Predator Quest: Episode 52

You are Three-Claw, a Yautja hunter of the Cloud Viper clan. You have been tasked by your clan Matriarch to investigate breaches of forbidden knowledge by clan Weyland on the planet Fey'lenn, or Pandora, as it is known in the human tongue. Your investigations have ultimately led you to Earth - where you will strike out at Weyland-Yutani's headquarters.

You crouch down with your back to the balcony wall as Burning-Scythe carefully scans the interior. Sharp-Strike focuses his attention tensely on a floating sphere drone hovering below while Seeking-Eye tracks a nearby synthetic patrol.

In the distance, on the roof of an office complex, you notice Quick-Shadow and Ashen-Blade lay prone and assemble the two large caliber spear guns.

Burning-Scythe turns around, and gives you a gesture. You unroll a breaching sheet charge and fix it to the glass wall. You back away, and detonate. The sheet heats up, silently combustion, and the wall is suddenly liquefied. The four of you quickly enter.

You find yourself in a large and luxurious office. The lights are off and no one seems to be present. It seems to be part of a larger complex, filled with many such offices.

Do you:

A. Split up and search the rooms, looking for an exit and other items of importance.
B. Stay together, and make a sweep towards the center of the facility.

You take point, and gesture for your team to follow. Together, you carefully sweep the series of office complexes for items of interest. Suddenly, your vision mask highlights something. You quickly press yourself against a nearby wall. Your team does the same. You notice a small, floating drone, a bit larger than your fist, with a rotating camera on top, patrolling between the offices. It's currently heading in your direction.

Do you:

A. Backtrack and try to avoid it.
B. Wait for it to get close and attempt to disable it with a shock knife. (DC: Medium)
C. Take it out with a plasma bolt.

Deciding it's best to avoid it rather than risk giving away your position, you motion your team to retreat towards the previous room. You look for an alternate path, but after spending some time exploring your surroundings the only other path leading to the rest the building seems to be a locked door made out of lacquered plastic.

You hear footsteps trailing back and forth behind the door.

The door is sealed with a slotted lock that takes a key card. Burning-Scythe pulls a small plasma torch from his belt, and gestures to you that he can cut the lock. You check your pouch. You have two breaching charges left.

Do you:

A. Breach it with your sheet charge and take out whoever is on the other side. (DC: Medium-Hard)
B. Have Burning-Scythe cut through the lock with the torch. (DC: Medium)
C. Search thoroughly around the office for a key card.

You motion Sharp-Strike to search the office for a key card fitting the lock while Burning-Scythe carefully and quietly begins to slice through the lock.

A few moments later, Burning-Scythe extinguishes the torch and signals to you that it's done. The lock as been cut.

You give Sharp-Strike a few moments to search through the various cabinets, to see what he can find. He wasn't able to find a key card, but did find an emergency evacuation plan for the building, which provides a fairly detailed map of the current floor. He also found a small data tablet containing several well doctored videos of Yautja ships firing on human colonies.

You stash both.

The lock has been sliced through and the door is ready to be opened, but there's still the matter of whoever is patrolling back and forth behind it. The door conveniently opens inward, towards you.

Do you:

A. Carefully open the door by just a crack and use your holo emitter to distract the guard. [DC: Medium-Hard)
B. Go into the next room further down and knock on the wall; when the guard is distracted, head through the door. (DC: Hard)

You carefully nudge the door open by a crack, and fire a holo-emitter beam down the adjacent hallway. You project a flickering humanoid shadow disappearing around the far bend. The synthetic guard snaps his attention to the phantom, and quickly runs down the hall after it.

You pull open the door and head through. You quickly make your way down the corridor and down a set of stairways to overlook the massive, 8 stories tall main lobby, of the Weyland-Yutani HQ.

You hold position inside a nearby lavatory, and consult the tablet Sharp-Strike found back in the office.

Where should you head towards?

A. The Weyland-Yutani data center, spanning the top 10 floors of the tower.

We destroy all the data there, then head down to B. While Weyland is focusing on us we send Quick-Shadow and Ashen-Blade up to the data center to take sensitive data and then rig the place to blow.

>>26931669
Clarification: I don't mean rig the tower to blow. I just want them to sabotage the data once they have it. This might be thinking a bit too far ahead, though.

It would be nice to get evidence of Weyland's illegal activities. Handing that to EarthGov would mean Weyland's destruction.

You decide to head for storage and engineering. You communicate your decision to Ashen-Blade and Quick-Shadow. They acknowledge.

You carefully return to the hallway above the main lobby and cut through another office complex. Your goal is the secondary elevator banks. After evading a similar camera drone there, you reach the row of elevators. They seem to be unguarded.

Do you:

A. Call up one of the elevators and ride it down.
B. Pry open the doors and climb down the shaft.

A. & B.

You motion your team to line up next to the nearest elevator, and enter "B10" into the keypad. The display blinks, and directs you to elevator F. You quickly dash to the side, and wait until the elevator arrives. The door opens, and a moment later it closes. You wait until the whirring passes, and quickly jam your claw into the elevator doors and pull them open.

You wave your head as a gesture to your teammates. One by one, they leap into the elevator shaft onto the top of the moving elevator while you hold the doors open. You then let go, and leap down to join them.

As the elevator descends past the engineerng and stoarage level, you reach out and once again pull the doors apart. You lead your team through.

You find yourself in a well lit metal lobby. You quickly press yourself against the wall and scan your surroundings. You hear several footsteps around you.

C. Backup generators

>>E. Drone armoury and maintenance

You decide to head for the drone maintenance bay. You sneak your way forward, avoiding a few synthetic patrols along the way, until you find yourself just outside of a large storage room filled with inactive drones, from the large sphere drones floating outside to the small camera drones inside.

Further down from racks of drones are a shelves lined with parts and accessories, including auto-cannons and machine guns.

You notice two human technicians sitting at their desks, chatting with each other.

Do you:

A. Head over to the racks of drones and examine them.
B. Head over to the parts rack and examine the weapons.

>>A. Head over to the racks of drones and examine them.

You carefully make your way towards the rack of drones. Burning-Scythe takes out a pair of probes and hooks them into the control cluster on one of the larger spherical drones.

You hook your vision mask to the probe output, and attempt to access the system. Your advanced mask quickly unscrambles the primitive human cryptography, and you find yourself tapped into the drone command network.

With some careful electronic acrobatics, you're able to assert your test drone as the commander of all drones with range. You are now able to issue commands across the drone network, but you must be careful not to be detected, as you notice several synthetics logged into the drone network as well, who are no doubt monitoring everything.

What command(s) do you issue?

A. Disable all cameras (DC: Medium-Easy)
B. Disable all weapons (DC: Medium)
C. Disable all movement (DC: Medium-Hard)
D. Disable anti-cloaking mist emission (DC: Medium-Hard)

>>D. Disable anti-cloaking mist emission (Pass, vs. DC 13).

You issue a command to all drones to cease emission of anti-cloaking gasses, and mask it as part of a diagnostic exercise.

The command takes a moment to propagate through the network. Each drone signals back a confirmation.

Do you:

A. Disable all cameras (DC: Medium-Easy)
B. Disable all weapons (DC: Medium)
C. Disable all movement (DC: Medium-Hard)
D. Disable all sensors (DC: Hard)
E. Shut down all drones and burn their programming. (DC: Hard)

Deciding not to risk detection, you disconnect yourself from the drone command network and pull out the probes from the drone.

You peer around to make sure you're not spotted.

Having done all you can in the drone maintenance bay, you decide to head out.

Do you head to:

You make your exit from the drone maintenance bay and backtrack towards the elevator. You head towards the synthetic maintenance bay, located one floor below. You stalk down a flight of stairs, and crouch at the sound of footsteps.

In the distance, you notice several synthetics laying down on specialized beds. They do not appear to be active. Behind them is a large room filled with various synthetic limbs encased in tubes filled with milky fluid.

Along the far wall, you see an armory, where several synthetics sit in front of a bench, cleaning their rifles with mechanical precision.

Two synthetic guards patrol back and forth, but you can avoid them with some effort.

Do you:

A. Investigate the inactive synthetics.
B. investigate the tubes containing spare synthetic parts.
C. Investigate the armory.
>>
>>26933103
A. if we can remote control them to go crazy, thats an excellent distraction
>>
>>26933103
A.
Perhaps we can program one to rampage at a certain time so that all synthetics will have to undergo an impromptu maintenance check?

Or we could start heading to the R&D Department and take care of any synthetics in our path the old fashioned way.
>>
>>26933153
>>A. Investigate the inactive synthetics.

You carefully sneak your way past the patrol and crouch down next to the inactive synthetics. There are a total of four of them, and it seems they are hooked into a central diagnostics system.

Burning-Scythe again takes two probes and attach them to the inputs of the diagnostics system. The synthetics seem to be undergoing routine maintenance. This squad runs patrols all the way from the R&D sections under ground to the surface lobby.

You unscramble the rudimentary encryption and tap yourself in. Though large scale alterations to the synthetics programming is impossible, you are able to make subtle adjustments, such as adjusting chemical levels in their cortex and introducing deliberate flaws to their routine.
