” you ask her.

“A little less than last night, but I mainly avoided doing the same things that drained my sister. Why?” she asks you.

You stand the coffin upright, slithering it over to Katlin while another darkness tentacle acts a pipe, going into the potbelly stove and up into the smokestack pipe. “We’re going to cremate it.”

“Eh!?” Katlin says with a gasp. “But what if I burn down the hotel!?”

“We don’t have much of a choice.” you tell her as you open a small hole in the coffin for her. “Transporting ashes around is a hell of a lot easier than moving a body. Besides you should be able to incinerate what’s inside of this darkness coffin. Just concentrate the best as you can, focusing the aether through your hands and into the coffin. After that increase the temperature of the fire.” You figure this should be possible given what Uilodsir can do.
>>
[2/2]

Katlin swallows as she holds out her hands to the coffin.. “I-I’ll try...”

Katlin begins by taking a few deep breaths, trying to calm her nerves before she begins to concentrate. A stream of fire seems to come out of her hands and into the coffin itself. You can feel the heat in the coffin as the fire burns. After a few seconds, Katlin stops her flamethrower attack, but a few small sparks of fire fall down off her hands and onto the floor.

“Oh no!” she mutters as she looks at the sparks.

“Don’t worry, I got it.” you say using some water control to increase the moisture around her feet to dampen out the sparks. You make a small window with your light control. “Now increase the temperature to burst Katlin.”

Katlin gives another nod as she begins to furrow her brow, rapidly increasing the temperature inside of the shadow coffin. You’re surprised at how hot it becomes, feeling the heat even standing about a foot away from the coffin with your level of shadow control. The body burns soundlessly, the only other sounds in the room being Mina comforting Stacy as she continues to cry on the bed.

The immolation continues for about 15 minutes before you finally decide enough is enough. You don’t dare open the coffin, but rather vent out the gasses then compress the darkness tentacle to see how it went. The darkness coffin shrinks down to the point where it is a bit less than Mina’s duffle bag. You figure all the flesh is completely gone, but the bones probably still remain.

You now wonder what your next step in this shall be.
>>
>>25802170

If Katlin is fueling the fire, no. Fire Control can remove the need of a fire to need fuel.
>>
>>25802258

can we create a solidogram bag, empty the remains into it, and take it with us to feed the twins? we can dump it near the bandit camp...
>>
>>25802258
Pulverize the bones into dust, should be easy for us, find some container/bag to put them in for future disposal. But as they are they will resemble dust, it'd take some serious work to identify what they are. Don't breathe in the dust, bone dust isn't good for your lungs.
>>
>>25802350
Adding to my post.

After we get the bone crushed into a fine powder and stored we aren't in a big hurry to dispose of it, we can just put the bag under a bed or something and focus entirely on comforting Stacy.

Just give her a hug and let her cry it all out, don't rush her.
>>
>>25802258
Would earth control include remolding bone?
>>
Oh yes, Brooklyn gained +50 DP for the milestone of transforming the twins
>>
>>25802258
We HAVE to be more careful with any succubus we convert. Having extra aether before-hand will be a must. Impressing that feeding without practice will most likely result in a dead body could help, but mainly I think we'll need to do some careful thinking, looking over what the Queens have suggested, what we've experienced that could have gone better, and Mina's advice.

We need to comfort the Twins, teach them how to control their feeding, and possibly take them to a quiet area like the Hot Springs and perform a play there so everyone can get some Aether.
>>
You decide to try and keep crushing the bag as much as you can until all of the bones inside are also splinters. It is hard to do so, and there are a few winces from the twins faces as you continue crunching down the bones inside. At the end you managed to keep the remains in what appears to be a backpack sized container. You could open the shadow ball to see what is inside, but human remains are somewhat bad on the lungs.

“There... Small as I could get it.” you say holding the shadow ball.

“Oh... It’s all my fault.” Stacy says wiping away some tears. Having stopped crying but still very distressed about this sort of thing. “I-I was so hungry and that... that clerk looked so.... so...”

“Delicous? It happens to us when we get really hungry yea. What happened here is a tragedy yes, but in all honesty it is something that probably happens at least once in every Succubus’s life.” Mina says.

“Hm...” you say looking at the shadow ball. You make a soligram out of backpack and stuff the darkness ball full of remains inside of the backpack. “...Hm... Fits more neatly than I thought...”

The backpack is a bit heavy, but you’re confident you can hold the soligram without any remains leaking out or the darkness mixing with the light to cause an explosion.
>>
>>25803062
Would we need to be around the backpack to maintain it, or could we just hand it to Mina and ask her to dispose of it while we comfort the twins?
>>
>>25803107

You'd need to be around the bag. However with your level of darkness control, you can maintain your darkness constructs without line of sight.
>>
>>25803062
"It happens Stacy, people make mistakes, it wasn't your fault. And the fact that this weighs on you proves that you are the same person you used to be.

It is not a good thing, but it has taught you something, and we can avoid this happening again in the future."

Spend a bit more time with the two of them, once we think they'll be alright leave them with Mina for now and find somewhere to dispose of the bones, after that we'll go out together to the park or something, get them some fresh air.
>>
>>25803062

"Well, Consider this lesson 1. It is very easy to accidentally drain all of a mortals aether."
"Now, since you have inadvertently learnt that lesson, on to what I was going to do with you yesterday... Getting you both a Full Meal."
"I assume that neither of you have any qualms with what we will be doing? If so, speak now, otherwise, Onward to Adventure!"
>>
>>25803201
Entirely the wrong attitude
>>
"It happens Stacy, people make mistakes, it wasn't your fault. And the fact that this weighs on you proves that you are the same person you used to be.” you say walking up to Stacy and giving her a pat on the back before you then shapeshift a disposable red hair with freckles disguise and put on your backpack. “It is not a good thing, but it has taught you something, and we can avoid this happening again in the future."

“So what are you going to do Lady Brooklyn?” Katlin asks you.

“Dispose of the evidence.” you reply. “Mina, stay here with the girls until I return. I have to remain in a line of sight for my soligrams, and I don’t want the back vanishing while I’m away.”

“Sure thing!” Mina happily replies. “Itterasshai!”

“Have a save trip.” Katlin says with a hint of worry in her voice.

“I’m so sorry...” Stacy says with a hick.

“Relax, don’t worry about. Everything will be fine.” you say reassuring her before leaving the room.

Now you begin to wonder how to dispose of the body and where to dispose it too...
>>
>>25803607
Outside of the city. The blizzards keep many secrets
>>
>>25803607
Okay, we've got a pile of bone. There are a few possibilities, we can drop it outside of town in the blizzard, won't raise any flags there.

If we don't want to go outside the walls we can find some garden or place with plants, preferably out of sight, dig under it with shadows, and deposit the bones under it. We can just sit there with our backpack on the ground, have a shadow tentacle under us reach underground and get us some space, and undo the bottom of the backpack so we can funnel the bonemeal into the soil evenly. It'll break down and actually act as good fertilizer.

If it isn't dug up soon it'll never be found, and if it is dug up it'll look like evenly spread white powder and not be connected to us.
>>
>>25803607

Is the destroyed area still destroyed? if so, then we can deposit the remains underneith some heavy rubble... make it look like another victim of the old lords madness...
>>
>>25803645
The wrecks of our old accommodation. The ash will simply blow away in the wind, and the bone fragments could be any poor soul trapped inside when it was attacked.
>>
>>25803736

Yea the wrecked area is still there. In the middle of heavy cleanup though.
>>
>>25803751
Not our actual old house. Too suspicious. But somewhere in the destroyed area might work, unless the rubble's all been cleared.
>>
>>25803607
Brodin and Brodin.
>>
>>25803778
Off the table then. Is there a waste disposal site? Might be harder to get to but much easier to hide the ash and bone fragments in.
>>
>>25803778
Let's take it to Brodin, then, see if there's anything he can do. If he's awake. If not, go invisible, dump it outside the walls.
>>
You decide the best course of action would be to head out and dispose of it outside the city. God only knows what those snow drifts hide, and you figure one extra body added to the mix shouldn’t be that harmful overall.

You exit Fort Hope and spend a good distance walking away from the fort until you’re away from the archer guards positioned on the Fort Hope walls. After that, you use your darkness tentacles to dig a hole into the ground and place your darkness orb down deep into the snow, just on top where the soil lies. After that quick and painless procedure, you make your way back to Fort Hope feeling all the better than you disposed of the twins dirty accident in only about an hour.

“I’m back.” you say entering the twins room while shape shifting back into your normal form.

“...Is it?” Stacy asks you, looking at you with eyes only possible after one has cried for hours.

“The frozen wastes hold many secrets, so don’t worry.” you tell the twins.

“Oh my word I feel so awful about this...” Stacy says burrowing her hands into her face again.

“Look relax! It’s something that happens to virtually every Succubi!” Mina says.

“Something that happens to every Succubi!? I j-” Stacy stops her raised voice, lowering it back down into a whisper. “I accidently just killed an innocent man! Don’t places have laws against that sort of thing!?”

“Didn’t you tell me that demons often didn’t get in trouble for such a thing?” Katlin asks her.

“Yes, but we’re Succubi! Such laws really only apply to those on the Pride Demon’s good side! Not only that, but if the Queen’s find out about such a thing...” Stacy says as she begins to hyperventilate.

You’re fairly certain the Queen’s won’t care. ...In fact Purple and Janine won’t even bat an eyelash given how some of the Queen’s hinted at such a thing. Still, some words of encouragement maybe somewhere else to go to could help them?
>>
>>25804516
"Stacy, calm down sweetheart, no one is going to find out, and the Queens would understand. They've all been through the same sort of thing you have, they've all made mistakes, and they've all had to make tough decisions, they'd understand and wouldn't blame you or do anything against you.

Let's get you some fresh air Stacy, it's nice outside today and you could use some sunshine. We'll go to the park, maybe me and Mina can put on our shadow puppet show for the kids like we've done before, does that sound fun?"
>>
>>25804516

I'm the one that fucked up, not you. I should have made sure that you two had enough to eat before even thinking of taking my eyes off you. You didn't do anything wrong, I did, and I have no doubt that the Queens would agree with me. Now what we need to do, and what I brought Mina to help with, is to train you two how to feed properly so that this doesn't happen again.

*give Stacy a hug*

I'm so sorry that this happened to you. Please let me do my best to make this right and make sure that this doesn't happen again.
>>
>>25804516

"As Mina said, Every Succubus has gone though it. Even the Queens... In-fact, I know of a way for you to learn how to control your draining, And to test out your abilities..."

We really should let her know that we were the one who screwed up here. We should have made sure they were fully fed. And remind her that it would be a worse sign if she didn't feel guilty.
>>
>>25804516
Reassure her about secrecy, perhaps arrange for Oksana to talk to her about this sort of thing? She might be more sympathetic, not being born a succubus.

"Stacy, calm down sweetheart, no one is going to find out, and the Queens would understand. They've all been through the same sort of thing you have, they've all made mistakes, and they've all had to make tough decisions, they'd understand and wouldn't blame you or do anything against you.” you tell Stacy.

Stacy still looks a bit unsure and down in the dumps.

“Let's get you some fresh air Stacy, it's nice outside today and you could use some sunshine. We'll go to the park, maybe me and Mina can put on our shadow puppet show for the kids like we've done before, does that sound fun?" you ask.

“Sure... We’d rather somewhere a bit more... quiet though...” Stacy replies.

“We were up all night because we could hear our own heartbeats inside of our ears...” Katlin mutters.

“Hm... Mina, do you know of any way to help the twins get used to this?” you ask her.

Mina simply shrugs. “All of the Gemelli I met are usually well past this stage. The youngest Gemelli pair I’ve ever met besides these two girls were only about a year past their power awakening. I gave Katlin some tips on getting used to her new strength, but I’m not sure how Gemelli address the enhanced senses they feel.”

“...I liked that nightgown too...” Katlin pouts, probably remembering something she tore in half the night before.
>>
>>25805118
clearly we must acquire earmuffs and sunglasses.
>>
>>25805191
Good idea...

"Well, we have two main options for feeding. Option 1; Ambient Emotions. This intails going somewhere where emotions are raised. This could be a play, a sporting event, and most areas people gather in large numbers. Option 2; Direct Feeding. This is the quickest and potentially quietest option. It intails cleaning out another bandit camp. Now, me and Mina could clear it out, tie up the bandits then bring you two in, or we could all go and clear it out together."
"I offer you the choice, though do keep in mind that the best way to learn how to control your draining abilities, is though practice, and I doubt anyone will miss the bandits...
>>
>>25805191
Boobs as earmuffs not a good idea. Blindfolds and earplugs using candle wax?
>>
>>25805191
They just have to get used to it. If they wear sunglasses and earmuffs they'll never adjust to being more sensitive and they'll have to keep wearing them forever.
>>
>>25805436

it is only for going out, once they can actually Sleep properly, then they don't wear them anymore...
We are trying to gently transition them, not throw them in the deep end making lots of noise and bright lights...
>>
yeah
>>
>>25805471
So a rave is right out?
>>
>>25805496

...What's this in context to?
>>
>>25805750
Maybe
>>
“Hm.... We have two choices ahead of ourselves.” you tell the twins. “First is that we can go teach you how to feed on ambient emotions. All that involves is finding a large crowd and just feeding on them. The other, more direction, option is that we simply find some bandits for you to feed on, since nobody but the mercenary companies miss them anyways.”

“...Lady Brooklyn, the main things we want to do right now is sleep...” Katlin mutters.

“We thank you for trying to feed us, and help solve my... accident... Katlin and I are exhausted.” Stacy replies.

“Katlin has increased Demonic vitality, so she can get by on less sleep. Still, you do need SOME sleep at least. ...Unless you’re an Aide that is.” Mina says.

“...Aides don’t sleep?” you ask Mina.

“My mentor never slept for 11 years once.” Mina replies.

“I’m envious.” Katlin yawns.

“We promise we won’t eat anyone else Lady Brooklyn. Hell we’ll only eat on emotions until your next lesson, I promise! But more than anything we’d just like a place that is deathly silent for our rest...” Stacy replies.

“When we get back to Old TO, first thing I’m doing is finding a pair of Gemelli and ask how they cope with this...” Katlin mutters.

Mina could do that right here, though.

“Hm... I think the bathhouse would be a good location for such a thing.” you tell the twins.

“But that place is loud!” they both protest.

“Not so much in the private rooms!” you reply. “Besides, if you can still hear things I can just layer darkness bubbles on top of one another until you won’t be able to hear a thing.”

“Make sure to let air through!” Mina says.

“Naturally.” you reply to Mina. “Come on now, time to head over to the bathhouse.”

******

After putting some soligram earmuffs on the twins due to the noise complete with darkness shades over their eyes to help guard them against the bright sunlight. It is a good call too, as the bathhouse seems absolutely packed today.

Looking at the counter, you can see that Amanda isn’t behind the counter. It is around lunchtime, so she could very well be on her lunchbreak. You could try to get her, or just say screw it and try to get the twins a private room.
>>

You decide just to get a private bath house instead of bothering Amanda for the moment.

“Aaahhh... Peace and quiet...” you sigh sinking into the hot private bath.

“Are... you sure those two are OK in there?” Mina asks pointing out to the darkness cocoon the twins are sharing.

“When I wrapped them in they were sleeping like babies. Only think I had to do was make sure they could hold each others hands.” you reply to Mina.

“Oh yea! I heard that Gemelli who often sleep together do that unconsciously!” Mina replies. “But you were right on with the emergency thing!”

“I’m not sure whenever to be glad or worried that I’m getting used to events like this.” you reply to Mina. “At times like this so I’m damn glad the Richardson bath house exists even if they are a bunch of ruthless businessmen...”

“Amen to that. Hot springs are a big part of my own culture too!” Mina happily replies.

A few seconds goes by with just you and Mina relaxing. You take a glass of wine from the floating try that drifts in front of you.

“So... What’s next for us then?” Mina asks you.

“Oh! Making a base should be somewhat easier! Stacy knows Earth Control!” Mina says.

“...Oh?” you ask Mina.

“Yea! We were talking about when you left!” Mina says.

“That’s... actually fairly useful. According to what Amanda told me, Earth control was basically used to smooth out a wide, open path down into the Langy hot spring area.” you say.

“...So long as she doesn’t end up like those other Earth Control users who have nearly EVERYTHING made out of gold or silver or some other rare metal.” Mina replies.

“Jealous?” you ask Mina.

“No! It becomes tacky and precious metals and gemstones lose nearly all meaning if they can just be made on the fly! I may not know math that well, but I know that!” Mina replies.

Mina just smiles as she uses her hand to rub your head. “There there... Don’t worry about it. For now just go ahead and get some well earned rest.”

You certainly don’t waste time on that offer. While you don’t go asleep, the ability to just shut off your brain and let your body relax is extremely relaxing in of itself.

“Ah... We really needed that...” Katlin says yawning as she wakes back up.

“Yes... We really did...” Stacy says stretching. “Though knowing our luck we probably won’t be able to get sleep for the next few weeks...”

“Few weeks?” you ask.

“Yes. Father is leaving tomorrow. He only stayed behind in order to process more orders.” Stacy replies. "We were thinking of trying to get in touch with other Succubi when we did arrive back in Old TO though."

“Hm... The issue is that it is expensive to hold father back for long.” Stacy tells you as she puts on her dress bottom. “The issue isn’t about money, but rather competition and trust of those who trade with him. If you wait too long, fathers trading rivals may get a foothold. Even moreso after the disaster we had with the bandits some time ago.”

“Father has always had a case of wanderlust didn’t he?” Katlin asks. “Yes, he probably won’t stay more than a few weeks even if asked.”

“Oh good idea! Father’s worries should be mostly put at ease with us staying inside of a castle!” Katlin says.

“Yes, and the chance to snap up contracts from the Langy Royal Family itself would be big.” Stacy adds. “Including anything you’d like too Lady Brooklyn.”

I'm all for this plan, be standard Brooklyn, officially meet the father and discuss some magic books he might be able to procure for us.

We can say that we have learned he has contacts which could aquire such tomes and that we could pay for them. We could then also offer for the girls to stay here to barter for contracts in the nobility as they proposed.
>>
[1/2]

(We’ll go for a quick narration here, as I feel we’ve dragged our feet long enough for this)

"Well, if your father would approve, that's an excellent plan. I can probably ask Lady Marina Langly if there's anything the town needs in terms of supplies, trading contracts and so on. She might appreciate meeting the two of you, too." you tell the girls.

“Oh? The town leader is a Succubus?” Stacy asks, curious herself.

“Yes. A Laminian. You may get along with her, as you two certainly have some things in common.” you tell her. “So let’s go ahead and get things set up, shall we?”

“Of course! We’ll head to father and tell him of the good news!” Katlin says.

******

After that you split up to go your own ways. Mina thanks you for the time out, but more than anything else you thank her for handling the twins and helping with the emergency. After that you head on over back to the castle, getting a quick word to Ada about the two news Succubi in town, their need for training, and that they’ll hardly be dead weight with the authority to make contracts in their father’s name.

Ada agrees to these terms so long as the twins keep the hell away from the Pride Demon inspectors that may be coming soon. Even if they are mortal she doesn’t want to take any sort of chances. Ada arranges a room for them, but warns that unless they’re blood relatives of a Langy member, the Royal Guard will not follow them around town. They’ll need mercenaries for that. While there is little chance of the twins being threatened by townsfolk, the issue of identity remains.
>>
[2/2]

Elgar himself is quite reluctant to let his daughters go, but given that the girls do have a point about snapping up contracts from rival traders and that his daughters will have the best protection in town for them, he agrees to let them stay in the castle while he heads back to Old TO. The twins tell you while he is able to fetch things for you, for a fair price of course, getting spellbooks may be difficult for him and quite expensive. The Greed Demons have banned mortal merchants from trading magical tombs, and any magical tomb a mortal requires must immediately be passed to the Pride Demons or the Greed Demons. He did bent the rules for you as Miranda, but that was a big risk. Mortals often ignore this and still trade anyways in the black market, but it is often difficult and quite expensive, even for your allowance. The other things he does offer though is bulk ingredients for common and uncommon alchemy or spell components.

You wonder what you should get using Elgar's services. Asking him as Miranda for another spell book might work, but it is somewhat dangerous and expensive on his end.

You decide to put the books on hold for the time being, figuring that you probably need some time to put a dent in the Langy library first. So you just put in an order for bulk alchemy and magical ritual ingredients. You do mention your good old Doctor friend, but it appears that he already has that handled. In thanks, you craft a simple good lucky charm for Elgar.

After getting the twins settled in, it is about 6:30 PM and the sun is already beginning to set. You simply collaspe back in your study chair.

“How are you feeling Lady Brooklyn?” Linda asks you.

“...Exhausted...” you reply after your full workday. You mind now drifting of what you want to do next...

(OK, good news is that now you have some downtime to do some things you want to do. About a week or two. Ada will handle the Paladin issue so long as you curse a few weapons. But in the meantime I’ll need to cut the thread here for today as I have a flight soon. Apologies I thought I’d have a thread up earlier in the week, but the problems with my house flooding compliated those matters. No dp spending for now, we'll save it for Light Great!

Plans:
1. Train train train. Train the twins, using our soligrams as sparing dummies. Also allows us to increase our light control at the same time.
2. Do that ball politics thingy. Yay politics.
3. Feed the bandits to the queen.
4. continue teaching the noble girls.
>>
>>25817202
Start considering better ways to gain Aether. Training ALWAYS leaves us low. Obviously interacting is better then being a wall-flower. Test out puppet shows vs. plays vs. singing at the Admant Door.

Do some fun things with Mina. Maybe ask her out on a d-d-d-date...I mean if she really wants to.

I think that the paladin might be worth a bit of attention from us, beyond just cursing. If there's anything else we can do to make sure that he dies in the way we need him to (we need to make sure that he seems like a legitimate-enough threat for them to HAVE to kill, instead of just knocking him out and taking him back because he's even more of a curiousity).
>>
Hey everyone! While I’m busy cleaning up before moving out of my room for the next two, I can answer some questions.

>>25819897

After Brooklyn spending some time studying, he learns that one very obvious way to regain aether would be to take the natural lay lines of land and engage in some geo-engineering to rearrange them so that they’re meet and make an ‘Alignment’. Alignments are places where large magical energies are made into a small area, and by themselves usually pretty hazardous for long term stay as the magic energies are poisonous. But if special care of the land is considered, one can cap an Alignment with a “Keep”, which tames the Alignment energies. The owner of the keep can tap into the energies the alignment gives off, vastly increasing the speed of which one regenerates aether. In addition, the Alignment can also fortify the Keep, which is basically where all the old lore for mysterious Wizard towers being in odd places or indestructible castles.

Bad news is, you need to be trained in geo-engineering in order to do any of this. Second is that the the Keep will depend on the Lay Lines remaining the same. If the flow isn’t kept properly, it may overflow and cause geo-resonance feed. While certainly not a nuclear bomb, it will obliterate the Keep and most likely everything several blocks around it.

The good news is, ANYONE can make an Alignment or Keep, even completely normal mortals! Earth control certainly does help, but it is not needed.

>>
>>25822195
Most likely we'll need a keep for continued experimentation. Aether costs for going from Good -> Great and beyond will exceed what we can easily gain from entertaining the populace.

The Library might have a few things, Old TO may also, and we should ask Oksana about any techniques she could suggest (she seems like she wants us to grow under our own paradigm, so we should keep our questions towards her simple then do some experimentation ourselves).
>>
>>25822195
...what would happen if instead of capping an Alignment with a Keep, we fed the energy directly into the Queens' prison? Not suggesting we make the attempt (yet), but depending on how much energy they need to be able to defend themselves once we break 'em out we might want to set up a passive feeding mechanism for them at some point. Also, how obvious would this thing be to other demons and magic users?

>>
>>25822634
Pretty sure the possibility was accounted for. But yeah, if we're planning to force fed them more than three leylines I think we should expect the inevitable continent shattering blast (probably an exaggeration) to be the mechanism by which we crack the prison open.
>>
>>25822557

Absolutely nothing is stopping you from making an Alignment or Keep to the Queen's Prison.

Thing is the Ley Lines leading to a prison can be tracked with Aura sight. Work can be put into making them hidden, but there is a chance someone could find the ley lines to the Alignment.
>>
>>25822784
Good to know. One last question (sorry since I know this will be out of our reach for quite some time). If we established a metaspatial connection to several leylines could we use Space Control to create an artificial Alignment powered by the leylines it is syphoning into an unconnected Keep? Again, I don't expect us to be able to do anything like that before we've successfully conquered Earth, I just have some ideas for phase two of the game.
>>
>>25822890

Could you explain your example more clearly? Not sure I get what you're trying to explain.
>>
>>25823066
I think he means form a keep and then use space control to shunt the power somewhere else.
>>
>>25823066
think he wants to use space control to create an artificial lay line overlap or to change the energy elsewhere making it harder to find or something
>>
>>25823066

As far as I can tell: LEYLINE PORTALS, SO WE CAN MESS WITH PEOPLE TRYING TO TRACE THE POWER.
>>
>>25823134

You could use space control to cause some dickery yes. Such as a permanent Labyrinth that people need to go in just the right way to access or it being in a completely different dimension. But even if you could use portals to shunt the energy elsewhere, they could use the portals to attempt to pinpoint where you are.

Plus there is the issue of someone using countermagic on your portal laylines to instantly mess up your geomancy and possibly cause feedback. Normally it takes a bit more deliberate effort (Such as rerouting a magma river for a Fire aspect layline or cutting down a forest for a Forest Layline)
>>
>>25823274

another idea, could we set up a production facility in the Keep to produce the liquid aether from the Alignment? That would be easier to transport without tracking...
>>
>>25823066
Fair enough. Ok, instead of physically redirecting two or more leylines to produce an Alignment could we, with sufficient personal knowledge of the leylines in question, use Space Control to A) collect power from a distant leyline either for immediate use or longer term storage in some battery like device, or B) modify existing key lines so they have a discontinuous (to the untrained observer) sections. I'm 90% sure I'm going to fail to explain my idea for B properly, but please bear with me. We can use Space Control (SC) to teleport and interact with things at a distance right, could we use it to create a set of gates within and powered by a leyline such that the leyline ends up with a bounded (by said gates) segment no longer in the same geographical region as the rest of it? Think, for want of a better metaphor, of the game Portals. Stick one portal across the mouth of a river and move the flow of water to an irrigation channel a few miles away, then stick a separate portal at the end of the irrigation chalnnel to port the excess water back to the riverbed an inch after the first portal cut off the flow.

If you somehow made it through that metaphor might I first say that I'm more than a little impressed (I am well aware that I suck at explaining this stuff, again sorry about that) and would like to know if we could build an Alignment through this method, preferably one powered by the leylines it utilizes. If it is possible, aside from the high chance of catastrophic failure, would there be any reason why such an Alignment, and the keep benefitting from it, could not be mobile? Might (or might not) be useful for establishing beachheads during interplanetary conflicts.
>>
>>25823357

[1/2]

A clever trick. It CAN work, but a few things to keep in mind:

1) A single Layline can give power, but it is usually worthless. Think of all the laylines to make an Alignment akin to engine parts. You'd need all the pieces in order to make the engine.

2) An Alignment has aether, but also a bunch of hazardous metaphysical bits with the aether. You won't be harmed short term, hell often it takes living in an hostile Alignment months to notice severe symptoms (Unless your Alignment is hostile by nature, such as being an active volcano). You can collect energy there and alignments certainly do have their uses (Magic casted within an matching Alignment has their power amplified, elements counter to the element have their power decreased), the energy they proceed for feeding your aether pools is poisonous. Only beings who *strongly* match the Alignment element (Usually Elemental spirits/gods) can safely siphon the aether that collects there. Think of a Keep as a water purifier of sorts. It screens out all the bad things the aether collecting at the Alignment has while keeping the good stuff.

3) Keeps can amplify magic of their element within their reach, but what you're suggesting is something like a Grandfather paradox. Yes, using a keep you could open a permanent portal later on, and that portal (or Space Magic) can be used to redirect Lay Lines in ways like portals, but in order to get access to those long term portals you need a Keep or an Alignment in the first place.

4) Keep's are sensitive to Lay Lines. If you mess up their Lay Lines, then some backlash may happen in the Keep, as a new Lay Line is being introduced quickly rather than the ones they're normally used to. You can add new ones, but it also involves remobelling the Keep so it properly accepts the new geomatic arrangement. However, you CAN do things like make a Keep fly or even travel around as if it is a flying Fortress. The only thing to remember is that the original "site" of the Keep is considered the home, and if you fuck up the Lay Lines at the home, then your flying fortress could run out of aether to power itself and come hurdling towards the ground at high speeds. There is also a limit of how far the fortress can fly away from it's 'home' but it still covers a fair distance.

Meaning if you REALLY wanted to, you could make a Keep in Fort Hope and fly the city itself to Old TO. Then decide to put a weapon feature on it so that it shoots lightning at people who fly too close without whistling the correct tune. Also install a safety feature so that during low power the city floats down from the sky to make a gentle landing rather than a straight fall down. Your call.

Thanks Sandact6, that's a much more comprehensive answer than I'd hoped for. If you'd pardon two last questions before I have to call it a night, do leylines have stable points of origin and if so, how bad an idea (interms of volatility and magic radiation) is it to draw power proximal to the source?

1) Laylines can originate from completely harmless places, such as forests or underwater caverns. Amanda's Underground Spring is a PRIME candidate for being a water aspect lay line.

2) From the source? You can't draw it from a Lay Line, and even if it could you generally expend more aether than it takes to extract it and safely convert it. Drawing it from an Alignment directly? It is poisonous akin to if you tried to eat Brodin's aether, only inside of death energy it could be fire energy or worse. (Such as trying to draw Aether from a Fate element Alignment could, at best, cause you to have horrible horrible luck for the next few days.)

Now thinking of using a keep like a Mercury class battle cruiser from battle fleet Gothic. Mercury class ships tend to have warp core implosions when they die. destroying everything around them and sucking them into the warp.

ultimate screw you is that when they finally destroy the flying keep it's violent death destroyed the surrounding army of enemies.

(It's spelled "ley line". No 'a'.)

Another example of a prime spot for a leyline origin is the town where the necromancer ruined everything, and that's also fairly close by.

It's also close by a forest of malignant ghosts.

Clearly they need to get hoovered up by leylines.
