Yo what's up? I'm Ember, and, fuck it, y'all were here already, you know what's going on:Meilang (that's Kneesy) and I are in the middle of a raid the rival school to our White Wing Academy, the so-called Blue Wing Academy - but while she's busy dealing with the goons, I'm stuck fighting the mastermind, a spearfighter (well, it's a glaive) called Yang Long... and then there's her grasp of chi.Even though I just punted her and her big-ass weapon back through the gatehouse, she's up on her feet, silvery chi roiling through the air around her, all wrapped around her glaive, like a dragon, even. Just great. Just what I always wanted! At least she's cute. Not as cute as sis, but still. She's just smiling faintly, ready to make her move, but not doing so yet. "If you like, I'll let you back dow now.">Actually, that sounds like a pretty good idea.>Fuck you.
>>26980255Previous thread here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/26955959
>>26980255> Fuck you.Initiate Dragon's Breath.
>>26980255>>26980296Do this. We came to beat her, we ain't leaving until one of us is down. And it will be her.
>"Fuck you."The words rise almost unbidden: one of us isn't walking out of here and that's not going to be me. I draw in my breath, let it out in a rush, calling up my own warm, fiery chi, spreading it through my body like a rush of flame, like a wind fanning embers into a blaze. The air around me crackles. This time is better; I don't bust up my shirt. Not yet, anyway. Yang Long raises an eyebrow. "Oh? You really aren't bad." she smiles faintly, and takes her step forward, drawing her glaive back to strike.>Dodge and counter like always.>Block it; that's what the guards are for.>Just plain get out of the way.
>>26980624>>Dodge and counter like always.I don't think I want to block a strike fueled by chi..
>>26980624> Dodge and counter like always.
>>26980637>I don't think I want to block a strike fueled by chi.Hey, we have musclewizard chi while hers is the Silver-tongued Lindwyrm strike: Gift of Eternal Sleep technique. WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?>>26980624>>Block it; that's what the guards are for.I'm feeling like taking unnecessary risks.
>>26980692>we have musclewizard chiThat doesn't make us a juggernaut. Yet.We should remember all those that fucked with us and come beat them up once we've powerleveled.
>>26980712I like this idea. Ember likes this idea.
>>26980712I was being facetious.Doesn't mean you're not right about that goal. Fuck those prissy MUH MILLENNIA-OLD TECHNIQUE idiots, we'll show them all with our barely teenaged fist!
>>26980624>Block it; that's what the guards are for.Take her by surprise! And then grab her weapon!
>>26980731>picAlbino or just really really blonde?
>>26980624>Block it; that's what the guards are for.we need to switch up our rutine as not to get predictable.
>>26980835Albinos are a thing in anime.
>>26980818I strongly suspect gynoid.
>>26980839Just being white haired is a thing in anime too.
>Block it.I step back from the swipe, draw my hands close as I turn into it - the noise is incredible, like a localized hurricane or a dragon's roar, and I have to dig in my feet and draw my arms close to stop myself from being blown away. There's a crunch and a crash behind me as the gatehouse, already weakened from our fight, can't take it anymore and all but caves in on itself, partly blown away by the blast of hot air, and partly just crashing down into the river below.Holy shit. The thought puts a huge smile on my face. After all - she may have knocked down a house, but I blocked that same blow. Suck it.I shove her naginata away, up into the air, and she turns to compensate, preparing to counterattack ->Step in and superkick!>Shoot her legs and get her on the ground.>Come in low to dodge, then hit her hard.
>>26980862>>Step in and superkick! We should get at least one kick in.
>>26980862> Step in and superkick! Her chi is focused in her glaive. She doesn't have an augmented body like we do.
>>26980818I'm gonna go with >>26980835
>>26980858She also has violet eyes and skin as white as her shirt. If she was brown or had differently colored eyes, then yeah, "anime" would be an acceptable answer.
>>26980879That shirt can't contain all the freedom.
>>26980862>Step in and superkick!Straigth for her guts!
>>26980862>Step in and superkick!Boom.
I know there's no way we can do this now, but I want to throw someone up in the air hard enough to put them through jet engine in flight and make it rain blood.
>>26980957No, our goal is to a Cherubael and throw someone in stratosphere.
>>26980957...Your imaginations powerlevel is considerable, at least.
>>26980862>Come in low to dodge, then hit her hard.Superkick presumably means that we'd be throwing her out-of-range... which means that we'd briefly be *in* range of the naginata, so she could catch us with it on the way out.
>Step in and superkick!I move in fast, shifting sideways and launching myself at her in a quick shuffle, drawing my leg back and all but exploding it into her side, heel-to-ribs. Long turns, trying to bring her glaive in the way to block it, but I'm too fast - much too fast, the distance passes in a blur - and I smash straight into her, knocking her flying; the impact actually cracks the ground under and behind her, and she goes flying backwards. She manages to get her feet under her in the air, but she stumbles as she hits ground and has to bury the butt of the haft in the ground to stop her motion, setting stone chips scattering into the air. She licks her lips. Nothing broke, but that was definitely a solid hit."Dragon's Breath, huh? What's more, you're good at it. Well done; I'm impressed." Yang Long rolls her shoulder and brings her glaive around again, settling into her stance."Oh, I have many more things to impress you with." I crack my knuckles, smiling back. She gestures with her tip of her blade."Show me.">Show her.>Isn't it your turn?
>>26980988> Isn't it your turn?"You first, beautiful."
>>26980988>Isn't it your turn?If she want us to show our ability, that mean she have confidence on herself or she have another hidden ability.
>>26980884Anime is always an acceptable answer.>Show her.
>>26980988>>Isn't it your turn?Y u no shittalking no more?
>>26980988Is this the part with the crowbar?
>>26981066The worst thing about us picking the crowbar is that anything sturdy enough for us to be unable to force it barehanded would just bend the crowbar.
>>26981086>>26981066There's more there than just the crowbar; the kit comes with things like lockpicks and so on.
>>26981130Our Blaze seems more like the type to go through the door than bother with lockpicks. And if we ever will, it's like once-in-6 months occurrence.
>>26981174Yeah, there was some discussion about changing that, but we can do that at the end of the thread.
>"You first, beautiful."I even throw in a wink. As usual, she's unruffled, but at least I'm not being turned down."Very well. I'll try to live down to your expectations," she replies. Ooh, cold. Long twists to one side, slashes with her glaive again, just like I saw it last time, although this time her chi ripples blue, dappling the cobblestones with shaded spots, like the sun shining through water.>Same as last time, block it and move in.>Dodge and counter.>Charge!
>>26981204>Dodge and counter.
>>26981184We should do that. Especially if we have our leg/arm armour to save our asses when not in DB mode. >>26981204>>Dodge and counter.
Is Kneesy still alive?
>>26981298We're having a duel here.>>26981204>>Charge!Let's end this in a single bout!
>>26981204>Dodge and counter. This attack may become even more powerful than last time, so it is good idea to dodge it.
>>Dodge and counter.
>>26981348She's merely waving her pigsticker around and we have the time to taunt her. I'd rather sneak a glance to ensure that we don't have several gorillas blocking our escape path.
>Dodge and counter.I scoot out to one side - know her reach, now; it can easily be avoided.Which is what I think all the way up until the blade suddenly *extends* and lashes across my face.I've been cut before, so it's not bad. The blinding flash of pain across my cheek and over the bridge of my nose is one thing, but I'm not blood-blinded so I can fight on, and it's not a deep cut, either, probably won't even scar. On the other hand, while I'm staggering, she turns the weapon around in her hand and thrusts with the haft - and it too extends, catching me in the gut and folding me over, and next thing I know I'm sailing through the air on the end of her weapon; she's picked it up and moved to slam me down to the ground on her other side.Shit.>Roll away.>Grab the haft and try and land feet first.
>>26981541> Grab the haft and try and land feet first.
>>26981541>>Grab the haft and try and land feet first.USE YOUR LEGS:
>>26981541>>Grab the haft and try and land feet first.Let's hold this bitch and not let go until we're in range to fuck her up
>>26981606Well we ARE dragoning it up.
>>26981541>Grab the haft and try and land feet first.FULL POWER!!!
>>26981541>>Grab the haft and try and land feet first.
>Grab the haft and try to land feet first.I wrap my hands around it and twist in the air, just barely making it in time - the impact is harsh, and I land on one knee, shattering the stones around me and making them give way to the earth beneath, but besides the hot blood dripping down my face, I'm alright. Long looks vaguely impressed, and I shake my head at her, like 'what were you expecting to happen?'>Pull her in.>Charge in.
>>26981768>>Charge in.Pulling her by the haft of an extending glaive is a no go.
>>26981768> Pull her in.Don't let go of the weapon. Kick the bitch into submission.Or break the fucking thing now that you have it.
>>26981768>Pull her in.Pull her in and then clothesline her!
>>26981768Can we mix it up? give her a tug on the weapon AND then charge in?
>>26981810Point. It'll only end with the blade cutting us up.Charge in.
>Charge in.I release the haft and take off, travelling the distance in what feels like seconds, much faster than normal; I can feel my fiery chi surging through me, burning with each step I take, as hot as the blood on my face. A good feeling, and Yang Long has to give ground before me, dancing her bare feet back across the rough stone, with a twirl to bring the blade back around her body. But, I'm faster, and I get there before she can bring it around properly ->More kicks!>Spear!>Punch her!
>>26982127What's a spear?
>>26982184A miserable pile of driftwood.
>>26982219Yes, but do we strike the glaive or just smash into the broad? Ah fuck it.>>26982127>>Spear!Go go go
>>26982127OF YOU WANNA SEE SOME ACTIONGOTTA BE THE CENTER OF A-TRAC-TION>Punch her!
>>26982127>Spear!Spear her and let us move to the ground wrestling!
>Spear! She thrusts, and I duck under it, then explode forwards, tracking close to the ground like a wild animal. My shoulder hits her square in the stomach - no, slightly higher, I hear something crack - and I fold her in half, then hook her legs and slam her into the ground so hard it makes a small crater, driving the wind out of her in a pained wheeze. Her glaive clatters away somewhere out of reach, and for just a few moments, I can do whatever I like to her.>Mount and pound.>Go for submission.>Let her up.
>>26982539>>Go for submission.Wait for that tap
>>26982539>>Go for submission.Let's not fuck up again.
>>26982539> Go for submission.
>>26982539>Go for submission.Submission time!
>Go for submission. In spite of the crunch, she's already moving as I start to position up, but I'm faster than her, grab her arm as she rolls over and quickly spin across her, wrapping my hands around her wrist and slamming her back down onto the pavement with my legs. She makes another attempt to move, and that's the moment when I bridge and hyperextend her elbow across my hips. It takes a moment, but when the first grunt of pain escapes her, she taps out against my leg.>Let her go.>Break it.
>>26982886>>Let her go.We learn from our mistakes. Hopefully.
>>26982886>Let her go.
>>26982886Let her go.
>>26982886>Let her go.Ask she her for the truce against our school before we let her go.
>>26982961Let's do that later, no need to repeat the mistake from before.
>>26983002Ok, we can do it later. We just let her go and see if we can make truce.
>>26983032Do we even need a truce? The more she comes, the more we can fight.
>>26982886Let her go for sure.Offer a hand to help her up after.
>Let her go.I release her immediately... there's no reason to make the same mistake twice. That said, I quickly roll away and get back to my feet in case she tries something. Fortunately, she doesn't; she just gets up and puts her top back on properly, quietly gathers her glaive from the ground, and then slams the haft into the stones, making a loud ringing like a bell that brings a halt to the rest of the conflict in the area.... there's not much left to halt. She only had eight or ten guys with her and more than half their number are laid out on the ground. Meilang is scuffed, bruised, and gashed in a couple of places, but she's still ready to fight, and even smirking faintly.Yang Long rests her glaive over her shoulder, panting lightly. Her chi's mostly gone, now, and I let mine fade, too. "So you stormed onto the school and picked a fight with us... why?">Tell the truth.>Lie.
>>26983396>>Tell the truth.Anyone from our school could reveal the truth, I'd rather us do it.Of course, add how we wanted to test them out while at it. Because ego.
I don't remember. Why did we just do this?
>>26983396>>Tell the truth.Might as well.
>>26983456To get back our rep at our own school.
>>26983396>Tell the truth."Because I'm a shameless piece of shit who should've died years ago and has to live with that fact now.>>26983456Personal amends with White Wing after an abysmal past couple days.
>>26983396>Tell the truthShould have done a panty raid instead and sold them to the guys of our school.
>>26983396>Tell the truth.Wait... does she have no clue or playing dumb with with us? Or that somebody lyingt us....
>Tell the truth.I rest my hand on my hip, smiling faintly. "Turns out some of our prefects got sick of you raiding our school, so we came out to raid back.""Just the two of you? Well, more like one of you and an extra..."My smile turns into a smirk. "We're only invading one school."Yang Long eyes me up, and eventually she shuts her eyes and smiles. "So you are. I assume my sister put you up to this."Coming up to my side, Meilang spits out a small wad of blood onto the stones. "You're Storm's sister?""That's right. You can't see the resemblance?"... no, I can't see the resemblance, but okay. "Don't come onto our turf, and this never has to happen again. Fair enough?"She rests her glaive over her shoulders. "Yeah, I get it. I'm sure my sis'll be happy to hear it, too. Anything else, Princess?" she draws out the last word, still smirking.>Yes, actually.>We're done here.
>>26983735"Let's spar some more in the future." Then>>We're done here.
>>26983735>>Yes, actually.Wanna go out sometime?What? hey if you don't like it,vote against.
>>26983779But I do like it.[x] this
>>26983735>>26983779>>26983824I must agreed to this but in more jokily way.>Yes, actually.Jokily ask her, "Wanna go out sometime?"
>>26983735>Yes, actuallyWe'll take a token she can come try to reclaim in town some day.Her hand was so soft when it tapped out.>hue hue huebut seriously, we need more 'fight for friends' friends, and the best ones come out of rematches
>>26983866Oh boy here we go again.
>Actually..."One thing. Wanna go out sometime?" I throw in a lazy wink that I hope is charming. She's not blushing, but at least I'm not being slapped again."Maybe if you can beat me again on a better day." Yang Long seems more amused than anything else, but that's a definite improvement. "Why'n't you scram before any of the other prefects come along to see what the ruckus is?""Yes please." Meilang chimes in. Of course, she's the one who's beaten up, although I'm already bruising up. We give Long a nod and make our way out... which does involve jumping over the gap in the bridge the collapsing gatehouse caused. I can almost hear Yang Long sighing behind me.As we walk back, Meilang glances sideways at me. "So how come you tried to sink your hooks into everyone but me?">Write-in.
>>26984250Gently runs a finger under her chin ''Do you want me to?'' Placing our face near hers.I just like flirting, whether something comes of it or not is up to the rest.
>>26984250"Are you sure I haven't?"She hasn't even noticed!
>>26984301That second one is actually a decent follow-up. It's a coping mechanism, plus it's interesting to see how people respond. For all anyone knows, Ember could be straight as an arrow.
>We are rule 63'd Johnny Bravo
>>26984250"Has my charm grown on you? How flattering."
>>26984250"Aww. You jelly?"
>>26984250"I thought you were taking the lead. I mean, you DID just take us on a date."Referring to the raid, for the dense ones.
>>26984375I'm just pitching in. As my suggesting, I just love our flirting as Blaze.
Now the question is, how do we proceed? Do we waltz back in bragging or give no fucks and expect the news of our victory to spread on their own while we find someone else to fight?
>>26984539Yeah, but why?
>>26984457Seconded, because hilarious.
>>26984577I think it suits the character and I haven't really seen any quests(that I've taken part in) do it, its 'refreshing'? I guess.
>>26984618A brash, headstrong girl with a host of psychological problems copes by flirting with everyone she sees. Who knew?
>>26984653We all cope our different ways,eh?
>>26984793It's in a vain, partly juvenile attempt at companionship to help Ember deal with her issues in the interimn while she pushes through them personally. After all, the best way for people to notice you is to act out.
>>26984887Someone knows their psychology.
>>26984938More like a lucky guess.
I run my finger along her chin in passing, which makes her stiffen for a moment since she's not expecting it. "Do you want me to?""Not... really," she admits, "I was just curious if there was a halfway reasonable explanation."There isn't, but telling her that probably won't go down too well. "Well, if you're jealous...""Hardly."We're quiet after that, all the way back to White Wing, but it's comfortable. So, when we're back...>Go report to Storm.>Save it for tomorrow and see about Jean.
>>26984981>>Save it for tomorrow and see about Jean.Let the news travel on their own. Tell Jeanne how her drugs affected us first.
>>26984981> Save it for tomorrow and see about Jean.
>>26984981>Save it for tomorrow and see about Jean.Doubt she'll see us, but who knows?
>Save it for tomorrow and see about Jean.Meilang and I say our goodbyes and split up, leaving me with the unenviable task of having to somehow swing Jean around... as before, the door to our rooms isn't locked, but she's also not come out, either - no hint of her presence in the lounge, not even a single book. I pause by her door and swallow nervously.>Knock.>Leave her for today.
>>26985469>Knock.It is better do now than waiting another day. More we wait, more worse it will become.
>>26985469>>Knock.We at least have an excuse, we can tell her about the fighting.
>Knock.I raise my hand and knock on the door... quietly, too quietly, at first, so I gather my courage and knock a little louder. There's a click, and the door opens about one foot; Jean occupies the gap with a frown. "Yes?">Apologise.>Try something else.>Nevermind.
>>26985762>Making an excuseWhy not just apologize?
>>26985795>Apologise.Those with clouded minds fail to recognize their mistakes; those with rotten minds fail to acknowledge them.
>>26985795>>Try something else."Don't you want to know what your medicine did to me in a fight?"
Man, I always seem to miss this when it's on. Though I caught part of this session at least.>>26985795>Apologise, then say "Don't you want to know what your medicine did to me in a fight?" before you're inevitably interrupted with a 'is that all?' or whatever. Why not both?
>>26985795I haven't caught up past thread 1 yet so I'm not voting, but thanks for writing this quest, I really enjoy the writing style and fighting-game type combat scenes, it's a nice change from everything else on /tg/.
>>26985798You misunderstand. I was thinking about her pragmatism. Besides apologizing we have the fight data.>Apologise.
>>26985795>Apologize BRIEFLY>Then tell her the results of the battle.
>Apologise."I'm sorry." I blurt it out before she can shut the door. Jean blinks, nods, and starts to retreat back into her room. "Ah, wait, d'you wanna hear how it turned out -?""Tell me tomorrow." she cuts me off and her door clicks shut again. She probably needs some time to cool off still, too... cute that she'd have such a strong emotion inside that all-for-science personality. I leave her be and flop on my bed, exausted, both physically and emotionally; I've had two fights with strong opponents today and even though I did beat both of them, I still wore myself out doing it. Sleep runs over me almost immediately, like a black wave. This time, I don't dream. It's a nice change.ROUND THREE (UPPER): COMPLETE
