@GhostAdjutant

You're the leader of the Helldog mercenaries. Distinguished in combat against infested terrans and zerg. Your commander, Delta Phoenix, has ordered your team to take over the bridge of a Behemoth class Dominion battlecruiser attacking the planet Murric.

>"All other guns bow before this gun."
>"Whatever, Rio. Everyone knows that Johnny Lee Junior had the greatest gun of all time."
>"Johnny... Lee... man, you Koprulu sector types make the weirdest people famous."
>"No, let me tell you about Johnny Lee Junior. Greatest Confederate vulture pilot. After the war with the Kel-Morian Combine he had gunshot wounds covering ninety-five percent of his body. They had medics calling in other medics because they'd never seen a gunshot get shot before, so-"
>"Elliot you know what my favorite part of your stories is? The sound they make when they stop."

>"Alright, everybody shut up, now. We're about to crash into that docking bay, so get your asses ready."

The doors are open, vikings come and go for repairs, and it's your best spot to enter the battlecruiser. You brace yourself for a rough landing.

The ship goes down hard, and the door opens. Your 4-man squad pelts the deck crew with automatic fire as the Dropship spins around almost 360 degrees and slides down the docking bay.

>"Go! Go! Go!"
Your squad unloads and the support team steps out as well. One of the pilots comes over radio.

>"Aww hell, it's gonna take us a bit to get the landing gear up."
>"Just make sure you've got it by the time we get back."

It's time to plan your way to the bridge from the docking bay. Living quarters, armory, or the main hall.
>>
>>25899623
I'm thinking Living Quarters, less likely to be armed people in there. The Main Hall probably can be blocked off and barricaded by hostiles pretty easily, and the armory while it's full of guns is also likely full of enemies with said guns.
>>
>>25899623
Through the armory. Sabotoge it so the locals can't use it. Maybe we'll find something special there to.
>>
>>25899623
If we hit the armory hard and fast enough, the crew won't have time or the means to arm themselves, so we can slice through the rest of the ship like butter.

We can also stock up on explosives and other cool stuff in the armory.
>>
>>25899623
Living quarters

Armory and mess hall is most likely to have large concentration of enemy forces but when its battlestations Nobody is still in their racks
>>
>>25899623
What can we expect in the main Hall? Just engineers and crew?
Might be wise to go there, since the Armory no doubt has the most weapons...not sure.
>>
>>25899654
that works
>>
>>25899623
armory so we can keep as many as we can from getting armed
>>
>>25899678
There's probably going to be boarding defense teams where-ever you go, it's the fastest way to the bridge though.
>>
>>25899623
Armory is no point, its will be practically empty, guns would have been taken ages ago.

Could we get the teams personal profiles up?
As i remember nick having a under slung grenade launcher, good for the corridors of the living quarters.
>>
>>25899654
Its a possibility for a large ship like that there are multiple armories

You decide on taking out the armory. Without guns there won't be much resistance, hopefully. Your team activates their laser sights and you move down the Corridors quickly. There is minor resistance, the occasional armed marine without a CMC, but they rarely stand their ground for more than a second before they realize how full of bullets they are.

You reach the armory.

>"Nick, Grenade, go!"

The ordinance flies in through the door and rolls to a stop. A loud explosion, followed by several more loud explosions and screams, and you shut the door.

>"Elliot, wield it shut!"
>"Man, I love wielding."

Sparks fly and the armory is sealed and destroyed. You make for the bridge. Two men stand guard but you take them completely by surprise. Upon entering and a brief exchange of fire the last 4 guards inside the bridge go down.

You have effectively taken the bridge hostage. What do you do with it?
>>
>>25899953

Make sure entrances to the bridge are as secure as we can get them.

See if we can force the crew here to fire on their allies, on the other battle cruisers as well as the enemy Vikings and so on.

Also, we may want to force them to vent the ship.
>>
>>25899980

But defiantly have the ship start firing on the Vikings... Maybe send a message over to the Daluke that we have the bridge and have it's guns ready to thin the horde...

That way, we can co-ordinate our fire, meaning less friendly casualties and potential for higher enemy casualties...
>>
Elliot already goes to wield the doors shut. You're not sure if that's because it's a good idea or he's just enthusiastic about his specialization.

>"Alright listen up. Every gun you have is going to point at a Dominion ship. Every airlock you have that does not connect to this bridge is going to open."

A man stands up, a Navigator. Young, by the looks of him. You point your gun at him.

>"You gotta problem with that?"

>"None at all. Ensign White, prepare a firing solution for Teron, Fueron, and Phoenix 1's squads."

Your pod is shot out of the ship at several hundred miles per hour. On board thrusters will raise that number even higher before you break through the [REDACTED] ship's hull. You don't have any sensors. You're just ammunition.

You hold on tight to the bars keeping you in place. The pod begins to shake, and turn. Other pods are likely being shot down.

You're not so unlucky however. Your pod crashes through into the ship. It opens open and you step forward into what appear to be some sort of research labs.

>"Condition Juliet has been declared. All combat units to stations."

You stand up and take a look around. Protoss, Zerg, and Terran corpses are all floating in tanks of some green solution. There's a table at the center covered in blood. You'd rather not consider it's purpose.

>Current Objective: Disable Battlecruiser.
>Recommended Objectives: Engines, Bridge.
>Threat level: Unknown.

You will need information, first.

>Interrogate crew. Violently.
>Attempt to hack local systems, possibly alerting the ship to your presence.
>>
>>25900261

Really we don't have nearly enough crew to man another battleship. Murric (and not-Coruscant) could get it manned and running at full capacity very quickly though I should think.

And we'd be fucking heroes to boot.
>>
>>25900286

Could we grab a Crewman and make him access the local systems? That way, it wouldn't set off an alarm...

Or we could just use psyonics to take the information from him...

Ghost into the Engines. Get reads on crew.

They should be distracted about everything else happening.

They've been known to test experimental weaponry on rebels before.

We're dealing with hybrids here, and it's not going to be pretty. If we can record/get evidence of this, we should definitely do so, it'll go a long way in turning people against the Dominion even more.

Btw, who IS the new Emperor anyway? Valerian seems okay.

You stalk the shadows. The crews on board have a uniform that seems oddly familiar to you. Darker than standard Dominion. The hallways are mostly barren so taking a hostage shouldn't be difficult. This cruiser is very under-staffed for it's size. You sneak up behind a crewman and take him by the neck. You pull him back into the labs and strap him onto the table.

>"Y-you! They said you'd come!"

They. Ghosts.... Operatives.... Can't read his mind.

>"You have two options. Tell me what I want to know or I will remove your implants so I can find out."

You bring up your recon hand. The hidden blade unsheathes itself with a sinister snickt.

>"No, please! I don't know! I'm just an engineer, please!"

You bring your knife down to his temple and begin to apply pressure.

>"I don't know, they're spooks, Dominion! There's maybe 4 of them? They just call each other phonetic designations, please, that's all I know! I'm just an engineer!"
>"They're Ghosts?"
>"Yeah, man. They're psionic and can stealth and everything."
>"What's the purpose of these samples."
>"We've... I dunno, we're just going to different planets, we're collecting them for some other project, I don't know! I just run the engines!"

Your psionics at this point are powerful enough to pick up emotion despite his resistance. You believe he's telling the truth.

You move through the shadows, avoiding the occasional crew member who walks past. You make it to the central fission reactor and step towards the console.

A single shot rings out, you sensed it moments before and jump back.

>"Delta, Delta, Delta. I was just waxing goddam' nostalgic about you."

The man emerges from the shadows. Another ghost. Much older than you, much more experienced,

>"Zeta."

>"You we was comin'. I refuse to believe someone that I trained for so long could think putting the rogue marine she went on her last assignment with on planetary T.V. was a good idea. Especially when he's so god'amn boisterous."

You suddenly remember everything. You remember the fires over Daemos 9. The civilians burning alive as you tracked your target. The horrible things that Zeta had you do in the name of the Dominion.

And now, with your freedom, you will have your vengeance.

>Close for close combat. Zeta's a sniper and this needs to be personal.
>Beat him down with Psionics. Rip his mind apart.
>Hellfire grenades don't leave bodies. The last thing you need is something to remember him by.

well, we did train with the Protoss for something, didn't we?

Can we tell how strong his psionics are at all?

If not, yeah we need to get in close.

Play it safe, Delta!
He wants you to get mad and fuck up.

Throw a Hellfire grenade and use psionics at the same time. Two-pronged assault and the safest way to approach things.

Since our own psionics were kept in check by the dominion, I think it's better if we use a grenade and assault his mind, to confuse him in time for the grenade to kill him...or at least hurt him

If it fails, well...we do have advanced CLose combat for a reason.

>3 Hellfire grenades don't leave bodies. The last thing you need is something to remember him by.
>>

I agree psionics to lock him down and either an irradiation or hellfire grenade to take him out.
>>
>>25901158
>>25901190
I'm leery about the grenade, because if he's as skilled as we remember, then he'd probably just dodge it, and that would be a waste of a grenade.

Have we ever seen him fight hand-to-hand?
>>
Hellfire grenade AND Psionics, cmon!

You close the distance at a sprint, cybernetic hand raised, and eject the bloodied knife. Zeta stealths, assuming you don't have the sensors to see him. Well, he's in for a surprise. You hit him across the face and send his mask flying, revealing the old man beneath it, one dead eye and scars that are almost countless. Close combat was always one of your strong points. You manage to get the upper hand and stomp one of his knees inwards. He falls to the other knee, but doesn't make so much as a peep in pain. He continues taunting you.

>"We've already confirmed your other teams failed. The Hydron's going down as we speak. We'll take this planet and start a domino effect. There's no escape, Delta... The Dominion always wins."

You take his throat in your hands and raise your combat knife overhead.

>>Kill him. It's not worth it. You don't need to know everything.
Psionic probing would be extremely difficult, he could possibly show us whatever he wants, and we would be vulnerable while fighting him. There are 3 more ghosts on board.

Put him down while we can.
>>
>>25901712
...Shutting up now.

In any case, I still think it's too risky, especially since we have 3 other ghosts to deal with.

>>25901717

They completed their missions beforehand.
>>
>>25901740
Adjutant already told us we're stronger then him mentally.
>>
>>25901717

The problem is it makes us vulnerable: either to attacks from other ghosts (we know he's not likely alone) or psychic retaliation from Zeta.

As it is now we've got him over a barrel - let's not give him the opportunity to do any damage as we show him the door.
>>
>>25901741

Cliffhangers after we've confirmed the success of their missions.

The only thing now in dispute is if they've survived.
>>
>>25901752
I'm talking about their safety, not the success of the mission.
>>
>>25901760
it could be a trap
>>
>>25901760
No, there is literally such things as mind shields (are they called that?). They block mind-reading and can be moderately disrupting to the ghost, IIRC. I wouldn't put it past these guys to be wearing some.
>>
>>25901760

We can't afford to weaken ourselves probing him with three other ghosts on board.
>>
>>25899479
Why is the OP pic not a ghost in a Ghost Quest thread? That's a spectre.
>>
>>25901712

With a swift strike you end Zeta's life.

It doesn't bring you any solace. You are just burdened with the memories of previous missions.

You head for the reactor. You could disable it but it'd be back online within minutes. The only solution is to set it to go Critical.

You shoot the console once your work is done. By the time they know what's going on it'll be too late. You head for the ship's drop pods, they're the only escape in range. Sure, hurtling at Murric in a Dominion drop pod may not be the best solution, but it's the only one.

You run down the empty halls of the Phoenix 1. Explosions and critical electrical lines spark all around you. You enter the pod and shoot yourself away.

>"Adjutant... Track my position. If anyone's left, send a ground team to my coordinates."
>"I have detected multiple ejections from the D.S.S. [REDACTED], commander. Several drop-pods are inbound to your location."

You brace for impact...
