You were a ghost operative of the Terran Dominion, under Emperor Arcturus Mengsk. Your Codename is Delta Phoenix. You received a transmission from Korhal. "The Emperor is Dead. Long live the Emperor. "

That was a very long time ago. Since then you have lost crew members, killed innocent people, and for what? A battlecruiser the size of a moon and a small army?

You lost your suit trying to help Rebels fight the dominion on Kilaro, and you're trapped in the Medbay until you recover. It's up to you to order your men around the planet, alone. You hope you can at least keep some of them alive...

I'm noticing DP grow more and more depressed as we go along...

It's like she knows half of her brain is retarded.

QUICK HENDERSON, JUMP OUT OF THAT AIRLOCK AND FIGHT SOME PIRATES
>>
We go to Mac to talk about the situation surrounding our suit

Before all else we find something to wear inconspicuously before we set out. Before we leave we call Dr.Lee to contact the XO for us and prep a team to the Jakibs installation.

You already decided on your orders. Time to carry them out.

>Send a landing team to the Jakibs installation.

>"Doctor... Page the XO, tell him to dispatch a ground team to the Jakibs installation. They need to find scientists, engineers, anyone that will join us."
>"Sir."

You lay in the bed. Unaware of the deployment. Unaware of the chances of success. Unaware of anything.

The pain isn't the biggest thing. Your conditioning puts you well past it. Not knowing is something you can't stand. You sit up in the bed, You're dressed in typical patient gown. You see a nearby mirror, and decide to inspect the damage.

>How do you look?
>>
>>25852526
If we can't even make decent decisions we can't keep these people alive.

You look into the mirror, past the ghosts of the dead that haunt you. Your eyes are... blue? No, green. Your hair ... blonde... red... No, Brown. You're a brunette.

You're tall. Taller than most men. Lithe. Dextrous. Training does that. You're not very... endowed. Are you? No, that wouldn't make sense.

Are you attractive? You wouldn't know. But Alpha Phoenix, he always said you were... Part of you misses your squad. You wish you could remember... What did he look like?

It doesn't matter. This face doesn't matter. It's not you. It's not what you are. You need your suit.

You hobble over to the comm and page main Engineering.

You can't do much in your current state, but you're still in command, and it's still your ship. You need... Your Adjutant. You hit the Comm again.

>"Doctor. Bring me a hazardous environment suit."
>"Planning on going on a spacewalk in that condition, sir?"
>"No. I just - Just bring me the suit."

You go back to the bed and wait, eventually a nurse enters the room and brings you the suit. It's full-bodied and will hide your face, but it's nothing compared to your old one. You don it, and slowly limp your way to the bridge.

You walk past several marines, who offer a brief "Sir" and salute. Barney watches you pass, solemnly, as if he feels somehow responsible for your condition. You make it to the bridge, then reach your Adjutant's platform.

>"Do you require assistance, Delta Phoenix?"

Not knowing is terrible. You decide to head to main engineering. Odds are you know more about it than anyone else on board. As you approach main engineering you pick up speed, less worried about your physical wounds and more worried about the suit.

You open the door and step through. One of the fabrication tables has your suit spread out on it, and Mac is standing over it scratching his head, oblivious to your presence.

The suit's been ripped and repaired in more places than you count. The backpack is misshapen, it likely took the blunt force of the blast and saved your life. The entire right arm had to be reattached at the shoulder. Burns cover the once-shiny surface. The front mask's left eye is cracked down the middle in three ways, dead and lifeless without the light you know it once had. You reach out a hand to touch one of the damaged legs, and Mac lets out a startled, girlish scream. You glance at him briefly, before looking back to the suit.

>"I'll be honest with you, sir. This thing is... it's well ahead of anything I can do."
>"It's more than a thing, Mac."
>"... Sorry?"
>"Nothing, just... Do what you can. I'll see what I can do."

You leave the engineering bay and head down a hall. It doesn't matter which one.

You stare intently at the ground, trying to piece together the parts of your psyche that you can. You remember your dreams, your... possible memories. The longer you stare the more you wish you were just an automaton.

You bump into Henderson who, unlike the rest of your crew, upon noticing you wandering aimlessly stepped in -front- of you.

>"You look like a tall order of crap, Buddy. Need a drink?"

>"I have work to do."

>"I'll probably need a couple."
>"That's the spirit, Buddy!"

Henderson places one large, burly arm over your shoulder and begins to navigate the both of you to the Bar. He talks as he does, but you don't quite have the strength to respond.

>"Y'know when I heard what you did - took control of a 'viking' to shoot down Dominion boys - I couldn't believe it. That took gumption I did not think you had. Regular steel grit. The rebels planetside are hailing you as a livin' Martyr, you know that? The purple ghost, terror of the Dominion, captain of the Daluke!"

Henderson moves his arm in a grandiose motion, signalling the importance of such a title.

>"Why I feel like these people're going to like you more than they like me at this rate."

He pushes open the Bar door, and sits you both down at a table next to a head-down Mia and a bunch of empty bottles.

>"Fuggoff."
>"Now is that any way ta' speak ta' yer commandin' officer an' the love of your life?"
>"Fuggoff, hunk. Fuggoff, sir."
>"There's tha' level of mutual admiration an' respect I deserve!"

Henderson puts a strong drink drink in front of you.
>"Somethin' soft for the lady."

You realize you'll have to remove your suit's current mask to drink.

That was how I felt at first, but between the lucky race roll (couldn't be helped admittedly), the way he keeps being described as a huge badass after missions or when Adjutant mentioned his background, the way he's conveniently just right for Mia and gets a waifu immediately, I just find him annoing now. >"Status report, XO."

There's a single resoc tank in a laboratory setting. You recognize a few of your marines at the front. The resoc tank looks to have a larger number of cables and diodes than usual. Your Helldog squad leader comes on voice. It's likely his cam you're looking through.

>"Sir, records indicate it's an experimental resoc program. It's a joint effort from the biology and engineering departments. From what we can tell it's supposed to produce super-engineers, but it hasn't been tested. The project was abandoned after the Dominion pulled out."

You try not to believe in miracles, and there's no indication that the engineers it creates know anything about psionics, and there's a good chance it'll kill or horribly maim anyone you stick in the tank, but....

It might be a shot.

>"What're the odds it works?"

You wait for a bit, looking at Mac. You eventually agree.

>"Do it."

>"You heard your orders, Helldogs."
>"I don't like this one bit, Bossman."
>"If you liked your job it wouldn't be a job, Nick."

The marines work the equipment, bringing the tank down. Mac steps up the stairs, several electrical wires connect to him, several diodes to his head, a re-breather over his mouth, and they put him in the tank. It goes up. He gives a thumbs up.

>"You... sure, sir?"
>"Do it."

Loud engines hum. Sparks shoot across the tank, full of nearly-fully lightning. The various electrical systems start to smoke.

>"It's too much. Shut it down! Shut it down!"
>"I can't, nothing's responding!"

Engines hum at higher pitches, Mac convulses in the tank, electrical arcs shoot out from it, hitting equipment and blasting one of your marines to the ground.

>"Back up! Everyone get-"

Too little too late. An explosion rocks the room. Black smoke and resoc fluid touch every corner. You stand up, coughing.

In the middle of the room is a nearly naked Mac, his hair blonde from the shock. He's hunched over on his knees.

>"... Mac?"

You ask, and step towards him cautiously. Your hand shakes as you reach out to touch his shoulder.

He slowly starts to stand, you pull your hand back.

>"I know... everything."
>"Everything?"
>"I can build... anything."

He looks at his own hands as if some world-shattering revelation has hit him. Then back to the Lab. Your marines are helping eachother up.

>"Everyone alright?"
>"Yeah I'm fine."
>"Real Peachy."
>"I feel better, actually. This reminds me of this one time me and my friend Jerry went to the ice cream store, now normally Jerry likes to get a pecan but-"

>"Looks like the equipment blew, hadn't been used in a while by my guess. I could rebuild the machine but the training would be gone. I think you're more interested in other repairs though, am I right?"

You order the Adjutant to take care of remaining objectives.

You stay on the bridge, looking out at the vastness of space, waiting for something to happen. Eventually, your Adjutant speaks:
>"Commander, Specialist Cammac Guyver has been released from the Med Bay. There were no abnormalities following his procedure."
>"Thank you, Adjutant."

You are still wary of the news, but there's little you can do. He'll be working on your suit now, you imagine.

Hours seem to pass before your next alert.

>"Commander, Corporal Tyrone is reporting. He has located a black market schematics and munitions depot. He is reporting that it is run by his lost relative. I have brought available purchases up on screen."

You look to the screen's readout...

You sell your supplies and gather your orbital drop pod components. You'll be able to insert to planet surfaces straight from the Daluke. Or other, more creative, uses.

>"Commander, I have loaded the starmap."

Starmap loaded. Additional options have become available. Unnecessary or dangerous locations have been removed. Recommendation: We are low on Credits. Look for Financial Opportunities.

>1 Jungle World XTYU003: Edge of Protoss space. Ruins on planet, inhabited by friendly Protoss Dark Templar Kassix.

>2 Volcanic World HA002: Old zerg hive world. Nuked out years ago during the Brood Wars. Heavy in minerals, vespene gas, and geothermal energy.

>3 Forest World NN014 "New Ares": Small colony in operation, mostly agriculture. Close to heavy shipping lanes.

>4 Nohallan: Fringe Ice Planet. Hostile Wildlife and climate. Well outside of Domninion space.

>5 Barren World JZ01919: No atmosphere, high in inorganic salts and rare compounds. Mining platform station "Dick's Paradise" in orbit.

>6 Murric: Contiential Fringe World. Provides 92% of Agriculture for nearby systems. Fiercely independent anti-Dominion population.

>7 Corendis: Jungle World, known for heavy Safari activity. Low in minerals, high in vespene gas.

>8 New Albuquerque: Fringe Desert Planet. Civilian Shipbuilding industry. Low in minerals and vespene gas.

>9 Station 114: Fringe territory observation post. Previously Confederate, now occupied by ex-Confederate mercenaries.

If I got my math right, it's been 17 hours. Timestamps might be screwing with me though. Actually probably are, I guess it'd depend on where Supt/tg/ is located. Probably 14 hours? I got no clue.
