You are Yuri Ivanov, a Corporal in the Tesenturian Reserve Corp and well….shit happened to you, after partying with some comrades in celebration for a series of peace treaties and creation of a lasting stable government. Meaning that for the first time in its history will ensure that the neighboring countries will cease hostiles and that the government itself will ensure that it will keep together and not fall from the various factions that once plagued the old one thus ensuring a long awaited peace.

Or at least it should have after being enlisted on a patrol along with several new recruits by your closest friend and now superior Sergeant Maya Salko which took you on the outskirts of the city in which you were ambushed by remnants of an old faction. After a couple of skirmishes with the enemy which left your forces with a few wounded, one dead, and you almost dying by the end of a knife but otherwise the battle was a success. However a strange bright light suddenly envelops the both of you in which you managed save her by pushing her out of the way.

Next thing you know you wake up in a land which you had not spend maybe an hour in, in which you were looked upon as some strange being, been blown up, kissed by some little girl, been branded like cattle, saw flying children, kind of threatened by some older man, and was left to care for said little girl who had kissed you and displaying some sort of spoiled princess routine in which you had to escort her to the Tristain School of Magic.

Yeah magic….

Once entering the campus you immediately heard towards Colbert in which you question him about the whole Familiar and Contract you were forced upon by the girl and finding out that you are a strange oddity of being possibly the first human familiar to be summoned. After having this enlightening discussion you returned to Miss Valliere’s dorm to sleep and hopefully think it is some all liquor induced dream.
>>
>>26761195

Unfortunately that was not so and you awoke just as you fell asleep in alive in a strange new country you have never heard of. So taking the time to memorize your surroundings and returned to find a blue dragon with a taste for military rations. Once meeting with Louise to join for breakfast (and sneaking off with some leftovers) you joined her in class and figured out why she was called ‘Zero’ after the destruction with the classroom. Deciding to help her clean up and giving some advice and theories as a combat engineer you head towards the library and find Colbert for answers both which yield no results.

Feeling frustrated at this you ended up bumping into a maid named Siesta who was pushing a heavy cart full of lunches, desserts, and other food stuffs. You then decided to help her out while listening to gossip and sneaking in some of the food you were carrying. Once reaching the courtyard and having a relaxing time handing out food until you passed by a group of rowdy boys in which supposedly the leader of the group accidentally dropped a vial in front of your feet.

You picked it up and examining its contents it seems to be a perfume probably from or for his girlfriend or something judging by what you can understand from their conversation. Well it might be a problem if he loses it or something so you probably think it will be best to return it to him.

You give a sigh as you walk towards the blond showoff grabbed his arm that was not holding the rose and placed viral into his opened palm.

“Hey, Guiche is it? You dropped this.” You said to him with a small grin on your face and in turn give you a shocked expression. “Best be careful next time or you might have lost this.”

So having done your good deed of the day you’re about to go back and help Siesta but the boys around the blond suddenly surged with excitement.

"Ooh? That perfume, isn't that Montmorency's?"
>>
>>26761244

"They’re misunderstanding. Katie, listen. The only person I hold in my heart is you... " He tries to defend himself as he tries to get closer to her.

She slaps him on the other cheek.

"That perfume you dropped from your pocket is more than enough proof! Goodbye!"

She then proceeds to leave just when another girl having long blond ringlet curls and freckles comes walking in.

Sorry,Something happened.

>>26762591

Normally, you don’t take pleasure in something like this but then again you never personally witnessed something like this to begin with other then hearing a few of your comrades boast their escapades (and more often of their less successful ones). So you decided to take a seat and mentally countdown the incoming physical abuse.

"Montmorency. This is a misunderstanding. All I did was accompanying her on a long trip to the forests of La Rochelle..." Guiche said, shaking his head. While he was pretending to remain composed, a drop of cold sweat ran down his forehead.

3.

"Just as I thought! You've been making moves on that first year, haven't you?!"

2.

"Please, Montmorency the Fragrance. Don't twist your rose-like face in anger like that. It saddens me to see it!"

1.

You were expecting a slap like that other girl did but exceeding your expectations she snatches the same vial out of his hand in which you has placed it moments earlier and then proceeded to poor it violently on his head.

“You liar.” She declares before tossing the vial and promptly walked out leaving the area stunned in silence. However even surpassing your expectations more so was Guiche who pulled out a handkerchief and slowly wipe his head while declaring. “It would seem those ladies do not understand the meaning of a rose's existence."

He bounces up fast you give him that.

What do you say or do?
>>
>>26763729
"It would seem more that you don't understand ladies, Guiche."
>>
>>26763729
Face palm and shake head. Then ask Siesta if this is common for this kid.
>>
>>26763729
So we either say something to Guiche or comment him or Siesta?

Which one?
>>
>>26764066
I guess Siesta, say it without Guiche over hearing and getting offended, we got things to do and offending nobles is a good way to waste time
>>
>>26763729

You slap your palm on your face and sighed looking towards the maid who was not so far from you when witnessing this event. Her expression looking that she was holding back her amusement.

“Hey Siesta, is this common for this kid?” You asked a little amazed at how the kid can still talk in such flowery language despite the fact she’s being laughed at by his peers.

“His way of speaking or his womanizing?” She asks back.

“Both.” You mumbled back.

“Well for the most part it is but then again he is part of the youngest son of the Gramont family who are unofficially known for this type of thing.” She explains in which you can only dimly nod having a hard time imagining such a family.

However deciding that you can spend your energy to something more productive you decided to finish up and meet Louise.

“Stop right there!” You briefly turn to see the blond haired wanna-be playboy pointing dramatically at you with his rose.

You did a look over of the blond from head to toe taking note of his flowing blond hair, his exposed sculpted chest that screams narcissist, and his purple pants which you are mildly surprised they made that color in men’s sizes before responding back.

“Sorry blondie, you’re not my type.” You gave him a dull but easy going stare and a lop-sided grin. “Not to mention I don’t like being the rebound-girl those situations get kind of messy really quick.”

This earned another bout of laughter and teasing from the onlookers even Siesta who tries to hide earlier now laughs behind an open palm as the blonde’s face suddenly turns red with flustered.

“Y-you heathen! How dare you commoner addressing a noble such as I like that and sully the honor of those poor girls.”

“Sullied? Listen kid I think you did plenty of damage before I even showed.” You gave the blonde a flat stare.

“Hoho, not so.” He replied trying to regain some of his wit as he twirled the rose in his right hand and posed. “If you hadn't butted in and handed me that vial then all would have been well, you as a commoner should have kept your own business to yourself and moved on.”

Now you really stared at him wondering how does that logic even work and more so what is going on in that kid’s brain to come up with such a thing.

Then you suddenly realize you don’t really care.

“Whatever kid.” You sighed as you turn away from him and gave a wave. “Unlike your suddenly free bachelor schedule I have an appointment with a pink pint-sized powder keg and a magical blue dragon to feed so I have to pencil you in another time.”

You begin walking before you hear him letting out a condescending laugh.
>>
>>26766424

Oh of course, now I recognize you.” He said with some sort of realization. “Your that commoner summoned by ‘Louise the Zero’ as expected of her to bring such a nosy heathen to this place, like the old saying goes ‘Like Master like familiar afterall.’”

You hear a few laughs from the other noble kids at that comment as once more you stop to turn to him and see him sighing and motioning his hand in a wave like gesture while the other one plays with his locks. “To think I Guiche de Gramont got a little riled up from a familiar even more so by one summoned by that ‘Zero’. How embarrassing of me, you have my permission to leave.”

Your brow twitches slightly at the Blondie who is dismissing you like that because of being summoned by that pink haired half-pint. Then a brief image of a scene earlier today of that same half-pint covered in soot grabbing you and asking you for some other worldly advice on how to do magic when you yourself only found out about this over twenty-four hours ago.

You take a deep breath and exhale.

Do..you really care enough?

You sighed as you gave the Blondie a glare similar to that of your old drill instructor who dealt with the more ‘uppity’ recruits back in the day.

You guess you do care enough.

"Like Master like familiar you say?” Repeating his quote before giving a sarcastic smile at the blond. “Then I'm extremely glad I didn't get summoned by you. I'd hate being a narcissistic idiot who worships his own reflection and uses his family name to hide the fact that he has done nothing of worth in his life. At least Louise is interesting, you're just boring.”

What you said might have hit a poor spot for this kid as he flushed red in anger and gripping his rose tightly thinking that he might cut himself with the thorns. Thinking back the kid also showed similar signs on how she valued her noble pride and tries to show some effort and prove that she is one considering her inability to form spells normally and in constant ridicule. In contrast considering these kids and this environment they’d had done nothing really of note to show for it.

This really hit a sore spot for the blond who is now glaring at you in turn now. “It seems the commoner needs to learn some manners and out of my generous heart I will teach you such etiquette.”

He makes what seems to be a dramatic pose by taking a step forward and making a ‘whoosing’ motion of is cape and pointed at you. “and I cannot think of a better teaching method then a duel we shall meet at Vestri Court, come prepare yourself and meet me there.”

He walks away with his posse who seems excited to see a fight and turn to Siesta who begins to look at you with worry with tears in her eyes as her body shakes.

“Yuri!” Before what you can ask what's wrong you heard your name and turned to see the kid her face pale and breathing erratic. “Wha-what have you done?”

I could have just killed you. Your pretty face would have a hole right through it.

Don't duel me, I'd rather not kill you."

Intimidation means he loses more face and we don't get bitched at for breaking his face or shooting him in the leg.

“The world a favor.” You replied coolly thinking on his attitude that no one person should have so much ego and get away with it. Considering your country are always the humble reminders of your neighbors that you can’t get too high off your military force before realizing that it doesn't mean shit if you can’t win.

It’s same concept just on a more high school brawl level.

“I’m not joking you can’t just pick a fight with a noble!.” She yells back though not with her usual intensity or explosiveness. “If you’re not careful you’ll get seriously hurt even killed!.”

“First of all I did not pick a fight all I did was tried to give his girlfriend’s perfume back to him but it kind of backfired.” You explained to her before motioning to yourself and skimming the details. “And due to the way the conversation went he challenged me.”

You shrugged before being grabbed by the arms by both Louise and Siesta who look worried.

“Why are you so concerned?” You asked a little curious. “He probably hasn't had a serious fight in his life, I have been a soldier for a good portion of my life. I'm not really worried.”

Of course you won’t let your guard down against him and you learn from your country’s enemies of what an overconfident foe falls. However considering his ego has to be supported by something other than hot air, which you theorize it’s probably his magic. So you’ll be facing in battle against a magic user for the first time.

Not counting the one where Louise contracted you if it can be called that.

“You should be, you idiot.” Louise responded back. “Even if you are a soldier no commoner has ever defeated a noble in one on one combat! Not to mention Guiche despite being a womanizer is the youngest son of family who devote themselves in military affairs of the Tristain Military.”

Military affairs? So is that the reason why he’s was so confident before or at least one of them.
>>
>>26767735

Your eyes narrow carrying a cold feeling and you feel a sense of strange calmness inside you not unlike that of the patrol of yesterday in which was an ambush and a sudden skirmish.
This was a look of one wanting to know everything and prepping themselves for an offensive. You place your hand on kid’s shoulders who now looks at you with a slightly frightened look alongside Siesta who seems to be shaking at the sight of you now.

“Miss Valliere, if you want to ensure of my victory then I will need to know everything about the enemy before me.” You said steel within your voice cold yet carrying weight waiting for the briefing from a superior officer before being sent into the line of fire. “I need to know of his combat capabilities, weaknesses, and any medical treatment in which he can use.”
Though stunned by your expression now she nodded and agreed to tell you everything she knows without about him. He is a Dot mage and from what you can remember which is the weakest level but he specializes in earth mage in practically turning them to Bronze Golems he call Bronze Valkyries to do battle. As for medical treatment she mentions that water mages have the capability as healers but depending on how serious the injury is will require a higher level mage in turn. There are potions and such but will require lots of money and doubt he’ll carry on his person considering who he’s fighting against. Finally weakness while you can tell at first glance he’s a wuss who may not be able to take on a cadet back home but with the magic may prove to be a problem so in order to remove the obstacle you take out the conduct of the power.

The wand, the kid explains to you that by gathering ‘willpower’ and using their ‘wand’ they are able to cast their spells so you can take out any one of those two essentially victory is assured.
>>
>>26767713

Knowing how to handle a sword =/= knowing how to fight.

My bet is on the military man with a mere stick but who has been fighting for 5 years , not on the blueblood fop with a nice sword but who has probably never seen violence up close and personal at all...
>>
>>26767743

By this time the kids who were picnicking left to probably go join Guiche while Siesta left having left because she couldn't bare you facing these odd once hearing Guiche’s golems leaving you and the kid. You decided to take the time to examine your weapons once more before asking the kid. “Are these types of duels to the death, first blood, surrender?”

“I don’t know.” She shakes her head while looking over your shoulder curious on what you’re doing. “Normally, it’s decided before the match but these fights were banned due to them fighting towards….”

Her eyes widen as if having some realization.

“That’s it! Duels are forbidden now! So if we go over now and apologize then we can clear this misunderstanding.”

>>
>>26768657
Yea, but we also don't want to make it seem like we're hiding behind the fact that we've got a special gun or else everyone just thinks we're weak without it.

They know what a rifle is, they think as long as they dodge the first shot, they're golden.
However, if we just bludgeon him without firing a single shot, we prove that we're strong enough to kill a mage if we want to without being serious.

This will make them crap their pants.
The concept of guys existing that can beat up nobles with brute force is one thing, the fact that they're also carrying firearms creates a whole new level of terror.
>>
>>26768870
But who has time for this shit?
Let's just shoot the guy and go eat his dessert.

It doesn't matter if they think we need the gun. We have shown that we ain't nuthin' to fuck with.
>>
>>26768911
Also we haven't really seen much magic except for the explosion of Louise's.
Taking risks is stupid as fuck.
>>
>>26768911
He is not a sociopath.
He wouldn't just go killing kids for being annoying.

Yuri is a disciplined soldier and a war veteran, he wouldn't just open fire on civilians for a petty argument, he is not a fanatic fighting for a totalitarian regime, he is a soldier who fought to form a stable democracy.

It wouldn't fit his backstory.
Especially since in military they teach you to conserve ammunition.
>>
>>26769172
He's been a soldier since his teenager years and he's just been taken hostage by a society of mages.
This provocation is the best way for him to snap.
Also, we want to remove his kneecaps, which can be healed, not his brain. (Granted, shooting kneecaps isn't as easy as going for center mass, but the moron wouldn't know what we are doing, anyway)
>>
I just realized we have a demo pack and two types of grenades. We could probably think of a plan involving them but we are trying to save supplies.
Just pointing out some options.

Maybe use the smoke grenade to cover ourselves while we charge. Smoke grenades are easily replaceable with substitutes.
>>
>>26769209
I still think we should only shoot him if we're having problems.

Shooting a guy leaves a bad taste in everybody's mouth.
However, if we just beat everloving shit out of him, there's no excuse for him losing with him having advantage of magic and us holding back.

This will make us a living legend and will allow us to make contacts more easily, which potentially could help us to escape should we want to do it.
>>
>>26769435
I second the smoke grenade idea.
Makeshift smokes are relatively easy to make.

This will also make a nice spectacle when we emerge from the smoke victorious.
>>
Unless we can convince him that we, as the challenged, have the right to choose weapons (in which case I say we go with fists) I say we assume the angry child with magic is dangerous and go for the kneeshot.
>>
>>26769486
We are a soldier.
You don't engage a duel with a soldier. Especially not a lop-sided duel where you believe yourself to be superior due to your magic.
The best thing to do is to pop his kneecaps and walk away. He will be healed and no one will fuck with us anymore.

>>26769515
How about establishing supply relations before using our scarcest ressources?
>>
>>26769517
Yes, we definitely need to talk first.
Just ask him what the rules are.
>>
>>26769527
So,
>First blood, maiming, or death?
>Since he chose the location, do we choose weapons?
>Any outlawed tactics?
>Available medical facilities

We're going to want to win this quickly and with little subterfuge if we want to gain respect/fear from these brats.
>>
>>26769736
Yeah, talk the rules through in a clean manner. We need to show that we are business incarnate - You want to duel? Then tell us HOW you want to duel so that we can adjust how much we need to maim you.
>>
>>26769772
Yes, we need to make sure we're in control of the situation and not make assumptions.

I say we go to the place of duel and talk out the terms of the duel before accepting. If we get no say in the terms of duel, we refuse it outright, claiming that only an idiot would let his enemy dictate the terms of battle.

If he spontaneously attacks us saying something like "enough talk" we shoot the arm he uses to cast or bash him in the face depending the distance.

This little kid….

You sigh as you grab her by the scruff of her neck like a cat realizing how light she is as you lifted her a few inches off the floor.

How in the hell could she be sixteen? A growth deficiency?

“Wha-What do you think you’re doing!” She yelled as she struggles from grip before your hardened glare silence her.

"We. Do. Not. Apologize!” You stated simply and coldly as you force the kid to look you in the eye, “If you want people to ever stop teasing you and take you somewhat seriously, then you must stop rolling over the moment they start pushing!"

You drop her with a small thump as you begin to pack up but not before giving her a smile to break to overly serious mood that you had when questioning her. “Besides what do we have to apologize for in the first place? For giving him back his girlfriend's perfume, which I had no way of knowing, and practically shooting himself in the foot by cheating on his girlfriend? For being a self-absorbed twit? Hah! Sorry, but no. Besides, I highly doubt he'd just let me off like that anyway."

If we leave this unresolved it will only get worse if not towards you but the half-pint as well so it’s best to nip this in the bud.

You walk forward ready for battle and then stop after realizing one important detail as you turn to the pink haired half-pint.

“Where is Vestri Court?”

You have never seen someone trip over thin air before and you found it hilarious.

After the kid guided you to where Vestri Court is you realized that it may not been needed. A somewhat large crowed of nobles and a few of the help had gathered probably through word of mouth that a fight was about to happen.
That meant you are restricted to solely melee combat.

Once you get passed the crowd and into the center you see the blond again doing some type of pose.
>>
>>26771539

“Ah, you’re here I thought you’ll do the smart thing and run away.” He says as he flicks the locks of his hair. “However I shall commend you for not doing so though the outcome will be obvious.”

“Yeah about the…” You began to say but were interrupted by the blond.

“You wish to back out; totally understandable as a commoner you must have realized the difference between the two of us.”

“No, I’m not backing out.” You denied his claim as you take off your pack and hand it toward the half-pint while warning her not to ‘touch’ anything inside. “Just wondering on the conditions of the duel since I heard that they are banned in this country so is this first blood or when one surrenders and are we fighting with weapons or just our fists?”

His eyes widens in surprise probably due to that you’re not backing down and casually asking on the method of the duel however he quickly covers it up before making another exaggerated gesture and posture. “I see of course a commoner will be scared and I must teach you a lesson so until you yield and submit to me then this duel will be concluded.”

“So submission then.” You stated simply before moving on to the next issue. “Weapons or hand to hand?”

“Please fighting with our fists? How barbaric.” He said scoffing at the idea. “I’ll be using what is natural to all mages.”

With a swipe of his rose a bronze set of armor arose from the ground equipped with a spear and in battle position.

So this is a golem…

“You can use that pathetic stick of yours to fight but know that if you do I will not go easy.” He declares as he points at you.

So what do you say or do?

>Stick to your fists study the combat capability of the golem.

>Attach the Bayonet, quick and fast

I suggest keeping this as a "last option" in case things go bad.

Affixing bayonet would give us the same reach as the golem's lance, but we don't want to fight the golem, we want to beat the stupid out of him.

I'd personally simply shoulder the gun, dodge the golem, knee him in the guts, remove his rose, and then draw the bayonet and let him have a close look at the edge while calmly describing every painful thing we could do to him with said sharp implement, ending with the fair warning it's exactly what we will do if he ever crosses us again after he pissed himself in fright!

Yes this might be a bit sadistic, but goddamn, we have a lot of frustration to work out on a target conveniently stupid enough to expose itself!

“So you choose to fight with a weapon of your own very well.” He said while point his rose at you. “Charge my Valkyrie!”

“What is this?"

“I can’t see!”

Through fist, elbow or bludgeoning, it doesn't really matter.

Afterwards we could give everybody around a good talk about why you don't pick a fight with a war-veteran who has spent quarter of his life in the killing fields.
>>
>>26775022
I would beg to differ, but I still kind of enjoy the quest in a weird way.
Maybe it's just the basic fact that it's a Zero no Tsukaima crossover. I love those, despite them all sucking.

>Afterwards we could give everybody around a good talk about why you don't pick a fight with a war-veteran who has spent quarter of his life in the killing fields.
Why the fuck does everyone one to be a melodramatic ass?
We are a battle-hardened soldier. Speeches are for insecure people. People who KNOW that they can kill you generally give no fuck about proving anything. They are intimidating just by being there.
I'm for a non-violent takedown because it shows that we are disciplined and don't need to lower ourselves to the level of a shitty brat.
It's either that or busting his kneecaps with a pistol, which we didn't do.
>>
>>26775840

Ah, you misunderstand, I'm not big on giving a lengthy speech. More a good one-liner in the likes of "Next one who crosses me gets it even worse!" and then let the sorry state of Guiche speak for us...
>>
>>26775840
well we kinda accepted the duel to show were not to be pushed around.
>>
>>26776166
Yes, but we did so in a professional fashion.
Why would we suddenly do anything messy?
>>
>>26776178
I saw it more as an educational 'don't do stupid things' speech rather than 'don't mess with me'
>>
>>26776178
We just need a good one-liner is i'm saying
>>
>>26776224
Well, either way:
We are an adult in a world where duels are outlawed and we are of lower social standing.
It's our duty to end this duell in a way that proves that there has never been any danger for the boy. It means that we won't get shat at for agreeing to the duel and people can still see that we could've easily snapped this guy's neck without even needing a weapon.

>>26776262
We just ask him if he submits once he starts shaking.
>>
>>26776302
Well, I'm going to bed.
Please play the responsible adult. There is no point in a dick measuring contest when you are amongst teenagers. It's far better to earn their respect by being responsible.

So from the description OP gave it seems like Tesenturia is one of the small countries in the neighborhood of the Black and Caspian seas, most likely in between them. Honestly it seems like the area around the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is perfectly situated as OP describes it. Assuming no greater deviance to the timeline other than the formation of Tesenturia the timeline in my mind goes something like this
Pre-WW1: The area that will be known as Tessenturia is under control of the Ottoman Empire
Post:WW1: The Tesenturian territory falls under the control of the Republic of Armenia for roughly 30 years until it broke free during the reconstruction period following WWII.
Cold War: Tesenturia would become another point for the cold war to take place as the US and USSR each funded a proxy war through the civil war of Tesenturia where Communist and Democratic supporters would fight and the government would change hands constantly.
Post-Cold War: Even without the major powers backing them up the seperate factions of Tesenturia would wage war for another good 20 years, this time backed by neighbors, both European, and Asian.
Present day: After a series of particularly bloody battles, the more militant warlords, communists, and religious radicals are pushed out or killed off by the Democratic peoples movement, solidifying peace in Tesenturia at least for a little while. Tesenturia is still a focal point and is bloody and battered from nearly 70 years of constant conflict.

(Cont)
>Pic related. I figure Yuri is either the far left, second from the left, or far right.
>>
>>26776525
Tesenturian people in the modern era being hardened by conflict and war are a hardy, and jaded people. If you meet a Tesenturian on the street they will look Russian with a bit of Asian mixed in, a darker skin tone, and more than likely a few scars. While suspicious of newcomers and outsiders earning the trust and respect of a Tesenturian will earn you a valuable friend who will not be the friend sitting next to you in the jail cell smiling like an idiot, but one who concocted a plan ahead of time to not get caught in the first place.
>>
>>26776623
btw if this conflicts with anything OP had in mind feel free to discard it. It's just my imagination running away from me while I'm sorting papers at work.
>>
My only problem with this quest is how long it takes for OP to post.
>>
>>26776868
Not as bad as Blackjack. bastard plays 5-10 rounds of WoT between posts. So its usually 1+hours between posts.

I'm intrigued in this quest for the sheer fact of having an MC in this setting who doesn't suck.
>>
>>26776649
....I love it, can I make this canon, I only created Tesenturia mostly focusing the end of WW2 and playing a little with the idea of them being conscripted or recruited in by the Soviets to help defend Moscow. though that's just an idea)

Other then then that, I love the background. Thanks Anon!

Also for the consensus is a takedown (Either by fists or rthe back of the rifle, disarming, and restraining either to knock him out or for him to say "surrender")

Is this what you want?
>>
>>26776951
Yes. I'd say when we roll for it, each person states the method of takedown they'd prefer, then it's highest roll wins.

Ignoring stupid suggestions of course. (DM's decision)
>>
>>26776951
That sounds fine to me.

Bash him in the face with the butt of the rifle, disarm him as he's disoriented, snap his wand into pieces, put the pointy bit of the bayonet against his gut, tell him to surrender.
>>
>>26776991
Okay, then I will need a diceroll of four

One for the sneak attack, one for the takedown (Method up to highest roll or agreement), one for the pin or hold (Method up to highest roll or agreement), and Guiche's defense reaction.

Rolled 3, 6, 14, 9 = 32

Welcome very much.

If Yuri was summoned in this year, being in his early 20's it would probably make him born in roughly 1987-1991 so right as the fighting turned from proxy war to all out brawl between factions. (So right as the conflict turned ugly.) Also joining up at the age of 15 or so I don't imagine Yuri has any blood relatives remaining. Just maybe a few Polaroids of family and of buddies from basic whom are all gone with the exception of Maya.

>>26777216
Pretty sure that sneak Attack alone Will knock him out
>>
>>26777122
Alright back. Now to continue. Once again OP if anything doesn't fit just say so. I'm just writing to exercise my creativity.

Tesenturian culture is a strange melting pot of many different ethnic minorities similar to America. The northern and western regions are more dominated by Russian and Balkan ethnic groups, whereas the south and east lean more towards the Arabian and Asian.
Tesenturian communities are very close knit, rarely accepting fresh outsiders, however they will do almost anything for one of their own. As such betrayal is one of the worst crimes one can commit, short of murder.
Tesenturian fine arts are almost non-existent outside of hand-crafts, vocal stories and music.

Also if one were to sing this song in russian or whatever the official language of Tesenturia is this would probably fit for the national anthem.

Highest Roll: 20

Under the cover of smoke you bypass the Bronze Valkyrie and a few that were recently summoned probably in his attempt to cover more ground. Unfortunately their movements seem much slower and stiff compared to that first attack so you past by them without as much as a second glance from hem.

Highest Roll: 17

Once you reach a few paces away from the blond from under the smoke you see him and a Bronze Valkyrie at his side, his face with a look of apprehension and a bit of fear as he is trying to figure out where you are. You can hear him muttering with chattered teeth “Dammit, where is he? How did he do th-“

Highest Roll: 18

You didn't give him the chance to finish that sentence as you set your rifle down on the floor and grabbed his non-wand hand and pulled him forward for an uppercut to the chin.

The sticky sound of impact echoed as delicate flesh meets hardened fist you can see his pupils shake briefly as you immediately pull back and then punched him straight into the stomach causing him to gasp in pain. Giving him no time to recover you immediately twists his arm onto his back and brought him down into the ground effectively pinning him.

“Let go of the wand now.” You brought your face into his ear and whispered.

Highest Roll: 14

Unfortunately despite the blows to his body and tears falling from his face in fear but despite it he still struggles and you felt a sharp blow on your back probably from the Valkyrie from his side. The pain slowly burns through you but you repress it as you let the adrenaline take over.
When you hear the sound of clanking Valkyries coming towards you and one beating on your back you’re in a pinch. So you decided to use twist his arm bit more tightly the joints seeming to be on the brink of either dislocation or breaking.
>>
>>26778249
“Your Valkyries with take maybe ten seconds at the earliest to get to our position and finish me.” You said in a haunted tone in your voice as you slowly tightening your grip on one arm and using the other arm to trace his back. “You don’t want to know what I can do in ten second to make you yield so I suggest that you let go of the wand.”

The pounding on your back subsided and you see in the corner of your eye the Valkyrie no longer moving but as a still piece of armor. You look to his other hand in which has let go of the rose and what seemed that he has flicked it to prove that he has no other scheme.

A heavy gust blew thorough the heavy smoke literally making it disappeared as the large crowd who has surrounded your fight looked at you in shock, awe, surprise, and in no lacking in dropped jaws. In what seem to be tens of minutes to you only cast a couple to them and seeing the reversal of fortune so suddenly you can only guess what was going through their mind.

Though one of the things that may be going through their mind is how you appear to be mounting the poor blond.

A lot of that seems to be canon such as the melting pots and the slight divide between regions.

Though betrayal isn't something that common especially due to the series of civil and proxy wars, Loyalty is highly valued to them (especially since a large portion of them have went to some military training and understand such value.)

As for fine arts, yeah I can pretty much think of that as well though there a few well known local artists that have drawn 'landscape' pictures,

Keep our voice low, calm, and cold. No need to yell.

"Guiche, I want you to know that I am merciful. Your title and your magic mean nothing to me. If I wished you dead you would be choking on your own blood. "

Twist his arm a bit more for emphasis, not quite to the point where it will break or dislocate. "Yield, now."

>>
>>26778882
I can't really imagine him not yielding, I mean he's not in good shape, he's in a position that is next to impossible to get out of, and we can break his arm with just a bit more pressure. It'd take a serious level of stupidity on his part for him not to surrender.

But on the off chance that he doesn't breaking his arm is always an option.

>>26779552

“Yield.” You whispered to the blond twisting his arm a bit more to emphasize why he should. “Now!”

“Okay, Okay.” He yelped. “I..I Yield!”
He declares out loud so that the audience can hear him and you let go and stand up facing the audience. Overlooking them they have a mixture of surprised, confusion, or both probably wondering what just happened in those few minutes.

However you don’t feel obliged to tell them anyway.

You look at the blond as he cradles his arm and crouched over in pain.

“Don’t think that just because you have magic that you are almighty.” You stated simply as you continued to see his prone form as he holds his arm and your expression softens somewhat. “Put some ice on it, I’m sure nothing is broken but if you’re concerned that something is wrong I suggest you go to the water healers or whatever you call them.”

You pick up your rifle and detach the bayonet as you walk through the crowd towards the pink haired half-pint and smile. “Miss Valliere, I will like my stuff back and thank you for not touching anything unnecessary.”

She dimly nods at you her face looks like she has seen some two headed monster?

Or is this common in this land after the bugbear you’re not sure anymore.

You begin to lug your pack and wince..

Maybe Guiche has done more damage than you’d realize.

OP? The herald call the forth to post
>>
>>26782040
>And it has responded

You slowly steel yourself once more again it is painful but not so bad that you can’t carry your pack so you assume it isn't that bad. “Well let’s go, then.”

“Huh, go where?” The pink haired half-pint said clearly curious. “I have questions to ask on what just happened.”

“I’ll answer those later but for now, I have a promise to keep.” You said as you walked ahead.

“A promise to whom?”

“You’ll see.”

Well it didn't take that long for her to see since relying on your instincts you head towards the girl’s dorm and see the blue magical dragon looking up at a window. You waved it down and in turn proceeded to charge at you and licked you silly in the meantime wincing as some of them hit your back.

“By the way, Miss Valliere can you do me a favor?” You asked the half-pint in which she asked what you need with some reluctance. “Just some ice, get some of the help if you need but I would really appreciate it.”

She opened her mouth probably to have asked the help earlier but then nodded before leaving and making sure she was far away enough you look at the dragon with a small grin.

“Guess who got treats?” You said in an amused tone in which gained you a happy gleam from the dragon’s eyes before you hushed it. ”Got to eat this quick though before she comes back.”
It nods in understanding before stuffing its face into the leftovers you received from earlier today. While you enjoy watching it east you took the time to examine the damage from your body as you removed your armor and RIC Uniform.

Apparently Guiche’s Golem did a number on your back from the pounding you received though checking your sides not enough for any internal damage but it leave some bad bruising.
You assumed that if it weren't for the armor you wear underneath that it might have been much worse.
>>
>>26782077

“Wha-What happened to you!” A shrill voice that you are starting to get really familiar with and turn to see the half-pint along with the maid from earlier who is carrying a large pack of ice in a basket.

“Well it seems that Guiche managed to get a few pun…” You were about to explain before being cut off.

“Not that what are those scars!”

I don't think we need to tell her every explicit detail of out past. The majority of soldiers don't talk about what happens or only give sparse details. We can give her enough details to at least let her know who we are but not the specifics of it. Growing up in war is not a thing one talks about with a non-soldier.

Since OP will be gone for a while I suppose I'll add in more about Tesenturia. Once again anything I write is up to the discretion of OP on cannon

The Tesenturian spirit is one of resilience and determination, even when outnumbered and outgunned. A common joke is that a Russian can survive a blizzard, and an arab can survive a sand storm, but a Tesenturian can weather a hail of bullets in the forest of knives.
Most children learn how to service a gun long before they learn to spell or count. This and a communal protection of the young has helped the Tesenturian people not die out in their small country. By the time they reach adolescence a child has more often than not survived at least one battle if not participated in it. Teenagers will usually choose one of a few ways in life. Either join the local militant faction, stay with the local community, or leave the country. However the number that leave the country usually only do so to receive higher education and then return. Upon returning the teen now usually an adult will either stay with the home community to better it or use the education to better their chosen faction.
>>
>>26782598

You gave a shrug and thank both girls for the ice as you lay yourself on your stomach and the girls placed the bags of ice on the bruises on your back. You felt chill as your body begins to shutter involuntarily but at the same time also felt good if not a little numbing. “I already told you before Miss. Valliere , I am a soldier and well these are reminders of carelessness and mistakes.”

She slowly nods while staring at your scars as well as the dragon and Siesta and frankly you feel a little uncomfortable. “What did you expect? Did you think I was lying before?”
She suddenly stiffens as she stands straight at attention, not bad posture for a first timer.

“W-Well no, I mean yes!” She stutters trying to get her story straight. “I mean when you first told me that I thought you were joking until you asked about Guiche and the fight.”

“Information is power, Miss Valliere.” You replied to her while giving off a small smirk. “It could have gotten a lot messier if I went in blind.”

“B-by the way what happened during the fight, we didn’t see what happened and how did you managed to do that!.” She asked probably asking on how the information she told you worked out and you did explain in great detail (excluding the threat to Guiche) in which she nods in understanding or tilts her head in confusion during parts of your explanation but overall she seems to get what happened and accepts it.

However while you’re glad you managed to convey what happened but the uncomfortable feeling in your chest swell as the staring from the maid and the dragon at you continues. While normally you’ll just shrugged it off but since you’re shirtless and on your stomach gives you a helpless sensation in which you usual try to avoid.

“Um Siesta, why are you staring?” You asked the maid as the staring is fueling your sense of weariness.
>>
>>26783459

“Oh” Her head snaps up as she gives you a warm smile and her cheeks were slightly reddened. “Besides members of my family, I’ve never seen another member of the opposite sex half naked before so this is a new experience.”

“Kyuu” The Dragon cries as it licks you in the face again.

However that most children learn how to service a gun is a stereotype among international community (or rather the joke of invading armies) though most have seen bombings, and aftermaths of battles
>>
>>26783577
Oh man if we can find rest of the materials we could make a ration box guitar. Assuming the box was wood. Then we can attempt to play some songs of home.
>>
>>26783606
true, irukuku is best girl
>>
>>26783637
We could just, y'know, ask Louise and Siesta if they have guitars in this world.

The day rations are made of tin or some type of scrap metal.and is one of the reasons why member of the Reserve Corp was prosecuted for mugging officers who ate their meals outside since a ration box was used as a weapon.

Military stereotypes label the reserve corp that anything they can use get their hands on will be used as a weapon.
>>
>>26783680
True but making our own just appeals to the scavenger in me.

>>26783683
Only because it's true. When you have to defend your home anything will become a weapon. From tin can lids to chopsticks.
>>
>>26783727
What about soup cups?
>>
>>26783738
Tea, actually.
>>
>>26783727
>>26783738
Its really amazing how many thing can be lethal in a hostile environment
or maybe im just a sociopath
>>
>>26783463
So anything else besides petting the dragon and let Siesta stare at our body?
>>
>>26783606
Well i guess we could say its for science
>>
>>26783923
A tin can lit can be cut into a knife shape. Chopsticks can be jammed through the ears into the head, and a sharpened pencil can server the Femoral artery. Humans are surprisingly delicate.

>>26783949
Let the ice cool on the bruises. It's not like we don't have all the time in the world at the moment, but when we are sufficiently cooled off we should probably look for Prof.Colbert again.
"If it makes you embarrassed you are not obliged to look."
>>
>>26783949
After a rest we could seek Colbert, as we had earlier.
>>
>>26783998
A credit card (or anything made the same way, really) snapped in two at a proper angle makes a surprisingly good one-time shiv.
>>
>>26783998
>Humans are surprisingly delicate
No we just know how to kill each other really easily
For instance you can kill a bear in one punch
>>
>>26783683
>anything they can use get their hands on will be used as a weapon
Gather around children, let me tell you about the time comrade Chekhov killed 20 rebels using only a toothpick, two flares and a tub of pudding.
>>
>>26783998
Not really. We just know the best ways to kill each other. Most of you body if fairly resilient. In fact you can live with about half of your organs missing if you get a doctor to patch you up fast enough.
>>
>>26784081
you wont live very long but yeah this
>>
>>26783949
i forgot, since you guys want to see Colbert. I need a roll
>>
>>26784081
A bare human is pretty damn delicate. The only reason the body is resilient is because we are smart enough to be able to batch ourselves up.

>>26784067
Are you trying to give the children nightmares? You know that they found pudding inside his skull.

There was a man who was knocked out by a lamp and tossed about by a tornado in the states. walked away with a few broken limbs and appendages. Really as long as you're not bleeding profusely you will probably live, even if crippled.
>>
>>26784260
Tornadoes have a record of lifting and dropping things without breaking them though. And it's rather easy to begin bleeding, even internally.

Also I think we might have hit auto-sage
>>
>>26784301
Yep, update archive and start a new thread?
>>
>>26784315
We should probably just let this one hit at least page 9 or 10 before starting a new one but yeah update the archive
>>
>>26784301
Oh no. It broke him alright. It broke his face, and his ribs and his arms, and his hip...
>>
Also a list of things to acquire at some point.

Guitar
Booze
Smokes
A journal to write ideas and schematics in.

“Very well, Siesta.” You sighed while petting the dragon though you feel like a fish on a cutting board and wish you have your pistol in your hand right about now but you set that feeling aside and let her watch.

You spend the rest of the time just having small talk, something you were never good except with your comrades let alone teenage girls but you bared with it and found a refreshing feeling despite the politeness of Siesta towards the Half-pint and the noble altitude in vice-versa. After the ice has melted and prevented the bruises from swelling some time has passed.
Now that you feel better and put on your armor and uniform you thought about trying your hand at finding Colbert again. After explaining that you want to try finding Colbert again the half-pint began to mouth a protest but sighs and decided to return to her dorm and prepare for dinner. Siesta has invited you to have dinner with the help since apparently word had spread rapidly about your victory against Guiche when she went to get the ice. Also the blue dragon decided to go fly towards the forest obviously bored at the small talk at some point.

You thank her for the invitation as you then try to find Colbert once more.

Highest Roll: 19

Decided to use your instinct that helped you find the blue dragon before it led you to Colbert’s Lab/Home. After a few knocks on the door the door opens to reveal the bald wizard.

>What do you say or do?
>>
>>26784523
I believe it was enquire about going home, and joking about spacetravel.
>>
>>26784523
Greet him and ask if we may come in
>>
>>26784523
Well lets see according to last time we wanted to find him we were looking for general information on the world. Also we should ask him if he knew what our pistol was, since he apparently told louise to be careful of it.
>>
>>26784523
"Good afternoon (or evening) Professor. If you are free at the moment I would like to speak with you. Specifically about this world and the circumstances of my transportation here."
>>
>>26784523
So greet him, ask about general information about the world (Need more specifics), ask him about your gun, and ask how you can return home
>>
>>26784754
Do we have consensus?
>>
Ask him if there will be repercussions for beating the crap out of Guiche.
>>
>>26784754
Also, ask if you can talk inside.
You don't necessarily want to talk about your gun out in the open.
>>
>>26784839
So consensus is to talk inside, ask about general information (Be specific), talk about the gun, ask for a way home?

Is this the consensus
>>
>>26784871
yup. As far as the general information I suppose asking about the whole magic thing as well as the political climate. It would be nice to know if war is going to break out soon.
>>
>>26784882
Well you already learned about the basic of magic from the teacher who got her classroom blown up by Louise but political climate is okay I guess.
>>
>>26784940
oh and the consequences of handing guiche's ass to him on his bronze platter
>>
>>26784953
Sorry, but I'm starting to past out on my keyboard. so I'm going to sleep. if the thread is still on then I'll continue
>>
>>26785073
It probably won't be. Just make a new one when you feel ready too. Night.
