LAST TIME ON GUNDAM AGE QUEST: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Gundam+AGE+Quest

Check My Twitter for Updates/Reschedules: https://twitter.com/Crosswire

Your name is Dirk Crocker. You just lost all of your pocket change after a friendly poker game with your teammates, Arisa, Obrigh, and Max. They told you what kind of customization's they would like out of their suits and you wandered off to the hanger to get some work done before your arrival at Big Ring.

Arriving at the hanger, you see the engineers working away one all of the suits present. Checking their systems and weapons to make sure everything is working properly. A few of the engineers are having a quick lunch break, one of whom is a pudgy blue haired engineer who quickly notices you.

"Hey, you there!" he shouts in a friendly tone as he floats up to you with ease thanks to the hanger being under zero gravity.

"You must be Jake Crocker's son right? I'm Dique Gunhale, I was aboard the Diva when your father showed up to help all those years ago. We aren't really friends per-say, but he got me into engineering and helped me start my career. If you don't know who I am you must have met my daughter..." He extends a friendly hand towards you.

What will you do Dirk?
>>
>>25893909
Shake his hand.
"Dirk Crocker. My pleasure, Mr Gunhale. I think we met already, but it was a while ago."
"And I met your daughter, but I'm afraid I didn't leave the best impression."
>>
On a side note, we probably should call Yurika over to help us with engineering those new wears. I guess she must be nervous about meeting Flit after all this time.

"Oh don't worry about it, most boys don't leave a first good impression...save for that Asemu boy she keeps talking about. Ether way she probably doesn't hold anything against you personally. Just try not to call her 'fat' again unless you want to have children in the near future..." Dique laughs and pats you on the shoulder.

"So what did you come down to do exactly? Here to check up on our work?"

"Actually I came down to get in some customization for Arisa and Max. Nothing too complicated, but I'd like your help."

"Sure, my boys are running maintenance but I can help." Dique offers with a jolly grin.

>>25894735
You dial Yurika's number but get a busy signal. She's probably calling her father or maybe talking with her Mom? Better not interrupt her.

So what would you like to get started on first? Max's suit or Arisa's suit?

Let's get cracking on Arisa's suit first. We already have the blueprints for the Starks wear, right?
We can easily add some bits from the Razor on top of it later on.
>>
>>25894934
Also, since this thing does its best when piloted by an X-Rounder, we need to somehow make it more usable for normal pilots.
Can we make some software that does that part, like anticipate speed and correct it instead of relying on a psychic pilot?
>>
>>25894934
>>25895013
You have the Blueprints on the Stark Wear and crank it out in an hour. The Stark Wear itself isn't the issue it's finding out how to modify it so the pilot's don't die from the intense G-Forces the suit can reach.

There are a number of ways you could try to do this. The first would be adding a limiter. It watches the output of the suit and restricts it's performance to keep the pilot from killing itself. Limiters have been in use since high performance suits popped up. They are normally used to keep the pilot from abusing the suit and damaging it. However with proper adjustments you could make it work the other way around. However it will restrict and decrease the performance of the Stark Wear, not too much, but a noticeable amount.

Another way you could do it is to rewrite the entire operating system to compensate for a none-X-Rounder Pilot. This way you keep the performance and lose the head exploding. However this will take a loooot of work and you are totally sure it's going to work out. You don't have a base to work with since Dad's XM3 OS wasn't designed for this sort of thing so you'll have to start from scratch.

So what do you wish to do? You have Dique helping you so you'll have an extra set of hands to work with, he just needs to know what you want him to do.
>>
>>25895512
Let's start with the limiter first. It's the safest and fastest thing. We can remove it later on, right?
If we had more time, we'd rewrite the OS, which is something we definitely should do later on. Allowing normal pilots to use X-Rounder tech would be awesome, but lets do that once we finish the suits themselves.
>>
>>25895577
You can turn it off, you don't necessarily need to remove the thing.

Dique digs up a spare limiter and some components and tools you could use to modify and re-program it. It's an older limiter since but it's the ones they've been using for a while. Not great but it should do the job.

(Roll 1d100 vs Engineering skill. 80 or below will succeed. 1 is a critical success. 100 is a critical failure. No penalties received from working with an improper limiter thanks to Dique. Only the first six rolls will be counted)

Okay, that covers Arisa. We could throw some blades on that thing to increase its capabilities in melee or something. The Razor wear uses some sort of multilayered blades - when the top one becomes dull, it gets replaced instantly with the one beneath it.

Max is going to be a problem with his modified Titus wear.
>>
We dead?
>>
>>25896496
Probably not necessary to give the Starks the Razor's blades. The Root Reiber Lance is already very powerful(if stupidly named). And the Starks' main weakness, aside from the stress on the pilot, is the deadweight the thrusters add. The weight of the blades is one of the main reasons the Razor is so hard to pilot. Let's not bother with them.
>>
>>25897373
Fair enough.
Can the Starks use ranged weapons? I think it's mostly focused on using its lance for attacks, which can be pretty dangerous. Maybe we can modify it to serve as both a lance and a DODS rifle or carabin.
>>
>>25897419
Well, there's nothing to stop it from using the regular weapons of the Adele. We see Wear-using Adeles firing DODS Rifles in canon, so Arisa should still be able to use the EM Bullpup for ranged combat and the beam sabers as a fallback in melee combat.

Really, it makes you wonder why Flit never used the DODS Rifle with his wear packs. They were pretty exclusively melee, with the only ranged weapon being the railguns on the Spallow, which were highly situational in use. The DODS Rifle's firepower with the Spallow's speed would have made the fight against Desil in canon much, much easier to end happily.

I think it's mostly to do because his suits already had integrated weapons in them, so wielding another would kinda be problematic.
The Gransa, for example, has integrated missile launchers, beam sabers, beam rifles, two shields that can double as blades and so on.
He's already packing enough heat. But yeah, the Spallow could use some ranged weapons.

>76, 16, 68, 66, 57, 48

After modifying the limiter internally and editing the program and it's directives, you install it on board the Stark Adele and make some on-board adjustments as Dique runs a few simulations. You don't have the time or permission to test it, but the simulations seem to indicate the limiter is in working order.

The Stark Adele will be able to use regular weapons along with it's Root Reiber Lance without any issues or penalties.

Now it's onto Max's modified Titus wear. Upgrading the armor, modifying the shoulders and whipping up some heat based weaponry shouldn't be to hard to whip up, but how do you want to approach this Dirk?
>>
>>25896496
The Razor Wear is probably the closest mobile suit equivalent at this moment, to the hairtrigger-sensitive Japanese TSFs.

It doesn't help that each mobile suit that wears the Razor needs its own settings to avoid fucking itself up.

Okay, heavily modified Titus wear. Max wants melee, he'll get melee.

One arm should carry a large shield with an integrated EM cannon, for ranged damage. The shield should cover the entire arm, and combined with the shoulder armor, provide ample cover for him to move into melee range. The edges of the shield are sharpened, and the shield can be used for bashing and slicing. This arm can also wield the regular weapons.

The other arm carries a Bisidian heat blade, shaped like a greatsword or katana. The arm itself is modified to use the Titus wear's strength for heavy attacks, able to slice enemy suits in half with a single blow.

The heavier shoulder and knees get an additional blade, so that tackles and knee-kicks hurt like hell. Let's not use spikes, we don't want Vagan self-exploding in our face.

The armor enforcements should be composed of interlocking plates, that provide ample protection and that can be swapped regularly. Also, the armor has flashbang grenade launchers and flash systems integrated for quick escapes.

>>It is possible to maneuver and attack by taking advantage of the considerable inertial force generated by the weight of the blades

I'm calling it out now.

This is exactly the handling characteristic of the Delphine and its equipment in the Broken Blade manga/movies.

Like when Rygart has to exploit inertia to be able to explosively move in another direction, or follow-through with the momentum and flip over.
>>
>>25897590
Yeah, I was mostly thinking about his Gen 1 packs. I tend to think of the Gransa as being a whole different machine, even though it's just another equipment pack. Probably because it's so different from his earlier wears. That thing is all gun.

>>25897607
Well, the heat sword we'll copy off the G-Xiphos. Supposedly it's actually better than beam sabers, so that should satisfy Max's desire for swording.

I'm worried about the Titus being too slow to move properly, though. Can we add the equivalent of external pectoral and pelvic muscles? See, my theory is that the reason the Titus has such slow movement speed is because it can't coordinate the output of its limbs the way other mobile suits can. There aren't any internal connections between muscle groups, just the modular drive-train the AGE-1 uses for its limbs. That means it has to use a slower, more inefficient actuator designs to get the force output the designs needs. If we could build an exosuit sort of thing to go across the torso, we could change the muscle design and let the Titus move its limbs more quickly. We could base it off the external connectors used in the Crusader for its cowls and the Merlin's modular parts. Plus, if we did it that way we would get a bit of a head start on the core block design and make the AGE-3 a bit more effective.
>>
>>25897919
Also. Additional thrusters to balance the extra weight. They can be fired up to allow quick escapes or insanely powerful tackles / sword strikes.

>>25897867
Yeah, we'd need to make that OS that allows not-X-Rounders to use X-Rounder wears.
It could allow regular pilots to use the Razor and Starks and other such cool stuff.

We could use the Brocka as a base.
Flit probably developed it already, and it's the combo of the Titus and Spallow, focusing more on grappling moves and acrobatic attacks than brute force.
>>
>>25898077
I believe we did get it back in Gen 1, we just never used it. The AGE System wound up spitting out a lot of designs that never got used for anything but Jake reverse-engineering them.
>>
>>25898077
The Brocka was developed when your father and Flit were still on the Diva together. You have the data for that lying around somewhere. Using that as a base might be a good idea, increased defensive and melee capabilities without a major lose in speed like with the Titus. Besides, Max didn't seem all interested in beam emitters anyway.

>>25897919
You talk things over with Dique and you decide to leave out most of suggestions and add in some of your own stuff.

>The other arm carries a Bisidian heat blade, shaped like a katana.

As you draw out some of the ideas, the lights in the hanger flicker and a few systems go offline for a minute before turning back on.

"What was that?"

"A brownout. We've been getting them ever since we got nailed by the Fa Bose. It didn't hit any important systems but it must have fucked up something with the weird power fluctuations we've been having. It shouldn't be a problem since it's only effecting subsystems at this point, I'm sure we'll have it wrapped up once we get to Big Ring"

You get back to work and look over the design. Max's Adele looks almost Samurai like with the Brocka wear as a base, the katana, and the unintentionally samurai like armor reinforcements.

The parts come out, you assemble them and equip them to the Adele. After some adjustments and painting it's all done and looks really, REALLY cool. You basically ignored most of Max's suggestions but you don't think he'll be able to complain when he see's Samurai Adele.

However both Arisa's and Max's Adele are getting updates to their OS and will be out of commission for a few hours now that your all done with them, but your only a couple minutes away from Big Ring so it shouldn't matter.

As you get ready to leave you think back to what Dique talked about, all the Brown Out's the ship has been experiencing since it got hit. The Diva will receive full repairs before it leaves Big Ring for the moon so if you don't investigate it's no skin off your chest right?

However you could easily do it. Throw on a Normal Suit and go into the breached section.

What do you want to do Dirk?
>>
>>25898911
Let's investigate. Tell Dique that we're going to fix that thing.

On a side note, did the Leviathan agents get aboard the Diva, or are they still following us aboard the Dagon?
>>
>>25898911
Yeah, let's check it out. Clear it with Dique first though so we're not risking any insubordination.

Also make sure our toolkit contains something appropriate for smashing things. A crowbar or heavy wrench. No child of Jake Crocker is going to enter a dark, airless, zero-gravity room unprepared for something flying out and attacking him.
>>
>>25899036
Cue MID scaring the shit out of Dirk.
>>
>>25899145
Well, that would be a tragic encounter. MID was just wandering the halls playing, getting into sealed off areas and having a good time. Then he saw his best friend and leaped to join him...only to get whacked in the face. Poor MID. Well, he survived his ship taking heavy fire and 116 years of vacuum exposure, I'm sure he can take a hit without too much permanent damage. I know Haro can. What did Flit make him out of that he's that elastic?
>>
>>25899212
Well, MID is probably made from the same stuff as SID... Weird, we never properly analyzed him, didn't we?
As for Haro, I don't know - I'm guessing some sort of very elastic and durable plastic fibers for the "skin" and a strong case for the insides. He moves by bouncing around, so I guess hydraulics for movement as well.
>>
>>25898953
You tell Dique your doing some investigating which he condones and you head out. Putting on a space suit and grabbing some heavy duty tools, you exit the ship using and air lock and go out onto the hull of the ship.

Walking along the hull using magnetic boots, you detach and fly your way to the hole left by the Fa Bose attack. There's plenty of heat damage from the beam blast but there's an unusual amount of physical damage, like something struck the heated metal and widened the already large hole.

Turning on a pair of lights attached to the suit you float your way inside, using the vernier pack to give you boost now and then. Small bits of metal and and debris bounce off your suit and helmet as you make your way into the hole.

At first there damage seems superficial, but as you make your way deeper inside to look at the main power junction for this side of the ship you a surprising site.

First it just seems like the cables have been torn out and sucked into some invisible hole, but after shining some light on it and adjusting your position you realize the power lines have been pulled into some kind of particularly invisible cylinder. It's big too, MS sized from what you can guess and equipped with some kind of miniature invisible umbrella system that appears to be quite damaged due to all the 'holes' in the umbrella.

Just as you turn to leave you see someone standing their with an assault rifle in hand, suddenly a voice comes in over the radio built into the suit.

"Dirk? My my you are just determined to get in may of my plans."

"Zeheart? How did you..." You still have your crowbar in hand from when you entered, but Zeheart keeps his assault rifle aimed at your helmet.

"An acid compound made from a tube of solution hidden in my stomach. All I needed was iron to complete it and you provided all the iron I needed. Seriously? Vitamins? You think I REALLY needed them? My god Dirk your more gullible then I ever thought." Zeheart chuckles.

What do you wish to do Dirk? What do you want to say?

If you're going to break out, just break out. Don't stop to make ridiculous lies just so you can gloat at me. If you want to gloat, tell me what you really did."

And then, whether he tells us or not, throw a wrench at him. And then start smashing in his helmet. Fuck you, man, you've gotten your three strikes, now we cave in your skull and leave you to breathe vacuum.

Not to mention the prion diseases you've got from all that cannibalism I'm sure you had to resort to. Man, poor Vagans. Almost makes me feel bad that your parents are going to be executed as punishment for you and your siblings' failure."

And then when we've got him good and mad, throw the wrench for distraction. Then we duck behind the invisible cylinder. If we can, we get inside it for cover, and to sabotage whatever is inside it. Hell, maybe there's something in there we can use against him.

I saw that as being more for Desil's benefit. I guess not having his little brother die would be nice for Desil to have, but it's not like they ever actually knew each other before the current plot. He probably won't be too broken up over it.
>>
>>25900643
We're doing it for Desil, and for reconnaissance. I don't think Jake even met Zeheart, and Desil doesn't seem to care so much about him as much for his parents.
>>
>>25900643
>That's the reason he finally gets killed in his last fight with Asemu, I figure it's worth a shot.
Actually, I think that was more Asemu being a better pilot and the whole SUPAA PIRATO thing making him immune to X-Rounder.

And X-Rounders get Angry all the time, and it doesn't effect their abilities all that much.
>>
>>25900569
Being an X-Rounder he sees this and manages to avoid the wrench but takes the Crowbar to the groin. Like you he's probably a pilot first and a foot soldier second if at all. X-Rounder reflexes don't do shit when your unskilled in infantry combat. Hitting him causes his assault rifle fire to miss your center. However it doesn't miss you completely....

At first you think you got off scott clean as the assault rifle fire weaves right and seems to miss you completely. Then you wonder why you can't move your arm and when you look down you see it floating there, disconnected from your body. You right arm is gone past the elbow and you are probably bleeding quite profusely. Thankfully the suit has sealed itself up after being breached so you don't have to worry about depressurizing, just dying of blood loss, shock, and Zeheart shooting you as he's quickly recovering from the pain.

Quick Dirk, what will you do!?
>>
>>25900700
Zeheart snapped at that time. Evilcunt revealing his master plan which meant that everything Zeheart did was for nothing, him sacrificing his men for some ridiculous goal, killing Fram, realizing that everything he ever wanted was to have a normal life like Asemu did...
It's not so much that Zeheart was angry that he lost, but that he was insane and stressed out.
>>
>>25900742
Grit through the pain. Let your X-Rounder powers flow through you.
Knock him out using mind rape fueled by your own agony.

We Darth Dirk now.
>>
>>25900795
You'd really love to go Darth Vadar on Zehearts ass but how the hell are you going to take off your glasses while your wearing a space helmet?
>>
>>25900742
>Lost an Arm.
See, this is what happens. Hopefully Daiki becomes all cool again and realizes the Grand Wing can help people too, and we can take a trip to the future or Crossbone Gundam or something for a Cybernetic.

Dirk needs to take this opportunity to get the hell out of dodge, and get medical attention. Zeheart is going to recover from getting hit in the balls faster then we will from Shock.
Unless we're conscious enough that we can grab our arm and go all Ez8 on Zeheart until he's knocked out.
>>
>>25900868
We're going to use reach up with our left arm, and take them off, silly.
>>
>>25900742
Well, I guess Rysis is going to get at least one Crocker child to make a cyborg out of. Also, that is a damn heavy caliber to take our arm off completely like that.

Well, fuck it. The human body can handle up to 10 seconds of vacuum exposure. Let's exhale so our lungs don't pop, open our helmet's faceplate, and take off the shades to expose him to our mind crush again. Then we reseal just for survival's sake, no chance of us being able to fight with both gunshot wounds and vacuum exposure right after another, and just drift there, fucking up his brain and waiting for someone to come out and investigate why we haven't checked in on the radio in so long.
>>
>>25900907
Or we get so angry the glasses break because they can't contain our powers.

But let's run, we're pretty fucked up. Call for help, and move away from the crazy martian asshole.
Goddamn it MID, I wish you were around for a distraction.
>>
>>25900933
While we do that, we're already shot. That, and I doubt you're supposed to expose gun wounds to vacuum.
>>
>>25900890
Well we did lose an arm and barely noticed it, so it's possible we can go full berserker on his ass.
I'd rather not risk it, though.
>>
>>25900988
It's not a pressurized suit, it's a compression suit. There's a seal at the collar, so opening the faceplate won't damage anything other than our face.
>>
>>25901131
Yeah, but it's still too much time. Especially if we're in the open in front of him. And he's recovering.
By the time we open the faceplate, take off the glasses and put the faceplate back, we're riddled with holes.

Is there any cover we can get behind?
>>
>>25900957
>>25900890
You decide to GTFO and get the fuck away from Zeheart. The suit has sealed itself up thanks to the breach goo/foam built into the suit that is released whenever it's cut or damaged. Still, bleeding to death doesn't sound very pleasant. However as you move forward Zeheart manages to fly forward using his own vierner pack and pins you against a wall.

"No more tricks, no more games, no more distractions..."

As Zeheart speak you see MID crawling along the wall behind Zeheart.

"Uh Zeheart..."

"No. No more fucking around. I'm going to end your life as painlessly as I...

MID notices you and Zeheart and his green mono eye suddenly turns blood red.

"Zeheart you should probably..."

"NO. YOU DIE NOW"

"Fine, whatever. Don't say I didn't try to warn you."

"Warn me of wh-" Suddenly MID launches from the wall and grabs onto Zehearts head. Reaching down with one of his tiny mechanical arms he punches into Zehearts helmet and proceeds to digs his tiny hand into Zehearts eye and rip it clean out of it's socket.

Zeheart reels back in horror and pain, smashing MID against the wall as he crawls away, slapping sealing tape over the hole in his helmet as MID proceeds to stab and cut Zeheart in increasingly sensitive areas.

However the attack is cut short when Zeheart manages to throw MID to the ground, pin him and unload his assult rifle into him. MID is riddled with bullets and is horrible damaged when Zeheart kicks him over to you.

At the moment you can't properly move or see very well. MID appears to still be crawling towards you and has latched onto where your arm used to be. You hear voices, shouts, and gunfire over the radio as things get darker and darker and eventually go black...

(Cont)
>>
>>25901168
Thankfully you don't fade into some black nothingness and instead wake up to a bright white and sterile smelling room. Probably the infirmary or a infirmary.

A blond women wearing a doctors outfit enters the room and looks you over as you begin to wake. "How are you and your friend feeling?" She asks. As you look down and see something rather peculiar attached to where your right arm used to be.

What do you say Dirk?
>>
>>25901223
"...what happened?"
>>
>>25901223
"...huh? Miss Dyson? what's going on-" and then lapse back unconscious.
>>
>>25901223
You know ahhh....
And then we look at our arm.
>>
MID just gave up his life for us.
If his AI core somehow survived, we're inserting him into the Merlin.
>>
>>25901242
>>25901341
"...What happened?" You ask, your head throbbing quite painfully.

"Oh you got your arm shot off by Zeheart and you passed out from blood loss and shock. But not our mechanical friend here proceeds to tear out one of his eyes, two of his toes and something else we can't identify. He was banged up pretty badly but he seems to have made quite a home as your new arm."

You lift up you right arm and see that it is clearly MID acting as a rather impressive, if obvious artificial, arm. You can still see his rather pleasant green Mono-eye looking up at you from the back of his he-, er, your hand, still alive and functional just in the shape of an arm and kind of attached to you.

"Awake! Your Awake!" He chimes happily

"How did he...."

"I have no idea. We tried to take him off, but once he sank a couple things into your nerves all we could do was feed him metal and hope for the best. Oh my name is...well you can call me Miss Dyson, although no I'm not married to a certain Largan Dyson." She proceeds to check you over and take down a few notes.

"Are you the doctor aboard the Diva?" You manage to ask as she looks you over.

"Yes, well now I am anyway. Oh and before you become worried why your junk hurts, I took the liberty to take a semen sample while you were unconscious, along with a blood sample, stool sample and everything else just to make sure you were really Dirk Crocker. So don't get all weirded out or anything."

What would you like to do/ask now Dirk?

Damn straight. He might have survived, right? His core is tiny, it could have avoided damage. Right? MID isn't dead. MID isn't dead. That's the friend she's talking about. She would have put sarcasm quotes around it if she was talking about Zeheart. MID is fine and has been installed into a new body. He's in the G Phone now. He's in the G Phone and can dock with our new cyborg arm to activate our super mode. That's what's happened. Everything's fine.
Oh god, MID!
>>
>>25901463
Jesus fuck, I was right! MID is our new cyborg arm! Fuck yes!
>>
>>25901440
Is this the doctor who looks like Emily? If so, can we ask her why she does?

Also, ask how Zeheart is doing and if they can get him a cybernetic eye or at least a bitchin' high tech eyepatch.
>>
>>25901440
To MID:
"...hey, buddy. Thanks for that back there and... Sorry I got you into this mess."

To Dr Dyson:
"You don't really need all that stuff for identification. But at the moment, I don't care. Thanks."
"Where are we? How long was I out? What happened while I was out?"
>>
>>25901440
"Who's Largan Dyson?"

"Also, have you talked to Captain Alloy and Major Enneacle yet? Because I'm not sure they'd be entirely happy with you being here. What with the looking exactly like their adopted son's supposedly dead mother and having the same family name as her and being a totally transparent false identity."

Seriously though, who's Largan Dyson? The one on the Diva was named Largan Drace. What, did he get adopted by Vargas or something?
>>
>>25901491
""You don't really need all that stuff for identification. But at the moment, I don't care. Thanks...Sorry if I'm being rude but you look familiar..."

"Oh I get that a lot. Trust me it's all in your imagination kid." She smiles at you, but it seems somewhat threatening. Like she's trying to hint at the fact she doesn't want you throwing the name around.

"Er, OK...What about Zeheart? How is he doing?" You try to change subject and she shrugs.

"Oh Zeheart got away. I only know what was pulled off of him because that's what we found along with your arm. He was forced to retreat after shooting down a couple dozen suits in the Big Ring Dock. Admiral Asuno himself came down and kicked his ass using the modified AGE-1 that arrived a couple days ago. I don't Zeheart he got what he wanted so you can rest knowing that."

>>25901517
You look down at MID and smile at him.
"...hey, buddy. Thanks for that back there and... Sorry I got you into this mess."

"No problem! No Problem!" He chimes, appearing not to have any kind of issue with this.

You look up at Dr. Dyson and decide to ask her a few questions.

"Where are we? How long was I out? What happened while I was out?"

"You are currently in the Big Ring Main infirmary. You've been out for at least a day, minus a couple of hours. While you were out Zeheart got away, but didn't inflict all that many casualties or all that much damage thanks to Admiral Asuno and a few of your friends aboard the Diva. No one you know was hurt to my knowledge."

Dr. Dyson leaves the room as she talks and comes back with a tray of food which she sets down on your bed.

"Anything else you want or need from me?" She asks, as she pushes the food closer to you, insisting you eat up and remain healthy.
>>
>>25901669
"Thanks for everything."
"Just one question - you didn't notify my mother about this, did you? Because she's going to kill me."

I guess we're taking guests now?

"Oh he's pretty far in. To the point I don't think we could remove him if we wanted too." Dr. Dyson admits with a shrug.

>>25901747
"Thanks for everything."
"Just one question - you didn't notify my mother about this, did you? Because she's going to kill me."

"Oh don't worry no one outside of Big Ring knows about this."

You take a spoon full a Jello and put it into your mouth as Dr. Dyson speaks again.

"Oh and if you get the chance, tell your friend Asemu I had to take samples of him too. He got clocked on the head pretty hard during the battle with Zeheart. Hope he doesn't think I'm weird be-"

Then you black out again.

When you wake up another doctor and Woolf are standing over you.

"Dirk are you OK?" Woolf asks.

"Yeah Dr. Dyson told me everything that was going on. I must have passed out in the middle of eating."

"Uh. there isn't a Dr. Dyson on Big Ring that I know off..." The Doctor standing beside you says, looking worried.

You explain what happened and Woolf confirms everything you heard was true, but the other doctor confirms that there isn't a Dr. Dyson aboard Big Ring.

He clears you as healthy and you can now do what you wish.

What do you want to do now Dirk?
>>
>>25901800
Or it could improve them. Imagine how this fight would have gone if instead of using the shades to restrict our abilities we had our AI buddy managing our limiter and could remove it at our command. Mind blasts at will now.
>>
>>25901935
Let's go check up on the others. We could use a walk.
While we're at it, give MID-arm a test run - see if our fingers move, can we clench a fist and so on.

>>25901950
...MID is nanotech, isn't he? Dirk's going to end up as a super cyborg of some sorts, with his full X-Rounder powers at his disposal.
And MID is going to be an integrated buddy omni-tool.
>>
>>25901935
Tell MID that if he's now part of our biology (and is presumably self-modifying if he can turn into an arm) that his next priority is to build a dedicated toxin filter so that we can't be drugged like that. Or at least have more time before we pass out. The level of anesthetic needed to do it that quickly is a carefully measured thing, Dr. Dyson! How could you be sure the amount in that bite wouldn't just kill us?
>>
>>25901935
Ask MID if his memory of the past day or two is intact. If the recordings are missing we probably were actually kidnapped, and they wiped them before they dropped us off. Well, maybe the process of fusing with us occupied so much of his processor power that he couldn't really pay much attention to his surroundings, but there would still be some sensory data in there. Even if it was just "DIRK IS BEING MOVED, WHY IS BEST FRIEND BEING MOVED? STOP THAT."
>>
>>25901935
>there isn't a Dr. Dyson aboard Big Ring.

Rysis.
>>
>>25902186
No, the disguise wasn't ridiculous enough. She didn't even have a fake mustache.
>>
>>25902186
She's on Zarth, planning her revenge on Scarlet for turning her offer of becoming a cyborg down.
And no mustache.

Speaking of Rysis, I kinda doubt that she's the sex maniac she acts like.
More like she teases the living shit out of everybody, simply so she can crush them for not being Arthur.
>>
>>25902009
>Let's go check up on the others. We could use a walk.
>While we're at it, give MID-arm a test run - see if our fingers move, can we clench a fist and so on.

You decide to take a walk and check up on Asemu and the others. As you walk you flex you new arm, finding it incredibly responsive even though it feels rather odd. It'll take some getting used to but you'll be able to work and pilot just fine.

>>25902013
>Tell MID that if he's now part of our biology (and is presumably self-modifying if he can turn into an arm) that his next priority is to build a dedicated toxin filter so that we can't be drugged like that. How could you be sure the amount in that bite wouldn't just kill us?

"I will do my best! But I don't want to hurt Dirk, it was tough making myself an arm..." He explains.

"So, how DID you do that anyway?"

"Easy! It's what I do. Observe. Analyze and Adapt! That's how MID has grown so much, I just like to stay small."

>>25902098
"MID do you have any data on what happened when I as unconscious?" You ask as MID stays silent in calculation.

"Men moved you to a medical facility. They were concerned about your safety. They did things to you to see if you were OK and then started taking things, fluids and icky stuff. Then they tried to make me come off and I wouldn't, so they started feeding me metal and parts to help me help you!"

"So nothing weird went on? No probes or brain surgery?"

"Nope. They moved you back here shortly after that." MID explains as you find Asemu in the middle of getting dressed into his uniform after having gotten out of bed.

"Hey Dirk, nice to see you OK. Uh, what's on your arm?"

What do you wish to do Dirk?
>>
>>25902250
Well, she only really had a weird sex thing when she was suffering from brain damage and was making weird connections between battlefield dominance and sexual relationships. She hasn't done anything overtly sexual in Gen 2, just teased the Crocker kids about their relationships. I think she may have made a comment to Scarlet about wanting her in a sexier uniform at one point, but that's about it. Nothing that really places her in a sexual role, just wanting to live vicariously through her "children".
>>
>>25902322
"MID, say hi to Asemu."
"Apparently MID is nanotech and is now acting like a replacement for my lost arm."
>>
>>25902326
Well, yeah, she teased the kids, but she was getting pretty aggressive towards Jake for flying Arthur's suit and looking like him.
I guess she really loved that guy, and she probably never got over him. Travis is hanging around her, mostly to keep an eye on her.
>>
>>25902322
Tell him about how Not-Emily has samples from him, and she's pretending to be a doctor and shit.
>>
>>25902322
Hmm. MID isn't shouting as much. Maybe the conversion to arm form required him to use some neural paths that he hadn't explored yet, and he's maturing as a result. He did say that he kept himself small because he likes to. Maybe it's the same mentally, and he's been keeping himself as a child because it's less complicated for him. Ripping out a man's eye and fusing yourself to your dying best friend to save his life is bound to cause a bit of a loss of innocence.

Anyway, what we say to Asemu:
"Oh, this? This is just my cyborg arm formed from the shape-shifting remains of an ancient robot. That's nothing new, I've always had this."
>>
>>25902485

"Oh, this? This is just my cyborg arm formed from the shape-shifting remains of an ancient robot. That's nothing new, I've always had this." You say, oozing with healthy sarcasim.

"Seriously Dirk what is that?"

"MID, say hi to Asemu." You ask as you wave your right arm at Asemu.

"Nice to see you again Asemu." MID says happily.

"Wait, THAT's MID?" Asemu's eyes grow wide in wonder and confusion.

"That's not the weirdest part. Apparently we had our seed stolen by a women posing as a doctor and I have to say...she looked a lot like your Mom..."

Asemu's eyes go wide, but he doesn't look all that shocked.
"I knew it...but how? Mom's supposed to be dead..."

(Well this looks like a good place to end things. Wow that took an unexpected turn with the arm thing. This is getting awesome! We'll head back to catch up on Jake. I don't think I'll be able to do it tomorrow though. Wednesday probably)
>>
>>25902551
The best part is it's technically true. Just, you know, we haven't shown it to him in this form yet.
>>
>>25902585
Sure thing. See you on Wednesday. Today was fucking awesome.

Man, we blew Asemu's mind again. First our X-Rounder powers crushing Zeheart, now MID...
>>
>>25902699
Agreed. This was fun. And we really need to stop shocking Asemu with bizarre situations. At this rate he's going to wind up becoming Captain Ash just to match our ranking on the Weird Shit-o-meter.
"Oh, you're a psychic cyborg who only exists due to time travel? Well I'm a space pirate hunting an ancient self-evolving war machine, and my son is space Jesus. How do you like me now, Dirk?"
>>
>>25902841
"I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the hateful screams of neverborn gods that exist outside of space and time. What was that?"
>>

Side note - Rena's going to flip out when she sees MID as our robo-arm.
