Last time in hivemind mutant quest we finally developed the New mutants the Tectus, acquired a new hero Alexis the Huntress and even better have made more discoveries then we know what to do with much less research.

Ghoul Reaver capture
Glowing One ghoul Capture
Necrotic Ghoul Capture
Hilly Billy Redneck Mutant Capture "guest"
Psionic Zombie("seemed to be directing them") Capture
Mutant Zombie Samples Package Deluxe(Richard actually fainted at the sight)
Monster Samples Inner Swamp
Tested Inner Marsh perimeter map.
Ghoulish Warbands and scouts mapped out patterns.
Zombie Reaction data
Contact Hilly Billy Family respects

There was also discussion about dispatching troops to scout out the massive metropolis. On another note anyone know what happened to Markus's mobile base?

In other news a ghoul warband has been seen on the outskirts of our base with a delivery of some kind. They claim Markus sent them out to acquire samples for the Armor research. As apparently when they tried to deliver it to Markus he claimed he dealt in killing NOT protecting...so who IS the head of Protection Department anyway?

1.) Broodmother can now convert humans to mutant and join hivemind with telepathic ease. Not garaunteed but just "encouraging". Addition of other efforts to win hearts and minds still recommended. Offspring of these normal converted concieve and grow up in the Memor manner and don't degenerate the genepool.
2. Artificial breeder feasble. Can be useful for generating soldiers in quick sucession, but these should not be allowed to breed or risk degredation of future generations.
3. Broodmother discovered in underground facility. Increases fertility rate of reproduction and intercourse in her broodnest vicinity. Releases juices especially useful for healing, but which cannot be stored and must be used in her vicinity as well.
4. Absolute control of base functions and robots by A.I. restored.
5. Hivemind membership is by consent and mutation, all entirely easy thanks to broodmother. Once joined of volition, loyalty is, in practice, assured. The hivemind does not allow for slavery of it's members within the hivemind, nor crimes, and major actions within the hivemind are monitored and by consent of the hivemind masses.
6. Certain hero units have the strength and willpower to hide their thoughts from the hive-mind, even massive plots and secrets. This can lead to mistakes and unseen actions and conspiracies by the heroes, but the rest of the Memor masses do not and should not be feared of treason or action without hive-mind consent or supervision.
7. New strain of supervirus by Richard. One strain been deemed feasible for battle purposes. Other strain of contagion particularly deadly and left for "last resort/final solution" purposes.
8. The hivemind/overmind is capable of surviving without the presence of the Prophet of fate.
9. Radiation now heals. Don't ask how. It's mutation I ain't gotta explain.
10. Broodmother aura vicinity can make everything better, organics, machines and all.

so after reading over the last thread yesterday it appears some shit is going down in the jungle. and also the jungle is pretty fucking bad, like somewhere inbetween the deep swamp and our marsh.

also i vote we used our troops to go attack the bandits that we have left alone IN OUR swamp for FAR to long. we also produce another bombardier and whatever else we can with the res we have left over. lets save the last move for another roll of combat (if you let us) be sure to send Marcus, Alexis and Warlord Duel Fists. it will be a good chance to show alexis how conventional combat works. also be sure to have some scouts probe the perimiter BEFORE we strike, we dont want a repeat of last time

Mid term goal (i.e. this chapter or the next few)
1.) 2nd broodmother extraction of deep swamp. Develop enough force to support Marcus Special.

Long term goals (i.e. a very long time from now)
1.) At 100,00 population, and with research into irrigation, swamp construction, and agriculture we can begin construction of national border (via burned no-man's lands among other defenses and patrols) and swamp drainage/river logging to base to fuel bio-fuel factories and open up dry land for expansion
2.) 2nd tier of borders achievable when bandit forts taken an pop is at 400,000.
3.) Reconquest and reestablishing of mine's to fuel industry. Involves addition of roads and purchase of mining vehicles as well as possible railway system to expeidiate the process.

A few corrections could be made. A long time ago, we wiped out 2 of outmost bandit camps with the marcus special. Only the inner three were iradiated.

Also, as a generalized map that connects all the land it works well, but you would agree the smaller maps the OP drew are the more accurate yes?

anyway, can EDE confirm this>>27285201 ?

also, any corrections on the map?

The 3 old skullfuckers bases are full of ghouls, and of the 3 remaining new bandit warcamps to survive the Marcus Special those were irradiated and ghoulified too.

>>27285304
its not a base, but one of the facilities. the facilities are the grey splotches on the small map. it's very high tech.

>>27285219
For recent events I am afraid I have some bad news user.

Strange bandits in our swamp have successfully pierced the Deep Swamp. They have also established quite the base on River where they have begun trade. It is becoming quite the hub.

For some more bad news a monster surge from the deep swamp has occurred...their pouring out from everywhere into the outer swamp. Luckily the really big ones are still in the deep swamp. Its just the smaller chains that have been expelled.

Now for some good news.

Ghouls have fortified and their war-bands are for some reason unusually well armed and even friendly? Feral ghouls have largely fallen into packs or holes.

Now for some really good news. The broodmother has really picked up on fleshbeast production and Richard has been trying to figure out mutant cyborgs. Apparently he either news some new 'proper' facilities unlikely and quite costly or he needs some 'volunteers/samples'. Meanwhile however he has been researching the zombie samples. His report is that the strain is still quite crude having to have lairs to convert. He also figured out why there is so many is do to the fact that somehow cloning facilities got zombiefied. How many there are or lairs for that matter in the Eastern Swamp is unknown.

>>27285201

>>27285403
this is more accurate than >>27285420
it just bothered th hell outta me that the splotch of deepswamp was where eastswamp is
>>
>>27285420
That depends what the Op thinks.
As much as I really want to perfect our maps, I feel it's bad that we saturate the quest with cartographical debate. Let's let the OP decide. And vote on those actions people.
>>
East is the edge of zombie swamp.

West is Hillbilly swamp lands beyond that is massive penisula.

South is deep swamp

further south is everglades like area that turns disapears into the ocean.

Our area is the Northern swamp outskirts. To the west is the beginning of hillbilly mutant lands. To the east is the edge of zombie swamp. To our south is the deep swamp the heart of all the swamp. To our north is the city and wastelands.

Tectus scouts got sent scout out bandits. On their return they state the marsh bandits have grown increasingly hi tech. They couldn't get to close as they had psionics users nearby. City wise scouts indicate that the bandits gangs have been laying low. Apparently there is a war going on between Light City and Crater Bulge. The ones who haven't picked sides are mostly laying low between preying on the both of them.

Research wise Richard has completed the mutagen serum. Now we have the mutant and mutagen variety. Our guys can pick and choose mutagens we have unlocked. We can even sell the new stuff. As Markus disappeared with a crate of freshly produced stock when it was spliced with luminescence. Deal is Richard is gonna get some new stock in exchange.

The good news is, if we capture the river outpost, we'll have a great base of operations to start trading our fuel reserves to anyone interested like caravans, the dreamer marauders, open minded bandits, ect. for weapons, slaves, and tools and stuff.

But we still have to take and hold the river outpost.

shouldnt be tooo hard, we have an excess of ghouls and a strategy that has literaly solved ALL of our bandit problems ever. dont see why it wouldnt work agian, especialy with a dirty bomb or two and led by a few sane glowing ones. lets put those ghoul heros to work.

the problem is taking it from the ghouls, but we could always lead them away with more rads

She is loyal so long as we are interesting, and that Marcus is interesting too, and that we can provide her privacy (from the hivemind it seems).

We can't really rely on her for anything other than doing that which she finds interesting and is good for her and marcus. For now we're lucky that means what's good for us too.

She and him have extra privacy/segration from the mind priveleges, and a tendency to run off on their own plots. And we've been fortunate that both involved nuking the bandit warcamps to send in the ghouls and building the marcus special.

Psionic cloaking research+hero bonus.

We got Prophet with the huntress and mostly Memor to crank out psionic cloaking. It worked beautifully combined with mind blank can make trained operatives nearly undetectable. Sadly only a handful of memor besides the prophet are strong enough to do so over any decent length in time as it is quite exhausting. Especially depending on how strong you want it to be.

Scouts report two bandit bases one on the border to the swamp and plains. Ever since this the ghoul pandemic and nukes though they had to expand their operations outward again. Apparently its becoming quite popular many bandit groups go there to purchase massive amounts of fuel. What is most interesting is that they don't really trade in slaves oddly if anything they buy in order to free them but anything else is good. The river is used to send mass amounts of fuel down river to a base in the city who trades it to the bandit gangs there.

Research ghoul reavers Notes
Hellishly tough I am talking one these bastards could survive getting hit by one of Miss Mox's mininukes(no don't ask where I got one). They still have the freakish ghoul agility and hit REALLY fucking hard. As in one could tear power armor to shreds. Range attack wise they barf up parts of their meals now hellishly radiated and hurls it at their foes where it explodes on contact. Disease wise their crawling with it and even radiation. If the reaver doesn't kill you your freshly nuked immune system and the disease or infection will. Only redeeming feature is how somewhat rare and even stupid they tend to be.

73
Scout wise ghoul camps our guys found a bunch of burrows and ruins where the feral tend to be. War band wise they tend to find some high or old ruins.

Mysterious bandits have picked up patrols and established yet another base.

Ghouls are being riled and up now well fed even the ferals. Are really start to take action. Monsters are getting a run for their money even the Deep Marsh refugees.

Research feral ghouls notes

Their mindless only caring about food or radiation. What is left of the brains is pure instinct. Their very agile easily moving around. Their lairs tend to be in cool, dark, and moist areas. Which this swamp is pretty much covered in. Without radiation as a lure we have to either somehow bait them or acquire wranglers. Basically unusual ghouls who can guide and control the ferals. Ghoulish War bands have ghoul wranglers to lead their pet feral ghoul packs.

Bait wise will take something special to get them riled up enough and heading where we want them to go. Radiation is easy way to do it.

Random event

strange bandits are clearing out the area around their base of all threats. I also believe that they maybe constructing more detection systems in the surrounding area. In a few months once their zone is cleared we can expect some major digging in. Also have detected that bandit forces are now once more being nicely fueled thanks to their efforts. Despite staying away from slave labor they seem to be able to produce quite the volume and high grade stuff too...

On the plus side though bandits are staying way the hell away from our part of the swamp. Shit they don't even like passing between us and city in that narrow stretch of land. though this is most likely due to the high concentration of ghoulish threats.

How about the enemy did they escape?

First team yes thanks to the new vehicle second team got wiped out to the man.

hm guess these mutants don't want to play nice after all. Tell Cortana that her precious rescue mission is will have to be on hold. We can't wage a two front war.

Sir she wont like that.

Hm don't worry she wont like it but she'll understand. In any case divert all forces back from the main battle-line back here. Its time for payback after all there is no such thing as coincidence.

And the ghouls sir?

heh its about time we offered the bandits a deal they can't refuse.

We have only one military move per turn. We sent our envoy the Ghoul leaders, next turn we were supposed to scout the bandits. NOT BEGIN THE FUCKING HARRASMENT.
We coudl've fucking delayed the harrasment attack to scout them. The ghouls had nothing to do with our ability to scout before we attack.

>and it said they were in the process of setting them up
>which means they hadnt yet.
Clearly wrong, seeing as how they were ready by the time we were there. I garauntee you the OP would agree. It could be as simple as laying a sensor on the ground for all we know.
>they also are not going to waste resources an set them up all over the fucking jungle.
What part of "everyone else can lift a finger out outmanufacture you in a day" is hard to get? And trading for fuel? Sendingo out sensors to the jungle is peanuts to them.

We used to build watch towers all over this place. They've had months to set shit like this up.

we can use the free action as a military action i have gone over this almost a half a dozen times now

and with op suggesting that in a turn or two they would be to dug in to attack you guys turned it into an urgent matter, when we could have scouted before hand and known

then op needs to explain a bit better, cause when someone says "setting up sensors/detection system" it definitely heavily implies that the system isnt up yet. that is why the english language has different tenses.

he said that there are some who can, not everyone could. we were also told that this is a lone bandit group who managed to get their hands on a high tech military facility, that implies that they are not production based. speaking of which we need to build a few more factorys or crack into some of those facilities or something cause we need to be able to produce weapons/vechs at a decent rate.

we also need to re set up that watch tower grid, i suggested it last thread but everyone fucking ignored it.
>>

>>
>>27290862
We had to use the free action to scavenge for resources because at that point we had 0 and that's fucking dangerous not to have emergency supplies.

OP did not say they were digging in for an attack. When you plan to attack, you don't dig in, you mobilize holy shit.

And making any decision based on implications over personally witnessing and scouting the enemy is destined for failure.

The tower grid was only set up after a stroke of luck when we eradicated the forrest of monsters. Low and behold, the bandits moved back in a took them down to the last.

With news that our watch towers went down and knowing we only had a limited amount of time before the Bandit Horde was upon us the Hivemind sent its forces out in force to gather one final batch of resources while it was till safe. Which they did with despertate fervor.

10 Resource points acquired.

News for some reason the Glows Krew Raiders have joined the Bandit Horde. Richard has given us access the borgs sensors to see what we pick up here is what we got.

A bandit force numbering well over a 10000 troops(exact number unknown borgs are crude/stupid). Vehicles are few and far between but what is there are advanced considering they do not rely upon biofuels.

Exactly. If they are digging in they are not preparing to attack. You do not fucking dig in when you prepare to attack thats fucking retarded. OP even says they were a "live and let live" type of group.

>and how else are you going to make decision if not based on first hand reports? which we had
Nope. We didn't because we didn't send a fucking scouting team before we tried to harras them.

No, he never once said they would be too strong to attack, only that they were digging in AND that they were setting up sensors.
Attacking at that moment in time and that context can not be justified under any circumstance. One more turn of scouting is all it could've taken.

The prophet has access the memores of the fallen to show us their capabilities.

You are Roy you pilot a of a Lancer SST. Your column was moving along when suddenly one of the plasma babies got hit with something it then froze up and exploded. Before you could realize what was a happening you heard a thud from outside your tank you thought it was nothing until you heard a whirring sound when suddenly plasma punctured through your tank.

You are Jack you were piloting a Bloody Bandit SST when suddenly you noticed the lancers when it down. One just collapsed and leaked a bit of plasma. You realized that must of been the one which Roy was in. That was when you started firing trying to get the enemy to back off. Before you knew it sensors indicated that you lost 1 of your legs somehow. That was when you saw several streams of somthing fly hit and hit the boom town. You and the other bandit pilots desperately made your way there to get to protect it but is was to late. The Bombardier managed to get off a single salvo before it seemingly got attacked from many areas at once. Missle salvos, plasma shots, pulse cannons, even rail gun blasts all came down on it at once. Bombardier took to much damaged and detonated in a massive explosion thanks to its ammo caches throwing many spider tanks around. A few crumpled not getting up again. You could feel the death screams on the Hivemind and the screams for agony especially one nearby. You opened fire on it putting the Memor pilot out of her misery. That was unfortunately a fatal mistake as you were bombarded with plasma shots and missiles. You did your best trying to hold of the enemy. Now that the artillary the primary artillary was down you bandits tried to get the forces to retreat. But boom towns were going down left and right detonating massively. Lancers were soon down after that not enough armor. Shit you couldn't even remember how fast the Paramilitary tanks when down. There were still a few survivors around though.

You are Mark a pilot for a Plasma Baby. Jack and Marry chose to stay behind to buy time as being in Bloody Bandits they could take the most damage. Not to mention their legs were heavily damaged. So they wouldn't be able to move fast enough. Hopefully their sacrifice will be enough. For now however your in the front as a Plasma Baby your duty is to blast through the enemy to puncture a hole for escape. Too bad your the only one left the enemy made to sure hit the plasma babies once artillery was down. The remaining bandits tanks are keeping the flanks covered. You can hear them firing away over the din of the crude plasma reactor. You kept on pouring out the plasma not caring about the complaints and warnings from the crude systems on-board.

You are Janice in one of two lancers SSTs remaining you just mark was in front clearing the way when abruptly a well placed shot took out his plasma reactor. It wasn't pretty. That was when you noticed an odd over tank the one who had sniped Mark opened fire. Your tank shotdown but amazingly didn't explode. Thank god for weapons batteries were only horribly toxic and NOT explosive. So you were able to get out. Only to see the that the bandits were the only ones standing by this time they had formed a circle trying to distract the enemy while the precious few survivors tried to make their escape. It wasn't enough but you were able to see the enemy at least. Strange thing was you could see the flicker of movement through the trees. You could see 8 legged spider tanks even 6 legged. there were also plenty of hover tanks. However what disturbed you the most was the figures moving around the ground using strange weapons capable of puncturing through even SST armor. They moved in odd ways. That was when you saw one said figure from a twisted tree leap onto one of the trees onto a tank. Where they placed a strange charge on the tank that then detonated. You notice the Bloody Bandit tank collapsed surprisingly intact.

You are Henry. You just saw Janice's head exploded. You had been freshly shot not dead yet thankfully but you can feel the live oozing out of you. By now there were only two Bloody Bandits left back to back holding of the tides. You noticed that started trying to move away from you and a couple others. Undoubtedly in futile attempt to draw away attention. You waved at the others to leave you behind as you grabbed your machine gun. Good thing it brought it along just in case. You knowing your gonna die anyway and worst still you saw some strange flickering of movement. Before you realized what happened explosions occurred all around you. You could feel the Memor you sent away all dying and for the first time in your life you realized that you were completely alone. You couldn't even feel the background din of the Hivemind anymore. That was when you realized that one of your legs had been cut off but you were already on the ground. So you crawled your way to a tree planning to set yourself against it as you open fired. Sadly you could feel a boot crush down on your leg stopping you.

Got a survivor over here.

Take him to the rest.

Understood.

You could feel yourselve being dragged away when you lifted up your arm with the machine gun you realized your arm was also gone...amazing you hadn't realized that. You were dropped off with a handful of others.

So we taking prisoners?

Let me check, stated the officer.

No we are not stated as another soldier with a strange marking.

Huh why is that don't we need the info?

These ones are connected to a hivemind they would find out too much know.

That was when you could hear a strange whirring sound before everything went dark.

You are Ravoanna a former bandit turned mutie. You were a pilot back then too. you were 'chosen' to pilot the Forbidden Bandit. truth be told for some reason no one likes being a pilot especially for the Memor due to the whole 'dying like flies all the time'. Not you however you always liked piloting from the type you built your first 4 wheeler since you were 4. Things were going great until the artillery unleashed their first salvo. That was when things when to shit REAL quick. Enemy came out of nowhere tanks got hit especially the artillery the one thing they weren't counting on however was YOU.

Like a whirlwind you moved throughout the battle field blasting enemies away left and right. Taking on direct hits to protect your comrades. Shit it was the only way they could actually hit you despite homing missiles and whatever. They had to strike your friends. They just can't touch you heh just like the male bandits. God it was good to be in such a ride of destruction. You kept on getting hit and over and over again using yourself as a shield. But despite this the Forbbiden bandit remained true to its namesake you only really DID need just one no matter the odds. Long after your allies got away you kept firing way. Eventually however you began to run dry. That was only when you were in a zone where nothing stood but the wrecks of your enemies. You must admit you had to have taken out at least hundreds for this much carnage to be evident. When they finally realized you had run dry you could practically see them come like sharks to water or psychos to a unguarded newborn for the sake of some new baby skin mittens.

They however made on fatal mistake that just because you had no ammo left you couldn't attack. That was when you raised the front two spider legs one of who was partially blasted away. But that didn't matter you still had five 'looks at damage readout'. No make that 4 legs.

So looking at the weapons load out. You became quite thankful that Markus includes to melee weapons to this also your special modifications. At this point you knew you are gonna die. So you went over your weapons one last time 2 raised front legs, 4 stepping on legs, plasma cutter and impaler mount. Great thus you began to dance the death of the forbidden one last time. You don't know how many more hundreds fell before you only that you lost count after several thousand that you can't even remember the number to. Makes you wish that you had payed more attention in class. By this time however it seemed like they brought in someone special. A solo figure by this time you were done to standing most haphazardly on but 2 legs. Somehow not sure you could pull that off and your sole remaining weapon being a impaler. You had diverted emergency plasma flow to the plasma cutter a long time ago and it already had long since run out. Shit it was broken before even then you just used it to squirt bits of plasma into their orifices. Quite amusing admittedly too...

When that solo person showed up you noticed the remains of their forces pull back you charged but your machine wouldn't move for some reason...that was when you could feel the crackle of energy in the air. That was when you realized it psionic and one who could tear apart even a behemoth. Since the whole straining metal and popping rivets had any meaning to it. Of course that may be due to all the damage from fighting but you sorta doubt. One thing was however that contrary to popular belief mind over matter and survival of the fittest. Its not about as you see a well blased bit of matter shot into the mind matter winds. SO that is false adaptability wins out over fitness in name of survival. Which bandit models excel...especially.

That was when you activated the nanites you took from the dead nanite beds. You doubt it will work considering how they specialized in biology but you sorta microwaved and you heard that did weird stuff to electronics so who knows? This was also when you activated the 'repurposed' mini reactors. Not to mention that gift you got from some ghouls during a card game. The massive power boost sent your ride literally LAUNCHING itself at the sole figure. When they realized was happening it was already too late and even better the nanites were indeed repairing vehicle considering the holes were closing up. You started laughing.

Just as their forces charged to surround how and even throwing themselves at you to know you out of the way they could do nothing as it was too late. By the that time however you realized that you had in fact unwittingly fought your way to their main base of all the defenses and even MORE hostiles coming down on you was indicator. In fact it seemed that they had sent out their forces from all their bases in order to shut you down. Which admittedly made you smile. Despite your ride being more holes then metal and actual empty plasma reactor, with 2 of 3 mini reactors leaking(shame Behemoths require them for construction). Yet you fought on literally buried in enemies. Your only regret was as you looked at the big red button with a blinking skull on it. As your finger pressed down on it your last that was that it looked like you wouldn't be able to keep that date with Alexis after all...pity you heard she still had her V card too...

The nuke was apparently quite massive. As it turned out the reason why she ran out of ammo so soon and why the mini reactors leaked so easily was because they were overstuffed with nuclear material. Making the boom that much more awesome. The explosion crippled their forces and exposed their facility to the air...perfect for the oncoming horde of ghouls. Before their forces could recover a tide of ghouls descended onto the now revealed and vulnerable facility. A ghoul by the name of name of Glows Moan came to us after the havoc. Apparently him and his war band saw the havoc first hand as well as many others. He gave us a story. Of how at the center of the crater of the explosion itself they saw the husk of her vehicle. The crater itself was molten smooth metal Blasted all around it puncturing the buildings themselves were the former vehicular army. The strange thing he noticed however once they were done looting and escaped once they saw an oncoming army was that the crater was...empty. He heard some ghouls claim that the wreck collapsed in onto itself melting away while others saw it pick itself up and as it moved away regenerate. In any case said figure became a legend amongst the ghouls. And they are now quite friendly with us due to the whole letting them feast multiple times, Markus's assistance and now...this.

Our tanks underwent repairs. Luckily the factory was capable of doing it without assistance. A good thing too considering how sad the Hivemind is at the moment.

Richard meanwhile has underwent research for spiderborgs...its gonna take a while he admits. With so much traits and abilities making sure it has it all will take time. In that regard however he has already made some good progress.

Negotiation wise a black flag of parlay was raised. They sent a small force towards us. To see what we wanted.

So YOU are the bastards who assaulted not once but TWICE. For no reason. We tried to leave you alone and even didn't retaliate after the first attack but THIS. Attacking us again we were but defending ourselves. We knew your 'reputation' and it was most well deserved. You cost us one of bases and cracked it open for the ghouls to feast at. Could you HEAR the screams! But of course you wouldn't you don't care after all. Every time it seems your losing its just a trap to lure your opponent into a lull as you take advantage and unleash monsters on them. YOU are worse then slavers or bandit. At least a bandit doesn't make bother with the baiting or secretly even if they would happily rape you to death while eating you. Slavers at least make sure to capture and enslave or maybe kill you slowly. But at least not in the ghoulish fashion. So pray tell why the truce huh? OP has told us before, a good roll doesn't mean a good action.
It sounds like a decent plan, but we need to think longterm. Simply offering them a city isn't going to solve a lot of expected issues with them we're likely to face in the times to come.

Nor is it true that a good roll will garauntee they'll accept after what we did to them.

Let's just put a bit more thought into what we're going to say and negotiate, not simply because the roll is good.

You will soon pay for that hopefully...especially considering what lies in store for you heh we might not even have to do anything at all!"

"One thing I promise you though I doubt you will survive for much longer. Paranoia will only do you so good when you are surrounded by enemies and your vile friends wont stay friends they'll leap of the sinking ship or even turn against you. After all the only reason why evil never wins out in the end is because they always end up turning on each other. The Guard are approaching and enemies lurk all around you even under. You will sink soon after all you can only survive so long by your lonesome. Even with your 'precious' hive-mind. Its already begun to work against you but you don't see that now do you? You think your all so special but just wait. It will bite you on the ass though I will admit that has already long happened you just can't realize it can you?"

We actually alien and confused, they seem like good people. If we can give them a reason they may be more open.

Let's offer them something that would appear invaluable/dear to outsiders, while not revealing any of our weaknesses, as a token of our sincerity in peace.

NOT the virus. That fits the bill, but if they find out that we have a virus that could kill the planet they'll only further shutdown discussion. Likewise with most of our biotechnological innovations, as most people would find those abhorrent.

Also, we need to give them a reason why we attacked them unprovoked. Tell them that our hivemind was formed in the midst of a hellish psychic anomaly, and that our fledgling members knew predation by the swamp's monsters for years before gaining access to the relative safety of our base.

As for shit to give them, I don't know. Something that is powerful, making it seem like we have enough power that we can give something so significant up, while also being something that's obviously a sincere token being contributed to the parlay.
>>
>>27293903
We just want our swamp to ourselves.

They claim wherever we walk, we bring death. Sure we do, but so far, we have only brought death within our swamp. OUR swamp. OUR fuel. They form the other part, coming in, inviting death to act out.
Isolation is peace. Interlopers means war. There can be no peace if our swamp isn't ours.

Plus the only reason why people bother with each other is because somehow they will benefit. Even if their from the same village or womb.

>>27294433
No the Memor beginnings were underground. The Prophet of fateguided you to this facility. Before being driven underground and forced to search you were but normal mutants who arose from human survivors whose psionics abilities awakened/mutated and connected with each other that was the very beginning of the hive-mind. Thanks to the hivemind they were able to survive in a zone where no else could. Eventually however the wastes stopped being wastes when that happened humans came...who were not forgiving of mutants due to past experiences. The memor resisted they were used to using their ability to overwhelm much nastier foes. However the humans won in the end thanks to numbers and tech. After that the memor were driven underground moving amongst ancient buried ruins, drilled tunnels, and forgotten sewers. There they barely survived until one day the Prophet came to be.

We do not know of these dark beginnings, but they show us being hunted like animals for no reason at all

And we have made friends: the brave strongarms, the wily mulic, the overturned, and various other mutants have joined us because they seek a friend, a brother to stand beside them in this harsh swamp. We also have many former bandits among us who choose this willingly for one cannot be memor if tthey do not want to. And GlowyJoe and the glowbandit.

That's only because the atlernative was a bullet to the brain though.
It's a pretty common thing to want to live.

And coerced assimilation can't really be called making friends. The mutants yeah, but the bandits were prisoners of war.

It is as much a philosophical and emotional argument as a political one, after all we just killed a lot of them and we seek a peace we cannot enforce. We need to win the heart (or atleast quell its rage) and the mind will follow

the bandits were given a choice of join or becomes Richards plaything.

GlowyJoe and the Blows Krew Raiders only like Markus.

The StrongArms only joined thanks to a Warlord's Strong Arming. They respected power and wanted to join/benefit from said power.

Dammit OP you should know after 7 chapters we can be thick as bricks to your hints.

Maybe, we can offer them a mutual assistance in getting to the deep swamp. We want the broodmother, we're mutants. They're human so that's not possibly what they're after. We can offer to lend them a hand and get to the broodmother base along the way

"Aah," our avatar states with sudden comprehension.

The Memor state, psionic effect lending the voice of the lone speaker the quality of many at once, "Your encroachment upon a festering swamp with little to offer aside from putrefying vegetative matter, the snippets of conversation we've overheard between your members...it is all...beginning to clarify.

"We offer an immediate and total ceasefire between our factions, and our full assistance with your expedition into the deep swamp. Our scouts have been there, we doubt yours have. *What say you?*"

The final statement rings with...not challenge, but a sense of finality. There is no hostility or arrogance left in the psychic echo of words that the Memor put out without realizing it, only a sense of impending destiny. Even the bandits accompanying the spokesman can see (without even the guidance of the Prophet of Fate!) that the world will shift its path based upon how they react to this sudden shift, and unprecedented offer.

What we can hope is, now that the Tectus have returned, and once Richards self replicating spiderdrones come to fruition we might be in a position to start an offensive into the lower depths of the tunnels.

Rolled 8

In any case i am gonna call it a night since discussion is the only thing going on. In any case I will still stick around for a little while to at least answer questions.
>>
Rolled 57

>>27295754

Oh. Hey. The high-tech bandits know about the brood mother in the middle of the swamp somehow, but not about ours. (Is that confirmed, EDE?)

Why is there a broodmother in the middle of our swamp, and one in the basement of our facility. Is it possible that they're different parts of one entity?
>>
Rolled 62

>>27295769
The Memor itself. Maybe we're letting our collective emotions and paranoia get the better of us?

Just a harmless and nonserious conjecture
>>
Rolled 88

>>27295785
That may very well be part of it to a degree. Don't really know user as I have no access to the Hivemind being an Artificial Intelligence and all.

>>27295783
Unknown.

Possible you could always ask. You never really did bother asking heroes things. Bit of a bad habit as you may never know what things they know about. Some of which might prove to be quite vital and they may not even realize it.

Rolled 30

>>27295780

We can do action if you like.

Military: 100 Tectus check out the tunnel network as thoroughly as possible. Have the Prophet of Fate psychically shield them as much as possible.

Basic Action/ Production Action: Richard gets to use as many resources as we have upgrading his lab to his liking, and he gets to research spiderbots more. Upgrading takes precedence if only one can be done.

1.) Are things going to get really really bad for us?
2.) What was the result of the Tectus-Ghoul leader meeting? Any sucessful negotations?

Also I think a consensus is reachable right now
>Military move
Tectus see if they can scout the lower tunnels again
>Basic action
Richard continue working on those spiders
>Production
I don't know. What do you think guys?

Can it be with this roll though?

Would you like to join? I'm sure our scientist can figure out a way. . .
Ha ha ha ha

These actions
For production I recommend manufacturing lab tools for Richard if such can be done.

1 things have never really been good per say its just that now somethings have been pointed out. They had always been there you just never realized it despite the hints.

2 meeting didn't result in much as the ghouls hand their hands full. Not to mention you really didn't give much of an directive for it.

Ask the Broodmother if she's familiar with any networked organics in the vicinity of the base please, also ask her about her meeting with Marcus shortly before his departure EDE.

Ask Richard what the nature of the experiment that created the broodmother was, if he knows. Also, ask him about his knowledge of any other facilities in the swamp. Was this one part of a larger network?

Ask Alexis if she saw any sign of broad, interconnected purpose in movements of anything when she scouted our entire swamp. Also any odd things about the monsters she encountered in the Inner Marsh.
>>
>>27295829
Damnit, what a waste of 3 turns. And they were out of range of the hivemind so we couldn't multitask too.

I suppose at a later time we can offer aid when we straighten out ourselves and strengthen relations.
>>
Rolled 22

>>27295829

By the way, I like your in-character/not-character interplay. I like the idea the EDE is trying to (as an AI) get around the programming blocks by dropping subtle hints to us.

Too bad I came into this quest at the third thread or so, I probably missed all the crucial hints due to lack of knowledge of previous ones.

Clora'Zel here I am familiar with nothing of that sort in the vicinity anyway. Well correction there is the strange monsters that gather in hordes as well as underground. My collectors bring me samples all I have to say. As for Markus he asked about mutagens, mutations and fertility things before his departure. I did ask why he left he stated that we were no longer good for him to be around.

Richard here broodmother wasn't created here rather a tiny sample sorta got lose. Somehow it got passed all the security measures and it mutated. Never seen anything like it before. As for how they were created or if they even were. No idea I just no their a splicers and forced evolutionary dream come true. Other facilities there were tons...at least before it all became swamp anyway. No idea about it now. As for part of a larger network. Certainly discoveries had to be quickly shared after all. You never know how good a breakthrough is until its shared.

Alexis here some monsters do as well as the ghouls with at least 2 brain cells to rub together. As for odd things don't know didn't see much other then how insanely nasty they were.

>>27295858
Go through the archives links are all there for it all if you look.

>>27295890
Negative. maybe Thursday though if your lucky.

>>27295927

Could you ask Clora'Zel about the monsters that gather underground? (Is she referring to ghouls?)
>>
Rolled 40

>>27295949
Several types some seem like zombies others closer to Richard's vile experiments. There are even some like my fleshbeasts...but much much more advanced. No idea what to consider them. Their sorta like the monsters really...but seem to be created with clear purpose so speak.

We lost Marcus and Mox. We still have his designs though right? Factories, tanks, weapons.
Even is superproject bigger than the mobile fortress?
>>
>>27295970
*his superproject, the mobile fortress?
>>
Rolled 18

>>27295970
His super project he took with him everything else we kept.
>>
Rolled 84

>>27295970
I hope the day we discover Marcus' new creations we're not staring down the wrong side of their barrels.
>>
Rolled 16

>>27295959

And her collectors have brought her samples of these advanced fleshbeasts? Are her collectors able to move through the ground in ways our Tectus and etc. can't?
>>
Rolled 70

>>27296019
Collectors are potent but not that potent. At least yet anyway. Not to mention their quite hard to find these advanced fleshbeasts so to speak. As for how mobile they are its still a work in progress. Broodmother has been so very busy in that regard.
>>
Rolled 92

>>27296037

So very busy? We've noted the marked increase in her forces (and the fact that Marcus, one of our allies, has left). Can we ask why she's been doing that?

Also, I'm looking at the previous threads now. I'll crack your riddle.
>>
Rolled 47

>>27296057
Working on developing new fleshbeasts and breaking down samples for usability. As for why..."We are surrounded by hostiles everywhere and our forces are quite pathetic."

In any case gonna go to bed now. Also dear anon have fun cracking that riddle. Free heads up there is plenty of them. Some of them quite important, others offer a bonus or something interesting and so on. FUN.
