>Sorry my computer was being stupid.

You are Yuri Ivanov, a Corporal in the Tesenturian Reserve Corp and well….shit happened to you, after partying with some comrades in celebration for a series of peace treaties and creation of a lasting stable government. Meaning that for the first time in its history will ensure that the neighboring countries will cease hostiles and that the government itself will ensure that it will keep together and not fall from the various factions that once plagued the old one thus ensuring a long awaited peace.

Or at least it should have after being enlisted on a patrol along with several new recruits by your closest friend and now superior Sergeant Maya Salko which took you on the outskirts of the city in which you were ambushed by remnants of an old faction. After a couple of skirmishes with the enemy which left your forces with a few wounded, one dead, and you almost dying by the end of a knife but otherwise the battle was a success. However a strange bright light suddenly envelops the both of you in which you managed save her by pushing her out of the way.

Now you are currently facing the phantom thief that Siesta once told you in passing as you begin to roll out of the way hoping to return fire against the stone artillery.

However when you thought you got out of the way you were still within range. The Thief must have put in more mass into that limb before launching it making it bigger than the previous one. You against your training closed your eyes flinching at incoming death and awaiting its imminent embrace.

Highest Roll 17
And waited.

….and waited.

Out of morbid curiosity you open your eyes and see that you still whole.

And currently viewing the scenery a couple hundred feet off the air.

You look up to see a certain blue dragon grabbing you by the pack with its mouth and a certain familiar pair you met only a few hours ago.
>>
>>26938582

“Hey Darling, is this what you meant by trusting others?” The Buxom red head smiled and waved as the blue hair girl with glasses is casually reading while muttering instructions to the dragon.

>What do you say or do?
>>
>>26938591
"You can flirt with me later. And thank you.

Hostiles's right arm is disabled, left is still functional, still has her wand and golem, golem has launched two limbs. Still has box she stole.

If you get me close I should be able to disable her."
>>
>>26938940
Cannot think of anything to add.
>>
Also, ask her if reinforcements are coming
>>
>>26938582
"Its the first step."
>>
>>26939237

>>
>>26938591

“You can flirt with me later.” You told the red head before turning to Tabitha. “And thank you.”

“Mou, The only reason she got up was because I had to drag her out of bed after hearing the noise outside.” Kirche pouted obviously not amused by the acknowledgement of her efforts.

“Later! With this commotion when are reinforcements coming?” You asked and to your surprised it was Tabitha who answered. “Hostiles's right arm is disabled, left is still functional, still has her wand and golem, golem has launched two limbs. Still has box she stole.”

“Currently the teachers are trying to regroup and plan but due to the sudden noises and attack they are confused and thus actual reinforcement will take some time.” She stated before pointing at the golem right now. “Which we do not have.”

You look towards at the Golem and in turn the thief who begins chanting in which a huge dust storm suddenly kicked up beneath its feet covering both of them. Then right after that a huge piece of tower wall was kicked out of the dust storm heading towards you.

>What do you say or do?

"Dodge and try to re-establish sight on target."
"We cannot break away until she does, it's too dangerous to turn our backs to her, we must either push the target back or go through."
"She is wounded, so we should be able to track her with the trail of blood as long as we don't give her the time to patch herself up."
>>
I'm thinking we could throw a grenade in the dust, but that would probably be a waste of grenade.

The dragon dodged in a dive hoping to get under the piece of stone and to pursue the target.

Highest Roll: 10

However despite dodging most of the stone projectile it did graze its right wing though not knocking down the dragon disturbed its flight pattern causing it to crash land. Luckily none of you and the others was seriously hurt if not a bit shaken. You look up to see the Golem burst through the dust cloud and running away from the scene of the crime and its target was the campus wall.

>>
>>26941072

"We should her let go, she is running away and wounded, so she shouldn't be coming back to finish us off while school is on full alert." You said muttering curses under your breath of her getting away before you go to check on Slypheed. From what you can tell the rock only grazed her and it seemed more like she was spooked causing her to crash rather than the injury itself but you’re not a medic let alone an expert of dragons so you may be wrong. You then pet her head soothingly. "I'm sorry that you got wounded saving my sorry ass."

“Kyuu” The dragon replied back before giving you a very sloppy lick.

"We need to get a medic for Sylpheed immediately." You turn to the two though she may seem fine it’s better to be safe than sorry and going to chase after a thief who fled off into the woods at night without any information is idiotic right now. “Kirche, can you please get someone to take a look.”

The Red head nods though her hair a bit messy and the rest of her body covered in dust and dirt she goes off to probably get some teachers. Roughly fifteen minutes later you see Professor Colbert still in his night cap and pajamas walks up to you with several teachers and nurses who either survey what happened or attending to the dragon.

“Mr.Ivanov, what just happened?”
>>

>>

"Hostile assaulted the fortifications with a large golem about (insert height here) meters high, quick mission, professional, she knew what she was looking for and didn't waste time, took a box from (location)."

Give him as solid a description of her as we can.

"Her right arm is not functional right now, but it can probably be healed up by a water mage,"
>>
>>26941899
"Send a search party to pursure, the golem is easy to find and she is wounded"
>>
>>26941949
This, although I'm not sure if we know how well can water mages heal, so it's best to just describe that we put a hole in her right bicep.
>>
>>26941930

"An earth mage using a large golem broke into the tower to remove a rectangular box.” You replied to him with an even stare.

“Fouquet the crumbling dirt.” He filled in for your with a surprised expression in which you reply with a nod.

“Most likely so, whoever it was expected a quick job, knew what they were looking for.” You continued your explanation. “It was a professional job.”

“Then we must set out a search party immediately!” He exclaimed in which you nod once more.

“That should be your primary mission right now.” You agreed. “I engaged and managed to wound them in the shoulder, and arm, however those wounds could probably be patched up pretty quickly by water mages as far as I am told so it is best to pursue them while the trail is hot.”

His eyes widened and look at the relative far distance from here to the tower before looking at your rifle obviously questioning and comparing it to the firearms they have here.

“My country is very good at acquiring said goods professor.” You stated coolly and Colbert obviously getting the hint nods.

“We’ll be right on it.”

>Anything you want to say or do?

For a special forces guy, he sure was sleeping soundly despite gunfire and a building being torn apart by a giant.

We should make a mental note on his lack of vigilance.

he was in the military in his youth. remember he was in the military when agnes was a child. So its been probably 20+ years since then.

"If you want to ask more about where I come from and what I'm carring I'll be happy to answer when this is all done. For now I'm going to take a horse and give chase. Also if you see any small brass tubes on the ground please collect them for me." Also reload the rifle.
>>
>>26942442
Not to mention, for a number of year he was a pacifist and a teacher in a school where the biggest conflict was dealing with rowdy kids.
>>
"If you're confident you can take her on your own, I'll stay here and inform everyone on what has happened."
"If you think you would rather use my assistance I'll follow and provide covering fire should we engage her."

If he decides that we stay, gather the casing and go tell the students that the attacker was "Fouquet the crumbling dirt" and that she was forced to retreat after being wounded to the right bicep on her fight with you.
"We need to stay on guard this night as the teachers have decided to pursue her."

“You’ve done enough for tonight.” He says his eyes soften slightly at the slight of you reloading your rifle in an almost machine-like fashion. “Can you please escort the girls back to their dorm?”

He also pauses as if hesitating before speaking up. “Also to pick up Miss Valliere, last I heard the cooking staff was currently trying to stuff her into a cooking pot on your orders.”

So do you think water magic can heal a bullet embedded in someone's shoulder without removing the bullet if the victim doesn't realize that there is one? I think we may have signed up whoever that is for a lifetime of pain and misery until someone tells her about "shrapnel".

>>
>>26944516
>Grazed her shoulder, you rolled less then 15 if I remember so it's a grazing hit

15 seems pretty high, was it because of our position and angle?
>>
>Your aim was still off though you manage to hit her wand hold shoulder making her briefly dropping her wand.

So we've hit her shoulder, this means we've hit the bone, because shoulder is pretty much all bone, which means terrible things for her.
She's got to deal with bits of broken bone and possible lead poisoning.
>>
>>26944463
Well yeah, we're badass. I mean after they seal the wound and it heals over, they'd need precise, clean instruments to remove the bullet. It was a graze but in the case where they dont notice a bullet in them then this is a bad situation.
>>
>>26944626
I'm guessing the way it was described, it was more like the bullet reflected off the bone and then left an exit wound

But still, that's a ton of little broken bones and probably some lead fragments mixed in. Can water magic just plot-magic that all away? Even in ZnT that seems like something that would take more than a wizard waving his wand around to fix but I don't remember the severity of wounds because I was a mangafag.
>>
>>26944672
Well, if it went through, that means her shoulder is filled with tiny little bonepieces.
If it didn't, that means there's a bullet lodged in her shoulder.

Both cases require surgery in our world.
I would assume that a proper trained healer could possibly fix her up, but I doubt she could perform such a procedure on herself without missing some bone.

It's fine, we can take the "It bounced off the bone" explanation and just leave it at that.

It's a shot that is a couple hundred meters away, against a target wearing a full body cloak and hood which helps to break up the body outline in the darkness, so I can forgive OP for this cause there are enough reasons but yeah normally a 15 would have hit in most quests.

You sighed as you thought about the half-pint who is currently being shoved into a cooking cauldron in the kitchen and while you thought the image is amusing you have a job to do. You hail down one of the teachers who weren’t taking care of Slypheed and informed them to send a message to the Half-Pint saying that we have a lead and that you are going ahead with a search party.

You and the two mages head towards the stable and you saddled and mounted that blasted pompous horse in which while he did not give a hard time it was certainly acting smug about it. Once you mounted the horse you look towards the two who were already on their horses.

“Ready to set out?”

They nod and you began to ride.

“Wait up!”

You and the others stopped your horses and watched the half-pint run up to you still pajama-clad and her face flustered from probably having run all the way from the kitchen after getting your message.

That would explain how she managed to catch up.

“What are you doing Miss Valliere?” You asked a bit impatiently. “Didn’t I tell you to wait?”
“Hah, Hah, Wha-what are you doing going on without me and with them of all people!” She said between pants as she pointed at the two. “You said you were only scouting ahead and to meet up with me now you’re pursuing whoever came to the academy leaving me behind!”

"The situation changed. Now you can come along or you can stay. It's up to you." You replied in which she can only cross her arms and give a noble ‘humph’.

“Of course, there is no way that I’ll let a Zerbst steal the lead and as a noble I shouldn’t ignore what is happening.” She replied in which you can only give a sigh not bothering to question her motives when time is of the essence and extended your arm towards her.

"Come on, we'll talk while we ride!" You said as she grabbed your arm and sat behind you on the saddle hugging your pack as you and the others ride explaining what had happened up till now.

You meet up with Colbert and a couple of other teachers who look like they rather be anywhere but here outside the hold the thief left with the golem. He gives you a look probably asking why you were dragging his students in which you gave a look back saying that there is no time and we needed to go.

>What do you say or do?

Should probably add options to this one.

>Stick together

Rolled 7

>>26947668
You decided to stay together splitting up when a unknown is in a forested area at night.

That was a common tactic used by your neighbors when they tried to invade and look how effective that was.

You followed each other in single file weary of the darkness and traps that may be hidden. Half-pint began shaking after the first hour of searching due to the inadequate clothing you sighed and pulled your cloak and placing it on her as you ride. She is being rash for rushing in and ignoring your instruction but you can’t leave her out in good conscious in the cold.

Highest Roll: 13

After the third hour of searching you eventually found the Golem.

As a huge mountain of dirt.

>What do you say or do?
>>
>>26948270
3 hours? Darn.

Look for tracks among the surroundings or even blood. Is there anything to take shelter around here? Caves, trees, random cabins?
>>
>>26948270
Anyone in the search party (teachers or Tabitha) have ways to searching a large area quickly?
>>
Rolled 8

"Sunnava bitch."
>>
>>26948270
"I guess this means we need to dig some up the dirt on Fouquet if we want to find her now..."
>>
Rolled 8

>>26948270
So consensus is either cursing or pun-making wile looking for clues?

Need to know whether to curse or make a pun/
>>
>>26948604
Curse, quietly.
>>
Rolled 8

>>26948604
lemme combine that for you.

"Sunnava bitch. I guess this means we need to dig some up the dirt on Fouquet if we want to find her now..."

or keep the ones you just rolled?

usually you just discard the rolls when not asked for I just had my dice on by accident, but I'll search for clues with this roll.

I'd say this declared roll.

Hey I rolled above a 10 for once.

“Sunnava bitch. I guess we need to dig some up dirt on Fouquet if we want to find it now..." You said with a grin hoping to lighten the mood but only to get a collective groan and a sharp punch to the side from the half-pint.

Well it’s better reception back home last time a guy said a pun we threw empty ration boxes and liquor bottles at him.

Well either way we have to start digging.

Highest Roll 18

After some snooping around the hill of dirt you’ve discovered several things from what Colbert said that the mage who used this was at least a triangle level or higher (whatever) that means. You also discovered by the blood stains confirms that the wounds aren’t fatal or critical but must be treated soon. Also the life sized figure attached to the remains of the Golem was meant to be used as a distraction which means that the thief used the smokescreen earlier to cover her tracks and escape in the other direction or in hiding until the staff left so she can slip out.

Either way she’s gone for now and we can’t catch her even if we do rush back.

Luckily if she doesn’t have a water mage and stuck to regular medical treatment she’ll be out of the thieving game for a while.

If only you were so unfortunate.

>What do you say or do?
>>
>>26949823
"Time to turn back then. Nothing more we can do."
>>
Rolled 10

>>26950128
Okay, I'm going to sleep, I'll be back when I wake up.

If no one has anything else to say to the others, we have a few days worth of free time what do we do then?
>>
>>26949823
Ask Colbert what is the plan.
>>
>>26950317
Play with the dwagon and neglect the sward, collect our bullet evidence and work on plans to manufacture more ammo
>>
>>26950317
mutter about Earth mages fighting dirty
also spend time with Tabitha learning how to read and write in their language
>>
>>26950317
Spend time with the pink menace learning cultural things, language. Train, get a better layout of the campus, and help the investigation.
>>
>>26950612
This but adding in socalizing with Derf. as well as collecting our spent cartridges.
>>
>>26950612
>>26950524
I think we should combine these two learing how to read from Tabitha, culture from Louise then spend our spare time training with the sword and fitness
>>
>>26951891
God now I'm imagining carrying Derf with us while doing PT and the two of us chanting cadences.
>>
>>26951986
never read the series who is Derf?
>>
>>26952047
the talking sword
>>
>>26952062
right the sword from last thread now I feel like an idiot
>>
We still need to gather the shell casings.
>>
I think that we may want to put a bell on the door so that nobody can sneak inside while we're sleeping and steal our rifle.

Especially considering a certain thief has already seen it's firerate and range.
>>
Rolled 12

>>26950317
Okay so the consensus is to train, learn to read maybe with tabitha, study the land mor, spend time with Derf and collecting spent shells?

Is this what you want?
>>
>>26956133
Yes, this is what I want
>>
>>26956133
Yep!
>>
Rolled 20

Can I have four rolls.
One is to read
One is to build relationships (mainly Derf and Tabitha)
Study the land
Collecting Spent shells

Not bad, not good, just decent.

Man that was pretty spot on.
>>

51/80 I'd say that was pretty decent.
We also need 3rd roll.

I would do it, but I've already rolled and It's pretty clear the gods weren't pleased with my sacrifices.

Rolled 13, 18, 1, 1 = 33

very well, let is see this average roll.

WE HAVE ANGERED THE DICE GODS WITH OUR HUBRIS!
More sacrifices are needed.

>>26957271
How could I have been so arrogant to think the dicegods would provide! I apologize good Dicegods!
>>
>>26957359
Sorry something came up, and update will be delayed somewhat
>>
>>26957573
I have to catch up on my sacrifices anyways, so this will be a good time to do that.
