@GhostAdjutant

You were a ghost operative of the Terran Dominion, under Emperor Arcturus Mengsk. Your Codename is Delta Phoenix. You received a transmission from Korhal. "The Emperor is Dead. Long live the Emperor. "

It seems like a lifetime since the fall of Korhal disabled your neural inhibitor and you went rogue. With the help of a rogue Dominion Marine, Jacob Henderson, you and your small crew secured a Gorgon-Class battlecruiser you now call The Daluke. The Dominion, bounty hunters, and criminal scum alike are all after you with a massive 1.5 billion credit bounty on your head. But they're going to have to earn it, first.

You are currently organizing the rebels on New Albuquerque to keep the bloodshed to a minimum once you kill Governor Lakas. The invitations have been sent and you're awaiting your arrivals.
>>
The first arrival is Aixa Centeno Heredia, leader of the Shipbuilder's rebellion, by dropship no less. She's accompanied by no one, as requested, but you clearly see a pistol at her side. She approaches you and Charlie but remains silent. Soon you hear the roar of additional engines. It's a police dropship, your contact with the police spies, Iselda Mejía Sánchez. Aixa pulls her gun out.

>"You set me up! Fuckin' ghost!"
>"Calm down. It's on your side. Hopefully."

Several more dropships, vultures, and a few ATVs arrive in the next few seconds. Among them are Berta Maldonado, the very large leader of the NAPA. Ettiene Munguia, leader of Los Rosas. Justiniano Valencia of the rogue bankers.
Akira Esquibel of the firefighters. Concordia Cruz, the nun in charge of the Missionaries. Jessie Aranda, the tall dark stranger in charge of the mysterious guild. Karen Cortés, the vixen commanding the heartbreakers with her good-looks and scars. Major Thomás Rosales, commander of the Rogue Army Division. The leader of the Buffalo Riders, Adelmar Alemán. The scrappy leader of the Yard Workers, Dugen Lemus Vela. And lastly, Lemuel Baca, representing the rogue engineers. Once you're satisfied they're all here, you begin to speak.
>>
>>26108954
Alright, I called you all here today to settle a little matter regarding a mutual enemy.

You all hate him as much as you hate each other, so it'd probably be more efficient to get him out of the way before you start whacking each other off. Though, I hope that you guys will actually talk things out so that there won't be so many whackings in the aftermath.

>"As you've all been made aware I am the party responsible for your anonymous schematics."

>"Who are you, exactly?"

>"That's not important. What is important is my mission here. Governor Lakas is going to die. You are equipped to deal with any remaining presence he has."

The banker's leader speaks up.

>"What's the catch?"

>"No catch, just one difficulty. I don't want the colony to devolve into full on civil war."

The leader of the Yard Workers responds.

>"So what, we just sit back and let these Banker assholes do the exact same thing as soon as you're gone? I ain't workin' with them!"

>"You have a problem with me? At least I didn't vote for him like the Shipbuilder's unions."

>"Yeah, you just stuffed his pockets and let him take over tha' whole fuckin' planet!"

At this point it essentially devolves into a shouting match, pointed fingers, and the blame game. Nun insults whore, blue collar worker yells at white collar, military threatens criminal.

Charlie raises her sidearm and fires into the sky. The resulting gunshot returns their attention to you.

>"Thank you. Now I already know Don Javelito had agreements with most of you. However, I also happen to know that he planned to kill -all- of you once the rebellion was completed. Unlike him I have no desire to stay here, so you will organize yourselves and behave like adults or I will find rebels who can."

Charlie gives you a sidelong glance. She didn't expect you to pull them together quite so forcefully.

Karen is the first to recognize the situation and, thusly, the first to speak.

>"What do you need us to do?"
>>
>>26108954

Inform them that we are the origin of the weapons schematics and shipments they've recieved. Inform them we have an interest in regime change and establishing a fairly elected, democratic government on New Albuquerque. Inform them we would like to discuss strategy and tactics for pulling off the coup.
>>
>>26109040
I'm going to take out Lakas. You are going to figure out how to form a coherent government that isn't a corrupt piece of crap.
>>
>>26108954
"The people you see across the table from you, each and every one of them is on your side, like it or not. Whatever political differences you may all have that can be worked out later, under proper channels and not at the end of a pistol or cannon head. That's what you all hate this man for, is it not?
Good. I need you all to work together to take down whatever remaining force this man will have once me and my associate kill him. They will be scattered, but not harmless, so don't be foolish.
Once that is complete, you will settle on having civil discussion on the sort of government that will replace his. How that discussion goes, entirely, is not up to me, but there must be, and will be, compromise, or no one will get anything they want.

Do any of you have a problem with this?"
>>
>>26109040

"I will take care of the governor personally. You will coordinate your forces and protect civilians from retaliation by Lakas' loyalists. After the coup, there will be a summit where you can put forward your grievances in an organized manner and negotiate the planet's future governance. I can fly in neutral observers and legal teams from Murica if you want to set up a truth and reconciliation commission and a court of law to publically try Lakas' accomplices."
>>
>>26109040
First any and all information they have on the exact whereabouts of Governor Lakas and whoever else we will need to take out to make the transition smoother.

Several of them seem to agree, but you can sense dissension.

>"Good. I need you all to work together to take down whatever remaining force this man will have once me and my associate kill him. They will be scattered, but not harmless, so don't be foolish."

>"Once that is complete, you will settle on having civil discussion on the sort of government that will replace his. How that discussion goes, entirely, is not up to me, but there must be, and will be, compromise, or no one will get anything they want."

You scan the assembled, reading them for disagreement.

>"I can fly in neutral observers and legal teams from Murric if you want to set up a truth and reconciliation commission and a court of law to publicly try Lakas' accomplices."

>"Do any of you have a problem with this?"
>"I do."

The police spy's leader stands and kneels her knuckles heavily on the table.

>"I've been preaching to kids my entire career about taking candy from strangers. I'm not going to agree to work with criminals because you tell me what to do. I need to know what you're getting out of this or I'm walking."
>>
>>26109113
>I plan on using the space ports. Simple as that.

That's all we're after right? Except schematics that is.
>>
>>26109113

"You want me to be honest about my motives? I'm tired of seeing frontier worlds exploited by petty dictators like Lakas, or insane tyrants like Mengsk. I'm tired of corruption, of squabbling, of lies and deceit when the threat of aliens looms large and the UED may decide to pay us a visit again. And to be perfectly honest with you, my long-term vision is to forge an alliance of free worlds that can work together to stand against the Dominion."
>>
>>26109113
what I want in return is a safe haven and recruits in the future as well as schematics for starports and starvessels.

If you want to be more specific, some people I trust didn't sit well with rebels here getting killed when we could have done something to save lives.
>>
>>26109113
"What I get out of this is simple, a friendly planet that won't try to screw me over, and as much technology and units as I can carry, the question you should be asking is, what do you get out of this? Do you like the existing corrupt government, that would pay me a lot of money to bring all of your heads to them, or do you want to take this chance, and build a government that this planet deserves?
>>
>>26109113
"What am I getting out of this? I don't quite see why you care, but if you must know...
I don't like Tyranny. Or Dictators. Long story, really, but if you must have the whole story, I can tell you. It's not like you can look at me and have no idea anyway."

They surely recognize we were once from the Dominion.
>>
>>26109138

"But for the moment? I need free use of your starport facilities, free access to tech schematics, and as many SCV crews as you can spare."
>>
>>26109113

"What we get is simple. A place where we can trade and resupply. I do not create things. That is a skill help by others. All I am trained in is death and destruction, so I shall kill and destroy that which is corrupt in the hopes that those who can build will do so and create something better. If you do not wish to partake in this undergoing, feel free to leave, As once the Governor is dead, Me and my Colleague will be taking our leave. If and When we return, I hope it is to a world better than how we will be leaving it. If not, then we will just keep doing what we do until something sticks..."

>"I'll be getting what I need. What I need is to crush every petty tyrant. Every dictator. What I need are ships, spaceports, and recruits for this mission. What I need is a unified fringe, able to resist incursions of the Dominion. What I need is for you to stop killing yourselves so that when the Zerg or Protoss invade you'll provide more than 5 minutes of resistance."

The woman relaxes, then sits in her chair. She thought you were a Dominion operative up until that point, as did several others.

Charlie speaks up, next.

>"We have information on every major installation and the likely attack points when the government declares martial law after Lakas death. Each of you will be responsible for the control of you own city."

The engineer speaks.
>"So we won't expect any more help from you two once Lakas is dead, then?"
>>

>>

>>
>>26109257
>>26109247

Before you even vocalize the question, you sense Charlie in your head.

>"Military support. We're two ghosts, we can't provide any."
>>
>>26109216
Let's not say no as there might be other targets that we can get out of their way to help the process along. Make sure they know we aren't going to help put their government together, but anything before that we could maybe help with.

If we are going to help this rebellion it's we better not half ass it.
>>
>>26109216
I've already provided schematics. We're not exactly rolling in resources either...but you be sure to let me know if there's a particular installation, defense grid, or leader giving you trouble. We are ghosts, after all.

"This is your planet. You are the one's suffering under his rule. We will cut off the head, but the body is something which only you all can deal with. As I stated, I have no personal stake in your planet. If I were to return with a fleet and an army, do you think that other Ex-dominion forces would let you have control of your planet? Most of the other units out there are self-interests. If they remove your current government, they will set up shop themselves. I offer you not an easy option, but the opportunity to take control of your planets future. We have provided Schematics for various units and production facilities, and we shall be removing the Governor. If there are other HVTs which you could provide the location and reasons why they are vital to the Governor's forces response, then I shall see about removing them as well, though apart from the Governor himself, I offer no promises."

Lakas doesn't suspect we're out to get him. We could just set up a meeting with him under the pretext of getting more work cleaning out the cartel.
>>

>>Full ghost gear.
>>
>>26109360
The cartel's operations have been reduced by 71% since your intervention, commander.
>>
>>26109367

Surely Lakas is aware of all those other rebel groups and may want help with them? Of course, we can't let him know WE know about them.
>>
>>26109378
While it is possible, he has put forward no official request for mercenaries or bounty hunters.

It is incredibly likely that due to the nature of these rebels the government is attempting to keep their existence secret.

In fact that is the reason one or more of these rebel groups even exist.
>>
>>26109387

All right. Is the Governor's building accessible from the outside? Could we climb its exterior while cloaked? Any detection systems?
>>
>>26109399
The building is several stories tall. Entrance can be granted either by the roof or destroying one of the multiple windows.

Scanners indicate no detection systems at this time.
>>
>>26109387

Well, we could still set up a meeting with him, under the pretext of negotiating starport access and buying ships from him.
>>
>>26109407

Do we know guard patrol routes inside the building? Any civilians that could come under crossfire? Does the governor have a wife? Children?
>>

All levels of the building are occupied by a large number of civilians.

The governor has a wife and 2 daughters.

You kick off the air conditioner's shielding. The vents are slightly smaller than normal and you find yourself immensely frustrated by being forced to squeeze into such a small space. You're able to still move relatively quietly. Your HUD guides the way and you drop down into his office. He's looking out of the oversized window and talking on the phone.

>"So just get more boys to the Starport and tell them to keep at it. I can't have them on strike now, we don't have enough vikings for the contract."

He blows a loud plume of smoke as he listens. You and Charlie slowly sneak up behind him. You start to feel slow with all this sneaking, why haven't you killed him already? You prepare your side-arm and take aim.

Your rage momentarily rises but your aggression inhibitor kicks on.

>"I don't do hasty. I'm a ghost."

>"People of New Albuquerque. I am Governor Lakas. Many of you suspect or have suspected that corruption runs rampant within our system. I am... being forced to tell you today that it is... partially true. The system that demands so much of you in return for so little is by design."

>"The truth is that our military forces have discovered a brood mother operating within our nearby systems. Multiple zerg contacts have threatened our operations for the last 5 years, and we have kept this information from you to prevent any sort of widescale panic. Everything that has been done, everything that I have done, was to protect you."

The man's voice starts to crack. His thoughts shift from logic and reason and into the incoherent fear that plagues the minds of men about to die. You know it all too well.

>"Girls, remember that daddy loves you. Cheryl, I-"

You snap his neck. You didn't promise him a goodbye.

>"I've forwarded it to our rebel friends. They'll know what to do with it, Delta."

You nod, but you aren't satisfied. The man's husk brings you no respite. You leave the building as quickly and as silently as you came and make for your dropship.

A single man sits on the dropship's cockpit. His dark clothes and signature hat tell you who he is before he even speaks.

>"You have done it then? You returned to free my people?"
>"Your people will free themselves. I did what I needed to."
>"And... my son?"
>"He is aboard my ship, with his grandmother."
>"I see. You have done more for me than I have done for you."

The man slides down from his high perch, and offers you a bow.

>"I, the humble Enrique, offer my services to you. You have spared my life and that of my son. For this I am eternally grateful."

>"Good. Let's go."

You break atmo and start your orbit. As the computer calculates the jump back to the Daluke you can hear the rebel yell of the New Albuquerqueans.

>"We've got tanks on the high ground, let 'er rip!"
>"That's a lot of chunks."

The jump is prepared for a hasty escape. Charlie has calculated the location of the Governor's family. They've been recalled home to the Lakas compound as soon as the fighting started. the compound has a sensor network that can detect you, and a handful of personal guards and automated defenses at the perimeter. You will have to disable the perimeter to rescue them.

It's fortunate for the Lakas family that you arrived when you did. Several of the New Albuquerque People's Army tanks are sieged up in position and about to open fire by the time you arrive. If you disable the perimeter the compound will be over-run with rebels. If you leave it, you'll have to deal with Lakas' guards and sensors.
>>
>>26110270
Extraction first, then disable defenses. They'll think the bastard was lonely I suppose.
>>
>>26110248
We ARE going to the Lakas compound, no? We should be able to find some nice loot in the ex-Governor's office

>>26110270
If we disable the siege line, we're wasting our time and rebels will be able to rush the hell out of the compound. I suggest we sneak in, offer the opportunity to escape to those willing and kill those that decline. I assume the compound has a transport or secret exit
>>
>>26110270

He was talking to someone who had intel on the zerg. He also knew they'd taken out three mining stations. We need access to all information on zerg attacks in the sector.
>>
>>26110308
We'll need to evac them somehow, and we can't let the rebels find out that we have their targets or it'll strain our relationship with them, and make acquisition of Starport/air unit schematics harder to obtain. Also, loot Governor's room for intel on Zerg
>>
Hey guys. That broodmother Lakas is talking about... could it be connected to the zerg presense on that mineral-rich volcanic world?

The dropship flies overhead, unable to be touched by the various ground-based defenses. You and Charlie jump off and land. The ship takes off to circle overhead until you need extraction.

The HUD registers two possible ways to disable security.

You head to the compound's entrance. It's guarded by two CMC marines, but they don't stand much chance against two ghosts, even with sensors online. It's when you open the door and the auto-turret on the floor opens fire that you have a problem. Then the additional six marines. Those are also a problem.

Then there's the siege tank blowing a huge hole into the skylight above you and raining glass down. It doesn't hurt or anything but it's kind of annoying.

You sense the location of the six marines with your psionics. You draw your sidearm, and keep your C-20-A in your mainhand.

You round out to the right from the pillar you were behind and take careful aim in the half-second you can. The first marine takes a canister shot to the shoulder, then through his visor. You chose him first specifically because he was the only left-handed squad member and you don't want an oddball screwing up your game. You head for the stairs to the left quickly. The marines are slow to respond as they were all expecting you to head the other direction. The second marine goes down. C-20 through the chest cavity. Nothing left.

You feint towards them, jumping into the air as you do. Your sidearm eliminates one of the marines, the rifle another. You kick the fifth to the ground and round both weapons on the sixth marine.

He drops his gun and holds up his hands.

>"I, uh, I give up."

You shrug, then wave him away with your weapons. He runs out the front door.

You move through the halls of the oversized house before you make it to the security room. You sense another squad of marines, about half a dozen. They've taken up defensive positions and are aimed at the door.

You open the door and hug one side, Charlie on the other. You place the C-20 through the room and hear the signature noises.

Thunk.
>"GRENADE!"
Bang.

You both enter the room and are started to discover them still aimed at you. Apparently the visors these marines are equipped with are shielded against flashbangs.

You duck behind one of the nearby consoles reflexively, and are able to kill two marines before they even begin to return fire. Charlie ducks behind a different console, taking significantly more fire.

You vault over two consoles, not only leaping your own cover but also leaping onto one of the marines behind their own. As he gains his bearings you have a flank of his entire squad and empty an entire clip into them. There are no survivors. You point your weapon at the marine you're currently standing on. He doesn't register that your weapon is empty.

You're not particularly sure you need a prisoner.

Charlie heads to the security console to deactivate the sensors, but not before finding the location of the family. Naturally there's a panic room in this house's basement. Additionally, the location of an armory and Lakas' study are found, though you will only have time to visit one of them, if either.

>"She's already found our target. We've disabled your security. You don't seem particularly useful to me, marine. Why should I let you live?"

Apart from the distant boom and shaking of siege tanks shelling the compound, everything goes silent for a moment.

Then you get to the important files. Those about New Albuquerque's defense.

The broodmother was first sighted a few years back. They just thought feral Zerg were roaming around. The attacks have increased in purpose, focused on stealing minerals, gas, and personnel. They have no idea where she's operating out of and strikes apparently happen at random. You download the information to review it closer later. For now, you have to continue.

You run for the panic room. Most of the building seems to be abandoned at this point. The fire consumes most of the walls and large chunks of concrete routinely fall as the siege tanks pound away.

Charlie opens the panic room's door and you step in. The woman's face goes white as she recognizes you.

>"You... You're the one who did this."
>"I don't have time to explain. I am here to save you. Come with me if you want your children to live."
>"Like hell I will!"

The girls hide behind the woman who pulls out a sidearm. You don't have much time to try and talk her out of this.

>1 Try and calmly talk her down.

It's around this time when you realize the adjutant was offering suggestions. For whatever reason you've already punched her across the face and knocked her out cold. No time to think on it, however.

>"Charlie. Chef... marine... Get the girls. We need to get out of here."

You leave the ruined building as it shudders in on itself, on the verge of collapse. The large lawn, once green and well kept, is full of craters and parts of Lakas' security guards. The dropship lands at a slope and everyone barrels in. You leave the scene just as the rebel forces break down the wall and storm the mansion in waves.

You make for orbit and warp drives are charged. Within a single jump you will be back aboard the Daluke.

lets make sure the family is kept secure and apart from the general crew of the Daluke, but also treated fairly

((I think I'm going to end it here since the thread died down a good deal. I'm not sure if I want to do these earlier or later in the day yet so not sure when I'll be doing the next one 'tomorrow', so keep an eye on the twitter. I might do it around 17:00 4chan time, uh, today I guess, but it's the weekend so I also might actually play starcraft because mech terran is best terran and I need to practice.))

confine the family to quarters for the time being. Introduce the new Chef to his place of work and leave Charlie to help him acclimatize to his new job...

Then we can get a debriefing of how the work is going on Murric.

So we've decapitated the leadership and thrown the planet into chaos. Let's hope they recover before the zerg invasion, eh. Also, the broodmother's seemingly random attack pattern intrigues me. Is she after something in particular?

Also, what abilities does Enrique have?
>>
>>26111498

they are still on a war footing, so they should have the military capacity to hold off the Zerg. I doubt they will be bickering over who is in charge when the Zerg are at the gates....

You give them far too much credit. Anyway, we need to crunch the data and see what the zerg brood is like in terms of size and capabilities.
