You are Christopher Phillips, previously just another teenage nerd living in a small English town, and a lot of things have changed in your life since you died.

Today is Tuesday, and you’ve got a busy day ahead of you. Ajani, Gloria and their club of amateur monster-hunters are expecting to meet you at lunch, and they’ll probably want an explanation regarding the werewolf you stopped them from killing on Saturday. You have to figure out what to do with the werewolf in question, also known as Zack Stewart, one of the stars of the school rugby team, a classmate of yours, and hopefully a good guy who can be given control of his life back. Hopefully.

Speaking of control, you also need to work out what to do about Miss White, your substitute History teacher, your best friend and metamour’s aunt, and... you’re not sure what else, but it might be problematic if Jill found out that she tried to seduce you last night. And you’re still supposed to be helping her out as a teaching assistant for several more weeks, which is going to require either a lot of self-control, or being very careful around Jill. (Avril, you suspect, will enthusiastically approve, but Jill had a much more sheltered upbringing compared to a princess of a Fae Court of fertility and growth).

You’ve made it to school with quite a bit of time to spare before your first lesson, if you want to have a quick chat with anyone.

[]Head straight to English, your first lesson of the day. You don’t want to be late to class again.
[]Find Zack and see how he’s doing. He must have had quite a shock on Saturday, and you should make sure he’s okay.
[]Go to Miss White’s office. You need to have a talk with her sooner or later, and you’ll be busy at lunch.
[]Jill and Avril will probably be together, but you might be able to talk to one of them alone for a little while.
[]Talk to someone else

We need to get Zack squared away before the meeting with the Hunters.

Undead zombies of people already dead is one thing; murdering the school star and a classmate is going to raise questions, and do they really think they can handle the heat that will come down on them.

You're not immediately sure where to find Zack - you check by the bike sheds where he was smoking a few weeks back, but there's no-one there, or in the P.E. changing rooms. Finally, when you look into the library on your way past it (on sheer force of habit), you spot Zack sitting at one of the tables, perusing one of the many occult tomes your school library seems to be unusually well-supplied with.

You slide into the seat opposite him, waving your hand over the book. Zack looks up, startled. "Oh, Chris. Hi. Sorry, I wasn't expecting anyone else to be in here this early. I'm trying to find out more about... you know. Werewolves." He whispers the last word, which is a little odd given that there's no-one else in the library.

"How's it been going so far?"

"Uh... not too well, I guess. I don't understand a lot of this stuff, and there's a lot of disagreement about how werewolves work and stuff. I still haven't found anything about a cure. I'm not even sure where to start - reading was never a big hobby of mine, you know?"

"I might know a few people who could help you out with that. How are you feeling, generally? You doing okay?"

Zack shakes his head. "Still trying to keep from freaking out all the time, really. It's a lot to handle... plus there's that girl. Sally. I can't stop thinking about her, wondering if maybe I could have done something, figured things out sooner, been able to stop myself... if I could have done something to save her." He looks up at you, and you can see bags under his eyes. "What do I do, Chris? It just haunts me. I can't even tell her family what really happened. Who the hell would believe me? Sometimes I wonder if I've just gone insane..."
>>
>>26735418
"Nah, it will just seem that way at first. It's best not to panic and try and relax. You've got some time before your next transformation in which time you can try and find a cure. If you think its stress related maybe you should get like a heart rate monitor."
>>
>>26735418
Well, you're not mad unless half the town is involved in a shared delusion so there's that. Zack look at my eyes though. I know what it's like to have regrets, learning how to deal with ourselves is just something we need to try and work through noone prepared us for this so we're muddling along as best we can.

Keep your head in the game and don't freak out. I'll try to help you because that's what friends do but this won't be easy. You also need to think about what you'll do if there is no cure, will you be able to control yourself?
>>
>>26735418

"You're not insane Zack, and you are not alone. You're not the only person who's something than just human in this town. Some of them also made...mistakes. All you can do now, is to never commit your mistake again."

Should we recruit him for our party? A werewolf would come in handy to fulfill Jill's quests.
>>
>>26735418
"Sally Chambers was a real tragedy, that's true. I honestly can't tell you how you should feel, Zack. But I'll help you as best I can. And as a word of warning, don't be in the Library during lunch. I was able to keep the Hunters from putting you down so far, but if you show up in front of them, I can't guarantee your safety.
"Avril and I are looking into possible solutions for you, but it's slow going."

He did murder a girl after all, and was about to murder another. Well, manslaughter since he was mentally incapacitated at the time.
>>
>>26735615
>A werewolf would come in handy to fulfill Jill's quests.
Only if he can control himself when he's changed, though. Otherwise he's just a liability.
>>
>>26735677
Ehhh what's a bit of manslaughter between freinds. We've done our bit of unpleasantness aswell don't forget. Still hoping he can learn to control it I'd rather not put him down. I'm not saying not too simply that I'd rather not.
>>
>>26735418
((Okay, writing.))
>>
>>26735747
"You're not insane, Zack, unless everyone else in town is too. And you're not the only person with regrets. As for cures... well, we've got some time before the next full moon to work on that. Avril and I are looking into some possibilities. In the mean time, just try and relax. Keep your head in the game, yeah?"

Zack nods. "Yeah, that's what coach always says, keep your head in the game. Put aside your worries until you've got space to deal with them properly. I don't know how long it'll be before I can really relax, though. I might just keep going through these books, seeing if I can find anything useful..."

"Uh, Zack, you remember those other people from Saturday? The ones who stabbed you?"

Zack nods. "I can't believe how fast that healed up. It's kind of freaky. All I've got now is a bit of a scar, and even that's starting to fade."

"Yeah, well... they'll probably be in the library at lunch time. You might want to keep out of their way. I'm still trying to convince them not to put you down, but if you show up in front of them, things might get tricky."

Zack nods. "Thanks for the heads-up, man. I'm not looking forward to trying to tangle with those guys again. I'll find somewhere else to be."

"One last thing, then I have to run to class... have you thought about what you'll do if there is no cure?"

Zack looks despondent. "I don't know. Pray? Run away and live in the wilderness, far away from anyone? If I slipped up even once and killed someone else... I don't think I could handle that. I'm haunted too much already. But you said you're still looking into cures, right?"

"Yeah, we are. It's just that... maybe you should think about that. Just in case."

You hurry off to your English classroom, just about arriving before the bell. James is casually reading his book, but he's left a space open next to him. Masami is sitting on her own at the back of the room, looking nervous but more cheerful than usual.

"Hey, Chris. So how are things going? You talked much to Ajani yet?"

"Yeah, but not so much about you. I'm still working on that, but more immediately, we need to talk about that werewolf."

James perks up. "You've got information on it? Excellent. That'll definitely get you an in with Ajani."

"More than just information. And it's not all good news. I ran into the werewolf on Saturday. So did Ajani and Gloria. I had to convince them not to kill him on the spot."

"Wait, what? You convinced them *not* to kill the murderous werewolf? What the hell is your angle here, Chris?" James stares at you curiously.

"I know who the werewolf is. And it's one of the people here at school, James. He's not a murderer, he's a kid who's not in control of himself. We can cure him, get him under control."

James blinks, then nods slowly. "Get him under control, have him do the heavy lifting in battle, take some heat off Ajani, then Ajani has more time to spend with me. Damn, Chris, you're smarter than you look."

"Somehow I don't think Ajani's just going to welcome a werewolf onto his team, you know."

James shrugs. "Just tell him the guy's a tormented hero struggling to control his darker urges or whatever. Ajani watches too many cheesy action movies, he'll eat that stuff up."

"Okay, but what about Gloria? She barely tolerates me, and she can't prove I'm anything dangerous."

James chuckles. "Gloria will back down if Ajani pushes the issue, I'm sure of it. She knows who the boss is."

English is finishing soon, and you need to hurry over to History to be there in time to help sort out today's worksheets. How are you planning to deal with Miss White when you get there?

The risk of Jill blowing up and going Carrie on us, or at least of losing our current relationship right now is too great.
Once we've firmly got Jill comfortable with our current arrangement, then we can move on to Miranda a little more openly.
Just because Chris keeps the flirting hidden from Jill, doesn't mean that Miranda will as well.
>>
>>26737025
Those are mutually exclusive, though, since carrying on flirting on school grounds isn't keeping it professional on school grounds.

We refused Isabella at her party and kept Avril away from her clutches.
We beat the shit out of Jason and kept him from getting our blood, which his boss wanted and presumably still wants.
The Corruptor wants us because we're a curiosity.
The Ice King knows that we're a member of the group that's been pissing him off by destroying his husks.

Not really paranoia when we HAVE done shit to piss people off, or have you forgotten all of these events?

Yes, I knew that. I didn't think it relevant to the point, however, which is that both Jason and the Corruptor have their own personal reasons to want harm on us.

Jason wishes us harm because that's what his boss wants, AND because we beat the shit out of him.
His boss, the Corruptor, just wants to vivisect us because we're of interest to it.
>>

>>
>>26737596
>>26737681
And aside from Jason, you really think the ice king, corrupter, and Isabella's prime directive is "kill Chris"?
>>
>>26737757
Well, with the Corruptor, it is. It wants to vivisect us to see what makes us tick.

With Isabella it won't be "kill Chris" but "make Chris' life miserable so he comes crawling to me for a favor". She's just waiting for our Biology project to be handed in before she makes her move.

We've got very little on the Ice King, if he has any living minions or not. I'll admit he's more of a general hazard than a specific threat simply because he's fighting the group we've associated with.

So we have two that are specifically after us and want to end us, one that will end us because we're simply an obstacle, and the last will try to make us miserable rather than kill us, for now.
>>
>>26737417
You make sure that you're in the History classroom nice and early. Miranda - Miss White - is the only one there, setting up some diagrams on the blackboard. When she turns and sees that you've come in, she smiles, then turns back to the blackboard and drops her chalk in an exaggerated fashion. She bends over at the waist to pick it up, her skirt riding up her ass and showing off her lacy, white, crotchless underwear.

Once she's done, she smoothes her skirt down again and picks up a sheaf of papers from her desk. "Just thought I'd answer that one straight away today," she grins. "Did you like what you saw?"

"Absolutely," you reply. "Did you wear those for me, Miranda?"

She wags her finger at you. "Tut, tut, Chris. It's Miss White to you at the moment. When we're in school, I'm in charge."

You raise an eyebrow. "And outside of school?"

"Well, that depends on you, doesn't it?"

You take the stack of worksheets from her, stroking Miss White's fingers with your own. Your other hand reaches over to the desk for a stapler, brushing across the small of her back and making her shudder slightly. Miss White turns to her desk, which happens to put her with her back resting against your chest and her ass pressed into your groin. She rubs against the hard bulge in your trousers a few times, smiling back at you over her shoulder, then pulls away and takes her seat. As the first students start to come in, she nods to the worksheets in your hand, and says "Remember, we'll need to sort out more lesson plans and worksheets. I have Mr Miller's notes, but I still need to be sure my lessons match up with what he's been doing. Come and see me whenever you're available. My door is always open to you." She smiles knowingly.

You make sure there's a sheet on every desk, then take your usual seat next to Jill, who comes in a little late. There's a small grass stain on her knee.

"Hi Chris," she says. "Oh, these are some nice worksheets. How's working with Miss White going?"

"It's been sexy. I think she's one of those kinds of teachers.

So, how's it been with Avril?"
>>
>>26738224
Maybe, but there's still the chance that Miranda will let Jill know about our activities, and that would be bad if Jill isn't comfortable with poly-amorous relationships yet.

I think encouraging Jill to hang out with her aunt should wait until 1. we make it clear to Miranda that what we do with each other needs to be kept from Jill until she's ready, and 2. we figure out a way to make sure that Jill hanging out with her aunt doesn't get back to her mother. Can you imagine what that fundie bitch would do to Jill if she found out?
And I don't mean physical abuse, at least, not right away. But she would have the legal right to pull Jill from school, and possibly move, and Jill would have no legal recourse.

>but Miranda is coming on too strong for our comfort right now
Actually, now that I think about it, we should try to engineer a chance for Avril to meet with, and possibly shake hands with, Miranda.
Avril should be able to tell us if Miranda is supernatural or tainted somehow, and what she is. It would let us better defend ourselves if Miranda turns hostile, and it would also let us broach the subject of a relationship between us, Avril, and Miranda to Avril.
>>
>>26738389
"It's been going very well. We've got Mr Miller's notes sorted, so we're making progress, but we've still got a lot of work to do."

You glance down at the grass stain on Jill's knee. "So, how's Avril today?"

Jill blinks, glances down at her knee, then blushes a little. "Oh, uh. She's good. Very good. Has that been there all morning?"

"I guess so."

Jill still looks a little flushed. "Anyway, I'm going to see her again tonight. We're trying to take it slow... well, I'm trying to take it slow. Avril can be..." She glances down at her knee again, smiling. "Enthusiastic."

You grin back at her. "Sounds like the two of you are having a lot of fun."

"No... well, yes, but... Maybe." She blushes again. "I'm just kind of nervous still. Plus we never seem to get a nice relaxing weekend without something happening."

"Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. Oh, speaking of the weekend, did I mention that I think I have a lead on that Winter King thing? I... oh, right, the worksheet. Later, I guess." Miss White is wagging her finger in your direction again, although her smile takes a lot of the reprimand out of it.

Jill smiles, getting down to work as well. "I still need to talk to Miss White about my family stuff. Do you think she'll be free this lunchtime?"

"Yeah, she should be. I'll probably be busy with some other stuff, though - you're fine seeing her on your own?"

"Now that I know she's not some evil soul-eating monster, yeah, I'll be fine. But thanks for worrying about me." Jill smiles at you, then turns back to her work.

Miss White seems to be keeping things clean and professional while Jill's around, and the worksheet is quite interesting. You finish early and help gather up everyone else's sheets for marking.

Ajani, Gloria and Louie are already waiting in the library when you arrive. Gloria starts to say something, but Ajani shushes her and asks you to wait until everyone's arrived. James and Esther aren't far behind you, and everyone settles into a seat, with Ajani standing at one end of the table.

Ajani clears his throat, and everyone turns to him attentively. "The first thing on our agenda today is the matter of the animal attacks," he says. "We had a combat encounter on Saturday night. The culprit is identified as a werewolf, which poses certain... concerns. Chris, you had something to share with us about this, didn't you?" He frowns at you.

You take a deep breath, rising to your feet and looking over the group. "This werewolf isn't some cold-blooded killer. He's a student. He doesn't have any control over his changes, or his actions when he's a wolf. We need to help him, not kill him."

Gloria scoffs. "Whether he's acting with malice or not, he's a dangerous killer. The only solution is to stop him before he kills again - which we could have done on Saturday if someone hadn't interfered." She glares at you.

James pipes up, "Surely if he's not in control of himself, we have a duty to help him? That's the heroic thing to do here."

Esther frowns. "I'm going to have to side with Gloria here. A werewolf is an extremely dangerous threat. And we have no idea how to go about curing or restraining him."

"Oh, there's a cure for being a werewolf," Gloria replies. "Cut off the head and burn the body to ash."

Louie looks nauseous at the thought. "Do we have to kill him? I mean, isn't he a... person?"

Ajani frowns. "I... don't know. On the one hand, he has killed. He could kill again. On the other hand, if he's not in control of his actions..."

He turns to you. "Chris, is there anything more you want to say to us on this? I know you're new to the team, but you obviously know more about this case than the rest of us."

The person afflicted is Zack. Y'know the star rugby player? how many of you are willing to kill someone you've known all this time? Gloria he's dangerous yes but can you really blame someone for actions they comitted when they weren't aware of? I mean I've spoken with Zack and he desperately wants to either cure him self or gain control of his otherside. Besides had I let you k8ill him how were you going to hide the murder of a fellow student?

He only found out what he was doing last weekend before then he thought they were just dreams and now if a cures not found he's likely to either take his own life or become a hermit. He knows what he did and, well it haunts him.

Anyway why not try to help him and get him to help us? Another front liner is always useful. If there's no cure found I'm happy to volunteer to watch over him next time he's liable to change.

(Hopefully that gives enough options to answer any questions they're going to ask it's hard to write a response without being able to write it out as a conversation.)

"Listen... They are a strong person. I know that with a little guidance and help, they can learn to control themselves. Right now they are confused and distraught, but someday they will remember that we showed them kindness, and they will repay it."

Lets not tell them Zacks name or sex yet.

"I've been looking for the werewolf since he attacked my sister weeks ago. I've had a bit of a head start over you guys, you might say. I've actually spoken to him, and he's been extremely cooperative. He's as much invested in finding a cure to his condition as I am- as we should be. I think knowing what he's done, even unknowingly, is eating at him, and if he has that much conscience I can't in good conscience condone killing him.

What's more, now he knows that he's a werewolf. He's not going to be caught out in the open on the full moon again- I'll chain him up myself, if I have to, but I think he'd be more than willing to do it without our help. He doesn't want to hurt anybody else. I think the transformation may also be triggered by stress- I'd like to look into getting him a heart-rate monitor, so he can watch himself. These measures should be enough to significantly reduce the risk of an attack, allowing us time to research a cure or a means for him to remain in control after transformation.

I know some of you [significant look at Gloria] may find this hard to take in, but if I have your solemn vow not to hurt him without consensus, I'd like to introduce you all to him, so you can see what I say is true for yourself."

God, I sound like I'm making a presentation to a board of directors.

"Yeah, I've had a bit of a head start on this one - the werewolf attacked my sister nearly two weeks ago. So I have as much reason as any of you to want his head, but I've spoken to him instead.

He's desperately invested in finding a cure or a way to control himself - as invested as we should be. He knows what he's done and it haunts him. He has a conscience, he's a human being just like any of... well, just like most of you.

Now that he knows he's a werewolf, there are precautions we can take. He can be chained up on the nights of the full moon. It seems like the transformation might be stress-related too, so I'd like to get him a heart-rate monitor so that he can watch himself.

Anyway, why not try to help him? One day he'll remember that we showed him kindness and human decency, and he'll repay it.

I know some of you might find this hard to believe, so if you'll promise not to hurt him without consensus, I'd like to introduce you all to him, so you can see for yourself."

By the end of your speech, Ajani is nodding along. "Thank you, Chris. I don't know about introducing him to the group - we do still have to worry about security - but I'd like to meet him personally."

"As would I," adds Gloria. "To see for myself, just as you said."

Ajani frowns at her, but turns back to you. "Anyway. We'll put off further offensive action against this werewolf until we can evaluate him. On to other matters..."

Ajani spends a half-hour or so talking with Louie and James about various things they've turned up in their books. Apparently the Winter King of Husks has been operating in various different areas for a long, long time. He's been banished now and then, but the books are maddeningly unclear about how.

You arrive a little early to Maths, grabbing a table for Jill and Avril, who sit next to each other holding hands and occasionally grinning. They're too distracted to start much of a conversation on their own. Is there anything you'd like to ask them?
>>
>>26740486
"How did the talk with your aunt go Jill?"
>>
>>26740486
"I got those Hunters to at least agree to hear Zack out. So Jill, how'd your meeting with your aunt go? With the way you two are, seems it went well."
>>

Sounds good.

"Hey now, you're getting me jealous."

Chris needs to spend more time with Jill. The events of that vision aren't completely averted yet and Jill is spending too much time with Avril, she needs to like Chris more!
>>
>>26740634
While I agree with you, I don't think appearing jealous is a good approach. We should just ask her out for another date- the theatre went swimmingly, last time.
>>
>>26740673
Indeed, just ask them on a date. Just be like:
"Yo Jill, wanna go look in that bookstore up town sometime?"
Then once we have that we can extend it to going for coffee.

You lean over and ask "So Jill, how did your talk with your aunt go? It seems like it went well enough, given the way you two keep grinning."

"Huh? Oh, um, that's not about my meeting with Miss White, sorry. We were just... looking forward to our date tonight." Jill blushes, while Avril just grins at you and quietly licks her lips.

"Um, anyway. It went pretty well, yeah. I... learned some interesting things about what my mother and father used to be like. And I think maybe my aunt knows about the... things I can do. She didn't want to talk much about it at school, but she hinted at stuff. Maybe she can show me more ways to control it or use it, make me a more effective, uh, bodyguard..."

Avril smiles and squeezes Jill's hand. "I think you're pretty effective already, darling. But if you think it'll help, sure."

"Thanks, but I can't really do much more than throw things around right now. Telekinetic superheroes in comics can do all sorts of cool things I'd love to be able to do. And Miss White... uh, Miranda... she said she could tell me all sorts of other stories about my family. That'd be nice."

You reach out and take Jill's other hand. "By the way, would you like to go to that book store in town some time?"

"Sure, I'd like that, Chris. Tomorrow night, maybe."

You smile, clutching her hand. "It's a date, then."

Jill blushes a bit, but Avril just chuckles. "Nice work, Chris. Go on, Jill, it won't hurt to give it a go. You know I don't mind at all, and it could be fun."

"I... okay. I'll try, anyway." Jill still looks unsettled, but she hasn't let go of your hand, or Avril's.

You wave Jill and Avril off as they head off into town together, and then turn to head home, when you spot Miss White just coming out of the school building. She waves to you and walks over. "Hey, Chris. Are you free this evening? I'm not doing anything, and I thought maybe we could pick up where we left off."
>>
>>26741431
Normally I'm all for caution but why not? Go with Miranda.
>>
>>26741431
I dont know whether to walk away.... Or meet her tonight, tie her up, spank her ass and make her count, and then walk away....

I suppose.... yes. "I'd love to Miranda, but don't think I'll be going easy... I'll show you exactly what your teasing has bought for you."
>>
>>26741431
"Wouldn't miss it, not after the little lesson you earned yourself today in class... You should know that you cant expect to be in charge anywhere outside of the class Miranda."
>>
>>26741431
"I'd be happy to. We still have those worksheets to go over, right?"

Are there still people around? We need to keep up appearances until we're safely inside her house.
>>
>>26741431
((Oops, apparently my other post didn't go through, sorry. This is it for tonight - I need to be up in less than 5 hours and I still have a lot to do before I go to bed. Next thread will be on Thursday. Thank you all for participating.))

See you on Thursday, MH.

Thanks for runnin' see ya.

When do you suppose we will be do for an upgrade next?

I think we should choose
<Stronger, Faster, Bigger.
>>
>>26742108
Shouldn't we play to our strengths and be better at manipulation and persuasion?
The whole reason for trying so hard to keep Zack alive and on our side is because he's going to be a much better meat shield than we could hope to be.
>>
>>26742275
I think we already selected all of the persuasion perks once. Are we allowed to double up?
>>
>>26742717
Furthermore, would it make sense to do so?
