Sup /tg/. It's Friday. Do you know what that means?

That's right! It's time for FATAL Friday!

This time we're going to have a Roman legionary fight against everything that isn't Roman, starting with his angry wife.

Come along and join the fun! It's sure to be a great trainwreck for us all!

Jokes are not this thorough. Jokes are not this disturbing. Jokes do not attract fans that react so... violently.
If it was a joke--if someone put forth this much effort, this degree of perversion and hatred and eldritch horror--at some point it would still be just as disturbing.

>>26396958
I cannot say. It's...I can't really say for sure. I don't know if it's a giant practical joke, or if it's a serious attempt at an RPG. I've read the thing nearly cover to cover multiple times but I just can't tell. I do know it's great fun to go through it together though!

>Also, there's a F.A.T.A.L. character builder? I... I need a moment.
Yes, but it isn't complete. It was made for an older edition of FATAL and it doesn't fill out all the stats. I filled out the rest of it, I believe, on the link above. It also can't create elves properly. Elf age is based on the size of the forest they live in, and the program doesn't account for it, so all elves end up being age 0 but statted out as adults, with C cup breasts and whatever else.

In the link. Read it! Read! It's right at the bottom.

Now let me explain a bit of what you guys are seeing here.

In FATAL, all characters have five main attributes. I like to call them Big Attributes. Each of these five attributes have five sub-attributes. I call them Little Attributes.

Your score in the Big attribute is the average of the four Little attributes that make it up.

Originally this guy had bad physical stats, but rerolling those made them very good! And as a result he got personality disorders. He's actually one of the most powerful FATAL characters I've had randomly created. Normally you get totally dicked over by the rolling.

Soak this in, chew it around for a while and I'll go make some popcorn.

Here's his wife's FULL STATS.
She's a cook. She's middle aged. She has an allergy to asthma. Ha! Just kidding, she just plain has asthma.

One day, Sextus is sitting at home eating porridge on a wooden stool . His wife comes come late, and in her arms are a pair of full-grown rodents. Squirrels. Sextus takes one look at them and his nose twitches.

"Be a dear and take these from me, Sextus," she says.

Sextus bolts upwards and slams his hands on the wooden table he's eating at.
"Woman! Enough! You know those things make me convulse and you bring them into my house? My abode? I could afford this place only from the loot I took from your wretched homeland! First you take my catamites from me and now this?

"It's time for a divorce."

Sextus's spear is lying on the wall across the room, but he unsheathes his gladius and hefts up his scutum! His ex-wife drops the rodents and picks up two kitchen utensils from the cooking counter. It's a fight!

Now give me a minute and I'll give you the rundown of FATAL combat. It really has a lot of similarities with D&D 3.X.

>>26397717
GODS DAMN IT HILARY WHY MUST YOU SHOW UP IN EVERY FECHT THREAD I MAKE?
>>
File: 1375495480740.png-(419 KB, 1053x813, F2 9 Weapon skills.png)
419 KB
419 KB PNG
The dice you use in FATAL are 3d10. That's your standard roll. However, you also roll 1d100 a lot, or 2d10 if you do the tens-and-ones place thing. Since we're on /tg/ we can just do dice+1d100 and such. If you want to make a skill check or an attack, you roll 3d10, add modifiers, and compare it to a target number. In combat, attacks are made against a target number called Current Armor, or CA. It is literally just Armor Class from D&D. (AC, CA, easy to remember. Just flip the letters around.)

An average naked human has a CA of 10. The Roman's wife is pretty agile, though, so her naked CA is 15. Armor adds to your CA, making you harder to hit -- but not harder to hurt. The CA a piece of armor provides depends on the type of attack coming at it.

Look here. >>26397552
Mrs. Sewell's apron and sandals provide no CA benefit, but her clothes do. Under Armor -> Armor Bonus, you see four letters: B, H, P, and S. There is a value of 1 under B and nothing under the rest.

The four standard damage attacks in FATAL are Brawling, Hacking, Pounding, and Stabbing. The letters can be confusing because you may think of "hacking" and "slashing" and "pounding" as "hammering" or as "smashing" or any other equivalent terms that have the same letter. But so great was author Byron Hall that he made it this way for us to figure out, for it is surely a superior system. After all, FATAL is the greatest game that I have ever seen.

Brawling is any use of the Brawling skill, and that table is genuine fun, let me tell you. Brawling means unarmed attacks.
Hacking is slashing with an axe or sword, Pounding is hitting someone with some weapon, and Stabbing is stabbing with anything sharp.
>>
>>26398240
>so her naked CA is 15
This being Fatal, I was about to ask what her clothed CA was. But this being Fatal, I guess that won't matter.
>>
File: 1375495805619.png-(484 KB, 916x1720, F Why yes, I do lift.png)
484 KB
484 KB PNG
>>26398240
So the Clothes provide an extra 1 to Mrs. Sewell's CA when she is attacked with a Brawling attack. Her CA is 16 against attacks to her that she has clothing on -- everywhere but her head, neck, and feet if you ask me -- and 15 everywhere else.

But when you attack, you don't choose a location to hit. Let me tell you the order of operations.

In FATAL, skills are checked against 3d10, plus modifiers. You compare that to a THreshold. In combat this TH is called Current Armor, or CA. It is almost exactly like Armor Class from D&D. If your 3d10 roll plus modifiers EQUALS or EXCEEDS the CA of the target on the location you hit, you hit!

But take note: if your roll fails because of the CA bonus your target gets for wearing armor, your blow hit and damaged his armor.

But you don't just roll 3d10 and have fun. Oh no.
In FATAL, each round represents 3 seconds. Each of our fighters gets one attack per round.
At the start of each round, we roll Initiative. This is a d100 roll modified by a number. I still have to figure out what they are for each fighter.

After initiative, a fighter can launch an attack. Before you decide WHAT or HOW you attack, you determine WHERE your attack will land. To do that you roll 1d100 on the BPP chart and see what you get. Both our fighters are humans, so we use the human chart.

After that, you roll 3d10, add your modifiers, and hope it's equal to or above the CA on that target.

Any natural roll of 6 or less is a FUMBLE.
Any natural roll of 25 or more, that also beats the target's CA by 3 or more, causes GRAPHIC GORE. (That means we roll on the wound table, kiddies!)
Any natural roll of 30 is an AUTOMATIC HIT.

Got it? Good.

>>26398275
But this being /tg/, you would read on for another few sentences and see what her clothed CA was, just seconds after your post, and then you will feel ashamed and humored that your question was already answered. But it actually won't matter because clothes don't protect against weapons.

>>26398359
No, there are no stats for it. There are dildos, however they are statted as objects, not weapons. Also apparently dildos are made of stone. They're extremely tough! Compare the Integrity Points (IP) of this dildo to the clothes and even the armor the two warriors are wearing. If you somehow had enough dildos to wear around yourself you could make a viable set of bracers or greaves.
>>
>>26398430
It's things like that, incidentally, that clue you in to the fact that FATAL is not merely a horrible joke or a sick parody. If it were, we probably WOULD have shit like weapon stats for penises or the ability to accidentally rape someone in a grapple.

Sextus Sewell is 27 years old. So here's what I need your help with /tg/.

We need to figure out how many Skill Points (SP) he has. To do this we roll a dice for each year he has lived, subtract the number 1 from each roll, and the result is the number of dice we have.

Thinking about it he should only be a level 4 soldier, but that really doesn't matter.

I'll take 30% of the SP we generate and apply them to skills related to being a soldier, like Weapon skills. Adding points to those skills gives him a bonus when he goes to attack things!

So here's what I need your help with. I need the following rolls
>11d10
>4d8
>12d6

Note that it is entirely possible to have a character with NO skill points, if all your dice come up as ones.

>the ability to accidentally rape someone in a grapple.

Normally you're supposed to roll your skills year-by-year, and spend them year-by-year on what you did that year. This method doesn't work too well though when you're, say, 2 years old. What did you do when you were 2 years old? You probably just listened, saw things, peed a lot, maybe danced some. So in theory most characters should have a lot of early points in their Sense-related skills.

The Sense-related skills add in rules to character creation that you cannot find anywhere else in the 900-some-odd pages of rules in FATAL, but they won't apply to our fecht so we can ignore them.

>>26398610
>>26398614
>>26398621
>>26398627
>>26398630

Good men, I appreciate your help. I take the first rolls for each type. That means:
>>26398610
>>26398621
>>26398627
55 + 14 + 32 = 101
101 * 0.33 = 33. We tend to truncate fractions in this game.

From the age of 10 onwards, when Humans normally begin working, (1d100)% of all SP you earn each year MUST be spent on occupational skills. That means for each year of your life you roll a die, then you roll 1d100 to figure out how much of that die must go to occupational skills. But if the Aedile (the GM) says so, we can do it lump-sum style. And since I'm the GM, I say we're going to do it that way. (Normally it's only if the character is 30 years or older but screw that I'm the GM.)

So we've got 33 SP to spend on Soldier skills! Let's knock this out. We have Armor (General), Armor (Specific), History (Military), Weapon (General), and two separate Weapon (Specific) skills.

I never completely figured this out, but I think we're technically only allowed to have up to 5 SP invested in a skill at character creation, except when it says otherwise on the occupation sheet. (In other words, we could invest 5 SP in Armor (General) but up to 5+3=8 SP in Weapon (General).)
>>
>>26398585
Yes you can, just not in a grapple. There's a magical fumble result which causes you and your planned target to begin "copulating furiously" for a random period of time. (This can occur, as far as I can tell, regardless of whether the target is something one can ordinarily have sex with).

I'm getting a really weird result. Apparently the gladius is extremely, extremely easy to pick up and use effectively. Like, toddlers are strong enough to use it effectively. This effectively means he gets a bonus to his initiative rolls when Hacking with the gladius, but a much higher penalty when Stabbing with hit. That hardly makes sense, the gladius was designed as a stabbing weapon.

I checked it over and it seems right. I've never encountered this before. I'm going to go over it one more time.

Sorry about taking so long everyone! The woman will use a Rolling Pin two-handed because she's really weak. The Iron Frying Pan's penalty is much too great. Not the delivery penalty, but the -9 to her 3d10 rolls to hit.
>>26399836
>Weapons that are clearly 1-handed, such as when a human wields a dagger, do not get a lower DP by using 2 hands. In this case, multiply Result A by 1.25, which gives the wielder a penalty.
The Gladius is clearly a 1-handed weapon, so I DO needs to multiply it by 1.25, and its penalty is 25. Otherwise the stabbing DP is 30 - 12 = 18.

Actually, I guess that it could go either way but I'm leaning towards your argument. Let's go with your way and say its penalty for stabbing is only 18.

Okay, there we go.

The Roman is using his sword and shield. The Carthaginian woman is using her rolling pin, one-handed.

I'm assuming all of her skills go to Cooking and other related things, so she doesn't have any points in combat skills.

I think now we're ready.

The reason we went through all that Delivery Penalty nonsense was to find out our initiative modifier.

Unlike other games, in FATAL, you roll for initiative at the start of EACH round. Typically, people with longer arms using longer weapons have a bonus during initiative rolls, while midgets with daggers would have a hefty penalty to initiative rolls. FATAL doesn't say what to do with negative initiative rolls, so I tend to cancel out the modifiers that two fighting people have to make things easier. That is, if one guy rolls 1d100 - 43 and the other rolls 1d100 - 63, I'll say one guy rolls a straight 1d100 and the other does 1d100 - 20.

The Roman man's Initiative rolls are thus:
1d100 + 6 reaction speed + [6 if hacking, -25 if stabbing] + 34 on first round of melee combat only
= 1d100+12 if hacking or 1d100-19 if stabbing, +34 on first round

The woman's Initiative rolls are:
1d100 + 0 reaction speed + 3 rolling pin pounding + 28 on first round of melee combat only
= 1d100+3, +28 on first round

And with that we're ready to go. But first I want to make sure you guys grasp the combat mechanics, so we'll perform one practice swing at a stationary human target with the gladius.

>>26400280
You have a very dirty mind anon. FATAL is a realistic roleplaying game that accurately depicts medieval life. A Cook in such a world would have lots of experience in cooking, cleaning, and other such duties. If you relate that somehow to sex then clearly you are the cancer that should be removed.
>>
>>26400416

>>26400500
Oh. Well, look here. >>26397873
Gender can be either for a cook.
Then look at the Soldier listing, and notice it says female soldiers are rare. FATAL accepts the truth that both men and women can and do cook in equal measure.

Now then, here's how combat works. First you roll initiative with everyone else in the fight. You roll initiative for EACH attack you have to launch that round. This usually means one roll for weapon fighting, but could mean 2, 3, or even 4 d100 rolls per character if you were Brawling. Whoever has the highest score goes first, and then it continues in descending order.

To make an attack, you roll 3d10 and add your modifiers, trying to beat the enemy's CA. The modifiers are:
Your standard attack modifier for Hand-Eye Coordination and Agility.
Penetration penalties against certain armor types. (Not applicable.)
Learning Curve penalties (Not applicable.)
Invested Weapon (General) or (Specific) SP (Not applicable.)

Our basic modifier to attack rolls with either our spear or our gladius is (2*Hand-Eye Coordination bonus + Agility bonus) / 3 = (28 + 12)/3 = 40/3 = 13

So we roll 3d10+13 to hit with either our gladius or spear, since no other modifiers are applicable. Normally invested SP directly increases your roll. If you had 12 SP in Cheesemaking, you'd find your ability modifiers for that and then add +12 to your 3d10 roll for your invested SP. I'm not certain if you're supposed to do that with Weapon attacks or not. The sections on skills are not well written, so I'm doing it the way I believe is correct.

So roll 3d10+13. You're trying to beat the man's CA of 10. Remember that any natural roll of 6 or lower is a fumble! An automatic failure!

>>26400584
That assumes you're hacking, but certainly, that works. The target would roll initiative now but it's just a braindead man so he's not doing anything. Normal average naked humans have a CA of 10, so that's what this target's CA will be. Roll 3d10+13.

Oops, I got that wrong. Any time you attack, you first roll 1d100 to see what part of their body you hit! Then you roll to attack. That means you roll to see where you hit before you roll to it, and this matters because different body parts may be armored differently, and have different CAs as a result. In this case it doesn't matter because the target has CA 10 all over his body, and it won't matter against Mrs. Sewell, but it does matter in an armored fight!

I still have to get the actual damage modifiers for the weapons, and the armor damage reduction, but I'll worry about that in a minute.

So we swung at them with no particular idea of where we were hitting, and landed on the lower left leg. This is like the Riddle of Steel's retarded little brother.
>>
>>26400909
I will explain it better then.

Skill rolls are simple. You roll 3d10 and add modifiers.

Our only modifier is a standard modifier to attack rolls. Weapons are rated either S, SA, or A.
Depending on which letter it is rated, the standard attack roll modifier is different. For SA weapons such as our gladius and short spear, the modifier is:
our Hand-Eye Coordination bonus, plus our Hand-Eye Coordination bonus, plus our Agility bonus, all divided by three.

In other words, the modifier is an average of three numbers. Our Hand-Eye Coordination bonus counts twice. According to the character sheet for the Roman (http://paste2.org/dPF1Mj1J), his Hand-Eye Coordination bonus is 14 and his Agility bonus is 12.

Thus we add, (14+14+12) / 3 = 40 / 3 = 13, truncating all fractions. This means we add +13 to our 3d10 rolls to attack.

If we had other modifiers we would calculate them as well. However, I believe this is the only modifier which counts.

>>26400948
Keep in mind we were supposed to roll for location before the attack roll but I messed up this time.
>>
>>26401028
Ok, thanks. What do I mean is that, man, is a lot of random numbers that come from nowhere and are divided or added or stuff for non-sensical reasons.

I mean, seriously, what the fuck?! There is nothing I can do without having to check 3 tables, dividing, then adding and taking averages?

Now, after all we did, we need to find damage. Guess what? It's also an involved process.

First, let's get our damage bonus down. When Hacking, we have a Fulcrum Point. The Gladius has only one option for a Fulcrum Point so it's pretty easy. Other weapons can have a huge range of possible Fulcrum Points, all of which affect Strength, Damage, and potentially chances to hit.

Sextus Sewell's Strength is 136, which gives him a +17% bonus to damage. When Hacking, his Fulcrum Point is 10, and this gives a -10% penalty to damage. Near the start of the book they say to resolve this like so:

Damage for a Gladius when Hacking is 4d8. We roll 4d8 and get a number, #.

# * 1.17 (for our high Strength) * 0.90 (for our fulcrum point) = final damage number.
1.17 *0.90 = 1.053, so the formula is # * 1.053 = final damage number.

If we were Stabbing with the Gladius, we would not have a Fulcrum Point to worry about. We'd roll 2d10 and get a number, #.

# * 1.17 (for our high Strength) = final damage number

Fractions from the final damage number are truncated.

You can see that the 4d8 damage provided by stabbing has a higher maximum value than 2d10, but damage from the 4d8 has a 0.90 modifier multiplied to it. So...yeah. If I cared enough I'd work out how that matters, but honestly I don't.

If the opponent is wearing armor, depending on whether you hack, stab, pound, electrocute, burn, freeze, or whatever attack, you'll apply another modifier to the damage before getting your final damage. In general the modifiers are such that stabbing deals the most damage through armor. In other words, stabbing is usually better at defeating armor.

Since we Hacked the guy, we roll 4d8. Someone roll 4d8!

Great! So our damage formula is:
18 * 1.053 = 18.954, just shy of 19. Truncate the fractions, so we get 18.

You deal 18 damage to the guy's Lower Left Leg.

When you deal damage to a person, you deal damage in 2 ways. The amount of damage you roll is subtracted from the other guy's Life Points. It's his hit points basically. When they either REACH or go BELOW 20% of their maximum LP, they fall unconscious. For example, our standard human has 20 LP. When he reaches 4 LP or lower, he falls unconscious. And when he reaches 0 LP or lower, he is dead.

But you also subtract an equal number of Body Part Points from the part you hit. You get BPP for each individual body part by running a calculation. An average human has 20 Life Points, but his Lower Left Leg only has (20 LP * 3 * 0.05 proportion of upper torso to the rest of the body) = 3 Body Part Points.

When a body part's BPP is reduced to zero, that part is rendered FOREVER USELESS. (Book's own words.) Drop a guy's groin to zero? No more children for him. Drop a guy's arm to zero? No more arm. Drop their Upper Torso, Lower Torso, or Head/Face to zero? They're penned in the dead book now.

If you destroy a person's Upper Torso, Lower Torso, or Head/Face, they die.

If you dealt MORE than enough damage to destroy a part, it is severed. However, they cannot take more LP in damage than BP on the body part. The body part had 3 BP, so you deal 3 LP from your attack to his 20 LP.

Lower left leg
3 BP - 18 damage = FOREVER USELESS
20 LP - 3 damage = 17 LP remaining.

You just cut this helpless man's leg off at the shin. I hope you're proud of yourselves.

Oh, also the man just contracted gangrene.

Let's try once more.

We roll initiative. Since we're in combat, don't add the Breadth modifier. Choose either Hack or Stab and roll 1d100. You don't have to add in the actual modifier yourself, we can do it afterwards if you say you're either hacking or stabbing.

Next we roll hit location.
Then we make the attack roll against the target's CA.
If we hit, we roll for damage.
Our turn is then over and the next person in initiative goes.

First roll initiative.

Anyway, the blow goes to the upper torso.

Yeah, any time you get hacked on a limb, you're probably going to get gangrene. It doesn't matter where you are in the world, either.

There's another fun way to exploit that. There's a thing about aborted fetuses that says the fetus gets covered in flies and such within a certain time of coming out of the woman's body. Since it doesn't matter where the fetus is (flies just get to it after a while), by RAW you can make flies appear anywhere you want by getting a woman to abort a fetus there. One idea is to sneak a bunch of pregnant women into an enemy castle's grain storehouse and then try to abort their fetuses, which will infect their grain storehouse.

And, well, that's FATAL for you.

>>26401895
It's pretty lethal. There's one further thing they do with damage. In D&D, wearing armor just makes you harder to hit. In other games, wearing armor just reduces the damage you take. In FATAL, it does both.

Almost Graphic Gore! Geez. That would have been embarrassing.

A hit location roll of 17 is...again...to the Upper Left Leg. This is like Houby and Waad but to the left leg instead of hands.

Haha! His chainmail armor reduces his Agility by 2, from 121 to 119, which reduces his natural CA bonus from Agility from +4 to +3.

Thankfully, the Roman's Mail Hauberk does cover his upper legs!
The Roman is also right-handed (check his character sheet if you don't believe me), so his scutum also covers his upper left leg.

The total CA on the Roman's upper left leg is:

10 natural + 3 agility + 8 CAP chainmail hauberk + 10 CAP scutum = 31.

The woman's attack roll was
28 - 5 medium armor penetration on a rolling pin = 23
which isn't enough to damage the Roman. But it DOES damage his armor. When your attack roll is only stopped because the target has armor, you damage his armor instead of him. Because that would have hit if the shield were not there, I'll say the shield took all the damage.

Roll 1d4 for damage to the scutum from the rolling pin.

17 damage to the Upper Torso.

14 BP - 17 = FOREVER USELESS
Upper Torso destroyed, target killed.

The Gladius slides into the woman's left breast and down into her heart. Giving it a quick twist out of spite, then withdrawing it from the wound, Sextus Sewell is finally a single man.

He walks outside his door, and finds someone waiting just a few feet away. It's a Viking?

That would have hit the head and potentially the eye balls if it was an attack location roll. Impressive.

96 is an armor anomaly. I forgot to stick that in the fumble picture above, so.

You guys can figure out how you caught your spear on your shield or on your armor. The ultimate effect is that the viking gets TWO attacks against you this round!
>>
>>26404028
On the plus side, Waad's nuts aren't quite the same

The viking gets an extra attack against you. That's the general result of a fumble in FATAL, suffering an extra attack. In theory that leads to a higher likelihood of them fumbling, but...only slightly.

So, two attacks from the viking to the Roman.

>>26404209
Wow.

Both to-hit rolls scored a 9, both location rolls scored a 95. A 95 is the head, but I don't think you'll cause damage to the Roman here, I think it'll just hack away at his helmet. Thankfully it did hit his HEAD, not his FACE, or we'd use the lower armor values. And he'd be a very dead Roman.

3d10 + 7 = 16 for both strikes.
The Roman's CA is 13 + 5 CAH for the Helmet + 5 penetration from the axe = 23. His shield doesn't protect his head.

So both strikes hit him but fail to break through his helmet. If you're wondering about the Penetration, well, it's made out like a penalty to a to hit roll, but it's worded like a bonus to the enemy's CA. So I treat it like a bonus to the CA. The difference is, if you do the latter, you have more of a chance of bashing and damaging the guy's armor, whereas if you do the former you just plain miss more often. I'm not sure which way it's SUPPOSED to be because there are very few references to the Penetration of weapons in game.

So, two hits to the Roman's helmet.

The Horseman's Axe does 1d12+1 damage, then modified for strength and armor type.

Roll it! Two separate rolls of 1d12+1! I want to see two different anons doing the rolling.
>>
>>26404392
>Don't forget the Armor skills

If by face you mean upper shield arm.

Attack: 15 + 13 = 28
CA: 12 + 8 CAS chainmail + 10 CAS round wooden shield + 5 penetration of spear = 33

That deals the spear's damage to the shield. Or to the armor. The game doesn't specify. I can justify either approach. Anyway, hurt the shield! 2d10 damage to the shield.

Then the viking attacks with 3d10 and 1d100 for location.

Body Part Points are found by taking your total Life Points, multiplying it by 3, then multiplying each body part by its proportion. The minimum BPP a part can have is 1.

For example, the Upper Torso on a human has a proportion of 0.29. Our Roman has 22 LP. 22 * 3 = 66. Multiply 66 * 0.29 = 19.14. Truncate fractions, you get 19 BPP for the Upper Torso.

Another example, Waad's lower left leg, since you all love that part so much. Its proportion is 0.05. Waad has 23 LP. 23 * 3 * 0.05 = 3.45 = 3. His lower legs each have 3 BPP.

The Head and Face are different. Although they are two separate hit locations, they share their BPP totals. Along with the Upper and Lower torsos, if your Head/Face location hits 0, you die, no matter how many LP you have left.

The Head has a proportion of 0.06, the face has 0.02. This means their shared minimum BPP is 2, but for the Roman, his Head/Face has (66 * 0.06) + (66 * 0.02) = 3 + 1 = 4. Note that you truncate after each number is found, since they're technically two separate locations.

Know that when you hit someone through armor, their armor takes the same damage their body does. So I believe his helmet is destroyed or close to it. I'm not checking for it at the moment.

So his Head/Face has 4 BPP.
The axe just rolled 11 damage to his face. Let's see how much it dealt.
11 * 1.30 strength * 0.90 fulcrum point (forgot to account for that in the previous hacking attacks, my bad) * 0.50 helm, spangen, hacking = 6.435 = 6
Head/Face 4 BP - 6 = FOREVER USELESS.

Once again another Roman soldier dies to a viking splitting his head open with an axe. Rest in piece Sextus Sewell.

It'll be fun, I'm sure, and when I start the thread I should have everything ready to go, so we can get straight to the spellslinging.

>having a wife
Haha what a loser. Look at all the good it's done you, with your terrible RPs. If you were single you could enjoy REAL roleplaying.

I have no idea where I'm going with this. I hope you have a dozen anniversaries anon

Thank you anon. We are going strong with no slowing in site. Also I am a Paladin because of her. I did give up wizardom but it is worth it.

>So I've heard claims that FATAL was written as a joke, is there any proof one way or the other concerning this?
Nope, its not a joke.
The problem is that the guy doenst know why he was writing fatal
at one point to to make the game realistiic
other times he says the game is to make everyone have the same chance (that according to him explain the amount of randomness, like this random jobs) as you see this idea clash with the first one
a third one he say is that fatal is suposed to be a ultra hard but fun game (imagine dwarf fortress????), yet race randomness is not default it just happen if dm wants

he also says that fatal is about being historically realistic
but he included 2 magic system only that the guy is only able to cast magic that people (on our world) believed that existed, he even has where he found those spells, called cerimonial magic, those spells have default ritual, ingredients and words
and then he includes non historically realistic magic, for the sake of including his own spells
but at least he included something to try to fix that, his magic (called chaos magic if I remember) is not on books because the ritual needed to do them, names needed to say or ingredients varies from person to person, and so writing in a book how use it would be stupid.

another problem is that sometimes fatal is not about neveria (fatal main setting), and fatal can be used with any settings. But if I use with any setting, how the game will be historically realistic like the guy wanted?

another problem is that he say fatal is about any setting, (and sometimes not include stuff on the core book, telling the player to look at the neveria book), but he doenst include some stuff that would be needed to play with other settings or include stuff like job statistics is a from neveria

so basically he doenst know what he want his rpg to be, how the hell he will do it?
