11th day of Prophecy, 05:10 pm, inside the coastal main camp of the crusaders. Zipangu.

The short walk outside of the inner camp had to be one of the tensest moments of your life; every single red hooded-robbed Inquisitors of the Flaming Fist projected an aura of utter displeasure and near outrage despite the fact that they’re feelings were herded and suppressed by their damnable masks, nearly twenty people standing shoulders to shoulders with grim resolve and amazing military countenance, projecting a certain impression that you know very well given that you’ve had your own company of elite men in the past; they would need only the word of their commander to butcher you, Mylen, Leila and Ismael to shreds and they certainly made it known, albeit through passive-aggressiveness.

You’ve got to hand the girl some credits; she seemed to have somehow waltzed into camp despite the closed oaken doors and reinforced wooden walls (namely sharpened top); the heavy set of plate covered her entire body from the neck down, front and back, cocooning her in a shell of bright blue metal without the slightest hints of skin or clothes showing anywhere, the set would have given away her position by sounds alones, it’s as if she somehow jumped in stealthily

You immediate thought, of course, is wondering how hot it must be under all that metal but the fresh autumnal temperate temperature of the gorgeous island and the fact that you can’t see a hint of discomfort point out that this lady seem more than used to her garb; she even walk while producing a reduced amount of sound, proof that she has, at the very least, a few years under her belt with this thing, the long braid of gorgeous light blue hair barely swing behind her as well as she lead your little trio out of this inner prison (it’s a stifling place) with barely a remark to the two men responsible for opening the thing, thus you concentrate some more on the great, strong back of Ismael and…

Try to ignore your anger and discomfort as best you can, your very first encounter with Ahriman Edan left you more than a little upset, to know that this bastard sent you on a hunt to capture a monster for the purpose of selling it to a disgusting hedonistic twig twisted the image you had of the Inquisitor. Much worst was the fact that you actually took Mylen with you, the woman whose fondness and loyalty to you never faltered after long, stressful years; it almost motivated you to skewer them on the spot with all thoughts of self-preservation thrown away…

On the bright side, you seem to have gained some points with your target.

One a less optimistic side, you’ll probably need to explain yourself to Leila once everything dies down, assuming she doesn’t sell you out on the spot to the High General, your peregrination to his big strategic tent isn’t long or tortuous at least thank to the general proximity of the Flaming Fist headquarter, as such once outside you don’t gather much curious or otherwise gawking glance as everyone in here seem much too busy with their own duty to worry about a succubus squeezed between a Inquisitor without mask, a Purifier and a strange lady-knight leading them on, granted the rumor of a captured monster has most likely trickled down to the soldiers your current position make any potential peek impossible.

You exchange a fast glance with Mylen and she give you a very fast, very short lived little smile before recouping her previous emotional balance and looking absolutely bored of everything and keeping her eyes on the ground in some faux show of submissiveness as you continue your tense walk…then stop as Ismael did.

‘’I’ll enter first, you three will stay and keep eyes on the prisoner.’’

This isn’t the strategic tent, Ismael stopped near a much milder, somber one but a few glances here and there reveal a few women strategically posted as watches and deterrents, making this corner of the inner camp your own little cozy spot, at least better than the Flaming Fist place, although Hieronymus isn’t your ally yet.

And here you are, meeting him a second time while he said you’d probably never see each other again, how quaint.

It’s hard forcefully distracting yourself from this awkward atmosphere.
Before long the gracious form of the blue woman emerge from the drapes of the exit, you try to sneak a curious glance but fail to see anything at all beside the blue plate or cotton.

She gesture toward Mylen whose platitude didn’t decrease a notch, to a point that anyone of sound mind would question some kind of military training; honestly you can’t answer that question, your old lover was already better than the soldiers of your house when you were trying to complete your own exercises and she never really mentioned if she had ever been trained…

Of course that was the simplest, most obvious response you could give and Ismael grace you with a nod, provoking some clicks of her armor.

I feel that forcing them to acknowledge that they took custody of Mylen and making them responsible for her well-being, should be enough for now.
The plan is to talk with Leila back in our tent where we can have some privacy, explain things as much as we can without telling her the truth, and then immediately come back here to "pick up the prisoner".

You don’t exactly like projecting this greed and blatant attempt at climbing the ladder of power, but you figure this is the best way to voice your care for Mylen who, of course, is staying as stoic as ever, juggling between looking at the armored woman in the eyes to finding some fascination in the dirt ground, the two of you avoid looking at each other and that’s for the best; there’ll probably be some inevitable hint of tenderness and you doubt that it’ll go unnoticed by this blue-clad woman who you fully expected to glare at you with all the self-righteousness of an offended woman, instead she simply frown and head back inside the tent.

You notice some runes flaring up in the cotton, the complete and total lack of sounds or murmur coming from inside the thing tells you that this magic muffle everything coming from inside that thing; how very handy.

Then Ismael reemerge, throwing the drape to the side instead of going through them, allowing you a good vision inside; there’s not a single piece of furniture beside three chairs, one of them occupied by the long haired High general who is slowly sipping a clear liquid from a small, open bowl as he spare a glance toward you, the corner of his mouth visibly smirking.

‘’Fine, then we’ll do this as fast as possible. Leila, you’ll be entering too’’

The somber blond Purifier merely nod and, without further ado, Ismael step back inside and you forcefully shove Mylen forward, the half-succubus hip wings brush against the tent as she rapidly furl them and you decide to ignore it in favor of leading your prize in front of the High General and sit her down as you rapidly take place at her side, the two of you now facing the relaxed High General slowly tasting his alcohol, his back to the exit of the tent now occupied by Leila as she keep a hand on the Holy Sword at her hip, her eyes glaring at you with total indifference ,but also extreme interest while behind you, the armored Ismael take an obvious preparatory stance in case Mylen tries anything.

‘’Fancy seeing you again, little Shieffer’’

Lex finally breaks the silence, taking another sip.

At this, Hieronymus chuckle and, pouring another cup in the bowl, he hand it toward Mylen who simply glare at him, then the alcohol, silently and finally, he hand the bowl at you and you cross his gaze and find yourself slightly intimidated by his strangely peaceful smile and emotions of steels.

Would he actually poison the thing…? That’s a dubious question; this man is no fool, he knows you’re a mage and entering Focus get rid of any and all toxin in your body, in hindsight you have more to lose by not accepting the gesture and so, you gently pick up the red little bow, or cup you aren’t certain how to call it, and drink the fruity alcohol, immediately recognizing it as the same thing he made you drink the day of your encounter.

You only meant a little sip but… the way the liquid went down your throat felt great and you found yourself drinking it all before giving back the open mug, your gesture earn you a nod and, slowly, Hieronymus pour another drink and gesture toward Mylen who is stubbornly refusing, crossing her arm like a child and gesture no to the drink.

He spoke with a tone of utmost neutrality, glaring at Mylen with insistence and clear intimidation, his smile all but fake while behind you, you hear a small metallic movement as your hand ball in a fist the moment Mylen eyes fall on his, the two of them exchanging a long, silent glare as, finally, the long, raven haired maiden let out a ‘’tsk’’ and take the chalice and drink it all in one go, making very sure to avoid spilling any of the precious liquid anywhere else and roughly shoving it back in his hand.

You cross your arms and stop for a moment, eyeing the High General with suspicion as his smirk morph into an outright smile, the man goes as far as rubbing his chin while alternating between you and Mylen, you can’t help but think that every single movement of his is calculated, but he doesn’t answer your assumption, thus you continue with a question of your own while Mylen, of course, grows silent once more, her simple presence at your side strengthen you more than anything else.

‘’Tell me, how do you think I captured her?"

You spare a glance behind you, toward Ismael, the she-knight seem to be observing you with great intensity but you can’t detect a hint of magic and, of course, Leila at the front is just as stoic and looking at you with the same kind of induced indifference that leave you cold and uncomfortable.

How in the… It’s a good thing you’ve learn how to conceal surprise outburst, your surprise consist merely of a frown, prompting the High General to chuckle as he wave his hand dismissively.

You spare a glance toward said monster, Mylen doesn’t appear phased or caring of anything around her but every single one of her sense is alert and stretched to its paroxysm, she look just about ready to burst out and nail the High General in the face; she’s never been someone to find easiness in these types of situations and now, of course, might probably one of the worst she had the displeasure of living through thank to this charismatic young man turning his entire sarcastic intimidation toward the two of you.

You suspect the fact he might bring you trouble is slowly enraging her.

You spare a single glance toward Mylen as you try fishing for some half-truth, you don’t know how or even if this man has the possibilities of detecting lies, however he is very intent in looking at you in the eyes and your pride force you to oblige, you don’t see any kind of magical flickering or runes flashing deep in his gaze, your experience with that spirit healer taught you a valuable lesson and thus, you’ll keep yourself on your guard and avoid any kind of hypnotism; who know what Hieronymus Lex is capable of?

You can’t pinpoint the man attention at all.

Hieronymus speak up gently and get out of his chair, almost prompting you to stand up as well but you decide to opt for patience and sit beside Mylen while keeping an eye on Lex who, slowly, start walking to your left and soon enough, out of your field of view, this time prompting Mylen to glare at him as you face forward, settling your emotions and looking at Leila who… has turned her back to you? She seems to be looking outside

How strange, the mask that she previously kept on so religiously has also found itself in her hand, which quickly disappears in a large pocket of her pouch.

Hieronymus speak from behind you, his voice neither far nor close and you spare a glance to see him beside Ismael, the stoic woman is simply keeping silent and gazing – not glaring- at you without the slightest hint of emotions, your turn also somehow prompted the High General to start walking back to his chair.

And the next few moments happen very, very fast.

You hear the cutting of wind as a body move at what can only be described as extreme speed, immediately flaring your sense as a knife fly toward your jugular, much too fast for you to react!

The best scream and thanks to its help, you manage to grip the metal in your palm before your throat is sliced proper, it didn’t feel like an invasion but more like an act of desperation, your entire left hand feel numb and tingly yet you still manage to have enough sensation to know your gripping something sharp, yet it isn’t piercing your skin.

Of course, Mylen didn’t simply sit idly by and that’s when you realize that she fell into the High General trap; your bodyguard spring upward and nail the man with a prodigious uppercut followed by a shoulder shove, sending him sprawling on the ground roughly and she whirl to catch Ismael punch, grunting in pain as metal meet flesh then block the upward knee strike with her own, then nail Ismael with a nasty head-butt on the nose, the helmet of the she-knight being open for her face. Unfortunately that didn’t seem to register with the blue haired gal and she shove the succubus who quickly find herself encircled by a large rectangle of golden shield, an effective transparent tomb that rob her of any potential movement.

Clearly, this looked rehearsed.

‘’You…’’

Mylen growl, Leila simply shakes her head, her veins shining in bright gold.

‘’Pheew, got a mean punch… and stood your ground with Ismael, you’ve got what it take to take down Wilmarina that’s for sure’’

Hieronymus rise while rubbing his jaw, his face doesn’t look the least bit displeased, in fact, you’d say he’s downright joyous.

‘’Now then, guess I’ve finally got my answer as for your relation, sorry for taking this obnoxious road but I don’t like beating around the bush’’

With the most relaxed tone conceivable, the High General goes back to his seat while Mylen smash her fists against the shields.

‘’WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST TRY TO PULL!?’’

That has to be the most unique way of interrogating someone you’ve seen, you realize just now that you are embracing Focus but, behind, the looming shadow of the She-Knight convince you to not attempt anything funny.
