10th day of prophecy, 04:35 PM, inside the main camp of the crusaders at the alchemical store of Ithel Hermingild.

Finally you emerge from the atelier, getting outside and feeling the nice, warm breeze of the late afternoon ocean as you take several refreshing, reinvigorating breath, escaping the pressuring magic inside the big tent behind you.

You realize now why the vast majority of alchemists aren’t mage; the pure raw power behind you is thick enough to be touched and is such a distraction that it almost grips your chest physically, but for Emeth sake you’ve pressed on regardless and looked at Ithel putting runes with surgical precision all day, the girl only took brief break here and there for a drink and stretching but soon went all over the body of your golem and colored her in silver, then went over to place the details of the runes while activating her arms and legs, then synching up with her core one at a time as the holy runes started to flares one by one…

She didn’t look anywhere near finished and, now that you day has been effectively… spent watching this very, very unique art you’ve decided to go out for some very needed relief and fresh air as the thick smell of the atelier almost made you sick.

One thing for certain, no way in hell will that girl ever be able to hack or turn Emeth against you after your observations, unless of course she lied straight to your face and was doing it right there in front of you…

You call it, looking around you for the long haired blond that disappeared before you realized it, the numbers of traveling soldier on the trail leading outside has decreased significantly and numbers of tent and small wooden barricaded have been erected during your time with the alchemist, several Holy rituals are going on in the immediate vicinity and you hear what seems to be prayers here and there, mostly dwarfed by the activity going on as wooden crates transported by people and metal-clad soldiers ventures further out, you’ve realized quite fast that you are on the east most flanks of the main camp.

Seem like your flogging was forgotten, too. Nobody so much as bat an eyelid at your presence.
Well then you’ve got two very obvious choices before you…

You could get some food and go back inside for your golem (the alchemist will most likely need until evening to finish…)

Considering the fact that you’ve spent your entire day in an oppressively hot magical tent you feel well overdue for a little walk and, considering that your holy sword isn’t where it belong at your side… you feel more curious than angry as to why Leila would go and disappear like that out of the blue, you wouldn’t really mind if she didn’t have your weapon.

Taking a step back, your slowly peer inside the tent where the little alchemist is still fast at work, her concentration easily able to rival Focus and for a moment you just look at her crafting some more runes, putting the finishing touch on Emeth arms and legs with serious dedication.

‘’I have some business to take care off, take care of her until then’’

You suddenly say, Ithel not even acknowledging in the slightest as she start working with more materials and you set out afterward, making sure the sheet are camouflaging the entrance perfectly well and glaring at any male passerby, not that they should have any idea what’s going on inside…. Even if there’s enough magic to give any mages nausea.

Now to find where this runaway Purifier could have gone, which isn’t exactly easy given the total lack of hint and, without any other option, you decide to walk to one of the occupied tent looking to be like a storage of… crates?

Well you won’t really make yourself obnoxious; you did get flogged this morning after all.

You were mostly alone on the trail leading to the exit of the camp, the amount of soldiers shrunk considerably and the ones you crossed path with were lazy enough to not give a damn about you, while priest exercised Holy ritual here and there with a few men and woman gathered around they’re fellows showing off age old ‘’magic trick’’ that were nothing but amateur sleight of hands.

You expected the Church encampment to be oppressive but… people here don’t look angry at all despite being the driving force of the crusade, moral look pretty good without bloodshed as its driving force.

That Hieronymus is quite something.

As you progressed more, you crossed path with a little wooden shrine, the thing was obviously made fast without much mind to art for it was a staff with a crude angel carved on top of it but, a single tent was erected not too far behind it, with the ground around it looking very much thoroughly cleaned, the tent was also completely white very much unlike the shower of gray and dark blue that you’ve grown accustomed to by now, coupled with the fact that you felt intense burst of holy energy coming from inside it, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to believe that this may very well be a shrine erected in earnest, someplace made for lone meditation maybe?

Now, intruding would be beyond rude but… you are very much alone on this path, at least for now, the soldiers and artisans have gathered for some well-deserved food and much too busy mingling amongst themselves to pay you any mind and it is with a figurative Sword of Damocles that you take a peed inside the white tent, whatever ritual going on inside was much too hard for your curiosity to resist.

Your eyes nearly jump out of your sockets when you gently part the silky smooth entrance.

The inside of the tent is completely devoid of furniture and is pretty dark even with the white silk, an expertly made hole right at the top allow some ray of light to filter inside giving a good impression of a faux-holy place and, right in the middle, stand the cute Purifier doing… something very much unique.

Holding your holy Sword with hand hands, she has the flat of the blade resting on her forehead, the entire weapon is glowing a bright, strong white with constant powder falling from its length, sometime landing on the arms of the woman but more often than not, they trickled on the ground to rest like snow for a few seconds before disappearing. The guard of your sword has also grown a pair of vivid illusionary wings, which also trickle this strange magical powder as they flap at random…

She hasn’t so much as doubted your little spying, what do you do, Siegfried?

As much as you’d like to continue watching you prefer to tackle this problem head on, there’s no doubt that she’s uncovered the secret of your valuable sword right now, after all even if Hadraniel is outside the shrine there’s still another entity inside…
You’ve crossed path with the Embodiment of Faith, Radiance, twice now and it seems that the Hero has started to become a bit more active, which only make sense given how the last few days went; at least assuming she can perceive the world around her.
Slowly, you part the silky entrance and decide to make your presence known.

You ask while venturing forth, the Purifier reaction is almost instantaneous; she jump back, grabbing the sword into a high guard, the magnificent blade shining white, while the wings grew large enough to touch the texture of the tent, they’re unreliable flapping causing incessant holy snow of disappear into the ether of the world.

She ask slowly, her eyes looking strangely absent, the entire atmosphere doesn’t feel oppressive despite the fact that she’s on guard, at least she doesn’t have that large flamberge on her back.

You speak while looking over her body for anything suspicious, thankfully she doesn’t attempt any sudden moves and simply lower her guard, handling the sword more casually in a one handed, neutral stance as she take in several breath, her cheeks looking slightly red for some reason.

She says with a smirk, the holy sword manifestation puttering out of existence, the blade going back to its usual dull gray, boring looks as the green eyes of the Purifier look on in clear wonder.

You aren’t sure you like that look, her enthusiasm is… it’s flowing out like a tidal wave, she look very excited but thankfully able to contain herself.

We ain't a holy mage. If we were we would have been able to experiment with it like she is. It's true potential really can only be realized by people like her but we will need to get it back before we off Ahriman.

If we can get enough info out of Lystia we may be able to fully restore her. I gotta say, having an Embodiment-Class angel on your side will make it much more likely for more than 1 or 2 of our waifus to make it. They can seriously fuck shit up.

You’ve taken care of one of the angels inside this blade… but totally forgot to unearth the mysteries around Lysta.

The Purifier stops her movement, turning back at you with glowing eyes, for a moment you forget yourself in front of such… beauty, yes. Despite your reservations, Leila looks absolutely stunning right now even if, all of it looks misguided to you.

She trail off at the end, turning her back to you, then grabbing the scabbard and slowly putting the sword where it belong, the sound of rattling metal on leather breaking the holy atmosphere of the little tent.

Leila almost scream as she whirl back at you, her free hand balled in a fist as the knuckles of her second one turn white as she grip the scabbard with all of her strength, leaving you honestly dumbfounded; she looks almost desperate, you have no idea what kind of emotions are running through but… somehow… you feel like this girl is hungry for purpose.

In other words, she’s asking you to lend your precious to her; you haven’t used this sword very much, if at all, in term of effectiveness the blade is wasted in your hands, you are much more effective at range after all.

She finally say with a red face, thrusting forward the Holy blade hilt first in your direction, almost smashing it in your guts as you ponder your options with this young, eager Purifier.

It look like even agents of prestigious Orders aren’t able to free themselves of the gruel of soldiers, you’ve eaten some horrific rations in the past and you couldn’t help but groan when Leila announced that you’d be taking food from the ‘’usual places’’ that sounded very much like a mess to your ears and your first impression was reinforced when you saw soldiers lining up, then going to eat with bowls of…something and piece of warm bread.

I do have a question. What is general church policy in regards to Lilim? In my head they're like the Dead Apostles. They got a number and their best dudes are hunting their sorry asses 24/7.

For in regards to the problem of corruption they are essentially the biggest threat next to the demon lord herself. The church would thus be quite pleased to see them all die. Am I right about this?

I'm actually a bit worried about that. We and the beast don't get along so we got some internal strife about us. If he can sense beings similar to himself we'd be boned. We also want him dead so any killing intent might be felt and then we're dead. Honestly, without the whole damn party any encounter with him will end in our death. Overhearing a conversation about an Embodiment level angel that's debarking from the ship, their certainty in victory assured because of that. Or hell maybe just bumping into a lover's quarrel because we need some silliness right about now...

You remember your discussion with Mother Earth, when she showed you the face of each of your objectives; you’ve already strayed from the path she tried to lay out before you by sparing Amarantha but now, your guts freeze over at the idea of crossing path with Orion, the Embodiment of Strife.

You don’t have a chance of taking him out individually and if he even has an inkling of your intention right now…

Leila suddenly speak and gently shake your shoulder, prompting you back to earth as the images of a few days ago vanish, the nostalgia clouding your judgments clear when you see her worried face.

She has her hand wrapped around the pommel of the holy sword once more, pleasantry and embarrassment all filtered out of her face, now looking dignified and dutiful, you wouldn’t be surprised if she were to pull her mask and put it on and, for a moment, you consider taking her offer, walking alongside the Purifier on this small, forest path up to the main camp and mingle with the soldiers and gawk at angels, maybe you could learn something interesting as well, but…

Angels are, for all intent and purpose, complete mysteries in every sense of the word; you love one of them with all your heart for certain but you also have to kill another and… who knows, if it IS Orion he could have some inkling of the loop, just like Tsukiyomi and you, the most inane of trigger could awaken him, or it to the loop…

Or maybe you are really overthinking it and just outright scared of that angel masterminding a literal Holy WMD.

As do I. My favorite endings are ones where the MC's defied odds, fate, and possibly even the Gods themselves at great cost to themselves in order to get a truly "happy" ending somehow. Kirkegaard's "Knight of Faith" is the example to live up to in my mind. Anyone who tries to do so is aces in my book.

If we can and do get Lystia unbound this is definitely the song I want playing during our discussions with Orion. He is, after all in my head, a parallel to Duke. A poor fool who refuses to see what we and our party have seen. That there really is a chance for peace, for a truly good ending. And she's better at discussion than we, for her very existence forces reality to obey the purity of her convictions. Strife and Faith are very similar concepts, they likely understood each other, even if they ultimately couldn't see themselves coming to a compromise.

Orion, you sad, sorry fool. If only you could have shown a bit of mercy...

Of course not. He is a thinker as well. He chose the path of "senmetsu" for good reason. We, who don't agree with that, oppose him. Yet we do not ignore his logic.
