Your name is Scarlet Crocker and you are currently getting shot at by a modified Dorado armed with a Vulcan Gatling Cannon. The few first bursts you managed to avoid, but this section of the colony interior wall is pretty cramped meaning you have very little room to maneuver and room to fly around.

Walker and his troops are putting some distance between you and his men to avoid getting crushed or hit by misfires.
The Military Dorado is getting ready for another attack. Your only weapons are an Anti-Infantry Flamethrower/20mm Vulcan gun, a pair of beam sabers and the prototype beam shields attached to the Gawain’s forearms.

What will you do Scarlet?

>A) Use the Beam shields to try and block the next attack

>B) Bum rush the Dorado with your beam sabers to destroy it!

>C) Other
>>
> Rush that motherfucker.
>>
Use the shield to approach the suit while the troops position themselves in safe locations.
Then use the beam sabers to rip it to shreds.
>>
>>26547432
Wait, I thought it was a Desperado, not a Dorado. Typo?

Anyway, let's tank the shots with the beam shield while we advance to get between the mobile suit and the infantry.

>>

Hold the shield at an angle to reduce strain from blocking the gatling cannon and charge in with sabers.
>>
Are the regular ballistic weapons (not railguns or beam weapons) safe to use in the walls of the colony? The others can break through the walls, that's why we didn't pick up any, but if these can't, we should try to disarm the Desperado and take that weapon just in case we encounter more of these bastards.
>>
>>26547661
Nice idea. Can't be that hard to disarm it if we get into close range. The Desperado doesn't even have a fusion reactor, no way it can match the output the Gawain has. Even if it's designed for heavy work environments, we can probably overpower it physically. Unless the Anansi drones have made some major modifications, of course. It still has the exhaust pipes for its engine, though, so it can't be running a heavier powerplant.
>>
>>26547432
Wait a minute... beam sabers, beam shields, and a 20mm Vulcan? Did I miss something? Back in part 26, when the mounted weapons for the Merlin and Gawain were made, the Gawain also had shoulder-mounted scattering beam cannons and the beam shields also had beam saber and DODS Rifle modes. There is a railgun in the head as well. Did all of these get disabled somehow earlier, or did you forget about them?
>>
>>26547778
We disabled them. We're in the colony walls right now. We don't want to fire anything heavy enough to cause collateral damage on a miss.
>>
>>26547778
(You still have the Head-Mounted Railgun and Scattering Beam cannons, but using them in this close a space would breach the walls and Walker and his men)

>>26547499
>>26547583
>>26547601
Activating beam shield and angling it, you draw one of your beam sabers and boost forward to eviscerate the Desperado. The revamped machine fires on you, it's powerful Vulcan Gatling Cannon pounds your beam shield, putting immense strain on the emitter. Due to the spread of the gunfire, a few shots fly under your shield and strike the Gawain's legs.

However once you get into range a single swing is all it takes to destroy Desperado. You avoid cutting into it's torso to avoid causing a explosion, so you settle for cutting it's limbs off and kicking it over. As the Desperado crashes to the ground you see small arms fire to your right as Walker's team engages a group of Anansi. It's dark and your the only one with night vision, but you can see there are a LOT of Anasi, not all of them are attacking however, you can see a dozen in the back working on something near the capacitors for the solar array...

Before you can act however several more armed Desperados trudge onto the scene from the back, all armed with the same Vulcan Gatling cannons the last one was carrying. They're quite a ways away but are getting into position to fire. What will you do Scarlet?

>Damage to Legs- 10%, no immediate problems

>Beam Shield- Beam Emitter is cooling down from the barrage, putting it under further strain may cause a short out.
>>
>>26547705
I doubt that they made major modifications, but we can't be too sure. As far as we know, they were stealing electronics and breaking into homes to raid for whatever materials they could find, which they probably used to make more of themselves, but it's possible that they made a modified suit, but it's safer to assume that they found some and just upgraded them to work independently.
>>
>>26547817
> Vulcan Gatling
So the Vagans are upgrading their tech as well.

Okay, we need to get rid of those things and fast. I don't think going into melee with them is an option because we'd get swarmed by bugs. Is dualwielding the flamethrower and the Gatling an option?
>>
>>26547817
Grab the downed Desperado and use it as a shield. Fire back with its Gatling, too.
>>
>>26547941
Yeah, let's do that.
As for Walker and his men, tell them to take secure location (perhaps the cut-off limbs of the Desperado?) where they can see what's going on and from where they can provide covering fire. The Anansi are anti-infantry units, if they stay in the open they're done for.
>>
>>26547919
The Vulcan Gatling Guns the Desperados are using aren't very advanced, they're shell based ballistic weapons. They don't have enough power to bust through the colony wall but they can do some damage and pick apart a suit pretty well however. The Anasi probably found them lying around in the walls somewhere.

>Dualwielding the flamethrower and the Gatling
The Flamethrower/20mm Vulcan is a single handheld weapon, if you needed to use both hands you could put it on a hip hard-point. Thankfully you can fire the Vulcan Gatling Gun with one hand.

>>26547941
>>26547941
Holstering your anti-infantry weapon you grab the torso of the Desperado and grab it's Vulcan Gatling Cannon. Holding the torso up as a temporary shield you use it to block the incoming fire of the enemy Desperados, while returning fire.

As you do so, you notice that Walker and his men are being hit pretty hard. Turning on the comm you attempt to radio them to tell them where to take cover, but you find that nothing is getting through. Your communications are being jammed!

Suddenly an Aanasi leaps down from the ceiling and latches onto one of Walker's men and explodes. The others were far away enough that they didn't get caught in the blast, but there's nothing left of the Genorider user but scrap metal and meat.

>1 of Captain Walker's men has died
>Communications are being jammed
>10% Damage to legs
>Damage to Desperado torso increasing
>Beam Emitter has cooled off to optimum tempature

What will you do Scarlet?
>>
>>26548129
Light them up.
Use the Desperado as a shield - the enemy will soon have to cool down their weapons - and use the flamethrower to give some breathing time to Walker and his men.
>>
>>26548129
Mobile suits have external speakers, switch to those. As for the Desperados, toss the torso we're using as a shield at them then shoot the engine midair with the Gatling to detonate the hydrogen tanks. We're doing this hardboiled action hero style. Then we charge in to their disrupted ranks with the beam sabers, now that the shield has cooled down and can cover our approach again. Though we actually have two shields, so we probably don't need to worry about overload that much if we're careful about swapping them out.
>>
>>26548222
>>26548267
Combine the two. Use the flamethrower to draw the attention of the Anansi. When they jump on you, block them with the torso of the Desperado, throw them all at the other suits, then blow it up with a careful shot. Then move in for the kill with the beam sabers and flamethrower.
>>
>>26548222
>>26548267
>>26548308
"Walker! Move back and take cover by these arms over here!" you shout over the Mobile Suits external speakers.

Switching to your flamethrower you take and spray a wall of fire a couple of feet in front of Walker's men. The wall of fire stops and redirects the Anasi, allowing you to light some of them up. They may be robots, but the heat still hooks them like cheap toasters,

After buying some breathing room for Walker, you turn your attention back towards the Desperados. The torso shield of yours was wearing down pretty quickly, so you decide to use it to get close to the others.

Pulling the Gawain's arm back you chuck the torso at the enemy and shot it in mid air, detonating the Hydrogen engine and causing a big enough explosion to disrupt the orderly Desperado ranks.

Ditching the Gatling you rush at them, both beam shields raised. By the time they start firing again you are already in melee range, a few chops and a jump allows you to bring down the make-shift weapons pretty quickly, but not without taking a few nasty hits in the leg again.

Looking back you see that Walker and his men have taken cover by the legs and are doing better off after you thinned out the Anasi a bit. However your viewing is interrupted when a proximity warning goes off.

Confused after gazing around and seeing nothing, you look down and see a ten Anasi climbing the legs of the Gawain, heading up towards you in the cockpit.

What will you do Scarlet?

>1 of Captain Walker's men has died
>Communications are being jammed
>20% Damage to legs, slight drop in mobility
>Both Beam Emitters in beam shields are overheated. Cooldown of 5 minutes required before use.
>>
>>26548581
>a ten Anasi
(I mean ten Anasi, damn typos)
>>
>>26548581
Activate the jammer. Our anti-funnel system is based on disabling their electronics, not blocking X-Waves. With the Anansi with that close proximity, we should fuck them up pretty badly. Supplement with physically swatting them off the Gawain and we should get them away from us.
>>
>>26548581
Well, shit. Call for some support from Walker, and try to shake them off. They probably can't hold on for long considering the Gawain's speed and maneuverability, so we need to do a backflip to a more secure location or something. We don't want these things blowing up in our face.

Seconding.
The anti-funnel is a jamming system that has radius of over 2km, it should fuck them up badly if we hit it at close range.
>>
>>26548829
>>26548829
Activating the prototype anti-funnel system you watch as most of the Anansi start seizing up and falling off. While the Anti-Funnel system was only meant to disrupt the electronics of funnels, it's obvious that it's not very nice to un-shielded electronics at this range.

All but two of the Anansi seize up and fall off. The remaining two Anasi appear to be diffrent from the others. As if realizing the danger, the two speed up their assent, one headed directly for the cockpit and one rushing past towards the head of the Gawain.

What will you do Scarlet?
>>
>>26549072
"Oh shit oh shit oh shit"
Try to swap those things off.
>>
>>26549072
We have two hands, don't we? Grab them and throw them off of us.
>>
>>26549123
Better not grab them, they might explode and then we can't use any weapons.
Just swat them off.
>>
>>26549143
>>26549117
You quickly flail the Gawains arms, slapping them against it's body to try and destroy the Anansi. You manage to get the one headed towards your cockpit, but the one going for the head makes it there and immediate fires into the main cameras of the Gawain.

The screen in your cockpit goes black before switching over to the backup cameras. Your panoramic screen is patchy now and the picture is fuzzy at best.

It's very difficult to see and you've lost sight of the Anansi still on the Gawain.

What will you do Scarlet?
>>
>>26549259
"Walker? A little help here?"
>>
>>26549259
Fire the head vulcans. AGE-verse head vulcans are beam weapons, not solid shells. If we disable the magnetic bottle that gives them coherence, they'll dissipate before they get far enough to cause collateral damage, and spread out enough to hit everything in the front of our head. It would fry the hell out of our main sensors, too, but those are already gone. So let's set our head on fire.
>>
>>26549451
That would work, but are we sure the thing is still on our head? If it isn't, we just blew ourselves a hole in the fucking head, and we're still stuck with an angry spider robot that apparently packs quite a punch. And we might need those vulcans for whatever the Anansi are setting up.

Anyway, what's the status on Walker and his men? How are they holding up?
>>
>>26549591
>Anyway, what's the status on Walker and his men? How are they holding up?

You can't see clearly, but the gunfire has stopped. That could be bad or good...

>>26549451
The Gawain doesn't have standard Vulcans, it has a EM Railgun built into it's head and firing that in here would probably punch a hole in the wall.

>>26549334
"Walker! I need some assistance!" You shout over the Gawain's external speakers before you hear the sound of tearing metal. It was obvious the Anasai was just outside of the cockpit. Reaching for your side arm you realized you forgot to bring one.

Just as you turn your head back to the cockpit door, a bladed mechanical arm breaks though and begins to tear back the metal. Before the mechanized spider can finish peeling off the cockpit door like the top to a sardines can, there is a loud gunshot and something punches through the Anansi's torso, wizzing past your head and burying itself into one of the screens of your panoramic cockpit.

The Anasi loses it's grip and falls 15 meters onto the hard concrete floor.

"Are you alright Commander?" Walker yells up to you as you stick your head out to see him waving a high power sniper rifle.

What do you wish to say Scarlet?
>>
>>26549650
"Holy shit, I thought I was done for. Captain Walker, you're a lifesaver. I'm fine, but the Gawain's sensors are badly damaged."
"What's the situation down there?"
>>
>>26549719
"Holy shit, I thought I was done for. Captain Walker, you're a lifesaver. I'm fine, but the Gawain's sensors are badly damaged. What's the situation down there?" You ask, seeing most of Walkers man alive and well.

"We've taken care of most of the Anasi I believe, at least ones in this area. I don't think there will be many more, but there could be a few lurking. Do you want to return topside while me and my men clear things out?" Walker asks, looking over the battered Gawain with concern.

Well Scarlet?
>>
>>26549650
"Nice shot, Captain. The main sensors are shot but I'm still operational. Just don't expect me to be much good at range. Good thing we're in close quarters, huh? How are your men? Think we can make a push for whatever they're assembling over there?"

"Yes they are. Do you want me to call down a bomb crew?" Walker asks.

"Not yet, let me take a look at it..." You trudge over in the Gawain and get out to examine it...

At first you have no fucking idea what the mess of electronics, components and cannibalized Anasi are. However after looking at it all and following some of the connections you slowly realize that it's not tied to the colony's network at all, but rather the Colony's Transmitters themselves!

They weren't assessing the network, they were transmitting something the Vagan Forces! You don't and can't know what that was since the device was destroyed during the fight, but whatever was sent probably wasn't anything good.

You and Walker search the area, but find no remaining Anansi. All of the surviving machines were ether destroyed or self-destructed after the battle was lost.

The Anasi threat has been eliminated and you discovered they were here to collect information, but on what? And why? You aren't sure.

What do you wish to do Scarlet?
>>
>>26550566
That's about what I assumed, but that doesn't make me feel any better. There is a lot of potential intel they could have gotten from here. At least we have the consolation of having done the same to them just a few days ago.

Well, let's get the remains hauled off. These Anansi should be more intact than the ones we killed with beam weapons, we might be able to learn something from them. And then we go get Gawain fixed up, continuing the Crocker family tradition of verbally apologizing to and hugging our Gundam whenever it gets hurt.
>>
>>26550566
Call HQ, tell them to send us some transports to pick these things up for research and analysis. And some medics.
We're also going to need a team of engineers over here to take that transmitter down, possibly track and examine whatever they were working on.
Get out there and salute Walker for a job well done. Give him your condolences as well, we just lost a good man.
>>
>>26550659
It was either a transmission tower from where they spied on our communications (and holy crap, we just sent the Adele blueprints), or a control tower from where they controlled the Anansi robots. As soon as we take that down, we need to establish a secure communication network with the other colonies and inform them of these things.
Who knows how many more are infiltrated and what these things are capable of doing if left unchecked?

As for apologizing to the Gawain, is Gawain a he or a she?
>>
>>26550790
No, we were careful about sending the Adele blueprints since we knew Anansi might be watching. We handed them off to the Fardain soldiers who were with us to deliver manually. Best way to avoid being listened in on.

As for Gawain's gender, I'd say female. The Arthurian knight was male, but I can see Scarlet finding a certain fun in thinking of his namesake as being female. Plus, the slim frame kind of lends itself to that. It's the norm with mobile suits. Just look at her mom's Farsia. Totally a girl suit.

Oh good, I forgot about the Fairdain soldiers delivering them.
I was afraid we're going to end up with Vagan reverse-engineered AGE-1s.

As for the Gawain, yeah, that's what I was thinking. It's totally a girl.
>>
>>26551043
Not just the AGE-1. If Daiki's dad is anything to go by, a sufficiently skilled engineer could reverse engineer the entire AGE System. Somehow. Ryuji might just have been a savant of some sort, though. Or maybe his timeline saw more widespread use of the AGE Builder so he got to examine its workings first hand at some point. Still not a risk we'd want to take, though. EXA-DB plus AGE makes for crazy shit. Getting a proto-Legilis a generation early would not be fun to deal with.

You make a call to HQ and have some trucks and men brought down to collect what's left of the Anansi. There isn't a single one intact, but with a truckload of broken ones they should be able to figure out something about them.

The work will take an hour and it'll be mostly recruits doing the work, but with how hard Grandpa Jack has been pushing them this will seem like a vacation.

Engineers are also sent down to disassemble the contraption and to try to figure out more about it. Walker and his men stay down to keep watch for anything dangerous.

As you leave for the topside you give him a salute. "Good job Walker, you have my condolences in regards to your lost man."

"Thank you. If it weren't for you I could have a lost a lot more men. It's nice to see a Commander who's less concerned about Paperwork and more concerned about the people under her command. If you ever need help with something, don't hesitate to call" Walker says with a wink.

Returning to the hanger you give a quick look around to make sure the coast is clear before giving Gawain a big apology hug.

"Scarlet? Everything alright up there?" Your father asks as he enters the hanger.

You quickly pull yourself away from the Gawain and smile. "Yep. I was just...inspecting the paint job." You say with a whistle.

"Righhhht" Jake says with an amused smile.

"How long do you think the repairs will take?" You ask.

"Damaged optics, joint damage, minor armor damage, torn off cockpit, 3 hours tops." Jake says reassuringly.

What do you wish to do now Scarlet? Maybe talk to Dad a little?

We already have a proto-Vagan Gear on our hands, who knows what else is coming our way. If there are Vagan collaborators in the Federation (and there probably are), somebody might've given them the blueprints for the Adeles already. And the info that the AGE device is currently on the Moon, piloted by Akito, which means that Woolf and his team are going to face the worst of the attack force. And that's not even counting Zeheart in, who could have gotten the blueprints for it already.

As for Ryuji, he lived in the period after the war when the AGE builder saw some widespread use in researching and developing tech that was used for the various restoration projects going on. He probably had the chance to work with one of them, if not examine it closely.
>>
>>26551289
Did he? I haven't found a translated copy of Treasure Star online, so all I have to go by is the limited information on the wiki. I thought he came from near the end of the war, not after it. Well, that makes a lot more sense, then. Too bad he didn't have any of the really cool stuff with him when he got sent back in time, though. Post-war tech is pretty cool. I want the A-Funnels, they would make things so much easier to deal with.
>>
>>26551273
Yeah, let's talk with Jake. Try not to mention that Dirk got his arm blown off.

>>26551373
I just assumed. It makes more sense than "I glanced at a wrecked suit, and now I know how to replicate a learning, evolving factory capable of churning out advanced equipment to deal with the situation at hand". That, and he's from the future, where they did combine the EXA-DB and the AGE to create that Everse system. So it's possible that the AGE became publicly available tech.
>>
>>26551468
That, and the Treasure Star's original purpose was interstellar travel, which is kinda hard to get funding for when there's a war going on.
>>
>>26551508
True. I suppose it's not impossible, given the sort of crazy projects that do get funded in canon, but that makes sense. Which makes me wonder why he had an Adele if the war was over. Odd for him to have a mobile suit with him in that scenario. Testing the revolver catapult, maybe?
>>
>>26551468

You chat with Dad abit, avoid talking about Dirk losing his arm, and eventually come to the subject of the Anti-X-Rounder System.

“The Prototype Anti-Funnel system on the Gawain isn’t very good, once they figure out they need shielding it’ll be useless.” You explain.
“Well don’t worry about that, the other Prototype Anti-X-Rounder project I was working on went pretty well.” Jake says with a smile.

“Huh? What do you mean?” You ask.

“It’s…a complicated system. See, only other X-Rounders can produce X-Waves. Machines can’t. So I had to dabble with some…stuff I found.” Jake admits somewhat awkwardly.

“Stuff?”

“I was sent some data anonymously when I reached a block in my research. It was data on an organic crystal compound. When I grew it, I figured out it produced X-Waves sometimes. By shaping the crystals into a frame and building around it I could manipulate the output of the X-Waves to the point it interfered with other X-Rounders control of Bits and even cause them physical pain.”

“Wait, you’re saying you built this using data some mysterious person sent you!?” You ask, shocked and worrid by this revelation.

“Shhhh! Don’t shout! If Mellis figured out about this, she’d crucify me…but yes I built it. However I haven’t been able to use it due to the strain it puts on X-Rounders and the suits tendency to go beserk…”

“Berserk?”

“The crystals are organic in nature. They’re a form of silicon life, like certain rare forms of bacteria.”

“So the crystals are alive?” You ask

(Cont)
>>
>>26551669
“In a way, yes. They aren’t necessarily sentient, but I theorize they could be used to build advanced A.I Cores. I’ve been toying with the idea of building a core for Ma G to live in. The Quantum Core in my G-Phone will reach its capacity eventually, after that point Ma G won’t be able to grow or develop properly. If I don’t find a new home for her soon her original programming might kick in and erase the progress she’s made.”

“But you did use the data to build a weapon, this only became about Ma G when you figured out about her growth.” You ask in a somewhat worried tone.

“Yes. I built a weapon using the data. I know I’m supposed to be the one you count on to make sure things don’t go to hell, but we need to be ready. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. “ Jake states firmly. “The Vagans have a tremendous amount of X-Rounders on their side, artificial and natural. That’s the reason I developed this system, so I could help end the Vagan’s technological advantage.”

“But you didn’t hand it over because of its tendency to go berserk?”

“Yeah, that and I don’t like releasing powerful tech out of my reach. Especially tech I can’t use…”

“So if you can’t use it why did you bring it to Vagan with you?”
“I didn’t want to just leave it lying around. Besides I technically can use it, but It’ll kill me in the process.”

“So what do you intend to do with it?” You ask.

“Destroy it. The crystal is delicate and is difficult to create. However if Dirk can get those nano-machines functional then I can combine it with the crystal. That’ll make it easier to make and work with the crystal as well as construct a core for Ma G.
Besides I think the two might work well together, Nano-machines and an organic crystal that can produce X-Waves? I could build a next generation machine with it given a decade or two of research…”

What do you think about this Scarlet?
>>
>>26551679
"Dad, don't get carried away. I trust you to do the smart thing, but this sounds like an opening to a bad horror movie where machines take over humanity. I mean, I can kick their ass, but I'll feel bad for trashing your work. And don't worry about Dirk, he'll pull through. It's not like he's got something better to do. You'll have your nanotech soon enough. Just... be careful, okay?"

"And who's this mysterious contact of yours sending you data? Any ideas?"

>>26551614
Maybe as a working suit? It probably wasn't hard to create a wear for the Adele to replace the Desperado.
Or as a test suit for the Revolver Catapult. Or maybe because there are still pirates out there, but in that case he'd probably use something newer.

"What is it with the people I care for revealing to me that they have incredibly terrifying yet incredibly awesome technology in the prototype stage? Dirk with the nanotech, Rysis with the cybernetics, you with the psy-crystals... it's getting kind of scary. I mean, Jesus, I know we joke about how your next mobile suit should be an Evangelion, but I didn't think you'd take it seriously. Just promise this won't end in the souls of all mankind being consumed. Which actually seems like a reasonable fear given that it could kill you to use. You're not an X-Rounder. Are the X-Waves so strong that even ordinary people get resonance issues? That's worrying. Though I can't deny it will be awesome if it does work. Semi-biological psychic Gundams? Pretty cool, Dad. I'm glad you're being careful, though."

"Alright, alright. Don't worry about it."

"And who's this mysterious contact of yours sending you data? Any ideas?"

"I have no idea. Whoever he or she is, is VERY smart or has access to a lot of information." Jake admits.

"So what are you gonna call the Crystal-stuff?" You ask.

"I was thinking of calling it Grail. I mean I've stuck with the Arthurian theme this long I might as well keep going with it." Jake says with a shrug.

"Seriously Dad. Don't go crazy with the stuff." You warn as you walk away, thinking on what do to next.

What do you wish to do Scarlet?

Anti-X-Rounder system that goes berserk and hates X-Rounder pilots...oh God its the fucking EXAM System...
>>
>>26552203
Let's get Romary and see those scientists and accountants that arrived from Minsry. Maybe they have something new for us.
We did order those sub-office and lab supplies, right?

>>26552245
It's scary how well it fits with Ezelcant's theme of hating X-Rounders yet constantly spamming them. It'd be a clusterfuck if he gets a hold of these things. I doubt that he sent the data to Jake, though. If he had something like this, he'd already grew those things inside the heads of his soldiers.
>>
>>26552245
Yep. Though was the "hates when a Newtype pilots it" thing canon or just something we made up for Zeonquest? I mean, I can't see any reason why a Newtype would work well with the EXAM system, but I don't think any of them actually pilots one in The Blue Destiny.

Anyway, it has promise. First nanotech and all the power that brings, now wraithbone? Our Gen 3 mobile suit is going to be ridiculous. Especially if we get a Grail AI of our own to assist in piloting, like if MID eventually matures to the point he needs to transfer to a psy-crystal processor. Would be an excuse to get him out of Dirk's arm, too. I like the little guy, but if he insists on detaching our arm every time he needs personal mobility things aren't going to end well.

What an auspicious name. Surely nothing can go wrong.

>We did order those sub-office and lab supplies, right?

Dad ordered them. Last time you checked they were supposed to arrive in a couple of hours.

You decide to visit the scientists and accountants that arrived from Minsry. After fetching Rosemary you go to the temporary housing where they have been staying for the past hour or so.

After introductions they tell you how things have been going on Minsry and how Zeek and the other Vagan Scientists are hard at work.

"They're happy to know that your father is a man of his word. Anyone else would have handed them over to the Federation by now, what with the increasing attacks and invasions of the colonies and such. Things are at a boiling point." One of the scientists says, giving you a hearty handshake.

"My Dad's pretty amazing, even if he tends to be stupid in his own right sometimes. Oh, have you guys had any issues with robotic spiders over there?" You ask out of the blue.

"Our forces are working on clearing them out as we speak, so are the Fairdain forces as well. Have you had issues with them?"

"Kind of, just annihilated a truckload of them." You say, pointing to the nearby truck.

"Zeek would probably appreciate if you ship those over. He's been studying the damaged ones he has, but they tend to follow Vagan's rule of 'Don't let the enemy get our stuff'." The scientist explains.

"So does Zeek know anything about the Anansi?"

I think the hating Newtypes was partially something Zeonquest came up with. The problem with the canon EXAM System was the trapped soul of Newtype Marion Welch driving the pilots insane trying to contact them. The system also put a heavy burden on the pilots' minds. Frankly, having a dead Newtype constantly bugging you while the MS pushes your body and mind to the limit would be even worse on a Newtype than an Oldtype, I think. Might have to dig around for some ROMS of the game...
>>
>>26552448
Well, mobility and detaching aside, you know that MID has probably the most dirt on Dirk.
And he probably will say something he shouldn't at the worst possible time.

Also, imagine Haro and MID in his arm form playing around.

"Well he's been out of the loop for over 20 years, but a little while before the Battle of Ambat there were discussions about building infiltration and anti-infantry androids using Cybernetic data they got off some fruit loop working for them." The scientist made circles around his ear with his finger. "Zeek was captured by your father shortly after hearing that so he never got to confirm if it was true. However it wouldn't be too much of a stretch that they took advanced Cybernetics and managed to make an infiltration robot out of it. Not really an android, but it doesn't need to look human to be an effective weapon"

"Thanks for the info. I'll dump these things on a shuttle and send them off as soon as possible. Your lab will be ready when I get the necessary equipment. We only just finished building it today..." You explain.

"Oh it's quite alright. Dr. Halsey has explained the situation to us. We're happy to help."

You leave the scientists as you escort the accountants/paper pushers to the Sub-Offices and allow them to work on a proper office set up and brainstorm a filing system.

It is 1:00 PM, what do wish to do Scarlet?

Well, now I have to think of a name for the Gen 3 Gundam related to the Holy Grail. Percival Gundam, maybe? Using the Siege Perilous pilot system?

Anyway, let's check on the labs. Do we have the equipment we need by now, or did the spider-hunt not take long enough for it to have arrived?
>>
>>26552823
Damn it, Rysis. Well, maybe she knows how to take advantage of weaknesses in them if they're derived from her design. We should ask her about that.
>>
>>26552823
> some fruit loop working for them
Goddamn it Rysis.

Okay, two things: See where those supplies are, and inform other colonies (besides Minsry and Fairdain) of the Anansi infiltrators. Maybe Walker can deliver a report on what to expect and how to combat those things. And while we're at it, find Rysis and see if she knows something about combating these things, considering how they're based on her.

Somewhere out there, the crystals are just waiting to be used to bring back SHODAN...
>>
>>26553322
Are you proposing that the crystals are the Many? Well, it is a thousand years in the future. Plenty of time for the Von Braunn incident to have happened and it just have been struck from the historical record.
>>
>>26553322
Maybe that's the reason MaG was memory-wiped and stuck in the Crusader?

Okay, wild guessing time.
What if all the pre-war tech the Feds are currently having (but not using) is stored in the Luna base, and the person who sent Jake the data on those psy-crystals is there as well? Maybe that's why the Vagan attacked it, instead of going for Big Ring immediately.

>Damn it, Rysis. Well, maybe she knows how to take advantage of weaknesses in them if they're derived from her design. We should ask her about that.

You find Rysis in your office, changing the sheets on your cot.

"Rysis, did you know those Robot spiders were based off of you?" You ask as you walk into the room.

"Really? Well it's probably a very distant relationship. I mean I am physically enhanced, but it's not like I have a metal exoskeleton under my skin or something." Rysis explains.

"Well are you sure they don't share any of your weaknesses?"

"Well I don't really have any weaknesses, safe for electricity. Of course the volts it would take to short out my implants would also cause my heart to explode so that's a moot point. My advice? Develop a big bugzapper and-" Rysis is cut off mid sentence as the ground shakes a little and you hear a drunken voice blaring outside.

"Rrrrrrrysis! I looooove you ssooooo muhc"

You go to the window and see a katana wielding mobile suit stumbling towards the HQ.

"Well it looks like Travis is here." Rysis says with a groan.

"Isn't driving a mobile suit while intoxicated illegal?" Romary asks.

"Honey, Travis himself might as well be illegal at this point." Rysis points out as the drunken pilot continues to stumble the suit closer and closer to the base...

(This is where we will end things. Thanks for participating guys! You are wonderful as always)

Sounds plausible. There has to be something there worth attacking. Maybe they found one of the old cryopods containing the EXA-DB development team. I don't know why, but I can't help but think that Reuna Inertia has something to do with this. She's supposed to be in stasis in SID's asteroid fortress, but things could be different in this timeline.

YESSSSS. I was wondering when he would show up. Oh, I am very happy about this. I've been wanting to talk to Travis for the past 32 threads. This will be fun. Once Travis sobers up, of course. Let's just get some food in him, put on an episode of Pure White Lover Bizarre Jelly for distraction, and make sure he just tells people he is the tiger instead of suplexing them.
>>
>>26553633
Maybe, though that'd probably mean that SID is on the moon as well.
Or we're about to run into Arthur, freshly awoken from his cryosleep.

See you next time, man. Fun as always.
