Composite Samus Aran (all weapons and armor upgrades from all games) vs a composite Space Marine(Basically all traits and skills rolled into one Marine)Who would win?

>>26308937>because they're allowed to do everything that people compromise on without having any downsides, because Jervis loves his personal army of canon-stue viking "good guys". seriously, he has actually said in a WD commentary article that one of the reasons he loves Space Wolves so much, and has an army of them, is because he believes them to be the super "true-hero marines" of 40k
>>26308983Which is funny, because they have done some of the worst stuff against humanity across all ages.
space wolves are the number 1 mary sues of 40k
>>26308859Samus shoots a small black hole, followed by a miniature Sun and a rip in reality.Space Marine ends up in the Warp while being boiled and ripped apart, but somehow survives and comes back two minutes later because Warp time. Then Samus uses the screw attack and a power bomb....Seriously, the only reason for a Space Marine to win would be plot armor. Not to mention that Samus can just steal their equipment if it's in any way superior. Imagine the nice upgrade she'd get from the composite SM.
>>26308859>Composite Samus AranGotta go with Samus. More flexibility.Ice Beam, Wave Beam (emp), Annihilator Beam, Phazon Suit, Phazon in general, enough visors to pierce any camouflage, Power Bombs, the always invincible Screw Attack, morph ball abilities for maneuverability and a quick escape, kick ass space ship with auto pilot, sonic attacks...the list just goes on and on.I see the battle as Samus sneaking up on the marine and taking out half his armor before he can even get a bead on her...and at that point, it's already over.
space marine.because fuck weeaboo nintendan characters >:(
>>26309082I wouldn't say she's more agile. The Space Marine is on par with her in terms of abilities. Her advantage is her equipment. It's infinitely superior to any SM stuff.

>>26309224>>26309272>contorionistWait, how does that work? Why can't she drop bombs in the normal mode, where did all the details on the suit ( her helmet, the cannon, the 'scales' on the abdomen beneath the chest, those GIGANTIC pauldrons) disappear to, how can a human being roll themselves around after pressing everything that could give them forward motion into a tight ball?
>>26309396I remember in one of the games, we see it as she does a somersault in the air and the two halves of the Morph Ball appear on either side of her.
>>26309396Spartal compression technology... plus I always assumed her Pauldrons were the outer shell of the Morph Ball...
>>26309396Why the fuck is no one who complains about her morph ball actually playing the games? The suit works like a henshin ability. She can summong it at will. So it can easily transform into the morph ball shape.Samus herself seems to transform into energy.

>>26309396The suit's made by a race of aliens who came up against the greatest predator in existence, engineered a lifeform specifically to destroy it and then got bored so they gave up having physical forms and moved to a higher plane of existence

I am not familiar with 40k lore. But how are marines vs radiation? Because Samus with all her weaponry can just pump him full of phazon
>>26309508It is not registered as a chapter. After all, can you call one woman a chapter?
>>26309478Ah, so it's like GW's excuse for technobabble.
>>26309489I think he's saying it's the other way around. The Chozo came across X, and developed the Metroid species to deal with them, since the fusion suit is half Metroid and it can eat the X like it's nothing.
>>26309489Parasite X WAS said predator, able to take over and assimilate any lifeform it came into contact with, they built the Metroids to dispose of it permanently by EATING it.
>>26309519>But how are marines vs radiation?40k gets by the whole 'radiation thing' by never mentioning anything about it.Though iirc, Vespid have a somewhat 'radiation gun' (Neutron Blaster), that kills marines pretty good.
>>26309544>EATINGNot directly. They just eat its soul.
>>26309523My god...Composite Samus would win against a composite Space Marine.Because composite Samus IS a composite Space Marine.

>>26309567Composite Space Marine does not use a hybrid of Eldar and Necron tech with Tau aesthetics and some Tyranid abilities.
I wonder how the Galactic Federation would fare against the Imperium. They do have energy shielding on everything and lots of reverse-engineered Chozo stuff.
>>26309597Eh, true.Maybe that's why it's a stricken chapter though, because she uses that tech.
>>26309489It's the other way around. The Chozo developed the Metroids in order to combat the naturally occurring X on their native world.
>>26309597Maybe not those boring Vanilla "Canon" Chapters...
>>26309645>>26309656Well let's see you stat a one-model army, then!
>>26309647And then the end of Fusion implied that the X might be able to develop a conscience or at least the ability for rational thought.Which might mean that they aren't that dangerous after all.You also forgot the irony of Samus exterminating all Metroids. Bonus points for the fact that "Metroid" is basically her role. And then was was literally partially Metroid after becoming infected by the X because she wiped out the Metroids that her adoptive parents created in the first place to combat the X.
>>26309571You'd get... God Empress of Mankind?
>>26309645EXACTLY!Warhammer 40k!Samus was raised by freaky Birdpeople Xenos with an obsession with long term planning and puzzles. If old Empy made the connection to a certain Chaos God and decided to pull what he did with Angron on much larger scale...
>>26309704So THAT'S why she's so OP!
Satsujinki, with all the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception bullshit attached, VS A Composite Space Marine.Who would win?
They say that 12 Guardsman are a match for your average Space Marine.I'd say that Samus, with minimal equipment, could take more than double that amount. With MAXIMUM equipment, I'd say she'd be in line to take down somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 or so Guardsman. There is NO comparison between Miss Aran and any single unit in 40K
>>26309714I FEEL THE WARP OVERTAKING ME!
>>26309714Now imagine Samus on a crusade against the Emperor because he wiped out her OTHER set of parents. That's something I'd love to map out. She'd likely start by raiding a Blood Raven armory for useful upgrades. Then she'd raid a few Necron tombs and try negotiating for Eldar tech... Until the Eldar turn out to be assholes and get fucked sideways. She could even get upgrades from the Tyranid forces. And once she'd sufficiently prepared, she'd step through the warp directly onto Terra.
>>26309519The space marine has one organ implanted in them that helps them deal with some levels of radiation. I doubt the ability could withstand weaponized radiation though. Samus is still the winner.
>>26309729>Samus duel wieldin'.Welp. Everyone go home, we've found enuff dakka.
>>26309704...Well no, sad as that may be...But we COULD end up with a Legion of Non-Loyalist Female Space Marines hiding on the fringes of the Galaxy, waiting for their chance to swoop in and ressurrect the Imperium in the Image of their Maturmarch...
>>26309729>minimal equipmentThat's the short beam with the basic power suit and a single energy tank. She'd be a huge target and might be able to survive two or three lasgun shots.
>>26309727Who the fuck is that? Some obscure mango?
>>26309729>MAXIMUM equipmentMaximum doesn't exist. There's only "maximum seen equipment", which would still put her far above one hundred guardsmen. You don't understand how her powers scale with every upgrade. And god may help us if she ever finds a cloaking upgrade...Also, what's the source for your image?
>>26309697What's even more freaky is that, since she absorbed so much X, and since each X had copied some sort of creature, she ALSO has part of every creature the X copied inside of her.So, not only is she part Metroid, Chozo, Human, and X, she's also a mash up of things such as Ridley and worse.Imagine the possibilities!
What if Brick and Salvador are Space Marines.
>>26309762>MaturmarchMatriarch. The world you are looking for is matriarch.
>>26309775>invisible SamusOh FUCK. There are not enough tubes in the universe to stop this.
>>26309301Prime 2 beam combos. They're actually really shitty since they are so expensive and slow.>>26309456jeezus christ how horrifying.
>>26309779The game also confirmed that she can get upgrades as pure data.Let that sink in. And think of what that implies for all the upgrades that she collects.
>>26309301Prime 2. Although, it was a bit of an exaggeration.
I dislike Space Marines but Samus would not win. Samus doesn't have the heightened natural abilities of a Space Marine - it's Chozo DNA that is pretty much the only salient ability, which is pretty much just for suit interfacing. Her weapons aren't that strong, especially since they often have trouble with combating Space Pirates/Federation armor; putting them on the tier of bolt weapons would be dubious at best. And more importantly, she is too fearful and emotional. In her latest appearance she freaked the fuck out when confronted with Ridley and would have died if not for the interference of a random black dude. The suit's structural integrity, moreover, is as of her latest game highly dependent on her emotional state - when she got shot in the back by an unaugmented human she was K.O.ed instantly. She can't do it.
>>26309788Ooh... there's some unfortunate implications.
>>26309774An evolved form of Shiki Tohno.MEoDP, or Mystic Eyes of Death Perception is a power that allows for the user to see the lines of death on anything, including concepts, bullets, and even the source of other people's powers.Slicing these lines means that whatever it is, reguardless of regeneration or anything else.It dies, permanently.
>>26309808Named character + a better power suit > generic power fantasy mook.
>>26309396Curling up is part of the process of entering the morph ball, but she is definitely not actually curled up inside it. You can see directly through the gap between the ball's hemispheres- there's nothing inside but a swirling sphere of energy.
>>26309788>Brick and Salvador broing it up, berserking across the galaxy and roflstomping anyone who gets in the way of the next treasure>possibly teaming up with Vulkan-Hästen and Logan Grimnar
>>26309791Thank you Anon, I wasn't sure I could go with that since GW never realise or cared the term "Patriarch" existed already...
>>26309301Well, it depends on how you interpret the sunburst and darkburst beam missile combos from metroid prime 2.The darkburst is a little hole to another dimension that sucks nearby shit into it. It moves really slowly though, kind of like a sphere of annihilation or something along those lines.Sunburst is similar in that it's a big glowing ball that moves really slowly, but it's just really hot and bright and burns the shit out of everything it touches. Both require prohibitively large amounts of beam ammo and missiles to use.
>>26309797>They're actually really shitty since they are so expensive and slow.Better than the flamethrower, though. And the Sonic Boom actually works decently well. It's just fucking expensive.MP2 is the only game where we saw an ammo system. It was also the game where Samus was shooting rips into reality and small black holes.Think about that for a moment. What does this imply for her capabilities if she uses external energy sources? She collects the ammo from fallen enemies. She can power higher calibres of her weaponry with the souls of her enemies. And these higher calibres basically scale her up into Total Annihilation/Supreme Commander territory. She only uses weapons with unlimited ammo because she has no support. With support, she'd be free to use all kinds of insane equipment.Maybe that's why she doesn't cloak - It would require additional energy management.

>>26309729Whelp, thanks for the new manga to read.
>>26309871I don't like *that* either, but the OP said all games. If it were up to me I'd just field a single game's iteration and leave Other M out of the mix, because Samus is gonna get smoked in this scenario.
>>26309779Bad news for your headcanon:>Sakamoto: "When she absorbed the core of the SAX (the perfect condition of Samus), she basically reconstituted her genetic condition. >>26309895Oh but he does.In fact before he became Satsujinki he reacted at Mach 14+ speeds when in a combat trance.Satsunjinki makes it so he ALWAYS is on a combat trance.Speed wise, he's probably Hyper Sonic since his body follows through with his reaction speeds, and he's outclassed several higher beings than himself.Strength wise he isn't all that big, he can tear a human skull in half with his hands, but that doesn't mean much against a Space Marine.>>26309943That "normal" human is one of the best out of a lineage of demon hunters, who have been constantly inbreeding to keep their powers in line.Emiya Shirou is hardly a "normal" human either, being implanted with Avalon and having Archer bullshit is 100% not normal.
>>26309808One, I strongly object to including Other M at all, because that is a shit game to begin with and an abomination of a Metroid game. Metroid fans think of Other M like Type Moon fans think of the Tsukihime anime. Two, she got shot once in the back while her defenses were down because she trusted the guy, whereas in a battle she would never do that (see: every Metroid game, in which she gets shot by damn near everything and takes a bit of damage). And three, fuck the emotional breakdown, that was against an enemy that KILLED HER PARENTS. Nevermind that she'd wiped the floor with him some six times by that point already, chronologically. God I fucking hate Other M.If we're taking everything from every game, the bonuses far outweigh the two moments of weakness Other M showed. Between the myriad of suits, beams, missiles, visors, et al, Samus is pretty much godmode hax.
>>26309965>Hyper SonicNow we are going into fullretard territory. And his comparably low strength just makes it more retarded.
>>26309943There's concept art of the Zero suit that made special note that the heels shouldn't be very high. And yet, as we see in Other M, they have her walking about with her stripper heels on.
>>26309981At least she had a nice ass in Other M.
>>26309972Rules #1 and #2, faggot.
>>26309862Wait, what if this is the reason why her equipment gets lost? She basically abuses the stuff by making it use up itself through overloading or something, which means that only lasts for a few days (as long as most of her missions) until it just breaks.
>>26309972>defenses were down because she trusted the guyActually no, he got the drop on her somehow, even though her suit has built-in radar.
>>26309974>Now we are going into fullretard territory. He matched Nrvnqsr Chaos in his 999th Beast form that is comparable to Arcueid in speed, and he was traveling at Hypersonic speeds. How do you expect that he stabbed Chaos in the exact right spot through instinct without having the speed to match him?
>>26310011I thought we were talking about Adam shooting her in the back while she was walking away. I don't remember Other M very well.>>26310003My point exactly. At least the soundtrack was good.
>>26310015The issue with hypersonic speed is that our understanding of aerodynamics breaks down at that point. Air behaves differently if you are that fast and will rip your arms off.
>>26309990That's relative.I've seen some nice asses in my day.Not to say that it isn't nice; I'd rather just omit that observation out of respect.
>>26309972It's the latest, explicitly canon iteration of Samus we have, and the only one to give any read on her emotional state at all. You may not like the writing - and that's a good thing, because it's badly written! - but it is the most authoritative thing we have.Gameplay power, which is lenient for ease of play, has to be weighed against cutscenes as well. I take cutscenes with more weight, which is problematic for Samus as even in games outside of Other M she's been sucker-punched by some seriously mooky enemies, and she doesn't have nearly the resilience displayed in-game. Meanwhile, Movie Marine bullshit is off the charts.Samus is hax relative to the caliber of her own games, I don't think she can take the stupid SM bullshit at all.
>>26310030Well, he doesn't usually go at that speeds, not that it'd matter since Space Marines don't go at that speed anyway. He's quite durable too anyway.
>>26310032I prefer if I can respect her without losing the fanservice.Other M was fucking degrading, but she doesn't have to be ugly or hide herself in a burka to be badass. It's not like she's nude in combat - She's only doing it when it's practical.
>>26310024Nope, Samus is distracted by the deadly Metroid in front of her, and then Adam strolls out from behind a pillar and shoots her. For basically no reason, too.
>>26309938No, he /can/ kill them. That means he has the ability to. It does not mean that he has the means to.At his hypest Tohno ran on walls and jumped off of the ceiling to get in range to attack Akiha, and he still took a heavy blow. Satsujinki is basically him at 100% 100% of the time. He's basically an Eversor with maxed out movement and agility, lower toughness, an accurate death attack, and an invuln save. He might take out a composite space marine if he's lucky, but a good Servant is too hard unless he gets the drop on them.
>>26310048Didn't Other M also reduce her height?
>>26310036>the only one to give any read on her emotional state at all.Did you forget her small wave after she saves the Luminoth?Or the moment when she looks at the ruins of Talon IV's Impact Crater?Or in MP3, where she vomits and goes on with her business?Or when she raids a Pirate base in Zero Mission? And as a side note:She has plenty "movie marines" bullshit going on in the cutscenes. She can kill pirates with uncharged shots in MP3's cutscenes, for example.
>>26310048You make an excellent point.I cede the discussion to you.
>>26310036While you've hidden your Marine Fanboyism well, your sockpuppeting has given you away...Considering when I picture "Rule 63 Space Marine" I see Samus FUCKING Aran, I would at the VERY least give her equal footing to an Armored Super Soilder who is often brought down by standing in the way of a thousand flashlights.
>>26310087These examples are little details, not story focal points that I'm persuaded are designed to give any special insight on her emotional state....and 'killing pirates with uncharged shots' isn't exactly what I'd call impressive. It's not like we're talking about Dante from Devil May Cry or anything, which is about what I'd need to see to seriously consider Samus in this matchup.
>>26310083She's 6'9".She's supposed to be the tallest human in any given room, but she wasn't anywhere near the tallest in Other M.So yes, they did.
>>26310072Which I think he would since doesn't he "ping" as regular human? Similar to how servants treated Shiro until they learned that he could actually kill them? All of my type moon knowledge is either secondhand or from hanging out in the Fate-Zero threads. So I'm probably way off base.
>>26310142And that's outside her suit, by the way.I think her suit slaps another few inches on her.
>>26310116I really, really, *really* dislike Space Marines, not least of which because I think the 'no women allowed' thing is dumb as all shit. Resorting to that kind of ad hominem isn't going to change my opinion, however, which I can keep separate from my personal feelings on the matter. Just because it 'feels' like Samus should be able to match up with the marines doesn't mean that is necessarily logical.
>>26310116Equal footing is laughable in that regard, considering Samus is a named character and 'a space marine' is a power-wank mook.
>>26310083There was never exactly a canon number to begin with- just a very doubtfully canon Nintendo Power page that said she was 6'3 with the suit on. In Other M she's ~5'4, though, without the suit.
>>26310137>which is about what I'd need to see to seriously consider anything taking on Samus in this matchup.Fixed.
>>26310072You're forgetting the fact that he can make 16 attacks in under a second.See: Where he killed Arcueid. Now with every one of those attacks being instantly one of the following, if it hits,1) Debilitating2) Instant death3) AmputatingHow could a Space Marine ever stand a chance?
Samus crushes it. Samus' suit is ludicrously better, even if she wasn't personally (and she's pretty much equivalent).
>>26310137Regular Pirate = Regular GuardsmanAnd those moments are anything but little. They are the few informing moments we had in an otherwise completely stoic character. When we did see them, we were supposed to know their gravity by their rarity.
>>26310171>>26310176I'd prefer if they'd make a compromise. The American sources aren't exactly the most sane ones, anyway. We also had the entire "bounty hunter" miscommunication.
>>26309862Flamethrower is alright in the Wii version I understand. It's just that the Plasma beam is so strong it doesn't need the help..Only the Super missile and the occasional tactical Wavebuster is useful. The ice one only gets a mention for being damn effective on the end boss.
>>26310227Pirate = Guardsman is again a dubious proposition for me, but that's not really here nor there (any shot from a marine is going to shred a guardsman like tissue paper so it's not terribly important). Meanwhile, I feel like you're overthinking this - the Metroid games prior to Other M other than *maybe* Fusion just aren't story driven on any appreciable level. I simply don't think they're putting that much thought into it as it relates to Samus's overall personality.
>>26310281>Wii versionThe Wii version downgrades basically everything else, though.
>>26310172Look, it's not about how much firepower or armor one has over the other...It's MINDSET!Samus is THE HUNTER while Space Marines, for all their martial prowess, often resort to methods that are tactically INSANE.>>26310173Yes, but I'm arguing with a Closet Marine fanboy here, who doesn't seem to realise Marines often die in HUGE numbers due to their lack of common sense.
>>26310176>just a very doubtfully canon Nintendo Power page that said she was 6'3 with the suit on.No, it's been mentioned elsewhere that she stands out of armor at somewhere in the 6' mark. I think I recall seeing somewhere that it was even reconfirmed by the creator.
>>26309751>She'd likely start by raiding a Blood Raven armory for useful upgrades."Chapter Master Angelos, I come baring news!""Speak, Apollo""Sir, we detected an intruder in the armory, we believe they were after our wargear""This is terrible Apollo! Why was I not informed earlier? >>26310316I don't think the strategic lapses endemic to the Astartes are really going to come into play in this 1v1, no other details scenario. Nothing suggests that to me, at any rate, though if you'd like to illustrate it with further explanation I'd be much obliged....meanwhile it's not like Samus doesn't have her share of tactical mistakes as well. I can't see a decisive argument favoring her.
>>26310342>stealOther than that, an enjoyable read.
>>26310316Well, lack of common sense is part of it. Indeed the major reason marines are actually portrayed with such rampant amounts of power-wank, is because of dev/writer bias and absurd notions of shit like '1 tac squad killing millions of dark eldar'. In many ways, Black Library was on of the worst things ever when it came to the fanbase's perceived marine powerlevel.
>>26310357She's also a genetically enhanced super-soldier, with better power armor and more experience.
>>26310316>Marines often die in HUGE numbers due to their lack of common sense. Not the guy you're replying to, but the only example I can think of for Marines getting stupid numbers of themselves killed off the top of my head is in Soulstorm. I kinda thought that Space Marines don't lose many men when it all goes horribly wrong due to the fact that they tend to not deploy many troops in the first place?

>>26310379Marines are genetically enhanced, to much further extremes than Samus. They're also the kind of things a 12 year old would come up with (HE'S GOT TWO HEARTS AND SPITS ACID), but nevertheless.I don't see an argument for her power armor being better, certainly not better than the best the marines could get access to. I know we haven't dwelled too much on their capabilities, but Artificer armor, Terminators, Dreadknights, these things have a lot more fluff on them and their stunning resilience, while Samus's has been pretty chumpy on more than one occasion. And Samus definitely doesn't have more experience, that's crazy. Marines live and fight for hundreds of years.

They simply don't display destructive magnitude on that level.Again, acting as if things are self-evident does not make it so. Your arguments are incensed, but they are not persuasive.
>>26310652>Dreadnoughts if you wanted to be really charitable. There is no point in arguing with you.4/10
>>26310643I'm not moving the goalposts; we are still contending with your initial claim that a marine has no defense against the plasma/wave beam (it's obviously untrue given that force fields exist, but to continue deconstruction).More importantly, where is the source in Metroid Fusion? Where is it cited, in-game?
>>26310637She's genetically engineered. She basically went through her universe's space marine treatment.
>>26310643Actually, you said that a combined plasma wave beam could destroy any and all organic or inorganic matter. That is for all intents and purposes everything that exists as if something is not made of matter it does not exist on this plane.
So now that we've settled that, who's up for Lost Primarch Samus fluffing?
>>26310704In game description of the Plasma Beam and Adam's comments on it when it's described. And yes, it is moving the goalposts, since >marine has no defence against itis different from>destroy literally anything and everything unless the marine can make tactical use of 20 metres of rock and fight Samus at the same time.
Forgot the technology aspect, Samus Aran is the only human being to ever survive being infected by an X Parasite, a species so deadly that they could easily infect and wipe out Tyranids and The Flood from Halo. Then she extincted them. She also wiped out the Metroids, the only race that's actually able to kill X Parasites. Her job is to kill things that shouldn't be kill-able.
>>26310762But could she kill Shiki?
>>26310736I am! Sounds amusing.
>>26310704>Where is it cited, in-game?When you are told that Sa-X is immune to anything except for the penetrative abilities of the Plasma beam. Not to mention that the plasma beam penetrates enemies ingame. The Wave beam is specifically used to shoot through inorganic matter. You are moving your fucking goalposts because no matter-based defense will stop these weapons. They will go through the ceramite, through the skin, the bones, the inner organs, while destroying/damaging all of it along the way.The Iron Halo is an entirely different matter, especially as the SA-X is weak to plasma, which might mean that it also penetrates shielding.
>>26310762>Then she extincted them. She didn't.She just destroyed the space station.
>>26310786A simple autocannon can penetrate power armor, that's not a big feat.
>>26310802It detonated in the planet's atmosphere and it's implied that she wiped out that planet.

>>26310881Leman Russ attacked her for using Xeno tech and accepting aid from Xenos. While shorter than her brother, her inventive use of her abilities and agility allowed her to gain the upper hand and soundly defeated him, yet refrained from a killing blow in the knowledge that killing him would lead to her legion being annihilated without mercy.Worried at the safety of her legion, she contacted Magnus the Red, being aware that the two brothers had no love for each other, and asked him to keep her legion safe.Magnus agreed, and inducted them into his legion, and then created the Corvidae cult so that they might continue their sacred mission. After this, she took her Advanced assault craft and led the pursuing Space Wolves in a deco mission. Unfortunately, she ventured too close to a warp drift and was taken to places unknown. When the heresy struck, the Blood Ravens, unsure if they should back those who persecuted their primarch, but concerned that she would never ally with such despicable beings, remained neutral to the conflict. When it became clear that the Imperium was a necessary evil, they agreed to safeguard it for when their Leader returns. As with all knowledge in the Imperium of man, the Blood Ravens slowly lost their knowledge of their Primach. Initially it was barred for their own protection, with only the captains an the chapter master being aware of it, but attrition took it's toll, and they eventually lost their knowledge.Until recently, they knew their sacred task of retrieving relics, but did not know why. With the discovery of the Kronus artifacts, the truth has become clear. Now Chapter Master Angelos, First Captain Diomedes, Captain Thule and Captain Vanile Cryo are the only living Blood Ravens that retain knowledge of the lost primarch. They await her return, none shall find them wanting when she does.
>>26309158>Wouldn't say she's more agileNigga have you ever SEEN a Metroid game? You start with the ability to infinitely kick off walls to scale sheer vertical surfaces. This is not an exploit: It's required to progress at one point in Super Metroid. Samus is a gold medal Olympian at very least.
>>26311164I was talking about combat ability. She can obviously go full Alien on the Marines and murder them by walljumping into their vents and dropping bombs.

Though, she may have just assumed that he was dead for good after the incident in Super Metroid. It doesn't account for the whole, "oh god, flip the fuck out, lapse into PTSD," thing, but I could see a short moment of, "I thought you were dead," style shock after seeing him.Followed closely by some, "let's fix that, shall we," style reassurance since she's done it so many times, now. Seriously, Other M's writing was terrible. To get any enjoyment out of it, you have to ignore, or completely skip over, most of the cutscenes.
>>26312380Other M's writing is so bad that you almost anticipate getting back to the painfully linear and simplistic gameplay. It's like the game itself is trying to play good-cop-bad-cop with you.
The most fucked up part of Samus' arsenal, the Light and Dark beams of Prime 2, is not that she fires singularities of both the "infinitely hot" and "depthless void" varieties. It's that she's firing the axiomatic extremes of good and evil. Aether is not split on "phase wavelength" technobabble terms, it is split between "healthy planet, thriving ecosystem" and "twisted nightmarish Tim Burton production" terms. The D&D equivalent would be the different between Prime Material plane and the Plane of Shadow. And she's -shooting it-. From a -gun-. The Dark Beam's charge shots actually lash out and cling to enemies, slowing them and causing damage over time as it saps their life force. The "Sonic Boom" attack, that requires both Light and Dark beam ammunition to fire? It's Sonic in name only, and only because of the rippling shockwaves and audible explosion when it goes off give it a faint visual similarity to a sonic effect. The description specifies that she is actually -ripping reality- which is why "fractures" appear alongside the shockwaves.Samus is shooting, as a linear beam, what happens when you put a Portable Hole into a Bag of Holding.
>>26312429The thing is, they did it for the worst reason, ever: Marketing. They made her shorter, less muscled, hell, overall less of an actual strong female character, and more in line with Japan's idea of what femininity is, because it wasn't selling well in Japan. She wasn't what Japan wanted to see when they heard the words, "strong female character," so they overhauled her to make her fit, and made her an antagonistic, emotionless little shit who shuts up and listens whenever someone above her says something in the process.

>>26312488Yep, the action of firing the Annihilator Beam's missile combo, the Sonic Boom, has enough impact to crack reality in a localized area. It's massively powerful, and only really, "slow-moving," when compared to the rest of her weaponry.
>>26309729>There is NO comparison between Miss Aran and any single unit in 40KDumby
>>26312618This is how I level 20 Artificer.
>>26312552Seriously? I'd only ever heard that it was marketing, so it would sell better than other metroid games had in Japan. If that's the real reason, then Sakamoto's just a dick, and shouldn't be let near any video game antagonist ever again.
>>26312598Actually, it might be better to put it on Bjorn's page as well.
>>26312682>antagonistMeant to type protagonist. My hands are stupid right now.
>mfw /tg/ morphs Samus from not only into a sleazy womanizing lesbian that dodges child-support but also a pack-rat of a 40k Primarch capable of stealing entire planets worth of technology>mfw steals more than fucking Space PIRATESI love you, /tg/.
Welp, seems like we got archived with the most generic name ever. This will definitely lead to shitheads downvoting us.
>>26312645I thought Samus was more of a Ranger then a artificer. I don't think she even has the rudimentary knowledge to repair her suit, it repairs itself.
>>26312708Don't forget that it also fits right into 40k canon.
>>26312685>>26312598I have much knowledge of the site, or many wikis, but I think you can embed them using the editing function
>>26312715She designs her space ships...Hey, wait. Does that mean she's a gearhead? Is that why she always gets a new ship? Vanity? It would explain the paint jobs. The ship in Fusion was government mandated and thus butt ugly.
>>26312733Thanks, captain obvious.I was hoping that someone knew how to do it exactly. I only ever did small edits on wikis (like putting the writefaggotry on Bjorns page).
>>26312680That's an interesting point, though:Who would fare better? The Prince, or a Space Marine?Original Prince is best Prince, pic related.
>>26312724Even the womanizing part?
>>26312488So Samus is literally firing holes into reality?Well this fits well into my explaination why Primarch!Samus is immune to Warpfuckery, the Chozo spiced her with their Psychic-eating Metroids, which in a Warhammer Universe were their own little "Fuck you" to Tzeentch.
>>26312759my apologies, I'm being a dumbfuck and my reading comprehension has taken a blow.incidentally, I've just noticed this thread has been archived.
>>26312794Her ability to throw anomalies at target isn't what protects her from hostile environments, but it does give Samus the edge against the inhabitants.
>>26312794Her protection against the warp would come from the dark/light suit. The dark suit is made from evil, thus allowing her to become resistant to the evil energies in the evil parallel world. The light suit is made from good and makes her immune against the evil energies. But keep in mind that this was Luminoth tech and used one of the light thingies as power source. Stealing them would royally fuck with the Luminoth. And her weaponry at the time ran off light/dark energies collected from fallen enemies.
>>26312789That one is retarded, in my opinion.
This has been done before and Samus loses. Next you There isn't any real reliable info on Samus. Sure you have bits from here and there but a lot of it is super contradictory. Also you fanwank the levels of her enemies. Next you guys will say that she can beat Dr. Who, Necrons, or the Culture.
>>26312903Light Suit is Best Suit.
>>26312958>NecronsI bet she raided a tomb world or two.I wonder what her equipment would look like afterwards.
>>26313006She raided them while they were asleep, then pulled an Aran special on themI.E - blew it to fuck, initially while she was still on it
>>26308978But Ike did kill a God, the why of it is immaterial.
>>26312903Eh, I like my explanation better, since it ties the Chozo into the 40K-verse AND the Metroids give the Emperor extra reason to "accidentally" extinct them.Fucking over the Luminoth just to keep Chaos out of her head strikes me as out of character for the Girl Hunter raised by Xeno...
>>26310602Er... Space Marine Chapters are one of the few agencies allowed to authorize Exterminatus.
>>26313040I was talking about the canonically showcased situation in MP2.Another precedent might be MP3, where she showed insane willpower against corruption and MP1 where she fought against Chozo ghosts. But the Ing were capable of possessing her in MP2. Only the energy transfer device made her immune.
What a terrible fucking thread.
>>26312958Go home /v/!>>26313045Yes, and how many times to their strike teams make it off world JUST as it gets hit......Never mind that Exterminatus just glasses the surface of a world...
>>26312958Uh. I've been here for like, 6 of these threads. At least. Samus has never come out as the loser. The worst she's ever done is when pitted against entire regiments, or if she's put at complete disadvantage by being surprised point-blank. Even then she's a contender.Samus is equal parts Space Marine and Final Fantasy protagonist in power scale. A 1-on-1 Samus vs Space Marine fight, given all their potential power and equipment and assuming no special circumstances such as a surprise attack, always goes to her.And yes, she could kill The Doctor easily, if she had to. His continued success depends on his enemies being blithering idiots with ignorable firepower, by her standards. And he was killed by a rather paltry energy shot once, from what amounted to a laser pistol. The Necrons are basically what she fights against in canon material, tech and power-wise, and she does just fine there.
>>26313082Pretty much all the time? Also, Two-stage cyclonic torpedoes, that time the Space Sharks blew a world into little tiny bits by sabotaging its reactor cores, et cetera.
>>26313083Except for all the times she's had her ass kicked in cutscenes by mooks.Kinda puts a damper on the whole faggotarded "primarch" thing.
>>26313083Tech-wise, she is BACKED by the Necrons. But considering her most dangerous enemies were created by the Chozo, you are not wrong...
>>26313066True, but tying the Metroids in as the Chozo anti-Warp weapon gives them a purpose for existing here......In fact, it could play a major role in her eventual leaving of the Imperium; The Emperor had her hunt down the Metroids under the pretense that they were an Anti-humanity threat, only to find out that they were a biological ward created by the Chozo to keep the Warp in check.
>>26313147nice bait.I advise everyone follow my lead and ignore the person parroting what he thinks /v/ would say
>another Samus thread>no one in it has played anything but Prime
>>26313147>beat mooks at very beginning while only having her vanilla powers>proceeds to DESTROY planet mooks are onSeems about right.
>>26313184I've played all of them but Hunters, actually.
>>26313181Funny how you can't actually deny it.
>>26313184I'd advise you re read the thread further for Manga references, Zero mission references, Super Metroid references, Fusion references and, ugh, Other M references.
>>26313189Why do people always say this like it's impressive that she just so happens to destroy something that conveniently would blow up the planet when it died, completely unbeknownst to her?
>>26313204I'm glad you can all use Google but it doesn't change the fact that the majority if not all people posting on 4chan about Samus have only played Prime and Smash Bros.
>>26313203Samus has been completely waylaid thrice ever, as far as I can remember. Once by Mother Brain's psionic cone of "fuck everything", once by a viral infection that can eat entire ecosystems, and once in Smash Brothers Brawl by a surprise attack from her most notorious enemy.>>26313225Cause you're the only special snowflake that actually grew up with videogames, right?
>>26313242Oh, also that time she got shot in the back by a normal dude and was immediately taken out, remember that?
>>26313225Nearly thought you were being serious for a second, good one anon.It was a bit too far fetched for you to expect me to believe a person was suffering from this amount of "I'm such a wise vidya sage" cognitive dissonance.Be a bit more subtle next time.
>>26313263read the thread.discussed and dismissed already.
>>26313225Actually I have the original Metroid......Too bad I suck at it and need cheats...
>>26313279"BAAAWWWWW OTHER M DOESN'T COUNT" isn't a real dismissal.
>>26313302Right, and disregarding C.S Goto's wank is completely acceptable.
>>26313302>>26313263The time she was shot in the back, outside of her armor, by someone who she trusted?Yeah, she totally got her ass beat in a fight there.
>>26313302>>26313263Go away, Sakamoto.
>>26312380I COULD have understood if she shot off into a fit of pure fucking rage after seeing Ridley...AGAIN.."WHY WON'T YOU STAY DEAD!? AAAAAHH"> Starts shooting wildly at RidleyThat would have been believable
>>26313281Aye, it's an absolute bitch to play after being raised on Super Metroid.
>>26313321Say who? It's canon.>>26313325Yes, that time.Primarchs have been stabbed through the spine and been just dandy a minute later.
>>26313368What's your point? She'd still fuck up a Space Marine literally without breaking a sweat.
>>26313368Oh okay, so you completely accept Goto's rape of the fluff. Good.
>>26311696>>26311771OP here.Is there a reason this Bjor is narated in full caps? Does this motherfucker yell 24/7 or something?
>>26313388stop arguing with him, he's seriously trying to justify C.S Goto just because it suits his current argument, he's crossed the line.retard or troll, it's not worth trying to bash sense into him.to start a new avenue, Would the X be able to assimilate the Tyranids, or would the Hive mind be able to repel their attack? How would Samus deal with Tyranids?
>>26313158Metroids suck life force. Which includes souls and thus probably daemons and the like.No need to make it more complicated. Let's not completely kill established canon.
>>26313388I point you here: >>26312488
>>26313428X can take over any living being with ease. I imagine that if exposed to them, the Tyranids would fall to the X.
>>26313403Yes, I do. I personally think tank surfing platforms are an awesome idea.>>26313388Since these are composite depictions, that's arguable.
>>26313426Look up his page on 1d4chan.
>>26313426He's a dreadnought, and the original Bjorn stories were also in all caps when he spoke, I thought it would be doing a disservice if he spoke any other way.
>>26313437NiceDaemonette gets off on killing established canon.Considering he RPs as a "nice daemonette" and all.
>>26313428I'd imagine it going either way and going horrible for anyone else. X gain powerful forms of the Tyranids and the Tyranids gain incredibly easy access assimilating lifeforms. And as far as Samus treating Tyranids, it'd be a typical Monday morning.
>>26313490...I didn't even notice the name.
>>26313428I'm not familiar with C.S. Goto's work. I assume he did to WH40K what Sakamoto did to Metroid?>>26313440I am both of those posters.>>26313476Also see >>26312488 . There is nothing. NOTHING. A Space Marine can do about that.
>>26313463The Tyranids have a psychic hivemind. If the Tyranids notice, they'll bitchslap the stuff and create countermeasures.Otherwise you get Tyranid-X with psychic powers and a hivemind.
>>26313509Off the top of my head, He has the Eldar being tsundere over Gabriel Angelos, has there being an Ulthwe (I think, might be Biel-Tan) prophecy about him being a saviour of the eldar. He also doesn't act with the barely tolerant hostility he ought to.oh yeah, and terminators doing backfips.dead fucking serious.
>>26313463And the X would assimilate them, become better versions of them, then just continue their murder-spree across the cosmos.Samus is an exception because some doctors surgically removed the infected parts of her armor and injected her with Metroid DNA to keep any they missed from continuing to fuck her over. And then her armor came to life, and made more of itself.
>>26313509You know how slow those shots go?I could personally dodge them.
>>263135091d4chan has an article on him, but take it with a pinch of salt. The multilazers thing gets taken a bit far, especially with the claim that he attatched a multilazer to a carnifex.
>>26313562Not the Sonic Boom. It's actually decently fast.
>>26313558What's also great about the SA-X was that it replicated the missing parts from Samus's armor to the point where it was basically brand new. Imagine an X infecting only parts of a Marine's armor and then bam, you get a intangible blob that can morph into a fully functioning Marine with armor at will.
>>26313325She was armored. Trust doesn't factor into it, she didn't even see it coming.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHEbOMrUn5Y&t=1m10sSamus is incompetent.
>>26313562But could you dodge the blast-wave?Alternatively, could you dodge them from point-blank range while the person had you by the throat and was pumping them into your chest cavity without even being damaged by them?Composite look at the source material says we have to make her immune to the side-effects of her own weapons whenever she's shown to be. Which means she can just stand there, choking the life out of you, while she shatters reality around your rib cage. Also, Space Marines aren't immune to their own bolters.
>>26313623Confirmed for trying too hard.
>>26313602Yes, decently. The most wanktastic depiction of Marines I can think of, Blood Gorgons, had a marine swatting supersonic bolt rounds out of the air. With his hand.
>>26313625Since when has she been shown to be stronger than a Marine, again?
>>26313646Confirmed for similarly incompetent.
>>26313437Exactly, they EAT warp entites......They just also snack on Psykers as well, and Mister "I want humanity to evolve into a Psychic Race" didn't like that so he accidentally' all the Chozo when Sammy wasn't looking.>>26313490And how is having Nice Daemonettes raping Canon?Their NICE, I've never made any claims that they are GOOD.
>>26312380Actually I can see a legitimate reason why Samus might lose her shit after seeing Ridley again.Look at how many times Samus has killed him before other M. And every time he COMES BACK TO LIFE. Death itself cannot keep it's steely grasp on Ridley. He's like a nightmare that no nightlight can banish, you can get rid of him for a time but he always comes back.On Ridleys side of the fence however he probably views Samus as Death fucking incarnate. Not a mortal, not a person, but force of nature that fate has decided to force him to fight over and over again. But maybe this time he'll find an edge and finally the cycle end.I dunno I just like the idea of the two being completely scared of each other, thus spurring the both of them into all out war against each other and unknowingly cementing their fears further.
>>26313662Since ironically, Other M showed Samus to being quit brutal in terms of melee combat.
>>26313616To be fair, her armor is basically some kind of unholy organic/inorganic/spiritual tech mashup....Which means that X must have souls. And the ability to duplicate souls.
>>26313693Because daemonettes are literally made of sadism?
>>26313662Not talking about a marine, talking about you, since you said that you, personally, could dodge them.Though, considering she has, hand-to-hand, fought monsters that are two or three times her size, she's at least in the same strength bracket as them. In addition, hell, run straight at one, charging her weapon, jump over him, and shoot him in the back with it. See how his nuclear reactor backpack deals with having reality crack around it.Or, hell, just pepper him with matter-ignoring electricity lasers from behind a wall, without ever stepping out. Wave beam.
>>26313710Well, when she's not crying about "THE BABY".
>>26313695I actually kinda like this idea. Too bad it requires acknowledging Other M.
>>26313693>didn't like that so he accidentally' all the Chozo when Sammy wasn't looking....The beauty of the idea was to unify the settings in a way that makes sense. Now you are just rewriting Metroid canon instead of filling blanks in the 40k canon.
>>26313710NOW we're counting MOM?
>>26313695I'd find it fucking hilarious if they saw each other and both had a panic attack>WHY WON'T HE FUCKING DIE?!?!>JESUS FUCK, COMPANY HEALTH INSURANCE WON'T BE ENOUGH FOR THIS ONE!!!
>>26313695>On Ridleys side of the fence however he probably views Samus as Death fucking incarnate. Not a mortal, not a person, but force of nature that fate has decided to force him to fight over and over again. But maybe this time he'll find an edge and finally the cycle end.You forget that he ate her parents. In front of her. While gloating. He must feel lots and lots of regret.
>>26313722I wasn't claiming I could take on Samus, I was saying that those attacks were shittastic, which they were. And a Composite Marine would be easily as agile as her.I don't think it'd be nearly as much a stomp as you're thinking. Also just a nitpick but the backpack's a fusion reactor.
>>26313745We are counting only the good parts.
Samus is going to lose no if ands or butts. I like how every Samus fan just says nah go home /v/ instead of having anything legit or isn't contradictory. Also I am sure she isn't backed by people with Necron level tech they can cage god like beings and blow up suns. I've seen on a number of sites that do Vs. threads and she can't even beat people with half the powers or resources of a Space Marine. Metroid fanboys go home or bring some facts. Not these hyped up fanwank numbers. I don't even like 40k but the metroid world is not on the same footing. Next you'll say she can beat Goku, the X-men and a great wyrm gold dragon.
>>26313758He ate her mom. Her dad blew up one of Ridley's carriers while he was still inside it.
>>26313745http://youtu.be/ZHKZefebYtkThere you go. There's not many reason why Samus would fight in melee anyway, considering she can grapple-beam a target down then fire away.
>>26313777Is it too much to ask for you people to read the thread?I've lost count of how many of you there have been, and I'm too lazy to go up and count.
>>26313777Dude, you're trying WAY too hard. Also, nice trips.
>>26309808First off SQUAD BROKEN.Second off, as we see in the manga, the next time she sees Ridley, she flips the fuck out, bluescreens, reboots and violates Ridley with a wine bottle.Third off, GIANT FLYING SENTIENT (Chaos?) DRAGON. Not causing all things to shit themselves? Your arguements are refuted.Fourth: >Other M canon
>>26313774MOM had good parts!?!?
So how would Samus fare against Megaman? I know he hasn't shown nearly the same amount of crazy shit that Samus has but he has the same "assimilate other's tech into his own arsenal" powers that she has.Maybe he was also involved with the Blood Ravens when she was Primarch?
>>26313751Doesn't explain the little girl thing. But having irrationally overinflated fear of each other is quite amusing.>The Hunter walks, she comes, she comes!>Why won't he stay dead?
>>26313771>Also just a nitpick but the backpack's a fusion reactor. If she dumps phazon in that thing, it's not going to end pretty
>>26313777She could probably take out quite a few X-men in composite form though.
Also you are using the most powerful version of Samus thus you must use an equal footed Space Marine. That means an Iron Halo, plasma weapons, las gun, and from the most over hyped sources of the black library. Samus might be strong but she can't take out the a fully decked out Space Marine. Looking at Samus's wiki and Vs. account she doesn't have this.
>>26313837Megaman is a plug&play system. He can steal abilities because the other androids are made with the same hardware standards.
>>26313869>Looking at Samus's wiki and Vs. account she doesn't have this.I don't even want to know what the kind fuck of source this is and why you are constantly referring to it.
Seems like a Nintindo fanboy thread seems like everyone that is backing Samus should go back to /v/ and then be put back in their place.
>>26313837Arms race? They compete to see who can assimilate the best weapons and armor.
>>26313873He's fought space robots and ones from the future and did the same thing.
>>26313853You could say that about anything.
>>26313869But Samus can take repeated hits from plasma Weaponry. This was shown when she fought the S-AX
>>26309808>And more importantly, she is too fearful and emotional. In her latest appearance she freaked the fuck out when confronted with Ridley and would have died if not for the interference of a random black dude.Allright, you wanna count Other M. Then you also have to count that in Fusion she was back to her old badass self, and went back to eradicating a race, and blowing up planets. So in short: She had a temporary moment of weakness when confrontend with an enemy who just wouldn't die.
>>26309808The entire arsenal of the Metroid universe is a cut above WH40K. You might notice nobody even bothers with kinetic projectiles unless they carry specialized warheads. Also, physical abilities? You have clearly never played a Metroid game, because she can do things while in full armor that a level 40 Rogue couldn't dream of.>>26313837With each of them at full power? Megaman's got literally almost a hundred weapons. One of them stops time. I think it's a Rocket Tag situation. Whoever strikes first wins.Though to be honest I think it'd be cute if he took to her like an older sister. Also, Megaman isn't a conscious entity. He's just a really advanced Cleverbot with an impressive weapons suite. X, on the other hand, could get interesting.
>>26313721No, we are made out of Excess and Perversion!Ours is Empathy, so we like to cuddle you tastly widdle mortals to make you all warm and cozy before plunging you into our daemon flesh to be distilled into liquid contentment.>>26313743That's what I'm doing;Lost, possibly gender-bent Primarch, raised by the last remnant the race of Xeno who gave birth to Tzeentch and created the Essence eating Metroids to combat said trickster god.The Emperor, thinking that the Chozo's machinations were a danger to his vision of humanity's future, sent his reclaimed Primarch Daughter to the other end of the Galaxy while another Primarch finished exterminating her adopted people.
>strongest incarnation of SamusDon't forget this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nrm8dGQXNAAt her strongest she had permanent hypermode. And now combine that with her anti-warp MP2 loadout, her M:oM CQC abilities and her hyper beam at the end of Super Metroid.
>>26313917> either of them defeats the other> Upgrade complete: You got a FUCKTON OF SHIT
>>26313891It's basically the backstory to Total Annihilation. It's just spiritual being vs machine.
>>26313888>Everyone who supports Samus is clearly from /v/ and needs to be put in their place.Oh, it's a WH40Kid who can't candle that his precious Space Marines aren't the best at everything.
>>26313771>nuclear vs nuclear fusionIt'll still explode like fucking crazy if someone hits it hard enough.Beside the point: X-Ray Visor plus Wave Beam. Ice Spreader followed up by any kind of concussive weapon. The Sonic Boom, which moves about as fast as her Power Beam's own charge shot(pic related). Any of the bull she was capable of while in the PED Suit. The Diffusion Beam(Other M) which turns her basic weapon into energy-based ordinance. And that's ignoring that she could just Morph Ball between his legs, use the Spring Ball and Magnet Ball to jump up and cling onto his backpack and detonate a nuclear weapon directly on top of his ass.
>>26313933That's Sloth, which is totally a Slaaneshi thing except for the fact that they still aren't actually nice.
>>26313956Fucktard.It's an ordinary troll. You aren't making the situation better.
>>26313917Megaman is basically a completely conscious entity. He just has to abide by his directives as a robot whereas Reploids don't. Basically, the only thing he can't decide for himself is to not do his job.
>>26313964>It'll still explode like fucking crazy if someone hits it hard enough.Actually, Fusion will explode and kill the area.Fission will just stop working and irradiate everyone.
>>26313964...Neither nuclear fission power nor nuclear fusion power works that way. I'm fairly certain you're retarded.
>>26313863Only the weakest of the weak in terms of mutants could she kill/beat. But I mean if you guys think Sams is so powerful lets see her take on Iceman.
>>26313938>her hyper beam at the end of Super Metroid.>that moment when she slowly gets up, the Crateria music playing, and utterly curbstomps Mother Brain. The fact that it wasn't some FUCK YEAH or OHSOEPIC music made it better. You could feel the cold rage coming off Samus as she casually stood up and engaged the rape train.chills were had.
>>26313994When fusion reactors fail, they just stop working. That's why marines don't fucking explode when they die.
>>26313938That's a temporary upgrade, which at least I don't consider to be valid when comparing either person in the fight (or else things get way too out of hand even compared to how shitty this thread's become)
>>26314003>Screw attack + Gravity suitGive her time
>>26314003> Let her take on IcemanIceman is an omega level mutant who could turn into a lava man if he really wanted to.He could beat Samus actually. He could probably freeze her brain.I just want to see her vaporize Wolverine. God i hate Wolverine
>>26313986Unfortunately, he's not. The scene at the end of Megaman 7 was altered in the American version. Originally, he intends to kill Wily, but he can't overcome the Three Laws, and lets him go, because robot. In the American version, we get a much cooler scene where we literally witness the Singularity occur, he claims to be more than a robot, and only fails to take the shot due to the intervention of a third party.X is explicitly the first "intelligent", free-thinking robot. He also has a human soul, which is why he can canonically use the Hadoken.
>>26313956No, but that is what you asshats said to all the 40k people which I am not one of. It is just funny to see all the guys with a Samus boner get so sad when their super bitch can't beat a no named mook.
>>26313994>>26313998Ah. Alright then, I'll concede that point. I don't know how nuclear power works. It's not my job to know how that works and I was going off of what Hollywood has shown when something happens with a nuclear reactor. Sorry. On the off chance either of you were referring to the last bit of the second part, where I mentioned detonating a nuclear weapon, the Power Bomb is, canonically, a thermonuclear weapon.
>>26314012Fusion reactors have a Fusion reaction running, which must be suspended with a strong magnetic field. It won't instantly turn off if the thing is destroyed. First it will lose containment, burn some stuff and then go out. That whole process would take up a few milliseconds.>>26314015"At her best" is just retarded wording if you want to exclude the upgrades that are even more temporary than usual.
>>26314032>I just want to see her vaporize Wolverine. God i hate Wolverine>Samus destroys most of Wolverines body>Samus absorbs his life force>He stops regeneratingWhat would her upgrade be?
>>26314032lelWolverine has survived being nuked. I really don't see that happening.
>>26314015>how shitty this thread's becomeaside from that kid waving his arms for attention, it's still fairly civil
>>26314037That's literally what I just said. He can't break his directives in place but he's still a conscious entity aware of it's own existence and capable of choice within those limits, the fact that he can even consider and attempt the act is proof of that. X and the Reploids simply have the freedom of choice.
>>26314077Regenerating energy tanks at best. A single reserve tank at worst.
>>26314080This, as much as I hate his guts, it's very hard to, if not impossible to kill the motherfucker for good.
>>26314077Pretty decent regeneration. She does the same to the Tarrasque. What now?
>>26314060That's not the OP's wording, though. If you want to discuss 'at her best' it's an entirely different topic; valid but not relevant.

>>26314100He survived being melted down to just his skeleton once, didn't he?
>>26314100he needs the Cell treatment to die.Every single cell in his body needs to be fucking erased from existance, and then he's gone.If a single cell or drop remains, he comes back.
>>26314112>plot armors his way out
>>26314050>Hollywood has shown when something happens with a nuclear reactor. That's why everyone freaked out at Fukushima. The technology wasn't the issue. It was the retards that kept the damn thing running in 2011, despite the design being incredibly unsafe and outdated.A nuclear chain reaction is fucking hard to achieve. That's why there's such a thing as "weapons grade" Uranium. Only a certain form of it can be used to get the chain reaction to have a real effect.A decently designed reactor just shuts off when the cooling system breaks down.
>>26314126That was the nuke.
>>26314080>Wolverine has survived a completely unsurvivable situation even with the full extent of his powers because the writers have a hardon for himFixed that for you. He's not the tarrasque, he's a mutant, meaning his powers are contained in his genes, which are contained in his cells. Even if his adamantine skeleton survived, Wolverine is gone.
I don't think C.S. Goto's writing is any good, but if we are going for the most balls to the wall version of a Space Marine which would most likely come from his writing which is cannon Samus can't win.
>>26314080You just need a Metroid. He can't regenerate from having his soul eaten. And if he produces infinite soul, he'll be kept a a living reserve battery by Samus.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhSBA7OL6m8&t=6m5sobserve the Hunter's catlike reflexes
>>26314152Except he obviously isn't.Also, his bones weren't replaced with metal, just coated, so it's pretty much impossible to destroy all his cells.
>>26314143I thought it was the end result of being dunked in molten metal one time. Maybe it happened more than once?
>>26314169I hate thoughtless cutscenes.
>>26314161Sniktbub can regenerate from anything. It's called plot armor.
>>26314161>Samus teams up with Marvel Heroes>she needs an energy supply>Reeds and Tony pull off a think-tank>Wolverine is awkwardly strapped to Samus's back with doo-hickys to keep her supplied with energyMAKE IT HAPPEN, MARVEL.
>>26314179It actually happens quite a bit.
>>26314192"Sorry, Logan, another hot zone! and it looks like I forgot my varia suit""Goddamnit"
>>26314177That makes slightly more sense, but I still object on the grounds of Adamantium transferring heat like normal metal. Given a nuclear explosion, the metal coating would flash-vaporize the marrow and bone inside, still sterilizing his form of living cells. The massive overpressure on the inside is more forceful than the nuclear blast. His bones instantaneously become adamantine frag grenades.
>>26314127Ok, say Goku Kamehameha's Logan into the Sun. Would he survive?
>>26314192>>26314233Gentlemen, we reached the logical conclusion of Wolverine's existence.
>>26314192Imagine the hijinks with Samus constantly looting Stark's stuff. Sometimes just by accidentally touching it.
>>26314249Actually adamantium is completely 100% unalterable in any way whatsoever once it's been smelted except via altering it on an atomic level. It's not a normal metal, it's magical unobtainium metal.
>>26314296The frag grenade part wouldn't happen, but the wiping out the bone inside part would.
>>26314296I clearly recall Magneto having once shredded his Adamantine coating with magnetism. And his claws being heated to glowing are how he killed Deadpool in a recent movie, cauterizing the wound.
>>26314320I'm so sorry, which movie was this?I cannot recall a single movie that has such a scene.
>>26314293>yfw Samus with Extremis
>>26314320Dude... Magneto's Omega-class. He doesn't just control magnetism, he controls THE ELECTROMAGNETIC FORCE. Very few people can take him on.
>>26313917You realize that energy weapons don't always beat a physical projectile. Also every shell a bolter fires, which is the basic gun for a space marine, has a special warhead. They are all little missles pretty much. I love how you say Metroidverse is a cut above 40k yet you know nothing. You guys should actually try a real vs. thread with rules.
>>26314320It was the most recent one about Wolverine that isn't the one that was just released a few days ago. It's about how Wolverine came to be, prominently features Sabertooth as an antagonist, and ends with them prematurely waking up the incomplete Deadpool to try and kill Logan. Deadpool has the mishmashed abilities of a bunch of mutants mixed up in him, including Wolverine's regeneration and a young-teen Scott's eyebeams. The eyebeams end up heating Wolverine's claws to glowing orange, which he then uses to slice Deadpool's head off and instantly seal the wound, temporarily preventing him from healing.
>>26314379This was supposed to link to >>26314335 .
>>26314397Yeah, that's the one.
>>26314293What would probably get under Tony's skin even more is if he found out Samus was a woman. Compounded by the fact that she would be untouchable or severely disappointed by how bad he is in bed like Gamora. Samus would probably grapple-beam into the sunset with Spider-Man because super-power Amazon bitches love Spider-Man.
>>26314376A) Samus can dodge projectiles or, more accurately, the people firing themB) Bolters are designed to explode inside, the armour would deflect the bullet and the explosion would cause far less damage.someone failed their bolter lore check.
>>26314416I think what would get under his skin the most is that her armor has clearly better tech than his.
>>26314466Oh, man. That would just cheese him the fuck off. Especially considering she believes in silly things like souls and ghosts. I'd say it'd force him to reconsider some positions he holds on the universe, but it's fucking Stark.
>>26314152It is okay if you think that, but you realize the same could be said about Samus and anything you had going for her falls apart. The writing is the only thing we have to go on to get a grasp of their power levels. Just because other universes have a much higher power level doesn't mean it is to be ignored or dismissed. It is what makes the universe the universe. Silver age Superman is neigh unbeatable because of the writers, but you can't just say oh Samus would beat Superman if not for those power wanking writers.
>>26314487I... what? We weren't even talking about Samus.
>>26314528I just assumed you were on the Samus side of this debate, but that doesn't excuse what you said about Wolverine and about his power level. Sorry for assuming.
>>26314582It doesn't matter what side anyone is on. Wolverine is one of the most shamelessly plot-armored characters in history.
>>26314480I've always assumed the stuff with the Chozo is more like they came across a Theory of Everything; a scientific principle capable of explaining all aspects of the universe. Which is why they became so spiritual. Their awareness and perception of the universe was just so deep that their interaction with it ceased to be any different from spiritual communion. This is also why their tech is so crazy potent, it's based off these principles and can basically do whatever it wants provided the right type of resources.
>>26314611You know there are literal, vengeful, psychotic Chozo ghosts in Prime, right? And Metroids explicitly absorb a target's "life force"?
>>26314611This is what's implied in the manga, but they still send out robots to kill beautiful creatures with fire because they're dangerous.Seriously, though, saying, "it's chozo tech," is on par with saying, "a wizard did it." It explains just as little about how it was done, and says just as much about how little anyone cares about how it actually works in the long-run.>>26314642I believe it's mentioned in their scan entries that they couldn't completely get right with the universe before transcending, and they went insane trying to stay on the material and transcend it at the same time. Literally tore their minds in half in the process. Made them crazy. Also, energy tanks must just be spare batteries of life force, then, because metroids eat those, too.
>>26314582I don't really expect to see Samus to win a fight against the likes of Superman or GODDAMNFUCKING13BILLIONTIMESFASTERTHANLIGHT Flash, but it's fucking just Wolverine. Okay, he can regenerate from a nuclear blast and shit, gotcha. But surviving =\= winning. The fact Samus is capable of pulling off blasts similar to Cyclops going full on punches from the punch dimension mode would be enough to put Wolverine in his place, dead or alive. And I recall Wolverine actually dying that way, or at least being burnt to just his skeleton being out of the fight until his regenerative powers kicked in. Just not sure if it was Cyclops.
>>26314701Nope, just checked. It's phazon. Phazon in their atmosphere made them crazy. Which means that Phazon transcends the physical world.
>>26314642And I'm saying that the life force and those ghosts could just be an unexplained scientific anomaly, or that the soul itself can be explained scientifically. But at the level of understanding that the Chozo have, they're literally doesn't exist a distinction between magic and science.
>>26314701Metroids can eat and convert any energy. They're basically living transformers/capacitors. That's how they fly: They convert whatever they've sucked up into kinetic energy. It's also why they're weak to cold: It's the absence of energy. It was a built-in failsafe by the Chozo, leaving them a glaring (but nearly unexploitable weakness by anything without cold weaponry), as well as rendering space travel impossible.
>>26314730>they'reThere*. I don't see how I could fuck up that bad.
>>26314729Considering that a Phazon Leviathan was capable of splitting a planet into two dimensions, I wouldn't find it hard to believe that Phazon is capable of corrupting an ascended Chozo.
>>26314730>>26314642>>26314701I think that in game and in manga, explaining the concepts behind Chozo tech would detract from the story/game, the amount of explanation would be a huge exposition dump to justify it.
>>26314754So, potentially, someone with a full tank of nitrogen gas could kill a metroid semi-easily? Spray it down and just smash it to bits with the tank?
>>26314790Yup. You could probably kill a metroid by locking it in a chest freezer for a few hours, then hitting it with a hammer. The weakness was twofold: By making them membranous, extreme cold also renders them shatter-prone.
>>26314790Basically yeah. That and enough conventional/non-freezing weaponry will kill a Metroid.
>>26314790>>26314818Aye, ambushing works.the problem is that for one, you only get one shot, and twOH JESUS CHRIST MONKEYBALLS FLYING SOUL SUCKING THING COMING RIGHT FOR ME, AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
>>26314832>Conventional WeaponryThe only conventional weaponry that will kill a Metroid is something that can force it to absorb so much energy so fast that it literally pops like a balloon. Super Bombs in Prime, for example, which I believe are antimatter weapons.
>>26314857>>26314818Depends on the form of Metroid. Hunters, though still vulnerable to the Ice Beam/other dedicated freezing weapon, are capable of thriving in frigid temperatures.
>>26314857Put an insecticide sprayer head on the tank and just carry it with you in, like, a scuba tank harness. Metroid flies at you, you side-step it, spray it down, and then kick it at the wall like a soccer ball until it shatters.>>26314907First off, Power Bombs. Not super bombs. Second off, they're small-scale thermonuclear weapons. Thirdly, it only took regular bombs in Super Metroid.
>>26314911>Hunter MetroidsThose things were creepy in a totally awesome way. Given that they're called "Hunter" metroids, I guess we can assume they have additional predatory instincts and abilities. Maybe they can survive cold locations because intaking more energy lets them keep a sustained reserve of warmth.
>>26314942I knew "Super Bombs" sounded wrong while I was typing it...And I'm pretty sure they've gotten alternative descriptions in different games.
>>26314942>Put an insecticide sprayer head on the tank and just carry it with you in, like, a scuba tank harness. Metroid flies at you, you side-step it, spray it down, and then kick it at the wall like a soccer ball until it shatters. You'd have to hope like fuck that you guage it right, be it your reactions and the speed of the freezing.Seeing pillars of dust that were once animals would scare the shit outta anyone and put them off their stride
>>26314979They've never been antimatter weapons, though. Just extremely powerful bombs. Other M has them being described as being able to vaporize people, and the blast looks a lot like a thermonuclear explosion in that. Also, I like to imagine her toting nukes around just in case she needs one.>>26315021Yeah, good point. I'd probably opt more towards something to keep them away from me. Like a sturdy, lightweight bludgeon and lots and lots of running away.
>>26315190So what would happen if we cross Metroids with Head Crabs?
>>26315221You'd probably get flying head crabs that are slightly more efficient at consuming their targets, but somewhat easier to kill because their targets turn to dust and crumble away after a little while.Either that or parasitic, cold-immune metroids.
You know who can beat Samus? The faceless men in her doujins
>>26310422>Wild dog feel.Jesus, she doesn't give that off at all. She just looks like an average tomboy.
