First time doing this, but let's see where it goes.

The throb between your temples has replaced all conscious thought.
Coming and going, it is the rhythm of your world.
You don't remember falling, but you must have as the blurry image of a rain-slicked wall seen from below registers in your gradually clearing head. As the cacophony slowly subsides you start noticing more details. Such as your proximity to a heavily trafficked street and the blood trickling from your temple to mix with the rivulets of water running down the grey asphalt.

The rain is still falling heavily, soaking your clothes through and through and you blink before unsteadily sitting up tp lean against the house behind you.
Well, progress is progress, no matter how small.

[] "I wish the rain would stop". Try to shield yourself while waiting for the nausea to pass.
[] Try to stand up, dizziness be damned.
[] Call for help (Vocally? Search for your cellphone?)
[] Take care of your wound. It didn't seem big but then that needn't mean much.
[] Other.

Your outfit must be a total mess by now, but what does it look like?
[] Business suit and pants, dress shoes
[] Functional skirt and blazer

[X] Taking care of that pesky head wound.
[X] Wearing casual clothes

It takes some effort -- a ton of it in fact -- but after a while you manage to tear a long strip of fabric from your shirt to wrap around your head. A smaller piece of cloth you fold a few times in order to apply pressure directly to the injured spot and keep the wound from opening further. Seems those lessons they made you take had some use after all. The dizziness comes and goes but at last you're settled with something even the most merciless first aid instructors would be content with. Meanwhile, the rain has slowed to a drizzle and you feel confident in standing up.

Bonus choice!
[X] Check inventory.
It seems you weren't expecting to be caught in a downpour as there is no umbrella anywhere in sight. You do however recover a rucksack from a from the sidewalk a few meters from where you were sitting. Inside there's several notebooks with sketches(soaked), a battered (and now completely dead) Samsung Galaxy I, a few pencils and a lighter.

To your slight irritation you notice that during the whole time, nobody bothered to help the obviously injured person on the wayside, pedestrians instead opting to hurry past while pretending you were thin air.

This makes you
[] Angry, people in this city behave like animals to each other

No, you're not a saint but seeing people drift through life unawares has a way of getting under your skin even though you usually manage to ignore it. Still, there's nothing to be done about the human condition especially not in the state you're in now so you resign yourself to slowly walk home unsteadily, pausing from time to time to let the last vestiges of your dizziness wash away with the wind. Overhead it's starting to clear up and by the time you've reached the apartment building at the outskirts of the city it's almost looking as if summer were planning a return.

Your quarters greet you with the usual mess of books, notes, and CDs strewn every which way, making you feel right at home. As you flop onto your bed you feel... lighter. As if the air were carrying you somehow. You pay it no mind and put on your favourite Dvorak compilation when all of a sudden, the very air and every surface in the living/bedroom seems to take on a fiery radiance of its own and you smell something like burning hair.

[] Freak out.
[] Try not to freak out. Fail

[X] Try not to freak out. Fail
Okay, you're just imagining things. This will be over soon and--
NOPE NOPE NOPE, that's it, you've had enough. Jumping off the bed - again, there's this odd feeling of weightlessness for a split second - you grab your bedsheets and start beating at your table which now glows a pale yellow. The flames however seem rather unimpressed by your efforts and keep on burning as if you hadn't done anything. On the flipside, they don't seem to be consuming anything either and despite the smell there's not a trace of smoke to be seen anywhere. Turning around with your heart beating madly you suddenly spot a figure in white, flowing robes sitting at the foot end of your bed looking every inch like some kind of whitewashed hare krishna, except more radiant and perfectly clean. The... person (he? she?) looks at you with a faint smile as if saying "are you quite done yet?", then pats the spot beside themselves like an old friend would when reserving you a place at their side.

This day has gone from bad to weird pretty quickly.

> Go with the flow and sit down with him. Inquire about the weird shit that happened
All be damned, this won't get any easier by running in circles like a beheaded chicken so best get it over and done with. You sit down a safe distance from the man (you decide it's a man for simplicity's sake) and set out for your first question before he holds up a hand to interrupt you.

"Yes, I know what you might want to ask; 'What is happening, Who am I, How did you get in here' and all those other newbie questions". First let me begin by introducing myself: I'm Malak and I'll be your host for this evening. As for what is happening: A lot of things, but primarily your Awakening which is the reason for my being here.

He gestures at the surroundings, his speech picking up momentum as he simply overrides any attempt at you getting a word in edgewise.
"These are just side effects of my being here and will subside once I leave. Now, let's get to the main question, which is 'What am I and what are my duties?', of course". He positively -- and you strongly suspect literally -- beams at the last part.

[] Let him talk.
[] Interrupt with a question (specify)

[X] Let him talk
Why were you even hesitating, of course you want him to finish. Raising an eyebrow the being continues.
"Every government needs those that enforce its laws and regulations, I'm sure you're familiar with that principle? On earth, it is primarily the task of us, the Awakened, to enforce the laws made in heaven and ensure that things don't go even more haywire than they do anyways". He shrugs

"Enough of laws and regulations though. Take off your bandage".
You comply. You expected as much, so the disappointment of the being's face is rather visible when your reaction to the wound's restored state is apparently much more mellow than he's used to. He'll deal with it.

Next he instructs you to hop off the ground, and for the third time you experience the feeling of seemingly being much lighter than you remember.
"Good, now focus on keeping that feeling in mind". After a while you manage a slightly shaky but otherwise stable hover above the floor and Malak relaxes for a second to give you a thumbs up.

"Each Awakened Guardian has a focus or specialization. What do you want yours to be?" He explains each briefely.

[] Banishment of evil (weak against regular humans, short range)
[] Elemental abilities (Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Plague)
[] Protection (physical focus, CQC skills, burning blades etc)

Malak looks at you quizzically, as if he didn't expect that kind of question. "When Adam and Eve agreed to take the Snake's deal they transferred stewardship of humanity and the planet to it and thereby removed some of god's influence upon this part of creation. It's a bit complicated but basically Angels only get involved when a believer prays for their intervention or Hell oversteps its boundaries. Otherwise Heaven will use regular humans and people like us to keep the peace". He seems awfully pleased with his explanation.

Unless you are talking about litteral necromancy, which is talking with the dead, no.

Now, plague is probably the most interesting option, but its more or less useless if we can't defend ourselves with it. I mean, who wins between the villain with a weather controlling machine and the hero with a gun?

Now, if there was some way to directly fight with plague, such as swarms of bees, turning people into statues of salt, transmuting blood to wine or being avenged sevenfold for each blow dealt to us, it could be an interesting option.

((Well, you gotta convince them to stay around although that shouldn't be too much of a problem, at least at first. God and True Angels are your boss, below that level parties kind of form and dissolve based on seniority, power and charisma))

I'm going to make a suggestion/compromise.

The skew is basically full elemental, dabble in protection to utilize those fists of fury. Here's the proposal: Change the word "elemental," to "Avatar," and make the initial choice we're deciding on right now be "You're the Avatar, pick your native element." I think that more or less solves a lot of the problems. We can train (or neglect) the others at our leisure, while not removing any options.

Y'all dig?
>>
>>27390637
Eh when ever i think of telekinesis i think of the force so i usually view it as offensive.

[X] Plague
Your fellow - strange how you've so quickly come to think in those terms - Awakened seems uncharacteristically ponderous for once, eying you sideways before slapping you on the back in an exaggerated display of camaraderie.

"Plague school, interesting choice. Most of those that pick it have had some sort of calamity happen in their lives and studying ways to call them a method with which they cope. You however seem to have lived a fairly uneventful life by all reports. You must be either gutsy or coold~", he draws out "cold" and somehow adds a little twirl to it " to pick that path. Either way, I'll show you the basics".

The next hours are spent speaking certain foreign-sounding syllables hundreds or even thousands of times, Malak sometimes snapping at you for getting a single vocal wrong.

While you catch your breath he expands a bit on your powers and how to use them.
"The power of the Him are more infinite than the Universe. Your body, however, is not. What this means is that you'll have a limited amount of Pleroma accessible within a certain time-frame with you will have to make good use off before you run out. True Miracles you ask for are of course done directly by Him and Free of Charge if you will, but don't tempt the Creator, it never ends well".

He corrects your posture and the old game begins anew. You feel as if you're slowly getting the hang of it. As night falls, you practice in the light of his fires, their glow at once soft and strong enough for him to make out every single mistake.
> Skill sheet partially unlocked!!
Main school: Calamity.
School Focus & Paragon skills: N/a
Secondary school: N/a
Pleroma charges: 12

"If you're in a pinch you may perform an Overdraw which taps extra Pleroma, but the side effects won't be pretty."

All things considered you really could do with a stiff drink right now. At your invitation the angel agrees enthusiastically and you make your way towards one of your favourite clubs before your partner redirects you wordlessly one street away from your destination. And I'm back.

Sage for not wanting to draw out too much attention.

But here was the idea I was ruminating on for my angel quest.

First:

Players would be an actual angel. Pretty far from the source material, but a supernatural and holy entity. You are an emanation of His divine power, a being manifested with a purpose and given freedom. To judge. Mankind has a spiritual sickness, and He that is on high would know whether or not His intervention was needed. Hell's agents roam the Earth freely, perverting and manipulating the poor souls of Earth.

The initial introduction would have them go forth and investigate a city of corruption, fallen under the sway of a succubus's cult. This would serve three purposes- first, to introduce the antagonists, second, to gauge the intent of the players, and third, to provide a quick and easy out for me if the players don't understand the theme and decide to fall like a moron for the succubus ("Your husk makes for a fine conversation piece in her resplendent throne room." Or something else suitably dire).

After the player's interactions with the mortal realm, there'd be a rough three paths I had envisioned:

1) Redeemer. Go forth and save what mortal souls you can. Save people, talk to angels to convince them to buy time, bring hope to the hopeless, all the good things. Kind of a guardian angel kind of game.

2) Avenger. Go forth, hunt down the wicked, and bring them your divine wrath. Making examples of sinners, smiting those that would defy God, following fallen angels in to Hell to drag them out screaming, that kind of thing. Combat batman style.

3) Scourge. Wipe the slate clean. Seek out a way to speed the end of the world, before His mercy acts up again and he spares the lowly worms that continue turn apostate despite every kindness. Mortals and demons unite against you. BBEG kind of game.

Those were the inklings I had. Your idea is better.

I wish I could have written "Wayward" for the last.
>>
>>27394630
Oh wait I recall your pitch from a few weeks back. Run it, I don't think we'd clash.
>>
>>27395614
Well, okay. I'll take that as a license.

Shame I've got so much else in my backlog of quests.
