Yo what's up? I'm Ember, and, fuck it, y'all were here already, you know what's going on:

Meilang (that's Kneesy) and I are in the middle of a raid the rival school to our White Wing Academy, the so-called Blue Wing Academy - but while she's busy dealing with the goons, I'm stuck fighting the mastermind, a spearfighter (well, it's a glaive) called Yang Long... and then there's her grasp of chi.

Even though I just punted her and her big-ass weapon back through the gatehouse, she's up on her feet, silvery chi roiling through the air around her, all wrapped around her glaive, like a dragon, even. Just great. Just what I always wanted! At least she's cute. Not as cute as sis, but still. She's just smiling faintly, ready to make her move, but not doing so yet. "If you like, I'll let you back dow now."

>Actually, that sounds like a pretty good idea.
>Fuck you.

Do this. We came to beat her, we ain't leaving until one of us is down. And it will be her.
>>
>"Fuck you."
The words rise almost unbidden: one of us isn't walking out of here and that's not going to be me. I draw in my breath, let it out in a rush, calling up my own warm, fiery chi, spreading it through my body like a rush of flame, like a wind fanning embers into a blaze. The air around me crackles. This time is better; I don't bust up my shirt. Not yet, anyway. Yang Long raises an eyebrow. "Oh? You really aren't bad." she smiles faintly, and takes her step forward, drawing her glaive back to strike.

>Dodge and counter like always.
>Block it; that's what the guards are for.
>Just plain get out of the way.

>>
>Block it.

I step back from the swipe, draw my hands close as I turn into it - the noise is incredible, like a localized hurricane or a dragon's roar, and I have to dig in my feet and draw my arms close to stop myself from being blown away. There's a crunch and a crash behind me as the gatehouse, already weakened from our fight, can't take it anymore and all but caves in on itself, partly blown away by the blast of hot air, and partly just crashing down into the river below.

Holy shit.

The thought puts a huge smile on my face. After all - she may have knocked down a house, but I blocked that same blow. Suck it.

I shove her naginata away, up into the air, and she turns to compensate, preparing to counterattack -

>Step in and superkick!
>Shoot her legs and get her on the ground.

>>
>>26980957

>>

>Come in low to dodge, then hit her hard.
Superkick presumably means that we'd be throwing her out-of-range... which means that we'd briefly be *in* range of the naginata, so she could catch us with it on the way out.
>>
>Step in and superkick!

I move in fast, shifting sideways and launching myself at her in a quick shuffle, drawing my leg back and all but exploding it into her side, heel-to-ribs. Long turns, trying to bring her glaive in the way to block it, but I'm too fast - much too fast, the distance passes in a blur - and I smash straight into her, knocking her flying; the impact actually cracks the ground under and behind her, and she goes flying backwards. She manages to get her feet under her in the air, but she stumbles as she hits ground and has to bury the butt of the haft in the ground to stop her motion, setting stone chips scattering into the air. She licks her lips. Nothing broke, but that was definitely a solid hit.
"Dragon's Breath, huh? What's more, you're good at it. Well done; I'm impressed." Yang Long rolls her shoulder and brings her glaive around again, settling into her stance.
"Oh, I have many more things to impress you with." I crack my knuckles, smiling back. She gestures with her tip of her blade.

"Show me."

>>
>>26981086
>>26981066
There's more there than just the crowbar; the kit comes with things like lockpicks and so on.
>>
>>26981130
Our Blaze seems more like the type to go through the door than bother with lockpicks. And if we ever will, it's like once-in-6 months occurrence.
>>
>>26981174
Yeah, there was some discussion about changing that, but we can do that at the end of the thread.
>>
>"You first, beautiful."
I even throw in a wink. As usual, she's unruffled, but at least I'm not being turned down.
"Very well. I'll try to live down to your expectations," she replies. Ooh, cold. Long twists to one side, slashes with her glaive again, just like I saw it last time, although this time her chi ripples blue, dappling the cobblestones with shaded spots, like the sun shining through water.

>Same as last time, block it and move in.

>Dodge and counter.

This attack may become even more powerful than last time, so it is good idea to dodge it.
>>
>>Dodge and counter.
>>
>>26981348
She's merely waving her pigsticker around and we have the time to taunt her. I'd rather sneak a glance to ensure that we don't have several gorillas blocking our escape path.
>>
>Dodge and counter.

I scoot out to one side - know her reach, now; it can easily be avoided.

Which is what I think all the way up until the blade suddenly *extends* and lashes across my face.

I've been cut before, so it's not bad. The blinding flash of pain across my cheek and over the bridge of my nose is one thing, but I'm not blood-blinded so I can fight on, and it's not a deep cut, either, probably won't even scar. On the other hand, while I'm staggering, she turns the weapon around in her hand and thrusts with the haft - and it too extends, catching me in the gut and folding me over, and next thing I know I'm sailing through the air on the end of her weapon; she's picked it up and moved to slam me down to the ground on her other side.

Shit.

I wrap my hands around it and twist in the air, just barely making it in time - the impact is harsh, and I land on one knee, shattering the stones around me and making them give way to the earth beneath, but besides the hot blood dripping down my face, I'm alright. Long looks vaguely impressed, and I shake my head at her, like 'what were you expecting to happen?'

>Charge in.
I release the haft and take off, travelling the distance in what feels like seconds, much faster than normal; I can feel my fiery chi surging through me, burning with each step I take, as hot as the blood on my face. A good feeling, and Yang Long has to give ground before me, dancing her bare feet back across the rough stone, with a twirl to bring the blade back around her body.

But, I'm faster, and I get there before she can bring it around properly -

In spite of the crunch, she's already moving as I start to position up, but I'm faster than her, grab her arm as she rolls over and quickly spin across her, wrapping my hands around her wrist and slamming her back down onto the pavement with my legs. She makes another attempt to move, and that's the moment when I bridge and hyperextend her elbow across my hips. It takes a moment, but when the first grunt of pain escapes her, she taps out against my leg.

Do we even need a truce? The more she comes, the more we can fight.
>>
>>26982886
Let her go for sure.

Offer a hand to help her up after.
>>
>Let her go.

I release her immediately... there's no reason to make the same mistake twice. That said, I quickly roll away and get back to my feet in case she tries something. Fortunately, she doesn't; she just gets up and puts her top back on properly, quietly gathers her glaive from the ground, and then slams the haft into the stones, making a loud ringing like a bell that brings a halt to the rest of the conflict in the area.

... there's not much left to halt. She only had eight or ten guys with her and more than half their number are laid out on the ground. Meilang is scuffed, bruised, and gashed in a couple of places, but she's still ready to fight, and even smirking faintly.

Yang Long rests her glaive over her shoulder, panting lightly. Her chi's mostly gone, now, and I let mine fade, too. "So you stormed onto the school and picked a fight with us... why?"

I rest my hand on my hip, smiling faintly. "Turns out some of our prefects got sick of you raiding our school, so we came out to raid back."
"Just the two of you? Well, more like one of you and an extra..."
My smile turns into a smirk. "We're only invading one school."

Yang Long eyes me up, and eventually she shuts her eyes and smiles. "So you are. I assume my sister put you up to this."
Coming up to my side, Meilang spits out a small wad of blood onto the stones. "You're Storm's sister?"
"That's right. You can't see the resemblance?"
... no, I can't see the resemblance, but okay. "Don't come onto our turf, and this never has to happen again. Fair enough?"
She rests her glaive over her shoulders. "Yeah, I get it. I'm sure my sis'll be happy to hear it, too. Anything else, Princess?" she draws out the last word, still smirking.

"One thing. Wanna go out sometime?" I throw in a lazy wink that I hope is charming. She's not blushing, but at least I'm not being slapped again.
"Maybe if you can beat me again on a better day." Yang Long seems more amused than anything else, but that's a definite improvement. "Why'n't you scram before any of the other prefects come along to see what the ruckus is?"
"Yes please." Meilang chimes in. Of course, she's the one who's beaten up, although I'm already bruising up. We give Long a nod and make our way out... which does involve jumping over the gap in the bridge the collapsing gatehouse caused. I can almost hear Yang Long sighing behind me.

As we walk back, Meilang glances sideways at me. "So how come you tried to sink your hooks into everyone but me?"

"Tell me tomorrow." she cuts me off and her door clicks shut again. She probably needs some time to cool off still, too... cute that she'd have such a strong emotion inside that all-for-science personality. I leave her be and flop on my bed, exausted, both physically and emotionally; I've had two fights with strong opponents today and even though I did beat both of them, I still wore myself out doing it. This time, I don't dream.
