You are Ssen, a Lamia raised by a human Paladin who adopted you after killing the ones who birthed you. You are grown now, and Father has passed on. After a great deal of work, you have become a Paladin like your Father, and now take up his duties.

You are accompanied by your best friend from childhood, the insect druid Tricia; Mage, a magic user who ran away from his family of cannibal raiders known as the Ghouls (Yes, his name is Mage. It was his idea); Persephone, a 22-year old thief/ex-guerllia fighter (She goes by Peri), and Mari, a 13-year old prodigy scholar/now sniper, who has her mind and soul trapped within Peri's body; and Lea, a deeply religious musician/martial artist, trained by her father, a famous trainer for arena fighters, she's covered from her mouth down in bandages to hide the horrific state her body has become thanks to the 'cures' that saved her from cancer.

Your journey continues...

You've made contact with the Shadow Company within Citadel. They've been able to hold their own, and keep sane within this place. However, your mission is quite clear, if the Shadow Company is to be of any use to you, especially in getting past Citadel's forces to its Heart, you'll need to get them out of the Citadel that's devoted to War and Combat.

The only way to do that is to access one of the other Citadels, and take out the Paladin Commander there. The person/being that's devoted to regulating the different Citadel layers and identifying any deviances that could spoil the 'utopia' that each Citadel exists in.

You have landed in a version of Citadel that's devoted to the 'purity and simplicity' of the past. Old thatched roofs, stone and daub walls, and the grand arena is now a grassy field where an actual knight's tourney is being held.

The tournament is being observed by one of the Newgate royal family, and the golden masked Paladin Commander. A knight in silver is winning applause and cheers from the crowd as they win favor and glory.

You've arrived in time to see the Silver Knight's latest opponent, a man from the Phoenix Empire. More importantly, you recognize him as being one of Kingfisher's flunkies. He's dressed in a ridiculous ensemble of what someone might think someone from the Empire might have worn, long ago, and is about to face the Silver Knight.

Hey Echo! How are you today?
Obligatory pic is obligatory.
>>
>>26865459
Yay! Lamia Quest!

Okay, we have to fight the Knight as our main objective and rescue Phoenix Empire guy as our secondary objective. I think we should wait a while and scout out the knight's fighting skills before we go in and "A New Challenger Has Come!" fight the knight.
Also, should we let Mari say that we're doing this for the legacy of the Bear tribe, as one could say the Bear Tribe did win, what with the UFK and all.

Okay, so battle plans! I felt we should be quick and dramatic, so here's my plan:

We have Lea or MariPeri go full camp villain. Something along the lines of "Aha! The prophecy has been fulfilled; the First Age of Citadel has returned and I am finally free! Go my champion of famine (Tricia, with a cloud of locusts)! Go my champion of madness (Mage, with some weird illusion spells or explosions)! Go my champion of corruption (Lea or MariPeri, who tries to get any spectators to flee)! AND GO MY CHAMPION OF WAR (Ssen, whose face should be covered with a helmet or wrappings)! DEFEAT THE CITADEL'S LAPDOG AND SPREAD DARKNESS OVER THE LAND!"

There are downsides to this, mainly that the citizens won't trust us, but honestly I don't care about that other than during the eventual evacuation.
>>
>>26865615
"Something Something-Sun...I think." Mari says.

"What?" Tricia asks.

"The guy's name. It was something that ended in Sun." Mari says. "I think."

"More than I remember." Tricia says.

What ever his name is-Sun gets to his feet and grabs the sword. He looks around at the scenario he's in. He pats down his clothing, looking for something, but it looks like he's not finding anything, not even when he reaches below his belt.

The Silver Knight is motioning to his squire who's coming onto the field, wheeling a weapon rack with him.

The overweight 'Queen Newgate' waves her hand with a handkerchief in it.

"What's our play here?" Lea asks.

"Whatever it is," MAge says. "The center of the..." He sighs. "Magic Babble, I need to be up next to her Majesty's throne if you want me to locate the Heart."
>>
>>26865723
Can we even get close to the throne without getting spotted? Because the only other way I can think of is to rush the Queen and take her hostage while Mage does mage-stuff.
>>
>>26865723
Take out the Paladin Commander. He's the main objective, and if we do anything else he'll have time to call backup. The Silver Knight and Something-Something-Sun will probably be distracted enough to not kill each other before we're done.
>>
>>26865816
I dunno if the Queen is necessary, though. It's only near her throne, it isn't the queen herself. If she is tossed out of the stadium for whatever reason, we're still good.
>>
>>26865816
You're thinking about this wrong, dude.
Mage is a player. He's got smooth skills when it comes to the ladies.
He'll be fine....
>>
>>26865852
>get Mage all dappered up
>introduce him as a prince (which being the son of the king of the ghouls, he is from a certain point of view)

I love it. He and MeriPeri should be on it. Tricia, Lea, and Ssen are all unfortunately too conspicuous and should stick to stealth.
>>
>>26865905
Don't forget, he's also Dagda, so he technically is Elvish royalty, too!
>>
>>26865905
You look at Mage and smile. "We need to send Yvonne, or one of the other Freed, to go get us some fancy looking clothing."

Mage shakes his head. "Oh, no."

"Well," Lea says with a smile. "You've pretended to be royalty before, shouldn't be too hard to pull it off again."

Mage sighs and nods. "Alright, alright. I'm already wearing the yellow boots, after all."

"I'll go back to our entry point and contact Yvonne and the freed." Tricia says.

"Okay," Peri asks with a grin. "So, what's Mage's title going to be now? We going to make him Dagda again?"

"Eh," Lea says. "Maybe not a good idea."
>>
>>26866042
Man, that's a perfect plan.

But what is Ssen going to do? The biggest problem we have right now is that we're a giant snake person and that's completely verbotten in this setting.

Our choices are really either:
1. Be dumb (been there, done that, barely worked)
2. Be evil and civilized
3. Be evil and feral

All are very disruptive and I don't want to screw up mage's romance. Though we could try being a feral lamia in the Colosseum. I'm sure they used them like lions. We'll need to see if that's the case, though.
>>
>>26866074

>>26866074

We should jump into the Colosseum Arena and bellow a challenge to all comers.
>>
>>26866108
Let's just have someone summon us as a "protector" at some point.

One smoke bomb and some wiggles of the finger, Bam, snake lady. Magic. I don't have to explain shit.
>>
>>26866205
I like this plan.
Good backup incase the Mage swag fails or backfires spectacularly.
>>
>>26866205
If we can pull it off, I'm fine with it. But I don't think we've ever seen summoning magic. I'm sure it's possible, but we need to be consistent with the time period.
>>
>>26866074
"Unless you guys know of any other royalty he could masquerade as that would have been around this time period, it'll have to be dagda. I wonder if that elf war still is going on back in this time period.
Say, can any of you make some smoke? Magic or not? If we tell phoenix boy down there to wiggle his fingers and say some phony magic words with our whisper flute, and then make some smoke, I could intervene on his behalf AND we'd have an explanation for the educated lamia that hopefully wouldn't get me skewered.
>>
>>26866448
I don't think we're going to be convincing the PE boy who has a standing kill order on us to do anything.

At least, not yet. When we capture Sideway's gang, we should try to convince them to help us save their master from getting mindraped or whatever by Citadel.
>>
>>26866488
the guy's used to having some golem support, and is probably going to be minced in a fight.

Either we use the dagda maneuver to get the fight cancelled, or we get a summon-drop in with Ssen.

Heck, we could have dagda do the "summoning" on Ssen if it turns to violence, it doesn't necessarily need to be the kid. It just has benefits of giving him an option to work with us willingly, and gets Ssen out into the open quicker. Right now we're sort of... unseen, somehow. I don't know how.
>>
>>26866544
What we could do is use said Dagda maneuver to have the fight postponed.

First, "to get the crowd satiated," we have Roman-style animal hunt. With us as the prey. Feral us.

It gets us in and we can recover Beacon sneakily later.
>>
I dunno. I'm just not seeing the idea of a talking lamia something that anyone with a First Citadel mindset would by. We're kill on sight, at best. It'd be as if an alligator or bear showed up.
>>
>>26866689
After these messages we'll be right back.
>>
Rolled 17

>>26866689
I'm not really seeing an argument against the "leap into arena and challenge all comers" plan I proposed.
>>
>>26866903
Well, if we do that, I think we'd need some flare. Citadel moves slower when the disruption is dramatic.

Since Mage is occupied, perhaps with MariPeri as his "bodyguard" protecting the queen, have Trica let off a swarm of locusts and biting flies. Lea could throw some smoke bombs.

That's a good enough plan.
>>
>>26866903
it wouldn't really solve anything is the main counterargument. We'd need to go after the paladin commander, not just anyone who challenges us. Also, I'd like to be mostly in-character until after we have finished the commander to lower total citadel awareness raised, but that's an optional side bonus objective.
>>
>>26866108
> 1. Be dumb

But anon, what happened to pretending to be something else?
>>
>>26866689
the only way I could think of selling it would be with magic. Or claiming we're "very well trained".

>>26866594
that's a pretty risky idea. We'd have to set up beforehand some kind of escape route for us, maybe have some of our friends make an opening in the crowd or something.
>>
besides Snakes don't do 'leap' very well.
>>
>>26867061
it's really more of a lunge than anything
>>
>>26867038
That's a concept only a modern mind would consider as plausible. This is first citadel, full of reactionary types who long for the days before serpents could become paladins and when life was simpler.
>>
>>26867116
>>26867038
to be fair, we the paladin serpent sort of long for the days before serpents could be paladins.

Anyway, playing dumb may or may not work. It worked well on citadel folks, but they had naga pets. Did those exist in the past?

"Unless you guys know of any other royalty he could masquerade as that would have been around this time period, it'll have to be Dagda. I wonder if that elf war still is going on back in this time period."

"It's not." Mari says. "As of right now, Citadel and the Fey Court barely know of each other's existence. Also, Ssen, Mage can't pass for an elf."

"Who says I can't?" Mage says.

"You're the wrong height, your fingers are too thick and short, your ears are wrong, your legs and arms are too muscular in build, your teeth have an underbite, and your eyes have regular whites and none of that slight mother-of-pearl that first generation elves had." Peri says.

"True." Lea says. "But you said that hardly anyone's seen an elf in this era."

"We haven't gone back in time!" Mari says. "Don't forget that. We've just gone to a Citadel where everyone's pretending to live in a past that never existed."

"Alright, alright." You say as you watch -Something-Sun try and keep as far from the SIlver Knight as possible, as the SIlver Knight goes through a long and overly showy display of picking a weapon. "Can you guys make smoke?" You ask holding up the Whisper Flute. "Maybe we can help the guy out and give reason for me showing up and being able to talk."

Mari and Mage both nod. "Shouldn't be too much trouble. Will the Empire guy be up for it though?"

"Only one way to find out." Lea says. "Try and talk to him."

It's simple enough to contact Something-Sun's mind with the Whisper Flute. What do you want to say to him.

Some day I am going to remember what tequila does to my stomach...
>>
So, I think we have a rough scale of plans.

plan A: the dagda gambit, we use mage's inherent nobility to diffuse the fight and get an official challenge made between us and the paladin commander so we can do this with as little collateral as possible.

Plan B: The summoning. We insert Ssen into the scene with a poof of smoke and some twiddles fingers on the part of a third party, usable for maintaining cover identity in past times.

Plan C: If the dagta contingency and the summoning protocol both fail, we just go into the arena and take all comers, eventually wading our way to the paladin commander and exterminating her. The plan with the highest collateral and casualty rate, so saved for if the others fail.

Can we agree on this order of plans? Feel free to append new ones.

Also, I hope echo doesn't mind our multi-tiered planning.

Whisper flute sending, don't tip off the Knight right now by responding.
Not a lot of time so here's the deal, we need that Knight Commander wearing Gold dead. As long as he's alive they can locate any of our people and any of yours on this level of Citadel.

When combat begins wave your arms like you're summoning a beast or monster. Just don't stab me in the back when I appear. Once that commander is dead we can go our separate ways. Unless you want to be killed by a goofy knight in silver or get ransomed again.

Bullseye! The blade goes flying out of the knight's hand and the poison you spit out covers his entire face. He claws and screams and you see his left arm go limp and hang loose.

Something-Sun dives for the spiked mace and grabs it.

Then...well...everything goes Not-Purple, you taste something slightly citrus-like in our mouth and...

"COME! FACE THE MIGHT OF THE EAST AND THE GLORY OF THE EM-{What the Fuck?!}"

You're back in the starting positions that you were, Sun's holding his 'Empire' sword again, and the knight is there. Standing noble and bright in his shiny silver armor.

{Oh, I call bullshit!} He says.

Your turn.

You do notice one thing. The knight before had a celtic-esque design on his armor's filigree. This one has an ivy pattern. Also he's weilding an axe, not a spiked mace.

I think savescumming is exactly the idea. And there are two ways to deal with that: 1. do the same shit over and over again or 2. have an even worse resolution

Eventually the save scummer takes their losses and let's it go.

A wrap + stab from PE wouldn't go amiss (I've already voted, btw), but if it happens again we go for goldy. And if that fails, we go venom, increasingly deadly each time. Every time Citadel starts the fight over, we bring new weapons to the table.

That all being said, an axe and a spear are both very dangerous weapons to a lamia.

Rolled 5, 8, 10, 6, 1, 10, 6, 7, 10 = 63

You aim and unleash Enlightenment at the Paladin Commander.

It's a dead on hit. The Queen shrieks in fear and the Paladin Commander staggers forward and falls of the stage. She lands on her knees in the muddy field.

You look around. The field has turned into mud, dirt, and a little scrub, there's a smell of dung, feces, excrement, and shit in the air. The quaint houses now sag and droop, and the sky is now overcast and dreary. The pretty banners and bright colors are now half-torn and slightly faded or have cheap dye.

The Queen looks around. "What's going on? This isn't right!"

Dead knights, or knights that are moaning in pain with broken limbs, or paralyzed faces, are scattered around in the yard. The green knight looks around lost, and then actually falls over in his armor.

"This is Heavy!" A much younger voice says.

The Paladin Commander stands up. Her mask has broken. You see a human face, but it has pieces of glass embedded...no...grafted...onto it, and as she takes off her hood, you see that half of her scalp is canvas, flax, and colored yarn.

"Deviance found. Requesting immediate expul..." She frowns. "Request. Command! Citadel? Where ARE you?" She looks a little panicked. "What did you DO?!" She asks. "WORKERS!"

Three Citadel Things rip themselves out from the stands, and the fence. They're the usual cobbled together human-shaped mishmash of building materials, with painted canvas faces.

There's a crash and you see the fece where you came in get blown apart and the Dawnchasers are heading onto the field.

{Okay.} Sun says as he grabs a discarded mace off of the ground. {Good plan.}

Roll for initiative.

>>
>>26872574
I think we might have already did that thing with the beacon.
Unless we could do it... more?
>>
>>26872434
That... actually sounds like an interesting thought.

Keratin actually derives its strength from supermolecule configuration, so the way the amino acids are composed rather than a simple chemical shift. But then again, the hydroxylapitite matrix of bones has been known to do some funky things in a taphonomic environment, and iron deficiency has been cited as a possible cause of the weakening of bone structure seen in porotic hyperostosis, so it's possible that an increase in iron consumption could strengthen our scales.

I dunno.
>>
>>26872582

We've taken a wound so far and pulled off a successful attack. Beacon should be at two charges, methinks.
>>
>>26872582
The only way we know that we're done is when the sky turns completely black.

>>26872615
It's simple enough. If our scales rely on chemical content for strength, a diet heavy in iron could contribute to maintaining or increasing their rigidity: much the same way it does with bones, which also rely on an inorganic chemical component for their strength.

If our scales work the way snake scales do, which is their keratin content (a biological, protein-based substance), additional iron may be good for a healthy diet, but it won't have any measurable effect on our resistance to injury.

"Thievesss burn." You say and you unleash the power of the Morningstar.

The Paladin Commander doesn't explode.

The ground does...kinda.

A blazing network/crisscross of cracks of light shine through the ground of the area. A few of the buildings blaze brightly and catch on fire. You HEAR the sky scream in pain, and the bleachers, and the stand of royalty collapse into dust and muck. The Workers burst into white flame for a moment and then ash. The people who haven't run for the hills all instantly blur and vanish to another Citadel. Then...nothing. The place is as silent and lifeless looking as the Silver City is.

The Paladin Commander is still speared on Beacon. She's shivering and blood, plaster, and something black and tar-like is coming out from her mouth, nose and eyes. "No more...no more...no more...please...please...I am a Paladin...I serve you...I did this for you...please...no more...they wanted it...they loved it...I kept people safe and...no more...please...please no more. I"M SORRY! FORGIVE ME! NO MOOOOOREEE!" She shrieks as she rips herself free from Beacon and collapses to the ground.

"Shit!" Mage runs up to where the stage collapses and takes out his instruments. He swears as Tricia and Lea go to tend to the Paladin on the ground.

"Great. Nice going, Ssen...only YOU could blow up an entire Magic Spike." He sighs. "Now we've got to find a new spot."

"What. Just. Happened?" Sun asks as he looks around. "Did...did you just kill an Entire level of Citadel?!"

"She got Clang busted up." You say. "Anyway, sorry about that Mage. Will 'oops' suffice?"

"Just means we have to get to another level." Mage says.

"Is this place still good for Shadow Comapny's retreat?" You ask.

"Well, since you forcibly ejected everything else, including Citadel's presence...yeah. I think you filled the bill...and then some." Mage says. "Don't know how long we have until Citadel fills in this place again, but...yeah, we've got full control of this level. It's not as big as the others though, like Yvonne said."

"Still...I think we got what we came for...ow ow ow ow." Lea winces as she extracts the glass shards from her body.

"Starting to be glad I don't have flesh anymore." Tricia says as she adjusts her body so that the shards in her all fall to the ground.

"I'll go contact the Freed. Get Shadow Company moving into here as soon as they can." Peri says taking off.

"One down side." Mage says. "No way we'll be able to sneak around like we did before. Not after destroying an entire Citadel level."

"You treat this thing of great magnitude, with such little awe?" Sun asks. "You shook the ground and caused heaven pain. Do not act as if this was just the same as getting tea or cake for afternoon meals!" {Just how crazy ARE you people? Sun, how much do you know about us? Probably not much. Think we're a ragtag bunch of miscreants fucking around with the plans of spymasters and emperors.
But the reality is that we're Caligo Clarus. Godkillers, of a sort. The world is full of land spirits, who were originally Gods with specific tasks. But they decided to interfere in the mortal world and this corrupted them. Like the Fifth, who hated all sentient life.
Then humans tried to create their own gods to defeat the land spirits, but that... just made things worse. Citadel is one such creation. And we are here to kill it."

{You...oh of course you wouldn't.} Sun rolls his eyes. {Well, as I understand it. The Herons have perverted his ideal, but using Citadel as some kind of massive ritual site so that a person could shape and bend the soul of humanity to their will? That was all Kingfisher's idea in the first place.

{He was pissed that Heron went 'off script' as he put it. I guess he either was too light of a hand on them, I've served the Old Man for a while, and I've seen it happen. He tries to manipulate people and give them ideas that they think the have for themselves...then they actually HAVE their own ideas, or add to the ideas that Kingfisher gave them, and then his eye starts to twitch and he pretends that it was his plan all along.}

{But, yes, Kingfisher wants the Colony to be free, and he has nothing but the best wishes for his people, and your people too...as Empire subjects...but he wants to be Emperor and he wants to be God.

{Scariest part is that I think he can pull it off.}

"He wants to make an Empire that defies death and end of death. He despises..." {He looks at the great tribes, and the mighty empires that existed before Citadel and views them as insults. There are ruins of mighty civilizations that are nothing but dust and stones and he sees failure. He wants an empire that will never die, he wants a legacy that will not fade, he told me once that he wishes for an existence where death and entropy are just scary stories that will be used to scare children. He wants something that will last. The idea that one day there will be beings alive that know nothing of the Empire and it's glory is something that keeps him awake at night. "So he wishes to take a step further than the Citadel, which was fragile and demanding to even achieve what it was before I ruined everything? It cannot last. They has to be a cycle of life and death, things that die must pass on and it the duty of the gods to see that things do pass on. It is not the place of gods to interfere with mortals, those that have are twisted and fowl things that disrupt was is natural. He must be stopped, for the sake of everyone trapped in the citadel and the fates of nations forming on this continent."
>>
>>26873771
yeah, didn't we hear that doing this magic would burn the folk in citadel as fuel? Even if we didn't hear that, I fear it.

also, glass. Inside of us. Lovingly. We should perhaps think about that some. Remove a little.
>>
>>26873771
The worse case scenario is that he might ally WITH Citadel. Peace was trying to do some ritual with the HIS and Kingfisher might do the same to establish that universe swallowing future of Citadel.
>>
{Now you know he's willing to sell his soul to a demon for it. Unfortunately for him, we already put a stop to that, Citadel was shooting for that very same thing. Still is, but the slowly-expanding-egg strategy is much slower. We'll have to stop it twice.} You say.

"Man I've got to teach you guys phoenix tongue, this must be very offputting for you to have me go off for conversation in bird talk. Lizard too, but that's aside the point."

"Cai knows most. I understand but have some trouble with speaking most of your tongue and I know that I am not speaking smooth as best I can." Sun says. "Thank you for kind waiting and understanding."

There's a pleasant surprise waiting for you at the shop you entered. Peri is there with Jonas, a few Shadow Company men, and your naga double herself, in her homemade mantle and circle. Princess smiles and hugs you.

"Hello. I am Paladin Serpent Ssen Patrick." She says with a hissing grin.
>>
>>26873817
"What a coincidence, so am I!"

Try talking to her in lizard tongue? We understood it before without knowing it...I think.
>>
>>26873840
Yeah. Lizard tongue. Something motherly. That's the most likely to have survived.
>>
>>26873817
"What a coincidence, me too!' Hug her back, and share the hissing grin.
"You don't know how happy it makes me to hear that you managed to learn to read some in that warzone. Changes so many plans."

Hey sun! Meet another paladin serpent! And some other friends! Sideways is here somewhere, but she's a prisoner for now.
>>
>>26873817
After one of the other comments, be sure to ask after the other girl. I'm interested in her too.
>>
>>26873873
Yeah. How those two spent their days is going to be a story to hear.
But that's for the celebration in the next thread. These guys have earned a few hours of rest.
>>
<What a coincidence, so am I!> You say with a smile as your hug her back, a proper lamia hug.

She hisses and hugs you properly back.

Janos looks around. "Lady Paladin Ssen...I ask you to find me a way inside another area of Citadel, and your response is this? I shudder to wonder what would happen if I asked you to take over the Empire."

"Knowing Ssen...probably she'd sink the whole thing into the sea." Mari says.
>>
>>26873894
probably just propaganda duties, but I'm interested.

We should also check in with blue jay, but I'm pretty sure he's doing his job.
>>
>>26873900
"Or set it on fire. One of the two."
>>
>>26873900
"Mistakes were made, but I refuse to admit any responsibility for any ecological damage I may or may not have caused. Also I hope I'd come out of the phoenix thing with a few pretty dresses at least, I've been hoping for some of those ever since my first one got shot."

Don't mind us. Just hugging over here.
>>
>>26873900
"I didn't start the ecological destruction train, but i will stop it if I have to. There is far too much to do there that it would be waste to merely sink it or set it on fire or both.

Ask me next century"
>>
>take over the empire

Yeah, this question is going to involve Sun's future loyalty to us.
>>
>>26873900
And with that we'll close for the evening/morning.

The next thread will be August 29th, 4-7pm PST

May His Light be with you.
>>
>>26873900
"I'd buy some dresses, of course.

And one of them fig-rice so and so cakes, I forget already. I hope tricia remembers."
>>
I wonder if we'll get any more favors for saving the asses of the little spies we've been collecting
>>
>>26873950
good note to end it on. See you thursday echo, smashing good thread this time around!

I hope the others don't mind us giving extra attention to princess, but fuck, we see humans like every day. Hardly ever see one of our own kind though. Last I heard there's some 30ish in all of stone hall.
>>
>>26873965
I think we're going to keep them. If kingfisher doesn't change his ways.

Also after we learn what dirt he has on each of them and diffuse it, to prevent him using them to backstab us.
>>
>>26873950
Night, Echo. Hope us creating a deadzone didn't create too much work for you.

>>26873965
Probably not. He considers them expendable and they're showing signs of disloyalty to him. It's 2 out of 3 so far and we're bound to run into the third next Citadel layer.

Sideways we are keeping. For sure.
>>
>>26873991
maybe, just maybe, we'll get sideways to be a blacksmith again.

also HOW DID CLANG BREAK
I always feared beacon would break one day, but never clang! Clang was just... too macho, too strong!
>>
>>26874006
Clang ate a crit for us
>>
>>26874009
more the rhetoric how.
What are we going to do with the clang fragments? I have a few ideas.
Forge each one into its own shield and give them to Ssai and Ssah
give it a proper grave and burial
mend the pieces back together with something new in the middle. haven't decided what yet.

>Sideways sets up a blacksmithing business
>starts a family and has adorable children

This is all I want for her. Good end.
>>
>>26874041
I am hoping for happy ends for the empire dudes, but then I remember they all universally have shady pasts. Like, sideways killed a family of folks. We don't know that IC, it was meta-told to us by echo, but we'll probably have to deal with it eventually.
>>
>>26874035
>Using the pieces to create shields for the little ones

I support this wholeheartedly. But we really need to talk with them about what they want their futures to be. Last thing we want to do is push the idea that they have to grow up and be just like Ssen.
>>
>>26874100
yes, let's have a talk about it. I'd love to give them the shields, but I'd hate to see them take up a life of fighting.

Meanwhile I'd love to see them take up hobbyist fighting and maintain a career in something else.

Because we get to spar with them as an activity if they are hobbyist fighters.
>>
>>26874100
Something to consider is they're both magically viable. All of us snake folk are, in fact.

And magically viable people are a rare and valuable commodity in this world, easily destined to work as a cups man or a staves member, if they chose it.
