For House and Dominion: Neeran War QuestYou are Sonia Reynard, Attack Wing Leader and Knight of the House of Jerik-Dremine! You command the Third Attack Wing, one of the elite units of the House, composed of fast hard hitting Cruisers, Frigates and a few remaining Corvettes.Together with the Expeditionary fleets of the other Houses and Factions you've relocated to the Pandora Galaxy Cluster to help stave of invasion by the Neeran Empire.Thought by many to be a break away group from the isolationist Neeran living within Republic Space this has turned out to be false. The Isolationists are in fact the rogue element, having fled the Neeran Empire more than four thousand year ago. Their kin have come in search of them and not for the first time. The two Neeran incursions in the decades after the Faction Wars were little more than reconnaissance in force. To help beat back this invasion and defend against other external threats, the Factions have taken it upon themselves to revitalise the concept of the Factions Alliance. The new Alliance military will exist to protect signatories from external threats. While the organization is in its infancy they hope to provide the most advanced equipment and weaponry possible to those with the skills to make the best use of it.You've been extended an invitation to join the Factions Alliance military but are reluctant to do so lest you be stuck fighting on the front lines until your death.Last week you continued your sweep of one of the Dwarf Galaxies in the Pandora Cluster and in the process captured a number of installations that could be of use to you and your allies.
H&D time is here. Yay!
>>26860638FOR HOUSE AND DOMINION!
http://houseanddominion.wikia.com/wiki/HouseAndDominion_Wikihttp://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=House%20and%20DominionA Neeran HLV had captured a mining base and begun converting it into a shipyard capable of producing corvettes. While incomplete when the Marines took it, and lacking programing for the Neeran equipment, there is enough here that DHI could convert it into a small but advanced shipyard.Coming to an agreement via local PCCG Militia commander Major Firth, you hope that this location could be a potential windfall for the House. While Jerik-Dremine will not directly control the planet or ground side facilities DHI is one of the House's more important companies. A 100 year lease is already being drawn up and you expect it to be officially rammed through any day now thanks to offering the PCCG improved purchasing options on new assault corvettes.Liberating an old stasis prison long taken over by slavers, you've decided to relocate its modular components to the site of the future shipyard to provide some much needed space. The base expansion should allow DHI to bring in more specialists to get the site operational. The Modular Station that the Wing captured is now being relocated into orbit both to provide protection and act as a cargo transfer hub with the mining base.Lastly and most importantly Katherine Drake and Lorraine Day's section of 2nd Squadron managed to capture a pair of fully intact Neeran corvettes. Both of them were thrown clear of the station section they were docked to before crews could board them. The station itself has been captured and will be handed over to the PCCG militia. You expect that they'll hold onto it until the surviving station owners return from mercenary work in South Reach as part of the occupation forces there. One of the captured ships has already been handed off to the Alliance while House technicians continue to analyze the second one.>+1 to all ship R&D for 2 years
>>26860638Finally I find one before it gets started
>>26861053its around the same time every week unless stated otherwise
>>26861221I'm in a different time zone it's like 5 am were I'm
You suspect that Knight Ia'sro Kharbos is going to be a pain in the neck or in a few other places unless you get rid of him soon. People are going to find out one way or another that he's alive and with bounties offered by both House Kharbos and House Ber'helum you could have mercs, pirates or even Neeran trying to rescue or kill him within a few days. If you'd handed the prison over to the Militia you could have just left him in the stasis pod and let him become someone elses problem. Part of you wants to challenge him to a non-lethal duel of some kind to decide his fate because it'll be fun. You never get to duel anyone! Well, except for that one quick draw bastard back in South Reach that stunned you."Yeah, I'd better find a way to get him the hell out of here."Engineering an escape attempt while conducting a prisoner transfer seems like the best bet but at the same time the chances of it going wrong and people getting killed cant be discounted.>How will you stage his escape?
>>26861238>>How will you stage his escape? We have a knight who just came back from a highly complicated and demanding black ops mission. Maybe we should ask him for help?
>>26861238I was of the opinion to turn him over to house Ber'helum but if everyone else wants to let him escape I would suggest having his stasis pod "malfunction" after we load him onto one of the mercenary corvettes which then goes rogue and heads for Ber'helum space
>>26861372Sounds like a plan. Alternatively, we can have one of our mercs turn out to be less than reliable.
>>26861238I'm thinking that Sonia ends up in a room with the Good Knight when his 'sabotaged' stasis pod wakes him up. 'Not knowing' who he is, our medic cares to him with us present. When he grabs our sidearm and stuns the medic, taking Sonia hostage, we have no choice but to place a priority, encoded call to his House, we won't have much of a choice but to depart with our vessel to meet one of their vessels so he can make his escape. If his House were to compensate us for the stress of such an event in light of the Ruling House's decree of no infighting, no one could put blame upon the unsuspecting, trusting Knight Reynard in light of such a 'madman' threatening her life?
>>26861372"Ecord, I need to make somebody disappear. ""You're the one with the camo system on their armor sir.""No I mean escape." You reiterate. "Someone that you found the other day.""Oh. Uh... sabotage a stasis unit to shut off after a few hours in transit? Sir with all due respect most of my plans end up with a lot of people stunned or dead by the end of them. Which I suppose is fine if you don't mind the crew being killed by the escapee.">>26861395>mercenary corvettes>>26861397>one of our mercs turn out to be less than reliable. As it just so happens most of the contracts for the mercenaries currently in your unit will be ending within the next couple of days. A few of them would like to pool their earnings to purchase a couple of the reserve Attack Corvettes.>>26861468This is certainly one way.
>>26861578>Which I suppose is fine if you don't mind the crew being killed by the escapeeಠ_ಠ"How long, exactly, have we been working together?"
>>26861622"Sabotaging a pistol so that it only fires on stun is one way to go about it but there's nothing to stop an escapee from picking up another person's weapon which isn't similarly disabled. You would have to brief the person you're letting break out beforehand or disable all the small arms on the ship. How suspicious is that going to look? The easier we make it for someone to break out without casualties the more likely it'll look like an inside job. If we don't care about the possibility of being investigated later and evidence found we could make it quite easy."
>>26861238>>How will you stage his escape? How do emergency teleporters work? Would the knight actually have to escape from the ship, or could we just have him access on of these, and then give the coordinates of the planet he ended up on to his house?
>>26861745"This is a lot more complicated than I hoped it would be. Anyway, I appreciate your advice, Ecord."
>>26861787He could reach one of the crew station emergency teleporters to escape. They're set to automatically land you on (mostly) habitable worlds using a combination of recently updated Navigation records and SCIENCE! The capsule itself is built to make falls from altitude survivable and will float in liquids. As long as the part of the ship it was launched from survives it should be possible to determine where a capsule was sent. If the section is destroyed you'll have to determine where the ship was when the device was activated and check the closest planets. It's not always an exact science and sometimes pods are never found. Or you find them a few centuries after like you did with the one with the dead crew inside. It's certainly a viable if someone chaotic escape method. Thankfully many habitable planets within the Pandora cluster were colonized in this method in the Second Faction War meaning it should be easy to find a way off most worlds.>and then give the coordinates of the planet he ended up on to his house?Did you want to take any measures to ensure nobody else found out you gave them that data? If so what?
>>26862000>Did you want to take any measures to ensure nobody else found out you gave them that data? If so what?No clue. To be honest, I'm not sure why we're even making this so complicated.
>>26862000Send the data physically from one of the attack cruisers in reserve (On a delayed timer to ensure it happens when we are not in the same system) when we return to top off on munitions, in addition to all of the computer efforts we use to cover our tracks. And ensure we launder whatever reward money we get competently, and with an appropriate delay of delivery.
>>26862098>To be honest, I'm not sure why we're even making this so complicated. It looks like a few people want to have their cake and eat it too. The Majority wanted the Knight to be gone in such a way that Sonia's Career wouldn't be negatively impacted. (Which we're still missing a suggestion for a plan from start to finish)And yet some people still want to get payed for something they don't want to ever be associated with.If nobody can come up with any plans I suppose I can set up some multiple choice.
>>26862320as the 'Sonia hostage' plan person, my plan's goal was simply to minimize potential collateral, put Sonia in control behind closed doors, but in a situation where its reasonable to assume she isn't in control [a hostage of a crazy guy].The only reason I suggested we give him back to his own House is that logically, it is what he'd likely do. Arrange to get back somewhere safe using the 'hostage' he has. After all, none of our Marines would want to be the guy that orders an assault that gets the Knight Commander killed, especially when we're saying 'just follow his orders and don't contact anyone or he shoots me, stand down.'If he or his House tosses something our way as a 'bribe' to keep us from lodging a formal complaint or something, we can always refuse to save face. And we can be friends with the members of the other House, saying that asshole Knight put a gun to our head and threatened to kill us.Really, the biggest downsides I can see are our forces not obeying our command to comply with this guy or not getting a nasty enough bit of bruising to make the whole thing seem legit.
>>26862320It might be helpful to wait for the people who made the decision that lead to this course of action. It's not exactly a highly pressing matter Sonia needs to solve within the next 30 minutes.
Fuck it I still say just challenge him to a holosword fight or something.
>>26862560You do have a point.Follow up from 2 weeks ago on research projects>What about the anti-veckron/longevity drug? That's going under black ops projects. So far you havent touched the stuff other than to retrieve it from your safe on the EX-K when she was crippled. In other news, your personal warship has been completed and launched! And I still haven't found an artist at all interested in drawing it.With all of the primary systems having undergone testing before launch it should only take another day to complete the accelerated shakedown. Do you want it sent up to the front lines ASAP or moved to Dreminth?
>>26862768When does Space Discovery Channel have sharkweek?
>>26862768>DreminthWhat would be the advantage of doing that? I'm sorry if I'm missing something obvious.
>>26862792I'd guess they're busy with "Ancient Neerans" month right now.
>>26862792Five weeks ago.>>26862809It will take 3.5 weeks to get here which will mean more waiting and, depending on what happens, could mean returning home as shortly after it gets here.Leaving it at home for the moment means you wont be endangering a valuable possession that your House wouldn't be willing or able to replace. This early into the conflict you have yet to encounter any of the Neeran's larger ships.
>>26862986Okay, thanks. Let's keep it at home, in that case.
>>26862986We should probably meet it at home. Maybe DHI or the house in general could use the engineers that apparently come with the ship for something, as they're likely highly skilled.
Components from the prison are now starting to be relocated into orbit by salvage teams. It should be two more days before everything has been pulled. Reassembling it at the mining and shipyard site will take longer but now that your modular station has been moved into position that shouldn't be much of a problem. The main station sections have been assembled now, providing enough room for the Wing to dock. Repair options remain limited but that will change. The upper and lower arms should be assembled within another day or so. The current plan is to attach the false shipyard sections to the lower arm facing the planet so their interior space can be used for cargo storage. Going aboard with an escort you make a quick tour of the facilities. It's likely there wont be any shops or stores available for some time but you could encourage merchants to take an interest by telling the operations manager to keep rent low or offer start up bonuses.Returning to the ship you're greeted by a pair of your marines escorting a woman dressed like a down on their luck mercenary. One of the marines is holding a folded up holster that must belong to her."I heard you had some openings." says a vaguely familiar voice. "Cristina Pozzi reporting for duty."The pilot salutes and you can see her hand's been partially repaired with cybernetics in addition to sporting new scars on her face and arms. She was one of your Pilots in 2nd squadron and was presumed killed in action back in Lat'tham space.>What say?

>>26864388Lath'am was a long time ago, she could have better skill set than piloting now. We can use her as double agent on mercenary space stations, boarding team, ship thief, assassin, anything she might have done and is better at now (most likely survival at all costs is her best skill now). however, the minute we reactivate her and stick her in a uniform we could lose this new potential asset. Our she could be a shape shifter planted on our wing as a way to find out Intel on us. Maybe information leaked on some of the more questionable things we have acquired. She could be from the Terran or faction alliance to investigate us.
>>26864347Yeah, we haven't throw a huge drunken party in quite a while. Lets put out a notice that our station is looking for stores, especially bars, and that we'll offer a signing on bonus to the first 10 companies who secure a lease and open a store.

>>26864571Dude, less meta-gaming :<
>>26864571Your right, I wasn't there because these threads start at 2am for me. But I read the archive and know that ooc, but just because she survived doesn't mean she hasn't become rusty at piloting or gained other skills. Also survival doesn't mean she isn't now indebted to another house or faction for rescuing her and too pay them back she has to crush us. After all, we are doing so awesome we make others look lazy or incompetent.
>>26861238Just delegate the task to Ecord. Subtly tell him that we want this prisoner to escape and for there to be no hard questions directed towards us.If the Commander wants no part of this, I'm guessing neither do we.
>>26865199He'll put holes in our own people. That isn't very nice.

Something exploded when getting out of the capsule taking most of her hand with it and puncturing her suit. There was enough time to tie off the worst wound and stumble out before being overcome by smoke inhalation.Woke up, got shot, returned shot with interest, stole civilian clothes, passed out from injuries a few km away. Helped to med station by a local.Woke up 2 weeks later. Found out most med cloning stations on planet had been smashed. No ID, planetary coms smashed by a bombardment. Eventually got a job with mercs that had been sent in to conduct planetary assault since they now had a monopoly on "non-essential" cybernetics.Worked off most of the debt. Civilian coms reestablished only to find out invasion had started. Hitch a ride to Pandora cluster on a ship with a few hundred of the merc band aboard.Get access to merc network on arrival in cluster. Find 3rd Wing since you have active mercs in the unit still. There's more than that but she doesn't want to go into it.You joke about giving her an Adrenal cocktail to which she just looks at you oddly. "I thought you aren't supposed to mix Rrenol energy drinks with alcohol?""Just joking.">>26864778"You done any flying in your time away?""Yes s-sir, mostly smaller transports between orbit and ground stations. I did copilot an LST on a combat drop, and sim corvettes.>>26864571How would Sonia know that IC?
>>26865252>There's more than that but she doesn't want to go into it.Awww. My /tg/ quest instincts tell me she needs a hug, but I doubt it would be proper for Sonia to do that. Put a hand on her shoulder and tell her she can talk to us about anything if she wants to?
>>26865252>More than that but she doesn't want to go into itAs her Commander, she's going to need to tell us or Intel everything at some point, probably before we can put her back into a ship. It isn't that we don't trust her, its that we need to be sure we're not going to send someone into battle that isn't fit for the stress. We'll be sure to get her the money to pay off her debt, though. Sonia has more than enough, I imagine, and helping Cristina with that is a good first/second step to letting her know she can trust Sonia.
>>26865226Not our people, just some Mercs.
>>26865624They're on our side, doing something non-shady. So it's still not nice. I'd like to avoid it, if possible.
A few of 2nd squadron's old pilots stop by with drinks or to say hello and soon its turned into a much larger party. Pozzi is obviously nervous but is dealing with it for the most part until Daska shows up then everything goes quiet as the two start a staring contest. Finally Daska says "You dodged left didn't you?""Y-yes sir." Pozzi admits."What did I tell you about that?" "Not to do it so often?""And what happens when you do?""I get shot." "you get shot." they both say at the same time.Daska (increasingly referred to as the "Ice Queen" by her pilots as of late) walks over and gives Pozzi a hug resulting in many "Awww"s from the other pilots."Oh shut up." Says the Dro'all woman in response. "Well, are you going to be back in Second squadron? I have three Mercenaries that are about to be leaving. Goodness knows Drake is going to need the backup if she keeps finding stations""Hey!" Shouts Lorraine. "I helped.">>26865436>As her Commander, she's going to need to tell us or Intel everything at some point, probably before we can put her back into a ship. She'll go through debriefing with one of the counselors and someone from intel.
With the party over that turns out to be the last of the good news for the day. It's bad enough that in another couple of days most of your Mercenaries are going to be taking off for parts unknown. Now the engineers tell you that most of the Power Cell Armor is down for maintenance or being rebuilt.Getting hold of Ecord you head over to one of the armories servicing the LST's.Most of your Power Cell Armor is damaged in some way. The majority of it is not severe but it's been accumulating faster than it can be repaired. You have too much armor and not enough technicians and equipment to repair it fast enough."We're down to 1/4 of our previous reserves.""Why didn't you tell me it was this bad?" you ask the other Knight as you depart the ship, headed for one of the Escort carriers where two more LST's are docked."I honestly didn't know it was this bad." Admits Ecord "The reports I've been getting have shown the squads at operational readiness. Most of these suits can still be used in an emergency. On the EX-K it was relatively easy to move back and forth between your ship and the LST's because there was always one docked on the spine of the ship. It was easier to keep track of, especially since we didn't have as much armor back then."As the House has been putting more suits of Power Cell Armor on the front lines its been difficult to keep up the necessary shipboard infrastructure to repair all of them quickly. Most of the time small amounts of damage are easily fixed and when fighting the pirates you had the chance to recover more suits. Fighting Neeran is taking a heavier toll on the equipment and isn't providing you with extras. Kt. Ecord has suggested splitting up the remaining armor with a small number in each regular Marine squad acting as heavy support. Or if you want you can keep the Heavy Marines in a separate unit which would then move to assist regulars when they run into trouble.

The same goes with repair equipment. Everything is in demand and they just cant build it fast enough. No Sonia throwing money at the screen will not make them build faster at this point. What they do have available are some more prototypes from the modular power cell system. They can trade you some for the more damaged suits that you currently have. You remember reading the test reports on the previous prototypes your people were given. They were not so great, having some rather glaring deficiencies. The armor had been compromised around the cell module ports to make integration easier.>and also look to see if we could hire some local techs to increase repair timeThere are very few people in the area that have experience with this type of armor. If so what forces will you be taking?>Look into exotic weapons to make up for crap armor that Sonia can buy in bulk, the pandora cluster must have some."Are there any exotic weapon systems we haven't really tried out with our troops before?" You ask on the shuttle ride back to the ship."Well there are Rovinar E-Beams but they take a lot of power so you usually only see them on ships or tanks, and in atmosphere they're fairly ineffective. Stun nets which I doubt could get through power armor but might still be useful against the regular stuff. What else?"You notice there's a young Marine on the shuttle trying to get the Knight's attention but at the same time doesn't want to interrupt."What is it Marine?" You ask."Sir! I know of some exotic weaponry if that's what you're looking for."Shuriken and Flechette weapons fire flat mono blades shaped like a circular disc or a triangular dart. They're prone loading and ricochet problems, along with the potential of the blades fragmenting. The least common of these is the Needle variant, firing thin 10-15cm long metal spikes. These are generally unliked because of the small amount of damage they cause to a target.Cryoguns & Toxguns fire AP slugs filled with super cooled materials, usually liquid nitrogen but sometimes far more toxic compounds. They're an extremely specialist weapon only useful in certain situations. The cooling units continuously draw power making battery life a problem. These weapons are often modified to fire uncooled payloads such as poisons.>Cont.
>>26869815>Needle rifleProblem with Neerans is that after you get though the armor they're still fucking giant muscular bastards, but a few of these in the hands of marksmen targeting joints and necks for immobilization might be useful.Plus it shoots four-inch spikes, which is cool as fuck.
Hammer weapons. Extreamly rare and only used by those with power armor, some are equipped with micro rocket thrusters or repulsors to increase acceleration. As a melee weapon hammers fall into the category of weapons that would be suited to ship boarding actions but are too large and ungainly to be used in that role.Minigun. A small caliber ballistic weapon miniguns have an insanely high rate of fire which will consume most ammo stockpiles in seconds. Because of this most modern ones use smaller cartriges and longer barrels if at all possible while trying to keep rate of fire low enough to make magazines last. Most of these weapons are used by troops with supportive armor systems to handle the weight of the weapon and ammo. Some Knights in the Dominion are known to use them in combination with their power armor.Phase Repeater/Gatling Phase rifle. A tripple barreled weapon built out of phase rifle's, this system is commonly used as a sentry gun since it lacks ammunition and can be set to stun. Requiring an external power source it faces limitations similar to the Minigun. The Phase Stream Gun is a larger barreled phase rifle with an integrated magazine and improved cooling systems. While it can be fired in bursts or pulses like a normal rifle its main feature is that it can maintain a continuous beam for several seconds at a time.Man Portable Heavy Plasma Tazer. Operating on principles similar to the starship grade Phased Plasma Channel Discharge Beam, the plasma tazer is far less impressive. While it seems capable of downing most infantry scale targets in its range, each shot expends an entire power cell making the rate of fire very slow. Range can vary depending on atmospheric conditions and aiming can be tricky as a result. Its use against vehicles is limited. This weapon reached limited production before its primary factories were destroyed in the Republic Civil War.There was another one I wanted to include but I cant remember it.
>>26870153Wish we had a heavier suit of armor so we could roll with a minigun
>Sonic, repulsor, incendiary, what else am I missing?Sorry, didn't realise your allies were the ones to have scanned that sector then I drew a blank for a bit. After getting back to base you decide to check up on the new neighbours before your mercenaries take their vacation pay and go.Jumping into one of the systems that the Republic Frigate squadron had already investigated it doesn't take long to locate the logistics base. Located on a small planetoid caught in the L5 Lagrange point of a close orbiting gas giant, it appears to be tidal locked to the system's star. It makes sense as you can detect solar collectors on the surface of the illuminated side. Small automated barges make runs to the gas giant and back hauling fuel."Dominion ships this is Parvaks Inc Security, we've detected you in system. Please state your intentions." Asks a monotone voice over the com channel."This is Knight Captain Sonia Reynard. My unit is going to be operating out of a nearby sector for the foreseeable future so I felt it would be appropriate to greet the neighbours. My unit didn't get a chance to swing through here before now and I was hoping to meet with the Administrator.""Thank you Captain but we're not prepared to receive visitors at this time. >>26870885Diplomatic? You wound me, sir. I am merely being a neighborly neighbor and come to meet and greet. I have no expectations of grand receptions, over priced buffets, and over inflated ego's chatting incessantly about nothing of importance. You might say I'm here to borrow a simple cup of sugar.... Although if that sugar is tainted I might have to be a good neighborly neighbor and "help" clean out your closets.
"I'm sorry Captain but we don't allow visitors here. This is a sealed facility. Only Parvaks Inc employees are permitted within after a thorough screening process. Up until recently the location of this site was not even public knowledge. If you wish to conduct business with Parvaks Inc please contact one of our main branche offices."The security officer then gives you contact information and the location of the nearest office located aboard one of the larger commercial/hab stations in the area. It's in the same system as one of the shipyards on the upper right of the map. Will you be pressing the issue with your current forces. (Lets say a couple squadrons.) Calling in Militia support, talking to their nearest office or doing some combination of things?
>>26871745Well if they are big enough to have branch offices then maybe we shouldn't be poking that anthill if we want to be good neighbours. Contact them officially and also ask the PCCG on the side if they consider that company suspicious.
>>26872791This.Might as well learn more about them before we make a move on them.
>Contact them officially and also ask the PCCG on the side if they consider that company suspicious. You send off a message to the Major then contact Parvaks Inc. They' specialise in supply manufacturing. Everything from fuel storage tanks to shipboard recycling and waste processing systems. Supposedly they're trying to diversify and up until its discovery by that Republic patrol they had hoped to keep that one manufacturing site hidden from competitors so they could conduct R&D.Given the Neeran threat you request that an inspection team be allowed to visit the station. Citing secrecy concerns they dont really want anyone going aboard and dont trust the militia either since it could be easily infiltrated. With your Wing being from the Dominion they really dont want your troops visiting the station. You off handedly remark you'd be farther ahead bribing them which elicits a response."Knights are generally rich arent they?""Not all but most." You admit."If you agree to sign a non disclosure agreement with some rather high penalties for breaking confidentiality we could allow you to visit the station."You'll have to think about it.The major responds to you message shortly after. "The Company has a solid reputation for the equipment and supplies they manufacture but like most that set up operations out here they want to get away from any oversight. I'd need evidence before boarding them which is fine if you spot Neeran or slaver affiliated ships arriving at their station but until then I doubt I could get support for checking the place."Will you be signing the NDA and going aboard? Forcibly boarding the station on your own, sending an infiltration team aboard, or perhaps setting up covert surveillance to watch the system?

Returning to the ship you have to wait an hour until a representative can board a ship owned by the company and head out.Jumping back to the system in question your ships take up position 1 AU away from the base. From there you take a shuttle over, following the light transport through the main doors and setting down on a nearby pad. Exiting the shuttle you head over to meet the company Rep you'll be touring the station with. A Kavarian Female, she's dressed more like a lawyer"Greetings, I'm Reslara Cerer." She glances over to Rufaro who is keeping her face plate polarized making it impossible to tell exactly who is inside. "They said you would have a bodyguard. Still, I have to insist that you turn off any mission recording devices while inside. This is for your own safety. You're less likely to accidentally violate your NDA later."You turn to your bodyguard who looks back at you then shrugs."If you'll follow me we'll begin our tour."Entering the base you make your way through some fairly standard corridors until reaching a lift stop that can reach anywhere inside the station."What did you want to see first Captain?"[ ] Manufacturing[ ] Materials processing[ ] R&D[ ] Hab blocks[ ] Cargo transfer[ ] Security[ ] Other

The monitoring center itself must rival the station's Ops center in size. It looks like they scaled up a basic Kavarian bridge so that they could fit twice as many people inside. The room is only half full but everyone is working, most of them watching their consoles and flipping back and forth between areas of the station.Cerer lets you look over a few of the video feeds from different areas. "What is that?" You ask pointing to one of the monitors showing R&D."That's one of our main research laboratories.""No I mean, there was something odd about the screen a moment ago." you say.Reslara Cerer looks more closely at the screen then at the security officer manning the station before slapping the back of his head."OW! What was that for?!" exclaims the junior officer."You were told not to loop the security footage, that we needed this inspection to go smoothly. Report to your supervisor, you're suspended without pay for the rest of the week."With that taken care of Cerer turns back to you. "I apologise for this incident. I'm certain you'll want to see those parts of the station yourself now."While yes you would like to see their R&D labs first you want to have a look at Cargo transfer. The transfer areas are enormous. There's room for 36 container Modules like those used on the Molly to be docked at any given time. Another six docking pits are outfitted to handle Y-Type transports then finally there are the smaller bays like where you landed that can deal with light starships, transports and shuttles. Much of it is in Zero G to cut down on wasted space."Any recent damage that's been repaired?""Just from the loading cranes. One of our teams put too much cargo in a container and threw off the balance of a crane causing a collision.""Does that happen often?""No, accidents cost money to clean up. But at the same time it isn't necessary for us to release accident reports to the general public or shareholders because of the clandestine nature of the site."
This is the picture I was looking for.>>26880083The research labs are a combination of the usual sealed and windowed clean rooms and larger areas with industrial grade manufacturing machinery. A few things you recognise like the multi stage reactor assembly used by most ships, though you cant always tell what they're trying to improve on. Some area are remote viewing only, like one where they're trying to increase the amount and ease at which fusion fuel can be stored for long periods.Entering one area you see an increased number of Rovinar employees in one set of clean rooms. "What's going on here?""Several Factions conducts outsourcing to assist with some projects. We're currently working on improving stasis field miniaturization but it's a slow process. This site may have only contributed 1% to the advancement seen on the past fifty years. Hopefully we can expand our product line now that they're small enough be be carried by medics for battlefield use.">So far you havent seen any real signs of Neeran activity, did you want to do anything else while here? >>26880429>>26880629A Grand tour sounds like a grand idea!
>>26880429>Stasis field miniaturization. Is that project open to outside investors with historically good ties with the Rovinar?
"We've increased shield output of the station around the main entrance by half. Doing so for the entire planetoid isn't feasible at the moment. Our scans of inbound cargo and size of the security force have been heightened as well, though I cant disclose the number of additional troops we're now maintaining.A Mercenary unit from one of the surrounding areas is also being payed to maintain a reaction force should we be attacked. Originally they were to have been unaware of our exact location until needed but that's changed now."While on the way over to the manufacturing zone you ask a question that's been nagging you since the moment you saw the R&D labs. "I don't know if this will violate my agreement but are any of those stasis field projects open to outside investors that have good ties with the Rovinar?" "Its possible. If you want I can have our people contact your lawyers and financial consultants."Manufacturing is much as you expected, and largely a match for what you had seen from the security center. Multiple production lines of all shapes and sizes stacked in three dimensions to make the best use of available space. Really in a worst case scenario this asteroid could produce just about everything you would need to keep your Wing in the field. They don't build full sublight drives, weapons or armor though. Materials processing is split up into three areas. The first section is responsible for fuel concerns, the second for mining and processing materials from the planetoid's interior, and lastly is for bio mater from station operations. The Hab blocks are sections that would have normally been attached to the much larger hab stations like those in orbit ot Loran II. There is some space between them, and holographic projectors light up the ceiling to give the impression of sky above."The Hab blocks are the one part of the station where everything follows the same alignment. It helps reduce psychological impact of work within the asteroid."
"I hope the inspection was satisfactory Captain?" Cerer asks as you return to the docks. Checking the time you wish it hadn't taken as long but there's not much to be done about that now. Breath rushing out of you, you cant even scream. >That's not good. We definitely need to do something about it. I would hate to lose anybody just because there wasn't enough space on the lifeboats. The sad new is that most ships were not designed to incorporate emergency teleporters and have been modified after the fact. It's far too expensive to have them in every section of the ship so crew will have to run to the nearest capsule in battle. This isnt always possible for members of damage control or engineering teams that might be spread out trying to keep systems operational. Some newer ships try to maximise the number of crew stations located inside each capsule like those on the bridge of a ship. This still wont save everyone but redule losses of senior personnel that are harder to train. As your body double, part time bodyguard and now a power armor specialist Ms Rufaro actually gets payed rather well. Provided she still has time for training of course. She still isnt completely confident in her abilities in the Recon suit, though from what you've seen she's fairly proficient with it. In some areas she's better than you with it but lacks much of your... bravado. While you've been conducting search and rescue operations your allies have finished scanning the remaining sectors down. Mike's unit located what seems to be another logistics base, this one built into a set of asteroids that had been connected with support braces, cables and anything else that could help hold the rubble pile together. The Corvette squadrons from House Ceres found an armed asteroid base being used to produce weapons systems, mostly phase cannons of one type or another. The company running it sells directly to the black market though they have been known to supply weapons to the PCCG militia in the past through intermediaries. The crews are going over mission recordings now. Before taking care of that base there's one thing you need to set in motion. While a large part of you would like to toss Ia'sro Kharbos aboard a ship with as shady a crew as possible and let him find his own way out there's just too much that can go wrong. You're going to wake the knight up in a secure location with no possible way for someone to listen in, brief him on how his upcoming escape is going to go then sabotage the stasis pod. You've got a spare ship picked out to make a cargo run which already has emergency teleporters installed. It should be the last run with cargo from the site of that old slaver base so this is going to be cutting it close. Will you be briefing him yourself or getting one of your more trustworthy knights to do it. A better question is, will you or whoever let the troublemaker see who's helping him bust out? It's been awhile. Part of you has some stage fright but it's the sort that disappears the instant you get the first word out. And that word is "CRAZY HAS-ANN IS HERE TO OFFER INCREDIBLE DEALS ON STARSHIP TORPEDOES AND STARSHIP TORPEDO ACCESSORIES, OUR FINELY AGED TORPEDOES ARE THE BEST ON THE MARKET ET COME AT PRICES THAT WILL BLOW YOU AWAY.Do you need a torpedo? Of Course you need a Torpedo, Everyone needs one. I am Crazy Has-Ann and I have a Torpedo specially for you. Torpedoes have thrice the power of a missile with only a third of the blast radius, and between you me and the bulkhead look absolutely beautiful in the magazine. Come you must see my torpedoes, I have Varieties for every occasion. I have your standard Torpedo fare in a variety of makes an models, all only slightly use! "Uh, you're allowed to move weapons around the cargo zones. If you want our operations manager can station someone from the crew there to provide secure video and Holo links to the stall you'd be using. There's a fee but its a small one."With that out of the way you bring your ships in to dock. The Corvettes land in the smaller berths while the cruiser with its bothersome wingspan has to dock at the end point of one of the Rings. Once you're aboard your people are asked to have their weapons and gear checked for radiation leaks or energy bleed. One of the more damaged suits of power cell armor has a defective cell thats spitting magnetic fields and causing static shocks so he's asked to have the suit turned off for transport to one of the repair shops.

Your torpedo stockpile is moved into a cargo bay in the docking ring and soon someone from station operations arrives with a scanner and some cameras. Another shows you the way to a stall farther into the station. You dont think your plasma pistol would have cleared the anti-tank weapon restrictions for the inner areas.Setting up shop you find that the promenade level you're on is actually rather well populated. Well, time to continue the show! Stepping up on a small crate you point to the holographic image of the torpedoes in the cargo bay."Welcome, new and valued customers!" You shout, amplified by your suit speakers."Are you worried about hostile ships all day? You ask. There's a gap in the coverage of the weapon scanners for the upper meter or so of the ceiling in the cargo area. If you throw on an extra repulsor belt and take it easy you should be able to climb along the ceiling of the cargo bay and from there into the station interior. >>26907863I really want us to start using the xray rifle since we have training. After all the leading house uses them with the recon armor, why can't we?After that I'd say monoblade and whatever. We can replace some of those grenades with ammo for the rpg launcher.
>>26908206Also, we can skip on the heavy because it's too bulky. Get one of the SMG's so we can use it for covering fire and holster it on the lower back like the shotguns from Mass Effect. Plasma Pistol for those tough to crack or when we really want to create fireballs to scare people to death.
>>26907968>>26908072Be aware that they're listed as secondary melee because you normally carry your HF-Blade.SoCarbine for silent work plasma pistolmix of grenades + ammo?Sound good?Time for some silent movement. You throw on the repulsor belt normally used by Marines for short duration work on higher gravity worlds. They're not something you want squads constantly deploying with because of their cost, short battery life and vulnerability to damage from enemy fire. You turn on your camo then follow Valeri off the ship. He tells the others that Crazy Has-Ann is going to be staying on the ship for awhile.Moving off to a quieter area you turn up the suit repulsors and maglocks and climb up one of the walls. Your suit might be able to handle this for a bit on its own but after being knocked around by a few extra atmosphere on that Neeran ship you're not taking any chances.Roll 1d20 for infiltration

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t53cOiXkyRAHeading through the cargo area is slow going but with a few clear structural support beams around you're able to risk walking in a low crouch towards the area with the weapon scanners. They keep the ceiling around the security checkpoint nice and clean too by the looks of it. There are detectors scattered around that you're certain would have a clear view of you entering this way if it wasnt for that system glitch you resolved on your first boarding attempt. Thank goodness for that. Before exiting the checkpooint you spot a pair of open topped weapons storage bins. Stealing a GP mine from one you set it to the same frequency your claymores use and slap it inside the second bin. Should create a distraction later that your people could use to get through this checkpoint.Heading for the other sections you're able to move about rather freely and get a look at some of the other berths. Of the six suspected slaver berths on this side of the station three of them show signs of stasis pods having been brought through recently or equipment needed to move them. You also see some of the same crates the slave chips were being stored in on the other station.[ ] Board one of the ships[ ] Investigate crates when clear[ ] Try to locate stasis pods[ ] Sabotage station systems[ ] Other
>>26909089Investigate the crates when clear f where lucky we can find out if these are the crates were looking for
>>26909139These are not the crates you're looking for... move along. If we already have the HF-blade then I want the remote controlled wrist mounted rocket launcher since we keep rejecting to use our awesome xray gun. Might as well investigate the crates then move to sabotage the station. It was the reason I suggested sending an infiltration force to strike before we send out fleet into the combat in the first place.
>>26909225ha I didn't even realise what I wrote down till you said that
General Purpose Mine AKA "GP Mine"These are little more than an explosive puck with a sensor/reciever attached to the detonator. They are often used as tripmines or as an alternative to claymore mines when a less directed blast is required. The most common type is HE/Frag. They're disliked by most military organisations as other explosives are either cheaper or more precise.GP Mines are banned by some worlds because of their ease of use in terrorist attacks.>>26909139>>26909225Roll 1d10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqI3y9x4h3UWaiting until the coast is clear you climb down one of the walls in the storage area assigned to one of the slaver ships. Cracking open a crate sure enough you find slave chips, a few thousand of them. Taking a few as evidence you reseal the crate and get back up to the ceiling. A minute later a few gang members walk in with a cart to carry off some of the cargo. "Why are we stockpiling so many of these now?" Asks one."This whole Mercenary phase with the Warlords is sure to pass after a couple of years. When that happens, they're going to need plenty of these and people in place to use em.""Yeah but what about-""Look just don't touch anybody in the main ring okay?" With that recorded you head for the main shafts towards the central core. Cargo lifts and smaller passenger lifts are separate and you'd rather not try your luck in the more cramped ones. It takes awhile for someone with enough cargo comes along to use the larger ones and you end up having to avoid being squished by a giant crate but soon the lift is on its way down. A few of the cargo handlers small talk about creating a puzzle game revolving around moving crates before you finally reach the station core. How will you sabotage the station?[ ] Shields[ ] Main reactors[ ] Weapons[ ] Command & Control[ ] Sensors[ ] Other
>>26909693I'd say shields first so we don't have to waste SP torps and then try and hit the weapons systems after
>>26909693Sensors so they can't command and react to our fleet and their weaponry had to be line of sight iron sighted for firing.
>>26909826Then we can start a fire before our fleet arrives so they're busy dealing with an internal threat and fail to react to the external that they don't notice because sensors and emergency warnings are down.
>>26909826 theirs still the ships they will have sensors and they could pick us up just as fast as the station

[was it Arthur?]OH, right the Diamond expedition. Lets see...
>>26909875True, I'm not saying we can walk right up and dock with the station, but we can take out it's ability to coordinate attacks so each ship is now independent and can be routed easier. Also the weaponry in the station becomes less effective.
>>26909965Because of the size of the impact area the site is estimated to hold somewhere around 36,800,000,000 carats worth of usuable diamond. This is after processing of the ore. Arthur has already signed a contract with a mining company and bought rights to the site from the PCCG.
>>26910009>>26910009the ships still have coms they can still coordinate while fighting
>>26910224thanks for running this see you next week
>>26910811We're talking about a free port here... They're gona scatter when they realize the port isn't coordinating defenses and it will be every man for himself. Sure some may coordinate together, but it will be a lot of smaller groups rather than 1 large group.
I'd say hit the shields first and then go for the CC. Shields because once those are down the we can neutralize it's weapons fairly easily with direct fire or normal torpedoes. And then CC because without that they will have no chance of organizing a defence against us. Since this is a free port most of the ships will likely surrender or scatter and we are specifically here for the slavers.
>>26910957>>26910224>>26910009>>26910811I say we sabotage shields. But not in getting them down, in keeping them up so that no ship can escape the bubble. Once we get a surround, even under weapon fire, they wont be able to escape. And if we can sabotage weapons, sensors or command and control next our ships should be able to pull it off without much problem. At which point they have two options. Surrender or die.
>>26911951If you give an enemy no where to retreat to and corner them with a fight free or death situation they will fight even harder to get free. I don't agree with this
>>26912313they can surrender.a lot of them are not slavers...
>>26912459Surrender to lose your ship or questionable cargo, end up in jail, or starting back from nothing because your reputation is more ruined after you let a boarding party see your top secret corporation cargo? I'd try and fight my way out over having my crew mutiny.
