Your voice goes a bit lower. "There wasn't a first date, Rose..." You straighten up in your seat, keeping your speech clear and proper. You're fine talking about Roy's midnight chats or Rose's psychotic stalkers, but now that you're the subject of discussion...

You are the Commander of the M26E1 Pershing heavy tank "Black Jack" and you did not go out on a date with Yukari. Dammit, all you did was walk her home. And meet her parents. And watch a movie with her. And leave your jacket on her when she fell asleep so she wouldn't get cold.

...IT WASN'T A DATE!

"Wait, Commander went on a date?" Richard says from the driver's seat. "Yukari? The loader?" You practically hear his grin. Goddammit. "That's so sweet!" He practically squeels. "I knew you'd find someone!"

"That's what I said!" Rose says happily, knowing that you were already halfway to opening up the commander's hatch and running for the hills from this conversation. "She loves tanks. He commands one of the baddest tanks in Japan. Match made in heaven!"

You sigh a bit, checking your watch. Another four minutes of awkward conversation. Time to throw it back in their face. "Well, with all the movies I've watched with you..." You relax a bit in your seat, knowing that Rose is going to go apeshit at this one. "Guess you must be a bit jealous that my cinematic tastes have moved on." There is no reply. Bingo. "Or have you been watching movies with Patrick now?" You continue with a smile. "...or Richard? How scandelous! Guess all those times we watched movies together..." You let the sentence hang.

"Wait... I did what with Rose?" Patrick says...

"Shut up, Patrick." Rose says quickly. "Three minutes until we're on the hunt." She says, ice cold. Guess that conversation is over.

Three minutes is going to be a long time for an awkward silence.

"So..." You start, unwilling to sit in silence for that long. "What I gotta know, Patrick, is how- in a school where the women literally outnumber the men a hundred to one- you've managed to stay completely unattached."

"I'm a strong Irishman who don't need no woman!" He says, snapping his fingers for emphasis. "I'm a quite happy being unattached!" He concludes happily.

You cock an eyebrow. "Really?" You say, not believing a word of that. "Sure you aren't just worse with women than I am?" Well, Richard aside, none of the guys on the crew were terribly good with women. Roy was shy, Patrick was... Patrick, and you had a tendency to panic at the very hint of romance.

"A little of column A, a little of column B..." He says, shrugging it off. "Besides, I've got the internet..." Classic Patrick- not giving a fuck about what the world thinks of him- it's halfway between an odd sort of noblity and mental defect.

"Oh gross..." Rose says, rolling her eyes. "If you're bragging about that, no wonder none of these girls will touch you."

The strategy they pulled in the show with the Maus, ie alone except a scout in an urban setting, is only really tenable when nothing on the enemy team can penetrate its armor. The thought of their heavy tank line formed up around that monster and crawling across the plains is a frightening one
>>
>>26083183
>The thought of their heavy tank line formed up around that monster and crawling across the plains is a frightening one
We can reliably pen the Maus with HVAP, dude. Our 90mm with HVAP is pure fucking hax.
>>
>>26083224
Inb4 they get a Ratte or something.
>>
>>26083224
Is that taking into consideration they might angle their armor or do we punch straight through anyway?
>>
>>26083183
The operative word there is "crawling". If they want to stay in formation with it they're going to be going at the pace of a moderate jog.
>>
>>26083224
Yes, which is why they wouldn't leave it unsupported
>>
>>26083244
Functional tanks only. The Ratte never got off the drawing board and besides that is economic suicide for anyone trying to build or run it and is otherwise too goddamn heavy to function properly.
>>
"Alright, time to roll!" You say as you check your watch. "Ten minutes is up... Richard, back us up- Miho probably left a rear guard to take us out if we follow her directly." You need to get out of Oldtown- Miho's already brought her four surviving tanks out- probably heading aft towards the hills and woods you'd battled in last week.

"Roger- maybe take the starboard access road?" He says- he's been studying maps of the ship. "Probably less traffic out there and it's a bit lower than the rest of the ship, should keep us nice and hidden."

"Sounds good. Just keep your eyes open." You say, opening up the commander's hatch. "Last time they got us in those woods they got the drop on us. That's not going to happen again." You slide up to a standing position, blinking in the sudden morning light.

>Go for the River, it'll give us the best mobility to find and attack.
>Skirt around to the mountains- we can get defilade and we'll have a better view.
>Go straight for the woods- they won't expect us to charge in that aggressively.
>>
>>26083266
Which favors them, honestly. Less chance of track malfunction or fuel issues, and so long as they keep a few tanks detached to flush us out it could be tough
>>
>>26083312
>Go straight for the woods- they won't expect us to charge in that aggressively.
>>
>>26083266
Obviously, it tops out at around 13 kph going in a straight line, on a paved road. Off-raod, it'll be moving at a brisk walking pace, at best.
>>26083317

No. It doesn't. They'll be pracitcally stationary to keep formation with it. Fish in a barrel.

Sergei Siminov is rolling in glorious people's grave.

He made mighty carbine that is sighted in with bayonet fixed so you can shoot while you charge and kill people before you kill people, unlike rifle of Kalashnikov which is sighted in on moonless night in different room from target and cannot hit point of aim smaller than medium sized barn.

Going for "Keep moving" because the lack of doing such was what got us painted.

the rules are pretty much "If it was built before V-Day, its legal" and that goes for any modifications or equipment, as long as something was built with it, or modified with it, before the end of the war, its legal

Wouldn't the T29 and T30 both be legal then since they weren't just going through trials, there were planned orders for them before the Japs surrendered.
>>
>>26083725
yep, the 29, 29E4, 30, 32 and 34 would all be legal, if you could convince the americans to let you run around in the only existing examples...
>>
>>26083725
If there were full prototypes produced by V-day, they're legal. Is it that hard to understand?

Panther II, TOG II, and Valiant are also legal.

I think that it would be wise to rule out going for the woods, while Miho might not expect it, it would be easy for her to react to and, once surprise is lost, plays to her advantages. Likewise, I think we can rule out the river, it seems obvious given both our advantages and personality, so it is probably a trap. Knowing this, it seems to me that the best plan would be to

The question does tend to come up since the initial designs were completed before then, but they were fine-tuning some, like the T34, until 49.

>>26083751
They have all those plus the T28 at Benning...well not a 29E4, they only have the E3.

From what I can tell, most of the tanks used in the show are either reproductions or made with reproduction parts.
>>
>>26084002
If I recall correctly the league does have licensed reproduction part manufacturers, but I don't know what the policy on complete scratchbuilds is
>>
>>26084048
I'd say full rebuilds are accepted, provided they use period appropriate materials and such.

Considering how rare tanks that old sometimes are these days. In the real world theres only 1 still operational Tiger in the whole world for example.
Or how Oarai can have the only Porsche Tiger just laying around.
>>
>>26084726
Admittedly, I can see old tanks like that surviving for far longer if they're constantly maintained, used, and repaired...as they would be if Senshado has been going on for a while
>>
>>26083881
Except since Tankery treats penning shots as knock-outs and doesn't have WoT's arcadey hitpoint system to balance it, the TOG II would merely be a slower, undergunned, under-armored Maus. In other words, useless, unless you absolutely had to block a bridge or narrow path.
>>
>>26084726
It'd have to be a hell of a lot more expensive to completely build a tank though, otherwise it'd be trivial for teams to buy directly for their team composition. And, yukari's gushing about how rare certain tanks would be cheapened if they were common
>>
"Pass me the map..." You say down through the intercomm. Richard passes it over to Patrich, who passes it up to Rose who, in turn, passes it to you. You follow the access road. "Right, take us up the road- it looks like you can turn off and get up into the hills- We'll have good defilade up there, and we can pick them off as we see them..." You circle the turn off with a pen and pass it back down to Richard.

"Got it." He says, putting a bit more gas into the engine to get Black Jack going a bit faster.

"So..." Rose says "If we get up there, what's to keep them from just staying back and hiding for the next hour?" It's a good point- the idea was for them to stay alive, not disable you.

Or just get a shipload of sweets.

Either way, If you've ever been on actual rations, you'll know that the base ration grade is never enough. More is always good.

"Once we get up there, we'll let them know where we are- if they don't show up for about 30min, we'll reposition and get after them." You say, checking the hills with your binoculars as Black Jack approaches.

It only takes about fifteen minutes to cross the length of the Oorai Academy carrier. Between the fact that the road kept to the outskirts of the deck, as well as the thick woods keep your approach hidden. You hope, anyway. Miho's a damned canny commander and she's got a good instinct for figuring out what her adversaries are going to do before they think of it themselves.

Which is why you're only almost caugh off guard when, as Black Jack comes to the intersection where you turn off to head up the mountain, you manage to pick out a bit of the hills that are just a bit too flat and angular. You see a flash. "Richard stop! STOP!" You shout and he immediately applies the brakes as a 75mm round, hits the road where you would've been if you hadn't stopped, covering it with a large blue paint splotch.

"Identify StuG III, distance 300 yards!" They've got an excellent defensive position- its low profile is mostly hidden by the edge of the hill its sitting on, and it's got an excellent zone of fire down on you.

Can someone explain the picture I've seen in previous threads where Yukari hands Miho a cheese sandwich?
>>
>>26086600

Based on a British tanker's story where, just when everything was going to shit around him, someone hands him a cheese sandwich out of fucking nowhere
>>
>>26086600
It's based on a quote by Lt. Ken Giles, a British tank commander during WWII, talking about an incident that happened when he was in command of an M3 Grant.
"The 75mm is firing but the 37mm is firing traverse round the wrong way. The Browning has jammed. I am saying 'driver advance' on the radio set and the driver, who cannot hear me, is reversing and as I look out of the top of the turret and see 12 enemy tanks 50 yards away someone hands me a cheese sandwich."

I'd second this if we were using "live" rounds, where only the StuG and the Pz IV have a decent chance to take us out, but here they only need to hit us with their popguns. (Probably because of insane amounts of rage originating from the automotive club.)

Better play it safe!
>>
"Putting you on target, Rose." You've got enough time for a single shot while they reload. Cold bore at a target with an excellent defensive position. At the very least you might scare them into a premature retreat. As you bring the turret around onto the StuG you shout down to Rose "On target!"

It only takes her a second to say "Firing!" before the T54 opens up.

You see the paint round impact on the rocks just below the StuG's position. "Richard, pull back!" You need to get Black Jack into some cover before you get frozen again. "Back behind the bend!"

Richard instantly reverses your Pershing backwards, turning slighly to cut the bend must closer than he had going forward. There wasn't a lot of spare time either- almost as soon as you disappear from their view, another 75mm paint round impacts along the bank you're hiding behind.

"Richard, we got any more routes up there?" You say, trying to remember the map. "If we can't move around her, we're going to be stuck." The problem was, though, that every second you spent back here, was a second Miho was moving the other three tanks to in to freeze you again. You bite your lip to keep from cursing.
