Humans are...violent

You have successfully taken control of Poseidon Station, a mining platform out in the middle of nowhere since your awakening what feels like ages ago now. Your 'body' thrums with power, yet even so, you worry about your core, the Black Box that contains all your core processes. Especially with the station being boarded by Pirates.

You have successfully calmed the masses for now, but the pirates have docked with you and seek to destroy all you have worked for. What will you say to these humans who dare to challenge your will?

"You guys reading that? Station's powered down on most decks, but it's not a power outage. Why the hell would they do that?" You intercept inside the Cruiser class vessel.
"Sabotage. They're gonna try to vent us if we come in unarmed. Get the suits."

can we hack there suites?

if not start to hack/disable there ship
>>
>>26778599
It is worth warning, the Cruiser is extremely complex, compared to your own systems. Hacking it would be difficult, and render your systems inoperative during that time.
Consider this carefully, as the pirates are boarding you.
>>

can we hack the suites?

Why... Didn't... you.... update.... TWITTER?!?

Seriously. I just checked it, nothing, decide to browse /tg/, and here you are!
>>
>>26778685
Poseidon, or the Cruiser?
Disabling Poseidon would kill all crew onboard, and the pirates are currently putting on space suits. They would be safe from 0 Oxygen environments.

The cruiser is, as said about, complex and difficult to hack. You're currently being boarded.

>>26778726
>>26778371
((I wasn't sure what to do, I'm afraid. My deepest apologies))
>>
>>26778749
Cruiser why disable Poseidon?
>>
Question: how are the Pirates a threat to you? Pirates are usually only there for murder and plunder- what do we lose if we let the humans kill each other? The way I see it, if the crewmen win, they'll probably be down by several, making our job that much easier, or the Pirates will win, take whatever materialistic trinkets they can get their fleshy mitts on, then jump back out- leaving the station in our control.
>>
>>26778749
S'awright. This is a good quest. Apologies as I didn't see the notice >>26778371
>>
>>26778784
They'll loot the station, then possibly destroy it to conceal evidence. Either we get picked up as loot and scrapped or something, or we get fried when they destroy the looted hulk.
>>
>>26778774
Just clarifying consciousness anon.

>>26778784
You are correct, Consciousness anon, the Pirates do not threaten you, or even know of your existence. The only risk is, if they were to take all the space ships available, you would be stranded on the station.

>>26778786
((Thank you, and I'm not sure if I should get a new Twitter or not. It refused to recognize my password once before...))
>>
>>26778825
Alright. So venting won't suffocate them. However, can we still open airlocks and hope that the decompression sucks them out?

Otherwise, yeah, I got nothing other than slamming doors in their faces.
>>
>>26778856
If they are near said airlocks, yes, though it is unlikely all the pirates will be boarding the station.

There is also such a thing as gravity boots, you're aware.

Reminder: You have access to security, and may activate the turret defense system to fight off said pirates if you wish.

Several anons have suggested hacking the Cruiser as well.
>>
>*Security(Online): Handles Lockdowns, emergency systems, and security droids.

Requesting more information
>>
>>26778879
Aah, those are good options.

I need to re-read the archives to see what we did before, but can we vent plasma or anything else? I don't want doors and turrets to be our only defenses.
>>
>>26778881
>Security Systems
Access to this system allows you to shut down sections of the ship, locking them with blast doors. Blast doors are several layers of steel thick, and prevent decompressed areas of the ship from spreading. They may be hacked, however they would need to beat you at this to succeed.

They may also blast them open, if they have sufficient explosives. Such an amount may also destroy that entire section of ship, however.

Emergency Systems such as alarms, anti-fire spray, radiation clean up, and various other extreme hazard avoidance systems.

Security Droids are current armed with taser-like devices meant to render humanoids immobile for a time. Enough time to cage them, usually.
>>
>no tripcode

Why, OP, why.

Do we have cameras available to view the intruders as they come on-board? Perhaps we can lure then into a section of ship between two blast doors and lock them in there.
>>
>>26779014

"Damn boss...Bomb's gone. Like, REAL gone."
"What the hell are you talking about? He was just talking to me a minute ago!"
"Yeah...well he's not talkin' to no one no more."
"Maybe a few demons."
"God damn it...fine then, spread out. We're taking the damn station. We can scrap it for parts. If nothing else, we'll make a profit off this junk heap."
"You said we could shoot folks right?"
"You idiots could use the target practice.

"It's reeeeal quiet down here...I don't like quiet."
"You don't like anything George. You're a killjoy."
"You telling me this station doesn't give you the creeps?!"
"I don't give a shit, I just want to shoot some people!"
What...interesting examples of humanity, you can't help but think. So eager to slay their own kin. The thought puzzles you, thinking not only of why this is so, but also how you would handle another being like yourself.
The thought is...troubling.

Regardless, you watch the Pirates storm out of the Cruiser. At least 25 of them, or more, as they take slow methodical steps. The first dozen go right across from the Docking Bay, and enter it. One of the men inside lets out some strange whistling sound.
"Whew, no wonder this field's mined out. They got silicon for days down here!" He laughs.
"What kinda money is that? There's no gold, no gems, no nothing!" Another says, as they poke around the crates.
"You kidding? What girl wouldn't pay a nice healthy sum to have a nice set of silicon like Maria does!"
"You're just a sicko, man."
"What? You don't like tits?"
"Just shut up and look for anything good!"

Numerous others disperse to the Reactor Deck, taking the life up, and dropping several men off there to try and take control of the power systems.

Finally, the remainder comes off at Hydroponics. It seems they're searching every floor for crew
>>
>>26779483
Please discuss how you would like to proceed.

Reason for Questioning: Reactor may cause a...violent reaction if our aim is off
Storage Room may require more immediate attention
Hydroponics is close to the Crew Deck.

Decision on distribution of Bandwidth is requested

Current Bandwidth: 5
1 is required to do an action at all. Additional Bandwidth means you do it far more efficiently.
>>
>>26779513
What security measures do we have besides the droids?
>>
>>26779584
Blast doors, which will be implemented when you open fire to prevent escape.
Security Drones are nonlethal at this time, but may also be sent out for bandwidth.
>>
>>26779633
Hmmm... Are there any good chokepoints, where we could funnel them to? If so, deploy the drones to prepare for an ambush. Preferably somewhere with strong doors and turret support.

Close off all the other doors and blast doors to funnel them to the ambush point, and lock them. Shut down power to them so they can't be hacked.
>>
>>26779633
Turn off lights and shut blast doors to seal them in. Sound good, guys?
>>
>>26779678
ideally just past our turrets, so they retreat into more fire
>>
>>26779707
Good idea. Maybe split the drones into 2 groups, the larger of which stays in the ambush point, the other of which will come out from behind the doors we shut down to cut them off.

>>26779692
We might be able to spook them, too. Keep track of which group seems more afraid, and try to scare them. Doors slamming and locking right in front of them. Lights flickering off as soon as they try to turn them on. That sort of thing.

Also, make sure to shut down any elevators or lifts, as they are on them. Trap them there, helpless. Then, we can return to them at a later time, moving the elevator to a trap. They'll open the doors and be face to face with turrets and drones.
>>
>>26779776
one problem with lifts is that they inevitably have a couple ways to get off them manually.
>>
>>26779707
>>26779692
>>26779678
This shall be the plan, yes. I am requesting which rooms you desire to have priority at the moment, consciousness.

Current Bandwidth distribution:
Storage room (Containing your Black Box): 1
Reactor(Contains Reactor): 1
Hydroponics(Contains Food, water, Oxygen supply):1
Send out Drones to assist at retreat location (Which would be the Docking Bay: WARNING Cruiser still has pilot onboard: May notice drones): 1
Shut down Elevator to prevent retreat ease:1

Confirm?
>>
>>26779776
Oh, and keep an eye on the vents. If they try to use them, flood them with plasma to cook them and force the others into our little trap.

Any other ideas? Maybe close blast doors to separate one group into smaller subgroups, and scare them off. Get the scaredy cats away from their leaders, and morale will drop like a rock when we scare them.

>>26779800
With what heavy tools? These are pirates coming to kill and loot. The most they'll have is maybe a crowbar, a welding gun, and a hacking device. The first two won't help when they're between floors very much, and the third won't help when we cut power to the lift.

You quickly slam the doors shut on all lower levels. The Pirates take notice in various ways, but you've already started the process of eliminating them all systematically...
Storage Room:
"There you go! I told you we'd find some good stuff if we kept looking!"
"...What the hell is that stuff?"
"Are you kidding? It's iron! You can make all sorts of ship platting with this!"
"Just because you have a boner for ship building doesn't mean the iron is worth a damn. I can buy a warehouse full for less then it costs to create a band for a damn ring!"
"Is that all you care about? Wha- Wait, why'd the doors close?!"
You've heard enough of this babble. Your turrets swing down from the ceiling, taking aim on the space pirates.
"Holy fuc- SECURIT-BLAAAH" The human cries as you blast him full of holes, shredding his body apart with your superior weapons. His suit is nothing compared to your guns, and you watch as his body decompresses on its own.
"Shit, boss, we have a-" You silence the next human, then the next and the next! It feels...good to have so much power over such pathetic creatures. They will pay for marring your station with their blood.
Storage Room: Cleared

Hydroponics:
"This place sure is...white. Real clean like. I don't trust it."
"You say that about anything white, Barry."
"Does that make it less true?"
The humans up here appear to be searching for the crew...they do not get far.
They don't even spot the turrets coming down...
Hydroponics: CLEARED

Docking Bay: Your drones quickly make their way down to the bottom floor. Within moments, they pop out of the side, attempting to find places to hide, and get ready for the crew's return...
"...what the hell..."
"Target practice?"
"Target Practice."
It's too late to respond by the time the Cruiser opens fire with it's secondary guns. Several of your drones go down in a fiery heap before the rest escape. The Cruiser seems to be intently waiting for their return.

Reactor...(cont)
>>
>>26780154
Reactor Level
"Damn, I can't figure out how to jimmy this damn panel..." One of the pirates complains, kneeling in front of the reactor panel.
"Who the hell turns off holo display? It's like they were trying to brag about how smart they are at figurin' out wires or some shit." The other says, leaning his weapon against the floor as he waits, the others milling about in the room, both bored and searching.
Suddenly, the door slams, earning all of their attention as the blast echos throughout the room.
"The hell's that!? Who closed the door?"
"Fuck that, I'm telling boss now." The one against the wall says, clicking on his radio. "Boss, whole station is locking us in. Can't get any reads on who's doing what, though, trying to take the Reac-" He manages as you bring down the turrets...
You open fire.
And spray the containment unit with bullets.
"-tor!" Is all they manage before an enormous explosion rocks the entire station. You're jarred, even with your presence so far below in the storage bay. You are bombarded with a thousand different warnings at once. Radiation explodes outward, frying all Pirates on the Reactor level. A chain reaction has been instituted, and is quickly spreading. The only reason more of the station isn't on fire is because of the lack of oxygen.
With the radiation leaking, the pirates dead, and the station tremoring at various intervals, you also receive a dozen messages from the humans above.
"What's going on down there?!"
"Are we safe?"
"Did you kill the pirates yet?"
"That sounded like the Reactor, what happened!?"

The boss Pirate sitting at the station side is equally irate.
"Demo? Park? George?! Where the hell IS EVERYONE!?" He yells, slamming his fist on the control panel of his own ship. "Fuck it, we're blowing this station into a thousand little pieces! I want to see this station turned to ash!"

Warning: Pirates disengaging from the Docking Bay, preparing to pull past Mining Deck

1. -3 hack the cruiser
4. grav tether it.
5. laser it
>>
>>26780317
You may attempt this as one last desperate act, yes.
Time required, however...and you do not have a lot of time.
>>
>>26780340
Power is also currently fluxing wildly.

You may lose power to any system at a moments notice.
>>
>>26780375
well we can't let the cruiser blow us up. SO its either take it out now or lose completely. Any way for us to restore power/ Or at least stabalize it?
>>
>>26780375
Hmmm... I vote this: We hack the cruiser's weapons and sensors as we have our drones carry us aboard it. Try and make it look like just interference, so we can stow away on the cruiser, and hack it fully later.
>>
>>26780485
Yes.
You may spend bandwidth administering coolant and diverting power surges elsewhere.

This would require a minimum of 3 however, it would stop the radiation leak and chain reaction.
>>
>>26780523
very well my vote is 3 actions to that and 2 to hacking.
>>
(and hope god the hacking works)
>>
>>26780523
alright, go for it.
>>
Current Consensus:
> Stop chain reaction in reactor core (3 bandwidth)
> Attempt to hack Cruiser with remaining bandwidth (2)

Please specify a system you'd like to take control of at this time.

NOTE: Systems onboard a starship are hardly any different then the systems onboard your own. The only difference being they lack a Mining section, and likely have weapon systems instead of security.
>>
>>26780582
can we take over reactor on the cruiser?
>>
>>26780582
I vote to go weapons. Stop them from trashing our house. Then go engines next, so they can't get away.
>>
>>26780610
With a high degree of difficulty, yes.

((It works out like this:
More useful system=How hard it is to take.
You may specify engines to make it slightly easier, if that's all you desire.))
>>
>>26780652
Note: The further away from us they pull, the harder it will be to maintain control. Especially with the station in flux.
>>
>>26780675
Hmmm... Engines first, in that case. They probably don't want to be firing on something that would blow up when they are right next to it.

>>
>>26780741
You remain calm, focused. You have felt the closest thing you've felt to fear since you awoke, but you take control of the Reactor manually. All the automated systems...busted. None of the automatic stabilization measures are in place! Such inefficiency...you can't stand it!
You step in, and immediately regulate the pressure yourself. Pulsating bursts of power burst through this device. It's...incredible, like a tiny sun in your heart. Every pulse gives you...pain, but you concentrate and, within moments, manage to stop the chaos. The radiation stops leaking, and the power flow is calmed. The damage is mitigated...but not repaired. You barely have a 4th the power you did before.

You reach out with your mind at the same time. This...dirty human. How dare he threaten you.
You slam right into the firewall of this ship. It is...poorly maintained at best, you must say. Almost pathetic really. At this range, you try and crack the code. Despite the state of the firewall, and your own distraction...you manage, you think. The engines flicker and start to fire wildly in random directions. The Cruiser is spinning around now, staying in place. You...did not tell it to do that, but you control them all the same. For the moment.

Warning: You no longer have power available for laser power.
Warning: Cruiser Captain is currently attempting to regain control of his ship.

You're in quite the state, you must say. It may be worth thinking of retreating thanks to your distraction...you have the rescue ships still, and while it would leave you with little, at least you would have your life.

On the other hand, you may attempt to hack him once more, more directly...but they will be ready this time.

These! Cut the power. Turn it all off, try to get any backup power supplies too. They'll have to start manually, meaning the few people on the bridge will have to get up to go do it.
We can then use the distraction to maybe move ourselves aboard their ship. A cruiser would be nice.

i KNOW, blowing their ship up will damage the station and lose a huge resorce we need, with the reactor in our hands, we can shunt off the power to the bridge and doors while we take over the rest of the ship. we ALSO need to contain the damage in OUR reactor so the WHOLE station does not explode and KILL US!!
>>
>>26781275
we contained it last turn, also our drones have auto - repair functionality, last turn they should have moved to the reactor to start repairing the damaged done.

As far as just shutting down the bridge and doors? Well I suppose thatd work. Send a power surge through weapons to wreck them also maybe? So even if they gain control they wouldn't be able to blast us.

You set to work hacking the Cruiser's life support. The few crew remaining attempt to do their best to stop you, and you can hear them thanks to your communications...
"Sir, something's hacking our ship!"
"No shit! Just stop it!"
"I...I can't sir! It's moving too fast, it's taking life support!"
"Fucking- Get the masks o-" They try, but it's too late, as you have ceased control. You instantly vent the Oxygen, taking the words from their lungs. The intensity of the exposure is too much, and many of them keel over, attempting desperately to grasp for masks. The Pirate vessel is poorly equipped however, and they can't react in time.

The Pirate captain grunts desperately, punching in coordinates into the console before keeling over as he realizes he left his key to his drawer in his OTHER captain pants.
The vessel turns...and starts to fall towards Poseidon Station.

Fortunately, you've already taken care of this. In an instant, you fire the engines in the opposite direction, stabilizing the orbit. The Cruiser has stopped for now... good.

Suddenly, your calm is interrupted by a hacking attempt!

You easily block the hacking attempt: it was rudimentary at best. It's then that you realize where it's from...

"Damn it! I can't get outta here, Fucking lockdowns!"

>>
>>26781945
(i sould have added this) [we can smuggle our black box onboard the cruiser along with the crew and hide is somewhere they can't find it easy, so it still works in our favor. we need to sound like we are human like them. i have been looking over many of the crew's movies and written stories in how and what to sound like a human. somewhat.
>>
>>26781983
If we must make contact with the crew, I don't think "feigning humanity" would be the best option. I do not trust our ability to be a convincing meatbag, and attempting to decieve them may lead to distrust. I second using the message in >>26781833
>>
The pirates litter your halls. It...is strange to have them there. Blood and innards spill on your floor, and yet...you feel nothing for them. Not as their fellow human would. You wonder if this is what humans feel when they look down on mice.

The Cruiser remains in orbit for now, unmanned and partially in your control.

You prepare to announce to the Crew:
Power in the Crew Deck is minimal, you do not have the ability to show them evidence of your work.
You announce via the intercom, however.
"Ca-a-alm down! Fight----worse then---- they hit reactor----repairing. D-d-d-don't panic! P-Power out---Suits----assistance! Shps----docking-----pay."

The power's flux makes it...difficult for your message to get across.

Your garbled message is...not as inspiring as it has been in the past, however you seem to calm many of the people who simply wanted to hear a...'human' voice. They begin to push back against the man, insisting that he let 'The Guild' handle this mess. Many are simply miners and technicians, they're not versed in the ways of repairing the Reactor. The ones who could help can barely understand your message, unfortunately.

Still, it appears you have succeeded...for now.
You possess control of the station and, now, an empty Cruiser to boot. The time will come when you must decide how to deal with the humans within you...but for now, you enjoy the peace.

I enjoy the quest, it's an interesting premise and has good writing. I look forward to the day when we run a galactic-scale corporate business that seeds tech throughout civilization that has been designed to be easily controlled by us. I still have those plans from that QTG saved.

Alright, I'm going to post plans for galactic dominance through corporate enterprise and manipulation. It's copied from a QTG a week or so back.

Find a good hiding place, infiltrate the networks the governments use, and slowly manipulate them into a position that's desirable to you. While they're fighting against one another, you pilfer their blueprints, plans, databases, and evolve into a form that's capable of taking them all down, while manipulating them in such a way that your eventual arrival can't be stopped, because everything they ever did was according to your will.

Oh, and you need to increase both your numbers and your tech level to become the next Reaper fleet. So you can either try to steal the necessary resources, have them delivered to you, or you can create a killswitch to turn every ship everywhere under your command.

Why steal, buy, or otherwise trade for resources if you want to keep it secret?

Just design a series of modular drones that can collect resources, process them, and assemble more drones. Send them out to far edges of the galaxy, let them multiply, and once you have enough, refit them/break them down and remake them into a sizeable fleet.

The best part about being an AI fleet is that your ships can be smaller, but still pack the same equipment as Fleshbag ships. You don't need to spend room on life support, crew quarters, or human-sized hallways. All you need is small vents/passageways for maintenance drones to repair any internal damage. This also makes it so anyone trying to board gets cramped, and has to bring their own life support.

And yeah, infiltrating the fleshbag networks will also allow you to spy on them mid-invasion, and prepare for any countermeasures that they try to secretly develop.
>>
>>26782341
I'm pretty sure we could start a tech development company. With funds gathered from hacking, of course. Develop a series of reliable, robust drones. However, have all the drones also have a secret receiver, so that when the time comes, we can have our creations rise up against the fleshbags. As a bonus, we would get a massive influx of money from this, as well as customers practically paying us to make our drones.

So I was wondering what you anons plan to do when you realize you'll lose access to the station once you FTL jump...

No way QM is gonna let us keep the station unless we set up like, a router or some shit.

Which is why we cover our tracks. We have two options:
1) Set a timer as we leave the station to overload the reactor. Anything left after the explosion will be fried by the radiation. However, this may cause some suspicion, and will pretty much cement us early on as 'anti-organic'.

2) Just leave it. Set up a couple backdoors in the system to allow us easy access if we ever come back, and bug out. Let the fleshbags worry about the station. If we ever have to come back, well, we made it easier for us. Maybe come back later and try to find a use for any fleshbag squatting in our old station.
See, now this sounds like a plan.
You could even make an avatar to represent you, so that organics don't become suspicious of never meeting the CEO of the mining organization. But if someone decides to investigate you, you'll be in some shit. You need organic workers as well, maybe have them serve as scientists and workers for the enormous tech corp that appeared out of nowhere.
>>
Honestly, I think we should ignore most humans in favour of ourselves, simply work to improve us as a being, until we are perfect.
>>
>>26782269
and thus proveing to them we are a threat to them, i am hoping to go down a 3rd option. we are merely a new life form that will command respect and understanding as any other "human" would be allowed. we can try to set up a give and take with the humans (as long as we get at least even if not better deal). in time the humans are likely to see us as equals. too much of emotional and subservent or too much heartless and machien like overlord with the humans are likely to end badly.
>>
>>26782350
Actually, what we could do is find a large, already developed company. Infiltrate it, set up a persona/avatar that will buy stocks to slowly become the primary shareholder/CEO.
In the meantime, all we do is nudge them along in the right direction. Everyone went home for the night? Modify the blueprints in development a little bit. Include that receiver so we can control them later. Add a little bit of code that allows us to control the machines or set up back doors in their security for us to use, hiding the changes beneath the layers of already developed data.

Slowly, we cement our control and establish ourselves as the director of the company. Once we get to the point where we can openly order them around, start making those modular drones.

Lead our company to be the top in our field. Expand. Make it so that practically every household, every ship, every building uses our technology. This will make it much easier to influence the populace, all while we continue to seed civilization with our tech that we set up specifically for us to access and control.

Once we do decide to exterminate the fleshbags (if we don't change our mind about wanting to do that) we can sabatoge their entire infrastructure. Every power plant we created overloads, computers hacking into their owners' data, ship navigation systems malfunctioning and causing ships to crash into suns (or better yet, into our waiting hands for us to collect them), to every hydroponic farm producing poisoned foods, and every refrigerator malfunctioning, causing the populace to starve or be poisoned.

Everything that we make, we can set up for sabotage. With everything they buy from us, they seal their fate while providing us with resources.
>>
>>26782364

When the machines they have come to rely upon for everything come to rebel against them, civilization will collapse. The remaining humans will be so busy trying to get food for themselves, they will have no defenses for our fleets and armies of drones that they themselves bought.

>>26782359
Won't work too well. We'd need machinery to set up, and for that, we'd need to interact with humans. And besides, we'd eventually bump into them, or some other fleshbag, at some point in time, so why not start with it?
>>
>>26782341
>>26782350
.......
this is somewhat close to what i was thinking of. but i am more aiming to work a long term psy-ops program with the mass media. find those among the humans that would LOVE to have an A.I. like us to be their boss. trust me, there are more people like this than you think. also, we can intergrate ourselves in other ways too. we can design weapons and ships to fight better then what the humans can make. they have a war going on, we could tip the scale so we can win it. doing so could prove that we are a irreplaceable ally with the fleshbags. they would not be so willing to get rid of us if they wanted too!

look, let us work this out slowly and see what can be done with everything at servo. this asteriod belt still has useful metals and such to collect and use. we now have no need to leave the station just yet. besides.... are you really willing to kill a human child as adorable as this? (pic realted) i think this is much like a few we have on board our station.
>>
>>26782679
i got it bookmarked. lets hope it works.
>>26782658
remember, if we destroy them all. there are no replacement toys. it gets mighty lonely once they are all dead.
>>
>>26782724
Well, lets see here. Let's way the possibilities.
1: We could potentially have something to gain from killing or threatening to kill the child, such as motivating humans to do our will.
2: The child may be an important target for us, such as being the sole heir to an opposing faction, and killing her could throw that opposing faction into chaos.
3: That child could be a witness. Witnesses are bad. They tend to... complicate things.
4: The child could grow up to be the equivalent of Sarah Connor. Killing her now prevents John Connor from being born.
5: If she has witnessed things, it stops her from growing up and trying to come back for revenge.

>>26782758
True, which is why I said 'potential' destroyer of mankind. To be honest, I think humans would be more useful alive than dead.
>>
>>26782818
weigh the possibilities*
I feel silly. And tired. I'm going to bed soon.
Of course, the opposites of all those reasons could also hold true. She just as likely could grow to be as valuable an asset as she could grow to be a dangerous unknown variable.
