You are Christopher Phillips, previously just another teenage nerd living in a small English town, and a lot of things have changed in your life since you died.

You suppose this had to happen sooner or later. You knew there was something strange about your new friend, Masami. The weird pendant. The strange behaviour. And the fact that nearly everyone around here seems to have some sort of contact with the supernatural. You expected that introducing her to Avril, a Fae and your most trustworthy source of information about the supernatural, might tell you more about what’s going on.

You weren’t expecting a fight to break out in the middle of a cinema lobby. Unfortunately, the moment Avril and Masami touched hands, Avril flinched away and then took up a distinctly martial stance, and Masami has adopted a mirroring stance. Neither of them seems to be paying any attention to the crowd of people filling the lobby. If you don’t think of something fast, this could get extremely messy.

[]Try to talk them down. Remind them where they are and the attention this might draw.
[]Jump in between them and try to separate them. Call Jill over for some help.
[]Try to keep Avril away from Masami. She’s a fair bit smaller and weaker looking than Avril, so this fight might end up a bit one-sided if you don’t step in.
[]Try to keep Masami away from Avril. Avril is the one you can trust and rely on. You don’t really know much about Masami’s motives. Protecting Avril should be your focus.

We want to remain on good terms with both of them, though obviously we'll side with Avril if peace is impossible. Our first goal, however, should be to get the skinny as to what's going on. If that isn't working, then we

You step forward a little, not quite between them but close enough that you can put a hand on each of their shoulders. You try to whisper a little, not letting the crowd hear what you're discussing.

"Calm down, people. We're in the middle of a cinema here. Can we talk about things? What's wrong?"

Both Avril and Masami are now growling, but neither of them is leaping at the other just yet, so you press on.

"I don't think either of you want to have a fight in the middle of a room full of innocent people, do you? Does someone want to tell me what's going on here?"

Avril doesn't take her eyes off Masami for a second. "Can't you feel it, Chris? Her blood, her skin, her aura, they're all filled with corruption. She's the spawn of something terrible and foul."

Masami looks a little confused for a moment, but then her expression turns angry. "How dare you? I... I am holy and pure. I bear the blood of the new humanity." She doesn't sound entirely certain, but she's not backing down.

You're fairly sure you're going to have to get these two physically separated if you want to calm them down (and stop them from saying things which just make the other one even more angry). Fortunately Jill has sorted out the tickets, and as soon as she saw the three of you huddled up and tense she hurried over to help.

Do you want to leave Jill with Masami, and try to get some answers out of Avril, or leave Jill with Avril and try to get some answers out of Masami?

Leave Jill with Avril. Jill will be a calming influence, and will have a better idea of what questions to ask Masami than Jill will, whereas Avrilwil probably just start telling Jill what she knows. You step aside to let Jill take Avril's arm, and quietly ask her to find out what's going on from Avril. Taking Masami gently by the arm, you lead her to a more isolated looking corner of the lobby, where you can talk without too much worry about eavesdropping.

"Okay, Masami, what was that? You looked like you were ready to punch Avril's face in."

"I... I didn't start it! She knew about me somehow, and she looked like she was going to attack me. I thought she was from one of the other branches of my family's church, come to take me back. Then she said those things about my blood being corrupt... I'm not corrupt. I'm holy. They always said I was holy..." She trails off, turning to you and sniffling. Her eyes are starting to tear up. "I don't feel corrupt. I don't feel terrible and foul. I... I know my family wasn't very nice to me, but they're still my family. Why did she have to say those mean things?"

You try to find some words, but are suddenly interrupted by Jill tapping you on the shoulder. She looks worried, and you can see Avril standing a little way back, scowling at both of you. "Chris? Can I talk to you for a second? Alone."

Also, this quest is great and you should feel great. It's nice that somebody can turn a game that "seems" to cater to the Twilight audience into something this good. Well, she's building her harem, so she takes care of not taking angels in when she already has a possessed girl (Jill) in.
>>

"Of course, Jill, just... give me a few seconds.

Masami, your blood doesn't make you corrupt, or holy either. Your actions do. I don't know what your family are exactly, or why Avril's so upset, but I know you can be different from them. I trust you can be different from them, otherwise I wouldn't be your friend. Now, wait here for a moment while I go see what Jill has to say, okay?"

Masami nods, although she's still sniffling a little, and Jill pretty much drags you aside.

"What the heck is going on? Avril just told me that Masami's basically walking poison. Apparently she's carrying latent demonic corruption or something and sooner or later she's going to turn into a demon herself. A really nasty demon, too, Avril says they want to corrupt the whole of humanity and drown the world beneath the waves and so on. What do we do? I mean, she seems all sweet and kind, but if she's inevitably going to turn into a horrible demon... Avril doesn't want us to have anything more to do with her, I think she'd have killed Masami if you hadn't stopped them." She shakes her head. "I'm still so new to all this supernatural stuff, I don't really know how to talk to Avril. Do you think you can try and calm her down or something? At least enough that we can get through a film?"

You give Jill a quick hug and head over to Avril, who's waiting with folded arms and tapping her foot. "Jill's told you what we're dealing with, I hope," she says. "What are we going to do about her?"

"Jill's told me, but I was hoping you could explain it to me in a little more detail. How do you know what she is? I've been getting weird vibes, but nothing like the violent reaction you had. I actually kind of like her- she's a nice person. I don't want to do anything drastic to her- can you think of any way to, I don't know... cleanse this 'demonic taint', or maybe bind her to prevent a transformation- like what your dad did for me?"

"Well, basically I was planning to go watch a film. With you, and Jill, and with her as well. I don't know exactly what we're dealing with here - I've been getting some weird vibes from Masami, but nothing like the violent reaction you had - but I don't think we should write her off yet. She's a nice person, whatever her blood, and her actions haven't been demonic or corrupted yet. Isn't there any way to help her somehow?"

Avril frowns. "Trust me, Chris, she's dangerous. She might be nice enough now, but the person you've been talking to is just the shell of a seed. Sooner or later that seed is going to sprout and when it does, 'Masami' is just going to disappear. There's not even really anything to save - she's a cuckoo's egg, do you understand me?"

"Are you sure? Isn't there some way to cleanse the demonic taint, bind her to prevent a transformation?"

Avril sighs and shakes her head. "The demonic taint? She's not tainted with corruption, Chris, she's tainted with humanity. The demon is the core part of her. As for binding the demon... it's a piece of her bloodline's progenitor. Even if you found someone strong enough to bind her against the pull of the original demon... she's been implanted with a desire to seek out deep water when she's ready to turn. Once she entered the ocean the bindings would just wash away under his power. You'd have to chain her down, forever. And even that might not stop her turning, if the human shell just withers away."

((Cont.))
>>
>>26155526
“Besides, you heard her. She thinks she’s holy. The new humanity. Stupid girl. Do you think she’d consent to any binding we could lay on her?”

“I think she could be convinced. And even if she can’t, she’s my friend. I’m not going to condemn her for what her family wants. If she stays on a good path, can’t we accept her?”

Avril shakes her head again. “You’re being naive. But fine, have it your way. Don’t come running to me when she bites your head off.” She turns and walks off, towards the cinema exit.

You glance back at Jill and Masami, who are now both looking nervously in your direction, and hurry after Avril.

"Avril, wait. You know I trust your judgement - if you say she's dangerous, I believe you. But I have to at least try to help my friend. You don't have to accept her. We can talk about that more tomorrow.

But for now, can you please relax a bit? I'm going to go watch a film with Jill, and I want you in there with me." You take Avril's hand and kiss her deeply, pulling her tight against you. "You're mine, and I want you on my arm tonight."

Avril blushes a little, but she's smiling. "Okay, sir." She kisses you back, but then frowns. "We are still going to have to talk about this. But you're right, I'll save it for tomorrow."

The two of you turn and walk back to Jill and Masami, who are standing together in the corner, now smiling a little. Jill shows you the tickets she's picked up. It seems that whoever keeps putting on old, strange classic films, Jill has similar taste. She's picked up four tickets for the cheesy sci-fi classic, "Plan 9 from Outer Space." You raise an eyebrow, but Jill defensively insists that she's heard it's very funny, and that you did say she could pick the film.

The screen is the smallest one, at the far end of the cinema, and it's totally empty apart from the four of you. The film is indeed very cheesy, but so bad it's almost good. You're tempted to have more fun with Avril, but Masami's sitting right there...

You lean over quietly in your seat and start to gently kiss Avril's ear, whispering to her to stay quiet and not spoil the film. When you start nibbling on her earlobe, she lifts her hand and starts stroking the inside of your thigh slowly, trying not to squirm too much. Jill's sitting on the other side of Avril, with Masami at the far end of the group. Jill's quite entranced by the film, so after a while you tap her on the shoulder, then move your hand to Avril's hair, brushing it back to clearly expose her ear and the smooth curve of her neck. Avril is biting her lip to avoid moaning, now, and clearly squirming in her seat. Her hand is stroking higher and higher on your leg. Jill leans forward in her seat, and you turn Avril's head so that she has a clear view of you gently sucking on Avril's ear, and the expression on Avril's face. Jill hesistantly shifts closer, then leans in and starts gently kissing Avril's other ear. Masami appears not to notice as Avril starts moaning under her breath.

Jill jumps a little as Avril's other hand starts stroking her leg, and pulls back, blushing. Avril turns her head back to the film, and after a little while so do you. You think you see a bit of movement from Masami's seat, too, but you can't tell what in this darkness. She's probably just scratching her leg or something.

The film comes to an absurd but amusing end, and you all file out into the night air. Is there anything else you want to do to finish off the evening?

Exactly. Avril is more than happy to play around with us and Jill, but bringing Masami into the mix is a complete turn off for her. We're good at convincing her, but there are probably limits, especially when a Deep One is involved.
>>
>>26156907
All this prejudice against Deep Ones... we just have to prevent Masami from accepting her true heritage and she wont change.

I dont see how any immortal could want anything else.

By the time you've lived a hundred un-aging years, the world would already hail you as a savior or a demon.

You would promote yourself as "the man who can never die!" and millions of people would flock to you for sage advice.

As hundreds of years go by, you would be able to unite all countries and faiths under one great civilization. Humanity! Share all technology across the globe. Eliminate hunger and poverty and bigotry. Pump money into the space program, and undersea resources.

Destroy all intercontinental weapons, keep small arms.

You would be able to choose who is damned and who is saved. The world would be better for it.

The only problem with that is that:
1. We're not truly immortal. Someone does too much damage to our body, and we will die. We're no Jack Harkness.
2. The Deep Ones have their own plans, have lots of power, and are just as long-lived as us.

And if the Deep Ones and the Order of Dagon is real, then what else from Lovecraft's work is real? Immortality may be worse than the ability to die, at that point.

((Apologies for our unscheduled intrusion of real life. We now return you to your questing.))

You pull out your phone and give your mother a quick call. She doesn't think she can manage dinner for three extra people on short notice, but she says she won't mind if you grab a bite to eat with your friends instead of dinner, so you all get a coffee and a sandwich before heading to your house. Your mother raises an eyebrow when you come in with Avril and two other girls, one of whom is clinging to Avril's arm a little bit, but doesn't comment, bringing you all a small tray of biscuits and some milk as you take seats in the living room. Jill sits next to Avril on the sofa, leaving a space free for you on Avril's other side, and Masami takes a seat on one of the chairs, smiling at the sight of the three of you cuddling up together.

We preface that we DO need to have a serious talk, and soon, but that the evening has been nice so far and that we don't want it to end on a sour note. "Hey Avril, you know how to play Truth or Dare, right?"

Masami's face lights up immediately. Jill appears to be going back and forth between being nervous and being excited. Avril just eyes you with a touch of suspicion. "Yeah, I know the rules. You want to play that now, though?"

"Sure. It'll be a good icebreaker. You said you wanted to get to know Jill better, didn't you?"

"Well, yeah, but..." Avril shoots a glance at Masami. "Are you sure about this?"

"Relax, Avril. It'll be fun."

You gather everyone in a circle on the floor. Avril and Masami spend a few rounds passive-aggressively sniping at each other with questions about "the ugliest part of your body" and "how are you most inadequate" and so on. Eventually Jill persuades them to open up a little and actually play the game. Avril gets dared to stand on her head for a minute, which she does balancing on one arm. Jill, remembering last game, dares Masami to take off an item of clothing again. Masami grins and removes her socks again, then asks you about your first kiss, which was with Avril. You give her a slightly sanitised version of the story, and notice Avril's pleased smile as she reminisces.

that, and massive skill ranks, cause rogues to be a strong face without the need for magic.

The game goes round and round, the dares starting to get more and more daring - your mother is still in the next room, but Avril still dares Jill to give her a passionate kiss (which she does, with a little hesitance at first and then with some real eagerness once she gets into it, leaving Avril panting a little when they separate).

You get the chance to dare Avril to dance with Masami, which is extremely stiff and awkward even with Avril's natural grace. Plus both of them keep trying to lead at once.

You also ask Masami whether she saw anything she liked at the cinema. She blushes, gives a sideways glance at Avril, and says yes, but refuses to elaborate on what, insisting that she answered the question you asked.

Jill ends up asking Avril what her favourite place in town is. Avril thinks for a while before saying that most of town is quite nice, but particularly the bench in the park.

Masami, apparently still feeling a little like embarrassing Avril, asks her what her fetish is, but Avril seems pretty happy to list off dominance, threesomes, hair pulling, and a couple of things you haven't even heard of, one of which sounds Japanese and makes Masami blush ear to ear. Jill is looking somewhat red and flustered too.

You ask Jill what her dirtiest ever dream is, and it takes a bit of prodding from you and Avril before she admits that following your proposal on Saturday she had a dream or two about Avril that were fairly explicit.

((Cont.))
>>
>>26159193
To Avril’s obvious disappointment, Jill won’t give any details, so you move on, with Jill daring Masami to take her and Avril’s socks off too, and Masami following up by daring Avril to take your socks off ‘for symmetry’. Avril asks Masami if she wears a bikini or a one-piece swimsuit, which confuses Masami for a moment before she shyly explains that she generally swims in the nude. Masami tries to dare Jill to lick chocolate off Avril’s stomach, but while Jill is still stammering and blushing (but, fortunately, a little while after the actual dare), your mother comes in to remind everyone that it’s getting quite late and it’s time to go home. Jill has to hurry out before her curfew arrives, and Avril gives you a brief kiss and a hug before running off herself. Masami lingers until Avril has gone, and then heads off with a wave and a small smile.

Well. Your evening has gone both better and worse than expected. You did manage to stop the fight, but you’ve learned some worrying things about Masami. You still hope Avril is wrong, and that something can be done to help her, but you’re not sure where to start with that. Jill and Avril are getting along better and better, but Avril and Masami certainly aren’t. You’re quite tired, all things considered, and although it’s slower than before, you’re noticing the first signs of your hunger building up again.

Still, these are worries for the morning. For now, you’re going to go upstairs and sleep the sleep of the dead.
