Greetings, /tg/- it's been a while.

I had something rather interesting in mind for you all as a sort of gift, but I'm afraid it just isn't ready yet. Next week, maybe. So for now, we return to your regularly scheduled adventure in the digital world.

Now, then-
The twitter is https://twitter.com/DigimonQuest here
The Archives http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Digimon%20Quest here
The Storybook here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vIIWBQ-sHlw3PZ4D4yH9hiIl8YiqEVpy1ZUztKlSzzs/
And a new addition to the links: Statsheets: http://pastebin.com/jRzise0N, http://pastebin.com/61G7w2Ue
More will be added soon, at which point I will just post the link to the account instead of the individual pastes. These stat sheets will also be update on a regular basis with any changes I feel are necessary.

I just barely manage to land on the step, just as the glow intensifies and the metal beneath us begins to move. Aslan lands beside me, somewhat drunkenly stumbling as the movement messes with his landing, and Sally is floating beside me, a rather worried look on her face. She drifts closer, and almost reaches toward me, before looking at her claws and drawing the hand back.

"Wayne, your face..." She murmurs, and suddenly, I'm aware of the fact that the majority of my body is pain. Looking down at my hands and legs, I can see that they're both slicked with moisutre and a rather unhealthy red, and I can only assume my face is the same.

Zoe, however, is unharmed, though she seems to be just as drenched as I am. She still hasn't let go of my shirt, either- her hand seems to be locked onto the fabric. While trying to gently pry her fingers off, I take my first real look at the thing we're on-

It's not the kind of metal I thought it was- that is to say, it's nothing I've ever seen before. It's smooth, and I can feel minute vibrations travelling the length of the step as it moves, and as I look up, I can see the other steps are moving as well, spiralling upwards in a corkscrew, like a massive drill aimed for heaven.

Aslan is looking between us and the sky, and Sally's attention is fixed on zoe and me.

>[] anything you'd like to say or do?

Holy shit!
Yes, I'm on time!
>>
>>27222972
I suggest we do the following:
[x] Ask everyone if they're alright
[x] After that, start climbing

Sally is our main fighter, can't have her be hurt.
>>
>>27222972
Kiss Sally, take her in our arms, and ascend the stairs.

Man it's been a while.
So, two statsheets, huh?

Well makes sense.
Speaking of stats and such, here's Sally's digivolution pic.

And, well, asking everyone if they're doing alright would be a good idea before we're heading out; would be rude to just check the digivice thing we've got, when we could instead ask Sally for how she's doing first.
>>
>>27223275
Oh goddammit, this is the unedited one.
OK, give me a minute.

>>27223240
Sally should take us in her arms; she can fly.
...Actually, no, wait.
Would that be insulting?
Kind of like Icarus and the whole "fly too close to the sun" thing?
>>
>>27223275
Yeah lets check in with everyone.
>>
>>27222972
So some comforting stuff, and then we head up?
That sound like a plan to everyone?
>>
>>27223322
That's exactly my thinking.

I mean they have stairs, so let's take the stairs.
>>

Well ok then.

Yeah, best not to piss them off...
I've read enough Classical Mythology to know how that usually goes.

I would put it down to weirdness of how Digimon work.
And Sally, soon to be one of hte Seven Demon Lords, would likely be weirder than most.

Anyway, I haven't found the damn updated digivolution tree, so I'll get one from suptg instead.

Age can be associated with digimon if you run it by a couple manga and came canons.

They get old and eventually need to be recycled into new data.

Aside, nice to see you back. I'm still working on my DDS/Digimon/Shadowrun quest.. Hope it to be baller when I actually put it on the air.

True, but I forgot about this lovely lady.

Though we should not make getting this form a goal.

I think it'd be our SkullGreymon, only FAR more powerful.
>>
>>27223348
Supporting this action. We act tough now and whimper in pain when it won't cause the girls to worry.
>>
>>27223558
Pretty sure that'd just involve Sally going psycho on everyone else which...yeah, bad idea.
Lucemon fell once and that caused a mess; we don't want to see what a fallen Ofanimon could do.
>>
>>27222942
...So...
How many points until we can get LadyDevimon?
>>
I think we've got a pretty good idea of what to go for now, right?
>>
>>27223592
I'd wager at least until thread twenty, since Angel/Devil class digimon seem to be stronger than average.
>>
>>27223592
I'm sorry, I had forgotten-
You have 1210 points.

I am not allowed to tell you what that amount can get you.
>>
>>27223532
It seems their aging process is pretty weird, though; we went from child-like Salamon into the adult Witchmon.
...And given that she's our partner, I'm pretty sure she'd age at the same rate as we are, not to mention what her eventual end goal is.
>>
>>27223621
...Time for speculation!
Going away from our main evolution branch costs...QUITE a bit more.
So it can't be any Champion-level digimon there.
...Hopefully we're getting close to LadyDevimon stuff, because that's when we'll really pull ahead.
>>
>>27223614
Yeah, in the original series Devimon kicked all kinds of ass, and it took Angemon to finally beat him.
It seems we've gone for the late-growth partner (well, we obviously did since the end point is Lilithmon, one of the Seven Great Demon Lords, but still).
>>
>>27223621
So we CAN get something for those points, hm?
>>
>>27223676
I'm cool with that. Aslan can do things as well.

Wonder if he's going to be Leomon or Liamon.
>>
>>27223727
We haven't even fought anything yet, and if you think we're going to be fighting anyone on Mount Olympus, you're insane.

I don't think it's a priority right now.
>>
>>27223739
He's obviously going Leomon.
Every Digimon series needs a Leomon.
Now we just need to make sure he doesn't die
>>
>>27223753
Hah, fair enough...
Let's just have the points saved so we can accumulate it for whatever goodies would be available.
>>
>>27222972

Say your fine, but just rest for a bit before climbing. Keep your eyes peeled though, you've seen far too many cartoons where the stairs turn into a slide.
>>
Think we've got some consensus here, Gale.
>>
So, essentially, we brush off the pain, ask how everyone else is, and then continue moving?

Alright.

>>27223240
You enthusiasm is appreciated, but is now really the time?

>>27223532
Sure, it can be.
But not this time.

>>27223523

>>27223929
>this took a short while because of food and a couple different retries.

I grit my teeth, and take a deep breath, forcing the pain down as I stand, gently pulling Zoe with me. When Sally’s gaze grows more concerned, I flash her a reassuring smile, before looking the whole group over.

“Is everyone alright?” I ask, receiving a nod from Aslan and Zoe each, and a huff from Sally.

“Wayne, you’re the one who should be asked that- just look at you!” She’s looking a tiny bit upset now. “Are you sure it doesn’t hurt?”

>>
>>27224500
Lying to Sally is obviously a no-go.
Even if she would believe us (yeah, good luck with that) it'd still be a very bad thing to do.
You don't lie to your partner about these things.
>>
>>27222942
So, Gale, question, will we go back to weekly things now?
Please say yes, I missed this thing so much
>>
>[X] It does hurt, but I can take it

"Yeah, it hurts," I admit, and I can see Zoe wince noticeably as she takes in the damage I sustained, while Sally's expression just grows a bit more pained in empathy. "But," I grin, and place a hand on Sally's head, ruffling her hair while the cat on her shoulder putts, just a bit. "If I let something like this stop me, how am I going to help everyone save this place?"

Reluctantly, my partner nods, and offers me a small smile, the concern still there.

"Alright, but- you'll tell me if it hurts too much, right?" She asks, and I-

>>
>>27225591
>>27225621
Hm, can we combine these?
>>
>>27225572

I will.
Maybe check our pack for anything to treat a burn, or ask Sally if she knows any, I don't know, healing spells?
>>
>>27225683
She does know a water spell - though I'm not sure how much that'd help in this situation.
>>
>>27222942
GALE! Welcome back, we missed you!
>>
>>27225669
I agree. Something along the lines of a combination of both of these

>>27225591
>>27225621
>>
>>27225734

Putting cold water straight on a severe burn is actually quite bad.

Rememeber a program where some girl basically stiped her skin because of it. Might have because of other reasons though (they say you should use cling film rather than a towel to wrap the wound until you get to hospital. Stops the skin from sliding off).

In any case, having your skin shift from boiling hot to ice cold can't be good for it.
>>
>>27225669
Actually, this is all just agreeing, I think?
>>
>>27225803
Ouch.

Gale, we spent a lot of time getting prepared for this "save the digiworld" thing; do we have something for this?

Because I'm pretty sure it would be an 11
>>
Anyone have anything against just combining what we've got under "Agree"?
>>
>>27226117
I'd say in general it's probably a good idea to just synthesize what the players say into a cohesive response.

Makes things more consistent that way.

Like even if everyone supported a specific quote, feel free to paraphrase it in a way that makes sense for the character.
>>
>>27226159
Yes, exactly; I fully support Gale in doing that.
>>
Obviously we should agree; I mean, doing otherwise is basically throwing their kindness in their face.
That's a very bad idea.
So let's do what Sally wants.
>>
>>27225572
Well thankfully we've got twitter and such to keep track.
Anyway, I think we have something like a consensus going?
>>
...Is Gale ok?
>>
>>27225572
I take a couple seconds to consider, but in the end, I can't very well say no to that. She's only looking out for me.

"Don't worry, I know. I'd never forgive myself if something happened to any of you because I refused to see how hurt I was." This seems to satisfy Sally, but Zoe still looks apprehensive, staring at the light welts that rose on the skin where the steam touched me. I place my hand on her shoulder, ignoring the fact that our clothes are still rather wet, and she visibly pulls herself together, nodding at the unspoken question of whether she was alright.

For a moment, I consider looking back in my bag for something to make these better, but the stairs are still slowly moving upwards in their coil.

Opening the bags here might not be the best idea, I figure, and look back up to the shining spiral of metal above us.

I can see some sort of distortion in the clouds directly above us, steadily moving closer and closer...and light streaming through it.

As the stairs continue to turn and rise, I try to control my breathing, feeling the racing pulse from my sprint and the steam slow to a more acceptable level.
As I try and calm myself, Sally seems to catch on, and she seems to loosen her posture a bit, though not too much. Turning to Zoe and Aslan, I notice how rigid the lion digimon is, and that Zoe seems to be in the same boat, her eyes locked on the ripple of light streaming through the sky.

"Wayne..." She begins, and looks back to me, then at the sky again. "I-I'm starting to wish I had read those books with you..."

She looks somewhat frightened now, and I realize that no matter how fantastic and wondrous this place is, it's still strange and unfamiliar, and not the kind of place I'd want to take her to recover, given the choice. Kneeling down, I place an arm around her shoulder again, and she leans into me just a bit, still looking up at the sky.

"Then..." I pause, trying to think about what exactly I want to say. "It's a good thing I am here, isn't it?" She smiles slightly, and I motion for the digimon to sit with us, as I begin to sift through my memory to try and figure out what they'd need to know first.

"According to Myth and Legend, the Greek-Roman Gods preside over certain skills or elements. Vulcanmon was based on Vulcan, the God of Smithing. What should be important to remember is the the high Gods, such as Zues, have little to no concern over the lives of us mortals. A simple way to put it is that some, if not most, of them have super inflated egos, any perceived slight against them is often met with disproportionately dire consequences..."

>>
>>27229942

Question; how many 20's do we have at this time?

also, could we try and find a database on the digivice? It might have some useful annotations on the Olympus Twelve... If we're lucky, it may have a search function.... alternatively, we could connect it to the laptop and search that way...
>>
>>27230453
I don't think we have time?

The Olympus Twelve will probably take a dim view of some snot nosed kids being too busy looking at their digivices.

Also in regards to the Olympians, is it possible to grovel /too/ much?
>>
>>27230869

Always. Gods are fickle things... not enough attention and the smite you, too much attention and they smite you, if they're bored they smite you.... just hope they're in a good mood, think happy thoughts, and roll with it...

Also, a quick check on the Digivice costs us nothing, and if we don't find anything; oh well, if we do then woop...
>>
>>27231308
I meant when we actually reach the lobby or whatever, we'd better be given the gods their full attention.
>>
>>27231430

Then yes, that has my full support...

>>27230390
>Save Point Set: The Stairway To Heaven: Approved! Most Excellent.

>>27230453
As of now, you've lost a stored 20.
That leaves you with: No twenties.

Also, if you could READ the Digivice, perhaps you could find something. But alas, it is in that incomprehensible code that seems to be everywhere in this realm.

>Discuss the interactions between the Greek/Roman Gods and Mortals

"One of the most important things I can think of," I begin, "Is that these Gods all preside over some skill or aspect of nature, and when it comes to these skills, they are the undisputed best at it." The three nod, and I get the feeling they thought this was somewhat obvious, but it had to be said in order for my next point to make sense. "They also have very little regard for the lives of mortals in our mythology."

"Because of this, their egos are...well," I pause, and try to think of a proper comparison- "It could be said they have egos the size of the mountain we just climbed. And it's more or less justified, because of their already established power and abilities."

This apparently gets the point across- Sally looks a little uneasy, Aslan's looking a bit less confident, and Zoe's just nodding, since I'm confirming what she had guessed at. They weren't going to like this, then.

"And this makes speaking with them...difficult." I'm really out of practice explaining these things...fuck it. "Because basically, The Greek Gods were dicks. They were complete and utter assholes to anyone and anything they didn't like, and nobody could say or do anything about it because they were The GODS."

Yeah, that got it across. It's starting to dawn on them just how dangerous this situation is, and just what we're walking into on the behalf of a bunch of voices.

"So..." Sally speaks up, nervousness creeping into her voice, "What do we do? I-I don't want to mess this up..."

>[]Stay calm, stay polite
>[]Offering them something in return might work
>[]Grovel and beg. Grovel and beg.
>>
>>27232150

"Keep calm and be respectful. Show awe not fear, speak clearly, but humbly..."
>>
>>27232150
"Well... the ones who sent us, they were gods as well right? So we're essentially emissaries from a separate pantheon.

That never really came across in the myths, but I imagine that being calm and staying polite would be a good idea.

Couldn't hurt if there's anything they would have us do like we did with Vulcanusmon, they might even like the idea of bossing around the chosen ones of other deities."
>>
>>27232285

True, the Gods loved sending mortals on quests... then making bets on them... then trying to kill them...
>>
Now what were we sent to do again, it's been so long.
