I twirl away quickly, twisting on my heel and drawing my hands into my chest to get out of the way of the swordstroke, then quickly unwind my body, turning the coiled power into a sudden lunge.

Unfortunately, she's just as fast, and she intercepts me at the wrist with her free arm's elbow, and when I go to grab there, she suddenly explodes her arm forward and slams her open palm into my face. The slap echoes and it hits hard enough to set my ears ringing, leaving me stumbling backwards and trying to get my bearings.

My usual wit's deserted me at this point. I charge at her, and she flicks her sword around into a proper grip, brings it down hard -

The clang echoes out across the park. The crowbar fits in my palm when it's collapsed, and it's thick enough that it blocked her without even getting chipped. While she's working out how I just blocked that with my bare hand, I duck my shoulder and shoot her legs, slam my shoulder into her stomach and bring her down. She lets her sword fall to one side, probably doesn't want to bring it into the grapple, but as I go to transition her knee whaps into my stomach, both winding me and stopping my advance. Just for the moment, we're stalemated.
