>Welcome to Bioweapon quest, a game which is (mostly) about small scale tactical combat, and getting deadlier.
>Don't be afraid to jump in if you are new!

You are a creature of simple desires. You desire to eat things. With every delicious thing you eat you grow, morph and change.

You are currently injured. You sit outside your creator's nest for a moment, looking at the small device you recovered from your last meal, when the door behind you as it flies open. You are shoved out of the way as your creator emerges, seemingly possessing a strength beyond what her thin human body should have.

"It's horrible!" she says as her hands pull at her hair, "They're misusing my inventions!"

Inside the room you can see the television displaying some strange creature with large slitted eyes and a dark suit. It holds some papers as it talks.
"-set to come active late tomorrow. If it works, and we have been assured that it will, the orbital facility will provide power to the entire planet remotely. This unheard of new technology will revolutionise colonisation programs across the galaxy."

"We have to stop them," your creator says as she paces back and forth, "You have to stop them! It just isn't right."

"Tasty things to eat?"
"Oh! Good idea! You can go and eat all the damned scientists who are ruining my work."
"You were mean to me earlier."
"You were in my room!"
You huff, scratching your mandibles together.
"I'll get you another delicious thing to eat?"
"Okay."
"We just need to think of a way to get you onto the station..." Your creator scratches her head with her vestigal claws.

"We're hurt. Need to recover."
Your creator stops pacing and pokes at your broken wing, causing pain to lance down your limb. You recoil from her prodding. "You are all damaged, aren't you. You should heal whenever you eat someone, how come you're still injured? Is that last one still running around in here?"
>>
>>27250747
"I changed my abilities instead of healing. Duh."
>>
>>27250747
"I...change....evolve. Not heal. Must choose."

Also we really need the ability to tell time. I want to know how long it takes our heart to heal us
>>
>>27250747
"Heal one thing sometimes. Sometimes get more venom instead. Sometimes glands. Sometimes change body. Healed some already, but not enough."
>>
>>27250747
In addition to whatever else: "Question. Created other bioweapons before me? How am I different? How did I show them all when the others could not?"
>>
>>27250847
Well, how long does it normally take your heart to heal you?
>>
>>27251023
>It's a bit faster then that. Order of days to heal broken bones, but it's main use is healing minor cuts and abrasions to stop bleeding and enable biomorphs like your scales to protect you again.

"Changed abilities instead of healing. Duh."
"Oh, it's one or the other?"
"Change....evolve. Not heal. Must choose."
"And you get to choose?"
"Heal one thing sometimes. Sometimes get more venom instead. Sometimes glands. Sometimes change body. Healed some already, but not enough."
"How interesting! I must write thi- No! There's no time!"

Your creator pulls out a small device and begins to read from it.
"Oh! You healed some other way, you ate some metal, right?"
You nod.
"That's it! There should be a... Yes! Follow me, I know just how to SHOW THEM ALL!!! this time."

>cont.
>>
>>27251198
You trot along beside your creator as she leads you through the maze of her ship.
"Were other bioweapons created? How are they different? How did I show them all when the others could not?"
"Well... uh... you see..." Your creator wrings her hands together, "Well you're still alive, for one. And you've actually, you know, eaten someone I wanted you to eat instead of just sitting in the gutters snacking on passing hobos." Her cheeks redden, "You actually worked!"

You eventually come to a room that reminds you of the bridge of the starships you have been on previously, although of a radically different design. One whole wall looks out into the speckled darkness of space. You see many floating asteroid chunks littered about, and a distant sun.

"And this is where we part ways! Good luck!" Your creator approaches a control pannel and slams her fist on a button marked "Guest Coffee Dispensor".

There is a ceramic sliding noise beneath you. You look down and see a miniature trapdoor has opened between your feet.
Your creator purses your lips together. "I had it installed before you got big, shutup!"

>Any final questions/requests from Eliza before we start the next mission?
>>
>>27251208
"If you get me more to eat, get psionic. Psionic is the MOST DELICIOUS THING! Made me feel not-hungry.

I think whatever psionic is, that is what the delicious really is. Chewing the flesh just makes it easy to get to. Vulnerable."

>>
>>27251208
"... You made me to change. Of course I'll get bigger."
>>
>>27251208
What is our objective? How should we obtain it in the most efficient pattern? Anything we should acquire during our attack?
>>
>>27251269

Don't let her know we have psi powers.

Veto'd.

>>
>>27251269
>>27251554

>>
"... You made me to change. Of course I'll get bigger."
"And it's a good thing! I'll drill out a bigger trapdoor the moment you're gone!"

"If you get me more to eat, get psionic meat."
"That could be difficult, psions are rare, but I'll see what I can do."
"Psionic is the MOST DELICIOUS THING! Made me feel not-hungry."
"They did what now? Oh dear. Perhaps I shouldn't then. We can't have you broken like that."

"We have feelings too, you know. They're mostly hunger."
Your creator pokes your antennae, causing them to flinch away. "I'll get you someone extra delicious, I promise."

"What delicious fleshbags will there be to eat?"
"There'll be some engineers and some scientists and probably one or two idiots there to make sure nothing goes wrong. It's a huge station, but it was designed to me mostly automated. I can't run everything myself, you know!"
"What do I have to do to get the one you offer?"
"Break the transspace thermal conduit convertor. That's the only important thing in the whole installation. It's a small box about as big as me, it's covered in coils of wires. You'll know it, it'll be right at the heart of the thing, behind steel plates and well watched."

>cont.
>>
Your creator begins pacing again, ranting away into the emptiness of space. "I knew I never should have left it in orbit around that star unguarded. It was meant to capture stellar radiation and beam it through transspace to warm up my burritos wherever I am in the galaxy, not power green energy colonies! It's disgusting!"

"What is going to try to kill me?"
"Oh, well, probably everything. What kind of a question is that?"
"How do I get there?"
"I'm going to stick you in a junk satellite I have lying around, then we shoot you off into a cross path orbit, the scrap collector picks you up and brings you on board. It's brilliant!

Just before you jump down the hole, a question springs to mind. There is some business left unfinished here. "Where's the rival I saw in the transportation to your nest? I desire to kill it."
"Rival? Oh, you mean the mir'rah? I'm sure you'll see another one soon enough."
Mir'rah? Your rival is one of many? This is worrying.

"Enough questions, just go already!"

Oh no, actually thinking about the situation and not just the last post!
Grow up, get some balls and a memory bigger than that of a goldfish, anon.
>>
You jump down the whole, tucking your legs and wings in and ignoring the occasional spurts of pain as you jostle against the walls.

You land in the dark, in a small tube that gives you a small amount of room to maneuver. You hear a panel close above you, sealing you in. You wait for some time.

After a time, you feel a wrenching from your inside. Your form flickers and changes, your eyes see colours that you're sure don't exist. After a moment normality returns, and you resist the urge to vent bile.
Your stolen knowledge identifies this as a warp jump, how most starships shortcut their way between places in the galaxy.

Some time later you are slammed into the back of the tube, then you feel light and begin floating. Later again, you are slammed into the front of your capsule, and feel the weight of gravity again.

Your scales and feet have begun healing, sewing themselves back together. Your bruised ribs feel better.
>Current Injuries:
>scarred and scratched scales (back, legs, neck)
>Crushed wing
>Lightly bruised ribs

The hatch above you hisses, and slides open. You crawl out quietly and have a look around.

You are in a large cavern with a low roof. All around you are wreckages of sattellites, spaceships and there are occasional hunks of rock. You can hear a voice, echoing from somewhere out of sight, behind the stacks of twisted metal.

You are hungry.
>>
>>27251879
Hm, let's sneak across the pile then, and find out who's there.
>>
You creep away from the tube, which looks like much of the other debris around, and climb slowly up the nearest metal heap. This area is only dimly lit, and strange shadows are cast from twisted solar panels, bent antennae and dented shielding.

You identify the voice as delicious. It seems to be humming to itself.
"Two gallons of juice and we'll be done; two gallons of juice for me."

You get higher and higher, but when you near the top, you bump your injured wing on a protruding strut, and it twitches involuntarily. You dislodge a small metal plate and it falls toward a large shielding panel.

You lash out with a hindclaw, and catch the plate with your digets, gripping so hard your claws score the soft metal. That was close.

You continue upwards, more wary, and find a small gap in the scrap to peer through.

You see a delicious oblong of flesh, worming its way through the maze of space debris. It glistens in the half light, as does the path it has walked through. It is carrying a plastic jug in one arm, and the other has a rope looped around its shoulder. Its eyes are on long stalks that protrude from its raised shoulders. It has no mouth you can see.

The meatbag stops and rummages through a small spherical satellite, sticking its eyes inside as it searches.

It throws the thing aside with a sigh, and continues along its path. All of a sudden an arc of light lances out in front of the creature, melting the plastic and spraying liquid into the air.

"Intruder alert!" A delicious metalic voice cries.
"It's just me, Carl." The fleshsack responds unsurprised.
"Identify!"
"We've know each other for two years, Carl."
"Identify or be destroyed!"

>there was a slug quest?

The fleshsack you can see, reaches down and picks up a hunk of metal.
"Look, an intruder!" the slimy one shouts as it throws the thing high into the air.

There is another lance of light that vaporises the thrown thing. Then you realise that the thrower has rushed through the narrow gap and is now behind another pile of twisted metal.

"I'll loop around and charge you up, alright?"
"I wait. I age. Forever watching."
"You and me both, Carl."

You could try to loop around to the right and find another path to the slug. Or perhaps you could go to the left, and find a path to the hollow sounding delicious one. Or you could scrabble over the metal heap to where the mollusc was, but the metal one might be able to see you if you do that.

You clench the metal disc in your hindclaw, bending it slightly. You realise that there is plenty of material in this cavern that you could eat.

You are hungry.

You slink off between the scrap piles, weaving around like a hidden predator. Along the way you pick up a few small scraps of tasty metal, being careful to not upset any of the towering piles. You snack on them, mulching them with your mandibles as the corrosive saliva in your maw softens the metal.

>You've had a small meal, so choose one of:
>Minor recharge (+1 use to bioweapon)
>Minor heal (remove scarred scales, remove bruised ribs, or lessen crushed wing.)

Soon enough you turn a corner and spy something delicious. A huge barrel-like satellite is wedged against the roof, slightly bowed where it didn't quite fit into the small cavern. It has many hollow rods that point from it in groups of two or three in various directions. Some appear to be connected to the main body with cables, others with thin wires and some with cages half-full of metal rods.

The thing has large wings of black material, most of which are crumpled or snapped. It many horns and antennae. On the downward facing surface, you see a red blinking panel. It has many lights dotted around, small ones on the end of its wings and horns, and bright ones that light up areas around it.

It doesn't seem to have noticed you yet.

The bones in your wing knit themselves back together. They probably can't support your full weight in extended flight, but it should be enough for now.

You decide to circle around behind it, to find a place it isn't looking and attack from there. You spring from your hiding place, darting across the open space to the next mound of rubble.

"Intruder alert!" the thing cries the moment you enter its field of view. One of the hollow tubes points towards you. With a blast it shoots a metal rod at you. The bolt whiffs past you, flying between your legs. It embeds itself in a pile of rubble which begins to collapse. Another tube points at the collapsing rubble, and an arc of light lances into it, slagging an ancient solar panel.

You quickly jump behind some debris as everything settles.

It occurs to you that the first weapon stopped pointing at you. You peer closer and see that it is blocked by the Delicious metal box's shoulder. It can't reach everywhere! It does seem that is has at least one weapon pointed in every direction.

You think that ahead of you is only watched by a bolt gun, and behind you is only in the reach of the light arc.

There must be some way of getting close to it.

"Intruder alert!" The Delicious voice cries, and three metal spikes embed themselves in the metal you are holding. You freeze, and nothing else happens.

You grab a small piece of electronics in one hand and give your impromptu shield a kick before darting out of hiding.

The plate rolls a short distance, and again a metal spike shoot out and punch through it. You activate your enhanced reflexes and watch as the weapon draws another spike from its rack, then fires it at the slowly falling shield. It draws a third spike and fires again, halting the shield's motion as it is nailed to the rubble.

The weapon begins to turn toward you, so you toss the electronics you hold to the side, hoping to draw its attention.

>Fangs apply poison, and punch through thicker armour, teeth are free, mandibles let you hold things in your mouth, and apply greater force when biting.

Your vocal chords thicken and become less fexible. Your vocal range is now limited to a single voice.

Cool metalic spines emerge from your back, sticking out from between scales. You focus, and can hear distant voices talking.
"We've got some minor micro-meteorite damage on collector 16, I'll have to patch it up for tomorrow. We have to look good on the big day, after all. Do we have spare parts in the dock or is someone going to have to go diving in storage?"
"It's in the dock. Can you get it done today? We're short on time."
"Yeah, I expected this so I took lunch with me."

You tune that out as you hear footsteps just outside the shell.

"Alright Carl," you hear the squelchy delicious thing say, "open 'er up and let's give you that charge."

You brace yourself against some of the metal bones that ran through your last meal. You use your healed wing to push off from the back wall and slam your feet into the hull near the voice.

Your talons distort the thin metal, leaving two clawed footprints.
"What the-? Carl?!" the slugthing asks.
You slam downwards again, bursting open the sheet of metal and landing on the ground. You slip in the puddle of sludge, falling to your knees. You catch your fall with your hands. It seems that the delicious slimy meatball got out of the way.

You look up and see that the thing stands, or perhaps lies, in front of you. Its eyestalks are retracting slowly.

You are hungry.

You scrabble forwards, digging your claws into the rubble for grip. The meal before shrinks back, leaving an extended trail of slime. You will have to watch your footing here.

You slash at it with your hands, claws raking across its upper body, aiming for its eyes. Unfortunately you miss, but you do score some light cuts on the things flesh. Your digits come away covered in slimy gunk.

The creature swings at you with a glowing box. The cable hanging from it lashes out and catches you on the antennae. It gets tangled and your vulnerable sensory organs hurt under the lash, but doesn't seem to cause any lasting damage.

You spring up out of the slime and away from the things impromptu weapon. Your wings bear you aloft, and you flutter upwards. You fly over to a pile of rubble and throw some scrap at the creature. Or at least, you tried to throw it at the creature. You missed. The broken satellite lands in the puddle of slime a length or so to the left of the creature, shattering.

You aren't very good at throwing things.

You spring from your high vantage point, leaping over and behind the thing. Then you leap again, supported by your wings and arc towards it.

The creature pulls a long reddish orange rod from the shattered satellite you threw. You land on the things back, slicing with your claws as you try to get a grip, preventing the fall with your flailing wings. The slimy meal spins and hits you with the rod. A surge of lightning wells up from the things hands. It arcs down the rod and into you, causing your wings to spasm.

You screech as loudly as you can, and the meatsack recoils in surprise. Its eyes pop out of its head on their stalks and the whole thing shivers.

You drop out of the air and fall on four limbs on the back of the creature. Somehow your claws manage to find purchase on its slippery coat and you dig in, attaching yourself to it.

You lunge for the things eyes with your mandibles...

The creature squeals and moans, thrashing about. You leap from its back and skid across a puddle of slime before coming to a rest on some raised solar panels.

"You arse! Die!"
The blind creature thrashes about with its metal rod, slamming it against the ground and piles or rubble with enough force to bend the soft shaft. Each time it hits the lightning leaps from it and courses to the impact site.

Then the creature goes silent, and begins to slink slowly around. It is heading towards you.

You jump onto a pile of rubble, dislodging a large piece of shielding. Although it doesn't make much noise, the slugthing hefts its copper rod and throws it at the pile. You leap high and dodge the attack which, when it connects, arcs lightning through the whole pile of rubble.

You land on the things slippery back, again balancing with your wings. You claw at its arm, slicing through the thick flesh. There doesn't seem to be a bone, and you tear almost completely through the limb, leaving it hanging uselessly. The creature squeals again, and grabs the glowing box with one hand, jamming its fingers into the sockets.

There is a massive surge of lightning that courses through both you and the Delicious creature, causing you to spasm, claws clenching into the things arm unbidden. You are flung off its back and tear the arm from the creature, along with a long strip of flesh from down its side.

Sensing an opening, you leap forward and slash at this exposed bare flesh before the slime can cover it. After a few swipes you reach its innards, and hurl them out onto the ground.

You bite and claw at the thing, as it weakly bats at you, but it doesn't have much strength left.

Soon enough you stand above your latest kill as it slime and blood run from it, mixing in the rusted junk that litters the floor.

>>
>>27256438
Yo Toque, just a thought I had for future biomorphs.

You could have one of the 'choices' we can pick from be reducing the space other biomorphs take up.
Like, once we have a bunch of bones, and we eat something with a full skeleton, we can reduce those things to like 'Skeleton', and free up room for future, higher 'tier' stuff.
>>
>>27256483
Organ systems would also be useful for freeing up space they'll also have maybe even combine effects. Anon would be lovely.
>>
>>27256483
>So completing sets lets you get the whole set for less then its cost?
>eg: Skull + ribs + spine + pelvis = Skeleton, costs 2/3 slots?
>The cost of biomorphs is meant to be important, but at the same time you shouldn't feel that things are absolutely mandatory.
>>
>>27256605
Yes, just reducing the cost a little will help.

And I realize it's important! But you should also realize, the more biomorphs we get, the more difficult choosing is gonna be, slowing down threads immensely.

Let me put it this way: Would you rather 10 of our biomorphs be crazy interesting unique stuff for us to combine and blow up people with, or would you rather that same 10 all be skeleton pieces that basically just 'protect us better'?
tg is paranoid, we're gonna want the protection.

Now, better bones? those shouldn't be grouped up, I think. Like, Heavy bones would affect anything in the skeleton catagory, but would always cost extra. So would, say? hollow bones, or whatever.
>>
>>27256418
>Sooo....basically we can do anything.
