Dry clothes? Check. Hopefully un-screwed up Yukari? Check. Worked out a plan to hopefully get the rest of girls who had witnessed the great All-Male Water Fight? Check. You hope.

You are the commander of the M26E1 Pershing Heavy Tank "Black Jack" and you've got one last thing to do before class resumes- You need to speak with the council. Luckily, Anzu and her retinue are nothing if not easy to find- they spend most of their lunches in the council room, using the time outside of class to discuss important school business ahead of official meetings.

And so, as you enter their sanctum, you find President Anzu reclining in the chair listening to music, Momo tapping away at her phone, and Yuzu cleaning the room. You really feel sorry for Yuzu sometimes.

You barge into the situation smoothly walking into their midst and taking a seat. "Another busy day for the student council?" You ask casually, grabbing a sweet potato chip from the bowl on the table in front of you. You lean back and put your feet up on the table. "You guys got a few minutes to talk?"

Momo, in classic fashion, is about two seconds from picking up her chair and throwing it at you. "Get your feet off the table or I'll-"

Anzu raises her hand to silence the Council's gunner. "Momo, that's enough." She says before opening a single eye to look over at your and removing an earbud. "What can I help you with today, Commander Russels?" She says politely.

There's a few things that need to be addressed, actually.

You've got a lot to discuss with the Student Council, but first you want to discuss something that's been bugging you since last night. "So why did Darjeeling give us that Excelsior?" You say casually. You hadn't exactly thought about it at the time, but the wager, even if Darjeeling had won the bet, was nowhere near in her favor.

Anzu looks at you. "Well, she lost a bet. I'm not sure how you Americans do it but the loser of the bet has to-"

"BULL!" You shout, in one smooth movement pulling your feet down and leaning over to pound the table. "She gave us that tank- the bet was just a way to give it to us. She's seen Rose shoot- she knows how good she is and yet she put a tank as rare as the Excelsior up against getting to use Black Jack for one fight?" You shake your head. "You know Darjeeling better than me- so why did she give us a tank? And volunteering to go that toadfish float, for that matter?!"

Anzu is quiet for a moment, looking over at Momo and Yuzu, who's stopped dusting shelves of school pictures and awards. She sighs. "Well, I suppose I can tell you. But what I'm about to say must be kept absolutely secret. Got it?"

You look at her, suddenly serious. "Alright, you've got my silence then. Let's hear it." You say, relaxing back into your chair again. If nothing else, you a man of your word- so you don't like agreeing to keep quiet about something before you even know what it is. "This better be good." You say crossing your arms.

Anzu takes a breath, but before she can start, Momo interrupts her. "You're just going to tell him? We agreed that we wouldn't tell anyone!"

"Momo, he's here to fight for us. He deserves to know at this point." Anzu replies, quieting her gunner before taking another breath and beginning. "So, as I told you, Darjeeling and myself are old friends- we actually went to the same Junior High School my parents had me attend Oorai."

You nod. "Yeah? So she gave you a tank as a friendly gift?"

"Not exactly, though I did ask for her help. You see, Russells, as the Student Council President, though the student body elects me, I serve at the pleasure of the Principal, Superintendant, and the Ministry of Education." She sighs, turning to look over at the shelves Yuzu had been dusting. "With the lack of budget, they've wanted me to cut even more programs but I've been resisting that. Right now Oorai is running in the red because I refused to cut several programs."

She's actually being quiet sincere at the moment, surprisingly.

She looks back over to you. "If we win this Senshado tournement, there will be a large budgetary prize for the winner- we'll be able to fund the Senshado program as well as all the current programs. We might even be able to bring back a few that were cut. However, at the end of the semester if the Superintendant find that my choices have kept us in the red, the Student Council will be out of our job."

>>
>>26421981
She probably didn't expect them to field it, considering that it's an utter piece of shit from a practical standpoint. Slow as hell, and actually pretty terrible at urban combat due to a comically oversized main gun.
>>
>>26422060
It's a miracle that the thing even made it to the town, really
>>
>>26421981
Probably. There's only one fully functional Maus in existence. I assume they took the time to recreate the tank with modern metals in an attempt to maintain the armour standards of Panzerfahren as well as the intended strength without using the absurd amounts of steel originally intended, fit the gun, and stick a brand new engine on it.
>>
>>26422060
over sized you say? YOU FOOL! you can never have enough DRAKA! even though buildings that cannon and knock out ANY of the tanks we can field! even black jack! and besides Black Jack (and the stunt they pulled to kill it in the show), they would be powerless to KILL IT!
>>
>>26421981
Alternate theory: the Maus was privately owned by Shiho, but she let Maho use it because fuck Miho and her dishonor
>>
>>26422101
Question is, why would they buy such a ludicrous tank when they could use the resources to buy more practical tanks?
>>
>>26422119
>over sized you say?
Yes. It's impractically long, and has terrible depression. You know the scene in Kelly's Heroes, where the Tiger can't turn the turret around in the narrow alleyway? The Maus, in an urban engagement, has that problem cranked up to 11. Originally, it was going to have a far more practical main armament. But Hitler said it looked like a toy gun, and demanded they put a bigger one on it.

Consider outside of the context of one tank against one tank. A Maus properly supported is near invincible if all your opponent can get are angled shots. To prevent the other team from moving around to get better shots you need the other tanks.
>>
>>26422346
>i don't know if Shiho is that cruel
She was going to straight-up disown Miho if she failed against Pravda and didn't even tell her that herself
>>
She's the Senshado version of the High Expectations Asian Father meme.
>>
>>26422361
>A Maus properly supported is near invincible if all your opponent can get are angled shots.
No.
It's not.
It tops out at 8.1 MPH under ideal conditions (read: a flat paved road in a straight line). To keep it supported, all their other tanks have to keep that same pace.
They're sitting ducks with that thing dragging them down.
So they get outmaneuvered, and fucked.
And then the Maus is all alone.
>b-b-but muh WoT
WoT is not realistic. Fun, but not realistic.

Not even that, she was going to disown her for being a heretic against the Nishizumi-Ryu.

T54 is the type of cannon that we have in Black Jack, numbnuts.
>>
>>26422346

Beg to differ on that. Black Jack was one of the two tanks modified with the T54 90mm gun. The gun was eventually replaced with the M3 90mm cannon before it was put into service during the Korean War. Post-Korea it was modified back to it's World War II configuration to be used for Tanking before eventually being stored on Grandpa's farm.
>>
>>26422346

I think the use of the Maus relates to the matter of overwhelming force and 'superior' tactics. Imagine the reaction when said team lost to a plucky upstart school with handme down tanks.

>"Though I get the feeling if someone tried to face them in a more normal fashion, they'd get crushed."
That's what the Nishizumi-ryo is about, apparently. The moment someone with enough tactical acumen comes along to wreck their shit (E.g. Miho), they'll get stomped.

Miho lost Kuromorimine's championship to Pravda because one of the tanks in her convoy drowned and she tried to save the crew.

Granted, she might have tried to call the match to a stop first but it's what she did.

Well, she was also an observer of the final match and we saw spectators wandering around the tank garages. Like Yukari said, pre-match scouting is allowed. Miho just neglected it
>>
>>26422618
Honestly, the tournament is practically BUILT so Kuroromine has the edge. The "Flag Tank" match type heavily favors the use of one obscenely well armored tank. Hell, they could have made the Maus their FT , and camped all day. Forced the other team to come to them and get ripped apart by late-war German TDs.
>>
>>26422714
I was under the impression that the judges designated the flag tank for each team
>>
>>26422675
There's a great deal of information gathering on other schools. Yukari infiltrating Saunders, Arisa knew that Ooarai was being shut down and presumably other things. So Katyusha probably heard that a Maus was recently sold and/or acquired by Kuromorimine.
>>
>>26422729
And they just happened to designate the two Nishizumi sisters as flag for the final battle.

That's official misconduct and abuse of power. To the point where where Kuromorimine could probably get the results thrown out by lodging a protest.

You look over at Anzu. "So, winning this tournement will actually help the school?" You say. "More than just 'Oh hey! We won at tanks! We're great!'?" You think about the Volleyball team and remember how short the list of electives you'd gotten actually was. "So whether we win this tournement determines that much?"

Anzu nods. "I didn't want to tell the rest of the team because they're already going to be under pressure to win. I'm not sure how many of them would perform knowing how much rides on this tournement." She reaches over and grabs a sweet potato chip. "I want you to keep this a secret, commander. The part where they made Kuromorimine's former #2 and sister of their commander the flag tank. An argument could very easily be made that the judges acted outside their purview to unfairly influence the match. Especially because Kuromorimine demonstrably lost because of the flag tank choices.

Though were it the case the judges would have already been drummed out after the Saunders flag tank just happened to be the one with the radio interception equipment while Oorai's was the one with the thinnest armor.

There's really no way to avoid constant allegations of misconduct unless the flag is decided by random or by one of the teams.

The T30 has bad armor, but has a godly turret, and you can actually move. It's best played behind the frontliners, where you can get a shot in and not get shot back. All of Yukari's tank fantasies are still populated by tanks. Only now they are draped in all-male tank crews hosing the tank, and each other, down.

Also, Mako is either a robot or a lesbian. or both.
>>
>>26423559
They didn't change it for SPGs.
>>
>>26423908
>"So how do we un-screw the girls who did witness it?"

Because we can't really operate a Tank Company when all the other tanks are going,
"I wonder if sempai will notice me today"

>Other.
I can arrange an encore if you need it.

We are 16. Our dick matters more than all the sports in the world.

Sure we can. Alice apparently manages just fine most of the time.

Now I want there to be waterfights with our crew, but only if Anzu isn't there, just to fuck with her.

No, in man speak that's 'Being a dick'

We're not doing this because we like her or anything!

I want you to imagine a jealous Anzu who has shown up just after a waterfight ended, with the other crews wearing little smiles and being mildly flustered. I find it a very amusing thought.

Oh dear, they only have schürzen for one side.

"Yeah, probably a good thing you weren't there..." You start, looking down in embarassment. "Had lunch with Anglerfish team and I could barely say two words to them without any of them blushing and looking away..." You shiver a bit. "It was... creepy."

Anzu is looking annoyed with her hand on her cheek. "And we missed it... So, what did you want to do about it? You planning any encore shows?" She says, jokingly.

"Well, so far the plan is a frank and honest discussion about-" You begin, but Anzu cuts you off.

"So no encores. Hope that paperwork was important, Yuzu!" She calls back behind her. "Bah! I'm never around for stuff like that!"

You blink. "...So yeah, I was wondering if you had any advice or anything? Maybe want to help us get the girls back into a proper frame of mind." You say, a bit annoyed. "Going to be hard to win a tank match if they're all preoccupied with with they'll impress sempai..."

"Actually..." Anzu says, bolting upright, "Maybe we can use this! Get all of them competing for your crew's attention!"

"Nope." You say, definitively.

"Wait, just hear me out-"

"Nope." You say putting your hands out in front of you for emphasis.

"If they all think that doing well in-" She continues, grinning evilly at the thought of such an emotionally manipulative idea.

"Nope. Nope. Nope." You say, standing up from your seat.

"Senshado will get the attention of your crew..." The idea that your crew would be put in such an uncomfortable position was probably also a huge bonus for her.

"Uh-uh. Nope." You say, straightening your shirt and adjusting your pants.

"They'll fall all over each other trying to be the best!" She says quickly, trying to convince you.

"Nope, nein, never, nyet!" You repeat as you walk to the door and open it.

"It would totally work!" She yells as you walk out the door.

"NO! GOOD DAY, MA'AM." You say as you slam the door closed.

Next time on GuPQ

>We better not get roped into this shit I swear to God I will be angry
>>
>>26425431

See that's what we would do! But Russels here, he's an awkward teenager who freaks out at the mere tought of "Girls, wat do?" (Despite having one on his team he's clearly bro' with, and could get help from, but yeah, that's another can of worms). The very idea of being put up as some sort of target for the attention of over a dozen girls would send him running for the hills...

Not that it will matter, Anzu being Anzu, she'll make it happen no matter what our stance on the matter is...
>>

>We totally give in to Anzu anyway

>Shit didn't we promise Yukari a date?

She's easily distracted, remember. We just need to have a friendly match with the volleyball club while she's around

>Afternoon Senshado practice- let's get our frank honesty on!

Girls und Panzer Quest will return sometime this week- I'm changing departments so my schedule is a bit in flux right now, but I'll announce the days/times on Twitter as I find out.

Speaking of which: Follow me on Twitter for schedule updates and to know when the thread goes live!

Oh, we will... That's Anzu for you!

And we didn't even talked about the main subject, dammit!

Could work... Could also motivate her in her shenanigans to get her share of beefcake!

Oh god she's going to get the StuCo team spraying us with hoses every time she can, isn't she?
>>
>>26425621
No no, not so far. This is just to sate her dissapointment
>>
>>26425644

considering how devious she can be, I'd say hosing us down is a distinct probabilty, but she'll probably convince (one of) the other teams to do it. She's good at getting other people to do what she wants...
>>
>>26425644

and then one of our team (probably us) gets sick.

>>

She didn't, but she was looking to Rose for support before she asked us over

No. SHe just asked if we wanted to come over, and if we'd ever seen The Beast.
The Beast is a GREAT movie, by the way.
>>
>>26425916

You sound like you think this is a bad thing...

Anyway, after our little watery demonstration, Yukari will probably have some concurrence. To the MC's horror and our delight!
